Ronald Boyd "Ronnie" DeVoe Jr. (born November 17, 1967), known as R.D.., Ronnie D., Ron, Big Ron, or Ron-Ron Smooth mello fello, is one of the members of the R&B/pop group New Edition, and the R&B/hip hop group Bell Biv DeVoe. He was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts. He was the second-to-last member to join New Edition (Johnny Gill being the last) after being brought in by his uncle and the group's choreographer, Brooke Payne. In 1981, the group took second place at a talent show which caught the eye of record producer, Maurice Starr, who signed them to his Streetwise record label. New Edition went on to become the biggest-selling boy band group from the mid to late 1980s. After New Edition's 1990 breakup, he and fellow New Edition members, Ricky Bell and Michael Bivins formed the R&B/hip-hop group, Bell Biv DeVoe. Bell Biv DeVoe's 1990 debut album, Poison, sold more than 5 million copies and garnered five hit singles such as "Poison" and "B.B.D. (I Thought It Was Me)?". In 1993, he and the group released their follow-up album, Hootie Mack. He began to appear as a guest member of BravoTV's The Real Housewives of Atlanta, as he is often seen with his wife, Shamari, who became a regular cast member when Season 11 premiered on November 4, 2018. He still performs and records with New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe and is co-owner of DeVoe Broker Associates, a real estate agency in Atlanta. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence https://www.instagram.com/p/ClD8Tm_r89H/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

What’s Next For RHOA?
Tumblr media
I wasn’t a big fan of season 12, even if they did some much necessary changes with the cast.
Bringing Kenya Moore back was the right move, but did Bravo get rid of some essential people at the production crew as well as Shamari DeVoe?
No matter how much drama Kenya brought with her troubled marriage, I wasn’t feeling the vibe. Snakegate and the Cookie Monster were some of the stories that just disappeared without a trace or explanation.
I’m also a little disappointed about the fake storylines and fabricated scenes with “press”. I also doesn’t want feuds on social media if it won’t be a part of the show.
After season 11 I claimed that Porsha Williams was the New Queen of Atlanta, and that statement still stands. I would dare to say that she has become essential to the show. She makes me laugh and her reads are entertaining.
It’s a very different story with Nene Leakes. She isn’t what she used to be. Where’s the fun Nene? Where’s the quirkiness, jokes and spot on shades?
I think that she wants to direct the narrative on the show to take back her place as the Queen of the show. But she should leave before the show destroys her.
And I think that Nene has a bad attitude to filming. When the heat is on her she storms off the set like a diva.
Isn’t that what they criticized Kim Zolciak-Biermann for before she quit? Acting like she was better than the rest?
Nene is disrupting the dynamics in the group and makes it exhausting to watch group settings. It’s time to let Nene go.
I also think it’s time to let Cynthia Bailey go. And it wouldn’t be a great loss to lose Eva Marcille as well.
I would hate to sound like a hater, but it’s time to bring on new blood to the show. I would much rather see more housewives of the same age as Porsha.
The show needs more energy, new blood, who can bring back some of funny, shady fights and genuine friendships.
