ONE MONTH CUT!!
Hello again!! As you all know from my previous posts, after spring break I set out on a more slow-moving, kind-of cut, as a way to get back on the health train, try out some new workout splits and styles and shape up for my cruise in late May. 
HOWEVER, I have decided to speed up and hone in on this cut a *bit* more, just to...A) keep me motivated, and B) start to see some changes! I have a beach weekend coming up in April (the weekend of April 27th to be specific), and after my roommate mentioned that she wanted to go on an "away weekend diet," I decided I wanted to try and push myself a bit, too. While I have discussed my new workout split in previous posts, I wanted to outline some other specific goals/steps I'm going to take to try and get lean. I have FOUR weeks, let's do this!!!!
Diet goals/changes:- high protein source at every meal (especially breakfast!! no more bagels!!) - swap empty carbs for more nutrient-dense foods (i.e. skipping out on breads for more proteins or veggies)- keep meals low-fat except for whole foods with healthy fats- opt for less added/artificial sugar if possible, and when necessary (like in coffee), opt for sugar-free (I know, not the healthiest, but for a short-term cut this will help decrease calories and fat)- as little dairy and gluten as possible - refuel after workouts with protein and carbs, but keep it low-fat- continue TRACKING meals and foods with an app, especially focusing on hitting protein goals every day (rather than focusing on cutting down on certain macros or foods, I feel like by focusing on hitting my protein goals, I'll end up eating better/less carbs and fats as a byproduct!) - after going out, be sure to HYRDATE and eat HIGH PROTEIN snacks! (again, I'm in college, I'm going to be realistic with myself and not make myself completely miserable during this cut period lol)- drink WATER!! I have a 21 oz water bottle, so I'm going to aim to refill it I think at least 5 (??) times a day? Or until my pee is almost clear!!
some meals I'm going to try and stick to:breakfast: oatmeal, greek yogurt with cereal, fruit with peanut butter, granola with milklunch: eggs and veggies, wraps with lots of veggies and a protein, avocado toast (once slice!!), fruit and peanut butter, turkey burger with lettuce wrap, breakfast burritosdinner: (I don't cook, unfortunately) no rolls/breadsticks/biscuits - focus on protein, veggies, try and keep portions of things like pasta smallsnacks: high protein, low fat (unless it's a healthy fat), like nuts, protein bars, yogurt, fruit and PB, healthy cereal/granola Workout goals/changes: I'm still trying out the new weight/HIIT routine! But I feel like that incorporates a good mix of hypertrophy training and cardio (in the form of HIIT); depending on how I'm feeling during each week, I might also add a session of LISS in as well. This would bring my training up to 6 days a week, which I'm super happy with!
