casually drops this number like it’s nothing … sure he’s immortal and has spent way longer in arguably worse conditions, and doctor who fans are desensitised to incredibly long intervals of time spent just waiting, but rory was plastic for those 2000 years guarding amy and twelve never remembered any of his 4.5 billion apart from the 3-day cycle he spent alive before burning up. jack was conscious and aware and human for every fucking second of those nineteen years. in a maximum security prison. just going off the rumour that he’d find the doctor there. can you imagine . the devotion is insane and it never wavers

thinking about how jack spent 20 years in prison just to break the doctor out just because he heard a rumor that she was in there..... fuck

I have seen a lot of funny things but the Daleks in Germany shouting 'exterminieren' at the top of their none existing lungs is still the single most hilarious thing I ever saw

Just watched "Revolution of the Daleks" and i'm just, god i'm so sad for the doctor here.
she spent decades in prison, barely holding it together, keeping her fam in mind as she kept herself from going crazy.
and when she finds them, which is the first thing she does when she's free, she tells them "i've been in space jail!"
and all of them- graham and yaz and ryan- all of them are angry that she was gone for 10 months. not ONE of them asked her how long it had been for her. not one of them even thought to ask how she was holding up. even if they didn't think that she'd been gone longer than 10 months, she'd still been in jail!
the doctor would have been well justified to be angry with them and tell them she'd been away from them for far longer than they could even comprehend.
but she doesn't. instead she takes on the guilt and the blame, like it was her fault she was arrested and locked up! like she has something to apologise for.
i'm just so sad for her right now

Thinking about the 13/Fam reunion in ROTD and how ten months had passed for the Fam:
(thanks to chakoteya.net for the episode transcript)
DOCTOR: No, it can't be. I set identical temporal coordinates to when I sent you back.
GRAHAM: Yeah, but your time machine ain't the best at running to time, is it, Doc?
DOCTOR: I'm sorry.
RYAN: Yeah, well, it's done now, so...
And maybe it's not so much her time machine not being the best at running to time, as Graham suggests.
Maybe it's her time machine telling her no, you don't get to just go back to where you left off with them, just say "hey, I was in space jail" and then act as though it was no big deal. You need to see the impact that your being gone for almost a year has had on these three people who care for you very much.
And on one person in particular.

I do love that Yaz has seen the Doctors whole planet destroyed by the Master, essentially beside the Master making her the last of her kind. Knows she left to sacrifice herself and so has no idea what traumas could have happened. Hasn’t seen her in 10 months, shes just said she was in space jail and so she’s probably been through some shit for who knows how long because Yaz knows that their time apart might not be the same length because timey wimey and stuff and because Yaz feels so many things and clearly just wants to kiss her but can’t she chooses violence… and it’s such a Doctor thing to do. And I adore it for it’s insane subtext. Don’t do violence but also it’s just funny how Doctor she’s being in this scene I can’t be mad at her. Really who can be mad at Yaz she puts up with so much.
Revolution is clearly the Thasmin pilot episode. Wish we could have seen a non pandemic version of series 13 Flux.
