“Do not cry—they do not help our situation.”
Garmadon furiously wiped at his eyes. He wasn’t crying because he was sad—it was just a reaction. Why couldn’t his father understand that? Or perhaps, he did, and Garmadon needed to grow up.
After all, the venom of the Great Devourer merely exacerbated his already destructive tendencies. If it were Wu or Minne, who were bitten, they would not wreak havoc like him. They were good at heart. Unlike him. He needed to control his emotions—yes, that was what his father was hinting at.
There was no need to cry—after all, it wouldn’t help Garmadon undo the destruction he caused.
“Do not cry—you are better than that.”
Wu quelled the overwhelming numbness with a few trained breaths. The tears sprouted at the corners of his eyes, but he did not let them fall. Instead, blinking several times he let them flow back into his eyes. He was better than this. He could control his emotions. His father did not have to worry about him wreaking havoc like Garmadon.
He did not offer up an excuse. Wu merely followed his father's words because he knew best. Older than Minne, purer than Garmadon, he was the prime example, the epitome of good in this world. He was above letting emotions cloud what was truly important. A son of God—he allowed the emotions to filter out of his mind.
“Do not cry—nothing will come out of it.”
Minne gritted her teeth at the statement. Even the shuddering breaths did little to stop the sobs—every attempt felt as if she was choking herself underwater. Her thoughts spiraled into blankness, focusing on every situation she could have used to avoid this very encounter before erasing itself.
There was no reason for her to cry—not like this, not in front of her father. Especially not for this. This entire situation could have been avoided if not for her failure—it was her fault, so why was she crying?
Her father was a reasonable man. He understood that emotions were necessary. Crying at a loved one’s loss, or when something sounded sad. That was allowed. But situations like these were her duty to handle—that was her failure so why was she crying?
“Why do you cry?”

Lloyd Headcanons
It’s ya favorite green dragon!
He has an identity crisis every other week. At this point, he wouldn’t be surprised if some otherworldly creature told him he had some snek blood in him at this point. He’s asked Minne to detail his ancestry, so he’s not blindsided everytime but uh—he falls asleep 15 minutes in.
He inherited the fangs that the Spinjitzu Siblings all have. Although, he doesn’t have their pointy ears (due to Misako being fully human), his eyes border that of Dragon/Oni (depending on his mood).
Kai’s actually the one who cuts his hair, especially after he went to a hairdresser & ended up trauma dumping on him. The poor hairdresser had to go to therapy after that.
He has no clothes other than his gis and like one casual wear. If anyone else asks, it’s b/c his gis are more comfortable than regular clothes. Kai cries at that fashion sense.
He’s not bad at drawing so when he’s with Nya—he actually helps with the blueprints. Some of the newer vehicles started from Lloyd’s blueprints with minor tweaking from Nya, Minne, & Jay (due to some measurement problems).
His GoGoKart 8 character is Gawser Jr. b/c it’s literally him. He’s a menace on that character. He has this thing where if it’s not this character—he will lose. Even when the developers added the ninjas for tribute, Lloyd would never play his character.
He’s seriously empathetic. After Morro, he tried to shut out this part & he had to go through serious mood irritabilities before he could get this under control. All the ninjas had to pose an intervention with some of Wu’s magic tea.

I think another important distinction between Minne, Wu, and Garmadon is the difference between self-sacrifice for the world vs. themselves.
Any difficult decision there is Minne would always volunteer as sacrifice. She fully cannot see herself continuing this cycle—this lifestyle.
Garmadon would have a plan that involved his self-sacrifice if needed. After all, he is the monster that wreaked havoc. But it is not his first plan.
Wu would survive by all means necessary (with the exception if Destiny has planned for it). He will not offer himself as sacrifice when there is always another way.
