Oak Hill

“Settled on the side of Wright Mountain, Oak Hill is little more than a hamlet you may drive through if you accidentally got off the Interstate too early, but for the people who live there, it’s home. For years, rumors of a secret pack of werewolves have been spread around the area, and many locals are sceptic of the Sims that live there. A suspicious string of deaths over the past 15 years only added to the suspicion of the townspeople. However, if you look past the surface, you will find a town that deeply cares about each other and the future of their little community.”

Oak Hill is by @aondaneedles and is a hood I’ve loved since it was released last summer! I think it’s a perfect little hood for easing back into my return, and I plan to play it through this summer at least! <3

WOW I almost forgot how I edit my screenshots 🥴

So recently in my spare time I’ve been learning Spanish on Duolingo. For those unfamiliar, it’s asking me what my name is and I’m supposed to choose and speak the correct response. The name presented in the answer is always random, so I thought it was pretty amusing that the answer contained my actual name!

Anyhow, just a fun little tidbit. Sims posts will be coming back soon, I promise! 😍

Down the road from Strangetown lies Natosi...

...an industrial town that once flourished, but has now been mostly abandoned leaving only a few stubborn Sims remaining. I made it using ICad's edit of the CuriousB terrain, and while it's not required to use it, some of the terrain paint may look a little odd. There are 8 households to start with, all unrelated because there are so few, 10 community lots, 17 empty houses, 3 empty lots, and 2 apartment lots. I made every lot myself except for 2 of the unoccupied lots [24 and 25 Dune Avenue, taken from Veronaville and RBH), and one of the apartment lots (a bin lot)]. I even made a storytelling album so make sure to look at that! Every sim is an original creation, other than the appearance of Malcolm Landgraab IV, so if you want to add Bluewater Village, you'll have to remove one of them. My Malcolm is a genetically correct version (after fixing his parents up) but I didn't include his ancestors because I'm lazy. Because he's a GC version, there's nothing else the same between Natosi's Malcolm and Bluewater Village's Malcolm, so you could rename one of them instead of deleting one.

The hood is meant to feel like a Maxis hood with fewer households and more open ended stories. I personally don't always want to play sims with almost predetermined destinies and often feel like I have to play sims in a specific way or else I'm "doing it wrong." So I made Natosi, which was created in an attempt to merely guide you with each sim's story, not force your hand down one particular path.

CC-Free Witch Hut

I guess I’m in a mood to play witches currently, and what’s a witch without a little ramshackle hut in the spooky forest!?

It’s very small (obviously), so there’s only really room for 1 sim… Unless the additional sims don’t require a bed hehe

There’s a garden & a little pond that’s juuuuust big enough for fishing. Since little witch huts in the forest aren’t known for their modern amenities, the bathroom is an outhouse with a shower on the backside.

It does NOT come with the cauldron or spellbook podium, cause if you actually do move a witch into here they have their own. The pictures are mostly to show that I did leave a spot for each object to be placed & functional in the tiny hut.

I think the worst part about coming back to playing after a very long break is trying to find any cool new must-have mods & neighborhoods that may have been released while I was gone.

That and I feel the need to do a cc purge again.

Now that Giovanni has topped his career, although he won’t be retiring any time soon, he still will have a lot more free time to focus on his hobbies.

So, I gave him an ant farm for him to play with. XD

Shockingly, Fabio gets promoted after his very first shift at work!

Emilia’s Melodies’s first day is very successful. It reaches rank 1, and with the help of the business perk small money grant, Emilia profits around 5 grand!

Emilia has a gold sales talent badge, and I don’t want that to go to waste. She’ll never be able to fulfill her LTW of Owning 5 Top-Level Businesses, but with the help of Giovanni’s grant money, I figure her owning one can’t hurt.

She opens a small store that sells musical instruments, and her sister-in-law Ginevra Olovaid is her first customer!

Maybe Jolanda’s brush with pneumonia gave her a new outlook on life, because she suddenly wants to follow her dreams by looking for a job in the Culinary career.

Orrrr maybe it’s because I can’t resist fulfilling my sims’ lifetime wants. Your call.

Lady’s night study session: Jolanda studies Fire Safety, Pia does her homework, and Kaeileen studies Lifelong Happiness.

Osbert Yoxall (Kaeileen’s father) and Kamalani Bellamy (Omar’s ex) are also seen canoodling at the park. >_>

Luckily Omar wasn’t there too, or he’d be devastated. :(

Or maybe his woohoo with Oriana Fontana changed his tune? We won’t know until we get to his round later on!

Emilia and Giovanni celebrate Giovanni’s milestone though by going on a date to the park. <3
