Everything I have ever done flickering on my eye like gaze is this end ...I wondered
and said "I wish"
Shut it once and for all
Don't wake me tomorrow, let me **switch off** my alarm, I'll pretend dead as I wasn't all those times with my eyes open.
I'll pretend not living as if I was living with my eyes open. -thepsychopoetry/13

Anna Konstantinovna Chertkova posed for the painting “In Warmed Lands” (”В тёплых краях” ) (1890) by Nikolay Alexandrovich Yaroshenko (1846-1898) At that time, the painter himself was very ill with a heavy form of the tuberculosis in the throat. He wrote to her, “a month with a half, I had a motionless and useless body, I could only lay down or sit in a chair on pillows,  just like I painted you in my work.”

"Why have I such a sensation of joy, of liberty? Yes, of liberty; I think of tomorrow's execution, and it seems to me that it does not exist. I look at the walls, and they seem to me not to exist either. And i feel as free as if instead of being in prison, I had just come out of another cell in which I had been confined all my life." ... On one side he saw life, and on the other he saw death: and they were like two deep seas, sparking and beautiful, melting into each other at the horizon in a single infinite extension."
