On one hand I hate Damian and Irey as a relationship but on the other hand Irey being in a throuple is very on brand
This is an official announcement Damian Wayne and Jon Kent have broken up. The couple got into and argument over their future a while ago and now have officially split. For those wondering what this means for the throuple (Damian Wayne, Jon Kent, and Iris West II) they are still discussing it. Which those not in the know means either the first reverse harem publicly acknowledged by the Wayne or Ms West will have to chose one. Either way this is be entertaining all of us in Gotham for a while. At least until the joker breaks out again.
CLARIFICATION: Damian Wayne and his significant others are above the age of 18
We asked all the members of the Wayne family and Tim Drake responded by saying “Damian’s love life sounds more complicated then mine”
Jason Todd also responded and said “I told him to never date his best friend”

THE SURGE UNIVERSE: JAI OVERVIEW
And we are back folks! Talking about the main character, the orange blur, The timeless speedster, JAI WEST!!!!!!!!, Yes I drank a cup of coffee before writing this
So who is Jai west? Well let's go over a quick overview on Jai in canon so we can go over his Surge universe counterpart
Canon:
Jai west is the son of wally west and Linda, he and his twin sister, iris west II were both the victims of Speed aging as they were aged up to 10 years old, They would go on adventures with their dad and having no codenames with jai having the ability to increase his muscle mass and gaining super strength, Jai lost his powers during the events of flash rebirth leaving him powerless and no connection to the speedforce. In rebirth he returns before death metal along with his sister and in the flash by Jeremy Adams he regains powers and now has the codename of surge

With that done we can now go to surge universe with a quick overview of him, I'll keep this spoiler free though
Surge universe:
Jai starts to feel the need to prove himself so in his first few months of being the surge and regaining his powers he goes to Gotham one day and patrols there meeting Stephanie brown aka the spoiler and runs into the diamond gang, A few months later Jai would be patrolling dodge city with the help of other heroes called "One" and "Home run", one day the jail of dodge city is broken into and Jai is all alone, feeling like he's already got this he feels like he can handle it only to meet the Supervillain "Saint Lucifer" he would nearly die only surviving cause Saint Lucifer would throw him into a lake where Home Run would save him, Jai's rogues gallery is let free and Jai later on meets the mysterious traveler...and now after meeting the traveler jai begins developing unknown powers with a mysterious blue electricity...
Some fun facts about Jai in the surge universe here are
He is autistic which does affect his social life in a way especially with expressing his feelings
He's dating Lian Harper with Lian being one of the biggest pillars of support
He's a Mama's boy
Unlike in recent comics he is able to be independent from his sister, the two still are very close though
He calls certain people uncle or Aunt, like he calls Bart uncle which does get on Barts nerves but he understands it's only because it's easier for Jai to understand
He traded off his invulnerability to gain back his super speed
Him and home run once fought Lucifer to get back souls from hell cause he asked for a yoyo
He's extremely creative
Anyway that was Jai west in the surge universe!!, Hope you all enjoy and next up our favorite redheaded archer is up next! See you all next time!

I can see that argument but in multiple scenes Irey is shown to be double the height of jai and is drawn much more as a teen/tween while Jai is very clearly drawn as a kid. Also I don’t think we can judge the original intention off of other comic runs because all of them write Irey and Jai differently then in waids third run.

Hmm interesting I always believed that Irey and Jai speed aged to different ages with Irey being around 12 and Jai being around 8 because they are presented as different ages in the way they are drawn

Impulse Movie
What if there was a sickness in the speed force?
Abra Kadabra puts a trick into the speed force and every person who uses the speed force feels sick but their speed healing is helping them, but not every person that has the speed force is a speedster.
Jai is very sick and everyone is very worried. Max is also feeling the effects from being connected to the force for so long.
The family goes into teams:
- one team (that involves the most speedsters) to face the villain and his army.
- one team (a pair - Bart and Wally) go into the speed force to try and stop it from there.
- Irey, who was told to stay in Mr. Terrific’s lab.
The “movie” cuts between Irey and Bart on their adventures.
Irey meets Circuit Breaker and the two get Jai feeling better enough to deliver the final blow to the armies.
They win and everyone is okay.

Is it just me or is the speed force book pretty weak. Its not exactly bad it just feels empty. I was so happy when I heard we were getting a second book for the flash family and I was even happier to here that it stared both Avery and Ace to characters who get little focus yet are cool. But now that I’ve read the first two issues it just feels like they aren’t starring in this book they’re more just around and occasionally do things issue 2 has more focus on mr. terrific then it does on Ace and Avery combined also for some reason Kon is a main character. This book also seems to weirdly think that Kon Roundhouse Ace Avery and Blue Beetle are all besties despite most of these characters never interacting before today. It kind of feels like the writer wanted to tell this story and wanted to write mr. terrific and superboy and then were given which ever speedsters were free without actually caring about them. This is a real shame considering Avery and Ace have a lot of depth that could be explored especially Ace since he’s essentially become irrelevant and is stuck as the sidekick to a hero who has much more capable sidekicks. If I were writing this I would totally have the book be about Ace moving past being kidflash and coming burst with his silver suit also I would make it have use Meena since she was both Ace and Avery’s mentor

The biggest problem with the flash family is not being to big its just redundancies.
All together the flash family is pretty well used and good it just has a few problems with multiple characters filling the exact same role. For example Barry doesn’t work currently cuz he’s just the other flash which is why I suggest bringing back the Iris is from the future thing and have them live happily in the future together fighting crime there instead of now. The other big case is Ace who struggles from a large amount of problems including being an alternate version of a character, being a side kick who doesn’t work well as the side kick, being a less interesting side kick then the other current options and not having a strong generation any more. My main suggestion to fix that is give him the silver suit and have him be called burst. maybe move him up to his early 20s. I think these two quick fixes will mostly fix the problem though there are certain characters like Jess and Boom who will never come full flash family members due to there not being a place for them.

Can we talk about it?
Let’s talk about how fans of (mostly white) queer ships (usually ships with two men) will ignore the important women in one or both of their lives.
Let’s use an example: there are multiple fanfics/AUs that are created that forgets Linda Park, leaves her out, or even kills her off for the sake of B*rdflash. (I acknowledge Dick isn’t white in comics canon but there is still misogyny there).
Another example: J*yRoy shippers (not all) have taken over the Lian Harper tag so much that you can barely find a CheshRoy post or a post of them as a family or a you know a post of Lian and her mother?!
Mention for Halb*rry fans who forget Wally is Iris’ nephew before she met Barry and just has her dead or not in the picture.
Hmm. Seems like a pattern.

I think a real fun and neat part about all the speedsters in existence dealing with their powers glitching them into 5D incomprehensible planes filled with Eldritch Horrors and nightmares on the daily is that we get to see their reactions to that.
Wally, for example? He shoves that shit deep, deep down and tries to pretend it isn't happening. Denial all the way baby, let's go.
Ace and Avery? Play videogames and hope it goes away while you teeter on the verge of a panic attack.
Irey? Stare at the void and watch as it stares back.
Jai? Stare at the void and then get beat up by the void. Cry a little. The void stole your clothes, now what?
Barry? Depressive spiral. He's in his room now. He lives there. The door is locked.
Max? Spiritual enlightenment. Speaks to the Speedforce Buffalo
Bart? Unfazed. Doesn't even realize it's happening because this is just Tuesday for Bart. He's eating novelty pickles. Get on his level.

Have fun!
(Hi! Thank you! Yup, I’m still doing the prompts for the flash family, so feel free to send me one sentence prompts for the flash family! I love writing! Heads up for swearing and bullying. I own nothing DC owns.)
Irey doesn’t know why people act like being impulsive is a bad thing. She personally thinks that being quick on your feet is a good thing.
Take right now for example.
“Get back here!” Samantha exclaimed and Irey really wished she was in her costume right now. She can’t explain why Iris West II would have the ability to have super speed.
“You’re not taking this very well, Sammy!” Irey called back and she ran faster to the doors—not quite speedster level, but maybe a bit of the speed force was being used.
She heard Samantha yell and run faster.
The gate that led to the middle school opened and a very familiar car pulled up.
Samantha was running closer so Irey used the speed force quickly and tripped her and put her on the grass.
Normal time started again. Irey watched as Linda got out of the car. The girl put up an innocent face. “Holy shit! Mom, look! Samantha tripped.”
Linda raised an eyebrow. “Are you okay, Samantha?”
“Fine.” Sammy said still on the grass.
“Great. Maybe see the nurse.”
Sammy left with a final glare towards Irey.
Linda fixed Irey with a mom look. “Using your speed to mess with people is not a good use of that. I know you wouldn’t do that for no reason. What’s up?”
Irey frowned. “She’s bullying Jai.”
Linda bent down to be on Irey’s eye level.
“That’s very kind of you, but you have to keep in mind that violence isn’t always the answer. I know that’s hard to believe when you fight crime, but sometimes you need to be a better person.”
“She—“
“I know. I know it’s hard to be the better person, trust me. I will talk to your Principal. We’ll figure something out.” Linda promised.
Irey nodded. “Got it!”
Linda led her away towards the office then paused.
“Oh, and Irey?”
“Yeah?”
“I’m proud of you.”
(Ahh! I love them and the whole Park-West family very much! Hope that was okay!)

Ok so its been a while since I last posted but any ways I thought I would share what I would do for a flash run (I know I’ve done a similar thing before but its different)
Ok so I would spend the first few issues on a big full flash family event similar to one minute war where something has happened to the speed force and most people with out speed force connections are frozen and slowly dying while all the speedsters/people with speedforce connections have a limited amount of speed left this would also feature future Irey west and set up the spin force which is the balancing force of the universe (if there is a sage strength and still force the top might as well also get a force).
After the event I would start the main story line of the run with an issue about Irey and Jai’s birthday from wally’s perspective (I have to specify because there are Jai and Irey focussed issues later) where wally keeps on talking about all the speed aging stuff but saying everythings fine now with Irey eventually snapping and being like everything is not ok and starts to explain how they’re screwed up do to a lack of childhood (that sounds dumb when I explain it but trust me its good) and also there would be supervillain stuff obvuisely
I would also want future Irey west specials every half a year or something kinda like the trinity specials they are doing for tom kings wonder women where it shows Irey her supporting cast and possible flashes past Irey with Haze and Pace
