Hello, let's have a little bit of change, Valval !
How about female reader being pick up by Whitebeard to join the crew while she is traveling alone and she does not understand how this happened nor why. And perhaps the reaction of her new crewmates please ?
Thank you, I will be back with idea about Marco 😘
A/N: Hello Dear :) Gladly to do this one! I hope you enjoy this one!
Whitebeard and crew welcoming fem newcomer
Tumblr media
Whitebeard seen the raw potential you had right off the back seeing you not back down from a fight someone twice your size you were face. You were just passing by on the island when a man became very rude and feeling entitled to talk you anyway he wanted you didn't put up with that on bit. Whitebeard simply observed you handling your business he hasn't seen a female fight like you in a very long time. As you thought the fight was over you turned around to leave the area when the man quickly gotten up hitting as hard a he could knocking you out.
You later woke up in a strange room. Seeing a guy with a chest tattoo sitting down. Before you could speak he checked to make sure if you were okay. As he was doing the check up he was talking about the incident you had that made you black out and where you were at you were aboard the Moby Dick. "You should be fine the bump will go down in the next day or so yoi." After about 20 mins you gotten up. Before you left the room Marco said something to you. "I almost forgot welcome aboard." he said.
As you entered the deck of the ship you seen crew mates doing different things when you were walking pass them there eyes followed you. Some of the faces you recognized from they're wanted posters. You seen Whitebeard sitting on his chair. He noticed you walked up "Oh good your finally up. Let me tell ya you took one hell of a hit back there." he said. "feeling alright girl?" he asked
"I'm okay.... Look I appreciate the help but I must be going." you said.
"Going? go where? we are in the middle of the sea as we speak it will be a while before we dock again." he said.
" wait what??" you walked to the rail and didn't see a island in sight. What the hell am I going to do on a boat with a bunch of people?
"Thatch can show you around. He's the fourth division commander." Whitebeard said.
You follow Thatch around he was showing you where everything was "any questions?" he asked you. You shook your head Thatch seen the bothered look on your face. "You don't talk a lot huh? I don't bite... unless you want me too." he gave a smirking grin. You stepped more to the side raising your brow at him. He let out a laugh "kidding only a joke. So tell me a little about yourself any family." he asked.
"No family just me... Nothing really exciting... I'm not used to being in one place for so long with a bunch of people."
"I see well being alone for so long is not good either. When pops seen you holding your ground with someone who was just as big as me he just didn't see a girl. He saw someone who has been fighting her whole life. You just don't learn to fight just because and you don't look like the type to look for a fight either am I right?"
"you are correct" You said.
"Besides its very rare I mean VERY rare for Pops to allow a female fighter on the ship. Something special about you he sees it." Thatch smiled.
You felt a bit bashful. "Cute you got her to blush." Vista was walking by.
"well what can I say I have that effect on the ladies." he said.
"Sheesh don't freak the girl out Thatch." Ace said.
The crew tried to make it as comfortable as possible for you as days passed. It was new to them as well having a female on the ship that wasn't taking care of pops. Some of them fawned over you, thought of you as little sister, even as one of the guys. Different personalities but they didn't collide with one another. You could see the dedication to the man they called Pops. A father figure he cared for every single one of his sons. Being someone new on the ship and Whitebeard show the same compassion to you like you were one of his own. In all honesty you were a bit hesitant at first but seeing that he was a good man it start to feel great. You being able to smile in the morning watching some of the shenanigans with the crew mates throughout the day. This was now your family.

You know I loved the body swap au! Can I please have one for Marco please <3 gn reader if I may
Hiii love! Of course, i hope you like it! ❤ — Now make a wish. — your friends said, waiting for you to blow out the candles. — But remember, you can’t tell us or else it won't come true.
— Okay, okay. — you giggled, closing your eyes thinking about what to wish. You already had many things you wanted, but the only thing missing now was your other half.
“I want to meet my soulmate soon”, you repeated in your head over and over again as you blew out the candles, closing your eyes as if you were trying to manifest it, or at least try to make it happen faster.
Your friends stayed at your place until late talking and imagining how your soulmate was.
— How do you imagine them? — one of your friends asked you.
— Well… I don’t want to be picky, but… — you thought for a second. — Tall and blonde? Smart, respectful and with a good personality. The rest doesn’t matter, I guess.
That night you fell asleep as soon as your head hit your pillow.
You woke up feeling annoyed with the loud noises outside, all the people singing and talking loud that early in the morning got you irritated. Assuming it was one of your neighbors, you opened your eyes ready to jump out of the bed to complain. But it wasn’t your room. The bed was smaller, but the place seemed to be very clean and organized; there was also a desk with an organized pile of papers.
You looked down and also noticed the toned tattooed chest wasn’t yours.
It could only mean one thing.
That man was your soulmate.
When you noticed the porthole and the room started shaking slightly, you realized you were in a ship. And not seeing any uniforms, you assumed it was a pirate ship. That sounded exciting, being with a pirate!
“Well, it was quicker than I was expecting”, you thought. You weren’t complaining, though. But you were surprised knowing your wish came true in such a short time. You wanted to know more about him, so you started looking for things around his room. One of the papers on his desk said “Dr. Marco”. Was your soulmate a doctor? You were fascinated, reading his notes, or trying to, with his handwriting. Sadly, your soulmate didn’t have a mirror in his room.
You opened the bedroom door, looking around to see if anyone was near. The hall was empty, so you ran towards one of the bathrooms, and finally found a small mirror. It was a little broken, but you could still see the reflection very well. He was very handsome, apparently a bit older than you, thin eyebrows and a different hair, that reminded you of a pineapple. It was very cute. He was the way you wished your soulmate to be.
"Tall and blonde? Smart..."
Hearing some steps approaching the door, you left the bathroom quickly.
— Good morning, Marco! — one of the men passing by said, smiling.
You greeted him with a friendly smile, trying to act normal. Before you could think of anything, a few other man were running towards you trying to help another man to walk. You raised an eyebrow at the scene.
— Marco! You need to help him, this dumbass dropped a knife on his foot! — one of them tried to explain.
— Do you think he’ll lose a toe? — another man asked, sounding very desperate.
You started freaking out when you remembered that now youwere the doctor.
— Let’s go to the infirmary. — you said. They needed to have an infirmary, right? So they ran to one of the rooms, and you followed.
They helped the injured man sit on the bed, and surprisingly the man didn’t seem too worried. You and the other men stared at each other, waiting for them to say anything.
— Well, you two can leave now. Thank you. — they nodded and left.
You tried to act like a doctor, getting a paper to write some information about your patient.
— So, what’s your name? — you asked, trying to sound professional.
— What do you mean with that? — his eyes widened. — I’m Thatch! I’m losing blood and you’re the one who gets confused?
— Ah, yes. Sorry, Thatch.
The room went silent when you were trying to remember any first aid tips you had at school, or anything that could help.
— Can you heal me with your devil fruit powers, then?
Devil fruit powers? Your soulmate had devil fruit powers that could cure people? But your question was: could you use them now that you were in his body? You took too long to say anything or show a reaction, so your patient sighed.
— Don’t tell me you finally switched bodies with your soulmate? — he broke the silence.
You nodded, as if you were guilty.
— Marco, that was the worst timing!
— I’m not Marco. I’m (Y/N). — you turned back, trying to find something to clean his wound and maybe fix it somehow. How hard could it be? Maybe the injury wasn’t even that serious.
— I’m going to lose my toe. — Thatch said, dramatically. — Please, let’s call Marco. We have a den den mushi, but don’t let me lose my toe.
You had a short time to find the Captain, which to your surprise, was Edward Newgate. You didn’t even have time to be shocked. In five minutes, you explained the whole situation, begged for a den den mushi and called Marco.
Your soulmate was worried, but was laughing at his crewmate being dramatic in the background. He had a nice calm voice, and was patiently helping you through the phone, how to patch your patient up. When you finished, his toe looked decent and hopefully would get better soon.
— Now we need to switch back, yoi. — he said.
— We need to find a place to meet, and fast. I don’t know what to do if another crewmate of yours get hurt.
Turns out your island wasn’t far from where you were right now, so in a few hours you’d be face to face with your soulmate.
You dreamed about it since you were a child, when your friends kept saying how they imagined their soulmate to be, how the kiss would be, the wedding and the house you two would have.
You spent the next few hours feeling anxious, as if the butterflies in your stomach couldn’t just be quiet. A part of you wondered if you should practice the kiss so everything could go perfect, but soon you dismissed the idea. If you two are soulmates, the kiss will be perfect anyway.
It was almost night, the sky was beautiful with the sunset, and the Moby Dick finally docked. And much to your surprise, your soulmate was there too. Fidgeting with his fingers and walking around in circles and apparently, waiting for you.
— Is that him? — they asked, you nodded. — Oi Marco! — the crewmates screamed, seeing his figure, or well, your figure, from far.
As soon as you left the ship, the walk towards him seemed long, even though you weren’t that far from each other. Not wanting to take any longer, he also started walking in your direction. And finally you were in front of him. After long years, and an even longer day.
You just looked at each other for a minute, he held your hand, squeezing it gently, as to help you, or him, to relax.
Marco was taking too long to make a move, so taking a deep breath and trying to be as brave as ever, your lips found his in a quick move. His eyes widened in surprise for a second, until the doctor finally closed them and enjoyed the moment. The kiss was soft, gentle at first, since the two of you were still shy. Until Marco heated the kiss, pulling you close as if he wanted you two to become one. Your both hands holding his face, the man’s hand on your hips. And of course, the Whitebeard Pirates cheering in the back.
— How did that work so fast yoi? We just met. — he giggled.
— Because you're exactly how I always imagined you to be. — you smiled.

Travel in the time 2 !!!
Hello! I wanted to share with you this second part that I made of the wonderful drabble of MarcoAceSabo about his journey in time. She has given me permission !!! I hope you like it and thank you very much MarcoAceSabo for letting me write it! It’s wonderful !!!
————————————————————-
Marco awake after a few minutes, found himself strung with Sea stone chains on his hands and feet to one of the beds of what he recognized as the old Moby Dick infirmary.
That could not be real … the Moby had been destroyed at Marine Ford and as much as he loved the ship, seeing it now only brought back all those nasty memories of the day he lost everything.
His chest was cured and covered with bleeding bandages. That was the wound Blackbeard had done when Sabo and the other white-bearded sons had come to avenge the death of their father and brother and had been defeated miserably.
Maybe this was an illusion caused by the powers of Blackbeard?
Did he want to torture him even more, showing him the peaceful days in which they lived beside him without knowing that he was a monster?
Ace, as much as he wanted to stay and ask Marco for an explanation, just followed his other boyfriend directly to the command room for the emergency meeting.
Once everyone took their seats they began the debate.
“Was it perhaps an enemy?”   was the first option that appeared
“How could anyone attack Marco without being noticed in our own home? In broad daylight and with everyone on deck? “Izou argued,” everyone saw that Marco just started bleeding and hallucinating in front of them”
“It’s true,” said Sabo. “No one touched him or threw anything strange at him.
“And the tea?”
“The nurses already analyzed it and say that there is nothing strange, no poison or chemical detected”
“Maybe we should wait for Marco to calm down and ask if he saw or felt anything out of the ordinary?”
“children,"  Whitebeard said, "I think it’s best to wait. It hurts to think that someone could hurt my son in our home, but there is no doubt that we will catch them if it is true.”
Everyone nodded in agreement though none were pleased.
“I would like Sabo and Ace to play a role as Marco’s bodyguard because it wouldn’t bother him to be followed by them all the time thanks to their relationship”  A smile decorum the face of the captain  “understood children?”
“Father!” Ace smiled as Sabo nodded.
Instead of reacting violently when he saw many of his brothers who were dead, Marco simply fell silent. Maybe if he ignored the illusions these would disappear and he could face his heartbreaking reality.
Thatch … Thatch was alive and he had come in with a plate of food as was his custom when some brother was sick, smiling nervously, worried about him.
Just as he had done for Sabo and Ace when they had just arrived on the ship and were reluctant to receive any help, even as their stomachs roared like lions.
“ Are you feeling better, Marco? Your good brother Thatch, made your favorite dish! Chicken!”
Even with the seriousness of his thoughts, he could not help grunting at the old joke.
Carefully, fearing to receive a blow like those who had received some earlier, Thatch left the plate of food in front of Marco.
“Let me loosen the chains, you won’t  hurt your favorite brother, will you?” He said with a nervous smile. “Do not say anything to the nurses. Our little secret right?”
Marco decided not to attack this mirage of his brother. It was comforting and he missed it too much to miss the opportunity to see it for a few minutes … or for the time that the illusion lasted anyway.
Once the chains were loose enough, he stopped to look at the food. It wasn’t chicken like the mirage claimed it was but a simple soup meant to help the sick. Thatch’s specialty. He was hungry, the days before the confrontation with the black beard had been tense and very little had managed to pass through his stomach.
As he ate the soup slowly, the door to the infirmary opened and Marco’s heart shuddered at the sight of who was standing in the doorway.
Sabo and Ace entered the room softly, giving him worried looks. They approached slowly, afraid to frighten him and Marco’s heart could not take it anymore.
It was too much.
Everything was just too much.
“Hey Marco … are you feeling better?”  said Sabo, sitting to his right and stroking his shoulder  “ we were very worried about you.”
Seeing the warm smile of his old lovers aimed at him, Marco’s heart broke. After Ace’s death, the love that Sabo and Marco felt for each other had been incomplete. If they were together, it had been to comfort each other, because their love had been transformed into painful guilt for not having done enough to save Ace.
Even when he and Sabo had been side by side in the battle against Blackbeard, the only thing that had passed through their minds was Ace.
Thick and desperate tears began to fall before his loves and his beloved dead brother.
"Please … please don’t make me see this …”
“Marco?” The three men asked at the same time.
“please … end this … you … you shouldn’t be here … don’t hurt me anymore!” he screamed at the illusions of Ace and Sabo who looked at him with love and concern in his eyes. They looked so real.  “please … don’t leave me … don’t die..”
He grasped the hands of his lovers tightly, tears hot and fast rolling down his face freely now. Before anyone could say or do anything he fainted.
Ace couldn’t help but wince at Marco’s words. Hurt him? The Maiden of the Sea knows that they would never do anything to hurt him, that they loved him with all their heart.
Before he could make an argument about this, Sabo grabbed him by the shoulder and made a sign of refusal, pointing to the door.
Thatch meanwhile called to the nurses, gesturing at the older blond with a pain expression. He must have told them what had happened. The brown hair man then nodded to the door telling the pair to go.
When they left, they immediately ran into the room they shared, shutting themselves in.
“Did you hear what he said?” Sabo said desperately.
“I don’t understand very well what is happening”  Ace ran a hand through his hair “ but I am very sure that whoever did this to Marco is going to pay.”
Marco was usually the one who was always in control. So serious, cordial, he was the one who solved the problems, it was he who never fell into despair. It was he who had been his pillar when Ace was wrapped in that spiral of self-loathing that even Sabo could not get him out of.
Seeing him like this, as if someone had taken him through hell and back, was frankly painful.
Who could have done it?!
The third time Marco woke up, things were much clearer.
This was not a mirage.
It was not Blackbeard.
And whoever had twisted space and time had given Marco the opportunity to repair the damage done to the future pirate era.
He calmed down, adopting that characteristic pose of his and began his plan. The nurses came in and, seeing him awake and calm, approached him.
“Are you a little better, Commander Marco?”
“What happened here?” Asked the blond, brows folded “Why am I tied up with Sea Stone chains?”
All of them began to whisper worried among themselves, writing on their medical records. Marco stares at them with a confused expression.
“Do not you remember what happened?”
“Absolutely not,” he answered with complete confidence, “I think I need an explanation.”
Unlike Ace and even Sabo, Marco was a big liar. To make them believe that he did not remember every second since his awakening in Moby and the reactions to having seen them alive was like a piece of cake. He did have to endure hearing from the nurses’ mouth the same story he had lived a moment ago, but it was a small price to pay to keep his secret from everyone.
While they went to inform their father (oh, and how nostalgic it sounded to have his father alive)  visitors were allowed to enter the infirmary.
“Marco!” Ace threw himself into his arms as Sabo walked a little more slowly but with a worried expression on his face, “are you feeling better?”
“Yes … Ace,” he said, cursing for having faltered at the voice of his dead love.
“We were very worried” Sabo takes his hand once he reaches him
“I don’t really remember what happened. I’m sorry that I gave you so much trouble. “He smiled softly a little overwhelm with glee as it sits in he can be here with them.
“The nurses say that if you feel better, they’ll let you go in a few hours … but … your chest wounds aren’t healing …”
He made a hurt face as he realized that his tattoo was ruined here as well. His pride, the pride of being a son of Whitebeard, had been wounded by the dirty powers of Blackbeard, which prevented regeneration.
“ I know … they told me … I’ll wait until it heals and I’ll do it again”  he said in pain, voice a little strain.
“Don’t worry, Love,” Sabo said kissing his cheek  “ we will find the culprit and we will make them pay dearly”
I doubt it
No one had noticed the traitor among them until it was too late. He was a great actor, Marco would recognize. But the blond could be a better one and would avenge himself with all the hatred his heart had been able to gather in all those years of torment. He just had to wait for the right moment to strike
“Okay … I trust you”
He wrapped them in a tight embrace, maybe a little too tight, but none complained returning the hug as well.
He must save this happiness.

Chapter 2 || Chapter 3: Bonds || Chapter 4
The introduction had been brief, for Iva had taken him aside before informing him of everything that had happened so far. Ace’s vivre card, the happenings in Impel Down and their escape. It hadn’t been long until there was a tearful farewell to the man who had opened the gates for them. (One Sabo truly did not understand, merely because he had not known him. But, he didn’t like seeing Luffy cry like that.)
And after it was all said and done, Sabo just sat down, trying to understand everything. Because, simply, he didn’t. Why he was here. What it had to do with these two brothers. And why the hell he hated seeing Luffy doing anything but smile and laugh.
At the very least, he knew he could trust his instincts. It was what had gotten him into this mess in the first place…
“You weren’t in the prison, right?”
Sabo glanced up at that to see Luffy sitting next to him. He wasn’t frowning, but at the same time he wasn’t exactly smiling either. It really unnerved him.
“No, I wasn’t.” Sabo itched to get away. He had enough on his mind right now and he didn’t need Luffy just pestering him and looking at him like that. Couldn’t he just smile already?
“Then how’d you get on this ship? Did the Marines capture you? Iva said you were a revolutionary…” Well, he supposed the innocent curious expression on Luffy’s face was better than that neutral one.
Sabo sighed and shook his head. “No. I snuck aboard this ship and stowed away. I was hoping to end up at Marineford.” And then you went and commandeered this ship, which annoyed the hell out of me. He didn’t add the last point however, as it was moot considering that was their destination at hand.
“Really?”
When Sabo glanced at Luffy, all of his nerves unwound themselves. There. That was much better, the way that Luffy was looking at him, eyes practically glowing.
“Yeah, from what Iva told me, for the same reason as you.”
Luffy made some strange sound of happiness. “Really? How do you know Ace? I mean, I hadn’t seen him in three years so I don’t know all of his friends and.. ”
…Goodness he was just going off on tangents, wasn’t he?
“I don’t know Ace.”
And that put a complete halt in Luffy’s spiel. “…Huh?” He looked confused again, but still happy, and that was good enough for him he supposed.
“Don’t ask me why, but for some reason I can’t let this happen. It…it makes me angry. It turns my stomach I just…” He shook his head. “Let’s leave it at that, shall we? I can’t exactly explain why I am the way I am.”
It was just… fact. Luffy just didn’t know him or who he was or his past and while he didn’t think Luffy would understand hopefully he wouldn’t pry.
“Okay!”
…Huh?
“It’s just your instincts right? I understand that perfectly fine.” He was laughing now. “I don’t get why your instincts tell you to save Ace, but I’m happy they are.”
…Weirdo.
.xxx.
Luffy was currently telling him about Ace. Explaining what he looked like and his personality and his devil fruit and Sabo, well, he listened. He might as well learn just who this man was that he had decided to risk his life for.
“And, and then I met him in Alabasta! It was funny because he was waiting for me there but people forgot to tell me his message, but I met him anyway.” He laughed sheepishly. “That’s where he gave me this.” And Luffy pulled out a burning piece of paper from his hat. He made a sad expression before putting it back. “It was so nice to see him after three years. He invited me to his crew but of course I refused. The pirate king has to be the captain!”
There was more laughter, and yes, Sabo was more confident that this was how he liked to see Luffy. Smiling and laughing and just having fun. He’d question why later.
“And! Oh!” Now Luffy was grinning. “I showed him my prized possession.” Now, oh that grin had turned into this expression. It was just… so happy. “You see, my friend Vivi, she was secretly part of this organisation…” Then Luffy had a sour face, gesturing towards Crocodile. “And she had wanted posters and!” Luffy’s eyes lit up again as he returned to the topic at hand. “You see, there’s this really cool pirate and I have his wanted poster and Ace and I knew him as kids and I showed Ace!”
…This idiot was giddy. What the hell.
“And I met him a few days ago at the tree-islands and Torao has all these cool tattoos when he became a pirate! He’s got this cool beard too! And this really awesome-looking sword! And this bear and…”
…That wasn’t telling him anything Luffy. Nothing at all. And he wasn’t aware of any pirates named (or nicknamed) Torao either…. And Luffy was going on about just how cool this Torao character was…
He doubted they’d be getting back to the subject of Ace anytime soon…
.xxx.
More news came out about Luffy and Ace and Dragon however. How apparently Luffy and Ace were not brothers by blood, but by bond.
(It only made him remember that image of sake and the taste as it burned down his throat…)
What was it? And why?
Sabo sighed and just rested his head against a wall.
“Someving the matter, Sabo-boy?”
He opened his eyes to look up at Iva. “Headaches.” He explained, and truthfully, yes, he getting them in droves right now. Whenever that fog came in or certain things were said… And they just kept happening.
“Ah. Are vou vinking vhat I vink vou’re vinking Sabo-boy?” Iva said, gesturing towards Luffy.
…Now that Iva pointed it out, yeah, it was starting to make some sense…
“Vi vould suggest vou vait on vat Sabo-boy. Not vat Vi’m saying it’s not possible but…”
Sabo nodded. “He has enough on his mind right now.”
Iva nodded. “It’s highly possible, vou know. Vou both originated from East Blue after all.”
Not to mention, well… he doesn’t exactly remember it at all, and wouldn’t that be a slap in the face? No, let Luffy worry about Ace, and not some kid from his past whom he may or may not be.
.xxx.
This? It was war. Completely and utterly, and those damn Marines had the upper hand with Ace in sea-stone cuffs. And after hearing that this publicity was all over the fact of who Ace’s biological father was, well it only ignited that fury within him even more. In fact, it was almost blinding, that anger. He had to save Ace, he had to save Ace. He couldn’t let the Marines have him.
And he fought. Luffy fought. They all fought. Many fell, allies and foes alike.
(All of this, over a fucking bloodline!)
Here the Marines were, demonising these two brothers based on who their fathers were. It wasn’t fair. It wasn’t righteous. Not one bit of it. And finally when they achieved hope, when Ace was freed and on the run…
Sakazuki descended, and he attacked. Not only with lava, but with words.
Sabo saw it coming. They all probably did. Except Ace. (Or if he did, he didn’t care.)
Ace refused to keep running, and Luffy was trying to convince him to continue. Begging him. Telling him that this wasn’t what Whitebeard wanted and Sakazuki was just goading him on and they needed to leave.
(The others were too preoccupied with the other admirals. He needed to get there, it wasn’t boding good. Not with Luffy’s condition, or Ace’s temper…)
And he saw it. Saw the way Sakazuki had aimed his molten fist towards Luffy. Saw the way that Ace had stepped in the way to protect his younger brother… Saw as red exploded everywhere. Fire. Lava. Blood. Saw the fist as it impaled Ace… Saw Luffy as he tilted back, screaming to the heavens...
He saw Ace die.
He saw Luffy break.
(No… no, his mind screamed. No!)
The shock shook him and brought him back to the present. And he watched… Watched as Sakazuki brought his fist back…
“NO!” Sabo screamed as he charged towards the admiral with a haki-infused claw. Anything. Anything. He needed to stop him from killing Ace…
And Sabo diverted Sakazuki’s attack.
He heard Ace’s scream of pain, and Luffy’s strangled cries of worry, but he had to ignore it for now. No. He needed to keep Sakazuki handled, he couldn’t let this… this monster harm these brothers anymore.
“Another revolutionary?” The man of magma spat at him. “How dare you…”
Sabo hardened his gaze on the admiral. “You will not harm these brothers!” He channelled all of his fury at this man. The man who hunted down Luffy and Ace. The man who tried – and almost succeeded – in killing them.
(He could hear sobbing and muttering behind him. In fact, he heard his name muttered, but whether or not they were referring to him or the other Sabo, he wasn’t too certain.)
He didn’t allow himself to be distracted, no. He used his Haki to disrupt the magma from seeping behind him. God dammit, couldn’t somebody just fucking grab them already?
(He heard the sound of a body hitting the ground and a heartbreaking scream ripple out into the air. What happened? Fuck. what happened?)
“I’ve got them now! Ace is still alive!”
(…That was Jinbei. Oh, thank god...)
Chaos, it was chaos everywhere, and in his relief, that damned Sakazuki broke away from him, and began to chase after the fishman carrying the two unconscious brothers away.
Bastard.
He was able to spare a glance at Ace finally, and the sight was not pretty. If he didn’t see a doctor soon… (And if he hadn’t diverted Sakazuki’s blast…)
Sabo narrowed his sights on the admiral once more… He couldn’t let that bastard win.

eventual marcoace fic!!!!
title: texting to your heart’s content
Or that one au where Ace accidently texts Marco and they slowly get to know each other.
words: 3000~
first chapter!!!!!
Marco sighs, his head buried in the paperwork, his eyes skipping over the words. He shakes his head at Thatch’s writing, grateful he had been reading his reports for years, able to read his chicken scratch. Ace grits his teeth when he stands up. His injury burns when he moves but he ignores it.
There had been reports about the unknown movement on the edge of their territory. Marco’s first thing was after he’d got the reports, to send Izo to visit the district and ask around what caused the disturbance.
People had been trying for years to get a part of their territory, to get close to cause damage they can't fix, but their family is more prepared than losing to rookies who think Whitebeard is too old to be threatening.
The past months had been calm, only some weak newbies thinking they can come and go selling drugs without any of the family members noticing.
When Marco met them, he told them the truth. If they do it again, they won't be talking Marco next time. They laughed at him. Not for long though. One of them was smart enough to realise he wasn't joking.
It was a nice exercise but it didn't even make him sweat.
His phone vibrates on his desk, jolting out from his thoughts. He lifts off his glasses, rubbing his eyes. The message is from a number he doesn't recognise but he opens it. Maybe one of his brothers had got a new number.
[13:12] i think i killed him and you're an asshole. i thought he won't be here anymore, we had talked about it???
Marco blinks at the message, confused, as he tries to think which brothers might be the sender but he draws blank. What. The. Fuck. Has this man killed someone? Have they really send a message about murdering a person? He's tempted to look up the phone number but resists and writes back.
[13:14] Wrong number. What kind of criminal sends a text message about murdering someone?
[13:17] dude, im not a criminal ok. don't call the cops
Oh, yes. Don't call the cops, that isn't suspicious at all.
[13:18] You killed someone and you say you aren't a criminal? How does that even work?
[13:23] ??????? oh man, i killed a spider, not a person!!! do killers text you when they kill someone that's why you think im criminal?
Marco grins a bit reading the message before he shakes his head. What is wrong with him? There's nothing funny about it. This person can be lying to him, he shouldn't be enjoying their conversation this much.
[13:27] You’re the first criminal texting their murdering to me. You’re special.
[13:29] wow, i can see the sarcasm dripping from that answer
[13:30] As I said special.
[13:31] you are the worst
Marco chuckles as he gets back to work. Nice distraction from the paperwork.
He doesn't look at his phone the whole afternoon and when he goes to bed he thinks about writing back before dismissing the idea, he doubts the person wants to hear more from a stranger.
Marco wakes up to his phone vibrating at six in the morning. His first thought is to ignore it but he knows it would make someone life harder, mostly his, if he doesn't get up from his bed. Why did he put his phone so far away from his bed last night anyway?
Yawning, he stumbles out from the bed, almost falling down as his blanket tries to stop him, before looking at his phone. He stares at the number before he shrugs. He considers deleting the message for a few moments, but his curiosity wins and he opens it.
[05:30] so how far are you from home? can't do the stitches on my side
[05:32] oh wait. you might be sleeping at one of your friends. srry don't worry I can take care of myself it's not as bad as it sounds
[05:40] the blood stopped, so don't worry when you wake up reading these msgs
[05:50] and i won't try to stitch myself up promise
Marco reads it again. There wasn't any chance they weren't a criminal. Getting hurt in the morning? Which needed stitches? Oh, yes, not criminal. Who would even believe him after this?
[06:04] You should save the number of the person you're trying to write Mr. I’m-Not-A-Criminal.
Marco goes to the kitchen to warm up his coffee. It would be useless to try to sleep when he has only one-two hours before work. He sits down on the chair, his phone at arm's length to see when the answer arrives.
[06:10] you’re shitting me. i didn’t fucked up the number again i’m sure
[06:11] Obviously, you did.
[06:15] why are you even writing me back??
[06:17] Because you’re bleeding. Because you’re in need of stitches but you don’t have anyone with you. Because you don’t sound like you know what you’re doing.
[06:19] i know what im doing. i can do stiches i just can’t reach this one
[06:20] and im not bleeding
[06:22] You’re lying.
[06:22] no, im not, shut up
[06:23] I hope you aren't bleeding on the carpet that would be a nightmare to get out.
[06:30] Please tell me you didn't bleed out.
[06:34] I assume your friend is back and you're fine, Mr. I’m Not A Criminal Even Though I Was Out At Five Am.
[06:35] It would be nice to know you’re not dead.
“You’re so stubborn,” Sabo says. He sounds tired and Ace doesn't have to think about the reason when he'd woken up Sabo with his messages he'd sent him. One of the good thing that came out of this that he finally saved Sabo’s number. “You can't even stand without being in pain.”
“I'm fine,” Ace mutters but he sits down with a grimace on his face. Maybe Sabo is right. Maybe.
Sitting on their couch is highly uncomfortable and they should buy a new one before his back kills him for sleeping on it. They’ve had this couch for as long as they've lived in this apartment but they didn't have the money to get a new one.
“You aren't a good liar when you're in pain,” Sabo says as he pats his head. Ace groans, swatting his hand away. He can lie, he can totally lie in pain.
“Oh, just shut up.”
Sabo chuckles at him as he goes to the kitchen. Their apartment isn’t big; it only takes a few steps from the living room to reach it. They have two rooms but only one big bed which came with the apartment when they bought it a few years ago.
This apartment holds his dearest memories with his family, with Luffy and Sabo. Sleeping together in the bed when the heater didn't work, almost breaking the table when they were sparring inside.
They kind of make some bad decision. But fighting with a no-name group who tried to trash his favourite place where he likes to eat? Unacceptable.
He just couldn't let that happen, right?
There were at least ten of them, but he was done with them under five minutes even though one of them cut him. That asshole.
“It's not like you don't have your own collection of scars,” Ace grumbles.
“But I’m prettier,” Sabo answers as he throws his hair back like the dramatic person he is.
“You’re ridiculous,”
“But you’re smiling.”
“Because you’re being…,” Ace starts, uselessly gesticulating at him.
“Fabulous? Amazing? The best company you can have?”
“Lame,” Ace says, rolling his eyes. Sabo laughs, putting down their food to the table as he elbows Ace to move and let him sit down.
“You love me,” Sabo says in a sing-song voice. Ace reaches for the meat with his chopsticks but Sabo steals it from his plate, dumping it in his mouth.
Ace glares.
“It's hard to love you when you eat the most delicious part of the food.”
“Oh, please,” Sabo tuts as he finishes his food. “You got hurt, I had to stitch you up, I think I deserve the best.”
Ace can't really argue with that, right? Sabo is always here to help him when he makes a mistake. Ace wishes he could show how much it means to him that he’s standing beside him and cares for him.
“How was your night?” Ace questions, steering away from his sappy thoughts.
“Better than yours.”
Ace’s gaze runs over Sabo’s body and he can't see anything else but his burned scar on his face, he'd got years ago.
Ace puts his plate down on their table before he leans back on the couch. He stops himself from initiating physical contact but Sabo had learned all of his tells in the past few years.
Sabo’s shoulder touches his, and something goes lax within Ace, his tenseness leaving his body. He closes his eyes for a moment, enjoying the warmth and the quiet.
“I haven't seen those people before,” Ace mumbles, resting his head on Sabo’s shoulder. “I haven't seen any tattoo on them.”
“You scared them away, right?” Sabo asks, even if he knows the answers. Ace hums when Sabo starts petting his hair, his fingers ruffling through it.
“I shouldn't have to, it's Whitebeard’s territory anyway, it's their job. If it's their territory, they should fucking act like it,” Ace grumbles angrily.
“I dare you to say that to their faces,” Sabo says, grinning.
“It's not like I will ever meet them,” Ace answers with a shrug. He closes his eyes enjoying the moment. The fingers running through his hair make him sleepy, he can fall asleep here without any doubt. “Just because they don’t have a headquarter in this city, they shouldn't let criminals come and go.”
“Oh, please, you enjoyed beating up those people,” Sabo’s voice is coloured with amusement.
Ace wants to argue because it's more than that. It's about the adrenaline rushing through his body, it's about concentrating on the fight and not thinking about anything else.
A few months back Ace could easily find an illegal fight with people betting who's going to win. The moment the city became Whitebeard’s territory, the illegal fights disappeared from the dark alley of the streets.
Ace misses those fights. It was a way to earn easy money and to relieve the stress. Their apartment isn't big enough to spar in it, so Ace can't help but look for someone to spar with. Even if it means they're trying to hurt him or they want him dead. Ace is fine with that, he can fight, he can protect himself.
Fortunately, people who like to pick on him aren’t that good, so Ace can easily defeat them. Even if he doesn't even break a sweat, the most important is that he's alive. Or that's what Sabo always says.
“They were so boring, Sabo,” Ace complains. “They were uncoordinated and they didn't even work together to get me, it was only a lucky shot one of them get me.”
Ace yelps as Sabo tugs on his hair. He lifts his head from Sabo’s shoulder and glares at him.
“Why did you do that?” Ace whines massaging his scalp.
“Don't get cocky, I definitely remember stitching you up a few hours ago.”
“A small mistake,” Ace grumbles, scowling at Sabo.
“Your small mistake is a five-inch long cut,” Sabo grumbles, rubbing his eyes with a sigh. “Fuck, Ace, take care of yourself when you’re out alone. I don’t want to tell Luffy, you died by getting stabbed because of some asshole sneaked up on you.”
“I remember saying something really similar the last week,” Ace muses and grins when Sabo sits back with a groan.
“I hate you, let me be a responsible older brother for once,” Sabo whines.
Ace doesn't even reply, his grin speaking for him.
Sabo hits him on his tight carefully, so he won't hurt him in any way. Sabo stands up, yawning.
“Gonna get some sleep,” Sabo says, ruffling Ace’s hair as he walks to his room. Ace tries to hit his hand but he's too slow. “Don't wake me up.”
“Okay, okay,” Ace agrees, waving him away. “Go to sleep, you look horrible.”
“Fuck you,” Sabo replies, not even mad before closing his door.
Ace rubs his neck, his heart filled with warmth when he thinks back to Sabo. Fuck. He doesn't even know how did he deserve Sabo’s company over the years. But if there is one thing Ace can't let go, is his brothers.
He stays on the couch a few moment before he looks for his phone as he remembers he hasn't read the last messages.
He almost stumbles into the table as he stands up. He curses his weak legs. His phone lays on his bed, and he laughs in the next moment as his eyes skim over the messages.
Ace gets his blanket before finding the most comfortable position in his bed.
It's not a good idea to get involved with a civilian but Ace is bored and he's hurt. And it's not like they will ever meet with each other.
He doesn't even notice his pain as he rereads the messages. As he starts to answer, Ace realises he can't let this opportunity to fly away.
It has been the most fun he has had in a while.
