sorry for having thoughts about the evil car again but oh my God this whole scene is so fucked!!! such wanton cruelty on Professor Zündapp's part that shows off how smooth, efficient and calculating he really is. the whole time Acer’s interrogating Rod, Zündapp just calmly explains exactly how Rod’s body is going to break down thanks to his weapon...it’s a genuine act of physical and psychological torture. but the second Zündapp realises Mater has the device, the theatrics are over. whatever pleasure he was getting out of torturing Rod is irrelevant, because Rod is no longer necessary...to Zündapp, he was as good as scrap the moment he set wheel into the Lemons’ lair. i know many fans wish we’d gotten Zil as the Big Bad, and i definitely do feel Miles wasn’t the best choice, but i think Zündapp would’ve been a killer stand-alone villain. he’s such a chilling presence, and always a step (or ride?) ahead of everyone else...his intelligence, power and motive are never in doubt. definitely one of my favourite animated villains of all time 🚘🔥

The only explanations for Professor Zündapp being playable in Cars 2: The Video Game is
1. It’s apart of his jail sentence and wants it to be shorter so he joins the spy agency to atone for his misdeeds
2. He’s going through a kind of redemption/rehabilitation arc and Finn Mcmissile decided to help out the lemons (like give them better care and stuff) so he made a deal with Otto Wolfgang Zündapp that if he stops his evil schemes, him and the lemons will get the help they need.
Idk this is just my speculation lol

Okay, people, let's talk about villains. Well, not everyone here is a villain. It's more like antagonists
I've ranked the antagonists of Cars and Planes.Yes, such an imperfect number of villains/antagonists...well, what can I do. There are only two lemons here because the others....personally I don't remember them in any way and I can't say anything about them. I'd be happy if you could share your rating too.
7. Ripslinger
Last place, hehehe. Rip is a classic "villain." He doesn't have any striking special traits. He's shown too...stereotypical. I refined him in my head, but we're evaluating what Disney originally gave us, right?
6. Cad Spinner
All of the Planes villains were beaten by Cars villains...it sucks. Cad is not a villain. He doesn't wish evil on anyone at all, it's just that his actions...interfere with the protagonist's actions. It's cool that they created such an atypical Disney antagonist. He'd rank higher if...he didn't annoy me so much. Cad is a very annoying character, I can't stand him. And he's unbelievably stupid. Impossibly stupid. Also...For the first time I watched "Planes: Fire and Rescue" in Russian dubbing, and his russian voice pisses me off
5. Sterling
A hypocrite, much like Spinner. But unlike Cad, he doesn't piss me off. He is so handsome. Such a hidden antagonist
4. Jackson Storm.
Well...just a regular bad guy. Here's the truth. He's not charismatic, he doesn't have anything special. He's ordinary, and he didn't evoke any emotion from me. That's why he's in the middle of the rating
3. Miles Axlerod
Miles is a badass. Can't even argue with that. To come up with a plan like that. That's cool. And I keep forgetting he's a villain, hah
2. Professor Zündapp.
He's an evil genius. This means smart. We love the smart ones. He made me laugh a lot as a kid. Also..when i was silly (but when i wasn't?) I thought he can't spell r. I can't spell r too. Later i realized he just has a german accent..
1. Chick Hicks
He's awesome, he's charismatic. He's the type of character that's awesome in the movies, but you wouldn't want to hang out with them in real life. So? His charisma. HIS CHARISMA. It's something

#3 and #16 for Professor Z? And if it's not too much, maybe #17 for Francesco?
Sleeping and anger (Zündapp):
These both go hand in hand or tyre in tyre with the professor. He doesn't get a large quantity of sleep. As for the quality of the sleep he gets, lets just say its minimal at best. Unfortunately its the curse he bares for his intellect. His mind does not stop racing, even when its supposed to be wind down time. And of course, he answers its neverending call. He will get up, write, go back to bed, try to sleep, fail, get up, write some more, go back to bed. This cycle continues until both his brain and his body reach relatively the same levels of exhaustion and he is finally able to drift into the depths of slumber. But bad dreams often haunt him. Dreams of his past and potential future. He only ever really sleeps "well" when he is ill and his body calls the shots that his mind seemingly cannot. He will sleep sometimes for days when this happens. He finds it easier to sleep when he can breathe in a familiar scent. He loves the smell of hyacinths as it reminds him of his childhood home and the garden out back. So, when sleep troubles become too much to bare, he will douse his linen and room with hyacinth purfume, which helps him settle down and fall into sleep a little easier.
He is most angry when he hasn't slept well. Hence his seemingly constantly fluctuating state of irritation and boredom. Zündapp is incredibly easy to anger, and, like potassium in water, said anger is explosive. He hates having his authority questioned and will not stand for it. He also will not abide the questioning of his knowledge. He's happy to have calm debates around his subjects of interest, but NEVER tell him his information is wrong. Especially when it comes to science. The man could give Stephen Hawking a run for his money.
Soft spot (Francesco):
Of course, its canon, Francesco LOVES his mama. She is the absolute light of his life and the very reason he has worked so hard in his career. He always wants to make her proud. You'd think on his off time between races, he would be exploring the world and flaunting himself to large crowds, but the opposite is true. He prefers to simply go home and spend time with his mama, helping her with chores and cooking. Which brings me to his soft spot: Mamas home cooking. He would travel all the way around the world to get back home when she rings the proverbial dinner bell. And he has. If he gets a message from his mama saying she wants to have dinner with her son, hes there, regardless of where he is and what he walks away from. And he has zero shame in his love for her. Mama comes first. Always.
(This ask has me gently simping for Francesco).

psst. i am fixating today and was wondering - any headcanons or things you like about Professor Zündapp? 😉💖
Nooooo, you shouldn't, you shouldn't have asked me about him…
Tumblr media
Look, I'm embarrassed if this ends up being too long a text but… there will definitely be some selfship stuff.
1.- Zundapp is apathetically affectionate, I mean, the greatest show of affection you can receive from him is that he smiles at you and says "good job". always him to keep a certain distance from people (cars?) In case they betray him or die, so seeing him being affectionate is something that he reserves only for his weapons. Although the true way in which he shows affection is by spending time with you and sharing all his knowledge, coming to make excuses to spend more time with you or knowing about you.
which brings us to…
2.-He feels some panic when someone shows him affection, it is rare that someone is kind to an old car and given his history he has many reasons to be suspicious. And when that affection comes from someone he likes is confused and shy most of the time, he knows that he likes to feel appreciated by you, but he also doesn't want to be so weak in case something happens.
3.- He is obsessive, or at least he likes to investigate things very well in a somewhat paranoid way. If there is something that he does not know, he will investigate it; So it's possible that he spent weeks researching you before having a first interaction with you, or even if it's actually the first time you've met, he's going to spend a long time getting to know you.
and this is mixed with
4.- He is not good with modern things, he is the type of adult who knows everything about industrial mechanisms but do not put an instagram reel on him because he will have to put on glasses, move his face away 20km to see him so that at end when he take the mobile turn it off.
So, most of the interactions that you have is going dont know what the other is talking about, and for their part they will be all the time making small notes of the things you say to look for them later.
5.- Zundapp spends a lot of time locked up between his machines and plans, and when I say a lot, it's A LOT. So the fact that he goes out to get some sunlight is quite an event, yes I know that in Cars 2 he spends his time living with other cars but I have that mental image of him spending long periods of time isolated in his workshop for later leave for a few months before going into isolation again or being thrown in prison.
For what very possibly you end up becoming the only social interaction he have in weeks on many occasions.
7.-And even if it doesn't seem like it, he really likes to be in the middle of the action, the adrenaline rush that comes from being in a chase or even when he's already been caught makes him really happy. Of course, like everyone else, he is afraid of feeling pain or of dying, but going to prison, escaping, committing crimes is a routine that he enjoys and it would feel strange if he left all that.
I'm really sorry if there are any grammar mistakes, it's 3 in the morning and my head is dying 🕴

Zündapp Janus 750 (AKA: Professor Otto Wolfgang Zündapp in “Cars 2″).
Those familiar with Roman mythology may remember Janus, the god for whom the month of January is named. The deity, believed to have the power to look into the past and future, is always depicted with two faces — one facing forward and one facing backward. Though the namesake Zundapp Janus microcar does not have any psychic abilities, it does have doors on both ends providing passengers with perfect front and rear views.
The tiny vehicle was the brainchild of German motorcycle manufacturer Zundapp, which ventured into the car business in 1957. While most bubble cars, which were all the rage in the 1950s and 1960s, had room for just one or two people, the Zundapp Janus could fit four – two facing forward and two facing the rear. The seats could also be flattened and used as a bed in case the owner decided to camp inside overnight! However, thanks to its small 245cc one-cylinder two-stroke engine that produced 14 horsepower, it could only reach a top speed of 50 mph (80kmh). When filled to capacity with passengers, the car was even slower! The good thing was that the Janus had comfortable MacpHerson strut-stype suspension. And like a sports car, it was mid-engined. Unfortunately the rear passengers would weigh more than the motor, making the centre of gravity vary depending on how many people were in the car. And besides the lack of power, it also skipped a lot of modern features and creature comforts for the time.Given that there were numerous faster, cheaper, and more conventional-looking microcars already on the market, the off-beat Zundapp Janus proved a failure and production was halted in 1958 after just 6,902 models had been made.

1958 Porsche 356 A Coupe
The Porsche 356A (T2) Speedster September 1957 to August 1958 (Carrerra Speedsters continued into 1959)
The last of the 356A Speedsters are probably the most attractive and the most desirable. The 356A (T2) Speedster was introduced in September 1957 and continued until the basic Speedster was replaced by the Convertible D in August 1958 although a number of Carrera, GS and GT Speedsters were produced in 1959.
History:
Ferdinand Porsche and the foundation of the Porsche Company
Ferdinand Porsche was born on September 3rd 1875, in the Bohemian village of Maffersdor. After attending grammar school and Staatsgewerbeschule (State Vocational School) in Reichenberg, he entered his father's metalworking business. The young and imaginative Ferdinand pursued a fascination with electricity working on the design of an electric car and in 1900 The Lohner-Porsche electric car is presented at the World Fair in Paris. Porsche's wheel hub engines brought the young engineer international attention. In the same year, he developed an all-wheel-drive racecar, as well as a hybrid petrol/electric vehicle.
In 1906 Ferdinand Porsche became Technical Director at Austro-Daimler in Wiener Neustadt. At the age of only 31, he became responsible for the model range of one of Europe's largest automotive concerns.
In September1909 Ferdinand's first son, Ferdinand Anton Ernst Porsche, later known as 'Ferry', was born. In 1910 The Austro-Daimler touring car designed by Ferdinand Porsche scores a triple victory in the Prince Henry Trials.
In 1923 as Technical Director and Board Member of the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft in Stuttgart, Ferdinand Porsche was responsible for the design of the legendary Mercedes Compressor Sports Car and in the following year, he led the development of the 2-litre racecar won the Targa Florio. The Mercedes-Benz S-Type models dominate international motorsport from 1927.
Professor Ferdinand Porsche 1875-1951
In 1931 Ferdinand Porsche founded the company that bears his name "Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche GmbH" to provide 'engineering and consultation on engine and vehicle design'. Based in Stuttgart the company carried out projects for manufacturers such as as Wanderer, Zündapp and NSU. In 1933 Porsche developed a Grand Prix mid-engined 16-cylinder racecar for Auto Union. He also developed a rear engined compact vehicle concept for NSU.
One year later the Porsche company received an official order for the design and construction of a German 'Peoples Car' or Volkswagen. The prototype was developed and assembled in the garage of the Porsche villa in Stuttgart and was road tested within 12 months At the same time production facilities were being set up for the Volkswagen which was officially called the 'KdF-Wagen'.
In December 1935 Ferdinand Alexander Porsche the first son of Ferry Porsche (and later known as 'Butzi') was born in Stuttgart.
During 1939 Porsche developed 3 racing coupés for long-distance endurance competition. These 'BerlinRome-Wagens' could be considered the forerunners of later Porsche sports cars.
He also designed the Mercedes T-80 in1939 to conquer the world land speed record. It was reputed to have a 3000 hp aircraft engine.
Because of the outbreak of the second world war Volkswagen production was diverted towards the military version of the Beetle, the Kübelwagen and Schwimmwagen. Only 1207 Volkswagen KdFs were built between 1941 and 1944
Porsche also designed several heavy tanks but did not get the production contract. Towards the end of the war the Porsche Engineering office moved to the relative safety of Gmünd in the Austrian province of Carinthia.
After the war the Volkswagen factory at Wolfsburg was taken over by the British and Ferdinand Porsche was arrested and imprisoned in France for 20 months.
In 1946 under the direction of Ferdinand Porsche's son Ferry, the Porsche Engineering office became involved in the design of an all-wheeldrive Grand Prix racecar for an Italian industrialist, Piero Dusio.
Ferry Porsche saw a market for a small, light two seater roadster and was unable to find a car in the market that matched his preference. He decided to build a car which became the first 356 and the first sportscar to bear the Porsche name.

Google translator) non-standard question. And dark (I love these characters, but the question is tormented too long). In the universe cars mechanic = doctor. Can Zundap make of the dead spies of cyborgs? If what would their meeting with Finn and Holly look like? I won't hurt if you don't take it.
Zündapp could not make cyborgs because he is a professor, not a doctor/mechanic.
However, I do think most cars (mostly older ones) could be considered cyborgs because they have their parts replaced. Take Miles Axlerod for example. Mater says “see how he’s had most of his parts replaced?” when looking at Miles’s engine.
Had the dead spies been alive and turned into cyborgs, Finn would’ve froze on the spot when he saw Leland. He would be so confused and shocked.
Finn did not know Rod because they’d never met.
Holley did not know Rod nor Leland so she would not be affected by seeing them.

what are you currently working on?
More brainstorming than actual writing. I've been scatterbrained lately.
Over a few days, I created Danganronpa drabbles for various characters from Goodbye Despair, V3 and Ultra Despair Girls.
I watched the 2019 UglyDolls movie a week ago and have been thinking about writing for Lou ever since.
The Cars franchise is still on my mind despite several months passing since I last watched any of it, and the results have been me writing for Snot Rod, Professor Zündapp and Miles Axlerod.
