I'm doing an episode bracket for Doctor Who! The highest ranking episodes will be put up against each other! I'll probably have to split up the results in half, but we will see how it turns out!

Father's Day is such a good episode:
-At that point we've already seen the Doctor make trauma related decisions that put Rose at risk (the Gelth and Dalek).
This time around we get to see the reverse and have them work that out.
-The Doctor realizing he will do just about anything for her.
-Rose showing just how much she understands of the Doctor's internal workings with calling him out on why he's lashing out and her confidence that he won't just abandon her there.
-Them having this huge argument but actually being able to communicate and work through it.
-That despite their argument, the Doctor refuses to take the 'easy' option of letting Pete die again in front of Rose to save the day.
-That this episode is chalk full of messy relationships. Pete and Jackie are struggling. They're at a friend's shotgun wedding where the groom's father is trying to talk him out of it. The Doctor and Rose are fighting. Rose has to set Pete straight about how he approaches her and Pete's having an existential crisis about why he's treating this girl like a daughter.
It's an episode about how messy relationships can be while still loving each other.
-The way certain shots are paralleled between Rose's interactions with Pete versus with the Doctor to show the difference of relationships.
-Pete being shown as clever in very similar ways to Rose. How he starts noticing the inconsistencies and puts it together for himself that he'll have to sacrifice himself.
-The Doctor's hints of longing for an ordinary life and his utter reverence for the most normal human things.
-That what Rose wanted and her reactions are so very human and relatable, but that it's treated with the same weight and respect as the Doctor's own struggles/trauma.
-Rose's whole thing about not wanting people to be alone. She doesn't want her dad to die alone. She doesn't want the Doctor to be alone.
-That she still did get to make a difference in the end, that she could make a little change in time that didn't destroy everything but that her dad didn't die alone and her mom got some peace in knowing that too.

It’s Sherlock’s anniversary! Let’s celebrate by watching the first series EXACTLY 13 years after each of the episodes was originally broadcast.
How to take part:
Grab your copies of A Study in Pink, The Blind Banker, and The Great Game.
Meet in The Giant Chat of Sumatra Discord's #giantchat text channel to watch and hang out.
Arrive early! To make sure we’re watching these episodes exactly 13 years after the original airing, we’ll each be hitting play on our copies right at the start time. If you’re late, you’ll have to fast-forward to catch up.
Please note that The Blind Banker’s anniversary watchalong starts half an hour earlier than the other two. Don’t blame me—that’s how the BBC originally scheduled them.
Watchalong Schedule:
A Study in Pink
Tuesday, July 25 at 9:00 pm UK time / 4:00 pm US Eastern time (convert to your date & time)
The Blind Banker
Tuesday, August 1 at 8:30 pm UK time / 3:30 pm US Eastern time (convert to your date & time)
