YALL my dnd group just fought a full grown red dragon. We had her in critical condition and 4 of our 7 party members are down and I asked my dm if there was anything I could do to get her to attack me instead (bc I was at relatively full health) then I could prevent any of my party members getting any more death saves. (It was after committing to this that I found out the dragon got three attacks per round if she wasn’t using her breath weapon 🤪 and then my dm crit on one of them. My turn was next in initiative and I was supposed to mass healing word the party. I went down by only 9 HP. I had 46 HP and my dm did a total of 55 damage over three attacks including a crit.
THEN we made it back to top of initiative without anyone dying. Another of our clerics cast healing word on another cleric party member THEN Wither and Bloom, killing the dragon and giving me the ability to roll a hot dice and “bloom”! The second cleric Cure Wounds-Ed a party member with two failed death saves. Dragon is dead. We make it back to me, alive and well now. I Mass Healing Word the party and somehow, despite 6 out of 7 of us going down, we all survived!
Also for context, we are playing Tomb of Annihilation. We’re talking perma-death perma death. 4 of the 7 of us are clerics but even we can’t do anything if any of us full die this campaign. This fight was so intense. (Also we call ourselves the Amen bc hello oops almost all clerics)
I very much regretted my heroic noble hero move bc then we would have had one less round of stress, but it made for such an epic move and it felt like the in character thing to do. My character is very much like full healer cleric, but seeing her friends down would absolutely step in to try and save them any way she could.

kill yourself, you'd be doing the world a favor
You know what kills me more efficiently than tepid online suicide baiting? The sheer stupidity, the utter lack of imagination, the absolute inadequacy of the hapless worms that still do it despite all evidence of the total impotence of the practice; though most of all, what truly floors me is the patheticness of the moronic, witless children whose only move in the great game of rhetoric is to go anonymous and proffer insults to strangers because they are braindead before contradiction. It sure would kill them to manifest good manners.
So, unless I'm mistaken, this somewhat electrified missive is the result of a comment I made on a post that crossed my Dashboard a couple days ago, in which a great many Tumblrinas waxed anguished poetry over a proposed bill from the United States Republicans ‘that would ban any exposure to transgenderism to children under the age of 10’ nationwide. Indeed, Mike Johnson of Louisiana introducing a bill titled ‘Stop the Sexualization of Children Act of 2022’, which is understood as ‘loaded language’ and ‘horrific shit’, the contents of the bill liable to endanger ‘queers’ in general.
My comment was along the lines of remarking that it was hardly a surprise to find Conservatives seize the opportunity to appear as saviours of the little children when the American left was so deeply involved with the most questionable aspects of transactivism that they would rather sacrifice children's safety than risk to dissatisfy too great a portion of their current electorate.
Let's dive in a bit, shall we?
Congress finds the following:
(1) Certain school districts that receive Federal grants have implemented sexual education for children under 10 years of age.
(2) Many newly implemented sexual education
curriculums encourage discussions of sexuality, sexual orientation, transgenderism, and gender ideology as early as kindergarten.
(3) State and local library systems, museums, and other educational institutions that receive Federal grants have purchased sexually-oriented literature and materials that target preadolescent children and teach them about concepts like masturbation, pornography, sexual acts, and gender transi-13
tion.
(4) Private organizations, State government agencies, and local government agencies have made use of Federal grants to host and promote sexually oriented events like drag queen story hours and burlesque shows.
(5) Federal agencies like the Department of Defense have used Federal funds to promote and host burlesque shows and drag shows on Federal property during family-oriented events.
What the bill proposes to prohibit being the following:
SEC. 4. PROHIBITING THE PRESENTATION OF SEXUALLY-ORIENTED MATERIALS TO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 10
(a) FEDERAL FUNDS LIMITATION .—No Federal funds may be made available to develop, implement, facilitate, or fund any sexually-oriented program, event, or literature for children under the age of 10, including hosting or promoting any program, event, or literature involving sexually-oriented material, or any program, event, or literature that exposes children under the age of 10 to nude adults, individuals who are stripping, or lewd or lascivious dancing.
(b) PROHIBITION AT FEDERAL FACILITIES .—A federally-owned facility or property may not be used to host or promote any sexually-oriented program, event, or literature for children under the age of 10, including any program, event, or literature listed in subsection (a).
By ‘sexually-oriented material’, the bill means the following:
The term ‘‘sexually-oriented material’’ means any depiction, description, or simulation of sexual activity, any lewd or lascivious depiction or description of human genitals, or any topic involving gender identity, gender dysphoria, transgenderism, sexual orientation, or related subjects.
I would generally advise you to read the bill, which is very short, and would set apart from the vast majority of those commenting on it, especially those claiming that its passing would mean to fire all ‘trans teachers, trans workers in hospitals that serve children, counselors, social workers’. A statement which is interesting in and of itself, since it presumes transgender childcare professional all by definition promote stripping or child transition, something I personally refuse to believe.
@auntiewanda, feel free to touch with all of your mitts, as I believe your infamous hashtag about the ‘Regressive Left’ has rarely been apter than today. You are also gifted with so much more patience than I am.
Let's discuss the Western middle class' tendency to reblog just about anything as it's been stamped with a 'That's what the nice people think!' label, eh?
@aridara said:
1) False, trans activists didn't set back any women's or gay rights. Conservatives - including transphobes - did that.
2) Name one single privately-owned women's group that was anti-trans, but then was obligated to accept trans people. I bet that you can't.
3) Deplatformed for WHAT, exactly? Bring specific examples.
4) Transition isn't just surgery or hormones, you ignorant buffoon. Jesus Christ, you guys are obsessed with children's genitals.
Oh, honey. Oh you sweet summer child.

For those that aren't in Australia right now, we have the funniest scandal going on.
Firstly let us introduce you to the eye of the storm: Sam Kerr. Sam is a women's soccer player who has in the last year become one of the most famous and beloved athletes in Australia. Captain of the women's national team, Sam became something of a cult figure after the last Women's Soccer World Cup became a complete unpredicted sensation in Australia, with the whole country getting behind the team.
Sam, up until now, has had probably one of the most squeaky clean images in sport. Generally in Australia it is not uncommon for our sports stars to be caught up in scandals involving drugs:
violence:
drinking their own urine:
or if you're cricket legend Shane Warne, probably all three at once.
Contrasting all this, Sam's image as the squeaky clean saviour for sport made it all the more shocking this last week, when it was announced that Kerr was to face trial after having been charged by the UK police of a "racially aggravated offence" involving a taxi driver.
This was shocking news. Nobody knew what to make of it. Sam was a model for young girls everywhere and a national treasure. "This is why we can't have nice things" screamed the nation. It seemed like all hope was lost.
That is, until, yesterday, when the UK police finally revealed the full details of the case, in which Sam Kerr, sporting legend, was arrested for vomiting in a cab, and then telling an intervening police officer that he was a “stupid white bastard”.
Now we probably don't need to point out that in Australia, vomiting in a taxi and then calling a cop a bastard is about as close to a national culture as we have.
You could not have come up with a better headline to make someone a national hero.
Needless to say, Sam in now being hailed down under as the greatest legend that ever lived, and a petition has already been started to have her picture added to the $5 note.
The tide has swung so far that not one, but TWO, state Premiers have spoken out in support of Kerr, and the Prime Minister has even gone on the record describing her as "a delight".
And so ends the racial abuse saga of our greatest sports hero of all time, and the very first reverse milkshake duck to ever exist.
