Okay, because I just heard the spoilers for the Beastars ending, my stupid brain keeps thinking about the ultimate cosmic joke if any endgame pairings indeed got together and had kids. It is awful, but I need to just set it down and let it exist. Juno x Louis: End up having a kid together because apparently Azuki can't have children and they worked out an accord for a poly relationship. Their child is a very tall Red Wolf girl that has a tiny short tail and very blunt teeth that is extremely popular in school because she got famous as being the kid in grade school who could be satisfied with just tomato and mayo sandwiches (which Louis is very confused about since all of her parents have a much more refined taste). Els x Bill: Nobody was remotely surprised when they got together--except their families, ha--but they were very surprised at how fast they had kids. Five of them, all told; all girls. Two sets of twins and one last surprise with them being born three years apart. All of them are very small white tigers with very thick coats that give them marbled accents. The youngest has a set of horns to set her apart, but all of them have no taste for meat or inclination to try it (a massive relief to Bill, because while the Back Alley Market is less of a thing than it was when he was young, he still worries terribly about Els coming across one of the girls hiding meat or with blood smeared across their lips after they reached puberty). Haru x Legosi: Because they did get married very soon after high school, everyone was in attendance to their wedding; and everyone got an invite--less than a year later when Haru got pregnant--to the baby shower. And everyone helped out and visited when she landed in the hospital because holy shit did the baby get big--Els and Juno made sure to get pictures of Haru almost being as wide as she was tall at the end. But the baby turned out healthy and wonderful with her bunny looks and Legosi's coloring. Of course when the boy got to high school and hit puberty, he got just as tall as his dad, with about a million animals being attracted to him, all with his growing sharp teeth and a rising inclination towards more substantial protein than just the eggs he ate (Legosi can't help but feel this is a little unfair since he's the only one of his friends with a herbivore presenting child; Haru thinks it's just a little hilarious).

Beast Complex: The Deer and the Wolf
(Warning: This is a VERY self-indulgent fanfic, read at own risk)
He was a red deer at the beginning of his fifties. He had a slim build and fair face that made him look younger than he actually was. The square-framed pince-nez glasses he was wearing helped making him look like an animal of a certain age. He was dressed in a black suit, appropriate due to the funeral he had to host only four days ago.
The CEO of the Horns conglomerate tapped the table with a finger while feeling anxious. Louis was unsure if accepting the offer of a cup of coffee to catch up with her was such a good idea. They hadn't seen each other in years, and they didn't part on good terms. Or at least, not exactly good, but perhaps not bad either. But he had been so surprised to see her attend the cremating ceremony, he had probably not been thinking straight.
Louis took a glance around the coffee shop. Several animals had gathered here to chat. He saw a orange cat with a cell phone of a sort similar to the kind Louis had used when he was a teenager. Louis was glad that phones had made a comeback, he had never been thrilled about the lenses you could put into your eyes, it felt... wrong and intrusive. But perhaps new technology always felt threatening when you had reach a certain age.
Louis then spotted an empty table with a half-filled tea cup and an empty glass. There was a straw in the glass, the end of it had been chewed on.
It made the deer recall something. Something that made him blush.
"Louis."
Louis blinked and turned his attention toward a grey wolf with brown fur. She was dressed in a dark-blue blazer that was open, revealing a white shirt. Her fur was curly. She seemed like she was out of breath, as if she had been running, but she wore high heels.
Louis smiled, more out of a sense of being polite than actually being happy to see her. "Juno, it's good to see you again."
"I'm very sorry, there was a small crisis at the studio. One of the models had accused the tiger who took the photos of looking at her funny. I swear, bunny models are gonna be the death of me..." Juno took a seat at the other end of Louis' table. "Iced strawberry latte, please." She said to the hyena who worked as waiter in the café.
"I would like another coffee." Louis said. He looked at Juno. "So... you seem to be in good health."
"I am."
"Time sure flies by."
"Sure does."
"I should have tried to stay in touch-"
"We have both been busy." Juno said this despite knowing that was not the reason they hadn't talked in years.
There was an awkward pause. Neither the wolf or the deer knew what to say. But after they got their drinks, Juno decided to take the initiative. She recalled that she usually had to when it came to matters with Louis.
"I was not sure if showing up to the funeral was a good idea or not. The article said only family and close friends were invited-"
"I would say you belong in the second category."
Juno raised an eyebrow. "Do I?"
Louis shrugged. "As far as I'm concerned." He sighed and smiled awkwardly. "I appreciate that you came."
Juno took a big sip of her latte. "Your daughter sure didn't. She was rude."
"Only because she thought you were a nosey stranger. I'm surprised Marie didn't recognize you. She wears one of your dresses for parties."
Juno smirked. "Then your daughter has good taste."
Louis rolled his eyes and made a small laugh. "Well, aren't you modest..."
Juno did her best not to wag her tail, it was not proper for a wolf her age to do so in public. Then, she looked serious. "I'm very sorry. Well, for what happened to her. To Azuki."
Louis' face changed into a grave expression. "Well... that makes two of us." Louis sighed before placing his cup against his lips.
Juno emptied her cup. She hesitated for a moment, wondering if what she was about to ask was too intrusive. But she had to know. "Did you... love your wife?"
Louis blinked. He coughed, almost spitting out the coffee. He had forgotten how direct this wolf could be. Juno looked at Louis, waiting for an answer. Louis decided to clean his classes to win some time.
"Well..." Louis cleared his throat. "I should just answer yes, that would be the appropriate response, but... it's not that simple. Azuki was very frank, she told me our marriage was about what was best for the Horns Conglomerate. We had a daughter, but that does not necessarily make a couple closer. But we grew to care a great deal for each other. Calling it friendship is not a fitting description, she was not my friend, she was... my companion." Louis smiled. "She knew me so well, she understood me. And now that she is gone... it is as if I lost a small part of myself." Louis sighed, then noticed he was shedding a tear.
He looked at Juno. The wolf started crying as well. And what she said... took him completely by surprise.
"YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Juno yelled, exposing all of her fangs while slamming a fist against the table.
Louis almost lept from his chair. He pushed his classes closer to his eyes as he looked confused. "Excuse me?"
Juno growled, not giving a damn about tact in public space. "Our last night together, when I left that train... the one thing that made me keep calm, the one thing that stopped me from bawling my eyes out and yell at you and kick you in the groin... was knowing you would never be happy with that bimbo!"
Louis was baffled. Then angry. "Hey, that's my wife you are talking abo-"
"I could handle you not being mine because I could comfort myself with you being unsatisfied and unhappy with that pipsqueak! And now you are telling me that you actually miss her?!"
"I... I'm sorry, are you saying that I have hurt your feelings by caring for a female I was married to for thirty years?!"
"Yes, dammit!" Juno stood up and glared at the middle-aged deer. "You owe me me to at least having been a tiny bit miserable with her!"
Louis felt as if he was about to explode as he stood up as well. "You selfish... you childish... you self-centered... you egotistical..." He dropped his glasses as he yelled at the female wolf. "YOU HAVEN'T CHANGED AT ALL, HAVE YOU?!"
For a moment they just glared at each other. The other animals at the coffee-house had stopped talking and eating and instead looked at the heated argument that had started in the middle of the room. The orange cat picked up their phone, wondering if calling the police was necessary
And then, Juno started to giggle, covering her mouth.
Louis narrowed his eyes. "What? What's so funny?"
Juno snorted. "You still look like a little kid when you get all worked up!"
Louis heart was pounding. He was utterly confused. He blushed.
And then he grabbed Juno by the collar of her blazer and kissed her. The wolf was startled, but then hugged the deer and returned the kiss.
Everyone in the coffee-shop looked completely petrified except for the cat who filmed the dramatic scene with their phone.
Then... Louis regained his sanity. He pushed Juno away, resulting in her tripping because of her high heels. "WHAT ON EARTH AM I DOING!? I JUST BURRIED MY WIFE LESS THAN A WEEK AGO! YOU DAMN WOLVES, YOU MAKE ME LOSE MY MIND!" And then he stormed out of the room.
Juno giggled as she sat on the floor. "Wow..."

A Pause in the Chase
Fandom: Beastars
Pairing: Juno/Louis, Azuki/Louis
Summary: Down at the boardwalk with some of the drama club kids, Juno encounters someone she did not expect.
AO3 | Pillowfort
______________________________________________________________
It had been Juno’s idea to go down to the boardwalk. In the wet, still air of late summer, it seemed only right to be down where they could catch a sea breeze, and sticky their fingers with unnecessary sweets, and forget about class for a while. Convincing a few others to meet her wasn’t hard: Juno had a persuasive way about her, and the stress of the city’s recent politics, and the school’s shifting policies made everyone keen for an escape.
They met outside the old barber shop, which traditionally marked the beginning of what was easy to dismiss as a tourist trap—but that discounted its value for dorky, overpriced fun for the locals as well. May, bouncing up and down as if to give herself more height on her taller classmates, insisted they start with snacks. The lethargic vibe among the students, or the atmosphere of simple excitement and silly fun on the street did away with any arguing about where they were going for that: first, May got caramel corn from a street-side vendor; then, Tao, Els, and Juno bought ridiculously oversized ice cream cones from the old-fashioned parlor down the road; and Pina and Dom got roasted nuts from the curio shop next door.
From there, they meandered aimlessly down the sidewalk, the kind of directionless teen socializing that put adults on the warpath.
“We should go down to the water!” Els said, chasing an errant drip down her ice cream cone.
“First, we should hit up the arcade!” Tao said, his tail flicking eagerly.
“You’re not going to win anything,” Pina told him.
               “Oh, wanna bet?”
               May snorted, and Dom laughed.
“Beats hearing about Kai tripping on-stage for the millionth time,” he said to Juno with an amused little smile.
“You’ve heard all those stories a lot more than me,” she reminded him.
“Ah, true, I forget you’re so new. You seem so comfortable on-stage,” he said. “Actually, it reminds me a bit of Louis-senpai.” The mention of Louis made Juno’s tail still, and her back stiffen. Her, and Louis—anything alike? How? “I never remember seeing him with stage fright, not once. It was like, the moment he stepped foot on stage, he was in his domain, and the audience couldn’t touch him.”
“I don’t think we’re anything alike,” she said, taking less care with her tone than perhaps she should have.
“Well not very alike,” Dom agreed. “You’re much more…I suppose ‘approachable’ is the word? Sometimes it seemed like Louis spent most of his time in his own world.”
“Yeah…he can be that way,” Juno muttered. “Hey!” Suddenly, she lifted her voice to the amicable debate on what to do next. “I agree with Els, let’s go to the water! The arcade will be open all night.”
In a true testament to everyone’s good mood, they agreed, and as soon as they reached the sand, Els and May were stripping off their shoes and socks to plunge their feet into the shallow, glassy stretches of water washing against the dark sand. Juno, torn between joining them and the rest of her ice cream, looked between the two things until Dom, who preferred to keep his feet dry, offered to hold it for her.
“Can’t promise it’ll still be here when you get back,” he warned, as Juno tossed her socks into a pile in the sand and ran after her classmates. She’d done her best to roll up her jeans, but the tight fabric didn’t allow for much, and they ended up getting soaked anyway, but she considered it worthwhile. For a little while, the troubles of the rest of the city couldn’t touch them, not even the ones that had seeped into their school.
When they tired of splashing around, and Tao had given up on a sandcastle which was tragically lacking in building code standards, they made their way through the airy building that housed several cheesy shops, two restaurants, and had a straight view of the ocean.
“Oh, hang on…” Juno couldn’t stop herself from being distracted by a patterned scarf hanging temptingly just outside the doorway of one of the shops.
“Come on, Juno,” May urged. “Everything here is super overpriced! It’s just for tourists!”
“I’ll catch up,” she said, waving them on.
“Are you sure?” Dom asked at the same time Tao responded, “Okay, see you later!”
The scarf was pretty, but when Juno checked the tag, May had been right: definitely overpriced. Still, was it cute enough to warrant a bit of overpaying? Juno wandered deeper into the store, drawn in by the bright colors and stylish beachwear. That was the pitfall of wearing uniforms to school: most often, she wasn’t getting a chance to put her outfits together herself!
Still, that was quite a lot to spend on a shirt, and the rest of the team was already going to rib her for even going into the place, so Juno relented and left to catch up with the rest of them. It was on her way out, not ten steps from the overpriced scarf, that she caught sight of a very familiar set of antlers over by the windows that overlooked the sea.
               Louis-senpai!
There was an unusual, almost pinkish tint to his antlers that she had never seen before, and she wondered if a deer’s antlers could change color for any reason. But her ruminations on this evaporated promptly: on his arm was a hind. She was dressed in a fine-looking white shirt, gauzy with a wide neckline, and billowy sleeves that, held flat and still, might come down just above her elbow. Beneath it she wore a creamy white skirt, narrow, with thick navy stripes, and between the two, a dark belt. Her kitten heels brought her to Louis’ height, and while Juno couldn’t see her face from her current angle, she couldn’t fault the deer’s sense of style. She must have been saying something: Louis was turned towards her, listening. There was no one else it could be, it had to be
               The Fiancée.
Juno had to brace herself against the whirlwind of emotions that swept over her, and did her best to immediately dismiss the fury at Louis. He had told her he had a fiancée: he had been very clear on that point, and its contribution to why nothing could ever happen between the two of them. That Juno had not properly conceptualized the existence of this hind was no fault of Louis’. Taking her seriously had been difficult: Louis never spoke of her, outside making Juno aware of her existence (which he only seemed to do in order to discourage Juno’s pursuit); he never posted pictures of her on any of his social media feeds (that Juno was aware of); he didn’t even wear a ring. Up until then, Juno wouldn’t have said it was wholly out of the real of possibility that Louis had simply made her up in order to have a tool to push Juno away. Seeing her in person, so unexpectedly, felt like seeing a unicorn: one had to grapple with its very existence before handling the rest of the situation.
Shit, shit, shit—they were turning, starting to walk down her way, and Juno practically hurled herself behind a nearby Dippin’ Dots stand, earning herself a very disgruntled look from the old dog running it.
“I dropped my…necklace,” she babbled, spreading her hands out on the floor and scrutinizing the worn wood as if searching. “It broke.” She went on with her fake search until she could glance back and see that Louis and The Fiancée were past. “I forgot, I wasn’t wearing a necklace,” she blurted to the ice cream guy, and rushed off towards the arcade, thankfully in the opposite direction as the couple. She did glance back as they stepped out into the open air. A breeze ruffled Louis’ coat and made The Fiancée’s sleeves ripple like the undulations of the sea. Her hand rested delicately at the crook of Louis’ elbow, not a claw to be seen, and Juno felt something hard and sharp twist in her chest.
Was this how Legoshi-senpai felt, she wondered? Watching Haru-senpai, knowing how much better off she’d be with another rabbit? She had criticized him for rejecting his own species and pursuit an herbivore but…but...(Rex, this seemed to hurt worse than being rejected by Legoshi). She couldn’t take her eyes off them; it wasn’t until they turned a corner and were gone from her view that Juno was able to shake herself out of it and turn to trudge off in the direction her classmates had gone.
Skeeball couldn’t hold her interest the way it might have before seeing what she’d seen outside the clothing boutique. As the rest of the group cheered while the machines vomited tickets out at them, Juno declined to play more than an occasional round. May tugged at her shirt, and Juno looked down at the raccoon.
“Are you doing okay, kouhai?” May asked.
“Oh yeah, I’m fine,” Juno said with a forced smile. “I guess I just got sleepy all of a sudden. It’s probably the heat.”
“You want to sit down? Dom mentioned getting some of those waffles from Edgar’s,” she said. “Might be a good chance to rest.”
“Sure, I could have a waffle.”
“Hey! Are we up for waffles?” They were, as it happened, and they decided to cash in for their prizes and go get some more food. With a brief smirk at Pina, Tao collected the mass of tickets from the group and piled them up on the counter.
“What can we get for these?” he asked.
“Check out this spinner thing,” Els said, looking through the displays in the glass counter.
“There’s nerf guns!” May said, pointing.
“Check out the Manbat bag,” Dom said, looking at the shelves behind the cashier.
“I told you pooling our tickets was the best idea,” Tao bragged. “So, what are our options?” he asked the cashier.
“You can pick from…” He reached into the counter and slapped a box of pencil top erasers down on top, “one of these, or…” A box of individual chain monkeys, “three of these.” They stared.
“That’s…that’s it?” Tao asked. “We’ve got a few hundred tickets here!” The cashier pointed to the ticket prices on each, and Pina burst out laughing, slapping his hand down on the edge of the counter.
“Alright, you win, Tao-senpai!” he cackled. “I was sooo wrong. Those are definitely worth the amount of time you spent shooting hoops with that crappy basketball.” With the most resentful look Juno had ever seen on his face, Tao snatched three plastic monkeys out of the box and stuffed them into his pocket.
“Thanks,” he muttered to the cashier, ears flat, and followed the rest out in pursuit of more junk food.
Waffles piled high with whipped cream, fresh fruit, cheese, red bean paste, and the rainbow of other confections offered by Edgar’s Waffle Extravaganza was enough to take their minds off anything else. Tao even linked up his three monkeys and put them on the table, where they promptly became group toys, with Pina determinedly trying to hang one off Tao’s drink straw, and Els trying to use the other two to form a heart so she could snap a picture in Instagram commemoration of their outing.
Juno and Dom slipped briefly into discussing costuming for the next play, and Tao lamented that Legoshi wasn’t around to help with lighting anymore, and they all exhaled, in a moment of silence, in relief that Tem’s murderer was definitively no longer among them.
“I hadn’t even realized how much it had been weighing on me,” Dom murmured, and then they quickly moved on to a new topic.
Juno excused herself to the restroom, feeling good about how well everyone was getting along. She’d been a little surprised, that she could get this many of them together over a holiday, but she was glad—not that it wasn’t nice to see her family, but she’d gotten used to being surrounded by other students, and as much as she loved her little brothers, she missed hanging out with people her own age.
Someone in the stall beside her exited, and Juno heard the brief click of heels before the sink was on. When she came out a moment later, she felt like her fight-or-flight instinct had just been electrocuted: it was The Fiancée.
With a good view of her face, Juno could now verify with resentful dismay that The Fiancée was just about as striking as Louis himself. There was cold, stately beauty in the sharp lines of her face, softened by her wide brown eyes, thickly framed with long, dark lashes. And she did have good fashion sense, Juno had to give, though with great irritation.
“Hi!” The moment the squeaky greeting left her mouth, Juno wanted to put her head through the mirror. What. Are you doing? she demanded of herself, to which she wailed in reply: I don’t know! Her instincts sucked.
The hind’s almond-shaped eyes flicked up to Juno in the mirror, then went back to scrubbing the soap out from between her fingers.
               “Hello.”
“Great day for being at the beach, huh?” Now that Juno had started this pointless conversation, she felt a desperate responsibility to take it somewhere.
“Mm.” The Fiancée could not have been more clearly uninterested in talking to this teenage wolf, which made continuing the conversation feel almost like waging war: Juno persisted.
“Are you from around here, or just visiting?” she asked, squeezing far too much soap into her hand.
“I’m from here.” The Fiancée flicked her hands out in the sink, and went for the paper towels. “But I’m out of town most of the year for school.” Maybe that was why Juno had never seen them around before! As soon as that thought occurred to her, she battered it out of her mind in disgrace: the city was huge. That was why she’d never run into them out before.
“I live here too!” she replied, putting her canine perkiness on to full effect. “I go to Cherryton!” That, at least briefly, captured The Fiancée’s interest. She must have recognized it as the school her fiancé had attended. “My name’s Juno,” she said, offering the hind her dripping wet hand. By the time she realized what she’d done, she decided she didn’t care. The Fiancée regarded the sopping paw for a moment, then gave it a firm shake, and helped herself to another paper towel.
“Azuki,” The Fiancée—Azuki—replied. She tossed her paper towels, and returned to the mirror to scrutinize some flaw Juno couldn’t see. The she-wolf rubbed a hand along the rim of the sink and fought the urge to shuffle her feet.
“I came here with some friends from school,” she said. “But…” She trailed off, and after a long pause, Azuki’s eyes flicked over to her, as if to prompt the rest of the sentence. “Boys make everything too complicated, don’t they?” At this point, Juno’s mouth was a runaway carriage and there was nothing she could do but stand to the side and gape in horror, hoping it wouldn’t crash through the living room wall. “Do you have a boyfriend?” Azuki didn’t even have the courtesy to start talking so that Juno would stop, so she had to ask a question.
“No.” There was such a long lull between that and Azuki’s next statement that Juno thought for several seconds she was just going to leave it there. “I’m engaged.” She did not look at Juno when she spoke.
“Oh. Sorry, I just thought—you’re such a beautiful deer,” she blurted out. “I thought you would know about this kind of thing. Congratulations, on the engagement!” Maybe it wasn’t too late to go and drown herself in the toilet. It would stop her thinking about what gorgeous fawns Louis and Azuki were going to make together.
“Sorry, kid,” Azuki said. She straightened up, considered something, then looked over at Juno. “What’s this problem you have?” Hell, now she was going to have to explain…
“It’s just that…” Juno trailed off, nibbling her lower lip, then plowed on: “What are you supposed to do, when you know somebody likes you, but they’re afraid to do anything about it?”
“Sometimes you have to take the initiative,” Azuki said with a shrug.
“No, no…I mean, we’ve talked. We’re…he knows I know he likes me. But he just…won’t agree to go out with me. There’s…other stuff, I guess.” Azuki’s eyes raked over her and Juno forced herself not to squirm under the hind’s gaze. There was no way Azuki could know anything—she seemed to be as much a stranger to this deer as anyone. Why would Louis have told her about Juno?
“If he’s made up his mind, there may be nothing you can do,” Azuki said at last, settling her purse at the crook of her elbow. “And you don’t want to waste your time. Just because he likes you doesn’t mean he’s willing to dance, and you can’t do a pas de deux on your own.”
I’m taking her to the ballet, Louis had said. She likes it.
Juno felt her shoulders slouch, and she was sorry she’d ever bothered talking to this deer. Everyone in the world thought it was terrible idea, except Legoshi (and probably Haru, but Juno had never asked her about it). When the whole world was telling her the same thing…it was enough to make her start wondering if maybe she was wrong.
Azuki paused just before the door, her eyes fixed somewhere on the floor, and then she turned back.
“But love—real love—is rare,” she said quietly. “If you think this is that…you should hold onto it. You’ll never forgive yourself for throwing it away.” With that, she pushed out of the restroom and left Juno to stare wide-eyed after her, trying to pick apart that statement.
***
“Ready?” Louis was on the bench where she had left him, and he rose to his feet as she approached. There was no comment about how long she’d been.
“Yes.” He gestured them on, and they left the boardwalk to wander out to the pier. “You were right,” she said abruptly as they moved through the slow evening air. “Coming here was a good idea. I forget how refreshing the air is.”
“It’s nice to get out,” he agreed. “If it weren’t for the plants on Lucy’s desk, I think I’d go entire days without seeing something green.” He almost smiled as he looked over at her, and Azuki twitched her ear in acknowledgement, but her thoughts were many miles away, disturbed by that she-wolf in the bathroom.
“We should sit for a while,” she said as they made their way towards the end of the pier. “The sun will be setting soon.” Louis agreed, and they found a bench to watch the sky erupt in orange and red, and fade out to purple and blue. Louis said something about politics, but Azuki’s only thoughts were for another deer: her muzzle slender and faintly spotted, her belly white, and the taste of apricots on her lips.
Love is too precious to spoil with something like marriage, she thought. Let it stay perfect and forever out of reach in memory.
And Louis thought: If marriage to someone I don’t love is the bargain I made to live, so be it.
Back at the waffle shop, where the drama kids were trooping out to break up and head home, Juno wondered if Azuki would have given her the same advice if she knew that it was her own fiancé that Juno was pursuing. She wasn’t entirely convinced the answer was no.

Yandere!Juno headcanons if you're so inclined? Could be in general or x Louis
I’ll do a little of both, just because you’ve been so patient
Yandere is a portmanteau of two Japanese words. The first is yanderu, which means “to be sick,” and the second is deredere, used here for “lovestruck.” A yandere is often sweet, caring, and innocent before switching into someone who displays an extreme, often violent or psychotic, level of devotion to a love interest.
Spoilers ahead for those who haven’t finished the manga, I don’t normally warn about it but I am in this case
-Maeve
Yandere!Juno
Juno is a yandere that no one really knows is a yandere, until it’s too late
She appears friendly, and tends to insert herself in any activities the object of her affection is doing. If they join a club, she becomes a member (but also tends to get in a position of power). If they have a hobby, she asks about it and aggressively supports it.
Juno is very persistent, and wont leave the object of her affection alone. She’s constantly texting, calling, and spending time with them. She’s around so much, and has such a loud personality, they wont realize everyone else is...gone.
Juno is so good at wiggling herself into their lives, that if they make her upset, she punishes them by not being around. This seems counter productive, but since Juno had already driven everyone else away, they’ll find themselves...alone. Completely. They may try and talk to their old friends, but it’s awkward and weird. Juno also goes the extra mile for her beloved, so they may find so many little things in their life awkward when she’s gone.
Juno is not above poisoning her object of affection so they get sick, and have to rely on her. Now that she’s the only one you have, you wont be able to leave her.
Yandere!JunoxLouis
Obviously, Louis and Juno have an undeniable chemistry. Juno can barely contain herself when she’s around him, and she thinks he likes her too.
Louis, to his credit, knows there’s more to Juno than meets the eye. However, he overestimates his own abilities, and underestimates hers. He gives her credit for being a strong carnivore, but doesn’t consider her intellect or her social abilities
Her biggest hurdle is the fiancé. Juno needs her to be gone if Louis and her are going to be together.
The first step was getting rid of his father. His father is the one who still controls Louis behind the scenes. All it took was her stepping out on the curb when the car was going a little too fast. The car swerved violently. That was one hurdle down.
His fiancé was going to be a lot harder. She had body guards, money, and more power than Juno herself had. Well, Azuki’s family did. Azuki herself? Weak, vulnerable, empty. There was no drive in her eyes, no life.
Juno got her alone on false pretenses. Azuki was going to college, and Juno made sure that Azuki was the one who showed her around.
When Juno finally killed Azuki weeks later, Azuki didn’t even fight back.
Louis never suspected a thing. All he knew is that Juno was the one who was there for him through it all, and she made sure he knew she always would be

The End (My Thoughts of Chapter 196 of BEASTARS)
And so, the finale was released.
Link (will edit once official translation is released): https://w17.read-beastarsmanga.com/manga/beastars-chapter-196/
SPOILERS.
I guess... You either end a good story, or you drag it out long enough to see it become a train-wreck...?
The end of this arc was not quite what I was expecting. Hell, the rest of this entire arc was not what I was expecting. I’m not gonna lie and say it wasn’t one disappointment after the other, these last few chapters. At least, Legoshi x Haru is official now. Yaaaaay...?
It still leaves a lot of previous threads hanging by their intestines. If If Yahya is retired as Beastar now, then... WHO is gonna be the new Beastar? Unless they don’t need a new Beastar, since Yafya’s still crime-fighting, but what’s the point of him retiring as the Beastar if that’s the case?? I thought Legoshi and Louis were going to eventually step up and become Beastars after stopping Melon. From the very beginning of the manga, it seemed like it was leading up to either Legoshi or Louis, or the both of them, earning their way to the title of Beastar like Gosha and Yahya. And if Legoshi didn’t want to become a Beastar, and even if Juno appeared to think she wasn’t suited to be a Beastar earlier, I thought Louis and Juno were going to gradually become Beastars together, since their bond started off with them aiming for it. What’s the point of it being called “Beastars” if nobody becomes the Beastar(s) in the end? I thought that a carnivore and an herbivore like Legoshi and Louis (or Louis and Juno) becoming Beastars was going to further show that coexistence between the two communities was possible, becoming the ragtag duo that Gosha and Yafya once were. After Chapter 194, I was hoping that Louis would realize his love for Juno and go back to her after something (bad or otherwise) happened to Azuki in later chapters, forcing him to realize his love and perhaps even recruit her into the Horns’ Conglomerate. I thought the Love-Failure arc was just one of a few more arcs to come, and Louis and Juno were going to develop their relationship and Legoshi and Haru were going to go past the dating point as the arcs went on. But Legoshi and Haru, with their relationship being the biggest plotline and driving-force of the manga, simply end the manga with “dating”, and Louis is left in a loveless marriage with somebody who doesn’t even really love him, who can’t even bring herself to let go of their business and try to connect with him...
What ever happened to not letting society dictate how you live your life?? All the previous scenes between him and Juno seemed to be leading up to them getting together. What was the point of Juno confessing her love to him like that on TV? What was the point of Louis being unable to have sex with the doe without thinking about Juno? What was the point of their reunion and kiss in Chapter 101? Louis’s character-arc was thrown out the window and stepped on like a puddle in a pavement.
And really? Melon never found out his father was alive??? So, he’s never going to find out that he killed his mother for nothing? I don’t know how that would’ve change anything about him, considering he’s an irredeemable serial killer, but c’mon. I was still hoping to see how Melon would’ve reacted to such a shocking moment for his life, if he’d call him out for abandoning him and kill him for his actions as a parent. His father might as well have stayed dead...
And don’t even get me started on the Melon and Haru situation (again)... It had so much potential to impact the third act, but nothing ever came from it. Just as nothing ever came from Kyuu selling out Legoshi (which also could’ve had an impact on the climax), or Legoshi fasting, or Jack’s history lesson, or Deshico and the Kopi Luwak group, or the Bloodbone drug corporation and the tusk trade Melon was a part of.
Speaking of which, I’m disappointed that these previous occupations weren’t shown as much or had as big of an impact. It seemed like Melon was planning to increase tension between carnivores and herbivores by sending carnivores into a frenzy through doping them up on the Bloodbone drugs and make the resulting attacks look like predations, but we never saw more Bloodbone drug scenes beyond the one with Legoshi and those BAM drug-dealers in the Life as a Dropout arc. It’s a shame, because I would have liked to have seen a few scenes of Melon interacting with other members of the Bloodbone drug corporation and the tusk trade business, perhaps using the tusks of the elephants he murdered as a ‘therapist’ to create more drugs, since it calls for herbivore bones to be ground into powder. We already saw him as a therapist, a college professor, and the leader of the Shishigumi, but we never really saw him as the manager of the tusk trade business or producer of the Bloodbone drugs. I would’ve loved to have seen how he obtained and managed to juggle between all those jobs.
I still really wish he had had a bigger goal for society and the BAM, because with all the crazy stuff going on, it looked like it was going to lead to an all-out civil-war again, where Melon was going to try and start a second carni-herbi war by increasing the tension between the two communities and destabilizing society, getting his revenge on the world that had hated him. It was called The Revenge of the Love-Failure, after all. The arc should have escalated into something bigger...
Beastars may as well have ended after the Riz arc at this point. A bit of me hopes that there might be a sequel, but after the end of this manga, what’s the point of it? I guess some things can be fixed with the upcoming Beast Complex serialization...? Unless it involves the old characters from Beast Complex, where the Beastars characters have a cameo or two, which I’m pretty sure is probably what it’s gonna be. At the same time, though, you shouldn’t have to rely on second-hand sources to polish up plot-holes or unfinished places in your previous story...
Even if the manga has ended poorly, there’s still Beastars Season 2 to look forward to, and plenty of fanfictions to enjoy. I’ve been reading the Beastars/GoT crossover fantasy “Ashfall” and a recent fic “Twisted Horns and Pure Hearts”, which is about Melon growing up with Legoshi and Jack as friends in Cherryton, and I’ve considered reading “Mongrels”, which is an alternate take on the Beastars ending. I read the first chapter and I really enjoyed it. I just don’t understand what happened that caused Beastars to start decaying... I guess Paru either got sick of it and wanted to move on to something else, or her editors/or publishers got sick of it and wanted her to finish it already, or both... or Paru just made it all up as she went since she said in an interview that she had no plans for what came after the Murder Solution Arc.
Well, whatever it was... Here’s to hoping that Orange can improve the Love-Failure arc, somehow, since they did change a couple of things in Season One... But still, I’m gonna try not to keep hopes high. There’s just so much potential in Melon’s arc that could be improved upon, most of which I already mentioned in my previous posts.
Whatever endeavor Paru Itagaki pursues next in her career as a mangaka, I wish her luck and hope she’ll improve further in the future. <3 Thank you, Paru-sensei, for giving us a fun, interesting world with awesome, complex, fascinating, relatable characters.

I do have a question actually! What did you think of the latest Louis and Juno chapter? Because that shit hurted. It left me feeling disapointed too.
Honestly, it is what we could expect. The world of Beastars is not perfect, far from it.
My favorite chapter of Beast Complex(Beastars prequal series) is the third where a camel is dating a wolf. Sure, they love each other, but it just won’t work.
Its a little of the same here. Louis is madly in love with Juno, but the way he has decided to live his life sadly doesn’t include her. He is marrying Azuki for the sake of business since he has decided that the best way he can try and make the world a better place is by running the Horns Conglomerate. And one of the ways to run it as successful as possible is by marrying not just another deer but one who is the daughter of a CEO the HC does business with. Also, herbivore/carnivore romance is a hot mess, something Louis has stated before that he does not want to drag Juno into.
Juno gets that... but she can still leave him a little souvenir...

Juno will at least know that Louis will never really be satisfied with Azuki´s fangless kisses.

Some Beastars shipping drawing I did for Halloween. For Azuki and Agata I drew Azuki as a witch and Agata as a demon.
Tumblr media
For Louis and Juno, I went with Louis dressed as Berkut and Juno as Rinea.
Tumblr media
For Legoshi as Sailor Moon and Haru as Tuxedo Mask. Let face it, Legoshi crossdressing is a god zen.

Finally, Jack x Mizuchi with one as detective and another as a baseball player zombie.
