"I am home, honey," Matt's voice echoed in the quiet home as he placed his coat on the coat hanger. Light thuds of footsteps approached him as he smiled. "Dada!" his daughter, (D/N) exclaimed happily, raising her arms.
Matt smiled and quickly picked her up. "Hello there, my little dove. How was your day?" Matt asked, making his way to the kitchen. Aroma of spices filled the hall. "Good," (D/N) answered, playing with Matt's hair.
Matt found his wife in the kitchen, humming to herself to the music of some new Indian song. Clad in his shirt and a pair of shorts, she was busy cooking one of his favorites. "It's not good to stare, my love," (Y/N) said, pausing the song to pay attention to her husband.
"What are you cooking today?" He asked, pecking her lips. "Eww!" (D/N) exclaimed, closing her eyes. "Oh, you didn't like it, (D/N/N)? We extremely sorry, dear," (Y/N) apologized with a smile, extending her hands to grab her but (D/N) turned her face away from (Y/N), snuggling into her father's neck.
Matt giggled, patting her back with his hand. "Always daddy's little girl, aren't you?" (Y/N) pouted, folding her arms in front of her. "Maybe the next one will be mommy's child," Matt said with a wink, glancing down at the still not so visible baby bump.
"Perhaps," (Y/N) hummed. "I cooked Indian for tonight," (Y/N) answered his previously asked question. "Feeling homesick?" Matt asked, caressing (Y/N)'s cheek with his free hand. "Missing Maa's special Rajma, but she is coming next month so..." (Y/N) shrugged, smiling up at him.
"Now, go and freshen up. I will serve the dinner in the meantime." Matt hummed, placing (D/N) on the table. (D/N) smiled at her father, giggling as (Y/N) tickled her lightly.
While Matt freshen up and changed into his usual clothes, (Y/N) fixed the table and fed (D/N). "I am back," Matt said, stepping into the dining space just as (Y/N) cleaned (D/N)'s face and placed the used utensils in the kitchen sink.
"I see you had your dinner," Matt said to his daughter, making her smile as she always do when he is around. "Aren't you going to sit with your old father while he have his dinner?" Matt asked, talking in his baby voice which (Y/N) always found adorable.
Matt settled in his usual chair with (D/N) on his lap while (Y/N) served him a bowl of Kadai Paneer and two chapatis. "I asked Maa the recipe. I hope you like it," she said, sitting down. "I like everything you cook, my love," Matt said with a smile, digging into his food.
(Y/N) waited anxiously for his reaction as he tasted the food. Matt turned to face her with a blank face which soon broke into a huge grin. "It is absolutely delicious, my love. One of the best things I've had in a while."
(Y/N) smiled digging into her own food. The rest of the dinner was quiet with an occasional conversation about random topics and Matt making funny faces to keep (D/N) entertained.
Once, the couple was done, Matt washed the dishes while (Y/N) put (D/N) to sleep. With the dishes cleaned and placed properly and (D/N) fast asleep, Matt and (Y/N) settled on the sofa with a blanket wrapped around their shoulders. Game of Thrones reruns running on the television.
"So, what have you decided on your career?" Matt asked, running his hand through her (H/C) hair. "I am taking a break from acting, right now. My next shooting doesn't start until next 2 months," (Y/N) answered.
"That's great," Matt said, placing a kiss on the top of her head. "Maybe we can go on a vacation or something like that after my shooting ends next week?" Matt suggested, watching as (Y/N)'s face brightened up with a smile.
"That sounds awesome," she replied, snuggling into his chest. Matt chuckled, nodding in agreement and silently thanking gods for gifting him with something so precious.

Improved Market Stalls 1.0
Over time, EA added a variety of regional recipes and market stalls — except they didn't care to integrate any of them.  This mod fixes that.  Initially, this mod was just going to focus on the missing recipes, but as there are multiple market stalls (even non-food ones) that could use improving, this mod was built from ground-up to be expansible.
The first release of this mod focuses on the above problem. Dishes that were added via SDX and updates were added to their respective food stalls, as well as recipes from other packs (looking at you, Weddinhg Stories).
[*] indicates that the recipe module is required
DOWNLOAD
City Living
Wedding Stories provided us with new Chinese and Indian recipes and, while City Living recipes were available at the Tartosa food stalls, Wedding Stories recipes were not. Additionally, the developers seemed to have missed the Vegetarian Butter Chicken recipe and the Lunar New Year SDX recipes were nonexistent.
Snow Escape came with a wide variety of Japanese recipes.  For the sake of brevity, I only added food types that are not already repesented in the menu (Maki, Onigri, Yakisoba) and a vegetarian option for one already represented (Ramen).
The Mexican food stall has some recipes from Jungle Adventures and the Latin American cuisine SDX.  As I am not Mexican, I had to do research to confirm if a recipe was in Mexican cuisine and I welcome feedback from more knowledgable Simmers.
Similarly, the Morrocan food stall has recipes from Discover University and the Arabic cuisine SDX.  I welcome feedback from anyone more knowledgeable on Moroccan cuisine.
Chinese
Chicken Stir-fry*, Minced Pork Noodles*, Rice Cake*, Steamed Fish*
Wedding Stories: Mud Carp, Roast Duck, Sweet Buns, Vegetable Dumplings
Indian
Vegetarian Butter Chicken*
Wedding Stories: Butter Chicken, Dal Makhani, Gulab Jamun, Palak Paneer
Japanese
Snowy Escape: Avacado Maki, Tuna Maki, Onigri, Miso Ramen, Beef Yakisoba, Veggie Yakisoba
Mexican
Chili, Chips and Salsa*, Elote*, Pan de Muerto*, Fish Tacos, Tofu Tacos
Jungle Adventure: Bunuelos, Empanadas Verde, Platanos Fritos
Luxury Party: Ceviche*
Morrocan
Knafeh*, Zaatar Manaeesh*
Get Together: Pita and Hummus Tapas*
Discover University: Fattoush Salad, Tabbouleh Salad, Shish Kebabs, Beef Wrap, Chicken Wrap, Falafel Wrap
Discover University
As the kebab stall seemed to be more of a pan-Arabic cuisine, I did not add the Moroccan dishes from City Living.
Kebabs
Knafeh*, Zaatar Manaeesh*
Get Together: Pita and Hummus Tapas*
Snowy Escape
City Living's selection of Japanese recipes is heavily limited in comparasion with Snowy Escape's, so there weren't many recipes added to the menu.  For consistency's sake, I only added recipes already represented on the menu.
In addition, the Festival of Light has Pufferfish Nigiri.
Traditional
City Living: Dango, Nigiri
Mountain Food
City Living: Dango, Ramen
Festival of Light
City Living: Dango, Nigiri, Pufferfish Nigiri
Festival of Youth
City Living: Dango, Nigiri
Festival of Snow
City Living: Dango, Nigiri, Ramen
Jungle Adventure
The food stall for Jungle Adventure appeared to be pan-South American, so I included all the recipes from the Latin American cuisine update and the Brazilian cuisine update, including drinks.  It did not seem to include Mexican recipes, so only one recipe from City Living (Empanadas) was added.
As Sims tend to waste food when they get the "Overwhelming Flavor" buff, I suggest my Don't Waste Food mod.
Food
Acaraje*, Asado*, Brigadiero*, Chimis*, Chimichurri Skewers*, Chripan*, Churrasco*, Hallacas*, Pinchos*, Pollo a la Brasa*
City Living: Empanadas
Luxury Party: Ceviche
Drinks
Caiprinha*, Coquito*
Wedding Stories
As mentioned above, Wedding Stories stalls already integrated City Living recipes into their menu.  I only needed to add the recipes from the Lunar New Year update and the Vegetarian Butter Chicken.
Chinese
Chicken Stir-fry*, Minced Pork Noodles*, Rice Cake*, Steamed Fish*
Indian
Vegetarian Butter Chicken*
Growing Together
This one was slightly harder to choose for as it's essentially a sampling of multiple cuisines.  I didn't want to flood the menus with every regional recipe available, I decided to go with a recognizable recipe from each of these cuisines: Brazilian, Korean, Middle Eastern, and Polynesian.
I plan to update this stall continuously as EA adds more recipes.
Around the World
Aracaje*, Japchae*
Island Living: Poke Bowl
Discover University: Shish Kebabs

Note
I can't eat red meat unfortunately (damn ticks, those evil arachnids), but that meatball recipe sounds really good
i am sorry that it’s not an option for you, nonny. red meat ain’t everything (i don’t eat it very often) but it super-sucks to not have the choice.
that said: there are so many other comfort foods to wrap yourself up in ♡ i could eat palak paneer every day (vegetarian). or congee (the kind i have usually has chicken & egg). and nothing says “childhood snow day” to me more than waffles?? honestly if it’s warm and rooted in carbs, i’ll probably consider it a comfort food.
i’d actually super-love to hear other people’s fave comfort foods too?

Weekend
12:30 AM - Jul 17, 2023
Saturday feels so good and Sunday always reminds of Monday and the countdown of ending weekend. Enjoyed my Saturday with good sleep and some happy moments with my motorcycle and family.
I haven't tried and recipe since long time so I thought to try something on Sunday, I was thinking about Paneer Kathi roll and mushroom roll but spending some time with books and small nap the evening was almost ended and had very less time for preparation. So I thought to keep it very simple and then decide to make Chilli Paneer roll, went market for some items and got chance to walk few KMs😅.
It took very less time to prepare the filling of chilli paneer and I used chpati to wrap the rolls as I don't like mayda paratha and it was delicious, my mom liked the taste and that was the good part of the day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's mid night and still thinking about some unfinished books which I could have completed today's and writing few pages but that nap almost killed good amount of time but it was much needed. Generally I don't like to sleep in day time, and spend my time with some books and songs because I have cut some time from Twitter and Instagram so that's good change which I feel.
I will wait for next weekend and some good moments and stories to add.
Sujeet.

Among the many products that can be delivered to your doorstep, fresh paneer is a delightful addition to countless dishes. If you want to make mouth-watering paneer recipes with minimal hassle, then choose to Buy best paneer online. This guide will take you through the benefits of online paneer delivery, how to choose the best supplier, and some delicious recipes to get you started.
The rise of online grocery shopping:
A new era of convenient- The digital age has ushered in a new era that makes buying groceries online easier than ever before. With just a few clicks, a wide variety of fresh produce including premium paneer can be delivered to your doorstep. This not only saves time but also ensures access to the best products without the hassle of going to the store.
Advantages of Online Paneer Delivery- Online paneer delivery offers many advantages. You can compare prices, read reviews and choose from multiple products without leaving your home. Additionally, online stores often provide detailed product information, helping you make informed choices about the paneer you buy.
Choosing the Best Paneer Online:
Factors to consider- When buying paneer online, there are many factors to consider to ensure you get the best quality. Look for suppliers that provide detailed product descriptions, including the source of the milk, production method and preservatives used. Freshness and packaging are important aspects to consider.
Reading customer reviews- Customer reviews can be incredibly insightful when choosing an online paneer supplier. Check out the reviews mentioning the texture, taste and freshness of paneer. This feedback will help gauge the supplier’s quality and reliability.
Storage and Handling of Fresh Paneer:
Proper storage techniques- To maintain the freshness and quality of your paneer, it is essential to store it properly. Keep the paneer in its original packaging or transfer to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator and use within a few days of purchase to keep it fresh and delicious.
Freezing paneer for long life- If you buy paneer in bulk or want to extend its shelf life, freeze it. Cut the paneer into cubes or slabs, wrap tightly in plastic wrap, and store in a freezer-safe container. When ready to use, thaw the paneer in the refrigerator and use as needed.
Health Benefits of Paneer:
Rich in protein – Paneer is an excellent source of protein, making it a great addition to vegetarian meals. It helps build and repair muscle, and makes you feel fuller for longer.
Good for bones and teeth – Paneer is rich in calcium and helps in maintaining strong bones and teeth. Regular consumption can help prevent osteoporosis and other bone-related problems.
Supports weight management- Paneer is low in carbohydrates and high in protein making it an excellent food for weight control. It helps build lean muscle mass and reduce fat.
Tips for cooking with Paneer:
Flavor Enhancer – To enhance the taste of paneer, marinate it before cooking. Add yogurt, spices and herbs to add depth to the dish. Also, use ghee or clarified butter to cook paneer as it adds a rich, nutty flavor.
Avoid overcooking- Paneer becomes rubbery if overcooked. Cook until it becomes hot and brown. This will ensure that the paneer is soft and crispy.
Exploring Paneer Varieties:
Different types of Paneer- There are many types of paneer available including Malay paneer (creamy paneer), low fat paneer and organic paneer. Each variety has its own unique texture and flavor, perfect for different recipes.
Special paneer products- Some suppliers offer special paneer products like flavored paneer (garlic, herbs etc) and paneer made with A2 milk. These options offer unique taste and health benefits.
Standard Source of Paneer:
Importance of Ethical Evidence- When buying paneer online, consider the supplier’s ethical practices. Look for brands that source their milk from grass-fed cows and follow sustainable farming practices. This not only ensures better quality paneer but also supports environmental sustainability.
Supporting local farmers- Choosing paneer from local dairies helps support the local economy and ensures fresh produce. Many online platforms now carry products from small-scale farmers who follow ethical and sustainable practices.
Conclusion: Enjoy the best paneer with new online delivery Embrace the convenience and quality of new online paneer delivery to enhance your culinary creations. With so many options, you can Buy best paneer online to suit your taste and dietary needs. Discovering the Delights of Traditional Indian Breakfasts with a High-Protein Twist
Tumblr media
In the vibrant culinary landscape of India, breakfast dishes are celebrated for their diversity and richness, blending spices, textures, and flavors in ways that delight the palate and energize the body. As the fitness and wellness trend continues to rise, there's a growing interest in integrating more protein into traditional meals. For those looking to combine the health benefits of a high-protein diet with the authentic tastes of Indian cuisine, reimagining traditional Indian breakfasts with a protein-rich twist is an excellent strategy. Here, we explore how to infuse high protein into Indian breakfast staples, making every morning meal not only a cultural journey but also a nutritional powerhouse.
1. Upgraded Poha: Quinoa Poha
Traditionally made from flattened rice, poha is a staple breakfast item across many parts of India. It is light yet satiating and typically includes peanuts, turmeric, chili, and mustard seeds. To elevate its protein content, replace flattened rice with quinoa. Quinoa, a complete protein source containing all nine essential amino acids, not only boosts the protein content but also enhances the dish's texture and nutritional profile. A bowl of quinoa poha can be a perfect start to the day, ensuring a sustained release of energy.
2. Protein-Packed Idli: Mixed Lentil Idli
Idli, a beloved South Indian breakfast, is traditionally made from a fermented batter of rice and urad dal (black lentils). To craft a high-protein version, consider using a mixture of various lentils like chickpeas, moong dal, and red lentils in addition to urad dal. This not only enriches the protein content but also adds a delightful twist to the flavor and color of the idlis. Serve these nutrient-packed idlis with coconut chutney and sambar for a fulfilling high protein breakfast Indian style.
3. Besan Chilla: The Savory Pancake
Besan chilla, or gram flour pancakes, are inherently high in protein as they are made from chickpea flour, which is rich in protein and gluten-free. To make them even more nutritious, add finely chopped vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, and onions, and spice it up with green chilies and ajwain (carom seeds). These pancakes are not only filling but also provide a balanced meal with fibers, vitamins, and proteins, making them an excellent high protein breakfast Indian dish for health-conscious foodies.
4. Savory Oatmeal Upma
Oatmeal is universally recognized as a hearty, comforting breakfast option. Give it an Indian twist by preparing it as upma, a traditional South Indian dish typically made with semolina. Cook the oats with mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilies, and turmeric, and add vegetables like carrots and peas to enhance its nutritional value. This dish is a wonderful way to integrate the health benefits of oats, including high protein and fiber, into a delicious Indian breakfast.
5. Masala Tofu Scramble
A plant-based take on the classic egg bhurji, this tofu scramble incorporates the same masala — onions, tomatoes, turmeric, chili powder, and coriander. Tofu, a great source of protein, makes this dish light yet satisfying. Wrap it in a whole wheat chapati or serve with a side of paratha for a hearty, high-protein meal that energizes you throughout the day.
6. Moong Dal Cheela with Cottage Cheese Stuffing
Moong dal cheela is another nutritious pancake option that can be made protein-rich by adding a stuffing of grated paneer (cottage cheese). Paneer is high in protein and provides a soft, creamy texture that complements the crispiness of the cheela. Accompany this dish with mint chutney to enhance its flavors.
Incorporating high-protein ingredients into traditional Indian breakfast recipes not only caters to the health-conscious but also preserves the authenticity of these beloved dishes. By choosing these high protein breakfast Indian options, you ensure a wholesome, delicious start to your day, packed with the goodness of proteins and the rich, diverse flavors of India. Whether you are a fitness enthusiast or simply someone looking to add a nutritious twist to your morning routine, these protein-enriched Indian breakfasts are sure to impress.

The Difference between Frankie Rolls and Kathi Rolls
Tumblr media
Frankie Rolls, originating in the bustling streets of India, have woven themselves into the cultural collages of various regions. These delectable wraps are not merely street food; they've become integral to festivals, events, and traditions. From lively celebrations to multicultural street food festivals globally, Frankie Roll plays a significant role when it comes to bringing people together, adding a flavorful touch to the festivities, and embodying the spirit of communal joy.
Just imagine you are sitting in a restaurant in San Antonio, and there is a plate full of chicken Frankie rolls, which satisfies a unique craving with its delightful flavours. The flatbread is crispy, coated in egg, and fried to a golden perfection. You can eat such delicious food anytime you want. Many people confuse The Frankie roll with a kathi roll, but they are completely different. Read this article to learn the unique differences between the Kathi and Frankie rolls.
What is Kathi Roll?
Kathi rolls originated in Kolkata, India, in the 1930s. Initially designed for the British in Kolkata, the rolls minimized hand usage in eating kebabs, similar to a sandwich. The name 'comes from bamboo sticks used to skewer kebabs. Over time, variations emerged in the original recipes. An important aspect is paratha, which must be flaky and crispy but not overpower the taste filling. The paratha is cooked twice on a large tawa. Kebabs and raw veggies like browned onions and beetroot are added to create the delectable kathi rolls.
What is Frankie Roll in San Antonio?
The roll is full of veggies cooked in a unique tawa masala and wrapped in a roti or paratha. Most of the time, the experts use eggs on one side of the paratha. Unlike the flaky, maida-based parathas in kathi rolls, these are more like the regular ones made at home. Frankies are juicier and more watery, usually wrapped in plastic or foil. The main distinction from kathi rolls lies in the tawa masala, where meat or vegetable cutlets are wrapped in a blend of roasted spices.
Both Rolls are Wrapped Differently
One of the main differences between these two foods is that frankies are wrapped in foil, whereas kathi rolls are wrapped in paper. Both are easy to eat and the feeling of tearing down the paper or sliding down the plastic foils after every bite is amazing!
Both are Prepared in Different Fillings
Kathi roll is filled with veggies, cheese, meat, paneer, and soya. On the other hand, there is a cutlet inside the Frankie roll made of cottage cheese, veggies, and a combination of sauces.
Enjoy Your Food Like the Way You Want!
Either way, both kathi rolls and Frankie rolls are the most popular foods among people in Canada. If you are a fan of the tangy taste of Frankie roll, visit our place at Indian Street Flavors in San Antonio.

Plant-Based Cooking: Oil-Free Recipes to Try Today
Tumblr media
One trend that has emerged in plant-based cooking is the use of oil-free recipes. While oils can provide flavour and texture to dishes, they are also high in calories and can contribute to health issues like heart disease. Fortunately, there are many delicious plant-based recipes that can be cooked without oil. Here are a few enticing recipes for you to explore, all enhanced with the use of Asahi Kasei products.
Lentil Curry
Take a high-quality ziplock bag such as the Asahi Kasei Zipper Bag and combine soaked lentils, chopped onion, tomato, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, garam masala, red chilli powder, and salt.
Seal the zipper bag and gently massage the ingredients to mix well.
Transfer the mixture to a pot and add enough water to cover the lentils.
Cook the lentils on medium heat until they are soft and fully cooked.
Adjust the consistency by adding more water if needed.
Once cooked, garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with rice or flatbreads
Roasted Mushroom Steaks
To make them oil-free, use Asahi Kasei Frying Pan Foil, which is a silicone-coated aluminium foil that prevents food from sticking without the need for oil.
Simply season portobello mushroom caps with salt, pepper, and your favourite herbs and spices, and roast them on the frying pan lined with the Asahi Kasei Frying Pan Foil for 15–30 minutes on medium flame.
Serve with roasted vegetables or a side salad for a delicious and satisfying meal.
With the Asahi Kasei Frying Pan Foil, the potential is limitless. You can cook your favourite dishes, like fried fish, meat, parathas, paneer tikki, omelettes, and more with essentially no oil. And when you’re done cooking, simply roll up the foil and discard it; cleanup is a breeze!
Vegetable Biriyani
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Take high-quality parchment paper like the Asahi Kasei Cooking Sheet and line your pan.
Arrange the soaked and drained rice evenly in the pan.
In a large skillet, dry sauté cumin seeds and whole spices until fragrant.
Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
Stir in ginger-garlic paste, biryani masala, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for a minute.
Add mixed vegetables and chopped tomato. Cook until the vegetables are slightly tender.
Layer the vegetable mixture over the rice in the pan.
Carefully pour water over the rice and vegetables, ensuring it covers the ingredients.
Seal the parchment paper tightly to form a packet and place it on a baking tray.
Bake for 25–30 minutes until the rice is cooked and fluffy.
Open the parchment packet, fluff the biryani with a fork, and garnish with chopped mint and cilantro before serving.
Chickpea Tikki
In a bowl, mix together mashed chickpeas, chopped onion, mashed potato, green chilli, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, chickpea flour, and salt.
Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into tikkis (patties).
Place each tikki on a piece of the Asahi Kasei Premium Wrap, which is a high-quality cling wrap. Then fold the wrap over it.
Gently flatten the tikki using your palm, still keeping it wrapped in the cling wrap.
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Unwrap the tikki and place it on the pan.
Cook until both sides are golden brown and crisp.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with your favourite chutney.
Benefits of incorporating more plant-based and oil-free meals into your diet
Plant-based cooking is a sustainable and healthy way of eating, and oil-free recipes can help you reduce your calorie intake and improve your health even further. Try incorporating the above dishes into your meal rotation for a delicious and satisfying plant-based meal. And don’t be afraid to experiment with new ingredients and flavours to create your own oil-free recipes. Your taste buds and your body will thank you.

Veg Frankie Recipe
The streets of Kolkata are where this popular Indian street food originated. It is also known by different names like, Kati Roll, Frankie Food, Frankie Recipe or Veg Frankie Recipe. Basically salty vegetables are wrapped with chapatti or wrap bread or to which pureed tomatoes and green chutney are added to enhance the taste.
Kathi Kebab Frankie was the traditional name for the dish, and was usually made with layers of paratha. However, there are now many frankie recipe variations, especially as street food.
Paneer Frankie, in which I add grated cheese and other vegetables, is a recipe I have shared already. I also made Paneer Kathi Roll from the remaining chapatti. Anyway in this recipe I use multi grain wrap which makes it more ground than regular flour rolls. This Veg Frankie Recipe also has grated cheese, but most of the ingredients are mashed potatoes and capsicum. Additionally, other vegetables like green peas, carrots and even mushrooms can also be added. In any case, I have kept it simple with just potatoes and capsicum.
Plus, some important hints and recommendations for the ideal vegetarian fry recipe. First and foremost, considering that the boiled and mashed potatoes have excessive moisture, add breadcrumbs to mix it. If you are not able to give the fried vegetables a cylindrical shape, then only you should add breadcrumbs. also, i have used multigrain envelopes as per this recipe. However, leftover paratha, roti and chapati can also be used. finally, if you like spicy vegetarian frankie then you can add tomato sauce with schezwan sauce over roti, wrap or paratha.

Paneer Frankie: A Fusion Twist to a Popular Recipe
Tumblr media
Welcome to the exciting world of fusion food, where unexpected flavours and experiences await you around every corner.
Paneer Frankie is a delicious fusion spin on a classic meal, and we’ll be exploring that world today.
You are about to experience a fusion of Indian and Western flavours that will blow your mind.
When combined in a Frankie roll, the silky paneer and spicy filling are a combination made in gastronomic bliss.
Tumblr media
How to Make Paneer Frankie
Fusion cooking is all about combining elements from different cuisines to make dishes with bold new flavours.
Paneer Frankie is a delicious example of this ideal. It incorporates flavours from the popular Indian street food Frankie with influence from the traditional Indian cuisine paneer tikka.
The resulting roti or tortilla-wrapped filling of smoky, spicy paneer makes for a great on-the-go supper.
Preparation and Ingredients for Paneer Frankie
Let’s start with the basics to make that Paneer Frankie again:
The filling’s creamy texture and mild flavour are thanks in large part to the key ingredient, paneer, an Indian cheese.
Marinade and Seasonings: Cumin, coriander, paprika, and garam masala, among other spices, create a complex and comforting flavour profile for the paneer. The paneer is infused with delicious flavours with a marinade of yogurt, ginger, garlic, and lemon juice.
A Tortilla or a Roti: The filling is held together by a thin, tender flatbread.
Seasonings and Veggies: Crunchy and flavorful toppings include freshly cut onions, bell peppers, lettuce, and a selection of chutneys or sauces.
Let’s go into the specifics of how this works:
Tumblr media
Put the paneer cubes in a bowl and mix together the yogurt, ginger, garlic, lemon juice, and spices. Paneer needs at least 30 minutes to fully absorb the flavours.
Make the rotis or tortillas while the paneer marinated. Either create them yourself or buy them premade from the supermarket.
Marinated paneer should be cooked over high heat in a skillet or on a grill until it is brown and slightly scorched. This process makes the paneer taste smoked.
To get the onions and peppers soft and caramelised, sauté them separately in a different pan.
