Hello world! Wow, how long has it been? My last entry was back in August. So be prepared for a long entry, but as always thank you for taking the time to read it.

 I talked about my decision to go to Over Eaters Anonymous. I went to four meetings, and each meeting made me think and realize(as bad as it sounds) that I was not as bad as all the other people who went to those meetings. I would leave the meetings feeling better about myself. Crazy as that sounds. After those few meetings, I decided I just did not belong there, so I stopped going. 

September was such a terrible, rough month for me. I was physically in a bad place(I was seldomly) going to the gym, I’d keep pushing it off and just finding those excuses for not going. And even worse mentally in a really really bad place. Over the summer, me and 3 of my girlfriends planned a girls weekend in Atlantic City, we were looking forward to this weekend for 2 months. I bought a new dress and I was so excited to see my friends and for a night out in AC. However the week going into it, my mind started to take over and not in a good way. 

I met my friend Nick for drinks that week, and we were talking about my weekend. I was saying how I did not want to go anymore because I did not want to be seen in my dress, and I did not want to be seen with my friends because I was going to be seen as the bigger one and I was feeling super self conscious and my anxiety level was sky high. I even texted my friends and told them that I was thinking about bailing out on the weekend because I wasn’t feeling good about myself and I did not want to be seen with them. Of course being my friends they all told me that I did not need to feel that way, that I was beautiful and all that stuff,, and that we were all going to have a great time.

The weekend finally arrived and I drove down to AC a little earlier to meet my friend(who was also there for the weekend) at the beach. I was already starting to feel a little anxious and was really wishing that I had backed out like I wanted to.  She then tells me that Nick messaged her and asked if I ended up going because he wanted me to go and have a good time. It was sweet to know that I had friends who cared enough about me. 

We get to the house and everyone is hanging out, talking, but not me. I felt so out of place and so uncomfortable. My mind had every negative thought in there that was possible. It bothered me that everyone was being asked, “So are you seeing anyone? Do you have a boyfriend, etc”? Yet, I was only being asked, “Hows work going?” My self esteem was already low and not being involved in those questions, made me feel like my feelings were being validated, that even my friends didn’t see me as someone worth having a boyfriend or having someone who wanted to talk to me. After we all got ready, we went to the club. After being there for roughly 30 min., I knew I had to leave. Something in my body just couldn’t take it. I left the club, stepped outside and started crying. I ubered back to the house by myself and just spent the rest of the night alone.

In the next week or so, I had doctors. I went into the room, and the doctor first thing she says to me is, “Are you okay?” I just started crying. On Friday, I had an appointment with a neuro specialist, He wants more tests to be done and then we go from there. 

It’s been a super stressful time, and honestly just doing the days one day at a time. But the most stressful and aggravating part of it all is that I was told what I have is rare. When it presents itself, it occurs in girls my age, who are overweight.

When I heard that it made me so angry. In the past 10 months(at this point) I was down 30 lbs, but yet my symptoms only got worse over the past few months with my increasing headaches and pain in my head. 

Yet, another thing that affected my life because of my weight, sigh.

Once he was out, he would wake you up so you could take your shower and by the time you came out, a steaming hot cup of coffee and breakfast awaited you on the kitchen counter. Then, you two would get ready and head out together, meeting Joshua halfway for coffee number two. You couldn’t help that you were coffee addicts right??

After work it really depended on who had projects or not but for the most part, you would go home together and relax. Work was never a topic at home unless it was something you wanted the others opinion on which wasn’t as often as you would expect. You and Wonwoo would make dinner together then snuggle for the remainder of the night till it was time for bed.

Your weekends were more on the unpredictable side. You tried to sleep in more on your two days of rest but since Wonwoo was in Korea to stay, a lot of his friends came to look for him, whether to have a meal or to take him out for the day. A lot of the times he would politely decline unless it was one of the guys from the group then he’d go and do whatever but his friends also understood if he wanted to spend more time with you instead. You would watch movies, go on dates, he would even take you shopping once in a while but all that mattered to him was that you were happy.

All in all, life was more or less perfect.

The two of you walked hand in hand through the streets of Tokyo in early April, right when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. Wonwoo knew that you had always wanted to go to Japan during this time of year so he took his first opportunity and got it cleared by the board to sweep you away for a week on a surprise vacation.

“I cannot believe you pulled this off.” You said looking up at the cherry blossom petals dancing in the breeze.

“I’m Jeon Wonwoo, I can pull anything off” he said cheekily causing you to hit his arm lightly laughing.

”You are so-“ you started but Wonwoo cut you off by wrapping his arms around you.

“Handsome? Smart?”

“Full of it is more like it.” You shot back giggling as you settled under a cherry blossom tree.

Wonwoo wrapped his arms around you from behind as your hands rested on top of his. The two of you enjoyed the comfortable silence, watching people go about their business while children played at the nearby playground.

“You know...I did have a purpose for this trip though…” he muttered into your ear and you turned your head to look up at him with curiosity and noted that he looked slightly nervous.

“I want you to know that you mean the world to me…” he started and you gasped. This was not happening.

“And I want you to know that I love you with every inch of my being.” You were turned to fully faced him now as he continued his speech.

“Being with you this past year has been amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in life. Y/N, I love you with every inch of my being and I am so thankful for the clumsy idiot I call a best friend that he married someone as smart as yours which is what lead me to you.” He took a deep breath as he pulled out a ring box from his pocket.

“Y/N, under these cherry blossoms, join me on a new adventure. Will you marry me?”

You stared at Wonwoo in shock as he looked at you with hope and the next thing you knew, you were both on the ground with you crying.

“Yes! Yes a million times yes!”

Applause was heard throughout the park as Wonwoo helped you stand up and he slid the ring on your finger before pulling you into his arms and swinging you around.

When he put you down, he pointed you in a certain direction and there stood Lee Jihoon with a video camera in hand grinning like he just made a million bucks.

Shocked, you ran over to him and pulled him into a tight hug. You hadn’t seen him since your fathers funeral a few months before because he had to go abroad. His producing skills had become known internationally and artists were coming left and right to ask him for help.

“How did you know?!” You all but screamed as you heard Wonwoo chuckle behind you.

“That idiot had to ask for someone’s blessing before he could go through with this and to hell that Joshua be here instead of me.” Jihoon replied with a smirk and looked you over. “Plus, I got it all on video so you have something to look back on.”

You turned to look at Wonwoo. He knew that despite your past with Jihoon, you two were still incredibly close and it showed that. Jihoon and Joshua had spent a good amount of time comforting your mother when your father had passed away in a car accident  while Wonwoo comforted you and for that, you were grateful for all the men in your life. Jihoon was like an unbreakable rock to you and Wonwoo respected that.

The three of you spent the rest of your trip sightseeing before flying back to Korea together. You and Wonwoo happy as can be but anticipating the announcement to your friends.

A few days later you sat at a cafe with Wonwoo along with Joshua and Hye-mi in the seats across from you giving you both confused looks.

“So is there a reason for this meeting?” Joshua asked slowly as he sipped his coffee.

“We wanted to give you guys your souvenirs from Japan.” You said with a smile as Hye-mi eyed you skeptically noticing a certain glow coming from you.

“...is that all..?” She asked slowly as you handed both her and Joshua gift bags.

Looking at the contents inside, Hye-mi couldn’t help but squeal while Joshua only looked at his gift in awe.

“No freaking way!!!” She squealed some more before standing up and engulfed you in a giant hug making you both erupt in giggles as Joshua stood up and engulfed Wonwoo in a giant man hug before turning around to join in on yours and Hye-mis group hug.

Wonwoo could only watch you three act like fools as patrons of the cafe watched confused.

“So you two agree?” he asked once you calmed down and Hye-mi and Joshua nodded enthusiastically.

“Are you sure you don’t want Mingyu standing beside you?” Joshua asked concerned knowing the deep friendship between the two middle school friends.

Wonwoo shook his head with a grin, “I already cleared it with him when I told him I was planning on proposing. He thinks it’ll be bad luck if he walks the aisle with Hye-mi a second time.”

Joshua nodded his head in understanding before his grin matched Wonwoo’s, “Then I would be more than honored to be your Best Man.”

“Wait, how did my husband keep that from me?!” Hye-mi almost shrieked and you explained that Mingyu had known for ages that he was going to propose. He just had no idea when. That seemed to calm her down but it was Joshua’s turn to flare up when Wonwoo asked if they wanted to see the engagement video that Jihoon shot.

“EXCUSE ME?! YOUR BEST MAN WASN’T PRESENT AT THE PROPOSAL BUT YOUR FIANCES EX WAS?!”

That statement definitely got looks from the other cafe patrons.

Wedding planning was harder than you anticipated and you were wondering how you pulled it off with Hye-mi’s wedding but you knew that with the  support of Wonwoo you could get through anything.

Your wedding party was slightly smaller and only consisted of Hye-mi and Jisoo while Wonwoo had Joshua and Mingyu. You both wanted to keep it small and simple and were thankful that all your friends were understanding about the matter.

The two girls were a big help when it came to dress shopping and all the decorative details. The spare bedroom in your apartment had once again turned into the bridal suite. Wonwoo was not allowed in there AT ALL and you made sure to keep the key to the room on you at all times.

Outside of that, he was a huge help with the wedding planning. He helped pick the venue, the food and of course the cake but he also ensured that it was the wedding YOU wanted.

A week before the wedding, the two of you were in bed discussing final details and that was when Wonwoo asked.

“Who’s walking you down the aisle?”

Thinking for a moment you smiled, “Believe it not, my mom asked Jihoon if he would do the honor”

“Really? So Jihoon’s giving you away?” Wonwoo asked sitting up almost immediately and you nodded your head in confirmation. He then let out a breath

“That means he’s actually giving you to me then.” He went back to lying down, “Interesting.” a grin permanently on his face. His thoughts going back to your hidden past relationship. He knew he literally had nothing to worry about anymore.

In the beginning, Jihoon’s over protectiveness made it hard to court you properly but as time went by, Jihoon backed off slowly. Who knew that someone could do so much even overseas? It wasn’t until Wonwoo took a “business trip” to Los Angeles to confront Jihoon stating that he had every intention on marrying you and was formally asking for his blessing.

Jihoon couldn’t say no after that and the whole engagement plan was set up.

The night before your wedding, Joshua and Mingyu came and kidnapped Wonwoo from your apartment, going as far as putting a sack over his head and dragging him out of the house with a rope. It was definitely a sight to see considering how it took all of Joshua and Mingyu’s strength to get him out of the house. That left you, Hye-mi and Jisoo cracking up on the floor for several minutes till one of you recovered and managed to bring the other two girls back to reality.

You felt extremely blessed to have these two girls in your life. Sure you had Jennie, Rose and the others but Jisoo and Hye-mi would always have a special place in your heart. Like sisters in a sense.

The three of you spent the whole night talking about how in time it was going to be Jisoo’s turn and Hye-mi made a statement that she knew Jeonghan already had a ring and by the end of the night, Jisoo already had her ideal wedding planned in her head.

The next day, everyone was up bright and early for your big day. Like Hye-mi’s wedding day, Wonwoo sent you roses but this time, they were white and there was only a short note.

My love,

I’ll see you at the end of the aisle. I’ll be the handsome guy in the suit ;) I would say more but this is Joshua writing the note for Wonwoo and he’s talking too fast. I think he’s nervous but I’m sure he’ll be better once he sees you.

p.s. Tell Hye-mi I’m sorry I broke one of her vases while we tried to drag Wonwoo into the apartment with the sack over his head.

You laughed as you read the note before showing Hye-mi and Jisoo who both burst into giggles.

An hour later, you were all primped up and Jihoon showed up in a suit. (He would only wear one for you as he only wore a dress shirt to Mingyu and Hye-mis). He looked at you in awe and muttered to himself.

“Jeon Wonwoo is one damn lucky guy.”

Later at the ceremony, everything had gone as smooth as you had wanted it to go. Jihoon had given you away while your mother sat on the side with tears in her eyes, happy that her daughter finally found a man willing to take care of her.

As you walked down the aisle, many found it odd that someone so young was escorting you down the aisle and not your mother but it was explained in the program that Jihoon had become a dear friend of the family and it was your fathers wish that if he weren’t able to walk you down the aisle, that Jihoon would do so.

Wonwoo only had eyes for you as you walked down the aisle and to him, you were the only person next to him in the room. It wasn’t until Jihoon had come forward and flicked the groom in the head that he was brought back to reality causing everyone in the room to laugh while Joshua and Mingyu shook their heads.

Everyone was surprised to see him cry as he read his vows and promised that no matter what, he would make you the happiest woman until his last breath. The moment the ordinator said those five words. Yes THOSE five words.

“You may kiss the bride.”

Wonwoo swept you up in his arms and gave you the sweetest kiss you had ever received while Joshua and Mingyu as well as the rest of his friends cat called causing you to pull away while red in the face.

The reception was held in a hotel that SVT Corp. had offered to pay for. Since joining the team, Wonwoo had helped the company grow to extreme lengths and they wanted to thank him in anyway possible.

Various wedding games were played and your first dance was to a song Jihoon had composed specifically for the two of you.

As you danced in your husbands arms, you looked around the room. The reception was alot smaller than Hye-mi’s had been but it was filled with only those who were important to you outside of those you HAD to invite because of family.

Wonwoo noticed you were spacing out and gently kissed your forehead.

“Penny for your thoughts?”

You smiled looking up at him before your lips met in a sweet kiss.

“I love you” you whispered as he returned the sentiment.

Everyone around you smiled knowing that you had found your true happiness and knew that it was only the beginning.

You and Wonwoo would go through many hardships in life but ultimately knew that as long as you had one another, you would be able to get through anything.

Her phone buzzed.

Buzzed, then buzzed again.

Annabeth snarled under her breath, eyeing the teacher whose back was turned to the class, and then snatched the phone from her pocket. Whoever was texting her had better have something important to tell her, or gods help her—

It was Percy.

Despite herself, Annabeth smiled. The annoyance didn't fade—no, from this morning to that stupid brat earlier—she'd just about had it with the day. She'd only come back to school for a week, but already she ached to leave and go back to camp where she belonged.

Percy, 11:14 AM  hows it going babe me and grvoer r headed for the beach

Percy, 11:16 AM  wait grover and i?

You, 11:17 AM  you got it.

Annabeth ducked her head and grinned. She caught Lydia's attention in the seat next to her, her friend's eyes widening almost comically as she leaned over to see.

"You're texting in class?" Lydia hissed.

"Shh," she whispered back, batting Lydia away. Still, the girl was hooked, far too interested in what Annabeth was doing.

There was a noise from the front of the room, and the two of them froze, glancing up.

"False alarm," Lydia whispered as Ms. Martin kept writing on the board.

"You should all be writing this down," Ms. Martin said. "See, this is why you guys aren't doing well. I can only do so much, but if you want to learn, you have to be paying attention in class. It's not as hard as you think it is. Is anybody writing?"

Annabeth gritted her teeth, glaring across the room before looking pointedly at her open notebook. Scrawled on the page were notes, though Annabeth hadn't finished writing down everything. Her dyslexia wasn't helpful, nor was the way Ms. Martin organized her thoughts on the board, completely different from Annabeth's.

There was a general grumbling from the class. Furtive glances were cast around the room.

"Yeah, if only she would teach us," Michael muttered from two seats up. Annabeth and Lydia snorted.

It was no secret that no one in their school liked Ms. Martin. She was a hit-or-miss teacher, and she often berated her students on their less-than-stellar work in her class—even though that had always been a result of her teaching.

"There she goes again," Lydia said, sighing as she jotted down another line.

Annabeth wasn't paying attention, though.

Annabeth groaned. It wasn't that she didn't appreciate Percy, but her friends had been pestering her about her boyfriend since she'd gotten back to school.

They were just scraping two months from the war; Annabeth had decided to go back with Percy and Sally's encouragement. She'd missed about a month—school had started late August, but Annabeth had wanted to spend more time with the other campers and with Percy before leaving.

Now Annabeth was currently drowning in work to catch up, but Percy seemed to have managed just fine starting in mid-September. He'd gone back to Goode, surprisingly, and had bounced between home, school, and camp.

They had some kind of parent-teacher conferences this week, or maybe a holiday, which meant Percy had four days of weekend instead of two. It made Annabeth insanely jealous.

Percy, 11:44 AM so what do you say

Percy's text brought her back to the present. Lydia had gotten back to leaning over, but Annabeth blocked her friend's attempt to read the screen, furiously typing back.

You, 11:44 AM no you cant my frien [Unsent]

"Miss Chase. Miss Faris."

Annabeth's fingers froze over the keyboard just as her heart stopped. She fumbled to turn off her phone, looking up to see Ms. Martin with crossed arms.

"Ma'am," she replied, feeling her heart start to pound against her ribs. She cast a frantic look towards Lydia.

Monsters, Titans, fire-breathing Chihuahuas… Annabeth had seen them all. Still, there was something about teachers that sent them to a completely different level.

The class had gone quiet, broken only by Jay.

"Ooooh," he sang quietly, and the class tittered.

"Would you like to share what you're looking at instead of what you should've been learning in class?"

Annabeth ground her teeth together. She needed to text Percy back to tell him not to come, wanted to keep talking to him, wanted desperately to leave the classroom and find something she could break. The anger and annoyance that had hounded her came back; Percy had been cooling it off, but now something had snapped again.

"Learning," she said deliberately. Someone audibly sucked in a breath at her tone.

Ms. Martin arched an eyebrow.

"Indeed, Miss Chase. Something you would know to do if you want to do well in my class."

This was dumb. This was dumb, and Annabeth hated it, hated the way her skin was crawling like spiders were climbing across her front. She hated Ms. Martin with her stupid voice, who'd failed her first assignment even after Annabeth had worked on it for three days straight.

Hated the way the teacher was looking at her, like she was dumb.

"Maybe if you were teaching us something, I'd pay attention," Annabeth said hotly, standing up. Her fists clenched at her side.

The classroom, which had been filling with whispers and murmured conversation, went silent. Lydia couldn't seem to decide if she wanted to gape at Annabeth or cower in her seat with the way Ms. Martin was glaring at them.

Ms. Martin strode forward.

"Phone," she said, holding her hand out. "I want to see you after class."

Annabeth glanced at her phone, shutting it off and handing it over. They stood off for another moment before Annabeth forced herself to slowly sit down.

It wasn't worth it, she reminded herself, but a little part of her whispered that it had. Ms. Martin had turned around, marching back to the front of the classroom. People had erupted into conversation.

"Girl," Lydia exploded once she'd sat down. "Wow. You… wow."

"Shouldn't have done that, should I?" Annabeth grumbled, sliding lower in her seat.

"Maybe," Lydia offered, "but that was the most badass thing I've ever seen. Just wait until lunch. Everyone's going to be all over you."

"Oh, gods," Annabeth said. She covered her hands with her hands for a moment and then lowered them, sending a satisfied grin at her friend. "Well… I guess that was a pretty good line, huh?"

The remaining time in English passed quickly. Ms. Martin went back to lecturing them, occasionally interjecting with a comment about their work ethic as she glared vaguely in Annabeth's direction. Everyone went back to taking notes, but there was a restless energy that lasted until the bell rang.

"Dismissed," Ms. Martin called, and the students surged for the door, yelling over each other and chatting. Lydia shoved her stuff into her bag.

"I'll save you a spot," she told Annabeth. She glanced at Ms. Martin. "Good luck."

Annabeth took her time putting her things away. She wasn't a terribly organized person, but today she made sure everything had a place. While she worked, she reminded herself that she couldn't afford to have Ms. Martin hate her. Any more, and she'd be failing English.

Not to mention phone calls. The minute Helen heard a word about what had gone down, she'd go off on Annabeth. What little relationship they'd been carefully building would come crumbling down. She'd be the unruly, good-for-nothing demigod.

She took a deep breath and forced herself towards Ms. Martin's desk.

"I'll have you remember that I tolerate no disrespect, Annabeth," Ms. Martin said. "I don't like it when any student uses their phone in class, and if you have constructive criticism, I'd like you to bring it up to me in a more helpful way."

Annabeth held her tongue. She could tell Ms. Martin meant it, but it didn't make Annabeth feel any less unhappy.

"I'm… sorry," she said.

Ms. Martin made a noncommittal noise. "Are we on the same page?"

Annabeth glanced at the clock.

"Yes, ma'am."

"If this happens again, Annabeth, I can call your parents." Here, Annabeth's lip curled in distaste. "And I will send you out of class. You know that."

"Yes, ma'am."

Ms. Martin sighed. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, and though Annabeth didn't like her one bit, she thought maybe she was starting to understand where the teacher was coming from.

"It won't happen again," Annabeth offered quietly. She wanted to leave and slam the door.

"Be sure of it." Ms. Martin nodded, reaching over to a drawer and handing Annabeth's phone over. "You can go."

Annabeth left without saying goodbye, darting out into the hall and sighing.

"That could've gone better," she muttered, heading towards the cafeteria. She was five minutes late, give or take a few—the lunch line would be packed, and she'd have to wait longer to get food.

Annabeth stopped, suddenly remembering why she'd gotten into trouble in the first place. She checked her phone and found a number of missed texts and a call from Percy.

"Oh, gods."

"Annabeth!" a voice yelled before she could check it.

As she pushed her way towards her friends at the table in the corner, she caught sight of a small crowd. Over the din, she could hear a loud voice chattering away.

"What's Beatrice up to?" Annabeth said, sliding into her spot. Lydia lit up.

"Annabeth! You made it out alive!"

"Lydia told us all about it," Samarth said. He passed her a soda can. "Bought this from the vending machine as a gift, you brave, brave soul."

"Uh, thanks," Annabeth said.

"I still can't believe you said that," Jay crowed. "Did you see the look on her face?"

"What'd she say? Spill."

"It was fine," Annabeth muttered. "So what's all the commotion about?"

"Oh," Lydia said, slamming her water bottle down in excitement. "Queen Bea found a new guy to drool over."

Annabeth wrinkled her nose. "I'm sure."

Beatrice was nice enough, but she reminded Annabeth of Aphrodite kids. Cool, but sometimes overwhelming… and maybe a little too obsessed with getting a boyfriend.

She was pretty forward and could get a little bossy, hence the nickname Queen Bea. Still, the few times she'd seen her outside of being boy-crazy had admittedly impressed Annabeth. She was driven and smart. Med school, if she remembered correctly, though Annabeth never knew if that was her own ambition or if maybe she was fishing for a good-looking doctor in her future. Probably both.

Buzz. Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.

Annabeth yelped, pulling her phone from her pocket.

Buzz.

"It's her boyfriend," Lydia said immediately. The table oohed.

"It's not," Annabeth said, hitting reply. It was Percy.

Percy, 12:21 PM hey its lunch but i don't see u i could use some help um u can probably tell where i am theres kind of a crowd is this normal

"Shit," Annabeth said. No doubt the "new guy to drool over" was Percy.

"Annabeth?" Jay called after her as she crossed the cafeteria. "Woah, wait, did we upset you?"

She shoved through the crowd, and there he was.

"Look, I'm sorry, I'm just here to find someone," Percy was saying. Beatrice was unsurprisingly talking to him, too close for both Percy and Annabeth's liking.

"Well, you found me," Beatrice said. She leaned a little closer. "Wanna go to lunch together?"

"Uh," Percy said. He looked nervous, eyes darting around the group of people surrounding him. There weren't actually that many people, maybe twelve in total, but they were all excitedly chattering about the new guy. With their small school and class size, everybody knew everybody, and anyone remotely new got people excited.

He tried to step away.

"I'm sorry," he said again. "I'm gonna go."

"Hey, wait, what's your name?"

"Percy," he replied. He was starting to get jittery, Riptide appearing in his hands as he twisted the cap like he did when he got nervous. "And I'm looking for—"

Annabeth finally pushed through.

"Looking for me?"

Percy and Beatrice both turned at the sound of her voice.

"Annabeth," Percy said, obviously relieved. She'd been his best friend for years, knew the way he ticked, knew what every look meant. It made her stomach flip when his eyes lit up, his lips lifting in that crooked, troublemaker grin.

He held out his hand, and Annabeth took it.

"Oh my God," she heard distantly. "That's gotta be him. The boyfriend. Samarth, get a picture."

Annabeth wasn't paying attention.

"Hey, Percy," she said, not fighting as he wrapped an arm around her and daring to press his lips to her forehead. She closed her eyes for a moment. "What are you doing here?"

He grinned, eyes crinkling at the corners. "Curly fries, remember? I promised."

"Do you two… know each other?"

Beatrice looked like her dreams were being crushed slightly. Annabeth felt bad, then remembered she'd been flirting with her boyfriend and felt a little better.

Before Annabeth could open her mouth, Percy beat her to the punch. "I'm Annabeth's boyfriend."

It was a little silly, but it made her smile. Every time she got to call him her boyfriend, it sent warmth through her body.

Annabeth ducked her head to hide her blush, and Percy tightened his arm around her.

"Oh," Beatrice said. "Um. Sorry."

Now she was blushing, looking a little embarrassed.

"It's cool, I guess. Flattering, but I'm taken," Percy said. "Uh, sorry?"

Annabeth couldn't help but roll her eyes. Her friends took the moment to press in like predators hunting prey.

"So you're Annabeth's boyfriend," Lydia said triumphantly. She was grinning as she stuck a hand out. "Nice to meet you."

"That's Lydia," Annabeth said, sighing. They'd never let her get the end of it. "Samarth and Jay over there."

"Oh, man," Jay said. "Liv is going to be so mad she missed this. Uh, nice to meet you, man."

Percy shook hands with Jay, then Lydia, then Samarth.

"I guess Annabeth talks about me, huh?"

"Oh, she never shuts up," Lydia said. Annabeth kicked at her ankles.

"Lydia!"

"Really?" Percy asked, grinning. He slipped his arm down from around her shoulders, grabbing her hand instead. Her face burned.

"No," she grumbled.

"Kind of," Samarth said. "I think Lydia talks more than her, though."

"What? I'm interested."

There was a beat of awkward silence before Lydia blurted, "How'd you guys meet?"

"Oh, um," Percy said. "We met when we were twelve. Went to the same camp, and we got looped into some of the same, er, camp activities together."

"Arts and crafts?"

Percy was grinning again, and it was infectious. "Something like that."

"Cool," Jay said. "I got shipped off to summer camp a few times, too, but my summers were never quite as exciting as Annabeth's. Any way I can get in?"

Annabeth pursed her lips. "It's one of those you gotta apply at, but it's a little hard to get in. Pretty specific requirements."

Percy laughed. "You're not wrong."

"Guess I'm not going."

Percy shrugged and raised an eyebrow. "Maybe. You never know."

"You're from New York, right?"

"Yeah, but I'm on break, so me and another friend came down for a visit. Then Annabeth said she was having a bad day, so I thought I'd come pick her up to get some food."

Jay poked Samarth. "Why don't you ever do that for me?"

Samarth only squinted back. "You're the one who can drive."

Percy glanced over at Annabeth, and she squeezed his hand.

"Missed you," she said quietly, stepping closer. "It's been weird being here."

"Hey, San Fran's pretty nice."

She looked away. "You know what I mean, Percy. I don't get to see your stupid face around."

He leaned their shoulders together. "Missed you, too."

Percy turned to the rest of the group. "It was nice meeting you guys, but I think we gotta go. Fries don't buy themselves."

There was a chorus of "You, too"s as Percy led Annabeth away.

"Mortals, huh," Percy said. "Cool bunch. Though I'm interested in what you've had to say about me, Wise Girl."

She shoved him. "Come on. Let's get some fries."

01/01/2021!!

2020 is finally over and it’s a new year. 2020 was one the weirdest year yet.

So lets do a quick 2020 year review;

January - We started the year with my family up North. We then celebrated our 3 year anniversary and we just did dinner, drinks and casino

Feb - We booked our tickets for Europe for 45 days for June/July

Feb/March - After coming back from visiting family my mental health was so bad, i was in a really dark place so I finally got a mental health plan to see a psychologist for 6 sessions. She really helped but I was lazy and didn’t really apply for she taught me so eventually I returned to that bad headspace

End of March - Our flights to Europe was cancelled.

April - Australia went into lockdown due to COVID. We couldn’t go to the gym for a couple of months nor go out to restaurants etc but at least we both kept our jobs

End of June/Start of July - I went and visited my family for a few weeks my bf also came for a little bit of it.

August - I GOT ENGAGED! and a few weeks before that we also went to the Sunny Coast for the long weekend which was really nice.

September - I finally went off the pill as I believed it could be the reason why my moods were so bad and doing that was honestly the best decision I made for the whole year (besides saying yes to marry my man). I am so much happier.

I feel like since I have come off the pill, P and I are communicating and getting along much better. We are more intimate and I have realised how extremely lucky I am to have him.

In 2020 I really did try to put myself out there. I reconnected with a couple of old friends (which I do need to see more of this year), I made a new friend through an app and I hung out with the girls from work a couple of times. Although we didn’t get to travel Europe this year which is our life long dream I am beginning to think maybe it was a blessing in disguise. My moods were so low this year so maybe I would of been in Europe and still felt miserable and moody most likely.

in 2020 I also really hoped that I would get a new job but I didn’t and I believe that is mainly due to COVID. My main goal for 2021 is to get a new job, to continue my mental health development and being the best fiance I can be. In October 2021 I will also become a wife!!!

For the last few years I have really struggled with seeing one of my old friends on Instagram -  I would find myself comparing myself to her and it would leave me feeling miserable and crying my eyes out. She has more friends then me, everyone likes her, she has a better job are thoughts that would continue to swirl around in my head. We used to be best friends and over the years, I still considered her to be my really good friend. I even wanted to ask her to be my bridemaids but I have since realised that she doesn’t consider me to be one of her good friends at all and last night (NYE) I finally realised that for this new year I need to just get over all this comparison with her and just be happy with what I have and with myself. I would always beat myself up and really struggle to come to terms with why doesn’t she make an effort, if she is in my town why doesn’t she organise to see me. Even now, she knows I am in town and yet she doesn’t invite me to anything and I have now realised that that is totally okay and I’m ready to just let it all go. We were best friends at one point and now we aren’t. Sure, I am for some reason, a lot shyer and quieter around other girls now than 6 years ago but that is okay. I still consider her my friend but I’m just done always trying to please her or to get her to want to hang out with me. It is what it is. Like last night for example, I ran into her and my other friend in town and she really didn’t make much of an effort to talk to me and she was kind of standoffish with both me and my partner. I think we have obviously both just developed more as people and she just isn’t the person she once was. I got the closure I needed and I am so grateful for that.

And it does kind of suck that it looks like I won’t have any bridemaids but at the end of the day, all I care about is marrying my fiance. I’m not going to shed anymore tears over this particular girl. I have some friends and this year I will make some more.

NYE last night was really fun. We started the night with my family at a bar, drinking and eating. We were all buzzing. Then P & I were gonna go check out another club but as we were walking there we ran into a bunch of my friends so we cut the line and went to this club with them. We got drinks and were just dancing. It was there first time meeting P. I think they were surprised by how chill and trusting we are with each other. At one point we were all sitting with each other and he started talking to this random girl that was also sitting next to him - something about them both being from Europe. My friends then decided to move upstairs to dance and P said he would met us up there. So we went upstairs and they kept asking where he was and I said he would be up soon and they gave me weird looks. I told P when we rejoined us and we had such a laugh. Throughout the night we would separate a few times but I just love that we can both do our own thing and trust each other 100 per cent. The thought never crosses my mind that one of us would ever do anything and I love that. We danced a lot together and just had the best time. He seemed to get on really well with one of my other friends from school and I also had a great time with her. At the end of the night we went to get noodles and she was telling me how the last few times she has come here she ends up dropping her noodles so what happened?! I left the shop and dropped my noodles ;( But at least one of her friends was able to give us all a left home! It was a fab way to ring in the NY.

Also, I just wanted to write about two of the funny arguments my partner and I had this year. In hindsight, it’s funny but at the time it really wasn’t.

1. He opened the mail of the ppl that had lived in previously, it was a massive water bill for one of their other properties and I was worried that they wouldn’t get the bill now that he had opened it. He goes, “Hang your head in shame”.

2. Our oven had broken, he wanted to fix it himself but I kept saying no. We must of been arguing about it and I was eating my ice cream so he takes it out of my hand and chucked it in the bin. I grab his ice cream out of the freezer and chucked his in the bin so that he grabs one of my mine out of the freeze, the last one and chucked that in the bin!! We always told about these two times and just laugh because they are both soo stupid.

One year a Jhin blog changed my life ( the story)

One year today I made this blog. I didn’t think it would go anywhere. I was wrong.

I’ll be honest. I was about to give up on the role play community here. After seeing how ugly drama can get on the basis of a he said she said mentality and falsified fact checking I wasn’t sure I wanted to stay here. The absolute anger some feel when lore changes and art updates alone was horribly sour to see. It put me in an uneasy place. I wasn’t in the best of relationship on a personal level and came here to escape from the abuse that it was. But what was it worth when all you see is people man hunt another person for having a differing opinion?

Either way it was a hive mind here and it was not helping me escape the situation with my ex. That was until Jhin was announced. I was infatuated with the video, art, idea and voice of him. Now I may be biased because I’m a metal gear fan and although I think Raiden is a whinny bitch (looking at you mgs 4) I love his voice. After all, I annoyed my friends when they announced project yasuo at its release. I felt the compulsion to maybe try Jhin as a blog. What harm was it going to do? I was leaving any way right? I would just go unnoticed and leave in a month any way.

Man was I wrong. The first two and thee weeks where mostly shit posting and the blood moon au with @code-thief I did have that fling with Vayne and even Zoey. At that time I was still building the Jhin I play now. I played with the idea that he wasn’t sexually gratified unless he was shooting someone (yes hello unwrite a bunch of smut for fun).And Tobias wasn’t particularly able to be killed. This was purely perfect for Jhin in my head. This was the idea I had. But the more I played with him the more I lost this idea.

Then @dunk-me-darius came into play. Now I followed Darius back with my other league blog and sat quietly watching for a year prior. I’m a scared person to approach blogs of any sort of status let alone one thar draws. Even with the past drama fresh at the time I still didn’t stop watching. The drama wasn’t mine to judge and honestly I know what was publicly known had much more to it then what we knew (iceberg effect).

Darius posted a thing asking for people to say happy birthday to another Jhin blog. I bit the bullet and sent a off anon message to this Jhin and wished them a happy birthday. After all kindness gets you out of bronze. This small gesture changed my life. Although this other Jhin and I have bad blood now, I want to thank them for helping me out of an even more toxic and abusive relationship then any of the drama I have been in and seen here on Tumblr. My animals and my sanity really benefited from it.

Now that Darius and I where talking. We started the roleplay of Jhin and Darius. This started gaining us both attention. Where as attention comes here, jealousy arises. This started gaining me some hate. Not the hate I had with my morgana blog. Oh no a whole different type of hate. Hate that would get you banned from league and the dictionary definition of #triggered hate. At first it was amusing. The unrelenting hatred people had for the ship and Darius was overwhelming all on the basis of past things that have been dealt with and buried.

Well I stuck through it even if it got bad. We moved to Skype since Tumblr freaked out every time we conversed. My inbox wasn’t a joyous +1 (in my case +12). We continued the ship, started calling one another bae for the muses. This was the escape I needed. It helped me feel happiness again. Darius was also happy (I hope) and we really made a good friendship out of it. We inspired one another. We kept making eachother laugh. Although I suck at league, Darius still played with me. Taught me some valuable things in top lane and helped me not be soo passive(although I still am because I fear letting the team down). It was great.

April is darius bithday. So I asked if it was okay to send a preset box to celebrate. Darius was more then happy and agreed. I was excited and baked some of my favorite cookies then sent them with other things. Darius received the package and enjoyed it. This was pleasing for me as I love bringing joy to others. It really helped me smile.

After months of talking and shit posting with one another, Darius and I started more then just a relationship with our muses. It was growing into a strong friendship. One where we could rely on the other for honest advice in life. That’s when Darius and I stared really referring to one another as bae on a personal level. Bae helped me with my relationship and helped me realize that my happiness was under a bandaid that I had to rip off. I was scared and bae let me take my time to do this. This was also the time we started talking about being single ship. I had already had enemies making people not talk to me so it was a good for me anyway. I already had the reputation of worse Jhin blog on tumblr so no matter what I did would result in hate.

It’s about August at this time and my mother was moving to Connecticut leaving me her house in Arizona. This was hard to do as I was mulling over the idea of a break up with my 7 year relationship and the reality of my mother ( who I’m very close with) moving 3000 miles away. This is when I asked Darius if it was okay to meet up. We agreed and started making plans.

The trip came up soon and I was getting quite excited to finally meet my bae. At this time I wasn’t too active on Tumblr because of the stress of packing my house, legal stuff with my mother and a hostile environment at home. Bae was my escape and we Skype chat often which helped me relive stress. I often would write fan fiction for bae as I was up when Darius was asleep. This fan fiction often sparked inspiration for bae and that made me happy. Bae made me feel special and appreciated which I wasn’t used to as personal life was getting heavy.

Then came the trip to Connecticut. It was long and even broke down outside of Springfield. But I talked with bae the whole time. Excited to see each other in a few days to come. At this time it was looking really good to be single ship. Then that day came. It was a cold rainy September day. Ugly in comparison to my typical Arizona sunny days. Bae was at that corner waiting for me. And what was the first thing bae said?

“ holy shit your hair IS long”

Yup that was the first thing I heard with my own ears in person.

But that didn’t matter. I finally got to hold and hug my bae. We laughed and I was silent for the first two hours. But the more we talked the more I started to realize that bae was real and perfect. We went on a date and it was more then perfect. This was also the solid go that I needed to take that bandaid off and end what hell I was living in at home. I wanted Darius in my life more and had to make the leap to bring this true.

A month later after realizing we had proper feelings for one another, we went full on single ship. This was also when I started the break up with my ex. Rip that bandaid off right? Well that bandaid gets ripped off but always ends back on making things even more complicated. Just can’t seem to understand it’s over I guess but bae has been the rock in my life. Keeping me from crumbling under the pressure although all I want to do is hide under my blanket and hope it goes away.

Bae then asked me formally to be in a relationship. Not just our muses but us as muns. I smiled and giggled to myself like a pathetic school girl and said yes. Since then in October bae and I have been dating officially. I never thought I would have ended up with a blog I admired soo much let alone dating and now LIVING with the Mun. It’s an experience I’m excited to move forward with. Even if I’m one of the worse Jhin blogs out there, I wouldn’t change a thing and do it again. Enemies and all. It was worth it and I’m now truely happy with my bae. My love and rock. Here’s to another year of shit posting and bad roleplaying.

  Favorite moments from August

The 5th: Reaching my $10k savings goal.

I finally saved $10k after a LONG time of trying to save. Originally my $5k goal started in April 2019. I had like $1k in savings for a while and I could because of groceries, my phone bill and cat supplies. Finally I got some savings and I’m so happy and proud of myself. Now it just has to keep going higher in order to buy a house.

That is my main goal so I’m getting there in a good pace. I’m hoping to get my family and I a big enough house so that we can all live together including my one sibling, mom and myself so that we can all be safe together. We are a pretty close-knit family that doesn’t do too well once we are living separated, so that’s why I hope to get a place for all of us to be neighbors lol

Luckily I have some people in my life to count on a bit, but I would also like to spread that love and rent out to someone in need. I’m grateful for my landlord who is a family friend of ours. She helped us a lot through out the years. She rented to me and my husband for $500 and it was a pretty ugly basement, but it’s a place nonetheless and with free wifi and washer and dryer. We were really happy. I hope to have that kind of space for a couple one of these days, or just a small family who needs cheap rent.

SOYVIRGO.COM SHOP: Shop is officially open (I MADE MY FIRST SALE!)

Well this month I went crazy uploading stuff on my shop and making graphics. I only want to sell physical products for a little and then start selling ebooks and digital products. These are a few of my items so far:

I will be adjusting everything and adding and removing stuff if I don’t make sales. I just want to see what people like and sell a lot of items that are more eco friendly and a favorite with customers. I’m not okay with selling lots of products that use fabrics that aren’t sustainable so that’s why I’m thinking of just selling a few things and then making more digital stuff eventually.

Also, yes I made my first sale thank you so much you know who you are!! It’s crazy because I didn’t know I had to do more to set up my shop which was kind of dumb of me lol. I didn’t even set up my accounts to collect the money. Very bad, but luckily my friend made a purchase so I was able to ask them to hold on for a bit until I finished the sale.

    The 23rd: Meeting my best views ever goal TWICE

I met this goal two times in the month and I’m so shocked!! I’m so happy!

My best views ever so far was on August 23rd when I got 253 views/visits. My last one was around august 8th. Hopefully I can reach those goals every month.

Well, I made a sale on August 28th! In September I hope to make at least 4 sales. How will I do that? I will try marketing. I need to work on my products and come up with a lot of designs to sell and see which do best and which ones are good enough to promote online somewhere. Wish me luck!

Better Sleep

I want to have better sleep because sometimes, like last night, I sleep for too little, and sometimes I sleep too long! I went to sleep at 5am and woke up at 2pm and now it’s 4pm. I have too much work to do on my site to be waking up so late in the day!

YOGA or MEDITATING or SOME KIND OF MOVEMENT

I remember doing yoga back in like 2018 and my body felt amazing, I barely had back pain. Now I have a lot because I don’t have a desk to work at, I just sit on the couch in awkward positions. I also sleep uncomfortably.

So now since I’m completing other goals like financial goals, I want to work on my body now and mental health while also keeping up the financial/work goals.

Digital De-cluttering

In September I have a lot of blog posts planned because it’s my Bday month so I want to make a lot of content related to September babies. I mean my site name is I’m a virgo in spanish, so might as well work more on content related to virgos, right?

I also want to de-clutter my emails my messages my saved content and all that.. but I feel like I won’t complete it all next month. Might have to be done in October.

this is an old song but I’ve always loved it. Seeing it live and seeing my fav idol Joy crying makes me want to work more better and be happier so one day I can see my girls live lol

  NUEST’S ALBUM THE TABLE 

I’ve been listening to this album a ton on spotify! I can’t get over it the whole album is so good. I guess the only song I would skip is Trust Me. But it’s still one of those kpop albums where I don’t really HATE even one song.

There’s almost never an album that I can listen to all the way through that’s why I don’t STAN many groups. I usually just like one or a few songs from one artist. For nuest, I enjoy most of their songs so that’s why I guess people would consider me a nuest stan and that’s why I would pay money to see them live, just like I did when I went to see bands live in my high school days.

The same goes for Red Velvet, I have a ton of their songs on my playlists and it’s not just 5 of their songs from their whole discography. It’s sometimes almost their whole albums. If you like my music taste, remember to follow me on spotify!

Nu’est The Nocturne Comeback show and Nuest Lab

So I realized I haven’t finished this show even though I mentioned it a while back. This is the final episode of this series, it ended so abruptly for me but whatever.

  I think i finished this nuest lab series… it was funny and weird, they were breaking eggs smfh

    Itaewon Class

So I’m super obsessed with this show right now. I finally started watching it after it was getting really popular online for some reason. I thought it was popular for being a show for youngsters. Apparently it’s about coming out on top? Well I will try to explain without spilling the beans!

    It’s about a hard past and coming out on top, like the underdog winning in the end. I really like that kind of story because I believe you can get to the top by being a good person, and that’s kinda what this show is about. That’s what it looks like to me at least. Everyone really SUCKS exempt for the main lead, the evil male lead, wow they are so good at being EVIL. I will make a blog post about this show and giving my ratings because OOF there is so much.

I also like the girl that is playing a trans girl. Lee Yoo Jung plays her, and I first loved her when I saw Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Soo! You guys should watch that too. I was watching it probably before I started this series, or before I started this blog even. Anyways, yeah I loved it! I might start posting about dramas I recommend so I can rate them and suggest more for you guys. Would you all enjoy a small series like that?

It was pretty sad but it shows the harsh truths about what immigrants and immigrant families go through all thanks to the evil trump regime, and basically all regimes? Obama’s govn’t wasn’t that pleasant for all families don’t get me wrong.

Dead To Me (finished)

So I finished this show it was pretty dang good! I recommend it if you like drama and suspense with female leads. Also if you’re lgbtq+ it has some of that representation which is something I RARELY ever see on TV shows.

When I started editing this post which was on August 8, I had more than 6k followers, more than 6 million monthly views and 500k engagement. Now it’s finally September and I reached a whole million more than the beginning of the month. I only hope to reach my goals of getting 10m by september!

  Today’s Stats: 7k+ follows, 7 million views Goals: 10 million monthly views by the end of September! I’ll try to work extra hard!

I barely get 200 views now but that’s a huge upgrade considering I would get 50 views daily in the beginning of last year. I’m really happy because it’s so hard to get views up so quick and I somehow did it in about a month.

I met my goal!

Last month I wanted 5k monthly views and I met that goal. I was at 4.7k and this month went up by a lot! I didn’t reach 300 daily views but hopefully we can work towards those bigger goals. I guess in the end it’s best to get comments? Or maybe shares and going viral and making sales. That might be a bigger goal now. I would love to reach more viewers who enjoy my content and find my posts helpful because that’s really why I started my site in the first place.

B: Yes, correct.  L: I mean I guess the way I see it is that there have always been white supremacists in this country, it’s kind of a part of... it’s a PART of the country... hasn’t gone anywhere, I’d say it’s gotten a lot less actually in history... but, I guess, you look at what happened and the situation is not unique, it’s not rare, every year or two years the Klan or whatever, the white supremacists, the neo-Nazis will hold some rally and a couple hundred dudes’ll show up and they march through the streets and they yell whatever they yell and the cops are there to make sure the shit doesn’t get out of orderrrr... Counterprotesters come and tell ‘em how stupid they arrree and everyone just kinda yells at each other and basically everyone goes home and that’s the end of it...  B: Right... Not this time. L: No, not this time, and not just this time in this situation now, it seems like every time people with two different views -- and I’m not even talking about something as extreme as white supremacism or anything, just two groups that have different ideas politically -- every time they get together it’ll turn violent now, and the cops don’t show up, they don’t do their job to keep the order, and so it’s just like two groups of people with clubs meeting in a park somewhere and shit gets violent... B: Right. L: ... and surprise surprise, shit gets violent. The biggest surprise to me is there are white supremacists scattered around the country... and obviously there are, there always have been... it’s just how we sort of relate to each other and, you know, now it’s something that’s obviously going to lead to violence and, referring to the lady’s death, this is the first kind of death in all this shit yet from the girl that got mowed down by that car, that dude driving that car who was a white supremacist and pissed off and I don’t know what the fuck his deal was but he was obviously morally repugnant and responsible for what he did... B: Right... Shit, man, are we just watchin too much UFC or what? L: Eeeeeh, I don’t think so, I think it comes from a lack of moral clarity on people’s behalfs, and I also think it comes froommm... self-righteousness, and I think it comes from lack of personal accountability for who you are and what you believe and your stake in the world. There’s a lot of anger, people are blaming other people for their problems or their shortcomings or whatever and it’s just easy to find a scapegoat and people do it all the time, and I think it’s just getting more and more frequent and more and more intense... I don’t know, it’s sad to see.  B: Yeah man. Well I have a few more follow-up questions, but I mean you already answered most of my follow-up questions, I mean... Why was I asking you about Gold Bond and wenches and menches when I should have just cut to the chase.  L: Drop that bomb. B: That was excellent. It’s a thing Hillary Clinton said when she was about to lose the election and then she lost the election and she was like, Aw yeah, it was Russia, and I’m sittin there like, so... here comes all the evidence and it’s like, oh, well, we’re compiling the evidence, you just wait, you just wait a couple more weeks and we’ll show you the evidence, and then a couple weeks come and go and then a few months and then it’s like, well, you know, it’s not like he talked to Putin but this guy talked to this other guy and another month comes and goes and it’s like, all right, what exactly are you accusing anybody of? Do you have anything to support what you’re saying? B: Right. L: So to answer your question, if the whole narrative in the early stages of this presidency was Trump ran for President because he’s got Russian ties, it’s in his best interest to become President so then he can favor Russian interests and make policy that benefits him, I’m like, okay, well that’s a shitty thing to do but even if what you’re saying is true, even if all that stuff is true, it takes a REALLY fuckin smart guy to win the presidency of the United States of America just so that he can benefit his business interests in Russia? B: Mm. L: Like, even if he’s doing that, whether you like the guy or not, even if he’s doing that you have to admit that if that’s true then that’s a hell of a fucking game that he just pulled off exactly what he was trying to do. B: It’s crazy. I think he’s as shocked as much as anyone. But it’s not about what I have to say, it’s about what you have to say, but, cool, going back to current current events, If Bernie Sanders is President, does the woman get run over by the truck? L: Ummm... I don’t know, that’s a good question. I mean you’d have to just theorize about an alternate path and everything, but I will say that I don’t think the left and... it’s probly gonna piss a lot of people off saying this because Donald Trump kinda just said it in different words but, I happen to agree with him on this, is that recently, in the last year and half, basically two years, since the election cycle started, there’s a HUGE amount of violence comin from the left, it’s all over Berkeley, every time someone gets invited to give a speech at UC Berkeley, these antifa motherfuckers would show up and start swingin bike locks over people’s heads and pepper sprayin people in the face while they’re givin interviews and beatin people to the ground with clubs and shit and like, that was their M.O. and they were not ashamed about it, they said We are the resistance, we’re gonna use violence to silence your political speech, which is fascism, it’s textbook fascism, that’s what it is. B: Right. L: So, I guess the point is that people are feeling that violence is justified to their political ends ... year and half, two years, and so if Bernie was President, I don’t know if that would have changed, it could have just emboldened those people, or maybe people on the other side of the aisle might tend to feel the way people on the left feel now, so they would be more violent, so each group is violent in their own way and they’re all responsible in their own way so, I don’t know if this specific event how it would have played, I don’t know, maybe it would have, but then you gotta ask yourself, would it be less likely that they were gonna tear down Confederate statues or monuments or whatever if Bernie was President? I don’t think it would be likely but it would probably be MORE likely and so you’d still have those people goin there to protest that... B: Yeaaaah. L: ... and then people would counterprotest that, and so, I don’t know that it would be a whole lot different. B: That’s true, I hadn’t thought of that. And I’d kind of already forgotten about this, which is terrible, but when that BERNIE SANDERS EXTREMIST... that’s like an oxymoron, that’s so stupid... shot the Republican... congressman, was it?... Some important member of the Republican Party at the softball game? Do I have my details right? I was like, you’re making us (because I’m obviously more liberal)... I was like, you’re screwing it up for us, man, you’re making us look TERRIBLE! But like you said, people on both sides have a lot of anger right now.  L: Yeah, they do. And I might be wrong about this and people might disagree and I’d be happy to hear ‘em out but I feel like the violence on the left... for example, shutting down free speech and clubbing people and taking the fucking rifle to the ballpark and shooting Republican congressmen... that goes waaaayy under-reported. Like it might get reported but it doesn’t get discussed, they sorta write it off as this freak lunatic fringe thing that’s goin on or, in the case of antifa they say they’re using violence and fighting hate, and it’s like, no, dude, that’s not how it works, to initiate violence you’re wrong all the time. And so they don’t seem to want to say that. B: Right, yeah, I hadn’t even heard of antifa before this past Saturday, I didn’t even know about them. L: Really? B: Because I don’t pay attention to politics as closely as you do. I don’t know how close you do these days, I know you just know. You know some stuff. L: I do. I pay attention. I pay pretty close attention, and to me it’s less about politics and more about culture, and so what I noticed this past winter and this past spring, basically what happened would be... it mostly started at UC Berkeley, for example Ann Coulter who is a conservative writer and commentator for Fox News, she’s really well known, she’s against illegal immigration, she’s kind of against immigration altogether so, you may not agree with her, I don’t agree with her on a whole lot of things, but she’s invited to a college campus to give a speech to a group of probably like-minded people and probably people who disagree with her, she’s invited to give a speech at a university, which you’re supposed to do these things, you know, and they come in and they shut her down and they threaten violence and they show up in fuckin black masks and pepper spray and start beatin the shit out of anyone who tries to get into the hall to hear someone SPEAK. Now, if that’s not fascism defined, then I don’t know what is. B: Yeah, the black mask gives it away usually. And it’s crazy thaaat... Berkeley is probably the campus you think of when you think of, like, peace, love 60s... and now we’re here! L: Oh yeah, the 60s were all about free speech, that was their whole thing, and they won that battle, and like culturally we were doing really well in terms of free speech, that’s why you could have fucking Klan rallies and no one was getting mowed down by cars, a couple hundred dudes would show up, people would fuckin yell at them, tell them they were retards, and it was fine, and they didn’t have any fuckin political power either, there’s no influence, so I just don’t understand why all of a sudden we have to act like five hundred racists in Virginia is indicative of our entire culture, like we have to relate to each other. Like, we’re letting the worst among us define how we relate to each other, and that’s the part that I don’t really get.  B: Yeah. Okay, that was great. Uumm, there’s a famous Rahm Emanuel quote that’s something like, Never let a crisis go to waste. If you were President, what would be the first things you would do after Charlottesville? L: Ohhh boyyy. Lotta moving parts there. I mean obviously you have to address the nation, let ‘em know that.... if this was me, say.... this is absolutely unacceptable, there’s no room in a civilized society for this type of violence, for this type of rhetoric, for these actions. You can call out people by name if you want, like I think Trump called out people by name -- white supremacists, neo-Nazis, KKK -- you could call out the people on the other side if you want. What I would try to do is just leave it pretty blunt and say, Look, if you feel that using violence to achieve your political means is appropriate, you are... wrong. You are basically the definition of terrorism. And you have no place, so you need to find your center, you need to come back to clarify your thoughts, figure out what it is you actually want, what’s making you this angry, and you need to regroup, because it’s not gonna go anywhere if we just meet up in the streets and brawl every time there’s disagreement about how we operate as a country... B: Yeah. L: ... so I think that would be the first thing you do, and then the second thing I would do is just get probably with the governor of states and have them talk to their law enforcement and have them say, Look, shit’s gettin real. You need to have your cops out there all the time to protect people, to preserve people’s rights to assembly, whether it’s to protest or to counterprotest or whatever, cops need to be there, if the cops aren’t there, it’s gonna get bad every single time, and also, stop using your political opinions to give permits, to remove permits, if people want to assemble and there’s no good reason not to, you need to give them a permit to do that, that’s your place, that’s on you, it’s your responsibility to do that, and if you don’t, it’s gonna get ugly and it’s gonna get ugly in your backyard so, you better be very careful about that. B: Yeah.... Are the cops just being, like, pussies or are they saying let’s just let these two groups beat each other up and then we’ll go in, like these people deserve it kind of thing. L: Yeah, I have a theory about that and that’s that nobody, these people who actually show up for these Klan rallies, nobody wants them there... my theory is that, they give ‘em a permit, they take it away, and then basically what they do is they say, You don’t have a permit, I know you guys are all ready to go and everyone’s gonna show up, but now you no longer have a permit, so the cops aren’t gonna be there, so what happens is... you get two groups of people in a small space that wanna kill each other, and they start killin each other, and then they have the stance where, Oh, you see what happens when we just let you be free? You see what happens when we just let you assemble, and it gets violent? Like, we’re the ones that need to decide who can have a permit and who can’t, who can say what and who can’t, because when we try it your way it gets violent... and I think that’s a big part of what’s goin on.  B: Yeah. (wasn’t fully paying attention for a second so asks a stupid question) Well aren’t you glad that they’re gonna step in? Aren’t you glad that the government is there, in this case?

L: Well yes and no, if they’re there they need to do their jobs. If you have a group of five hundred people that request a permit to have a rally in a park, you need to give them the permit, unless there’s some reeaaally good reason why, and it can’t just be... B: So let them exercise their free speech.  L: Let them exercise their free speech and also understand that there are gonna be people who disagree with them who are gonna come out and counterprotest, so you need to have cops there, cops there to keep the order. This is why Klan rallies in the 70s, it was like two people got punched in the face and everyone was yellin. B: Okay, okay, I see what you’re saying, I understand more clearly now. So you’re saying they’re intentionally sabotaging the permits and hanging back, letting people beat each other up, so then they can come in and say, We’re here to save the day, we’re awesome, you guys are idiots. 

L: Yeah, you guys are idiots, you can’t have this type of speech, you can’t meet in these places, and we’ll call the shots. We’ll be the ones who decide who can and who cannot speak and when they can speak and who gets arrested and all this shit.  B: I mean... I see what you’re saying. I can see what you’re saying. Okay, so, are you surprised that it happened in the same town as one of the best public universities in the country and that some of the members of the alt right group were UVA alumni? L: Uhhh... no. I mean all this stuff tends to gravitate towards universities, because in theory it should be where a lot of the intellectual discussions take place, centered around universities, number two I would imagine that Klansmen and the political science department at UVA don’t see eye to eye? B: Haha. L: I’m guessin that they have sort of a different take on things? B: Haha, I don’t know, man, I’m questioning everything these days but... probably not. L: Yeah, well again, who knows? But no, it doesn’t surprise me. It kinda makes more sense that it would happen there than just about anywhere else, I guess. So, sorry, what was the thing about the alt right being UVA alum? I saw Brad for a few minutes last night and he said that, on Reddit probably, people were identifying members, the white supremacists and people on that side. They were, you know, blowing up the pictures, circling them, identifying all of them, or as many as they could. L: Yeah yeah, that’s a big thing. I see that all the time, it’s like, we found this guy and name his hometown, he was at the rally and he fuckiiinn... swung a fist at somebody and now we’re gonna expose him and blah blah blah, which is, I get why they do it, it’s kind of a weird fuckin thing to do though. B: It’s crazy. L: There’s something really creepy about that. B: It’s like, yeah, Big Brother kind of. Not saying they’re wrong to do it, it’s just bizarre.  L: Right, and who the fuck are these people who are deciding who are the ones that need to be... exposed? It all goes back, for me, to, you need to have protection for free speech, people need to be able to say, even if you fuckin hate it, because the only other alternative to free speech is violence.  B: I would say that’s the main cornerstone of the country, right? Free speech?  L: Yeah, but people don’t seem to get that, like I hear all the time people sayin shit like, Yeah, I defend free speech but I don’t defend hate speech, I’m for free speech for these people but not for these people, it’s like, no, you don’t get it. B: Right... It’s like therapy! For the neo-Nazis, they have to get it out, and then they just go back to their daily lives and their 9 to 5 jobs and their little country houses or whatever, not to belittle them.  L: And personally I like knowing who the racists are. I want people to be able to speak freely so that they acknowledge and they expose themselves as being racist or ignorant or whatever it is, like if you’re sayin that no one can say anything hateful anymore then we all just look like the same person, and so I’m associating with hardcore racists and buying products from them and hangin out with them or whatever and then nobody’s saying anything, especially if I was a minority in that part of the country where it seems to be a bit more prevalent, like if I was black in Virginia right now, I would want racists to be very vocal, because I would want to know exactly who they are.  B: Right, now I see. I gotcha. That’s a good way to think of it. L: Thanks. B: I just was thinking... and not that anything about these riots or showdowns is funny but... I was just thinking about like a blown-up picture of you on Reddit, you just happen to be walkin through, just like scratchin a lottery ticket or somethin, just wrong place, wrong time. L: Haha... Have you talked to your parents in the last few days about all of this?  L: Uuumm, no, actually they were up here last week and I got to see them and I actually saw your mom too and spent a little time with all three of them. B: Yup. L: But no, I haven’t talked to them, I haven’t really talked to many people while I’m up here just cuz it’s hard to communicate. B: Yeah, it’s such a bubble... It’s like a biodome. I should probably mention for anyone reading this that your parents are from North Carolina, so they’re southern so they’re a little more rooted in at least the Charlottesville thing, not that we all aren’t... Okay, so how much do you think your anarchocuriousness and your love for ruffling liberal feathers is just you still rebelling against your liberal and politically active parents and brother? Or is your brain just made up a little differently? L: That’s a good question, I don’t see it that way, basically because I agreed with everything they did until I was in my mid-to-late twenties, like it’s not that recent that I started to really strongly disagree with them politically.  B: Right. You guys have always had spirited political debates though... right? L: Yeah, we do, oh, absolutely. That’s kind of a big part of how we grew up is like, well, we’d have dinner together every night or most nights sittin around the table and it would always turn political one way or another. B: Right, we should mention that your dad, Jim, is a political scientist, or was... Probly still is, right? That doesn’t go away. L: Yup, a professor. Yup, yup, they’re all... left of... well see I don’t even know if they’re left of center anymore, it’s kinda weird... There’s this new political realignment goin on right now where I don’t know if it’s helpful to categorize anybody, I don’t know if anybody feels confident categorizing themselves anymore, we kinda gotta see where this new realignment ends up. B: Right. I mean they’re very liberal.  L: They’re very liberal. In most cases I am too. I mean politically if I had to define myself I think I would be a Libertarian, and that’s about as socially liberal as you can get, that’s about people livin their lives the way they see fit and not tellin anybody they can or can’t marry anybody or worship or do whatever they want. Like, go nuts, that’s fine, that’s the way I want it, that’s the way I like it. I mean that’s about as liberal as it gets in that sense, the conservatism comes in more in an economic sense, and umm... that’s kind of about it. I think it was Dave Rubin that said, defending liberal principles has become a conservative position this day and age, so you’re defending free speech and you’re defending individual rights and you’re defending economic freedom, all those classical liberal principles, somehow they’ve become far right now. It’s weird to me. B: Yeah... huh. Yeah, I hadn’t thought about it that way.  L: Yeah, and so I don’t try to do anything intentionally to ruffle liberal feathers, although I do take a bit of joy in it at times. B: Haha.  L: Really I just enjoy the argument and I enjoy pursuing truth and I think if feathers get ruffled in the process I don’t have any problem with that.  B: Right. This goes with the rebellion thing, which you say you don’t think you’re doing, but do you still have a leather jacket?  L: Oh, geez. Uhh... no. I haven’t had a leather jacket in quite some time. They’re expensive.  B: I know, man.
