I PAINTED AN EMBERMANE!!!
I love him sm
I got a five-piece set of paint-and-play stablemates and I resculpted him. Originally he was the g3 Friesian (sculpted by Jane Lunger, 2006) but I gave him a makeover!

The fall horses kinda got me thinking and tbh I feel like a lot of SSO's horses are kinda same-y if that makes any sense? I remember when the paint horses came out and seeing the chestnut one in Fort Pinta and then looking at the bay sabino Clydesdale that was there at the time and being like "Wow besides the mane these horses are the same color." I guess with normal horses I understand because they have to follow a breed's allowed coats and there's only so many coat colors to go around but with fantasy horses? Where anything is possible? Antheia looks like the songsorrow which already looked similar to the woodear. It even has the same mushroom thing going on as the woodear too. And as much as I love it, the embermane is the third dark-grey-to-black horse with a fiery mane we've gotten after the red and black nixie and the Galloper Whinfell. And while the snowdancer's magic coat is pretty distinct the non-magic coat is the third light grey on the arabian model and second dapple grey. I could go on but basically what I'm trying to say is I hope SSO starts thinking a little outside the box soon

So we know now there is a sapphire herd where all horses have blue in their color.
And Embermanes is a herd that lives where there are a lot of forest fire.
I wonder if there going to be more special herds we will learn about in the future.
Also I like to belive Galloper Thompsons mare is a Jorvik wild, even if the horse we can get at halloween is a Whinfell, Gallopers own mare is Jorvik wild and maybe specifically from the Embermane herd.
It just seems to fit better if the mare is Jorvik wild. Like 'alpha of the wilderness', 'respected by others' and 'can not be broken' fit lot better than Whinfells 'make crops grow' describtion.

Of course I bought Embermane. Although I still think I'll make them darker and more gray, and brighter mane and tail. Something closer to Galloper Thompson's mare (which I didn’t buy because I don’t like the old Shire model and am looking forward to its update). But excuse me, this suit is my weakness after playing “heroes of might and magic 3″. I'm thinking of buying a silver-bay one, because in the game this horse is even more beautiful. However, there is another important question. What the heck? The developers promised 9 colors and that there will be no wild Jorvik horse in the app. And the horse with the fiery mane looked like a limited suit that we can buy during the quest closer to the release of the series. But in the end it is sold in Fort Pinta until the end of the year (if they will release someone else this year, where they will put it is not clear), then in the app and this is just ... strange? Overall I am happy with the horse, but not happy with how it was presented.
And I also don't expect anything cool from quests (which will also be next Wednesday).

Have you heard of the theory of the missing fourth herd in wildwood? Based on the theory the three herd represent the three circle.
Warriors are the lighting circle. Mystic are the moon circle and the foresters are the star circle. The missing herd probably the sun which should make the three, in this case four herd stay in harmony.
Some speculating the embermane being from the missing herd and I would add the soulsteed since this two has a similar description being free and traveling around the island.

Decided to test out some color refs for embermane Az for Sam’s Wildwoods AU. Honestly can’t decide between the black and chestnut ones.
I feel like chestnut is more realistic to her but I love my version of the in game coloring based off sun-bleached horses.

Hello... My name is Dawn! I'm a Jorvik Wild Horse... From the isle of Jorvik. I mean... Its kinda in the name. I'm sorry. This feels really awkward. The Bearded One - I mean Gary - suggested I try this out. The gray-worlders use these magic boxes, and he told me about a thing called "text to speak" on them. Letting me dictate what the box writes! My squirrel friend... Her name is Vesper, odd for a squirrel I know. Hey! Not that odd! Aideen, now you've made me lose track of my thought Ves! Oh haybails!
Right! I'm Dawn. I was born to the Wildwoods, but I don't remember who my parents were. Oddly... Neither can any of our herds. The Foresters took me in, but since I've grown up more I feel such a connection to the Mystics... And even a little to the Warriors. Its... Well. Its pretty confusing. Gary said I could maybe... Go on adventures beyond the gap. Into the gray-world. But I'm a little scared. He said I could get the help of a rider, but I'm not sure about that. Get to know myself better, to figure out my place in the woods.
I'm awfully scared to leave the woods though. I mean. They're all I've ever known! But... I hear Gary tell so many stories! I want to see wolves, and other horses! Saddle-broken or not I'm sure they're all wonderful! And snow... I really want to see snow. He's told us about that, but even though we're on Jorvik... The Wildwoods dont get snow. He said to be really careful if Ves and I go to the 'Hidden Valley', as its very cold. He said the coldest I've ever been... But times five. I don't think I get what he meant? But I'll be careful.
I wanted to record the process. Of my journey. Of my leaving the Wildwoods. Of my travels across our precious island! Maybe I'll see more magical things? Gary suggested I set things up to accept things called 'asks', so I look forward to maybe getting some.
Keep an eye out for more of Vesper and I's adventures! By the way, isn't Vesper really good at taking pictures of me? My favorite snack in this one, pumpkins!

Rewriting (?) Mistfall
I honestly didn't thought I would go through with this, but it was actually a lot of fun. This is kinda a rewrite-trying-to-explain-mix since I had to add or change things here and there. Anyway, here we go;
Alright, magic first. At this point my theory about Sky's scar is that, it is indeed, the symbol of the Embermane herd. How this comes into play I will explain after this part.
In this theory, the four circles each have two sub circles.
Sun (Aideen's Shield) = Fire and Light (protection)
Moon (Aideen's Wisdom) = Wind and Weather (time)
Star (Aideen's Heart) = Water and Snow/Ice (life)
Lightning (Aideen's Judgment) = Earth and Plants (balance)
It's established by SSO that the JWH have a connection to magic because of the pandoric energy in their blood. This is part of another theory of mine but basically the first Soul Riders and their horses were from Pandoria (just like Aideen cough cough). The JWH are direct descendants of those first Soulsteeds and thus still have pandoric energy in their blood to this day. Unlike Starshine and the others who are directly tied to the main circle aka Star, Moon, ect. the JWH are connected to the sub circles, 6 herds especially;
The Embermane herd (Fire)
The Gleamtail herd (Light)
The Tempesttrot herd (Wind)
The Weatherwalker herd (Weather)
The Aquasole herd (Water)
The Icehoof herd (Snow/Ice)
The Dustcoat herd (Earth)
And the Floraflank herd (Natur)
(I apologize if the names are meh, if someone has better ideas please let me know)
If a horse from one of these herds decides to make a connection to a human, the human will be marked with the symbol of the herd e.g. Sky's scar, while the horse will have the fist letter of the humans name + their gender marked on them e.g. Balze' marks. By making that connection the human will gain the power of the sub circle the herd is connected to. So, unlike the Soul Riders who are born with their powers and destined to meet their Soulsteed, the JWH decide themself if and with whom they want to make this connection. No interest in bonding with a human = no bonding with a human.
Now that we've established the magic system, let's talk about Sky's mom. For this to work I settled with the idea that Mistfall takes place at the same time as when the MC arrived on Jorvik.
We can hear Sam call her a witch, whether that was an insult or a statement is unclear, but let's assume it was a statement. This would mean Sky's mom was either, like he said, a witch, or what I prefer, a former Druid. Assuming she was around when Catherine's generation of Soul Riders was around, she would've likely seen what it did to all of them. Maybe she was even the mysterious lightning sister we never really got to know about? Anyway, she knew what magic and all that comes with it could do and decided to ditch (lets be honest, no one could blame her for that) and moved to Mistfall. There she had Sky and a pretty peaceful life until the thing with Blaze happened. Not wanting her daughter to get sucked into all of this, she decided to leave Jorvik and they moved to New York. There everything was fine, until that day that Sky unwillingly caused the fire. Being a moody teenager and not knowing about your ability to cause fires and such may not be the best thing. When that happened, Sky's mom thought it would be the best to send her to Jorvik so that maybe the island would help calm her powers. What happened from there on is basically just the series, minus Alonso flirting with Sky because 18 and 24 doesn't sit right with me at all.
I do want to quickly talk about the druids we saw. I don't think they are Keepers of Aideen. Most likely they are a separate sect of Druids or Wild Wardens. They see a connection between a JWH and a human as destiny and are persistent on gaining the powers that come with it for themselves. They yet have to succeed on forcing a bond between a JWH and a human, but that won't stop them from trying.
Oh, and regarding Sam. I assume he either read the books from the Sect, was a Druid or is somehow connected to the Keepers.
I doubt this thing here is perfect seeing as I did this instead of sleeping, but I kinda like it.

I dont like the look of the embermanes. Blaze look nice in the series style, but the horse doesnt translate that well over to the game in my opinion. The strong orange mane and tail and blue tinted body just look so off next to the other horses.
But I wont lie and say the mane style with the bushy neck and long fur on the stomach doesnt look good on an embermane. (I forgot to take a photo, sorry)
I dont know how to describe it, but the lion like mane make the orange blend in more with the rest of horse, it looks more like an interesting pattern.
