Hagemeier is a former student of the famous Dutch type designer and calligrapher Chris Brand, and he selected DTL Albertina for the lettering. At that time he was working together with Frank E. Blokland on the lettering of the stained-glass windows of the St. Peter Church in the city of Leyden (see also this video). Blokland designed a special version of DTL Albertina with shorter ascenders and descenders, and smaller capitals for the window of the St. Peter and Paul Church.

Thank You Kiss

I’ve found the band in 2011 when my parents saw them at an outdoor festival. I was 6 at the time so I couldn’t go. From 2013-2016 I started downloading their music for some reason I don’t know why to this day but I never regretted it. I’ve played their music, I watched concerts, and researched everything I could about the band. Once I watched Kiss Meets The Phantom for the first time in 2016, that was where I became a huge fan

I wanted to see them so badly but I couldn’t because I was already travelling for other things. But once they announced their final tour, I knew I needed to go. There were no dates in my town so I gave up on getting tickets. But Christmas 2018 rolled around and my last presents were tickets to see them in Toronto and makeup. To this day, that was the best Christmas gift ever.

For a long time, I was hurt pretty bad by toxic fans online to the point where I was terrified of meeting them in public at the concert, only to be met by so many loving and respectful fans and I couldn’t be happier. And with Kiss ending tonight, I want to say all of the things on my mind about this amazing group

I was bullied, was sent inappropriate messages online, dealt with toxic friends, struggled with my identity and loneliness but Kiss kept me going no matter how difficult the world was for me. They made me believe I could be the best person I can be without any fear. They made me become the performer I want to be. They made me who I am today and I know many people feel the same way.

If anyone from kiss finds this somehow, I want to say thank you for inspiring me, for helping me, for freeing me from the difficulties of my life and making me feel happy when I was feeling down. I can’t wait to watch your concert and experience my last concert with you tomorrow and I will miss you forever and love you forever

guys, this is actually the end.

i am forever grateful for this band. im someone who has been through some of the hardest moments in my life, and discovering this band and the band just existing was like the second coming of jesus (lol)

i collected merch, later started a blog, dreamed of seeing them in concert, spent so long researching kisstory, collecting all the autobiographies

then the day i went to see them in seattle my world actually changed. i cried during the concert, blew out my voice, and finally realized my dream actually came true.

from the bottom of my heart, i am thankful to everyone apart of kisstory. thank you paul stanley, gene simmons, ace frehley, peter criss, eric carr, vinnie vincent, bruce kulick, tommy thayer, eric singer, and so many others who have carried on the legacy of kiss for 50 years and forever.

rest in peace to eric carr, a wonderful drummer who put his love into this band, and may his memory live on. he would've been proud to see where the band is now, and the legacy he helped create.

thank you to the kiss fandom, kissblr, and other fans, young and old.

thank you to paul stanley, someone who suffered bullying all his childhood, to gene who moved to the U.S knowing no english, his mother a holocaust survivor. to the empire they were able to build with what they loved most, music.

Truly a bittersweet moment we are living through.
