Disclaimer: This is a sideblog for a Bungou Stray Dogs AU! My main account is @space-cat-in-a-teacup and my BSD-centric sideblog is @karl-raccoon-in-a-teacup . This blog will feature both manga and anime spoilers.

The Premise:

6 months before the Decay of Angels frame the Armed Detective Agency as terrorists, an English scientist named Dr. Shelley gets a list of names and a mysterious request of her ability.

Frankenstein allows her to create artificial humans that serve as fusions of two ability users. They have the abilities, physical features, and memories of the ability users they're a fusion of. It's quite a harrowing existence. Dr. Shelley's ability has no limits, as long as she knows the ability's name and general function of both users.

And she received a list of the Port Mafia, Armed Detective Agency's, and Hunting Dog's special abilities- with the explicit request to make fusions from all of them.

And who is she to refuse?

Bungou Stray Chimeras is an AU focusing on these fusion kids, 'chimeras' as they are, as they cope with their past memories/identities of the canon characters, exploring their new sense of self while remaining stuck in the lab, and eventually, what happens when they go to Yokohama and confront the ability users they orginated from.

Characters:

(This AU is OC-centric, so this tab will be used to keep track of all characters. Will update as needed.)

Paradox - Ability: No Longer Tainted Sorrow. Known as being either extremely mysterious or extremely annoying... often both, actually. Takes after Dazai in terms of hair and eye color, but there's a certain Chuuya-ness about them that's hard to deny. Not to mention their access to Corruption, and the mysterious connection that brings between them.

Rokuzo - Ability: The Matchless Poet Shalt Not Die. How someone can have the work ethic of Kunikida without having a job is answered by her existence, though calling her responsible might be an overstatement. Bears a striking resemblance to Kunikida, though the dark purple hair and softer eyes make it impossible to mistake the two.

Toyotarō - Ability: Vita Sexualis Created Equal. It's unclear where his morals lie, as he holds immense disdain for the Port Mafia and yet seems more than willing to use Mori's manipulative tactics to get what he wants. Some have claimed he resembles Q, with half his hair white and the other black, but his remaining eye is definitely Mori's.

Miyako - Ability: Golden Decadence. Though not externally very emotional, it's well-known how attached they are to the memories of both people they were made from, and the actions they'll take because of it. With their eyes and beauty mark, it's hard not to see their resemblance to Ango, but the hastily chopped hair is most certainly the color of Kouyou's.

"The Faceless Wolf" - Ability: Midwinter Rashomon. The first of the Hunting Dog fusions, not that he was intended to be. Quiet and reclusive, though he has a fierce loyalty to the few he's grown close too. His long black ponytail pairs well with his Akutagawa-esque aesthetic, though the golden eyes give him an intimidating aura of his own.

Lenore - Ability: Great Gatsby in the Rue Morgue. She seems unattached to the present state of the Guild, and no happier than Fitzgerald or Poe; a fact she openly acknowledges. Her long, pale golden hair could easily cover her eyes, but the fact it doesn't means her tired, lavender eyes are far more present.

Lemon - Ability: Lemonade Draconia. A scientist through and through, they're an odd sort of person- as wild and excitable as Kajii, almost silly one could say. But they do still bear the dragon.

Hester - Ability: The Scarlet Wind. Most don't recognize his components on first glance, considering neither of them wear worn-down jeans and leather jackets, but the over-abundance of cross-laden jewelry and those lavender eyes had to come from somewhere...

So I remembered I had access to the transparent template of the polaroid frame used for the pics that you take with Mirphy's old camera, and I wanted to both put that to good use and see how my OCs might look in as close to the game's original style as I could manage. I'm really proud of how these came out! Only thing I woulda done differently is not lock the transparency when doing the noise-then-blur thing with Cosmos, but considering they were the first one done I clearly took that as a learning experience going forward XD Also there's a good year range between all of these in-universe, the earliest being Cosmos taking a proto-selfie just fresh from getting out of the Habitat, and the latest being Teddy where it's taken after he's out as a guy and started binding. Not before he picked his current name though, hence the corrective strips and rewrite hehe.

19. Hobbies

Amali has quite a few: bug collecting, reading up on animancy discoveries, painting, singing, playing the violin, cooking, calligraphy, poetry, mechanics. She is creative and meticulous. Anything that allows her to create and that requires delicate handiwork will peak her interest.

For Eva occult is her life. She mainly focuses on Celtic, Nordic, and Medieval European witchcraft. She spends hours looking up old superstitions and rituals. One thing that Eva never wants anyone to find out is that she used to take piano lessons when she was a child and that she still thinks about

20. Clothing/Aesthetic

Amali is the sophisticated and intellectual goth: long coats, ruffled shirts, high quality leather boots and gloves, black lipstick, black nail polish, intricate embroidery, belts with tools or art supplies on them, velvet purses, fancy dresses, and lavender perfume. She mainly dresses in burgundy or dark purples, but she has also worn black and white and she has on occasion worn bright orange.

Eva is the immature punk goth: ripped fishnets, black combat boots, t-shirts with obscene logos, black leather jackets, runny eyeliner, black and red lipstick, fingerless gloves, spikes. She also incorporates a lot of charms and crystals into her outfits. She wears mostly blacks and reds, but sometimes she’ll add in some neon green or hot pink.

21. Fave food(s) and drink(s)

Amali likes to try and learn to cook many different types of foods. She loves spicy foods. Sadly, she gets sick too easily to enjoy overly spiced stuff. Eora doesn’t have grapes, but she would definitely enjoy a good red wine. She also really likes dark chocolate.

Eva needs blood, and as a Tremere, she needs a lot of it. When she was alive, she drank a lot of herbal teas. She didn’t have a favorite food per say, but she really loved candy.

22. Fave Color

Both OCs love black. Amali also likes burgundy and dark purples. Eva always loved the color red; she loves it even more so since she became a vampire.

23. Fave Genre

Horror. Both women would love to spend a stormy night in an abandoned cabin reading The King in Yellow or Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

24. Fave Season

Eva’s favorite is autumn. Happy Halloween! In all seriousness though, fall has such a beautiful dark and red aesthetic without it getting too cold.

Amali likes it right on the edge of fall and winter. Even though she gets cold very easily, there is something about winter’s desolation that she finds very appealing. She doesn’t really like snow, however. It is most beautiful when it’s dark and barren and empty and snow kind of ruins it.

25. City or Country?

Both Amali and Eva are city gals. Amali grew up in a poor district in the capital of Old Vailia and is very familiar with run-down homes, dark alleyways, dockside taverns. When she moves to the Dyrwood, she learns to find beauty in the dark woods, frightening creatures, haunted castles, of which her new home offers plenty.

Eva cannot do the countryside to save her life. This only got worse when she became a vampire. Not only do cities offer a larger feed pool, but now she knows that there are werewolves and other vampire-hating nasties out in the country.

26. Guilty Pleasure

I’m not sure if Amali can really have a guilty pleasure. She has many interests that others find morbid or confusing, and she really isn’t ashamed of it.

Eva does not want others to know that she can play the piano. She kind of associates it with her boring childhood. She also refused to admit that she finds cats and kittens freaking adorable!
