yk speaking of fallen idol you could actually draw a pretty decent parallel between radar acting all affronted because hawkeye had to take five during surgery and the rest of the camp acting all affronted because hawkeye yelled at radar

like they do all put him on a pedestal, not just radar, and that's kind of more evidence of it lol, hawkeye mildly fucks up once, ruins radar's faith in the world. hawkeye gets upset when one of his friends is being an unfair dumbass once, draws the wrath of everyone else because how dare he not be the perfect personable friend to lean on and look up to.

i mean idt it's intentional, but it definitely fits.

There is a very specific sort of antisemitism that is seemingly common in mental health facilities and its fucking terrifying

#the last 2 times ive been in a mental hospital it was always the most visibly jewish person who got targeted by nurses #and i happened to be the most visibly jewish person in a psychward the last time #its like. the 1st time there were more jewish people in there and the one of us who got it the worst was an older woman with bipolar disord #and like. many of us who noticed how terrible she was getting treated had to tell staff off multiple times #like wtf stop u r literally just poking her with a stick at this point trying to get her to have a meltdown so u have an excuse #to lock her away #it was so fucked #and the rest of us jews in there were like... slightly more stable enough to ignore the taunting from staff #like they'd find the smallest shit to get on our asses about or tell us we're being delusional abt things out of nowhere #like they tried to get a rise out of us specifically so they could frame us as crazy and neurotic when we get frustrated #and the last time i had the mosfortune of being the 1 of 2 jews who was visible and very unstable #i was made sick by nurses on purpose and then gaslit when i was up all night vomiting #i had to be given an injection and sedated the next day just so i would stop projectile vomiting all over my room #i had multiple seizures and they told.me i was throwing myself on the floor #they did things to make me break on purpose #and they did it to others to but #it was different w how they did it to me?#and when they didn't let me go to the main eating area bc i kept fainting/seizing they ordered me shit with pork when i have kosher diet #it was fucked and i know this is a problem #its a problem in outpatient too #i ended up homeless for like a year bc an antisemitic counselor fucked me over #vent

Some days the hardest part of my job is convincing other people that they actually need to do their job. No you are not doing me a favour and I'm not asking for a favour either, I'm telling you to do your goddamn job.

#medblr #residency chronicles #everyone else was putting up their legs and stuff #and they were making faces when i asked them to do their job #on the other hand i didn't get to eat or drink anything for the first 6 hours of the shift #im still salty about it #like yes you need to monitor the patient im wheeling in with the instruction 'monitor the patient'#no it's not enough to measure their blood pressure every ten minutes or so #i need the whole BP-HR-Sat monitor thing #also it's only temporary and the patient will be placed in 30 minutes #also there are two of you and only two other patients on the floor i don't think im asking for a lot when i tell you to also draw some blood #yes i know how to draw blood but also it's literally in your job description #these two particular nurses are the bane of this floor #they are the only ones who i have to actually beg to give the patient in pain some pain killers #pain killers i ordered hours ago #and they have the nerve to say the patient is just faking it #like sure they are fake crying but let's see how well you would hold up with a broken femur on that godforsaken bed with no pain killers hm?

Decided just now that it'd be really funny to have a whole bunch of different d&d characters who are all like former knights of the same order or crestfallen sellswords from the same mercenary company but also have all of them individually believing for their own reasons that they are the last surviving member of their group

#like they all think the others died horribly but all of them are alive and well just like not living near each other #like one of them saved up bought a spelljammer and set off to the astral sea #and she kept in contact via sending stones but during a pirate attack she dropped her stone overboard and is presumed dead #since that was her only method of communication with the material plane or something #One guy headed off to an ancient mystic mountain to hone their skills and everyone's just like ''Yeah NOBODY survives that mountain''#one guy who's like immortal and doesn't need to eat is just keeping an eternal vigil over some dead necromancer #making ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN he doesn't get back up #other member was injured presumed dead but nursed back to health by a nearby friendly peasant family #sort of thing #one dude just actually straight-up retired and just ghosted the group because he thought it'd be awkward #the warden of the keep heard the rumors they all spread and was just like ''Damn.. everybody's dead...'' and just locked the doors forever #which resulted in more gossip saying their order and/or company has fallen for good that all the others hear about #so they're all individually like ''Damn. looks like I'm the last knight and/or mercenary of the fallen order'' when they absolutely are not #I think it could be a funny concept to play with #Pun's text Posts

Anyway, everyone should take a notebook to their doctor's appointment and keep notes when the doctor explains what is going on.

#I am not sure how I feel about this honestly #like it was weird having the nurses greet me there by calling each other over going #'this patient has such a cool job!'#but like. that's my job. it's fine.#it just seems weird to be. memorable to someone who sees half a dozen different patients every day (I assume)#it's kind of irritating at this point the number of people who comment on my small handwriting #INCLUDING THE DOCTOR TALKING TO MY MOTHER MONTHS LATER IN MY ABSENCE #but overall it's like. I was being an unremarkable person! I went there to achieve a goal (information on my health)#and I achieved that goal and I left!#and I don't have. the differences between my old work and my current one are. so jarring

#for context i still do night shifts at my old work for extra cash a couple times a month #and the difference in treatment is. insane #my patients here (they do regular scheduled tx) are so happy to see me and genially miss me #even the cleaning staff gets happy to see me one lady hugged me and said she missed me working the day shift #i spent half my ward rounds chatting w patients who were asking where ive been #and the nurses refuse to let me lift a finger i asked if they want me to help and they stare wide eyed and say ofc not #and! the nurses are my friends! we order food on the down time and spend time together #meanwhile at my other work i gotta beg the nurses to do their job and fend for myself 90% of the time #its insane #ive been offered a position at this workplace once my residency is complete #and i am 110% taking it #i cant WAIT. double salary and perfect work conditions?

been out of zoloft for 2 days feeling dizzy w a headache my refill is in my apartment mailbox and I don't have a key and im scared im gonna start getting the Brain Zaps lol

#bc doctors are the ones who give the orders but the nurses are the ones who have to carry them out #so if you make stupid decisions then yeah the nurses are gonna be on your ass when they're the ones stuck with a patient who is still doing-#-poorly and they can't make any decisions to change the care plan unless the doctor gives new orders #or like when aides are put in charge of watching over an aggressive patient and the doctors refuse to order sedatives or restraints #like okay then you come here and get punched then #personal

I don’t hate a lot of people but I do hate the garbage hospitalist at my job who is so utterly incompetent and thought it was OK to leave a patient in excruciating pain and agitation related to metastasized cancer all night long with inadequate pain meds because she doesn’t feel comfortable prescribing anything more than a microdose of Dilaudid. We made her come up to the room and go in there to see him writhing on the bed and crying and restrained because he was so out of it with pain and possible brain mets and we needed to protect his IV line running the chemo and yeah she just left him as he was.

#I hate her so much #she is having a baby and it’s the best news ever because it means she will be gone on maternity leave and away from my patients #we all hate when she’s on #this is the same woman who thinks 0.5 mg of melatonin is an appropriate sleep aid for someone trying to yeet themselves out of bed #maybe she’ll decide to cut back when her kid is born #anything to get her away #she does not deserve to work with patients #they deserve better than her #she also left one of my pts in withdrawals all night and the only thing she ordered was a UA #and I was like. he just told me. everything that he takes. he had the classic withdrawal symptoms. and even if he DIDNT #my man is in severe pain maybe we could get him some pain meds???????#i hate her i hate her i hate her #nursing
