People are sending Prismaticbell asks because Prismaticbell went on several rants in Ao3 news posts both calling people racist for saying "free Palestine" but calling people anti-semetic for not siding with Israel and then saying that it was okay to remove volunteers for saying "free Palestine" but not okay to remove volunteers for being pro Israel.

This iis incredibly well documented and posted on tumblr and not new information. Prismatic bell is a conspirarist who attacks other volunteers and harms fanfiction communities. And everything they are involved in now is being documented.

Ah, well, while I don't condone what PB said RE: Gaza (to be clear, I'm pro Palestine) I don't see the point in going to their mutuals and being vitriolic to them for being friends or friendly. Believe me, the asks I've received about my friendship with PB have been. Something interesting (read as: Horrifying. I believe someone at some point brought out the big old kys). Isolating people from those with differing views locks them into an echo chamber that lessens the introduction of differing views that might influence them into a broader view of the world.

Now, I'm under no illusion that I myself can change my friend's view of the world, but I'm not going to cut Prismaticbell off for having a view that's different than mine, and expressing them openly. That would be incredibly hypocritical of me.

To sum it all up, I was a racist little zealot with a lot of other horrifying views. If people hadn't left the door open for me to ask questions and turn my ideas around in my hands and measure them against other views, I would never have become as progressive as I am. So I'm not going to close people out from the potential for change and growth. Especially not people with no stakes in my relationships with others, and no knowledge of who I am, or who I was, or who I'm going to be ten years from now.

So, if you, or anyone else, come into my inbox to tell me of any of my friend's behavior, and demand I leave them in the dust, I'm going to have to firmly refuse.

Further? I have a lot going on in my life right now. I'm not going to get into it here, but suffice it to say my friend's words online are frustrating, but not the top priority in my life. If PB wants to talk to me about what's going on or what their beliefs are on a one on one sort of thing, the door's open, but my house is metaphorically on fire and I can't get the fire extinguisher to work properly, so I'm going to focus on that first, and I kind of need the PB haters to stay out of my inbox while I sort this shit out, ok? Not on you, you were answering a question I had. But other people? That one KYS guy? Yeah, they can fuck right off.

So apparently Tumblr has decided to start terming accounts for discussing certain topics I’m not going to mention because apparently LITERALLY JUST MENTIONING THEM is getting people termed. But I’ll give you some examples of what’s been termed, and it should tell you what the actual subject is:

—trigger warning for a manga with questionable themes involving children

—people talking about having suffered certain kinds of abuse

—teenagers talking about their own experiences with certain kinds of personal conduct

—adults talking about their own experiences, as teenagers, with certain kinds of personal conduct

If you were around in the LiveJournal years: it’s Strikethrough and Boldthrough all over again. If you weren’t, but you still have no idea what the fuck I’m talking about, look up those two terms on Fanlore. It’ll explain very quickly.

Please note that at this time, nobody posting actual cheese pizza seems to have been termed. Some people writing fiction about characters under 18 have, but nobody posting actual illegal or harmful content has been spotted disappearing.

Prismaticbell is in a league of disinformation disseminators on this site whose aim is to associate Palestinians with terrible atrocities that never happened but they know people won't look up, so people can never support freedom for Palestinians, and if they do, it's always with conditions, just in case Hamas and other Palestinians actually did that atrocity they claim was done. They're quite a few people involved in the disinformation campaign, and they're not always allies, but they spread the same things. They include shretl, a guy with variations of oxford comma forever in their username (he's particularly chaotic because he'll call other Jewish people antisemitic for supporting Palestine, but gets mad when he's called antisemitic for harassing other Jewish people), there's also homochadensis, 2peachy, shoshana, acabimbo, and their crew. They're all in the campaign and will make the most outrageous claims to attack you for supporting Palestine, even if you aren't against Israel. Their sources are usually Israeli disinformation campaign sites and news media.

I didn't want to put it on prismaticbell's post, but frankly, I think RENT sucks. The MCs are all self-absorbed, pretentious artists of a type I particularly hate, and they're actively awful to people who can't do anything about it, like waitstaff (see "La Vie Boheme" -- yelling at servers is not ok, doing illegal things publicly in restaurants puts everyone there at risk of legal problems, doing anything that increases the amount of work unnecessarily is just not cool), they don't think it's ok to do something to make a living while still doing art in addition (even if your job actively makes it easier for you to make your art), it's only ok to make a living doing art, even if you can't actually make a living doing it.

Yes, I see why people who see it first at certain stages in their lives love it. I think it's crap. I probably would have loved it just for being queer if I'd seen it at a particular time of life, honestly, but later I would have hated it. But I saw it first as an actual adult, when representation wasn't enough anymore. And it shouldn't be enough these days.

Demand more.
