Do you think that Michael loves photography?
Do you think he collects different style and era cameras? Do you think his favorite is any type of camera that uses photographic film?
Michael loves developing film, and has a dark room dedicated to it in his and Adam’s apartment.
Michael is always wearing a camera around his neck and he’s always taking pictures of Adam. He has enough pictures of Adam to fill up a city bus three times over.
Adam loves when Michael takes pictures, he poses and models and puts on whatever kind of show Michael wants him to.
The resulting pictures are silly and fun, full of life, and full of adam’s personality. That’s why Michael loves them so much.
That’s why Michael takes so many. That’s why Michael keeps them all, even the blurry ones. That’s why Michael dedicates so much time to his hobby.
Michael loves photography in spite of the fact he has no need for pictures.
His memory is eidetic, better than eidetic. It’s inhuman, extraordinary. He doesn’t require photographs to vividly recall events from long in the past as humans sometimes do. However, holding something physical, something he put time into, gives him such satisfaction that he loves photography; and Adam loves that Michael loves it.
He tells Michael about how “He’s acting more human-like.” and that “He’s going soft on him.”
Michael promptly denies these claims but the fact of the matter is, it’s true.
Since they became free, he has felt closer to Adam. He has understood what it is to be human, before he only had Adams memories and retellings, the real thing is so much more… intense.
Michael has enjoyed his days more than ever before, and he thinks something of lower life forms. Never before has he ever even given a thought to insect life, but photographing a delicate Monarch, or a sharp mantis puts these smaller life forms into perspective for him.
All the things he was never bothered to care about before, he sees now.
He feels now.
He loves now.

So one of our favorite AUs we have is our Reverse AU. Basically, in this AU, Marlon sells Violet and Louis instead of the twins. We don’t have it exactly worked out why yet.
The Delta trades them to McCarroll ranch 2 years before season 4, as part of a deal to help the Delta fight New Richmond. (Since the war Richmond is in is always with the Delta in our stuff.) The ranch sucks, but they were there for 6 months, taking care of the kids. They leave a few days before the raid Clem sees, taking AJ with them.
As they’re leaving, they run into Jane, who gives them Bee. (Note: Jane has not named her kid at this point.) Violet and Louis leave with the kids. Now we’ve got some teens taking care of two toddlers.
As such, Clem doesn’t find AJ at the ranch and assumes he’s dead. She heads back towards New Richmond.
She runs into Lilly on her way back to New Richmond. Lilly tries to kill her, but Violet and Louis help Clem run her off (with stolen guns). They talk, and Clem realizes they have AJ when he says her name. Violet is protective and won’t let Clem hold AJ though. They decide to travel together, though they do not trust each other that much right now. (AJ would not be a fan of them splitting up). They all head back towards New Richmond, skirting the war zone as they go.
New Richmond is winning the war by a long way, in part due to their new Head of Defense. (there’s more jobs now to avoid... all that.) This new Head of Defense is Kenny! Don’t ask me how he lived, but he did. He’s a big help with the war, and is helping Javi organize everything.
When our teen group gets back to Richmond, Clem is obviously overjoyed to see Kenny. Kenny loves seeing her and AJ, and immediately starts trying to bond with the other kids. Violet and Kenny hit it off, as they have similar personalities. After a bit, Kenny also befriends Louis and Bee.
Violet, Louis, and Clem help out with the war. They’re at New Richmond for about 8 months, trying to get the war calmed down enough that they can safely leave. Violet and Louis are worried about the other Ericson kids (except Marlon the traitor), and want to get back ASAP so they can help them. Kenny and some other security personal are being sent as back-up for the kids. Especially as its the Delta that kidnapped Violet and Louis. Eleanor is also coming with, as she needs to make sure that the kids are ok.
Oh, and here’s what some of the people look like in this AU (at least mostly, picrew is hard), and their ages! Note: Yes we know that the ages don’t match canon, we change most of the Ericson kids ages in every AU. Oh, and these ages are for when season 4 takes place.
Also, S made a new jacket for Violet!
