your injuries have never been that serious to where dr. retro was forced to use her lasers as a last resort. and the doctor hopes that day will NEVER ever come. whenever you mention feeling curious about the green beams, it fills her with a bit of dread
do you know how purring helps cats heal??? and it can ALSO help other beings?!? when you two are cuddled up together dr. retro sounds like she’s revving a whole ass motorcycle, her purrs are that loud. not only that... she’s REALLY warm and fuzzy so it’s like a huge soft blankettt!!<3 we love dr. retro in this house frfr!!!!

Both were sort of equal here compared to the show, whereas in the show Ladybug is oftentimes the one who can do everything without Cat Noir, it was nice to see more CN appreciation <3

marinette solved all her problems and fixed all her character flaws by singing one song
like, it was mildly engaging, but i kinda got whiplash with how fast the plot progressed, like i was watching the world collapse in front of me in a matter of seconds - not sure what went wrong, but it just left me wanting more and feeling like there could be gaps filled
anyways, what can i expect for a movie that has to cram an entire origin story and final battle in 1.5 hours
ended in a way that made me happy tho :)
FINAL THOUGHTS
it was fine... animation & music was solid, but the plot felt kinda mid to me...TBH EVERYTHING IS MID COMPARED TO SEASON FIVE

A/N: First story....hahahhahahahahaha.....HELP WHY DID I WRITE THIS...I was sick while writing this, spare me from the corrections...I actually have no idea how to organize this, but wish me luck frfr!!, i spent 5 minutes telling myself to just post this.....
You were dying inside. Truely. It all started at Thanksgiving dinner.
Your little cousin had been curious about special abilities. And, while there was no problem about talking about this, the question had been directed at you. All of your family looked at you.
All. Of. Them.
You had never really liked your family. But, as a 13-year-old girl, what did you know? You were never valued. They would all hold back on important topics that needed to be discussed when you were around. They thought that since you were “So Young,” you had to have your innocence kept, like a prisoner inside a cage.
But, the truth was, you really understood more about these topics than they did. They thought that a child such as yourself was so innocent? Yeah, that was far from the truth. You’d seen, heard, and smelt things in your life that they would probably be unable to handle and run away at at a single glance.
And somehow, despite them acting like your innocence needed to be caged, you were abused. A lot. If you said something they didn’t like? You were beat up until you were begging for mercy. You were busy with something when they asked you to do another? You were beat until you passed out. You wanted to run. Really, truely. You wanted to run away, but you couldn’t. You could disappear for hours at a time, but you couldn't just run away from home. You would be found and beaten to death if you did, you were sure of it.
But still, as those eyes were turned to you, you were given a chance. A chance to show to them that you knew more than they allowed you to talk about. And well, you were interrupted. By your uncle.
You just sighed, picking at your mashed potatoes as his booming voice, similar to loudspeaker, let out the annoying sounds of ignorance to the topic at hand. “Hah, well!” Your uncle snickered. “Abilities are special powers that certain people can use.” Your uncle said, then leaned back on his chair again.
That was all he knew, really? While it was, in fact, what they were, he could’ve told her about the different types of abilities, about the people who use them, about how some people can’t control them, maybe about how it’s so unfair if you had a naturally dangerous ability…?
No, he didn’t know about it, but you did. And you spoke up. “Yes,” You said, slightly smiling at the thought of what your familys’ facial expressions would be in a moment. “And some people are unaware that they have them. Some of them cannot control it, and it’s really unfair.” You started, looking around at the baffled faces of everyone around the dinner table.
“They end up locked up, captured, for the ability they cannot control. And usually, they end up executed.” You said with a straight face, a slight smile tugging at your lips. And suddenly, your father looked at you with those eyes. Shit, you were about to sustain a large beating right in front of you family.
If you cried or ran away, you would just be beaten harder. So, as your father’s rough voice came out of his lips. “Come over here.” You started to walk over there. You stood right in front of him. And took it.
His fists tightened as he hit your face hard enough for you to fall over and bang your head on the floor. You started to feel woozy. Did you have a concussion or something? Probably. But as your father crouched down and took off his belt, you gulped. He was using a belt this time? You really fucked up, didn’t you?
He scrunched it together and started to hit your ribs. It hurt like crazy, but you took it. How couldn’t you? You didn’t have anywhere else to go, you didn’t. All you had that wasn’t theirs’ was your cat special ability, and well, that didn’t help that much either.
Maybe you could sustain a living as a street cat? Yeah, an unlikely story. You were bound to die and be beaten on the streets, the same thing you would be running away from. And you were sure cat food would taste like shit too. You had no hope, but still, as you spoke up to your uncle, it felt good.
You felt valued as your little cousin looked at you in awe.
You felt seen, something you rarely felt in your life.
As you slipped from consciousness, you were calm, the rarest emotion in your life.
You woke up, looking around. You were on a couch. They had moved you out of the way. You sat back up, looking around even more. And well….there was blood right where you head had been laying. You sighed, touching your head.
Yup, your head was bleeding. However, it was patched up. That was weird, why had that happened? Now that you think of it, you were bandaged all over. Your green T-shirt with an orange cat and blue jeans remained. Afterall, those were the only clothes your parents bought you.
You sighed. Were you really gonna keep on living life like this? Always being beaten until you passed out? Being like a little, helpless, mouse? No. You weren't....but you'd need to plan first. And plan is what you did.
A few days later, a documentary of Yokohama, Japan came on. It told all about ability user and such. Yokohama, the neighboring city to Kawasaki, where you lived. You researched A LOT about Yokohama after seeing that.
And finally, one day after a heafty beating, you finally used your ability to escape. You sat on the roof, sighing in your unfashionable outfit. A plain white shirt, black gym shorts stolen from your brother(you tied it tight), an open olive green jacket, white socks, and grey tennis shoes.
You would really need to get some fashion sense...maybe you could pick some up when you got to Yokohama? Eurgh, whatever.
You stood up and used your ability, just like all those other times you did it to get a break from your family. But this time, you ran away.
”Special Ability: The Travelling Cat Chronicles!” You yelled, as you jumped off the roof, turning into a cat affectively and running to the next city over; Yokohama.
With no plan, with an unforeseen future, you ran away to Yokohama, the so-called heaven for ability users. And shit, it felt amazing.

he’s an EMPATH AHH-
being fr, he had probably never been told ‘no’ a day in his life. His views have always been backed up/encouraged by other people and he probably believes he could do no wrong as long as he thinks its okay.
He also probably doesn’t see the bigger picture in situations.
Like with the Jade Emperor, all he was focused on was what the Jade Emperor/Heaven was doing and stopping them, rather than the consequences of what killing the Jade Emperor would bring.
He didn’t think about what would happen after he became the new emperor.
Even if he could have handled the Jade Emperor’s power, I think he still wouldn’t have known what the fuck he was doing and shit would have gone wrong anyway because of his own negligence and lack of planning.
Like, their plan was to kill the Jade Emperor because of shit heaven was doing. Cool, that’s all dandy. So what happens after that?
After the Jade Emperor was killed, there’s no guarantee that the immortals in heaven would even recognise/accept him as their new emperor
uhh, a n yway-
He FOR SURE has like, a 26-step hair routine, have you SEEN THAT MANE??
He is really meticulous about maintaining things, like his hair, his sword, his want for vengeance-
his scent is like metal, black ice and pine
hes really kind and helpful when hes not plotting to take over the world-
Like in season 5, he shows remorse when the brotherhood attacks the MK gang, even telling them to stop attacking
He also gives MK multiple chances to leave peacefully, showing that he doesn’t want to fight/hurt him
Like, he would unironically call himself an empath and we love that for him :)
Lions really enjoy relaxing and just laying around and while Azure is really active and fit, when hes not training or actively doing something, hes bathing in the sun like a mf cat
Peng and Yellowtusk be lookin’ for their leader and hes just dramatically laying on a rock in the sun fr-
he is also really dramatic, did you not see his first scenes?
he literally poses with the dramatic wind, saying his own name like-
Lions are also pretty social and hunt cooperatively so his friends mean everything to him
He also unironically calls his group of friends his ‘pride’
Lions have really good night vision so there have been multiple instances where it’s the dead of night and Peng’s gone down to the kitchen in the dark to get a snack and then all of a sudden-

Azure gives all his friends head nuzzles whether they want it or not (head nuzzling is a common greeting for lions :D)
It also takes a huge conscious effort for him to not lick and ‘groom’ his friends

My favorite HC’s:
-NY is basically a cat in human(?) form
-Loui is BEYOND flexible and can drop into a split or back bend at literally any given moment. He has used this to his advantage when haunting the Statehouse at night. Just ask Alaska.
-When Loui first became a state, he was absolutely terrified of literally everyone and would let nobody touch him, and if they were talking, there would be at least 8ft of space between them.
-NY acts all tough, but we all know that this man is an absolute dorky softie that just wants to be held
-TX absolutely ADORES animals and he will look at animals and animal pictures all day and squeal like a little girl at each one
-TX does not know how to handle any type of affection
-Mass is a friggin’ ✨N E R D✨
-NY will climb anything and everything and he’s really friggin good at it. He will be getting chased by Mass cuz he did something to piss him off and he’ll just climb up the first tall tree he sees cuz Mass can’t climb for sh*t. Mass will then just get somebody like Texas or Colorado to climb.

You know I got to ask you about the main bois. Yakou and Vivia
Since, I'm feelin' extra, I'll talk about both of them separately and then talk about the ship!
First up, the man, the myth, the legend(27): Yakou! For my first impression of him, why not go back to the source? This is the first message I wrote about him when his name and summary was revealed. Suffice to say, I was very excited.
Yakou instantly hooked me and I had plenty to enjoy about him even before the game released. I got so frustrated that Yakou was being censored out of the English character trailers since Nintendo said 'nuh uh,' but I'm glad Chunsoft said 'fym nuh uh' and shared voice clips of Yakou on Twitter. I fought so hard against the theories that Yakou would die, too (but look where that got me... in anime Resident Evil). He was my favorite since day one!
As for headcanons, I know I've shared a few, so I'll do a lightning round! Yakou owns a retro gaming console; he's still got the mixology skills down pat; he knew how to do parkour in his youth, and can sometimes pull off tricks nowadays (heavy emphasis on sometimes, he is renowned for failing horribly a grand majority of the time); he writes his own silly editor's notes in the books he buys; he makes up tall tales about his raincoat's decals and his scars; he's a stomach sleeper and snores loudly; he has a very good mental map, even for places he's rarely been to, he's the go-to 'ask me for directions' guy.
As for complaints n praises, y'all know how I've sang to the rooftops about how Yakou is what I believe to be one of Kodaka's best written characters he's ever made. The only complaint I genuinely have is that he doesn't get more screentime. I would've loved more bonding time with him n the detectives, not just Yuma. I wish he was the one who told Yuma that he's doing the right thing as a detective instead of Kurumi, even if it would be interlaced with plenty of scolding for Yuma getting himself in trouble with the peacekeepers yet again.
And my overall opinion shouldn't be a surprise. He's my number one favorite in Rain Code, y'all know the drill.
Next order of business is Vivia! My first impression of him started out before he even had a name. There were illustrations of him released before his name was revealed, so I ended up nicknaming him 'Radioactive' cause his design looked like the physical embodiment of Radioactive by Imagine Dragons at the time (but I know not to disrespect him like that anymore). When his name and the photo of him laying under the piano was finally shared, me and my boyfriend collectively adored him.
All it took was that one piano image to make me spiral into an unshakeable association with the instrument for Vivia.
A perfect transition into talking about headcanons for Vivia, lightning round two! He plays piano to improve his self-expression; he is the equivalent of a cat in a human body; he can fit into places he shouldn't be; he can purr cause I said so; he prefers to sleep with candlelight due to paranoia caused by his Forte; he's the eldest brother out of his family; he knows how to care for basic wounds cause he was the one who supported his brothers' when they were injured from roughhousing.
I don't necessarily have any complaints about Vivia either. Other than the obvious 'gimme more content,' he's a solid character! He's a great rival and assistant for chapter 4, and his DLC is my favorite of the bunch! His Forte is the most interesting of the Master Detectives shown so far, and there's lots of room for growth if he were to appear in a sequel.
Overall opinion: second favorite for plenty of reasons as shown here and in many of my other posts!
Now I shall discuss Viviakou! I'm very active in shipping them, writing up content for them and thinking about them on the daily. It helps that me n my boyfriend also ramble about them often, cause they just like us frfr. We're both grateful it's a pretty darn popular ship, cause the fanart and fics fuel us.
The third and final headcanon lightning round! Yakou picks up guitar to duet with Vivia's piano; Vivia got the umbrella tattoo in Kanai Ward after the events of his DLC as a symbol of them protecting one another; Vivia will go out of his way to come up with the most poetic pet names of all time, while Yakou keeps it short n simple, which can be just as effective since he likes to use them only for their more intimate moments; Yakou is the ocean to Vivia's moon; they write notes to each other in the books they borrow from one another; they have those long distance couple bracelets that when one of the wearers touches it, it sends a signal to the other person, which is something they like to do when Vivia's at the agency and Yakou's out investigating or vice versa.
Overall opinion: Perfect ship for all my fluff and angst needs. They feel like the natural evolution of Komahina to me. Am I the only one who thinks that?

So basically: After a finch dies they get some sort of power linking to their death or what they wanted most
For example, Calvin and Barbara: Barbara has the ability to uh, basically kill ya ears with her new scream and she's a speedy bitch/j meanwhile Calvin can fly/float and teleport (he can also teleport a person.)
Sam has the ability to get a perfect shot, even if not aiming at the person.
Walter can uh...idfk summon a fuckin train?-
Edith. Let's see... Y'know how those words pop up with Edith's voice in-game? Yeah she can do that anywhere now (say if gus or someone was causing trouble, words would pop up in front or beside them with Edith's voice saying smth :3) oh and she can also teleport because why not
