Hello! I know you wrote that your askbox is open for chap204 question, so feel free to answer this whenever. I scrolled so far down you reapers tag the app glitched and would only show me the same posts on loop so I didn't see if you answered something about that before: in GW arc, Sasha said that Ciel could see reapers either due to his being close to death or because of his lineage. But people had no problems seeing butler!Grell, or passenger!Ronald, or circus membre!William, or Grell and Othello at the manor and there's other exemples like Undertaker? So is it a mistake by Yana or did I misunderstood?

There are some older posts about this, but they might be hard to pin down, especially if Tumblr starts glitching. 😆

When can you see reapers?

When trying to hide, only certain people can see them, and only under certain circumstances. Reapers can be seen by anyone when they are not trying to hide.

However, there's some reasonable debate on whether Grelle is supposed to be seen by everyone when Lizzie is in fight mode and automatically points her sword at Grelle. I think Grelle was not trying to be invisible at that moment. The main reason I say that is because Sebastian stops Lizzie from fighting Grelle, and Sebastian clearly cannot see reapers who are trying to remain invisible.

Regardless of whether Grelle was trying to be invisible right then, though, the question remains why Lizzie would automatically point a sword at a reaper when she was fighting bizarre dolls.

Even though reapers are supposed to have souls, they are definitely different from regular human beings... and Lizzie might have sensed something off about Grelle (in general), before Sebastian can say anything about Grelle (specifically).

Automatically registering that reapers are not human might be a nod to her lineage anyway, just as seeing reapers when they are in hiding is a nod to our earl's lineage. Keep in mind that our earl only takes note of Sascha and Ludger when he hears one of them say "Phantomhive"; he turns around at the word and finds them in the trees. Similarly, Lizzie only tries to attack a reaper when she's caught up in her sword fighting "zone". In such states, they are probably more open to their own burgeoning powers/abilities.

Types of candy the Shinigami Dispatch likes :3

Grell Sutcliff -She likes many kinds of candy, but chocolate is her favorite by a long shot.

-Ferrero Rocher is her favorite brand. Though, she's always up for trying new things. Lindor is also another favorite of hers.

-She'll buy kinder eggs just to eat the chocolate and give the toy to Ronald.

-But nothing bitter. Ew.

Ronald Knox

-He's a gummy type of guy.

-Gummy worms, bears, as long as it's a sweet gummy, he'll take it.

-He could settle for fruit snacks, but they don't hit like gummies. Nothing does.

William T. Spears

-He likes BITTER. ASS. CHOCOLATE.

-The kind that makes you wanna curl up and cry.

-He gets the dark chocolate that's so raw that you couldn't even lick the bar before scrunching up your face in pure agony and disgust.

-He doesn't understand why everyone thinks it's so bad.

Undertaker

-Sour. Everything fucking sour.

-He eats warheads like they're nothing.

-Hell, he'll even eat pure citric acid.

-If you asked why or how he even eats that kinda shit, he'll either respond with "I like how it makes my mouth bleed" or "How can I not?"

Othello

-He likes peeps.

-Marshmallow-y stuff.

-He says he doesn't like hard candies because he's afraid it'll "break his teeth"

Eric Slingby/Alan Humphries

-These two like candy covered/coated fruits.

-Chocolate covered strawberries and candy apples really hit the spot.

-They'll visit places that provide fruits with a chocolate fountain only to smother all the restaurant's fruits with the chocolate and run away without paying.

Sascha/Ludger

-Hard candy. But mainly lollipops.

-Sascha likes the ones with gum in the middle.

-Sascha likes those big flashy cartoony lollipops while Ludger would just settle with your average Dum Dum.

sum. One of the many things you got as perks as Ludger's girlfriend is to see the infamous Professor's vulnerability.

note. i considered this as fluff since ludger throughout the webtoon is just a bright neon sign that says "i'm tired, just give me a hug"

He tells himself he won't be overusing his magic, yet when disaster strikes he always count on his pills to replenish the lost mana he had used to subdue his enemies.

Under normal circumstances, it's just his everyday life as a professor. But when you're in the picture, it's a different story

He was reluctant in crashing in your place, but he had no other choice if he didn't want to totally collapse out of exhaustion.

If he had to endure your earful rant, it's tolerable than passing out in the middle of nowhere. He hopes you won't break up with him the next day though.

"I'm sorry, you're supposed to be resting and you you don't need to do this, but here you are taking care of me." He sighed and relished the temporary bliss of your hands kneading his shoulders.

Truth to be told, it was his fault for disturbing your beauty rest in the midst of the witching hour after his little excursion of eliminating some criminals stirring trouble in the city.

If he really means you don't need to take care of him then he wouldn't have barged in your home. But with the time you spent with him, you know one thing, he always comes back to you.

"Now this is new, you actually know how to apologize?" You teased.

"Don't push your luck." He grumbled, head rested on your chest as he makes subtle eye contact with you from his upside down angle.

He admires you while your eyes caught blood stains on his suit, the fabric is too dark that it hides away the crimson splatter so it wasn't a surprise you only noticed it just now, your face soon contorted in concern, "Ludger, what is—"

"They're not mine." He promptly cut you off and groans when the aching burn in his chest reoccurs, "What's the matter?" Your hands halted from its ministration and intended to reangle his body.

"Just stay." He caught your wrist and places your hand back on his shoulder, indicating for you to resume, "But you're hurting. I want to know what's causing your discomfort." You expressed.

"You don't need to fret over it. Trust me, this happens every once a week or so and I know how to handle myself." He then proceeds to snuggle closer to you, clearly dismissing the topic.

Your only response is your rueful sigh and leaned against the bed frame to support your weight and his.

He did his best to convince you, but when you felt his temperature slowly increasing under your palm, you can't dismiss it any longer.

"You're catching fever, Ludger." You firmly stated.

He was ready for his rebuttal but you shut him down with a glare.

"You're staying here while I fetch for porridge and a medicine." He almost whines when you gently placed his head on the pillow and rushed in the kitchen.

He doesn't feel heavyweighted like a typical feverish person would, but when he checked his temperature boy did he got burned. He deduced he might have gotten it after over exerting his body. It's not an impossible guess considering he deals with teenagers who just hit puberty by day and eradicates foolish criminals by night. If anything, he deserves that sweet resignation letter already.

You emerge minutes later with what you told him and practically commanded him to sit up and eat. All this while, you noticed the slight upturn of his lips, "What are you smirking at?" You perched your eyebrow, nothing good ever comes with his unusual mischief.

"It's delightful to see you worry over me. A mage who every student in the Academy respects and every professor envies. I'm the least person on anyone's mind to be worried about, yet you're here, feeding me porridge in my blood soaked suit."

Your cheeks instantly flamed, that's one out of the three times you ever see him so open about his feelings. But you also know he's doing this to get a reaction from you, which he successfully did.

"If you can talk in that state then I have no doubt no one should be worried about you." You snorted and shoved a spoonful of hot soup in his mouth without a warning and he yelped, almost choking.

"I feel pity for your future patients." He glared at you.

"You should pity yourself first before anyone, now drink." You handed him a glass of water and medicine for his fever.

With one last glare, he complied to your commands, "I followed your instructions, now we cuddle."

You grimaced, "You're sick, I don't want to catch your fever."

"It's only a mild fever caused by overworking, it's not that severe."

"I'll cuddle with you once your temperature goes down. Sleep."

He sighed, "I wonder what the students are going to think if they see me like this." You rolled your eyes, but a sudden lightbulb lit up, "Sleep, or I'll document everything that happened here and sell it to the journalists. You don't want that now, do you?"

He doesn't seem that threatened and only slumped on your bed and was fast asleep after a few minutes.

You decided against your better judgement and joined in to cuddle with him the rest of the night. You could've sworn something soft pecked the top of your head as you sleep overtakes you.

If Undertaker is Ciel's grandfather, could Ciel have any supernatural abilities?

Inherited abilities from granddad?

Either or both twins could, yes. I'd like to think that our earl's abilities would be stronger than real Ciel's. Like... sure, he's got asthma from his mom... but he's also got something special from the paternal grandfather.

Well, in ch103, our earl responds to Sascha saying his last name. Like he gets a chill and immediately turns to look where the reapers are supposed to be invisible. Sebastian can't even see them, at least not at first. But when our earl turns to look, he can see them, and they are surprised. If they hadn't mentioned his name or the family name, he might have never felt their presence at all. But it's still telling how that gives him a sensation and makes him look right at them. So, I'd say that is a trait he has acquired from grandpa....

And ch108 shows what could either be a reaper trait or simply an identical twin thing: sort of temporarily jumping into his soulless Bizarre Doll twin to see Undertaker by the bedside. Of course, we don't know what Undertaker was administering to real Ciel, but I have a feeling our earl and Ciel have a special twin connection, even though real Ciel's soul has been devoured. Also keep in mind that our earl wakes up to find Sebastian by the bedside, and he is the one who devoured that soul. Reminds me very strongly of Lucas and Claus in Mother3, since the mirror twins in that also make a psychic connection to each other without even trying... after the older mirror twin, Claus, was killed and turned into a Fascinating Chimera. Once he was turned into a Fascinating Chimera, Claus was referred to as "heartless" by the Magypsies (game's parallel to the reapers). So, the psychic connection only required minds, not hearts or souls. Could be the same thing here: our earl is connecting to real Ciel's mind alone.

But even if the mental connection thing isn't a reaper trait, seeing reapers who are trying to remain invisible probably is.
