➤ he’d be all “no, y/n. i’m totally not going in the rain with you!” then he would go outside to get completely soaked and run back in to give you a wet hug

➤ like, you’d both put those big rubber boots on and kick puddles of water at each other until your pants and completely drenched in water

➤ on the outside, grape tries to look disgusted at the thought of dancing in the rain, but on the inside he’s already jumping in puddles outside
➤ you give his hand a gentle squeeze and promise no one will see, and that’s enough for him to hop off the couch and into a rain jacket
➤ this would totally be one of those cute “i can’t dance” moments where you have to teach grape how to have proper fun in the rain
➤ you’d take his hand in yours and position his hands where they need to be on your body, then when his face is bright red, the two of you would dance prettily in the rain <3

➤ despite his cold exterior, kingsley would absolutely melt if you ask him to dance in the rain with you
➤ at first he’d be practical and try to talk you out of it, offering inside alternatives, but you’d stand your ground. he agrees once you promise to wear a warm rain jacket
➤ only after kingsley is sure that you’re completely bundled up does he let you take his hand and pull him out into the rain
➤ he’s only uncomfortable for a moment, because when he looks over to find you smiling up into the sky, he gets all warm and fuzzy inside
➤ kingsley would be the one to offer his hand to you. he’d pull you into his chest and reach you how to waltz cause he seems like the type to just randomly know how to waltz

Thoughts on Weak Hero's Ending
Weak Hero ended a few weeks ago, and I took some time to process the ending after I read it. Overall, I think it was a great ending to such a wonderfully written series.
I like how things were mostly wrapped up, but left as an open ending. I appreciate how the Union, although mostly defunct, is being kept somewhat alive by Kingsley, who can't accept that Donald is truly gone and that the Union is over. I might write a more detailed Kingsley analysis, but it's interesting how Kingsley, as Donald's right hand man, never fully understood Donald. He placed him on a pedestal and deified him. He did care about him, the most out of everyone, but it is still sad how he got so caught up in making Donald king that he failed to recognise how Donald's rapid ascension and ceaseless violence was a cry for help.
Jake being the one to recognise Donald's true feelings is rather apt. I haven't thought much about his character (as is not fully analysed) but I think he's much more complex than he lets on. He's in a similar situation to both Ben and Donald I think, that being both Ben and Jake are the leaders of their schools, they just want to hang out with their friends and have fun, both shoulder the burden of being the strongest of their schools alone... It's just that Jake has a darkness within him that led him to join the Union. He has an inner bloodlust, one that he recognises in Gray. Jake is very perceptive of others emotional state, so it's no wonder he could correctly guess how Donald was feeling, given that he's one of Donald's most reliable officers.
I'll have to update my Donald analysis soon, because of the revelation that Donald willingly put himself in danger, running in the road screaming for Gray to fight him again. I think on one hand, Donald wanted that connection he felt with Gray again, as well as desiring gray to defeat him. But also I think he felt like death was the only escape left, hence the panel where he had a resigned and accepting expression as the truck neared him. As if he was waiting for his end.
I'm sure the Union will dissolve soon despite Kingsley's efforts. Wolf and Jake have left, and maybe Forrest and Jimmy too. I also like how Jimmy's character arc closed off, with him admitting that all he wanted was to be acknowledged by Donald.
Now then, let's go over to the Eunjang kids!
Although they lost the fight, they won the war. Losing meant they didn't have to bear the burden of being the strongest. Though they may face some fights in the future due to the resulting power gap left in Donald's wake. But that's a story for another time.
Eugene woke up and is happy and well! I really love how despite Eugene thinking he didn't contribute much to the fight, all his friends comforted him and reassured him of his major role thanks to his light controlling device! Yay Eugene appreciation!
Unfortunately Gray was deeply affected by Donald's death and entered a spiral of self guilt... the scene with his reflection mocking him hurt to read. Thankfully his friends were by his side to ground him. Gray really does have a kind heart after all.
Finally, Stephen and Gray meet again! I like the reintroduction of Jeremy, and that he remains a good friend of Gray by telling him Stephen is okay! His reactions to Gray being the White Mamba was so funny to read. I can't express how happy I was to see that not only was Stephen still alive, also that he's all better and working part time at a cafe! Gray's monologue at the end was so touching, and im glad he was able to greet his most treasured friend with a big smile.
I really wanted a Stephen and gray epilogue where they interact, but I do like the happy open ending. I think Stephen would be so happy for Gray and he'd fit right in with the eunjang kids! I guess that's what fan fiction is for lol. (sorry for the lack of weaktober writing... ill try to write something.)
I kinda wish some side characters had more cameos, like Toby, Lily and Julia, but their arcs were wrapped up relatively well too.
That sums up my overall thoughts on Weak Hero's conclusion!

i've been rereading weak hero season 2 since the latest chapter dropped and i have some things to say about donald
spoilers under the cut
okay first of all i am so fucking pissed at seopass😭😭i can't really say much about the storytelling aspect of choosing to allow donald to die but honestly it does feel very sudden and just unfair to his character. perhaps the suddenness is my reaction because all this time it seemed like he just couldn't die, then he had had the whole arc in the final battle where we finally see a vulnerable side of him and get his full backstory, then all of a sudden he dies?? it just feels so incomplete, like the build up was for nothing🙁🙁🙁.
second of all, i'm only realising just how sad his backstory is now that i'm rereading it.
it's not just about his mother being ill, his father being abusive, and being bullied in school but also the loss of innocence in young donald. at first he was so sweet and cute, but by the time he's thirteen, he's also got a whole baby gang going, beating people up and even doing breaking and entering in one instance, taking his step father's money. then he exposes the dirt on his ex teacher and had myles joo and his boys beat him up, and smash his car outside of the school.
it also reminds me of how much donald has grown- now he would never b&e or smash an adult's car so recklessly (though ofc he did it originally knowing he couldn't get the police called on him). though still heavily involved with delinquents, violence and crime, his methods have refined as he grew, and you can see him become more calculated and less uncouth. despite the maturity of his actions at 13, in a way they're still childish, and it's a reminder that even if he's acting tough he's still a baby🙁🙁
while i was glad to watch those people get their comeuppance, i honestly felt so heartbroken watching their callous and flippant nature to crime. like, he literally has a baby face!!! he's like 5'0!!! and he's here stomping people in alleyways and committing burglary?!!! it reminded me of kaz brekker from SOC for some reason, who was innocent and naive till he had to grow up at 12 or 13 and started hustling people in gambling dens and getting in trouble with the law.
it hurts to watch how cruelly he was treated by his teachers and his schoolmates because of his poverty, and how no one did anything about it because it was just normal to them that in a school full of rich kids, it was just a given that donald was considered less than trash. then at night he was kicked out by his step father so he could cheat and drink and he had to wander around yeongdeungpo all on his own in the cold, hungry, and huddle under an apartment block?? ARE YOU JOKING😭😭
he changed so much due to the circumstances of his situation and he grew into something no one should ever have to. he isn't just strong and smart and always five steps ahead becaude of his natural talent (though that definitely helped), but because he had to be. doing badly has never been a choice for him. he needs it to survive. i've always liked donald, and i've always suspected this about his character, but hearing it be confirmed just makes me like him more.
it's so sad realising how everything about him was manufactured to fit his image- his piercings, his hair, his clothes, his tattoos, his image, the way he talks- he didn't even LIKE any of them, but they just became a part of who he was nevertheless. thinking about the way he found his tattoos repulsive when they were all over his body, and were the first things he saw whenever he looked in the mirror must've been so painful to him. but he probably thought being affected by it made him weak so🙁.
and finally, the end where it shows his attachment and love for his inner child who was never loved or taken care by anybody and had to fend for his own. the image of the older donald, covered in tattoos taking care of his small, crying younger self is so powerful😭😭like look at this i wanna kms
i wonder in another life how donald na would turn out if none of these things happened to him🙁🙁he wanted to be a NASA engineer you know🙁🙁🙁😭😭😭he had his own dreams
other things that i noted were that donald actually changes in public a lot. like seriously a lot....first on the rooftop then in the library, like this guy was just stripping at every opportunity.
and also that him not inviting gilshin and jimmy bae into the union was done on purpose as a technique to make them more willing to join? what?? that's so smart😭😭
i also found out this way that myles was a member of the union before it was even called the union?? like they rode together for three years and donald still beat his ass like damn! he is unsentimental.
i'm going to write something about the funeral chapter but that deserves its own post

steam rose out of the hot coffee beside him on the ledge, the sounds and colours of vehicles driving by in the streets below him were muddled by the height. the terrace was empty except for him, the late night meant that not many people were still in the office. were you still here ? he wondered as he rolled up the sleeves of his white office shirt.
he sipped at the coffee, the hot liquid burning the tip of his tongue as he swallowed. the crisp air blew his hair around, making it come out of the neat style he kept it in. he ignored the opening of the heavy door to the terrace, even as heels clicked towards him, he didn't bother to turn around. " kingsley ? " he turned, now leaning his back against the edge.
" you're still here ? " he asked, putting the cup to his lips once more, it had cooled a bit this time. " yeah, i wanted to finish the work i had missed from when i got sick " you sighed coming to lean against his chest, wrapping your arms around his waist. humming he put the cup down, just out of reach and put his hands on your lower back, pushing your body into his.
" it's late so should we go home ? " you mused as you moved away from him. " if that's what you want " he pushed his glasses up into his hair before resting his elbows on the ledge, staring at you with tired eyes. " it's what i want " you mumbled, putting your hands against his chest as his hands came down to rest on your hips. he looked so disheveled tonight with his sleeves rolled up and his hair messy. you couldn't help yourself as you kissed his jaw, leaving kisses down to the collar of his white shirt.
" you have lipstick on " he sighed out, eyes lidded when he pushed your head away. " oh .. i forgot .. " you smiled at him, genuinely having forgotten. " so let's go home quickly " you mindlessly told him, making no move to actually move. you admired your lips imprinted onto his white collar and his skin. he didn't look too bad like this.
a particularly cold breeze blew before you had bothered to move. " it's getting cold, we should go " making a show of yourself as you blew into your hands and rubbed them, holding yourself with your slightly warm hands. " i'll come get you at your department " he told you before taking your hand in his warm one, leading you into the building. the coffee cup forgotten on the terrace ledge.

PLEASE. i need answers😭
so, in the picture above ^ you can see kingsley in the black puffy jacket. right? right. it’s obviously kingsley. he’s right next to jimmy. (also forrest looks like a toothpick here.)
and in this one ^ you can tell that kingsley has joined in the raid or whatever we’re calling it of manwol(he’s right next to jimmy again). his head is literally right above the cutoff for the panel but it’s still his black puffy jacket.
DOES THIS MEAN THAT KINGSLEY CAN FIGHT??? I NEED TO KNOW. WILL WE EVER GET TO SEE HIM THROW HANDS??? HOW STRONG IS HE? WAS IT HIS (possible) FIGHTING CAPABILITIES THAT PUT HIM IN SUCH A CLOSE POSITION TO DONALD?
side note, but i really hope that how kingsley was put as donald’s right hand is explained in the webtoon. i really want to know more about donald and kingsleys relationship.

naw no way Big Ben got kidnapped... Kingsley rly stooped that low to exploit ben's kindness and trap him in a van??? also it's really a testament to his monstrous strength that ben could shake a huge van like that like damn.
also like how the latest free chapter pointed out how Gerard is like the 2nd in command taking charge in Ben's absence. Alex is ngl just there as a sidekick.
Donald will not be happy about this, because im sure he's the kind of character who would want to fight a fair battle of strength and see how far Ben has come for himself.

FDHKFV okay I really can't help but overanalyze this look. Donald just asked him if Ben didn't show up to the fight because of Kingsley, and Kingsley here just nods with this like....I don't even know how to describe it!! He looks kind of hopeful, like maybe Donald will understand and maybe he did the right thing after all.
But obviously, Donald tells him to step up (to receive these HANDS) and Kingsley knows Donald isn't happy with his decision after all. But this panel kinda breaks my heart, on behalf of Kingsley, who just wanted to help Donald.
