You two are the classic right person wrong time.

It was obvious that you two loved each other but there was always something in the way. When he was with Addison you were with Mark. You were single he wasn't.

At first you didn't want to get into the drama that surrounded Derek, Meredith and anyone else that was involved. It didn't matter being Derek's best friend made in involved the moment you joined the hospital.

For some background you and Derek had been best friends since you were kids. You had longed for something more with him but he found Addison... Then Meredith. You did your best to be supportive but it started to hurt more as you kept your feelings a secret.

Suprisenly you and Meredith are good friends but you couldn't help but feel angry as Derek put everything into the relationship while she kept pushing him away.

It wasn't the smartest decision in the world but as Meredith pushed him away you started to avoid him. You didn't want to get your hopes nor did you want to be a rebound.

I hurt him more than you realized and after about a week he conred you.

“I'm not avoiding you... I've just been busy”

You started arguing after the white lie he saw right through. He knew you like the back of his hand and you two hadn't fought since the 11th grade when Mark asked you to prom.

“because I love you! And I can't lose you too!” derek shouted. That made the fire between you stop. Silence fell as you looked at him with wide eyes.

“it's always been you and I'm so sorry... I'm sorry I was so blind”

You shook your head not believing him. He stepped closer to you and admitted he broke up with Meredith because he realized it was you that he wanted.

“Meredith isn't you...Addison wasn't you”

At first your relationship was kept on the down low. Only a few people knew and Meredith wasn't one of them.

You wanted to be the one to tell her you just hadn't figured out how to do it.

Eventually you told her. She was upset at first but was happy for you. In the end she didn't see Derek like that anymore.

Even if you guys decide to take things slow at first he's still an amazing boyfriend.

If your acused of 'ruining' his and Meredith's relationship he will immediately have your back. Hell even Meredith dose once she gets used to it.

Your just perfect for him.

You'll ride the ferry boat with him and he'll watch any movie you want.

He'll basically do anything for you. I wasnt a dog, done. You want to go to universal studios, done. You want the moon he'll get it.

He's very protective and careful with you. He's terrified to lose you.

He gives the best hugs and kiss. He's not afraid to show his love for you but not too big in PDA.

You hate the trailer but will stay every night if he asked you too.

He comes up with the best dates but if you want to stay home and watch movie he'll have the time of his life.

He's a cuddler and needs a lot of contact, so be prepared to always be in his arms if your not working.

Your a peds surgeon so it's always exciting to have a surgery together. On a side note you always steal his scrub caps.

It's not long before your relationship grows strong and unbreakable.

After about three years you do get married and have kids.

The wait was long but you have never regreted it. You two love each other more than anything and you couldn't be happier.

back again with my obnoxiously long stream of thoughts while watching greys anatomy for the first time (SEASON 17 bc the show is going downhill but i’ve invested way too much time to give up now)

-i really don’t like watching the covid seasons of tv shows. it just makes me depressed

-i have been getting to the point where idk if the show is worth watching anymore, but i’m going to stick it out and also cut this season some slack

-i like the flashback thing. maybe this is dumb but i’m wondering if some of that was footage they already had before covid happened and they found a way to repurpose it??

-“i’m not okay with you dying, owen” very unrelatable, teddy

-at the risk of sounding like i care for owen hunts well-being, i am BEGGING for him to just be single for once in his life. figure your shit out without having to have a new wife every five minutes. i thought he’d make progress with that therapy thing but at the end of it he was just like “figuring out the root of my trauma made me realize i DO love teddy :D”

-DEREK??????

-i know she’s not dead but this also isn’t the same limbo from the drowning incident so i’m confused

-so are we saying that heaven is canon in the greys anatomy universe??????

-owen has every right to be pissed at teddy, but it sounds like he’s forgetting he also cheated on his first wife lol. not that that makes it okay, i just mean that some of the things he’s saying are beyond hypocritical

-i am the worst person in the world for shitting on a child actor like this but the little girl that plays zola sucks at fake crying

-NO NOT DELUCA

-a death has not upset me this much on this show since mark and lexie

-part of the difference in the writing that i was talking about with the last few seasons is that i feel like they aren’t letting us draw our own conclusions about how we’re supposed to feel about things anymore. like they’re telling us through dialogue exactly what we’re supposed to think and feel about every situation and it’s kind of annoying. or it’s spelling out exactly what each character is feeling all the time instead of showing us. the dialogue is just sort of forced and clunky and after-school-special-y

-i like that there’s been more of a focus on teddy. other than the henry storyline, she’s sort been a bit unexplored until recently

-damn teddy’s life really has just been rife with tragedy

-tell him amelia !! get his ass

-is teddmelia a ship??? i kind of want it to happen

-lexie and deluca would’ve gotten along like a house on fire :(

-the beach is beautiful and the scenes are great but i DO NOT need to be seeing derek’s bare feet and ankles so much

-“i just really need to be crying right now” amelia is so real

-this season is the most upsetting to me i think because it’s the most real. i think that’s why i don’t like covid seasons of shows. other seasons might draw inspo from real world events but in 2020 there was no way to write a show without talking about all the awful tragedy going on so even if they try to infuse hope into all the bleakness there’s no escapism. which i’m not saying is a bad thing at all. like it would’ve been worse to just write the storylines as if nothing was happening in the real world.

-baileys immediate reaction to the guy who thinks covid is fake being to go to the stairwell and just yell “WHAT? WHAT?!” is so real

-i like the idea of jo switching to OB but i think it’s a little ignorant and naive to say it’s because it’s “happier” than surgery. like realistically it’s bc she likes the idea of bringing babies into the world bc she’s been unpacking the way she came into the world and stuff. but saying it’s happier just feels like a way of saying “easier” and i thought we were past the weird elitist attitude a lot of the characters had towards obstetrics and gynecology in the early seasons.

-i’m happy for tom with his activism and his hospital shares

-a semi public proposal and using the kids to pressure her (inadvertently?) does not seem like amelia’s style even if she hadn’t been questioning whether or not she wanted to get married.

-overall a good chunk of this season was alternately too bleak or too boring. i wish we got to know winston a bit more. everyone felt just slightly off kilter. giving it a pass bc covid season. hopefully the next season (and my possible reaction/commentary??? if it’s worth reacting to) will be better

Christmas Cookies (Mark Sloan)

Paring: Mark Sloan X Shepard!Reader.

Summary: you promised your friends and coworkers you'd make your famous Christmas cookies. Mark decids if he's gonna help you or not.

A/N: way back in my early years of writing this was a Tony stark imagine so it being Christmas time now I decided to fix it up a bit and change the character. Let me know if you guys want to see a Derek version or just something Christmas themed with him.

--------(1st pov)--------

As a doctor you don't get to too much time off, Especially around the holidays. You got people falling of ladders while putting lights up. Car crashs due to ice, and so on. To put it delcetly I was surprised I got the day of this close to Christmas, but I wasn't complaining. But what was I doing on my day off you may ask? I wasn't relaxing like a normal person, I was making cookies...

I guess I can't complain, I love baking and I did promise my closest friends I'd make some for the up coming Christmas party. I kinda became everyone's go-to chef or baker. Half of us doctors never bothered to cook or learn due to lack of time or energy. I on the other hand knew just about everything evolving a kitchen.

I was already done with a batch of gingerbread cookies Jackson asked for. They were decorated like doctors because I thought it'd be funny. Anyway, I mistakenly left them unsupervised as I started a new batch. I stopped for a second to turn on my Playlist when I heard a crunch. I sighed and turned around.

Two gingerbread cookies were now missing. “really?” I asked with a slight smile.

Mark stopped mid chew and and just shrugged with a smile. I rolled my eyes and chuckled a bit. “you know those are for the Christmas party.”

“and they are delicious” he confirmed dusting the crumbs of his hands. I rolled my eyes and smiled.

“well if your gonna be in here and bother me you might as well help” I told him setting a bowl of dough in front of him.

“technically I was helping. I was tast testing” he said standing up and wrapping his arms around me from behind. I playfully sighed and turned around in his arms pushing him. He walked backwards and too a seat on a stool that was next to the counter I was working at.

“how about actually helping or you can leave the kitchen" I told him. He jumped off the stool and stood in front of me with his arms crossed. “technically this is Derek's kitchen. You can't kick me out of something that isn't yours baby” he smirked.

He's technically right. I do live at my Brother's house and I have yet to move out. But Mark doesn't have to be right all the time. I turned around and pointed a wooden spoon at him. “watch me Sloan”

He smirked and looked down at me with his arms crossed. He was probably about 6 inches taller than me give or take. So the thought of someone as small as me taking him probably humored the hell out of him.

He raised is eyebrows and tilted his head like he was waiting for my move. After a minute long stair down I just rolled my eyes and went back to the cut-out dough on the sheet that set on the counter. As I continued to decorate the cookies I felt mark's eyes on me as he leaned against the counter. He probably had one of his smug grins on his face.

As I moved to the sink to rinse my hands I felf a pair of arms snake around my waist. Mark huged my body to his chest as his chin rested on my shoulder.

“mark, what are you doing?” I asked as I felt him start leaving kisses down my neck.

All I got was a muffled response as he buried his face in the crok of my neck. “you smell good... Like cookies” he responded seductively.

I roll my eyes and smiled. “alright Mark” I loosen his grip and turn around to face him. He smirked and braces his hands on the counter behind me, trapping me in between he and the counter.

“Why don't you take a break and hang out with me” he smirks. I sighed and turned my back towards him.

“come on, Mark I have to get these done” Mark rolled his eyes as I proceed to work.

Mark crossed his arms and continued to talk. “you know, my Flurting work on most women. I enchanted them even”

I let out an airy chuckle. “most women didn't get the chance to see what a pain in the neck you are” I said playfully. I turned around and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek to emphasize I was joking.

I let out a laugh but it was cut short when a questionable but sly smile plastered acrossed Mark's face. I slowly backed up as Mark looked over to the counter. He slowly dips his hands in the bag of flower getting a fist full of the white powder.

I quickly backed up giving him a stern look. “Mark don't even think about it”

Mark's smile only got bigger as he moved closer to me. I had now where to go as he backed me up against the counter.

“Mark Everett Sloan I Swear to-” my scolding was cut short as Mark flicked flower all over my face and shirt. I slightly laughed as I wiped my face clean.

“now what were you gonna do?” he smirked. My eyes fell to the bag of flower and I quickly went for it. Mark chuckled and quickly grabbed it before I could grab it.

I quickly graped it out of his hands and flung flower at him covering his black shirt. Soon the both of us were covered in flower and sprinkles.

He went to chace after me and he did successfully but he didn't realize a gaved an egg as he lifted me off the ground. As I went in the air I cracked in his light brown hair.

He let out a monatone scream and put me down. I laughed as I tried to make a run for it. Mark cought up and backs me up and trapped my body between his body and the fridge. I put my hands in surrender only for Mark to grabe them and hold them out of the way.

“Okay I surrender! I give up! You win” I giggled. “please no more just let me go”

He chuckled and let go of my wrists then placed his hands on the the fridge on both sides of my body caging me in.

“what do I get out of it?” he smirked.

I smiled and placed my hands on his muscular chest. “how about a kiss and we'll call it even?”

He didn't have to be asked twice. He roughly pressed his lips to mine kissing me passionately. I wrapped arms around his neck closing the gap.

As he was distracted by the kiss I moved my hand to the corner grabbing what was left of the flower. I felt His lips about travail down my neck but he stopped when I slapped a hand full of flower in his brown hair.

He backed away with annoyed look but also had a smirk spread across his face. “now your really gonna get it” I quickly slithered around him and started to run towards the living room but Mark grabbed my arm and pulled me back. I bumpped into his chest and he picked me up pulling me away from anything else I could cover him with.

Just then Derek walked in with Meredith, Zola, and Amilea. We both stopped suddenly at the sight of my family. I blushed as Derek eyes went wide at the mess while Amilea and Meredith tried to hold back there laughter.

“I looks like the pillsbury Doughboy coded in here” Amilea said grabbing a cookie shaped like a raindeer and gave half of it to Zola.

“so... How's the baking going?” Merdith asked with a sly smile. I pushed Mark away and wiped my hands off on the back of Mark's shirt.

“it's going” I said. Derek continued to look around his kitchen and sighed. “What the hell did you guys do?”

“baked...?” Mark said with a hint of half-assed guilt. Derek rolled his eyes and turned to me.

“you know your cleaning this up right?” he said using a voice he used to use on me and Amilea.

I scoffed and pointed to my boyfriend. “Mark started it! He trashed the kitchen” Meredith chuckled and went up stairs with Zola as Derek rubbed his face in frustration.

“I don't care who started it, please just clean it up” he said walking towards the living room. “sorry bro!” I shouted as he left.

When my brother was out of sight me and Mark bursted out laughing. As Mark continued to laugh I grabbed a wet towel and threw it at him.

“your helping me clean this up” I told him.

He calmed himself down and started cleaning the counter. “yes ma'am”
