Day 1 - Regal

Just saw that scene in Rapunzels Tangled Adventure where Varian is pleading for Rapunzel to help him with his dad.

And look I understand both of there sides but where Rapunzel looses me is when the guards drag Varian away because he's in distress and she DOES NOTHINGGGG!!! I understand she's under a lot of pressure and stress with everything going on, but she just stands there. And all she says is "don't hurt him", how about telling them not to kick this 14 year old out into a severe blizzard that could KILL HIM.

She should have at the very least tried to convince him to stay there until the storm had passed and she could go with him to help. Yes by that point it'd be too late and yes Varian likely wouldn't have agreed but that's so much better than throwing this heavily distressed child into the harsh conditions of the storm outside.

All I'm saying is if I were Varian I might have kidnapped the queen too.

been thinkin about how in the same episode, we had Xavier tell how Demanitus "[used] both magic and science" to create his device that saved the kingdom

and then we witnessed Varian combine the magic of the black rocks with the science of alchemy to create something that ruined his life.

Eugene Fitzherbert: You broke my smolder.

Varian: Rapunzel! My dad's in danger, you...you're the only one who can help! Please! You have to come to Old Corona with me! Now!

Rapunzel: Varian, what's wrong?

Varian: Please, please, the rocks...they're--they're encasing my dad!

Princess Rapunzel: Encasing? Wh--what are you saying?

Varian: Come! Come! See for yourself. You can help! I I know you can! You have a connection to these rocks!!

Princess Rapunzel: Varian, it's a state of emergency here! I'm sorry...I-I-I can't help you! Not right now.

Guard: Your Majesty, please. Whatever the boy's problem, it must be set aside. The storm's growing stronger by the second.

Does (how) Jeremy Jordan influenced Varian creation process? Idk why the belief that he was more than just va got stuck in my head and I'm more than happy to be proven either wrong or right

What was fans response to Varian before QFAD? I wasn't around then

I need this for science, for real this time XD In my country fan convention works with the hands of volunteers (not sure if that’s a thing abroad), one part of that is anyone can propose workshop / lecture / TedTalk / Ihavenoideahowtoproperlytranslate”prelekcja”inEnglish and if you get chosen you’re doing your thing and anyone on the con can come to see what you prepared. And I’m doing “He made us hear him. Varian from Tangled phenomenon” TedTalk! But there are some things I don’t remember / can’t find the source ect. Probably not the last post of that sort. Casual reminder that Lance got a very small heroic moment in “Queen For A Day,” when he caught Frederic again after Eugene lost his grip on him. The audience didn’t even get to see him climbing back down, but he did, and then he saved Eugene from guilt and Rapunzel and Arianna from mourning.
