Wind Training (Redeemed!Morro & Lloyd)
(This is not Greenwind. They are literally cousins)
(Lloyd is around 19 while Morro was brought back at the age of 21)
(Also includes some wholesome bonding between cousins, especially at the end, so there will be at least three sections to this.)
Warning: A few curse words, that's all
-----------
Lloyd entered the training area outside, seeing that Morro was waiting for him. His cousin was wearing more comfortable and flexible clothing, most of his longer hair tied back.
Morro turned to see Lloyd and smiled, still having the fangs from when he was a ghost."there you are Lloyd, are you ready for your wind training?" He asked the blonde.
Lloyd was quiet for a moment before speaking."well, yes but.....are you sure this is a good idea? I've never even actually used it before. And... I don't want them to think I was turning into you from the past" Lloyd said, referring to, well, when he got possessed all that time ago. This was also why he obviously didn't trust Morro easily at first
Morro's expression softened, walking over and gently ruffling Lloyd's blonde hair."don't worry, you'll be okay. After all, since I learned to actually use my element for good, I have full belief that you can too" his smile widened again, and Lloyd gave a small smile of his own.
"Alright, then I'm ready" The green Ninja said with more confidence this time. Morro lead Lloyd over to a small area with a small pile of leaves.
"Okay, first lesson is easy. Just use the wind to lift the leaves and make them circle around you. Watch me first" the raven haired boy said before raising his hands slightly. Morro focused on the pile, and a few seconds later, a small breeze came and blew the leaves gently upwards, then made them spin slowly around Morro. The wind elemental had a calm look, which meant that how strong the breeze was, depended on how he was feeling.
Lloyd watched, making sure he didn't miss a single move, after all, Wind was an extremely new element for him. The blonde saw Morro use the breeze to pile up the leaves again after a few minutes. His cousin looked at him again. "now, you try it"
Lloyd looked at the pile, concentrating like Morro did. He had to stay calm, and as he did, the leaves began to rise up from their position. But not as high. Morro looked at Lloyd, who looked to be concentrating...a little too hard.
"Lloyd, don't focus too hard, you're barely lifting the leaves" Morro spoke, his voice not raspy, but more softer and clear. Lloyd opened one eye and sighed, the leaves falling to the ground below him." Sorry... I'm not very good at this. I have too much on my mind" The blonde sat down, bringing his knees to his chest.
Morro knelt down beside Lloyd, tucking some of the blonde hair that also had a green streak back behind his ear, making the other look at the ex-villian. "Lloyd, what did you teach me about self doubt? It'll cloud your mind to the point where you're afraid to try at all. Why don't you take that advice yourself and keep trying? The more you try, the more you'll eventually reach a solution"
Lloyd thought to himself for a moment, his bright green eyes looking at the ground then back at Morro. The blonde didn't say anything but nodded and stood up, while Morro stepped back. Lloyd closed his eyes and raised his hands, making sure his mind was only on the leaves.
About a minute later, a breeze came through the training area and lifted the leaves higher than before, circling around Lloyd now. Morro couldn't help but smile widely, practically beaming with pride for his younger cousin.
Lloyd opened his eyes again, looking surprised then excited by the leaves moving around him." I...I did it! Haha I did it!" He shouted with happiness, turning to face Morro." I can't believe it, I seriously can't believe it" Lloyd waved one of his hands and the breeze stopped, the leaves falling again.
Morro chuckled at this, before looking Lloyd in the eyes."you did. I'm proud of you, Greenie. But you still have much to learn. Are you up for that?" He asked at the end, holding out a hand to the other.
Lloyd grinned and took Morro's hand."If it's you teaching me, then I am!"
------
A week had passed, and this time Morro was teaching Lloyd how to use the wind in order to levitate above the ground.
"Alright, I put down crash pads so you don't get hurt if you accidentally fall" Morro said, gesturing to the large padded mat on the ground. Lloyd nodded and took his shoes off before stepping onto it.
"Okay, I'll go first" Morro closed his eyes and raised hands so they were out to his sides. A more stronger blow of the wind came through, easily lifting any loose leaves, and soon lifting Morro up about two feet into the air, the strength of the wind not wavering.
Lloyd watched in amazement. He had seen Morro use this ability a few times and now the blonde was even more excited to try it, though he still feared possibly falling. But it'll be fine, right? The Mat will catch him.... hopefully.
"now you try it, Lloyd. And don't be upset if it doesn't work the first time. Learning to use wind to levitate and even fly was something that took me a while to learn, especially after gaining a normal body again" Morro spoke, still in the air.
Lloyd inhaled and exhaled, standing up straighter. The only thing he focused on the lifting himself. He wasn't afraid if heights, no, Lloyd himself was a ninja, and the fear of heights was something that he had completely lost after some time.
Trying to keep away any doubts about this, Lloyd raised his arms up a little, both hands loosely open. 'Atleast he isn't forcing himself to focus this time..' Morro thought to himself as he watch the other.
Lloyd relaxed more as the same stronger wind began to manifest around himself, slowly lifting him off the mat. He did best to not focus on his feet as he felt himself rise up, opening his eyes after about a minute. Lloyd looked down, but didn't show fear, something that he didn't expect too not even feel either. Instead of fear, the green Ninja felt....
Free. In control..of himself.
Lloyd looked up to see Morro, who was also in the air, smiling proudly at the blonde once more. Morro couldn't help it, he was so proud of how Lloyd progressed through all the training. In fact, Morro was... happy, content with the fact that Lloyd trusted him enough to let Morro teach him.
Morro was brought out of his thoughts by Lloyd's voice speaking." Momo, what's got you so smiley all of a sudden?" The blonde said with a joking tone, saying the nickname for Morro that only Lloyd alone could use. No one else.
Morro chuckled a bit before replying." Me being proud of you. Of how far you've gotten in all this." He said with a smile, lowering himself and landing on his feet.
Lloyd also landed on the ground, taking a second to regain his balance before walking over to Morro."Well, what can I say? I have you as the one teaching me all this stuff. You've also come quite far in being a good teacher, and maybe even a Sensei one day" Lloyd grinned, showing his own fangs as he crossed his arms.
"A Sensei? Pfft, nah, I think I'll be content with being a Ninja. You can take that Sensei role, shortie " Morro laughed when he immediately got elbowed in the shoulder by the younger male.
"I'm not that short, you Emo" Lloyd teased a back, laughing a bit too.
The two cousins continued the training for a bit after, happy to be spending time together.
-----------
A few nights later, Morro was sitting outside on the roof of the monastery, deep in thought while looking at the stars.
He thought about.. well, everything. Possessing Lloyd, trying to steal the realm crystal, everything that he thought would make him not even a bit of a candidate for a second chance. But at the same time ....
Morro sighed and lay back against the roof. He knew everyone was hesitant to trust after everything. Well, except for one person: Wu, his old Sensei.
The person who Morro had chosen to help when Cole was tricked by Sensei Yang into opening the rift, and Morro offered help with getting Cole back, to which Wu thanked him for.
The ex-ghost smiled to himself at the memory. He remembered how thankful everyone was, especially Lloyd, even though it was a bit hesitant at the time.
Speaking of Lloyd, Morro didn't notice the blonde climbing up to the roof to find the wind elemental, who had forgotten to close the window in his room, a sure sign that Morro was outside. Lloyd stepped closer and crouched down."Hey Momo" The one in green spoke, the breaking of the silence that caused Morro to literally jump away, but calmed down after seeing that it was his cousin.
"Lloyd! Don't do that! You scared the shit outta me!" Morro whisper yelled, clutching his chest with one hand. Lloyd let out a light laugh and sat down, motioning for the other to come back over "Sorry, Sorry. I thought you saw me approaching" he said with a more cheeky smile.
Morro huffed and moved to go sit beside Lloyd. He looked the the green streaked blonde." Why are you out here anyways? I thought everyone was asleep" he pulled his legs to close and rested his pale skinned face against his knees.
"Well I woke up to use the bathroom and since you sleep with your door open, I saw that your window was opened" Lloyd said, turning his own tanned face to look at the person beside him.
Morro groaned in defeat."Damn it, I thought I closed it after I went out" he said with a pout, making the other laugh a bit again." Oh shut it Green Bean" Morro playfully nudged Lloyd, giving a chuckle of his own.
Lloyd spoke again."so, why are tou on the roof anyways? Got too much on your mind?" The blonde guessed, but sensed that was the most possible answer, as it was basically proven rightby Morro nodding his head.
Morro raised his hands, tying back his own hair, except for his bangs which were left out. He sat up a bit before speaking again." It's just... I did all those things to you guys, but here I am, living with you and gaining your trust. I...I-I don't know how to feel about it. You all gave me a second chance, but why do I still feel like I never deserved it?.." Morro lay down again, tears starting to build up in his dark grey, almost black eyes.
Lloyd's expression completely softened, and gently held his relative's hand." Morro...look at me..." The energy elemental spoke softly, his heart nearly hurting from how distraught the long haired boy looked. Morro looked at Lloyd, his grip on the other's hand becoming a bit shaky.
"Morro....I know you don't forgive yourself for everything you did, all because your jealousy completely consumed you. But you remember what you did even after your defeat, right? You weren't under the control of The Preeminent, you chose to help us save Cole, even though you had every reason not to because, after all, we were the ones who had defeated the ghost army.." Lloyd tucked the lock of green streaked black hair behind Morro's ear, just like the other had done to him before.
"You are making up for your mistakes, whether you aware of it or not. I trust you now, Morro. My trust to you IS the second chance I gave you. All of the started because you found out being the Green Ninja wasn't part of your destiny... Trust me, Kai knows how that felt when it happened to him too" Lloyd softly smiled at Morro." If anything...you deserve the chance to fix your mistakes"
Morro didn't know what to say. Lloyd, who was previously his enemy, the object of his jealousy, was now his friend, and telling Morro that a second chance is what he indeed deserved. Tears welled up in Morro's eyes again as he sat up, looking at Lloyd before pulling the other into a bit of a tight hug.
Lloyd meanwhile was a bit surprised by the sudden hug, but he returned the embraced, feeling Morro sob into the fabric of his hoodie.
Not out of sadness, but out of relief. Gratitude, even
"Th-Thank you..." Morro said, his voice cracking a bit due to his crying, which he tried to at least keep down so it didn't wake everyone else. Lloyd smiled and rubbed the other's back, resting his own head on the taller's shoulder."Anytime, Momo"
The two stayed like this for a while. Mostly quiet, but relaxing in the care they now had for each other, something Morro only ever felt from Wu, and something Lloyd felt after joining the Ninja.
After some time, the two went back inside the monastery through Morro's window, which Lloyd shut after both he and Morro were in the room. "Y'know, if my dad happened to be staying at the monastery tonight, we would've been caught and scolded" the blonde half joked, prompting Morro to playfully scoff.
"You mean Sensei Emo?" The other joked back, crossing his arms with a grin while sitting on the bed. Lloyd let out a snirk, holding in his laughter."so THAT'S what you called him? Why should I be surprised" he giggled quietly, sitting beside his older cousin.
"Of course, though he only pretended to be annoyed by it. But I could see that Garmadon also found it a bit funny too, even if Wu didn't " Morro said, leaning against the wall.
The two continued to talk, basically glad they could finally get along.
Everything was better than before.

Oh yeah no im definitely not done talking about Lloyd and Zane's dynamic in my elemental roulette au. Heres some more brainrot for the road
The basic gist of this au is that instead of fire, earth, ice, and lightning, the elements of creation are fire, earth, water, and air. So now the starting ninja lineup consists of Kai, Cole, Nya, and Morro. Of course, Jay and Zane do eventually join the team as well, and they are still elemental masters, but their trajectories are a teensy bit different. For instance, Jay starts out as Samurai X
In the original canon, Wu recruited Zane while in the process of tracking down masters of the core elements of creation. But in this au, ice isnt an element of creation, which means Wu has no reason to seek him out. This means Zane stays homeless, which means he and Lloyd end up homeless at the same time
So yeah Zane and Lloyd cross paths and bond over their shared circumstance, then decide to stick together
Zane has amnesia, he doesnt know who he is or where he came from and ultimately doesnt have much direction in life, but finally finds a sense of purpose in looking after Lloyd. So he decides to kinda just follow around this weird feral child he found
Lloyd tries to maintain a strictly professional villain-henchman relationship at first, but quickly grows very fond of his new buddy and a strange connection fosters between them
So now youve got Lloyd, a chaotic 10-year-old who is determined to steal candy, take over the world, and be a general punk/emo nuisance...and then theres his supposed henchman, a chronically confused amnesiac robot who bakes cookies in his spare time
Lloyd is his usual edgy, black-cape-wearing self whose main objective is to steal candy, and Zane is...well, hes confused, but hes got the spirit
"Yes, Lloyd, of course you can steal candy, but make sure to steal some vegetables too! Youre a growing boy, after all :)"
In this au, Zane doesnt remember his real name (for a number of reasons i wont bother you with). So Lloyd naturally takes it upon himself to give him one. It ends up being a kind of Jason Funderberker situation, where Lloyd comes up with new names for Zane pretty much on a daily basis, but all the names have the vibe of a 10-year-old boy naming his first hamster. So the ninja are like, "hey wait a minute, i thought your henchman's name was Carl???" And Lloyd just goes, "uh yeah, but that was *yesterday*. Today his name is Burgermeister 3000. Times change. Keep up, losers."
Jay: dont you hate having this kid call you a different horrible name every single day?
Zane: i didnt used to have any name at all. Now i have 50. This is an improvement
Id like to think Lloyd gets very disappointed when he discovers that his friend's name is Zane of all things. He thinks its a dumb name, and only begrudgingly uses it bc he knows how important this is to Zane
The falcon still leads them to the Bounty, but at this point only Lloyd and Zane are living there so now theyve got a super cool Evil LairTM. Also the falcon lives with them as their funky robot pet, and its all rather wholesome in a bizarre, unhinged sort of way
There are a lot of possibilities for how and why Lloyd releases the Serpentine in this au, and I havent made any conclusive decisions yet, but one of my favorites is this:
Zane: what the one thing i told you not to do while i was out running errands? Lloyd: release the serpentine
Zane: and what did you do??
Lloyd: ...release the serpentine...
I wont go into a lot of detail about the Serpentine and whatnot since a lot of it is still undecided, but for now i just really like the concept of kid!Lloyd and Zane getting up to shenanigans. Also, while we're here - when Lloyd confronts the Ice Emperor in ns11, he tries to snap him out of the Scroll's control by reminding him of all the adventures they shared together back when it was just the two of them. Someone hold me while i weep

Okay, I'm a silly Billy and I LOVE the Excnaged Fate AU atm so now I GOTTA ask quite a few questions (feel free 2 take yr time answering!!!!)
What's up w the SoG in this AU? Are they a thing? Do they still worship Garmadon because HE destroyed the Devourer? Do they plan to like, use the Oni Masks to bring his Oni side out of him?
Does Garmadon get baby-ified in s8? Does he reunite with Ray in s7?
Do the ninja still go to the First Realm?
How does Garmaon react to Morro?
LET’S GO!! THIS IS A FUN ONE! TY SM RAINE!!!
This is a long one soooo answers under the cut!
1. What’s up with the SoG in this AU? Are they a thing? Do they still worthship Garmadon because HE destroyed the Devourer? Do they plan to like, use the Oni Masks to bring his Oni side out of him?
Ding ding ding! I can answer every part of that question with a yes!
At the beginning of season 8, The SoG attack Garmadon in an attempt to capture him. They fail, terribly. As a result of this the ninja team and Garmadon are extra alert of the SoG.
I imagine the team probably tries to protect Garmadon through the season, since they've figured he’s targeted. This is despite the fact that he’s like, one of the most powerful people in Ninjago atm. I just find it a wholesome way for the team to show off that they care about him, plus it potentially makes for some hilarity considering they’re trying to protect the son of the creator of Ninjago, someone with heritage from both creation and destruction, a man who was a warlord in the past and has actually killed a god before.
With all that said the SoG…
Tumblr media
Do eventually get him.
2. Does Garmadon get baby-ified in s8? Does he reunite with Ray in s7?
Garmadon actually does not get baby-ified, so I’m glad you asked! I don’t imagine Garmadon treading many of Wu’s steps in s7 because, while Garmadon fills Wu’s role as master to the ninjas, they’re not the same characters. One of the things that is changed because of that, is that no master is lost in time in s7.
With that, yeah, Garmadon reunites with Ray and Maya in s7!
Also, baby Wu is in s8. Yeah, that’s how we bring him back. I couldn’t keep him dead forever, I’m too much of a softy for that. I may be a Garmadon fan first, but I'm a Spinjitzu Brothers fan second.
3. Do the ninja still go to the First Realm?
Yeah! And they got one extra!
Tumblr media
Lloyd is in shambles.
4. How does Garmadon react to Morro?
Terribly, as one may expect. Season 5 is really not Garmadon's season when it comes to having a nice time.
Garmadon is powerless to save his son. He can't fight Morro, because then he'd be harming his son; but every second he does nothing, Lloyd is suffering. It's a perfect concoction of torture for him. One I intend to exploit thoroughly.

Standing in your doorway like 🧍🏻 to ask abt your ex dream chaser Ronin AU
What do u think made him stop dream chasing?
hehehhehehe
(this post ended up way longer than expected, everything should be beneath the read more!!)
Okay so!! This requires a bit of backstory to answer, but to give a basic explanation:
In this au, Ronin used to be named Storm before The IncidentTM (which I will elaborate on later in the post) because he was the first Elemental Master of Wind. He was born around the same time as Garmadon and Wu were, and since the First Spinjitzu master couldn't wrangle the element of Wind, it ended up with him.
He ended up meeting Wu and Garmadon shortly after Aspheera's imprisonment. (I headcanon the Aspheera events to be many thousands of years in the past; not because of the difference in civilizational style for the serpentine, but because the kind of evolution required for these ancient Hypnobrai to look so different from modern Hypnobrai had to have taken a long, long time) They became friends and started to hang out more and more.
One day, however, Wu and Garmadon, in their dream, get kidnapped by the Nightmare King. This causes Storm to realize that the Dream World is a real realm of existence. He saves Wu and Garmadon and discovers that he's a Dreamcrafter.
Eventually, through some kind of events, he, Wu, and Garmadon all become Dreamchasers who have their own hourglasses. They're basically the first to do so, making Storm the very first Dreamchaser to ever exist.
Storm's Dreamchaser form is that of a Samurai.
Wu's Dreamchaser form is that of a dragon rider.
Garmadon's Dreamchaser form is that of a king.
He creates the Time Relic that Zoey ends up finding in the future and it becomes useful to him and the other two in battle.
Eventually, though, as they get older, Wu and Garmadon stop dreamchasing so they can focus on the wellbeing of Ninjago. This occurs around the time that Garmadon is 17, Wu is 16, and Storm is 17. Storm remains a Dreamchaser for many years afterwards.
Eventually, when he turns 20, he decides to make a decision.
He asks Wu and Garmadon to seal him in a tomb where we will stay asleep for however long it takes to defeat the Nightmare King. He will use his Time Relic to keep himself alive and young for however long it takes for him to be released from the Dream World. The only way to do so is to use a codeword only he knows- that way, either Wu or Garmadon can visit him in a dream and gain the code only after the Nightmare King has been defeated. This was meant to ensure that he wouldn't be released too early.
This ends up going wrong, though.
A few thousand years after he's put into his long sleep, he meets Lunia. She defeats the Nightmare King with his help and he goes to meet Wu and Garmadon in their nightly visit so he can wake up and live out the rest of his life in peace.
They don't show up.
What he doesn't know is that something that happened when the Nightmare King was defeated caused the portal between Ninjago and the Dream World to close, thus causing Wu and Garmadon to be unable to meet him no matter what they do.
From Storm's perspective, he has been abandoned by his friends.
He spends thousands of years trapped in the Dream World, slowly forgetting his name and only knowing of himself as the Dream Samurai.
He continues to patrol around the Dream World to make sure the Nightmare King hasn't returned, yet he himself slowly goes a little bit mad.
When the Night Hunter attempts to release the Nightmare King, he cannot stop him. It has been too long since he has faced a true enemy.
An arrow pierces his shoulder and his attempts to use his Time Relic fail. Both he, along with his Dreamcrafted creations, are scattered through time.
He wakes up and gouges the arrow out of his shoulder, removing his arm in the process.
When he looks up, he sees a person with black hair that has a green streak.
His great grandnephew.
He and Morro introduce each other, and when he's asked his name, he can only realize he doesn't remember it.
He's a Samurai without a master isn't he? Wouldn't that make him a Ronin?
From that day onward, he goes by Ronin. He vows to never be a Dreamchaser again. He's sick of being the hero.
Against his will, he's pulled into the world of crime. He remains angry at Garmadon and Wu for a long time until he realizes it wasn't their fault.
He doesn't forgive them easily, though.
Since his Dreamchaser outfit followed him to Ninjago, it steadily deteriorates until he has to replace many of its pieces. Eventually, his outfit becomes the one he's known for.
He keeps his hourglass. He can't bear to get rid of it or sell it. It's mostly for the sentimental value.
One day, though, he goes to sleep and wakes up in the Dream World.
The portal has reopened.

A Tale of the Wind (Intro, A Tale of Water) - A Ninjago History
Thanks to @fantaghoul for letting me use their post to fill out my own Morro Headcanon
Disclaimer: I have not watched Dragons Rising - however, I have hear that it tends to retcon lore from the OG show as such I will be sticking to the original lore and expanding on that. Also, there will be a slight retcon of a detail concerning The First Master's control over water and wind and his creating of the Ninjago Realm. I'll make a separate post about my retcons at another time for now I just wanted to finally get this work out there. Now, without further ado.
~~~~~~~
Ninjago.
That's what he would call it and this would be where he would primarily reside. It had been so long since he had returned to the Realm he had created and the world beneath the waves was thriving; but, they had forgotten him.
In his time away - creating other Realms, defending the First Realm to keep all the others from falling into ruin - the seven tribes of Merlopia (two of which were Serpentine) had forgotten him. He knew that some part of them knew him, some part deep within but on the surface, his creations did not recall him.
The First Master understood that this was impart due to Wojira, the Grand Guardian he had left to watch over his work, but like the Grand Guardian of the First Realm, who now called himself, The Overlord, this Guardian as well had turned against him.
And yet, he could see it in how her eyes would flicker between red and blue, in those moments he saw remorse. Wojira was a good Guardian, but she had made mistakes and now it was beyond her power to stop herself.
The Merlopians fought bravely and with him there they fought twice as hard. The First Master, however, did not wish to see Wojira killed so he called together his Protectors - Fire, Metal, Wind and finally Water, Water who was the first to be given mortal form.
Water love the world beneath the waves and it had been the proof of this love that convinced the First Master to give her mortal form. She was called Nyad, Nyad of Merlopia, Nyad who would be the first Master of Water. Above and below the waves Nyad fought to protect her husband, her daughter and the people she had been made a part of; then appeared, the Master of Ice, still immortal, and without speaking a word Nyad knew.
There were many options and Nyad knew that the First Master would never ask something so desperate of her, she knew that he would exhaust every option and still never ask for her sacrifice and that was why she made the choice herself.
Working with the First Master, working with her fellow Protectors, Metal, Fire, and Wind, the five of them were able to construct two amulets, one of Wind (the Storm) and one of Water (the Flood). These would be able to tame Wojira and perhaps one day the former Guardian would be able to return to her post but for now sleep was more favorable then death.
Nyad, to ensure their success, became one with the great ocean of Ninjago and soon the battle came to an end. The Merlopians constructed a great temple far and deep beneath the waves to honor Nyad's sacrifice and to house the sleeping Wojira. As for the daughter of Nyad, her mother, mind lost to the sea would observe her naming ceremony from a distance, unaware of her connection to the baby girl who would one day make water dance.
The baby girl would be named Nya, a naming tradition that would be passed down for generations to come.
On the surface, though the Realm was his creation, the First Master asked if the Merlopians would be willing to share the Realm with another. The king of Merlopia gave his terms and there was agreement. The war had tired them and all they desired was peace in isolation so the First Master created the land of Ninjago a fair distance away, a distance that would satisfy the agreement.
One day the Merlopians would remember who created their Realm.
~
The First Master found Wind, Fire and Ice at the edge of the newly created land, the three Protectors contemplating the sea.
"Thoughts in isolation tend to double back on themselves" said the First Master in greeting.
The three turned to the First Master and bowed, greeting their master.
"Rise and please speak clearly what is among you that I may be of aid."
The three Protectors looked between themselves, then Fire spoke, "Master, you gave us life and great purpose and even among the Protectors, you gave us three another gift each for use when the time is right. You gave me quick foresight that I may be a guiding light in dire circumstances."
"You gave me far sight," said Ice, "and with this I was able to see the end of this battle before you called Nyad for the creation of the amulets."
"And you gave me", said Wind, "the gift to effect destiny and yet as I am there is only so much I am able to do. Master, you said that all of us, each one of your Protectors would one day take on mortal form and in doing so we would be able to do things that we cannot yet do as we are. Nyad has returned to her element and her power will one day awaken in her daughter. Wojira is sleeping and I ... I wish to stay apart of Destiny's Trio, I wish to remain where the wind meets the water. But, now I feel what Nyad felt when she asked to become mortal and though I wish to stay I feel a pulling calling me. Master, you who command every element, I ask of you, make me mortal that I may fulfill my destiny."
And the First Master smile a gentle smile one that had the slightest touch of sorrow. He gave his creations freewill, all his creations in every realm and for every generation; but freewill ment that one had the ability to choose good and the ability to choose evil. Destiny's Trio never kept things from each other and so the First Master knew that Wind made his request in full knowledge of blessings and tragedies that could one day be.
"It will be done" said the First Master.
As they were, the Elemental Protectors could travel between Realms without any aide and so they followed the First Master to what would one day be called the Wailing Alps, the tallest mountain in Ninjago that would one day house the Temple of Wind. From the mountain the First Master and his Protectors entered the Realm of the Cloud Kingdom and there they were met by the Master Writer, a man who had been a scribe when the First had left the Realm, who now rejoiced in having lived long enough to see the First Master's return and welcomed him and his Protectors, knowing why they were there.
The Master Writer was honored to have been remembered and further honored by the First Master by the task he would be given - to care for and teach Wind in just the same way the King of Merlopia had been tasked to do for Water when she became Nyad. And so with great power, Wind was given mortal form, like Nyad had been made merlopian, Wind became a being of The Cloud Kingdom clothed in the robes of a scribe.
"Now," the First Master said, "what is your name?"
Wind thought in silence as all waited with baited breaths, then, he spoke.
"My name, ... is Morro."
This would be a name passed down for generations to come.
~
Freewill. The freedom of choice, the choice to be good but also the choice to be bad.
It would be several thousand year after the first Master of Wind was laid to rest that someone would enact a change, the tragedy the First Master hoped would never come to fruition. Fenwick could hardly be called a scribe when he first came upon the thought as he contemplated how others rejoice in the return of the Master of Wind from his mission in Ninjago. Every Master of Wind, since the first would be trained to the level of a Master Writer, then sent down to Ninjago when the need was at its most, to lessen pain, to alter tragedy, to defy what the scribes of the Cloud Kingdom had written. Fenwick despise the thought that his people rejoiced that someone would overruled their writings, the words of the Cloud Kingdom were absolute but the Master of Wind could always find ways to change the winds of fate. Unfortunately, Fenwick was not alone in his arrogance but he would be the catalyst for a horrific age in the Cloud Kingdom.
In time Fenwick grew his skill, in time he climb the ranks, in time he gathered his hidden forces and then they struck. The Master of Wind was found dead. It was an accident many concluded but generations would pass and as numbers dwindled people became wary of the Family of the Wind, something was after them and no-one wanted to be caught in the crosshairs, yet soon even the Family of the Wind feared stepping out their own door but better to be seen then be found dead in the dark. Time passed on and the Master of Wind had become long forgotten in Ninjago, often times the Family of the Wind contemplated escaping to Ninjago but something always stopped them from leaving just yet.
~
Her name was Morria. She lost her father as a baby, her older cousins when she was five, her friend when she was twelve and her mother when she was seventeen. She was twenty-three, the last of her family when she met the man who would be her husband, he was an orphan and his name was Arnon, two years later they would be married, two years after that they would have their son, a small child who, by Arnon's dying wish, would be named Morro.
Morro had a remarkable memory and each day as Morria would braid Morro's hair, to hide the natural streak of green that marked him as member of the Family of the Wind, she would teach him all she knew about the Cloud Kingdom, about their work as a scribe, and about their family history but there was only so much she could teach him. It had become to dangerous to live in the family home of the Family of the Wind, Arnon, while he had lived, had worked hard to find them a home where they could be safe; Arnon's death had been a sacrifice to keep Morro and Morria safe.
Once Morro's silky black hair had been given braids to hide the green, Morria would teach Morro how to manage the task himself by teaching him how to hide the green in her hair. This was how they kept each other safe, Morria would not let Arnon's sacrifice be in vain, she needed to learn as much as she could then she could teach Morro herself after the two of them escaped to Ninjago. Morria kept close her and Morro scrolls of life, as Arnon's had already been laid at his tomb, after all, you cannot write a life scroll for the dead. As to Morria's scroll, her parents and potential guardians were nolonger around to write in it and she feared what would happen should she open it herself, but, Morro's scroll was written in with the care, respect and wisdom of a true Master Writer.
There was peace, a balance and that of course was when tragedy struck again. Morria had been contemplating how she would retrieve Arnon's scroll, a scroll that she had full rights to but hadn't claimed for fear of being caught; Morria wanted to bring it with her when she and Morro escaped to Ninjago but as it was, it was not ment to be.
It was night when Morria bundle up Morro that he wouldn't be recognized; in her bag was her and Morro's scrolls along with some quills and ink, a change of clothes, some rations and the only three books her family had been able to keep from their old home - it was time to go to Ninjago. Into the night they went but half way through the city, Morria knew something was wrong, though her hood was up to obscure her face, she could tell that the shadows had eyes and they watched her like starving wolves. Morria slowed her steps and quickened her turns, she could feel the wind in her heart begging to be used but she would not reveal herself so quickly, she could not reveal herself so quickly, Morro was only five and had no power of his own and with his and her scroll so close at hand, Morria, could not take the risk. Part of her begged that that the monsters in the shadows would turn away from her but she knew now what she didn't before, she would not live to see Ninjago.
In her angered fueled sorrows at all the tragedy she had been forced to bear, at knowing her son would be an orphan, the wind began to roar, to unleash the full extent of the sorrows of the Family of the Wind, and in the wind, Morria, could hear her family as they fought back. Taking advantage of the chaos, Morria used the shadows like the Ninja her ancestors were trained to be and made her way to a small orphanage.
"Morro," Morria said as she placed him on the steps and handed him his change of clothes and part of the rations from her bag, "I have to go, but I need you to promise me to remember everything and do everything I had taught you. Do you understand?"
"You're not coming back," Morro asked.
It was a cruel thing that a child so young had to be prepared incase they became an orphan but Morria hadn't shielded Morro from the possibility.
"I'm sorry", it was all she could say, and, "I love you Morro."
With one last hug as they held each other tight, Morria hear her son whisper, "I love you, momma". She let him go, knock on the door of the orphanage, and Morria dissappeared into the windy night.
~
There was a part of Morria that had wished she had taken the chance to escape with Morro but she could hear on the wind that the possibility of escape had ended the moment she had been spotted; for Morria, there was only one thing left to do, the monsters in the dark had been hunting her a long time but the moment she died none but her family would be able to open her scroll, she knew this, but as to her son's scroll, she would hide it that none could harm him with it. Her task completed, Morria faced her attackers far away from Morro's scroll and as she took her last breath, the wind combed through Morro's hair like a mother guiding her son to sleep.
~
The first Morro had heard of his mother the next morning had been a grim cold voice that had concluded that her death had to have been destiny. It would be many years later when the nights would nolonger be filled with Morro's silent tears, as it was, it was four months after he had become an orphan, that the monsters had found him. He could not see their faces; they kept their voices gravelly, their grip one his arms was tight to bruising and their nails sunk deep into his skin. Morro had always been a careful child, he had to be, but somehow, someone had seen him playing with the wind.
Morro, though frightened, struggled fiercely in their grasp. The whole group was near the outskirts of the Cloud Kingdom as many did not know that the dead woman with green in her hair had been a mother, as such, they who had killed her and caught her son wanted the matter to be over and done with. Still, Morro struggled and slowly the wind began to kick up, he had to live, for his ancestors, for his father Arnon, and for his mother.
"My apologies child," said a grim cold voice that didn't sound sorry at all, "it's just destiny."
Then, just as death was about greet him, the wind gave one last push and Morro was falling. On the wind he could hear the grim cold voice speak, "thrown out, ah, it's just as well, the fall will take care of him itself."
Perhaps one could say that Morro was halfway to his True Potential but he gathered what control he had of the wind and ruffly costed down the Wailing Alps, past the abandoned Temple of the Wind all the way to the bottom of the mountain, landing with a tumbling head over heels crash. There he sat in shock and soon began to cry and the wind cried with him. The night came and then the day and with no more tears to be had, Morro begain to follow the wind. It would be seven months before he'd find rest at the Monastery of Spinjitzu.
So……… citrus child Arin?! Explain. Elaborate. Enlighten me.
You know that new lil' dude from the United trailer?
Tumblr media
This is Arin, rumored to be the possible new Master of Wind.
But in the HJ AU, Wind and Water ARE Elements of Creation. And in the case of their last living chosen dying before passing on to their kids/protégé, the Elements will legit conjure a new chosen out of nowhere.
For Wu, this was how he gained Morro. Wind didn't have a living chosen, and seeing as Wu was looking to raise his own child, Wind whipped a baby into existence and left them on Wu's doorstep.
So come to post-Possession's alternate ending. Morro accepted his father's help and joined the team as a spirit, went through the Rift with Cole, and finished his redemption as a human.
Echo joined in S2 as Dr. Julien couldn't leave his oldest (yes, Oldest) son. Echo helped Morro in his redemption, and the two gained a admiration for each other, and eventually fell in love.
But the issue of children arose, Morro and Echo saw all the little terrors running around the Monastery and began wanting their own. But Morro being a Man, and Echo a Nindroid, neither could conceive. They thought about going the Zeke route and building their own child-
But Wind intervened, pulling Morro around until he conceded and followed it. He kept going until until he got dragged to the Ninjago City Urbans, and was met with Arin.
Arin lost his mom and had no dad to take him in, so he was put into the Ninjago childcare system. When he was met with Morro and a tug from the Wind, it's discovered soon after that during Morro's ghostly return- Wind was searching for a new living person to pass its power onto.
So Wind found a new Chosen, Morro got his successor, and him and Echo adopted Arin as their son.
Okay, so I read your au idea with the role swap thingy and for some reason I got reminded very suddenly of a fanfic I read from like 2016 where the main four where supposedly going to be Shade, Griffin, Neuro and Karlof (although this was back when it was just Shadow). And I don’t know, that just unlocked a memory of it.
Anyway, about your au. Will you tell me about it? Please?
claps hands Alright, children. Gather round, please get yourself comfortable and make sure you've grabbed yourself a snack. We're gonna be here for a little bit.
(BTW there will be no rhyme or reason to what I say. Ya gurl is gonna ramble.)
So in this AU, Chen is the only son of the FSM. The FSM created Ninjago using the powers of Creation and Destruction, which Chen now is a master of, is teaching to his two young pupils, Clouse and Garmadon. The plot at this point is kinda the same: Clouse attempts to steal the Golden Weapons (which are different in this AU) and gets banished to the Underworld, yadda, yadda, yadda. Garmadon eventually succumbs to the pressure of being the pupil of the literal son of God, and guilt over leaving behind his younger brother Wu to study at the monastery on Chen's private island. Wu has been left in the care of Ray and Maya, whom Garmadon works part-time for as an apprentice. Eventually, Garmadon runs away after he and Chen get into a really heated fight revolving around Clouse's disappearance and the pressure Chen has since put on Garmadon to succeed to make up for failing Clouse. He and Wu become close with Ray and Maya and raise their twin children Kai and Nya after their deaths.
Chen eventually gets married to Skylor's mother, the Master of Water, (I've named her Lorena) and they eventually have Skylor. Lorena passes away after complications giving birth to their son and Chen ends up in a dark place for a bit but pulls himself together to raise Skylor. Chen is surprisingly human in this AU? He grapples a lot with the concept of perfection and trying to find his footing as a teacher but his past seriously haunts him. He's already failed two students and almost his daughter, but for the the sake of Ninjago and making his father proud, he's going to try again. He's not a perfect person, and his flaws are beyond obvious, but he does his best.
Skylor is a mixture of Misako and Nya's roles. There is no Samurai X because Skylor is treated as an equal from the start (and sexism as a plotline is so mid-2000s) but she's also a total history buff and becomes the exposition fountain Misako kinda was. The only thing is that she doesn't have a corresponding Golden Weapon and but Water in the show is pretty OP anyways so she's got that going for her.
Karlof is probably the closest to his show counterpart, probably because he has the least angstiest backstory. He's a mechanical engineer and the son of the Master of Earth who wields the Gauntlets of Earth as his weapon. He's basically the dad friend and everyone's big brother.
Griffin is the grandson of the Master of Lightning and wields the Whip of Lightning. He's annoyingly flirty and a track star prodigy who starts out pretty cocky but things go south for him when a Serpentine encounter gives him horrid acid scars surrounding his lips and chin, which he covers up with a mask. He's the kind of guy who hides his fears behind a swaggy coolkid persona.
Neuro is the son of the Master of Ice, Mahiro, who eventually becomes important later on. He wields the Spear of Ice. Eventually, the defeat of the Overlord ala Zane leaves him missing his left eye and arm, which are eventually replaced with robot prosthetics. He's an ice cold motherfucker who gradually warms up and takes pride in his natural intellect.
Shade is the son of the Master of Fire, but also the son of Mahiro making him Neuro's half-brother (it's complicated) and wields the Crossbow of Fire. He's a scrappy and aggressive street kid and gets treated like such by everyone.
Morro isn't related to the FSM at all. He's an orphan who obviously must've descended from an Elemental Master somewhere, but nobody knows his roots. His role as the fabled Green Ninja is to be the Elemental Master of Life and the prophesized saviour of Ninjago who will eventually destroy the Overlord in Ninjago's greatest time of need. He's much more power-hungry than Lloyd is and absolutely revels in his role as this all-important hero, but gets a reality check very quickly when he realizes that this isn't a game and lives are actually at stake. Besides that, he's the baby of the family and Neuro and Shade have kinda adopted him as their younger brother (the greycale siblings).
That's the main party for now, eventually Clouse joins after he's freed from being the Overlord's vessel and Mahiro also shows up once they find him. These are just brief overviews of each character and I have a lot of details about them and other characters as well if anybody is interested!
CABINET MAN AU Timeline Information
So I’ve talked about it a little bit but I want to go into more detail about the different timeline of the AU!
Tumblr media
this is what i was thinking when i first started the AU and so far I’m sticking to it except for one change! Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitsu is going to hapen AFTER Skybound now, simply because Skybound and Seabound are so close to each other and it seems cruel to put Jay through those seasons nearly back-to-back. Not gonna go into Crystalized yet cuz i still haven’t watched the rest of the season but I’m gonna lay out some key details for the rest of the seasons
In terms of the AU itself, the ones that are the most important are
- Prime Empire (of course) - Hands of Time - Skybound - The Island/Seabound
“But Leo, Hands of Time is not a Jay-centric season and the CMAU is a Jay-centric AU so why would that one be important?”
Hands of Time is the AU that happens after Prime Empire, so it’s kind of the catalyst for the timeline of the AU to get fucked up. In the AU, Hands of Time takes place around a year after Prime Empire! Within that year, Jay was readjusting to life outside of Prime Empire and beginning his ninja training. In that time, he became very close with Master Wu, Morro, and the rest of the ninja. Because of this, even though that season isn’t centered around Jay, that’s when Jay will be doing his first “official” ninja stuff
PILOT EPISODES - DAY OF THE DEPARTED
I’m not thinking too hard about the changes from the pilot eps through Day of the Departed. Because of the way the AU works there are obvious inherent plot holes - Jay is a key member of the team, not only as one of the Elements of Creation and protectors of the Green Ninja but also his inventing skills and such. So don’t. Think about it too hard lmao Nya picks up the slack in those seasons!
The most major change that involves that AU directly is that Morro ends up returning from the dead alongside Cole in Day of the Departed! Neither of them expected that to happen and everyone’s kind of shocked and confused, but Wu welcomes Morro back with open arms. It’s obviously... tense. At first. It takes a lot of getting used to but everyone makes their way around to Morro being a part of the family eventually.
Not gonna go in the specifics of timing for the AU but by the end of it, the ninja + morro are in their early 20s
PRIME EMPIRE
The obvious start to the AU! This takes place over the span of a few weeks, and the aftermath is where Jay reconnects with Ed and Edna, meets Morro (who was away doing some much needed self-discovery this whole season), and starts getting taught by Master Wu. During this time he also gets to know his team! He fills a void that the team hadn’t even realized was forming, and while Jay is beyond relieved that he finally has people around him, he’s worried about how to act to make sure they don’t abandon them like Unagami did.
Unagami goes home with Milton Dyer and the two reconnect like in canon! Jay visits every so often, but there’s an unspoken rift between then that they both have a lot of growing to do before it can be undone
HANDS OF TIME
This season is accurate to what happens in the show BUT Jay is like. A lot closer to Wu than in canon and Morro is also here!! So there’s a lot of stuff involving them - Jay’s episode with his parents still happens but like. Plop Morro down next to him those two are kind of joined at the hip at this point (although when not with Jay, Morro’s usually watching over Wu) also! Jay is trying EXTRA hard to prove that he’s a good ninja and deserves to be on the team (which was never in question to anyone but himself)
SONS OF GARMADON - MARCH OF THE ONI
SOG and Hunted are pretty much the same as canon, not much changes there except for Morro exists. However, since it’s my AU and I get to make the rules, March of the Oni happens. Very differently. Because honestly I find canon MotO to be the worst season of the show but it UNFORTUNATELY sets up key elements for Garmadon so like. I can’t just ignore it (if you like MotO i promise this isn’t like a slight against you i just think it’s poorly written ahhhh) but tbh it’s been a minute since i actually WATCHED the season so I’m not going into it here
SKYBOUND
EEHEHEHHEHE THIS IS MY I GET TO HAVE FUN SEASON :D
so i really don’t like a good chunk of Skybound and it’s writing so grabs Skybound and chucks most of it in the trash my turn with it
FIRST THINGS FIRST NADAKHAN IS NOT GOING TO BE CREEPY WITH NYA BC I HATE THAT
i haven’t decided if i’m gonna keep the forced marriage plot or not because I can’t think of a good replacement yet but at the VERY LEAST if it stays I’m pulling a Musical Beetlejuice where he’s doing it just for the powers and is like “YEAH IT’S A GREENCARD THING” because that’s the only way i can touch this season without being disgusted but anyways
This season keeps its “the public love the ninja as if they were celebrities” thing especially since Jay practically IS one. He’s stepped away from a ton of his idol pop star stuff since becoming a ninja but he still has lots of fans
His wishes are pretty much the same but they’re driven by his fear of abandonment rather than the canon “i’m not good enough for nya” stuff
Jay’s captured on Misfortune’s Keep for around three weeks (two weeks felt too short and anything longer than a month felt way too long). He gets. Kinda really fucked up lmao not only does Nadakhan get real frustrated he can’t get his wish out of Jay he’s like. EXTRA pissed about him trying to get the venom to stop him after he was able to avoid wishing himself into the blade in the first place and all that. so yknow. my excuse to make whump and angsty content heheehhehehe
ALSO THE BIGGEST CHANGE OF ALL: THE SEASON DOESN’T GET UNDONE BC I HATE THAT TOO
how does nadakhan get back in the teapot then? great question i’m unpacking that later BUT that means that the rest of the gang doesn’t completely FORGET all of Jay and Nya’s trauma. And they have. So much trauma.
also i’m redesigning nadakhan cuz i don’t like that he’s Orange okay i’m done rambling about skybound now
SECRETS OF THE FORBIDDEN SPINJITSU - MASTER OF THE MOUNTAIN
These seasons don’t have many changes either! Other than the placement of them of course. Also this is when the second image of Jay’s design comes into play!
THE ISLAND/SEABOUND
Oof the Pain Season
The Island is fun because it’s a bunch of people pampering Jay and he’s like OHOHOHO OF COURSE JUST LIKE THE LEAGUE OF JAYS I MISSED HAVING THIS LEVEL OF FANDOM and then his friends are separated from him and he’s having Less of a Great Time due to his abandonment issues but he’s fiiiiiine
Seabound is obviously,,,,, upsetting. I’ve posted a little about it before but I’ll go into more detail here. Nya and Jay are incredibly close, even if not implicitly romantic in the AU (although as i write this i miss the jaya dynamics so that might change tbh lmao but for now its platonic) so the entire season Jay is incredibly worried for Nya - AND Morro, who shows up at the monastery with his powers also going kinda fucky. Everything pretty much happens the same way, the battery scene kind of fucks Jay up for a while but it’s also a bit cathartic - he’s CHOOSING to use his powers as a battery to save his friends, even though it’s risky.
When Nya becomes the sea? Oh boy.
Jay gets so distraught - he’s tired of losing people, he’s tired of people leaving him, so he isolates himself by choice this time. If he keeps losing everyone around him, he’s going to get himself lost first. That’s how he ends up alone in the lighthouse. The only one who he sees in that entire period of time is Morro and Pixal, who check up on him from time to time. Everyone else is too wrapped up in their own grief.
@squib-2006 honkai IS amazing I love it so much the story the characters guehdhehhb
It’s mostly just a silly fun idea rn with barely coherent concepts tumbling around my mind, sadly I don’t think anything will come out of it bc I don’t think there’s much demand for it :( the curse of having a special interest and a hyperfixation that are worlds apart.
so obviously the origin story for ninjago would need to be altered a bit, like instead of the overlord it was some sort of herrscher-esque (though much more powerful) conscience that awoke and with it started the endless honkai as this AUs form of the balance yk yk.
Anyways just like in the game the honkai are a constant force that evolve and change, but instead of the silly abstract monsters and zombies we see in the honkai universe they take on other forms like stone warriors, nindroids (via corrupting the code or whatever) yada yada (maybe the serpentine?? Toying with the idea that a sentient species was born as a result of the honkai or even honkai infections in humans) with the battle between the FSM and the overlord and the first serpentine war being major honkai eruption events that resulted in the birth of the herrschers and their successors one by one, i e, the elemental masters.
I don’t really know how the fsm would work in this universe, maybe as like a fruit of like an equivalent to the imaginary tree or whatever and used his creation powers to craft the land and humanity was then born, but upon doing so the overlord (I feel like they’d have a different name since it’d be more of a sentient entity, maybe the overlord themself was like also a fruit of the imaginary tree?? And essentially the first herrscher??) also came into being and with it the honkai were born and spread across the island. The fsm saw this disaster and he gathered some people he saw potential in, gifting them temporary powers either in the form of artifacts or whatever to help him fight back the honkai spread. In this universe they were actually successful in killing the overlord (for good. Kind of.) and the honkai vanished
…until only a few years later when a massive energy spike disrupted the entire world, and one of his generals (I e one of the first elemental masters) became the first, well, originally human herrscher. The honkai came back in full force and more herrschers were born from both strangers and allies alike until the entirety of the dark island side of ninjago was compromised and the fsm made the decision to seal the herrschers and break apart the island to prevent the spread, essentially abandoning that part of the population (were there survivors? Is there still civilization on the dark island that managed to beat back the honkai and start villages and communities that are bitter and consider the currently sealed herrschers their chance at vengeance? Who knows!) and trying to forget.
fast forward to the serpentine war. The serpentine being either another group of people like usual or having smthn to do with the honkai, I dunno. I think the honkai approach is more interesting personally and like exploring a sentient and fully intelligent honkai being but I’m not sure. The serpentine and humans are afraid and tense and Chen pulls strings (Chen might be like a sort of herrscher Stan but for his own ambitions in this AU instead of anacondrai stan) and it erupts into a war. Wu had been preparing since in this AU Morro would become a herrscher host after the whole golden weapons fiasco and he, knowing the last time this happened was aware that it could signal an oncoming of honkai formed the elemental alliance as a countermeasure (with the elemental alliance essentially being Valkyrie equivalents given special powers, weapons, artifacts etc. to help the fight against the honkai) (also not fully related but this is honkai x ninjago so yeah wu kills Morro so now Morro is justified) though unlike with the FSM this alliance would be much less strained and more friendly, with many familial bonds being developed while they fought side by side. At first they just dealt with the occasional stray honkai and politics and such, until Chen initiated the war. At some point Earth (no clue what the master of earths name would be here - it’s worth noting that in this AU none of the EMs are inherently related since herrschers jump between hosts and don’t need blood relations to do so, though some might be for plot purposes) begins to feel sympathetic for the serpentine, jumpstarted by Chens influence, and defects to fight on their side of the war, at some point being awakened as a herrscher or causing a herrscher awakening (why not both? The EA (omg that’s actually the abbreviation for elemental alliance that’s hilarious) being forced to watch as one of their own becomes a herrscher as a result of betrayal (maybe they were super close to earth..) and getting caught in the middle of a massive honkai event that decimates the environment. No longer is it about the war, the humans and anacondrai are both trying to flee and save as many of their own as they can now that the herrschers are going ballistic at each other, having completely forgotten anything else around them… mmm… delicious angst)
Earth is eventually killed (The new host is chosen surprisingly quickly as a little girl… cough cough Lilly cough cough) and the serpentine are sealed (maybe alongside other ems? I dunno, the war is messy and I don’t feel like fleshing it out too much) using the same techniques the fsm used to seal the herrschers on the dark island and all is well until suddenly the time twins cause a massive honkai event and become herrschers - intentionally - and the ea manage to like I dunno subdue them boring answer or snap them out of it but realize they chose this route yada yada angst betrayal sadness trust issues blah blah blah after a long fight since they lost most of their numbers (I only highlighted earth and an anonymous em but there were probably casualties, not all ems will be herrschers simply because that’d be too many herrschers and it’d get stale) yeah it ends in the time vortex but Krux breaks free of it using herrscher powers or whatever Acronix was in a coma or smthn so that’s why he didn’t do the same and then Krux begins his evil master plan of conquering the world using an army of controlled honkai and his own herrscher powers (somehow Krux is able to control himself as a herrscher I dunno I told u this is ideas jumble)
yeah uh anyways Wu is like “finally it’s over” then Lilly in a far off city hears him and throws a temper tantrum to which he goes “OH MY GOD WHAT THE HECK NOT ANOTHER HERRSCHER” and he gets there and it’s just a child causing mildly threatening honkai quakes. Thought she might have caused her parents to abandon her. She’s not doing any massive damage right now and Wu knows that some people would argue it would probably be better for the world in the future to.. coughs.. LOOK GUYS THIS IS A HONKAI X NINJAGO AU I HAVE TO SAY IT it would be better to just to get rid of her now so that they don’t have to deal with another major honkai event in the future (plus she’s an orphan) …but Wu doesn’t have the heart to do that again after everything he lost to the war and with Morro and he can’t bring himself to ever be able to justify that action while looking at this abandoned child who just so happened to be a herrscher so Wu does what Wu does and that’s take her in and bring her to the monastery. (god Wu’s becoming the Fu Hua of this AU isn’t he… I mean he’d be a less cold fu hua but still)
Lilly is a unique case in that she’s been a herrscher since she was a child and Wu is likely trying to tutor her in either restraining or controlling it so she’d eventually grow to have more of a control over her powers somehow, though she’d still be capable of getting lost in them and basically tethers on a brink between the honkai influence and her humanity and physically can not tell the difference between them, so she’s still fairly destructive and can be dangerous. Lilly still does everything she does in canon though maybe with more like character arc n stuff but she still dies young. Either due to her unique herrscher case somehow or honkai infection or whatever. But it doesn’t pass to a new host entirely.
WHICH BRINGS US TO THE NINJA AT LONG LAST
Cole is one of the rare cases of being a blood relative to a herrscher (since Lilly is important to his character and Lilly has her own story so) He’s not.. fully.. a herrscher?? But also he’s not NOT a herrscher. He does have an inherently shorter lifespan because, yk, kinda human + kinda god of honkai thingy doesn’t mix well and he probably suffers some form of long term honkai infection that will slowly claim his body. Nobody really knows the extent of the whole partial herrscher or just honkai thingymajig (and that’s my way of saying I don’t feel like figuring it out.) it’d probably tie into his plot with Lou n stuff. Lou knows obviously, I dunno if the ninja (or even Cole himself) would. He had a honkai outburst after Lilly’s death and that’s how Wu found him (Wu wasn’t aware of Cole since Lilly cut ties with him before that so that she could lead a normal life and he wanted to honor her wishes as best he could, and also bc Lilly knows Wu knows she’s a herrscher and she wanted to protect Cole from the consequences of that if anybody else found out and decided to take drastic measures)
Kai and Nya are mostly ordinary asides from Ray and Maya being survivors of the EA who were proficient in creating weapons used by the elemental alliance. Oh yeah Ray and Maya were still kidnapped by Krux in this btw, and Kai and Nya still have the plots they have in the show. Just like most of the ninja they eventually become herrscher hosts (or just Nya so that Kai can be the token human in all universes, but I don’t know.)
Jay was still raised by Ed and Edna in the junkyard. Lib was probably turned into a herrscher after his birth and decided she couldn’t raise him or went missing for other reasons after the war, possibly went insane. Anyways I feel like Jay might have been a child herrscher kinda. He’d just randomly go full electric and his parents chalked it up to a weird quirk. Somehow. He has no clue of this and it only gets worse as he grows up and he starts feeling scared of himself and runs away without a goal except to protect his parents and then he meets Wu. He probably was given an herrscher core instead of being,like “natural born” since I don’t think he’d get to be in any major honkai events in the desert but I dunno, so he’d probably have an alternate persona.
Zane I have two ideas for: 1. He was a child from the serpentine war who survived but with severe honkai infection and had cybernetic replacements to prolong his lifespan, with a herrscher core being used to power him as some sort of experiment. The core and stuff made it so he didn’t age. 2: he was built entirely as a robot, the herrscher core being used as a power source but as a side effect caused him to gain a conscience. He probably doesn’t remember anything of the herrschers/his previous life beyond flashes. The herrscher core gives him his ice power thingymajig.
I’m gonna b honest I have NO CLUE about Lloyd. Like at all. Cshfhsf I’m sorry-
I feel as though with herrscher powers n stuff -
Cole would have powers for the most part since S1 but not really on a herrscher scale bc yknow. Lilly and what not. I think he’d have a herrscher awakening but not as the herrscher of earth but like an offshoot.. like maybe in S5 with his ghost thingy..? And obviously S13.
I think it’d be funny if Kai is the token human and just relies on Valkyrie weapons n stuff. No powers for him. :) but if he did have one it’d be s7.
Nya was ALWAYS a Valkyrie in this AU but she didn’t think she was a herrscher for like the longest time up until S5. Here she makes the choice to try and seal her herrscher self away nd keep going as just a Valkyrie but eventually gives into it during S14.
Zane regularly experiences snippets of his prev life that he’s forgotten or sights from his herrscher core as like a special nifty power or whatever but his first outbreak was during S3 and he had a worse one in S11 where his memories, ironically enough, were instead reverted back to whatever his old persona was and he became the ice emperor over the poor never realm and introduced the honkai to them.
Jay I dunno really since he’d have an alternate persona and it’s hard to cram that into his focus seasons. No clue how the seasons plots would go at ALL in general.
..this post was way longer than I planned but yeah scrambled mess of thoughts. Also might not make sense since I’m only on Taixuan Dream story wise so. Yeah. This AU would have a ton of hurt/comfort, angst and character interactions and stuff though bc yk it’s a honkai AU. I have no clue how the plot would go pls help this post alone took forever. I didn’t even mention garmadon and his whole situation because I dunno.
Ninjago au where: Not Garmadon but Sensei Wu was bitten by Great Devourer.
Basicly both brothers stays with they own powers (Garmadon with power of Destruction and Wu with power of Creation), they just swapped roles.
So, in here, Lord Wu got bitten by GD, studied under Master Chen, signed love letter that Garmadon wrote for Misako, is Lloyd's father and in general, does what Garmadon was doing in the series. Not a lot of changes on this part.
But i wouldn't be myself if i didn't change anything in lore.
Garmadon is ninjas' sensei, trains them and stuff, mostly does everything like Wu (he's just forgetting to tell them something... sometimes...) but he didn't made Morro think that he is a Green Ninja. Honestly, Garmadon doesn't believe that Green Ninja is a real thing, so he only looks for elemental masters that want and can protect Ninjago from evil and most important from his brother. He's really surprise when Kai suggest that Lloyd is a Green Ninja but just accepted it. Morro wasn't that happy but Lloyd is his cousin that he care about, so he just stands by protecting him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, yeah. The most important thing, GARMADON DOESN'T FLIRT WITH SOMEONE'S WIFE. He got over it after Wu and Misako's wedding. The end, he doesn't love her, I don't care. (Also he does know that Wu signed his letter. At first he wanted to tear his brother in half, but just gave up. Honestly, if Misako doesn't see differences between their handwriting and way they express themselves, she also might not see differences in who's bed she is. Garmadon definitively doesn't need that.)
Am I gonna create an AU/original story that's just an excuse to make Ninago OCs. Yes.
Is it goining to be pure self indulgence for me and only me? Yes.
I'm gonna call it the 10th Genaration because it takes place 300 years after the recent battle with the Overlord and it's been 10 generations since the Ninja. Lloyd is still around cuz dragoni blood, and he's been doing minor ninja business since Ninjago's been at peace since events in Crystalised. Living out his best chill life, until he hears rumours of the four elements of creation and the elements of wojira awakening once again. The green ninja sets of to find these indivuduals, and they become his first pupils.
The new elemental masters are basicaly reincarnations of the ninja + Morro, and after they reach their full potential they somehow are able to speak with the spirits of their past incarnation ala ATLA. The ninja spirits try to give their reincarnations some wisdom but they're just as chaotic as they were in their youth (seriously they are kids the youngest is 12 and the oldest is 16). Lloyd is a tired dad doing his best. Mostly lots of fluff and chaos
Oh and Garmadon is here too. He's the fun chaos grampa that's sorta good but not good but not bad. Garmadon do what Garmadon do. Wu us chilling in the Departed Realm with the FSM and his students.
TLDR; Lloyd's kids are a menace to society because Garmadon keeps encouraging them to do chaos. Also they can talk to dead ninja
now introducing…
Ninjago Miraculous AU
So a lot of the Ninjago lore will still happen, but this au is kind of set in the movie universe (as in, the ninja go to high school and Lloyd didn’t age up with the travelers tea).
Wu is the holder of the miraculous box, because the first spinjitsu master was the one who created it in order to contain all of the powers of the miraculouses (miraculi??). The FSM trusted his sons with the powers of creation and destruction (Wu with creation, Garmadon with destruction) and everything was fine for a while. However, the Overlord managed to steal the butterfly miraculous and akumatize Garmadon. In order to keep the Overlord from getting a hold of the power of creation as well, Wu hid the miraculous box, including the miraculous of creation. Garmadon was able to break free of the Overlord’s grasp for a while, enough time to meet Misako and start a family, but soon fell victim to the akuma again. Garmadon vanished for several years, and Misako supposedly went after him. Neither were around to raise Lloyd, who this AU focuses on.
Lloyd is 16, a sophomore at Ninjago High. He grew up in a boarding school before an old man suddenly appeared and whisked him away to Ninjago City at age 11 to live with him, his biological uncle. It has been years since his father vanished, but Wu tells him that it’s only a matter of time before he shows up again. At the time that this AU starts, Wu gives Lloyd the ladybug miraculous, telling him that he will have to defeat the Overlord and his father in order to bring peace to Ninjago. More and more akumatized people start showing up, so the Overlord must be waiting to send out Garmadon until he’s sure that nothing else will work.
Wu tells Lloyd that he can enlist the help of others who he trusts with a miraculous. Of course, Lloyd immediately turns to his best friend Kai, an 18 year old who is almost a brother to him. Lloyd gives Kai the miraculous of the tiger, one that holds the power of exaltation.
After Kai, Lloyd gives the miraculous of the ox to Cole, who is the same age as Kai. Kai and Cole are very close, and both of them watch over Lloyd.
Lloyd then gives the miraculous of the turtle to Zane, another 18 year old (possibly, Lloyd and the others think something’s odd about him…possibly a robot? haha jk…unless??)
Then, Lloyd gives the miraculous of the monkey to Jay, who is also the same age as the Zane, Cole, and Kai.
Now all of the people in his friend group have a miraculous…
Except Nya, who is actually a lot smarter than the average Ninjago citizen. She immediately realizes that the heroic ladybug superhero is none other than the boy she thinks of as a younger brother. Of course, she knows Kai is the tiger superhero because she walked in on him transforming (he doesn’t know that she knows), and she can’t let her brothers be in danger without being able to help. So, she tracks Lloyd down, follows him to the miraculous box (seriously, how had nobody done this before?) and takes the mouse miraculous. More on this side plot later.
Harumi exists. Lloyd likes her and gives her the miraculous of the bee, she turns out to be evil and wants to help the Overlord. I hate her. (there is no lloyd and harumi relationship and do not tag it either please)
Other characters to expect…
Pixal (I LOVE HER SHE IS MY FAVORITE)
Dareth (I’m so excited for this one. Hint: Dark Owl)
Misako
Skylor (I’m not a huge fan of Kai and Skylor in a relationship so they probably won’t end up together…sorry. But she will still play a pretty big role)
Akita (!!!!baby!!!!)
Morro
Lots of villains as akumatized people
Vania (Same thing as Skylor. But I love her and she is a queen that will probably only be there a couple times but I think a side plot with her would be so cool)
Let me know if you want to hear more about details!! I will post character descriptions later as well as superhero names and outfit designs.
My AUs/Projects (updated regularly, except I'm slacking lol)
Everything is under the cut bc it got too long :P
Ik I have it in my bio but I'm pinning this post again for easy access while I whip up master posts for each of my aus... and a masterpost for those masterposts, probably. again, for easy access
Bizarro Ninja
- Kai centric
"In the fight against the Bizarro Ninja, Kai gets dusted by his Bizarro counterpart."
Unwritten
Written in Stone AU
(Aka, the most developed one. Still subject to retcon/change)
- Morro + Lloyd centric
"After being pick-pocketed in Jamanakai Village, Morro takes pity on the brat and adopts takes him under his wing, as his master once did for him."
Some drabbles written, subject to change/retcon (need to link all drabbles and shitposts for this au here. Also playlists?)
Masterpost/doc in the works
Master of Creation! Morro AU
- Morro (+ maybe Lloyd) centric
"For better or for worse, Morro inherits his master’s legacy and raising the Green Ninja until his time comes to defeat the Overlord."
Unwritten
Need to link playlist(s)
"Dark Souls" Ninjago AU
- Morro + Lloyd or Ninja centric
"After a great calamity leaves the balance tilted, the Realm of Ninjago descends into darkness."
Unwritten
(Lmao I have so many Morro + Lloyd centric AUs, can you tell I have a lot of Green Cousins feelings?)
Smith Sibs Angst AU
- Kai + Nya centric
Instead of leaving the two kids to fend for themselves, Krux strategies to keep them apart.
Security Breach 3 star ending/"Human" Freddy AU
(Aka Thing I Don't Have A Name For then again do I have a name for anything around here?)
- Freddy, Gregory + Vanny centric
(Vanny and Vanessa are most likely the same person in this AU but that might change later)
We're ignoring that canonically, Freddy doesn't have a body in this ending- just. He keeps his body and he, Gregory, and Vanny(Vanessa?) leave the Pizzaplex together. Angst/fluff. Also slice of life and found family.
Masterpost/drabble in the works
Maria Lives(?) Or something AU (Sa2)
(Very basic name, I'll find a better one for it later. Probably.)
Maria + Shadow centric
I'd write a proper description for this one if it wasn't a very rough basic idea. Also I just love these two alot and they stole my brain. That's okay I didn't need it
Sonic 06: Original Timeline + Rewrite (unofficial title)
Uhh pretty much everyone gets a role so. Everybody(?) centric?
Rewriting sonic 06 just a bit, and also exploring more of the doomed timeline
Doomed Timeline/Original Sonic 06 Timeline
Shadow centric, and maybe some Silver too
Hey, wouldn't it be funny of Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) came after Sonic 06. Haha jkjk... unless? 😳
Shadow The Hedgehog (2005) Rewrite
Team Dark centric
Yes this is yet another au/fic project centered around found family dynamics what about it
Somehow accidentally made a Sonic X oc so now Shadow has his own scrappy kid
Shadow + Original Character centric
Ya so I started watching Sonic X, just finished s1 fantastic amazing that season finale was just *chefs kiss* literally I am. Dying for Shadow content even tho it don't come until season 2 and boy we are. Speedrunning the adventure games huh. Anyways I accidentally made an edgy teen oc so now I'm sticking them with Shadow and they have to put up with each other and also I love them. Uhh oc introduction soon? As soon as I've got some good 💪art💪 for them...
SatBK but make it gae and the plot make sense
Probably Sonic and Shadow/Lancelot centric. Possibly Sonadow.
I finally watched a playthrough of SatBK and I have Opinions but I'll be merciful and spare you the wall of text. Straight to the business, I desperately want to do SatBK some justice bc God help me it's called Sonic and the BLACK KNIGHT- istg if the "black knight" is supposed to be "king arthur" im gonna. ITS SHADOWWW ! !!! I'm nothing if not a Shadow truther and he and Sonic should've had an enemies to friends frenemy bromance arc SEGA PLEASE- also there's some fuckery going on with the plot but thats not important
Sonic Western AU
technically omniscent?
mostly an excuse to put sonic characters in silly hats and costumes.
Shadow's Mixtape AU
Team Dark centric but mostly big sis/lil bro Rouge and Shadow
something something Shadow missed out on a lot since he was asleep for 50 years. Rouge takes it upon herself to catch him up on the times... with a mixtape. Things dont go as smoothly as the bat would hope...
(yes, fic/drabble and playlist in the works)
IDW Metal Virus arc AU
Sonic and Shadow centric (obvs but this is technically omniscient)
Just a big fat excuse to have the two but heads but have to begrudgingly work together to Fix Things I just. Ough theres so much to play with I'm a kid in a candy store rn I'm just gonna go HAM >:DD
Strays AU
Shadow centric, lots of fluff
Shadow seems to have a habit of collecting strays... and they aren't just cats.
Projects & stuff
- The Idea TM
- WiS! Morro (Serpentine War Era)
- MoC! Morro
- Ronin wip?
- Finish Elemental Team Up
- Come up with a better name for Bizarro Ninja AU T-T
- TAG YOUR SHIT MARS T-T
- Written in Stone Masterpost/Infodump
- WiS: the Vengestone Situation
- should probably link all of the WiS!AU drabbles here, just to have them all in one place..
- 3 star au masterpost/general content
- baby Phos pentest doodle :P
- Valentine's day shitpost (late) 😭😭 girl help
au where instead of wu giving morro a kite when they were a kid, wu instead gave morro a book about origami and a bunch of origami paper ^^ so morro wouldve discovered their elemental power much later (probably at a time when they were more mature) and the whole green ninja thing never happened and morro never ran away i just think the idea of morro being a bit of a master of arts and crafts is really cute, wu would definitely buy morro some art supplies and help them improve their crafting/folding techniques and stuff
Oh my god
How did I never think about how different things would be if Wu just hadn't given Morro a kite......
He'd definitely help them with all that (Wu should get to be creative, he's the freakin,,, master of creation) and be happy to get supplies for Morro
Morro could show off their crafts to others that came to the monastery, if they got the courage to.....
Headcannon/AU fact; Wu’s staff was made by Garmadon when they were younger. He made it out of his element and he made it as a symbol that from destruction, creation will rise to balance things out.
Wu’s staff can change into any he wants to such as a gun and it’s kinda similar to the Staff of Elements in the sense that it can corrupt Elemental Masters. Since the staff was made by Garamdon and both he and Wu possess the two most strongest Elements, I feel like it would make sense that it would have a crap-ton of power.
Another thought I had for this was that Morro is somewhat immune to the staff’s corruption since he’s kinda Wu’s descendant. Like the Ninja are trying to figure out how do they give that staff to Wu without getting corrupted and Morro just swoops in, grabs it and nothing happens and the Ninja are just confused.
