I still find it wildly hilarious that Okada didn't put anyone over on his way out of njpw and instantly won a championship in his first singles match in aew
aew’s always got this way of keeping its clutches in me. when im like ok i’m bored with the overall program now i think i’ll stop watching for a bit there’s just one or two things on the show i want to See so then when i watch i may as well stick around for the full thing
Finallllly saw drive my car, and my spouse's comments sum up my feelings pretty accurately: Shiro-san no hou ga yokatta, I liked Shiro-san better (aka wdyey, we call the whole show Shiro-san)
I saw you reblog my zodiac post from Tales of Edo and just wanted to say I'm also team poor little meow meow Izo. (I'm mostly about the historical Izo but it's all good. 😁)
The fgo version of him is so poor little meow meow you can't help but love him! Fate introduced me to Okada Izou as a character but at the height of my interest I researched more about the historical Izou and read as much as I could about him. Which unfortunately wasn't a lot as the only book in english I could find wasn't even about him but it was still very interesting!
one of the worst curses of having a sense of what makes a fresh and interesting story while being a pro wrestling fan (a story medium forever stuck in the mire of injury constraints, interpersonal drama, and just plain Bad Story) is every so often you'll be looking at an older story with a critical eye and then come up with an alternative so good you're almost mad about it.
Anyways you know that really uninspired run that Okada did with the IWGP world championship as Inoki's heir in 2023? What if Shibata had been the one to take the belt instead...bullet club drama is fucking OVER. Inoki's heir time.
It's here! A Game of One's Own UKGE liveshow is ready for you to enjoy on the podcast feed! In this episode, myself and @zackfg play To the Bitter End by Takuma Okada, and take on the role of rival bounty hunters!
You can find the game in The Ultimate Micro-RPG Book, edited by James D'Amato.
The man who got me into wrestling. I am more than happy to see Rey finally get into the Hall of Fame, but it is not without its worry. If Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels' inductions are anything to go by, it usually hints that Rey may even retire by Mania, which I don't want.
I know he said he wants his last match to be with Dom, but he also said he wanted to retire at 50, and he's 48 right now. We could easily give him a year to do a Liger/Muta-esque retirement tour, even culminate on WM40 if needs be, but yeah there's small worry, because as much as it's great to see the man who got me into wrestling finally get some flowers for his 20 years in WWE alone, I also don't want to see the man who got me into wrestling retire.
