Listing off a fun idea for a Lego Ninjago game with a self insert.
You are a new student of Wu's whose past is fairly simple. You wanted to train to better yourself.
Get full customization for your character's looks.
One of the Ninja is assigned your mentor (random, quiz, or chosen), so you can be taught the basics quickly.
A villain comes with chronosteel blades and saps all the Ninjas' powers, and kidnapping them in their moment of weakness.
One of the blades (with your mentor's power) is stolen back by you before the villain leaves on their conquest of Ninjago.
With Wu's guidance, you become the stand in (Element) Ninja that has your mentor's color accented with your chosen custom color or take one of their spare gis (maybe a simpler, early season 1 gi?)
Travel across Ninjago to locations where bosses working under the main villain are using a blade to control the area with force.
Defeat them to regain the Elements, gain side powers to assist your main in the journey to save Ninjago.
Jay's lightning as to strike enemies quicker
Lloyd's power to extend combos
Cole's power to defend against stronger enemies
Zane's power to go berserk on crowds or bosses
Kai's power to strengthen attack in general
Nya's power to wipe out multiple enemies
The main villain has a twist where they reveal to have kidnapped Skylor before anyone else.
The Villain having been able to control ALL of the elements since the kidnapping.
Final fight is against this boss and using knowledge of fhe elements type advantages to beat them.
Releasing the Ninja and Skylor also means giving up your powers at the end. But you've proven yourself to be capable of protecting Ninjago!
You're included in the end as a custom colored ninja and a group photo ia taken to end the game.
After main game specials is things like boss rush, survival mode, one-life challenge (in a seperate save) where your file is deleted upon death. (You can still save your character created in the file for another run), and minigames found around the story.
100% completion gifts your character a golden gi, golden powers during boss fights, new customs that are spreadable to a new save, and a joke dating sim where you and Cole fight over a slice of cake.

Odd genre of Ninjago fanart is when people draw Samurai X with a really feminine silhouette, as if both Nya and Pixal weren't assumed to be men while wearing the suit. Like I'm sorry but that battle armour does not have massive tits and hips.
