Jin - Jinzou Enemy
Enemigo Artificial
「Cuando tus sueños se han ido
¿Por qué repites la misma rutina?
No hay sentido en ello」
Una fantástica cosa que decir
Y tú también
「Estoy enamorado de la no-realidad」
Lo dices con tus dedos
Aunque tu boca no diga nada
Y entonces te vas a dormir
Ah, es tan aburrido
Así tratas de evitar tus ojos
Incluso aunque no puedas cerrarlos
Hey
Y sólo mírame a mi
「Ah, realmente fantástico」
Puedes aplaudirme
Empiezo a desmoronarme

anyway kagepro means more to me than anything on this earth it got me through some of the worst years of my life! when lost time memory came out i was 12 nearly 13 and i cried so hard, because i just felt like maybe one day i’ll be okay! so well done to that 12 year old me who wanted so badly to give up and who saw no hope in his future for carrying on. (and we won’t even speak of summertime record rn)
also thank u jin for the sick beats and for enabling me to literally pretend i was akane and shintaro and going by headphone actor literally everywhere including my first instagram account. the cringe is strong, but i kinda don’t regret it for a single moment.
and when i wasnt even in the uk i was on a school trip and i was watching mekakucity actors as it aired! the excitement of getting an anime, and jubyphonics covers, she was like 16 when i first subscribed to her channel. as much as i feel like everythings been awful, being able to forget and love these characters is something, that though is due to horrible circumstances, that i can look upon fondly and admittedly im still a little bit obsessed.

this was supposed to be a masterpost for me to find all of the animation stuff of Kiera but it ended up being pretty much of a masterpost of her entire art asks section send help

Stuff to think of when rendering:
lookeup how after effects considers certain values when rendering to make the set up more efficient for it to interpret lol . mic drop (at least the game portion) took around 3 hours out of AE (cut it into 10 chunks); when noticed errors -> would cut a composition to just the area that needs fixing, render it, and stuck it in the premiere file to replace the bad footage. To get mic drop out of premiere, it took about 1.5-2 hours to render the final cut

なりたくなかったら     didn't want us to be

I'm sorry, I love you
[ A drawing made in honor of the release of Additional Memory by Shizen no TekiP aka Jin. The MV simplistic and beautiful, going well with the music. I really enjoyed listening to it for approx. 5 hours. It was fun!
The song centered around Ayano after “Ayano’s Theory of Happiness”. Considering the lyrics of this song, it feels like it tells of Ayano’s regrets and it shows what her Heat Haze is-- Which is her constantly reliving her suicide. Or at least that’s how I saw the video.
Maybe I’ll model Ayano next and the infamous tv set. ]

Who are your favorite artists / animators ? Or your biggest inspirations ?? :^)
mm! there’s a whole lot but i’ll try a condensed list. It’s important to look for inspiration in a lot of different areas, not just copy a handful! I take inspiration from different places depending on the situation, keep your mind open and focus on your own product above all!!
illustrators
Rebecca Mock
sparrows
genice
andatsea
choo (to an extent, I used to be really attached to their work but not much anymore, but I think you can still see it imo)
baltimoreoriole (I didn’t know this person existed until a friend pointed me their direction after some mob edits lol)
animators/animations
Jonathan Stroh
sidu (1,2, shounen brave too, if you can find it)
mostly how she uses tweening and AE, but overall I really got into a lot of things due to kagerou, which was her big project w Jin :’)
Jin (shizen no tekip)+IA collabs (outside kagerou) (1,2)
WONDERFUL★OPPORTUNITY!‘s death should not have taken thee helped me with cypher 3, also your adventure log has been deleted
the meshing between the retro look with clean, refined portraits and all that other stuff was super appealing and well done
misc media?
Mob Psycho, both the animation team @ bones and ONE’s manga
Erased (boku dake ga inai machi)’s ED
Birdy the Mighty (specifically this sequence) warning for some blood & robot gore
I’ve also been taking after EXO’s Monster and Lotto
maybe that gives you somewhere to go off of :’)
I may edit this later today if I think of anyone

hey i know i haven’t been active about jin’s work recently and im disappointed we’re probably would never have continuation to nirvana but
pls support and subscribe to mewtral!
they’re vtubers/virtual idols under the production of ZOWLS, aka Jin and Sayuki combination from Nirvana with support backed by Compile Heart (known for Neptunia series). They’re a combination consisting of Mii (the girl with blonde hair) and Yuu (the girl with green hair).
their voices are so nice and they’re fun to watch, and they’re one of those vtubers who so far have short skits and no long livestream so they’re very easy to get into for those new to vtubers. also they have a pretty good original song made by Jin himself with MV animated by Sayuki.
youtube
they also star on VVVtune, a Neptunia game as main characters from the Vtuber world side of things, but the game doesn’t have much good review about it thus they’re not receiving the attention they deserves. if you are tired of kagepro like me but still want to support Jin please do subscribe to them!

Jin - Mekakushi Code /Mekakushi Chord
No puedes importar tus errores
Mientras tanto, me puse mis auriculares
Si te pones tu capucha, no hay problema
「Vendaje completo」
Si no eres notada
Entonces estarás bien
「Continúa la misión」
20 minutos después
¿Es difícil atraer?
Re-ata tus zapatillas
No puedes esconderte
Entonces, sácate tu capucha y muestra tu cara
Ahora. ¿por qué no venimos del frío?

Mekakucity Actors feature in spoon. 2Di magazine (Vol.50) - Pt.1
Started translation for the Kagerou Project/Mekakucity Actors feature in the latest issue of the spoon magazine! Many thanks to yatsugare for sharing the scans.
In this post you'll find translations of Jin's commentary on each of the main characters appearing in the anime, and interviews with Kana Asumi (Ene), Takuma Terashima (Shintaro), and Yuki Yase (director).
I plan on doing the Jin interview about the project and anime in general, and about the 5th novel, too, but probably at a slightly later date.
---
Mekakushi Dan Profiles
The little characters profiles for the characters can be found here, which I've previously translated from the special booklet from the Children Record single, since they're the same and frequently reused. Recommended for those that are just getting into Kagepro/MCA, but don't want to be spoiled on all the plot and backstory things yet, or just want a very basic introduction to all the characters to start off with.
Mekakushi Dan Member No.1, Kido
CV: Yuuko Kaida
Jin’s comment: Even in the anime, Kido is just really cool! Furthermore, her voice in the anime gives off an androgynous impression, so I think the viewers’ impression of her may change a bit compared to the novels and such, [where her voice is left more to the readers’ imagination].
    Mekakushi Dan Member No.2, Seto
CV: Soichiro Hoshi
Jin’s comment: Seto…. will have a lot more appearances than in the novels (laugh). He has his big scenes too, so Seto fans, please look forward to them. Also, keep an eye out for his refreshing personality!
    Mekakushi Dan Member No.3, Kano
CV:  Shinnosuke Tachibana
Jin’s comment: Just like Ene-chan, Kano has a role of being a noisy mood maker. Although character-wise, he has an image of being aloof, in the anime, you’ll be able to clearly see parts of him that show his true intentions, so please pay attention to this inner side of him, as well.
    Mekakushi Dan Member No.4, Mary
CV:  Kana Hanazawa
Jin’s comment: In Mekakushi Dan, she’s a character that’s particularly the odd-one-out, and in the anime, she still holds this same kind of position. I’d like everyone to look forward to seeing how Mary develops together with the other members of Mekakushi Dan!
    Mekakushi Dan Member No.5, Momo
CV:  Nanami Kashiyama
Jin’s comment: Cute and very cheerful, I think she’ll really brighten up the anime. I feel like Kashiyama-san’s voice really fits the real Momo-chan, and personally, I’m looking forward to seeing her animated the most. Also, I hope that the anime raises her popularity…. (laugh). Everyone, please give Momo-chan your support!
    Mekakushi Dan Member No.6, Ene
CV:  Kana Asumi
Jin’s comment: It’s like she’s so noisy that it’s barely tolerable (laugh)! However, she’s been portrayed just like how I’ve always imagined her in my head; she’s so adorable. She’ll be moving around noisily in the anime realm as well, so I’d like everyone to look forward to seeing her.
  Mekakushi Dan Member No.7. Shintaro
CV:  Takuma Terashima
Jin’s comment: Shintaro’s always been the protagonist throughout the story until now, so I think he’ll really pull the anime, “Mekakucity Actors,” together. Also, I have a feeling that he’ll surprisingly be able to properly play out his role as the protagonist (laugh). You might be able to see some of his cool moments, or maybe not at all….. Stay tuned (laugh)!
    Mekakushi Dan Member No.8. Hibiya
CV: Misuzu Togashi
Jin’s comment: I think readers will remember this from “Mekakushi Dan Radio Jack” (*anime info column that publishes monthly in Comic GENE), but he’s disgusting in the anime, as well…. but in a good way (laughs). Although, since that aspect of his personality is something that the other members don’t have, I think it’ll add some nice variety when he’s with everyone else.
    Mekakushi Dan Member No.9, Konoha
CV:  Mamoru Miyano
Jin’s comment: Konoha is a character with a lot of different faces, and putting it simply, there’s a point where he won’t be known as “Konoha” anymore, but I’d like everyone to look forward to seeing that change of his!
    Ayano
CV: Mai Nakahara
Jin’s comment: Ayano-chan will be having a lot of appearances this time, as well. All of the characters are important, but I think it’s safe to say that Ayano-chan is particularly important; she’s doing her best somewhere that’s a bit separated from the nine members. Please look forward to seeing how Ayano will be involved with the Mekakushi Dan members.

Kana Asumi Interview Voice actor for Ene
Interviewer: Asumi-san, you’ve been involved with the project since your voice acting for the CDs. Could you tell us about your first impression of this work, and what you think makes it unique?
Kana Asumi: It was a fresh surprise, like I’d come across a new kind of culture. It felt like I was gradually being pulled into a story that seemed like it could expand endlessly from music.
Interviewer: You’ve played the role of “Ene,” since the first album, “Mekakucity Days”. How did you feel when it had been decided that there would be an anime adaption?
Kana Asumi: It’s already been a few years since I first became involved with this project. From the very beginning, I’d already been hearing the staff mention how they’d like to turn it into an anime someday. Afterwards, when the anime became official, and I learned that I would be playing Ene, I feel like it took a very long time for the reality of it all to really sink in. Of course, I was really happy about it!!
Interviewer: For the character that you voice, “Ene,” what aspects of her do you find to be her appeal?
Kana Asumi: While she has the appeal of being cheerful and outgoing, and pulling others along, I don’t think her role is one that can be played with only that one side of her in mind. However, each character has their own past, and Ene is no different… is what I’m trying to say. I’m looking forward to see how she’ll be portrayed in the anime.
Interviewer: Upon getting into character, were there any things you’ve paid extra attention to, or things you’re aware of as you’re acting the part of “Ene”?
Kana Asumi: We only started recording not too long along, but I’ve been careful to thoroughly portray her with the catchiness of a mascot character, as well as showing her relationship with Shintaro.
Interviewer: Tell us about what impression you have about “Ene’s” master, “Shintaro”.
Kana Asumi: While it’s like he’s right there beside you, he’s also still on the other side of the internet. I think it’s easy to relate to him….. You emphasize with those you see a resemblance to yourself in; and though you’ll feel sorry for him, I think that’s what makes you want to support him. That’s the kind of character I think he is.
Interviewer: In your opinion, what is this work’s point of interest?
Kana Asumi: People that were alone, or thought they were alone, meet and go through personal growth as they move the story along. While running away and standing back up again, please pay attention to where they, with their special powers, will end up. Also, please look forward to seeing how it will come together with the music that is this work’s source material.
Interviewer: “Kagerou Project” has numerous songs associated with it; Asumi-san, could you tell us about song you like, and why?
Kana Asumi: With the anime starting, the song that I’d like to recommend is “Children Record”. I think this song conveys how this work is their story, and will soon to become our story, as well.
Interviewer: Lastly, a message for the “Kagerou Project” fans that are looking forward to this work!
Kana Asumi: I’m really happy that we’ll get to see Mekakushi Dan’s activities in the anime, and that I’m able to play the role of Ene! I think that music is a powerful thing; just by listening to it, it’s like it carries forth a whole world.  I’m curious to see how this powerful feeling will be expressed in the anime….. I’m sure that viewers will be able to be easily absorbed into this world. Please check it out!!
---
Takuma Terashima Interview
Voice actor for Shintaro
Interviewer: Teashima-san, could you tell us about the first impression you had about this work, and what you feel makes it unique?
Takuma Terashima: While I’d heard of the title, I didn’t really know what it was all about until I was going to audition for a part….. I found it interesting that it started from music, and was interpreted in a variety of ways amongst the fans. I’m also looking forward to seeing how it’ll be portrayed in the anime.
Interviewer: Tell us about how you felt when you were chosen for the role of Shintaro.
Takuma Terashima: I was surprised, but happy! At the time that this interview is being held, it still hasn’t been announced publically yet, so I’m half-excited, and half-nervous to see what the response will be like…..!
Interviewer: For the character that you voice, “Shintaro,” what aspects of him do you find to be his appeal?
Takuma Terashima: I think it’s the fact that he’s easy to empathize with. The fear of being judged by those around him, his groundless confidence, anxiety to step forward, the feeling of being isolated from society…  all these emotions that most people would have felt during adolescence, he displays them to the fullest. I’m sure he has his reasons to be standing, as the protagonist, amongst all the other characters that appear in this group performance with each of their individual abilities…..
Interviewer: Upon getting into character, were there any things in particular you’ve paid extra attention to, or things you’re aware of as you’re acting the part of “Shintaro”?
Takuma Terashima: I pay attention to the fact that he’s a negative character. He gets involved in a lot of things and takes action during them, but most of the time it’s because he’s forced to, either because someone makes him do it, or he had to do it out of necessity in regards the situation. I want to make sure not to act too cool, and stick to the negative and pitiful traits that he has.
Interviewer: Could you tell us about what impression you have of “Ene”, who resides in Shintaro’s computer?
Takuma Terashima: She’s cute! I want her to come to my computer, too…..! But, at least let me be alone during my guy time…!
Interviewer: In your opinion, what is this work’s point of interest?
Takuma Terashima: It’s a unique work, that’s going to be worked on by Shaft, which makes unique productions. Just that combination of uniqueness is exciting enough by itself! I can’t wait to see how it’ll turn out…..!
Interviewer: “Kagerou Project” has numerous songs associated with it; could you tell us about song you like, and why?
Takuma Terashima: All of the songs are cool but….. In particular, I really like “Summertime Record”, “Children Record”, and “Konoha no Sekai Jijou”.
Interviewer: Lastly, a message for the “Kagerou Project” fans that are looking forward to this work!
Takuma Terashima: We’re in the midst of doing our best to make this early summer story an enjoyable one! I hope you’ll all look forward to it!

Yuki Yase Interview
Director
Interviewer: Could you tell us about the first impression you had about the world view of this work?
Yuki Yase: When I first listened to the music, I thought the songs sounded memorable, and had a rich narrative that was told in an interesting way. I’ve looked at the PV’s for reference, but I’ve decided to refrain from reading the manga, so that I don’t restrict my image of the work.
Interviewer: “Kagerou Project” has gained a lot of passionate support from its fans; in your opinion, what are some reasons that people might be so attracted to this work?
Yuki Yase: I think it’s probably because the world is built on and connected with its music. There’s also the appeal in how there’s mysteries scattered around in the songs that gives the listeners of the songs a lot to think about.
Interviewer: As the work’s uniqueness and individual characters are being adapted into the anime, what things are you putting emphasis on, or paying careful attention to?
Yuki Yase: As we’re animating the characters for the anime, I think each character’s individuality is more apparent with animation, so we’re paying attention to make sure that the movements and expressions match each character’s personality.
Interviewer: Director Yase, what impression do you have of Jin-san, the original creator of the work, and the scriptwriter for the anime adaption? Was there was anything that left a strong impression as you’re working on this project together?
Yuki Yase: I got the impression that he’s someone that has a strong view of the world he’s made for his work. He’s also quite open-minded regarding the anime adaption, so he’s very easy to work with.
Interviewer: “Kagerou Project” has numerous songs associated with it; could you tell us about song you like, and why?
Yuki Yase: The one that left the strongest impression would be “Kagerou Daze”. I think it’s the song that mostly clearly portrays what Jin-san is aiming to create through this project.
Interviewer: Please tell us about what to look out for during the first episode!
Yuki Yase: I’d like the original fans to savor the appeal of the characters moving and talking in the anime, while also enjoying a different portrayal of the world view that they’ve been used to seeing until now.
