Fellow subjugs joining the church like it was a game or simply a gang where they could kill indiscriminately bothered Lazrus so much that he ruthlessly fought tooth and nail for his position as grand pope.  To him, to be a subjuggulator is so serve the messiahs and their holy mission of spreading the word of mirth by any means necessary. The western church is volatile and violent still, but with more structure and concentration on holy rituals and mass unlike some of the ragtag groups that wander Alternia. He is very strict in his position and will cull any and all opposing subjuggulators who do not follow his guidelines and structure within his territory.  While he doesn’t consider himself the western Grand Highblood, he considers himself an authority figure to the west and his reputation proceeds him. Lazrus has a strong belief that there should only be one GHB, and currently, he has no desire to take up the position. Nor will he ever, in any case as he feels the eastern GHB is doing well enough.  Currently, Lazrus presides over a large holy city with a large cathedral in the center, where he lives, and convents surrounding. The city boasts thousands upon thousands of fellow subjugs following his teachings which include priests, nuns, and monks as well as other holy men. Any and all within his city walls answer to him. The city is a hub of religious knowledge and culture that Lazrus has carefully cultivated over thousands of sweeps and he’s damn proud of it and will kill to preserve. And even more proud to be High Pope Subjuggulator.
