How about protective Gil in the Doctor AU? 👀
Baaaaaaaaaaaaaby will you come pick us up peas?
Gil smiles at the text again as he parks and walks up to the bar. Thena agreed to go out with Ajak and some of the other nurses from the ER for someone's birthday. Usually she's too tired and cranky to really keep up with the voracity of the nursing staff, but she really gave it a try tonight.
He walks into the bar, giving the bartender a wave and pointing towards the back. At this point, it's mostly the hardcore crowd left, the young ones having left for trendier or cheaper locations.
"Gil!"
"Hi ladies," he chuckles as the gaggle of nurses celebrates his mere arrival. "I got the distress call."
"It's so sweet of you to pick us up," Ajak stands and flits over to him. She's obviously buzzed, but everyone else seems borderline blackout. It's really a testament to her tolerance. She hiccups and pats his arm, "we said 'let's get an uber' and Thena said no, I have someone better."
Gil blushes.
"She said Gil'll come riiiiiiight over," Ajak continues to coo at him, "her knight in shining harmour."
"That's me," he smiles obligingly, letting Ajak giggle over it. He looks at the two other nurses who lasted this long, lying on the table and ready for bed. "Where's Thena?"
Ajak furrows her brows, physically counting the other two at the table. She looks at Gil with a pout.
"I'll find her."
Gil walks briskly, looking for any spot of blonde in the bar he can see. If Ajak is buzzed then it's likely Thena is as drunk as the other two. She doesn't really have a tolerance anymore, and usually she would have called it quits long ago.
He turns a corner and risks hanging around the bathrooms, listening for her. He pulls out his phone.
"Lookin' for someone, handsome?"
"Girlfriend," he says point blank, sending the woman off. He holds his phone away from his ear so he can hear Thena's ringing. He sighs, rolling his eyes, switching tactics.
The familiar beep of her buzzer is much easier to hear.
"What the hell is that?"
"It's my pager," a voice growls/slurs from off in the corner. "S'for the hosp'al."
"Right, you're like a nurse, right?"
Gil follows the fractured conversation to probably the deepest, darkest corner of the bar. Thena is trying to walk back into the more lit end of the corridor, but the guy next to her keeps pulling her back into the shadows with him.
"Hey!"
The guy looks back at Gil, not too concerned with his very concerning behaviour. He's done this before. "Hey man, I'm just takin' the lady home."
"Oh really?" Gil glares at him.
"Yeah, she's had one too many, so," he shrugs.
"So," Gil comes right up to him, "you were just gonna...take advantage of her when she's too drunk to consent--is that it?"
The guy rolls his eyes at Gil (the fucking nerve). "Come on, dude, don't be that prick."
"Baby!"
The guy turns a comical shade of white as Thena finally gives up on trying to read what was paged to her and throws her arms around Gil's neck. She snuggles into him gleefully. "Uh-"
"Hey hon," Gil speaks softly against her temple. She really is drunk, although at least she's more conscious than the two nurses in Ajak's care. He wraps his arm around her waist, "sorry I'm late."
Thena giggles, looking up at him with glassy eyes. "I knew you'd come and get us."
"Shit," the stranger curses. He tries to move but Gil is in his way. "Look, she didn't mention a boyfriend."
"Did so," Thena whines, "I said my husb'n is pickin' ussup."
"Sweetie, stay right here, okay?" Gil kisses her cheek and helps her lean against the counter outside the bathrooms. Once she's stable he grabs the guy by the shirt and pushes them backwards into bathroom. "We're gonna chat."
"Look, this is-"
Gil winds up and punches the guy full force. "You don't say a fuckin' word."
He can't anymore, his lip is cut and he's barely conscious after one punch.
Gil marches him all the way to the back wall, throwing him against it. "Y'know what I should do with scum like you?"
The guy sputters and coughs on the blood in his mouth. His tooth tumbles out, "y-you can't-"
"Oh, I can," Gil snarls at him, shaking him by the shirt to knock his head against the back of the wall. "I'm not doctor, so as far as I'm concerned, I don't have any reason not to beat you to death in here."
The guy pisses.
Gil huffs, tossing him down and stepping away. He likes these shoes. "I'm gonna let the staff know you're in here. And if you ever show your face around my wife ever again, I'll finish what I started in here."
Thena is still leaning outside, waiting for him. She looks up with the same enthusiasm, as if registering he's here for the first time. "Baby!"
Gil smiles, pulling her into his arms and inhaling the scent of her hair. "You're too beautiful for your own good, sweetheart. I'm gonna have to keep a better eye on you."
"Okay," she sighs, happy to agree to it while she snuggled into the front of his hoodie. "Can we go home?"
"Of course, baby," he kisses her forehead and lets her lean heavily on him as he walks back into the main bar. He waves to Ajak, "I got her!"
"Let's move out, team!" Ajak declares, although she has to pinch the other two nurses to rouse them. That being said, once they're awake, they do shoot to their feet with frightening speed and stability.
"Hey," Gil waves to the bartender again. "There's a guy in the bathroom, someone beat him up pretty badly. I heard he spiked someone's drink, though. You should probably keep an eye out if he tries to come in again."
The bartender accepts it at face value. Gil has been in here enough as a medic for other barflies that he doesn't get questioned about it. That asshole will never be allowed in here again.
Thena looks at Gil, all of her brain power going into putting two and two together, "did...did you beat him up?"
Gil laughs; she's cute when she's tipsy. "Don't tell anyone."
She sighs and slumps against him again, "I won't."
They hit the open air and immediately a few of them are walking straighter. Gil unlocks the car from a distance, "doors are open, ladies. Back's free, but-"
"Don't worry," Ajak laughs, herding the other two across the street, "we'll leave the front for your lady love!"
Gil shakes his head; they're really not as out and official as Ajak makes it seem. He looks at Thena beside him, though, "you okay, honey?"
Thena really thinks about the answer. "Hm...missed you."
Gil smiles, kissing her forehead again, "I missed you too, love. Did you have a good time, at least?"
Thena nods, her steps getting smaller and slower, "it was nice. But they're tooooooooo much for me."
"I think they're too much for me too," he concedes. He loops Thena's arm around his neck and sweeps her up into his hold, carrying her the rest of the way. "It's okay. We'll get you home and in bed and I'll make you a nice hangover cure tomorrow."
"'Kay," Thena happily presses her face into his shoulder. "You're good at bein' a husb'n."
Gil kisses her forehead again, "I've been your husband for a while now--I hope I'm good at it."

Day 2 - First Kiss
Posted on ao3 with the title “I’d rather be dry (but at least I’m alive)”
““It’ll be fine,” he said. “It’s not going to rain at all,” he said. “WE WON’T GET SOAKED AT ALL,” HE SAID,” Thena ranted, gesturing wildly with her hands.
“I’m sorry! I must’ve looked at the wrong day!” Kingo said, trying to defend himself.
“No shit,” Ikaris deadpanned.
“Excuse me, but my CHILD is here.” Phastos glared at Ikaris.
I just wanted to eat my sandwich in peace but then the world just went “Nope. Abso-fucking-lutely d e n i e d”, Makkari complained with a dramatic flair of her wrists.
“Hey Ikaris, how about you fly up there and fight a cloud,” Druig suggested, desperately trying to fight back his laughter.
“Can’t fly, dumba- idiot.”
“That’s it. I’m just going to call an Uber,” Kingo said as he surrendered, throwing his arms up in the air and later pulling his phone out of his pocket.
“Can I go with you?” Ajak asked, her damp hair clinging to her face.
“Sure. Anyone else?”
“I’m not walking out here anymore,” Sprite said, holding her soaked hood above her head.
“Can we join too?” Sersi asked.
“You can, but not Ikaris.”
“I might actually throw YOU into the sky instead of Druig.”
“Fine. You can go too.”
“Good idea on calling an Uber,” Ben said as he took his phone out of his pocket.
“You’re not coming with us?” Kingo asked.
“We’re a family of three and you guys are already trying to shove five people in a car,” Phastos deadpanned.
Can we go with you? Makkari asked for both herself and Druig.
“I guess we’re cramming five people into another car,” Phastos mumbled.
“Thena? Gil? Who are you going with?” Kingo asked.
“I’ll walk in the rain. I’m not a pussy,” Thena said, earning a loud laugh from Gilgamesh.
“Jack, earmuffs,” Phastos said to his son. Jack covered his ears with his hands, imitating earmuffs. “Thena, what the hell? Even Ikaris was able to restrain himself!”
“Oh, so you can swear?” Druig said, sounding slightly agitated.
“Say something like that one more time and you’ll lose the ability to say anything,” Thena said while glaring at Phastos, which earned a laugh from Druig.
“This is why she’s my favorite. Well, my favorite after my beautiful, beautiful Makkari,” Druig said, giving his girlfriend a warm smile and a light peck to the forehead.
“Okay, seriously, how long has that been going on for?” Phastos asked, wildly gesturing to the couple.
“About five days,” Kingo replied.
“Shut your mouth,” Druig said as he glared at the man.
“So mean…”
The Ubers arrived a few minutes later and the others were gone. Thena and Gilgamesh were left to walk alone in the rain.
“You wanted to take the Uber, didn’t you?”
“No.”
“Why?”
“I just want to be with you.” Hearing that made Gil’s blood rush to his cheeks. “Also, my house isn’t too far from here anyway.”
Gil looked at the street sign. “Hm, I guess I wasn’t paying any attention,” he said with a chuckle.
The two walked slowly in silence for a bit. Thena let her head rest against one of Gil’s broad shoulders.
“Thank you,” Thena said out of nowhere. “For walking me home,” she added a few seconds later.
“No need to thank me; I’m always happy to spend time with you, even if it’s short like this,” Gil said, earning a warm smile from Thena.
About a minute later, Gil looked to the side and at Thena, who was still smiling. Her face was wet and her hair was drenched.
Why does she have to be so beautiful? Gil asked himself before blushing deeply and shaking his head as if to banish the thought.
Before either of them knew it, they were walking up to Thena’s front door. She fished into her pocket and retrieved her keys. She put the key in the door and opened it.
“If you want, you can stay until the rain passes,” Thena offered.
“It’s fine, I have some work to get done so I need to head back to my hotel room anyway.”
“Stop by tomorrow?”
“Of course!”
Thena walked back out and gave Gil a goodbye hug. After a few seconds, they pulled apart. When they pulled apart, Thena didn’t go back into her house. They both stared deeply into each other’s eyes. Eventually, Thena’s eyes drifted down to Gil’s lips. She placed a hand on Gil’s cheek and stood on the tips of her toes. She tilted her head and leaned in, placing and long and soft kiss on his lips and making his eyes widen. Gil then returned her kiss, still surprised at Thena’s sudden action. She wrapped her arms around his neck. One of her hands later made it into his hair as his hands drifted to her back. The rain continued to beat down on them as their need for each other increased. They pulled apart, breathing heavily and lips still centimeters away from each other’s.
After catching their breaths, they went back in. This time, their kisses were filled with hunger. Before anything could escalate to a point beyond return, they pulled away. They stayed close to each other for a little while, breaths mingling in the air between them.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” Thena said as she walked back into her house. She shut her door, leaving a dumbfounded Gilgamesh out in the rain on her doorstep.
Who could have known Thena felt the same way? he thought before he walked away from her front door.

Finally got around to watching the Eternals, so spoilers I guess if you haven’t seen it.
Tumblr media
First of all, the quizzes I took that say I’m a mixture of Dan Whitman and Sersi… accurate as fuck. I adore them both very much.
Gotta say, I’m kinda jealous of whatever gender Sprite has going on. But in all honesty I feel bad for them. Kingo’s whole Peter Pan speech actually made me feel bad. When Sprite said “Why did Arishem make me this way?” I actually choked up a bit. Like I’m so sorry he failed you kiddo. I’ve thought about it many times when I think about vampire lore, but imagine how much it would suck to be seen as a child for all eternity. When you’re literally thousands of years older than anyone currently around you.
Fucking Gilgamesh was the light of my fucking life. He is the best part of this movie and I will die on that fucking hill. It’s bullshit what they did to him. Ajax didn’t hit me that hard because we don’t get to know her nearly as much. But god fucking Damn it, give me my boy back.
Side note, I don’t really like Kingo that much. I just don’t think our personalities gel well. In all honestly, despite how much talent he clearly has, I’m not really a fan of any of that actors characters. I just don’t like the way his character didn’t take anything seriously.
Thena killed me. I’m a sucker for all Angelina Jolie characters. But imagine slowly loosing your mind and being forced to try and kill the people you love most in the world. Especially after she lost Gil, like what the duck, can she live? Can she fucking live? I wanna give my baby girl a hug.
I don’t think I have to say much about Druig, I think we all knew I’d love him. I wanna it’s Barry Keoghan. I’ve been mimicking his stupid adorable accent this whole movie! I think mind control is always one of those powers I’d be truly terrified to have. Like he tried to use them to protect people, and do the right thing. But talking away free will isn’t right. Also the way he flirts with Makkari 🥺 I want that.
I’ll make Phatos and Sersi quick. They are Both adorable and I love them and I wish them nothing but happiness. Like Phatos and his husband and his loiter boy were so cute. God I could watch a whole movie just of them interacting. I love to see POC characters being in the main action!
Least favorite is Ikaris. I hate his stupid smug face, and that silly little hair cut. White boy coming in here and ruining the vibes. Sure his power is kinda cool or whatever. But like even before the twist of the movie, I didn’t like him from the second he showed up. Sersi and Dan are perfect, and Ikaris needs to keep his nose out of their business. Get over her man. Gross.
Now to my favourite character ever. MAKKARI! My sweet baby girl. One she’s literally the hottest person I’ve ever seen, both physically and in personality. Oh my god and the way she signs is mesmerising. I kept reminding the movie just to watch her hands move. I will always love a character who knows sign language, and I think the representation is super important.
If you guys would like any Eternal fics or headcannons let me know. Because I feel cool writing them now that I have seen their cannon interpretations outside of the comics alone.

Out of the Woods

Tumblr media
tags: angsty, smutty, rated 18+ nsfw, extreme non-con/dub con, gaslighting, mind control, manipulative dark druig, reader is in internal torment, lots of conflict, the eternals are not good guys either!, heavy in plot, star wars reference, druig is an unreliable narrator!!!!!
word count: 5,000+
i made druig op as fuck here. dedicated to @twopercentmilk, who literally fuels me to write more, always grateful reading ur asks! see more notes at the end!
Present Day Amazon “Please, make yourselves at home,” Druig welcomes the familiar faces walking towards him. He’s got a smug smile, proudly showing off the small-scaled civilisation he had constructed hidden underneath the towering trees of the Amazon rainforest. “To what do I owe the pleasure?” His dark robe hangs loosely around his body, swaying to the wind as he strides further with leaves making a crunching sound for each step taken.  Ikaris looks at him unimpressed. Sersi, Sprite, Gil, Thena, Kingo, and a mortal alongside were ready to explain why. Druig holds up an index finger in front of them signalling for them to stay still and then closing his eyes before expressing his previous statement differently, “Let me rephrase it. Why do you need my help in all this?” He admits he didn’t hesitate in reading their minds. Sersi’s first to be exact. The sheer amount of worry and panic he had been sensing from her energy was impossible to ignore.  “Why the worry, Sersi?” Druig simpers, leaning closer to her, with his arms resting behind his back.
Sersi returns the stare, unable to form the right words to respond to him. The short second pause was enough of an answer for him at the moment. Druig didn’t want to cause a scene, in spite of being beyond the wilderness already. He doesn’t wait for her to answer before turning around, facing right back at the entrance of his boxy wooden outhouse he had build with the villagers entrapped in the forest. His fingers waved, beckoning his friends to follow him to walk straight ahead. They all gathered inside, dramatically setting a more private overtone. “I know you guys hate it when I use my powers on these mortals... Or to anyone at all” Druig mocks, the latter part more subdued in tone, looking specifically at Sersi whom he had sensed became more fond of the human world and its population.  Privacy wasn’t an issue for them. They could take this impending discussion whenever and wherever they wanted to. His powers were one summon away from controlling the people working around their surroundings, so as they wouldn’t be able to eavesdrop whatever concern they have to solve later on.  His friends took separate seats among the wooden benches laid all over across the room. Druig, however, still stood confidently, along the middle of the aisle where he could easily walk towards any one of them. “You’re the only one with the potential to put a Celestial to sleep,” Sersi explains. Druig’s head turns to her, face directly staring with a questioning raised brow. “And why would I want to participate in this? It’s essentially a suicide mission, if you ask me.” “We can’t do it without your help,” “Hmm...” “Come on, Druig. You’re better than this.” “Yeah, and I just learned my whole life, existence, and purpose was a lie as well. What will I gain from all of this?” Kingo cuts in the middle of the conversation, defending, “You’re really expecting something to benefit from this?” ”And why shouldn’t I?” He could see the rest of his friends practically look in disgust at him. “I don’t know... Probably saving the billions of people on this planet can clear out your conscience for once in a while. Maybe you could gain something from that,” Kingo continues his statement, imposing a guilt feeling that still wasn’t entirely apprehending nor convincing for their fellow mind controlling Eternal. “You’re sick,” Sersi spat out in distate, “you’ve barely changed at all.” “Yeah?” The tone is Druig’s voice steadily rises, bringing out a well embedded rage he had snubbed for the past few centuries while looking for a place to settle. “You’re all no different from me...” He adds, “You guys are just as selfish as you think of me as repulsive.” All of their expressions shift from being provoked to apologetic. Druig, and the rest of his friends, expected their ongoing argument would lead to this. No one could blame where he was coming from as well.  The room had been put into an awkward silence, which well enough spoke volume. For the most part, Druig took advantage of the situation, knowing well he wasn’t going to allow them to paint him utterly as the villain— for the second time. “Did I hit a nail?” He taunts to everyone, looking from one face of the room to the other.  For all the centuries that had passed, he learned that in times like this it was best to utilize the conversation to his own advantage. He couldn’t allow them to step on his own decisions anymore. He wouldn’t take its consequences. “Are you playing victim here, Druig?” Ikaris throws in, intrinsically adding fuel to the fire. “Fuck off.”  “Looks like I hit a nerve as well—” “Okay! Calm down!” If it weren’t for Kingo and Gil, Druig definitely would’ve stormed to beat Ikaris in the face. But he was held back, instantly deliberating that a fight against him wouldn’t be worth it.  “Let’s all not get on each other’s throats now,” Sersi calls out, realizing it was best that they were to step in and be the bigger person in this. It was the only way to settle a truce. “Druig, we’re really sorry.”  “Yeah?” He scoffs. “Yes—” “Sorry doesn’t fucking cover it.” Sersi, much like the rest, looks taken aback by his reaction. “Now you’re just acting childish.” “Welcome to my world,” he sardonically retorts, “it’s all going to go downhill here and thereon.” No one wanted to speak up. Not for the fear of how their friend would react again, but because of the realization that they’re slowly and emphatically starting to understand where Druig was coming from— not out of spite, but from hurt. “Now you guys want my help to save something dearest to you?” Druig bellows, “You’re now only understanding what it feels like to fear losing something or someone you value profoundly?” “...Where was all of this centuries ago?” His voice dims, almost cracking, feeling exposed and vulnerable in front of them for that hint of weakness he had just played out. Close as she can get, Sersi tried to place a consoling hand on his shoulder but was immediately dismissed with a shake. “We thought that during that time, it was for the best. But we do regret what we did.” “Oh spare me the pity, Sersi. Your judgment has been biased ever since then. You pretend you're morally correct only when you think it can be used to your own advantage or personal benefit. You never considered nor compromised with me at all!” Druig didn’t try to cover his indisposition anymore. He had no one to hide his pain from. He looks up with weak mournful eyes before saying, “... I hope all of you never get to bear the torment of emotions on how it feels like to be helpless and lost.” ⌞ °   •        •   °   ⌟ 5000 BC Mesopotamia. Druig was beguiled the moment you, along with the rest of the Eternals have departed from inside the Domo. Between both your first encounter with each other, you caught him for staring longer than usual, returning with a quick glance and smile. Both of you shared the small points in time just as human civilization was still underdeveloped. Most of the mortals in the planet lived off from fishing, solely finding motif to survive— nothing more or less. He made sure to look after you. Both by making sure you were never placed in grave danger from Deviants, as well as welcoming himself into your thoughts. He never wanted to sense torment from you, because he would feel the same agony too. For most of the premature years the Eternals shared on Earth, all of you had to wield different powers granted by the Celestial Arishem. Committing to the chore of protecting people from Deviant was embedded into your mind. It was the only path given to the entire crew, and none of you knew better than to obey. For the betterment of mankind, per se. Soon enough, all your powers started to reveal their uniqueness amongst the others. This granted more potential to compromise as a team, knowing well each Eternal was gifted, yet none of you considered yourselves to be better than the other. Ajak had regenerating powers aside from her abilities to communicate with powerful Celestials. Phastos was literally a king of technological advancements. Kingo manipulates cosmic energies within the tips of his fingers. Sprite could form illusions no matter the range. Thena summons any weapon in the palm of her hand. Gil basically had an iron fist with super strength abilities. Sersi transforms any inanimate shapes of matter into another element. Ikaris had flight and laser beams shooting from his sight. And Druig was able to control the minds whoever and whenever he wanted to.  You learned that your own sets of powers authorized you to manipulate force gravities, specifically dark and negative powers. You could still control your abilities within broad daylight, but you realized you could only reach your powers maximum potential when compromised with negative forces.  It initially seemed like a curse. Why give someone the power that seems fundamentally antagonistic? You badly wanted to adapt to your group. Matching their own energies as they learn their own combative skills and power moves. In view point, after learning the origins of dark arts, you could essentially posses certain gravitational and extra dimensional energies— majorly discerned in highly opaque areas that equate to the void. It enabled you to channel certain types of dark shadows into your systematic strength; furthermore, allowing you to manipulate time, emotions, and common objects either inanimate or living. For the mean time, you watched your group save hundreds of individuals as the years go by and population tends to increase. While you didn’t try to get under the pressure of being compared to them, you felt more and more helpless. Seeing that as you feel one step closer to getting to know your powers, you simultaneously appear three steps behind on the capability the rest of the Eternals had. Each of them grew mightier and fiercer.  But you still felt leashed under to your own abilities. You did help as much as you could, in ways such as creating destructive pain to Deviants clashing in the middle of the way. Being a walking ball of darkness felt like a threatening title that you yourself had no constraint over. “That’s enough,” Ajak practically had to call your attention and your focus hardly yielded to it. “I said that’s enough,” She had to repeat it twice before finally summoning you back distinctly. The glow in your eyes faded away, only drifting back into reality when your head turned to her. You looked in front seeing a Deviant completely abolished into pieces, barely even recognizing how disfigured it turned out to be. You didn’t know how much of your power was used against it nor how strong it affected the destruction process.  Everyone shared glances, back and forth, between you and the Deviant you demolished lifelessly and brutally.  “I’m sorry. I didn’t...” you frowned, nearly tearing up at how wicked you appeared to them amidst the fight, “I don’t know what got into me.” Even more, what you realized was that, for most times during battles, you get carried away while bringing about your abilities. It was as if your magical powers were using you, instead of the opposite. * “Are you feeling better?” You spotted nobody except for Druig, who came to look after you took some time to take flight somewhere a bit farther across the location the Domo was stationed on. The sky was dark and you were relying in front on the fire you made to illuminate your surroundings. You hated starting straight in the night sky. It felt like you were gazing directly at something that resembles yourself. And it didn’t leave a great sense of esteem, more on feeling sick to your gut. “Yeah,” you respond. “Do you mind if I sit next to you?” He remains distant, standing meters away with his arms tucked behind his figure.  “Why?” He takes a few steps closer before shrugging. “Figured you needed the company.” You didn’t reply. Not knowing if he was right or that you actually wanted to be alone for the mean time. However, Druig takes the silence as a form of agreement. Before you had the will to tell him to scram, he takes the vacant spot next to you and positions himself to a sitting position alike yours.  You didn’t feel the need to talk. Originally you were already enjoying the silence by yourself, knowing you wouldn’t be forced to harm someone within the vicinity, knowing there weren’t any mortals within a mile away. But Druig decided otherwise.  “Did you know I can read minds as well?” Your face remained unimpressed, but you kindly did return the conversation. “I didn’t yet I’m not surprised. That must seem nice.” “It does. I’m still adjusting to my telepathic abilities.” He smiles. “Well, I’m happy for you.” And you did genuinely mean it. “Really?” He prods, “Because I sense more worry from you. Do you mean it?” “I'm telling the truth, Druig...” you’re taken aback at his hesitance. You appreciated the concern, but at the same time you didn’t want anyone dictating your emotions.  You further explain, “Being happy doesn’t mean you can’t feel sadness too. I’m sure you can feel both at once.” Druig raises his chin slightly, taking in what you said and then agreeing, “Point taken.” As if he had learned something new tonight. And he was glad he picked it off from you. “...Well then, what are you sad about?” “Did you really just come find me only to pry at my thoughts and feelings? That isn’t very nice of you,” you scowl instinctively. You weren’t consciously thinking straight when you decided to call him out instantly like that. You liked to blame it on your powers and its tendencies to bring out the savage parts of you— but you knew well than to make excuses for it. Instead, it sends you spiraling into worry. Knowing you’re still too weak to handle the darkness. “My mistake. I never intended to pry,” he apologizes, “I just hate seeing you underrate yourself like this.” “Like what?” “I can sense your emotions from a mile away, darling.”  Internally, you freeze at his endearment. You maintained a scowl, thankful that he wouldn’t see you fluster over him because of the nightfall. “Isn’t that being invasive?” You clarified, but the tone in your voice was more curious than it was irritated. “Not if you’re the one manifesting your own feelings. You’re practically a beaming ray of distress,” he says, “I’m just concerned for you.” Momentarily you frown, unaware that the negative energy radiates stronger than you expected. Not only has it swathed over you, but it has also began reaching to the others in the group. You warily nod at his explanation. “Hmm... I guess I appreciate the gesture.” Druig smiles, finally pleased at the progress of you slowly welcoming him into your thoughts. “Now,” he leads off, “care to tell me what’s going on in that pretty little head of yours?” * From thereon you started opening up to him more. He was the only person who truly showed how he wanted to understand you more, having to do with not only your powers but getting to know your personality as well. On top of it, he didn’t leave the discourse completely one sided. In exchange with your ideas and sentiments, he introduced the potentials of what his power holds. From time to time, he gains more information from you which he always deems significant. By letting yourself pour out the concealed internal struggles you had, the weight forcing against your chest felt lighter than before. The more it boosted your esteem and confidence, the less you feared the darkness swirling in your core. Not once did Druig make you feel like you were seen as someone tied alongside a demonic figure. Contrast to it, he actually helped you differentiate yourself from it. He sensed that you’ve always linked yourself beneath its shadows, which was why you seemed manipulated by it. You didn’t suffer as much as you did before. Seen as someone to be feared. Your dark forced sorcery didn’t define who you were wholly anymore. You, instead, started to feel like you belonged with the group. Much more accepting yourself too.  Both of you were laying flat on the sand— closely beside one another, the back of your heads resting on your palms with shoulders stretched and elbows resting— while watching the stars above the night sky. This has become your usual routine ever since that night he approached you.  Fortunately, a lot has changed in the course of time. You were rational— almost entirely clearheaded nowadays, barely fearing the absence of light like how you did years ago. You found comfort in the magic you were gifted with. “So you’re telling me, you've been helping me control my powers?” Your eyes broke off from staring above, face turning to the side to look at Druig. You were all in smiles as years pass by, seeing the drastic impact he has over you. He nods with a humbling smile, “Yes.” “Are you putting me like under your mind control spells? Or is it rather different than your usual capabilities?” “It’s hard to explain. But I promise I’m not mind controlling you completely, just a part of your brain to help keep yourself curb with the void.” “Should I take that as a good or bad thing?” “Depends...” He beckons, “What do you think?” From his side, your voice softens as you inch your face closer to him. “I think...” “...It’s a good thing,” you whisper, delighted at last before sealing the gap between the pairs of your lips.
1521 AD Tenochtitlan.  Compared to the beginning of civilization, humans have advancement by this time, specifically with their weapons. Emotions have developed both positively and negatively. Love grew evident, taking part of the beauty and appreciation between humans and the things that surround them. It allowed development and collaborations, leading to underlying factors such as attraction, protection, intensity, and trust. All these sinking not only to mortals but to the Eternals as well— especially intimacy and codependency. On the other hand, the dark side also had its chance to arise along with it. There have been hindrances caused by jealousy, pride, and greed. This has introduced the concept of war and murder, which were truly heartbreaking to watch from a perspective.  None of you could interfere, as per the Celestials commands. The torment affected Druig. And the darkness slowly returned to devour you too.  Ironically, your mental state began to degrade from your intense fear for what may blindly come at you. But Druig became more and more unhinged, acknowledging that he can feel your emotions together with the humans by tenfold. “It hurts,” you cry. Tears were barely forming around your eyes, but your throat and upper body felt like it was being clawed into pieces. Both of you were hiding in the middle of the forest, unexpected of how the night was going to unfold prior to this. You gripped around his wrist, nails almost digging into his skin forming crescent marks he had dealt with from you before. Your chest tightened, barely allowing you to breath as you tried your best to control the negative forces that had been emanating since the start of warfare among the land.  “I know,” he grieves for everyones pain. “Please help me make it stop.” Your eyes pleading at his while he frowns. “I need you.” Druig hesitated for a moment, though eventually and willfully taking it as an opportunity to confuse your vulnerability and attachment as permission to assume control. He wanted to make up an excuse. The darkness you were exhibiting was muddling with his own demons, tempting to expose his deepest and darkest secrets to the surface like bait. He didn’t want to see you writhing in anguish and panic anymore. And he felt you didn’t wish for the suffering anymore either. You were spiraling into a rabbit hole of a mess as your face could barely look straight back at Druig, absurdly turning from one side to another while you screamed. Your brain felt like it was being smashed forcibly and horribly into a pulp. Druig had no other choice than to distract you from the discomfort. He took your vulnerable state to his full advantage. His fingers enclosed around your wrists, pinning them down to the ground, then goes on top of you, his strength trying to match with your manic state— almost entirely restraining your body. He tries to use his powers, eyes instantly illuminating to gold trying to get into the depths of your thoughts and finally authorize his control. The surge of power dominates him like a quench of thirst in a hot desert region. He never expected it would feel like this. Though he wouldn’t deny the fact that he had been dreaming for a moment like this to come along. Between the two of you, sharing this point affliction and pain had become something sacred. There was passionate level of exchange in intimacy Druig couldn’t elaborate thoroughly. He was just thankful that his powers were effective on your struggle. “Please…” The shift in your voice was clear, tears slowly blur your vision before spilling down your cheeks. “Please don’t hurt me.” Your sobs weren’t direct to the pain your powers were causing anymore. Druig knew that. He detected every inch of your thoughts, much so what you felt. Yet he made sure you weren’t the one deciding for yourself anymore. He waited for years. Anticipated that you would actually get better. Maybe both of you could rule the world with your powers combined. For all that, he was disappointed that he never helped unveil your maximum potential on your own. Though it wasn’t a problem for him. He’s been patient up until this point. You needed him. Completely.  Your tears were for him now.  “I’m hurt that you would think of me that way, darling,” he whispers, face leaning overly close to your ear. “I’m trying to help you here.” He’s steadily overpowering you and you felt ashamed that you couldn’t defend your feelings nor your body beneath him. You didn’t know if you wanted this, everything was seemed messy and you weren’t in the headspace for anything that happens further. Did you really wanted this? Was this for the best? Does Druig intend on helping you manage the pain? No matter how much you pondered over this scene, it doesn’t negate the fact that you’re too late to change what may come along. Your gut felt disgusted and he probably had figured that out. He gives you a look that twists your stomach like a knife that has impaled through it. Like you really had hurt his feelings by doubting him and his actions. But you didn’t want this... Or did you? “I’m s-sorry!” You bleat. His hands sneak under your aztec skirt. The length of it dropping down to your ankles. But he didn’t so much as struggle when his fingers settled to draw it upwards over your abdomen, exposing the skin of your lower body— defenseless and bare. He ensures to peel off any articles of clothing that comes across his way. “You can be difficult to deal with sometimes; you know that right?” His voice just as smooth as his movements. His body setting apart a wide space between your inner thighs he can welcome himself in. “...You’re really, really fortunate to have me. Lots of other people wouldn’t put up with you like this— always being emotional and out of control. You’re lucky I’m the only person left who can understand why you act this way.” Eventually, your headspace became more and more unstable. Thoughts were too clouded, barely registering if who was right between you and Druig. All that you could do was surrender yourself physically to him, hoping that eventually the mental anguish can compensate for the trauma. His lips plant soft kisses on the crook of your neck, conflicting from the aggressiveness he’s exhibiting as he groped and grasped your hips down to the ground. “Oh, poor thing,” he cooed, “Writhing little mess.” You didn’t know why you haven’t blacked out from all this. You were terrified and your mind wanted to shut down badly. Albeit, you figured it was Druig mind controlling you not to pass out from any of this. He didn’t want you to miss out seeing him harness his powers over you. “Seeing you getting you worked up over this,” he groans before sliding himself inside your cunt. “Fuck you’re so hot.”  Instinctively, your arms extend and hands reach to grip over his shoulders. Your eyes flutter at the pace of his thrusts and hips slamming against yours. You wanted to seal your eyes shut from all the pleasurable sensations. You didn’t want to look at him in the eye, ashamed of how your body was reacting agreeably to his touch. The air was cold, but the exchange between your bodies felt heated. You were confused, wanting to vomit. Forcing your body to squirm further beneath him, you tried to gather enough strength to push him off, or at get away from his chokehold. But you failed, miserably while at it. Dried leaves rustling around as it served as a cushion from the rocky ground. He pins you down with a weight, trying to simmer you down from your state of horror.  “Shh, shh.” He mumbles into your cheek, “I’m not gonna hurt you. Don’t you trust me...” “Druig, please—” The back of your throat felt like it was set on fire. “...I trust you— so fucking much,” he groans, pacing a relentless rhythm as he bucks his hips back and forth.  Your lips quivered at the sight of him. He continues to chase his release, leaving sloppy kisses under your jaw. His hand curls around your waist, finishing inside you with a pained moan.  “You’re alright. I understand better than anyone else.” “I’m scared.” “You don’t have to be,” he consoles, “you have everything you need. Me.” You swore you heard him say, “You’re mine” somewhere along the line. But it didn’t help ease the feeling that you felt trapped. Again. Just like how you were under your powers before. You gasp for breaths, hands falling beside on the ground with fingers twitching. Your ears rang before darkness swarms all over your vision and sets in. * Druig stares at your unconscious body. Collapsed from the shock he had put you in.  He felt guilty. Deserved to be. But he knew everything came at a cost. He was doing this for the best. You were never going to value yourself as much as he did. No one will be willing enough to show you what you can and can’t do. Only he had the power over you and he surely claimed those rights long ago before anyone realized it. He patiently waited for this time to come. He didn’t expect it to come so soon, honestly, maybe anticipating it after a few thousand more years or so. But he was thankful nonetheless.  All Druig wanted to do know was escape, together carrying your lifeless figure. Both of you could rule your own little civilization without the rest of the Eternals hindering authority.  What he didn’t expect was Thena suffering under Mahd Wy'ry simultaneously from the time he plans both your exit. He was so distracted from getting you under his control that he didn’t realize that the Goddess of War had created a commotion just a few miles away from where he held you down. It was doomed fate. Sersi found him first, exhausted and out of breath carrying your body in front with both his arms supporting your back and legs. ”What are you doing?” She asks He didn’t mean to drop you to the ground. But he knew he was outnumbered if he decided to put up a fight. Neither was Sersi imperceptive of what was happening. Druig always felt her suspicious on him, especially whenever he became too fond of you prior to these years. He was so close to having it all. He didn’t know what part of his plan went wrong. And it just went downhill from there. “What did you do, Druig?” ⌞ °   •        •   °   ⌟ Present Day Amazon “So do we have a deal?” He puts forward in front of the familiar faces that brings about the feeling of betrayal from centuries ago. “Fine.” Sersi hesitates, reflecting if she will regret this decision later on. Druig could hear her thoughts loud and clear. He was waiting for her to willingly make up her mind, just to save him for future trouble and to avoid history from repeating itself— like what happened back in Tenochtitlan. The other Eternals watch as she deliberately makes the decision for them, as an entire group. He didn’t want any of them interfering with his future plans from here on and out. All he looked forward to now was seeing your face without the strain of hiding.  “We won’t hold you back after you’ve helped us put the Celestial to sleep,” she says. He didn’t have to fear anyone and you were under no one’s control anymore. Only his, under him.  “We have a deal.”
a/n: thank you for reading! this has got to be one of my favorite works. dark force manip was a star wars reference and im an avid fan of the franchise! (kylo ren wh*re here) hope you liked this one! it was really heavy in plot and conflict. i love reading novels and i tried to add my own literary devices in my writing— just starting off by druig being an unreliable narrator! there were so many concepts intentionally left unelaborated and ambigious <3 i made sure reading this felt like riding a rollercoaster. did you feel bad for druig at first? how dark did you expect his corrupt alter ego would present as?
would love to hear your thoughts and feedback about this! it means a lot ily <3

Alright now that I've had like a day since I finished Eternals... let's go.
Sersi isn't getting enough praise. She's a complete badass and I loved her so much.
Sprite was an amazing character and I loved how they just grew bitter with humanity since their in a child body. That made so much sense and I loved Sprite so much. I will protect them with my life.
Kingo was hilarious and he deserves every but of praise he gets.
Thena is not getting talked about enough. My queen got hurt badly over this movie and I will protect her with my life... yeah she's more capable than me.
Druig I figured was gonna be one of my favs as soon as I heard his name. I know we arent supposed to like him, but I love how he's so empathetic and impulsive together that he ends up being a worse person because of it. I found him to be a breakout character for me.
Makkari, my beautiful Makkari, you are too good for the MCU. Omg, a speedster that's deaf is a perfect concept. She's so sweet and compassionate and relaxed, yet she will flip if prompted. I loved that we now have 2 ASL users in the MCU with Echo and Makkari. I have the beautiful headcanon that Makkari and the Eternals all made Sign Languages across the world.
Gilgamesh, you were too good for this movie. I screamed when Gil died, like how dare they. HE MADE PIE AND USED HIS LIFE TO HELP THENA AND THIS IS WHAT HE GETS?!?!?! In all seriousness though, I'm truly distraught that they just snuffed him out like that, but I have hope that he will return down the line with the World Forge.
Phastos is the first openly queer character in the movie side of the MCU and it took too long. I'm so happy he's in the movie, his character was awesome being the tech guy of the Eternals, and it sucks that he's the one who made the atom bomb. I think he had one of the most interesting stories in the movie. We get to see him have a family which was awesome. I'm shocked they got to do all of that in this movie, I honestly thought we'd get a wlw relationship before we got a mlm relationship in the movies and I gotta give em points for going with this. This was great and I'm very happy about this.
Ajak was interesting. It's depressing that she caused her own death but such is life. I love that it showed how close they were with her and it makes her death feel like it has meaning. I kinda hope we don't see her return but I'm sure we are going to.
Ikaris, I'm gonna say this and I'm gonna lose the little credibility I have... Ikaris shouldn't have died (should he have actually died). His story could have become more interesting. He went from falling for Sersi, to becoming a pawn for Ajak and Ahersham? to murdering his closest friend for Ahersham, and fighting the rest of his family to do what he thought was right. He was a perfect soldier, not a good man. Then he realizes that, and instead of letting him figure out where to go from that he flies into the sun and dies.... fuck them. He could have become more interesting but they suck. Whatever.
Karun was a perfect gem. He better return down the line, I doubt it but he should. Kinda wish he had more to do and could have helped but it's whatever, he was great.
Dane was one of the characters I was most excited for in this movie and lemme tell you!!!! How dare they. It's fine he'll be a bigger character down the line but I'm a bit upset. It is what it is.
Character Ranking (Top 5)
5. Sersi
4. Sprite
3. Makkari
2. Druig
1. Thena
Relationship Ranking
4. Sersi and Ikaris... I think it's supposed to not be good. I think that was the point. He was obsessed with her but also with his mission and she moved on.
3. Dane and Sersi
2. Phastos and Ben
1. Makkari and Druig

⚠ ETERNALS SPOILERS ⚠
Though there's no need anymore but…
Alright…
So, the first thing we see in the movie is their powers, which I find awesome.
And the way they put on their suits? Yea!
Also, i love that Shang-Chi was in the M of MARVEL in the opening. Did you see him?
We also have a Dr. Strange mention when Dane asks Sersi if she's a wizard. I do wanna see him as a giraffe.
Dane, he's a baby and Sprite, she's so badass. Her powers, dude, how she multiplied herself AND Sersi? Woooow.
I mean, you can't tell Gemma was already in a MCU movie. Like, her characters are so freaking different and I live that.
And, imma tell you, my brother would yell “The King In The Noth!” every time Richard Madden was onscreen.
And i can't blame him, sorry.
I mean, Richard and Kit. Together. Again. We love them. We were both fangirling.
A mention of Thanos and the blip, people believing that the earthquake had something to do with that. Yeah, weird shit happens there wouldn't be surprised.
Well, Ikaris is, indeed, the most beautiful. And I don't accept other opinions.
Now, I don't know why everyone was so upset about that sex scene. There was nOTHING ONE COULD SEE! It wasn't explicit, it wasn't forced, and it wasn't even long!!!
Ajak choosing Sersi to replace her was something I should have seen coming. Why didn't I is a mystery.
Also, i already know she died. Except I did not think it would happen so early in the story.
Lemme just… MI ✨ TENOCHTITLAN ✨ HERMOSA, TE AMO. Though they didn't show you in your best of moments.
Sorry, I got distracted for a second.
For a sec I was like wtf is happening to Thena? But then we got the explanation of the Mahd' Wy'ry and it kind of made sense.
Knowing that somehow Druig was right but also knowing he couldn't interfere is like uuuuugh!!
But he did it anyway so… yeah.
Now, the DCEU is canon in the MCU. Batman and Alfred and freaking Clark Kent are more canon than Mephisto and Evan Peters' Quicksilver. I don't know how to feel about it.
Did anyone else feel bad about Gilgamesh's pie?):
Also, his friendship with Thena is beautiful. His way of bringing her back was, in my opinion, way better than Nat's lullaby to Hulk. Don't mind me, I don't like that pairing.
Wait, wait, wait. Gil fought with/alongside with Odin? Against Laufey? WTF? I need to know more.
So, there is no Olimpia, The World Forge is where the Eternals are MADE. *insert Scott Lang's voice* Their whole existence is a bunch of… bullshit?
Also, i was not expecting that deviant thing. Like, Arishem created them as well for the intelligent kind to appear. What - -?!
Sorry but Druig os asdfghjklñ, Kingo. He doesn't suck. 🤷🏻‍♀️
And Ikaris left Sersi because he died in the Red Wedding. Xd
No time for jokes? K, got it.
I love Karum, he's iconic.
And Thena is a baby. We must protect her at all cost.
Gil.): I can't believe he died too. Gotta admit that I sobbed. I didn't know you well but you'll always be remembered, my friend.
Abruptly changing the topic; I cAN'T BELIEVE PEOPLE GOT MAD ABOUT A GAY COUPLE IN THE MOVIE!
Like, hello!!! It wasn't forced, it was casual, natural and just fucking normal. And I love how it wasn't a big deal that had to be explained in the film because it is NORMAL.
Ikaris mentions the vibranium, and we saw this in the trailers but I just love how Wakanda and its open doors to the world are relevant.
I'm living for that reference of King Arthur being in love with Thena. Man, we all are and if you're not, you're lying yo yourself.
Okay, we know why Ikaris left Sersi now.
And the fact that thanks to Thanos the emergence was delayed? Was he a good guy?
Not a serious question but it makes you think though.
Now I understand why Ikaris was described as “loyal”.
Because, as I said, I knew Ajak died and I knew it was Ikaris who killed her, but I did not expect it that way!
Now, and I'll be as calmed as possible, WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU, SPRITE?!?! I, TOO, WOULD LEAVE EVERYTHING BEHIND FOR RICHARD MADDEN BUT HOW COULD YOU BETRAY YOUR FAMILY?
Thena, sweetheart, you're a goddess and I love you, I'm so proud of you for getting rid of that deviant.
I don't know how to feel about Ikaris not being able to kill Sersi. Like, it's not actually a redemption arc, but the fact that he loved her so much he couldn't do it makes me like him.
Yeah, I said that. I understand why all of you hate him but I can't bring myself to do it. And I'm ready to physically fight whoever dares to say anything about him.
Now, Spite got everything she wanted, she's a human ajd I'm happy she got her happy ending.
Or the happiest she can be without Ikaris around.
And, WHY, ARISHEM, DID YOU HAVE TO INTERRUPR DANE WHEN HE WAS ABOUT TO TELL SERSI ABOUT THE BLACK KNIGHT??!?
We all knew he'd be there, but I got excited when Eros made his entrance. My inner fangirl screamed.
DUUUUDE, I saw the leaks but I STILL GOT EXCITED WHEN DANE IS ABOUT TO TAKE THE EBONY BLADE AND HE HEARS, WELL, BLADES' VOICE! AKSÑDLSKÑS. can't wait for that movie.

For the Actor AU:
After they come back from a premier and Gil stays for the night he certainly forgets the next morning that he slept there. A nice surprise for Thena 👀😏
Thena just barely managed to drag herself downstairs. The premier last night ran late, and then the afterparty for socialising sake went until some ungodly hour of the morning.
Had Kingo not insisted she go and meet with a director who had been hounding him she wouldn't have gone at all. Well, if Gil hadn't agreed to go with her as support, she wouldn't have.
He was always doing things like that for her.
Every premier was at his side, now, every afterparty was endured with his company. She couldn't recall what she did at such events before she started working with him so often but obviously they weren't very noteworthy.
Now, she could - almost - have a good time with Gil there.
But that didn't mean she wasn't longing for home whenever she was out. To get out of her outfit for the night and sit on her couch and listen to Sprite talk about whatever. Maybe even Gil would come home with them and make them some light, delicious dinner after the fancy and painfully small dinners at their stupid events.
Half the time they didn't even have food. The purpose of women wasn't to eat, after all.
Thena came downstairs, hoping to find some leftovers in the fridge. She didn't even want to have to handle the microwave, at the moment. She passed by the couch, with her throws completely thrown in disarray. Whatever, she could tidy them later. Sprite was probably...no, wait...it wasn't Sprite.
It was Gil.
He did come home with her. After the afterparty she had let him crash on the couch, both of them exhausted and maybe a little bit tipsy. She had barely gotten upstairs.
She had initially thought about collapsing onto the couch with him. There was plenty of room, after all. But Gil had sent her up to a proper bed, like the gentleman he was. And just as well; she would have been far too embarrassed to look at him after attempting to get snuggly together after one too many glasses of champagne.
"Let's see," she muttered as she opened the fridge, not that the light in it wasn't far too bright for her at the moment. There were indeed leftovers, since Gil always made such generous portions. She was pretty sure it was half for Sprite's voracious appetite - he was far too kind to her little devil of a sister - and partly so he had leftovers to leave her.
He was always thoughtful like that.
"Coffee."
"Gil?"
Thena closed the fridge door for just a second to look at him before whipping it open between them again. She blinked, wondering if she had seen what she thought she had seen. But she didn't dare look again.
"Shit!"
She did see. She kept staring at the condiments in the door of the fridge as she listened to Gil rush back to the couch where surely he had left what he wasn't wearing when she saw him.
"Fuck," he cursed, the rustling of fabric travelling to her ears over the hum of the fridge. "Sorry, Thena--I-I didn't-!"
She finally emerged from the cool of the fridge just to peek at him a little. He was clothed again, at least, in more than black boxerbriefs.
"Thena, I'm so sorry." Poor Gil--he was flushed bright red, because of course he was. This was the guy who was mortified to appear before her without a shirt on when his arm was broken. He simply wasn't the type to walk around in his underwear without reason. "I-I woke up and I didn't realise--I thought I was at my place. I-I wasn't thinking!"
She was still somewhat hiding from him, mostly using the cool of the fridge for...other purposes. She emerged little by little, "it's okay, Gil. I'm not exactly the most alert before my coffee either."
"Still," he cleared his throat, looking down at his feet, obviously mortified.
She did have some sympathy for him. He was so sweet, and he really wasn't the type to do something so bold on purpose. He was shy like that, and it always endeared him to her. "It's okay, Gil, really. You know...it's not like I haven't seen you at work like that."
"Okay, come on," he sighed, just as embarrassed over her teasing about their work life as he was about the misunderstanding entirely. At least he was smiling a little.
Thena shrugged, pretending to inspect the egg carton in the fridge (it was empty, she just kept forgetting to throw it out). "You did the shirtless scene, and you did have that one bed scene last summer."
"Yeah, but that was onscreen," he sighed, ruffling his hair and giving her a wide berth as he finally went to reattempt their coffee for the morning.
Onscreen, as in: she hadn't actually seen him like that in person.
"Same thing," she laughed faintly as she finally closed the fridge. It wasn't like she was actually going to cook anything anyway--especially now that Gil was up.
"It is not," he scoffed, annoyed in good nature at her teasing of him. He turned on her fancy espresso machine and started brewing coffee. "What do you want for breakfast?"
"Anything," she groaned as she left him to his domain of her kitchen, opting to flop over the back of the couch (unlike the hostess she was supposed to be).
"Hungover?" he chuckled.
"No, but god am I tired," she sighed, slithering into the spot Gil had vacated. It was still warm. She pulled the blankets over herself. "You must be too."
"Hm," he mused as he opened the fridge, probably able to see much more for himself, "I guess. I'm not nearly as much of a lightweight as you are."
"I am not a lightweight!" she protested. She could shoot up off the couch to glare at him too, but that seemed like a lot of work.
"Well, it's 'cause you don't eat enough."
Thena would throw something at him if anything were within reach.
He appeared over her in just a moment, though, with a cup of coffee for her and a smile, "that's why I'm here."
Yes, dear, trusty Gilgamesh, with his talent for cooking, constantly saving her from herself. She accepted the cup and dragged herself into sitting up to have some. "I am grateful, not matter how grumbly I am in the morning."
"It's okay to be cranky" he laughed as he started pulling things out of the fridge.
"I said grumbly, not cranky."
He ignored her, continuing in his endeavor to make breakfast. "It's your house. And I did, uh, spook you this morning."
Was that what he was going to call it? Thena let her eyes drift over to him. He had pulled on the trousers he had been wearing for the premier, as well as the t-shirt he had worn under his dress shirt. It was a good look for him.
The smell of chili oil filled the kitchen. Thena watched whatever he was doing, since he had surely discovered that she had neglected to replenish the eggs.
"Tofu scramble?" he looked over his shoulder, catching her watching him.
She was too tired to act embarrassed. She just nodded, leaning against the back of the couch and listening to the comforting sounds of him cooking.
They both startled as Sprite came stomping downstairs. "Will you two stop yelling so early in the damn morning?!"

For the Thenamesh Doctor AU:
Thena looses unexpectedly a patient! And the only one who she needs is our beloved Gil
"No."
"Thena."
"No!" she snarls, fighting as Kingo tries to pull her to her feet--off the patient she's been trying to get back for nearly ten minutes. "He was fine!"
"T, come on," he says gently, reaching for her again.
"Dammit," she hisses, watching the colour of her patient's skin just get worse and worse. Some hair slips into her field of vision. "Check his eyes."
Ajak obeys, kneeling down and pulling his eyelids up. Completely bloodshot and nonresponsive--it's hemorrhagic shock, for sure. Ajak gives her a look, "Thena."
"Fuck!" she leans back, arms burning, lungs ice cold. She looks at her patient, to Ajak and Kingo and a few others gathered around. She looks at the clock, "time of death, 12:37."
The crowd parts for her, in no rush to try and get in the way of her temper. She snaps her gloves off and bins them as she storms through the hallways.
He was just a man in for a scare--a little murmur in his pacemaker that made his wife worry. He was nice; they talked about how he met his wife and how to make the best grilled cheese. He was a sweet man.
Thena walks into the on-call room and throws the door closed behind her. She runs her hands over her hair, pushing back the piece that's escaped. "Out."
The door never was able to close, stopped by a foot and letting in one other person who closed it gently. "Hey."
"Out, Gil," she repeats, but it has no real bite to it. She's not very good at snapping at him for real.
He already knows, whether it's from passing it in the hallway or just by looking at her. But he walks over to her, already poised to take her into his arms, "c'mere."
Thena just barely lets him pull her against him. She's stiff, at first, still trying to hold it in. She's not exactly done her shift, and they're going to come and get her any minute, she's sure.
"I've got you," Gil whispers as he encircles her in his arms and presses his cheek to the top of her head.
Thena turns her head, letting herself bury her face in his chest. He's so warm, and so soft, and he smells more like home than her apartment ever could.
Gil whispers sweet nothings as she breaks down in his arms, pressing her sobs into his chest. He rubs her back as she trembles against him. She's been doing this for a long time, she's no stranger to what this work is like. But if she's taking it this hard, then she actually liked the guy. Poor thing.
Thena turns her head against him, just enough to breathe. Her eyes sting and she can't see shit. Her breathing is erratic and she feels like she's freezing cold. Gil wraps his hoodie around her with his hands in the pockets. "It's not fair."
"It's not."
"He came in to be cautious," she snivels, wrapping her arms around the back of him and clutching at his shirt. He's so warm. "He came in so his wife wouldn't worry--it's not fair."
"I know."
She's done trying to reason it out. It's never going to get less unfair. She sighs, letting out whatever she has left in the tank.
Gil kisses the top of her head, swaying them faintly on their feet, "I'm sorry, Thena."
She closes her eyes, trying to let Gil's heartbeat drown out reality. "I have to call his wife."
"I know." That part is always the hardest. Harder than even losing them, trying to resuscitate their poor hearts. "Let me go with you."
"No," she practically whines as she pulls away from him. Back into the cold waters of reality she goes, wrapping her arms around herself. Gil is so warm, and the usually ambient hospital feels like the tundra to her now. "I should do it alone."
"You don't have to, though."
Thena lifts her head just enough to look at him. Neither of them is a stranger to hard days. He's also had his days when he wonders what they could have done differently--a single step they could have taken that would have kept someone alive.
"Hey," he whispers, leaning down and pressing a kiss at the corner of her lips. "I'm here if you need me."
She nods. She can't say anything now--talking requires thinking, and she needs all her autopilot skills to get through the rest of the next five hours.
Gil gives her shoulder one last squeeze before heading out into the hall. "Uh... "
The chill she was feeling sinks even deeper into her bones. Thena walks to his side, having already guessed what he was seeing.
The patient's wife is here, holding a sandwich and a bottle of water and weeping. This couldn't get worse. Thena squeezes past Gil and walks toward the poor woman, refusing to perceive the tears in her eyes. "Missus Langford?"
"Wh-Where's-"
"Why don't we sit down?"
Thena looks up as Gil guides the woman towards the far corner of the waiting area. It's not ideal, but they don't want her on her feet when she gets the news. She should have known he wasn't going to let her do this alone.
"Is everything okay?" the poor woman looks between them desperately.
Thena tries to get it out--she really does. But the woman takes one look at her face and crumbles into tears. "I-I'm so sorry, Missus Langford. Y-Your husband...he suffered a blood clot. He-"
"No," the woman sobs, her face contorting as grief takes her in its arms. "No, please!"
Thena's throat clamps tight. The smell of the homemade grilled cheese reaches her nose and she wants to throw up.
Gil leans over from his seat on the other side of her, "I'm sorry, Missus Langford. We did all we could, but I'm afraid...your husband passed very quickly."
"No!"
Thena turns away as Gil rubs the poor woman's arm. He's the better person for the job, anyway. She's not that good at comforting people. He looks at her and she swipes her tears away. The families can never see you break--if you can get a single thing right, it's don't let them see you break. She sniffles, "he was a very sweet man, Missus Langford. He told me all about you."
"H-He did?"
Thena nods, blinking through more tears, letting them obscure her vision of the older woman. "I got to talk with him during his examination. He told me about how you met at the movies."
The woman just starts crying even harder. Thena flinches but when she looks at Gil he nods for her to keep going. She shakes her head abut he nods even harder. She sighs; he's the comforting expert.
"H-He, um, told me about using mayo for grilled cheeses," Thena mumbles, trying to ignore the wax wrapped sandwich in the woman's lap.
"They-" she sniffles and laughs all at once, "they were his favourite."
Thena manages a smile and nods at the woman.
"I, um," Missus Langford presses her palms to her eyes and collects her purse. "I-I have to call-"
"Take all the time you need," Gil assures the woman in one fell swoop, still holding her shoulder and placing his other hand on her wrist. "I can show you to him, and the hospital will help you make arrangements, okay?"
"O-Okay," she nods as Gil guides her gently to her feet. She holds up the sandwich and water, "um-"
"It's okay," Gil smiles, gently patting her hands to deposit them back in her purse. "You'll need your strength. You should hold onto them."
Thena walks behind them, happy to fall into the background of things. Her feet squeak and drag as they guide the woman to her husband. "Missus Langford, if you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask, okay?"
The sweet woman nods at her, fresh tears coming into her eyes. They rise in Thena's as well, but the woman shakes her head. "You go, dear. I know you did everything you could for him."
Thena really feels like she could throw up.
"Someone will come in to ask how you want to proceed, Missus Langford," Gil steps in again, with that soft voice of his. "No one will rush you."
She nods her thanks to them again before moving to her husband's side behind the curtain. It happened so suddenly they don't even have a private room for her to do her grieving.
Gil plants his hand on Thena's shoulder as they walk away. "Hey."
She nods, swiping at her tears yet again. She doesn't think she'll ever be able to eat a grilled cheese sandwich again. She looks up as Gil threads her arms through his hoodie. It's nice and warm, at least. "You'll need it."
"I'm warm enough." He certainly is. He zips it up and even rolls the sleeves up for her. It's not exactly professional, but no one is going to dare to tell her that. "This poor old thing--might be time for a new one."
Thena subconsciously clings to it at the thought.
Gil kisses her forehead. "This one's all yours, baby."
She sighs. They have work to do. Mister Langford is going to be one of many patients tonight. And it's her job to make sure there are no more Missus Langfords so long as she can help it. "Thanks."
He nuzzles her cheek and kisses her temple, "always."
"See you after?" she asks in a small voice, her hand trailing against his until their fingers are clinging to each other.
He gives her a smile that helps her fight the insufferable cold of the night, "I'll find you."
He always does.

Would you write something funny that involves a certain amount of nudity?
Like Kingo and Ikaris joining Gil in the bathhouse, sliding into the water, closing their eyes, enjoying the hot water. So they don't notice Thena silently emerging from the water. She scares Kingo and Ikaris out of their trance with a dry joke about their manhood and embarrassing them to death.
Gil just wiggles his eyebrows. 🖤✨
"What a day," Kingo lamented as he left the steam rooms for the actual baths.
"Aye," Ikaris murmured alongside him. The fight had been a little rough, but after the fight, they had both been on watch. And watch along the borders of Kievan-Rus was much colder - and felt much longer - than it had in the Guptan Empire, or back in China.
There was already a wide back and set of arms sprawled out along the frontmost wall of the bath, facing the back of the room. The size of them was undeniably that of the Strongest Eternal.
"Gil, you beat us here," Kingo greeted in a light tone.
He shifted in the water, just barely turning his head to look back at them. "Oh, uh, hey guys."
"Were you not expectin' guests?" Ikaris chuckled as they stepped into the steamy room.
"No, it's just that-"
A second figure emerged from previously being completely concealed by Gilgamesh. A head of blonde hair lifted from off his chest, Thena looking at them with critical eyes, "hello."
"Shit!" Kingo yelped.
"Fuck's sake, Thena!" Ikaris roared, both angrier and the more embarrassed out of the two.
"Oh, please," she rolled her eyes at them, settling against her chosen seat in Gil's lap again. "I do not care for your maidenly shyness, nor your manhoods."
"Gil!" Kingo hissed, still trying to cover himself for modesty's sake, "you can't warn a guy?!"
Gil shrugged, though, pulling his arms off the wall and wrapping them around Thena. "You know this is our spot."
"Un-fuckin'-believable," Ikaris growled, still letting his anger create a cover for his threatened pride. He turned to march away, "I'm a married man, eh? I don't think you'd find it so funny if Sersi and I were in here and you walked in...like this!"
Thena was unbothered by her brother's taunting, "like Sersi would look? My worry would be for your pride alone, Ikaris."
"Go easy on him, Solnyshkuh," Gil soothed, attempting to keep his amusement about the whole situation to himself, for his brothers' sakes.
"What's that supposed to mean?!"
"Come on, tiger, walk it off," Kingo placated Ikaris, pulling him back to the steam rooms. "We can use one of the other bath rooms."
"Indeed," Thena encouraged, if only to get one last growl out of her ruffled brother.
Gil gave her hip a little pinch before resuming his task of running his hand over her back. "I'm sure you wouldn't like it if someone were to catch me in that situation."
"You would have nothing to feel ashamed of," Thena purred back to him, encouraging the Strongest Eternal to blush a vibrant and endearing red. "I know what is mine, as do they."
Gil changed tactics, tipping her chin up, "and what if the human bath attendants were to catch me?"
Thena's glare was cold and immediate, "has this happened?"
"No, you know I only come in here with you," he chuckled, satisfied that she had some sense of propriety about at least his state of dress (or undress). "I'm just saying..."
Thena sighed, rolling her eyes, "fine. I'll tell them I didn't see anything."
"Did you?"
"No," she scrunched up her nose, disgusted at the very thought. "I was behind you the whole time. I have no interest in whatever they think they have to offer."
Gil shifted them slightly, moving her from her side on his lap to sitting with her back flat against his chest. He linked their hands together on either side of them. "Then why the crack at Ikaris?"
"To rattle him," Thena answered plainly and honestly. "And because I just know he has nothing on you."
Gil nuzzled her hair out of his way to kiss behind her ear. "Why is this so amusing to you, but you get all shy when you wanna crawl into bed with me?"
Thena denied his question the dignity of an answer.
He felt her squirm a little, though, and leaned so he could brush his lips against her cheek. "We all have our things."
"You are too kind," she sighed, deciding they were done with the topic of her propensity for cuddling and her inability to suggest it herself.
"Even to you?"
"Even to me," she cooed, settling in his arms again.
Gilgamesh's correction was warm and immediate, "never."

JESUS your prompt with Gil being a special force agent was sooooo good! The DRAMA! my heart! Pls do a part 2! the mission and if he fulfilled his promise! I need to know! May the drama, action and sweetness be with you! :D
Gil opened his eyes to a white ceiling and a dim light over him. Last he remembered was the operation and covering the stairwell. He was pretty sure it was going well, last he recalled.
He tried to raise his hand to rub his eyes but found it occupied. He looked down, and now he was pretty sure he had died during the sting and was now in his own personal heaven.
Thena was asleep in the chair next to his recovery bed, head on her arm, her hand holding his in her sleep.
Yeah, he had definitely died. He must have, for this to be happening.
"Hey, man."
Gil startled, looking over and getting just a peek at Kingo, where the curtain between their beds had been pulled a little too far. He could just see a little bit of him. "What happened?"
"It went fine until there were more unsubs than we thought," Kingo narrated, his eyebrow doing a lot of work to help him express what he thought of it all. "One of them tried to take the stairwell to escape and, well, that's where you come in, pal."
Right, now Gil could recall the weight of three men plowing into him, pushing them all down one and a half flights of stairs. And that was before he had to fight and apprehend them all, too.
"Good thing you were in there," Kingo puffed out a faint laugh. "That's the Boss, though--doesn't leave any stone unturned."
Yes, that certainly was their surprisingly fretful and caring boss. Gil snuck a look back at her on his other side, probably completely concealed from Kingo's view by his body. At least for the time being, so long as he could be cool about it.
"Relax, I know she's there."
Fuck.
"She came in a few hours ago, after everyone else and the higher ups had already come in to tell us the mission went well," Kingo snorted amidst his quiet laughter. "She took one look at you and didn't leave your side--obviously still hasn't."
Gil blushed, his hand aching to tighten around hers but not wanting to risk waking her and ending his little moment of bliss.
"She really cares about you, big guy," Kingo said softly from his half of the room. "Tries not to--I guess it wouldn't look too good for her rep. But it's obvious you mean a lot to her, at least from where I stand."
"Well," Gil sighed, now free to look at her all he liked with Kingo's graciously given secrecy. She looked even more beautiful than she did when she had her stern Goddess of War face on. "She means a lot to me, too."
"Oh my god, I'm going to sleep."
"You brought it up!" Gil hissed at his partner, who was already faking a deep, loud snoring next to him. Gil rolled his eyes, at least shifting to look at Thena again. As soon as she did wake up he was going to tell her to sleep in a proper bed, for the love of-
"Gil?" Thena blinked herself awake, pulling her head up and cracking her neck through her discomfort. She looked at him, finding him still asleep. She sighed, "what am I going to do with you?"
Gil let himself 'awaken' as he felt her fingers brush over his forehead. If he let this go any further he might not be able to live with himself. He opened his eyes and the first thing he did was smile at her, "hey."
"Hey," she smiled back, resisting the urge to put a nautical mile of distance between them. In just this particular moment, her concern for him won. "How are you feeling?"
"Well, I'm guess I'm pumped full of drugs at the moment, so not so bad," Gil noted lightly, much to Thena's chagrin. He was always like this, happily reporting that so long as things went well, then he could endure whatever collateral damage he had suffered in the process.
"You had quite a fall, Gil, and then quite a fight," Thena informed him more firmly, one hand still on his, the other smoothing down some of his bed head for him. "It's nothing to take lightly."
"But I still did it," he proclaimed proudly. She blinked at him in confusion, but his smile only grew, "I cam back to you...alive."
"I suppose you did," she cleared her throat, finally pulling back and standing, brushing off her skirt suit and smoothing down her hair.
He supposed it could have been the weird hospital lighting, but Gil really could have sworn there was a little bit of pink in her cheeks. "I will next time too, Thena."
She spared him another, quickly withering glare. Her hand brushed over his shoulder ever so lightly - and too quick for his hand to come up and reach for it to keep it there - before she went to retrieve his doctor, "consider it a direct order."
Kingo lay in his bed, wide awake and wishing he weren't.

Hii.. so I have this little request for a story. You probably remember the scene were the Eternals arrive in Australia? I had the idea that Thena was in the house with Gilgamesh, he comes out after they called him (like in the movie) but Thena comes out shortly after him only wearing one of his shirts and the other Eternals react to it somehow? I would love to read something like this. I don’t think I need to add how much I love your stories (since you probably know that by now :))
"And her trusty friend, the mighty...Gilgamesh!"
"Gilgamesh!"
Ikaris stood back as the door to the house opened. Gil stared back at him, and then at Kingo over his shoulder, equally confused to see them. He tilted his head at Karun's little documentary camera, waving his hand through the air like a cranky elder dismissing a child.
"Gil," Ikaris nodded, trying his best to be amiable with the brother he hadn't seen in literal centuries. "Lookin' good."
Neither were quite sure if it was a joke about the flowery 'kiss the cook' apron or not. But GIlgamesh laughed all the same, "I know. Wish I could say the same to you."
Ikaris' smile dropped.
KIngo laughed, though. "Same old Gil. You do look good, though."
Kingo's smooth talk didn't budge Gilgamesh from the doorway. He wasn't yelling at them to leave but he hadn't exactly invited them in, either. He put his hands on his hips, "not that this isn't nice, but...what are you guys doing here?"
Sprite gestured vaguely to the Deviant carcass, not as far away as they would have liked it to be. "That didn't strike you as odd?"
Gil crossed his thick arms over his even thicker chest, "my mind was on more important things."
"Gil?"
Ah, yes, there she was: the most important thing in the world to Gilgamesh.
A long, pale leg poked out first, then the Warrior Eternal emerged. She was also dressed for home life. Actually, she wasn't as dressed as they expected her to be.
Ikaris looked up and around at the cloudless sky, "fuck's sake, Thena."
Karun startled as Kingo gripped the camera in his hand and yanked it away from him. He jumped when the Eternal shot clean through it, shattering it to pieces.
"Hey," Gil whispered to her, bringing his hand up to her back as she took up the spot beside him on the threshold. "What are you doing up?"
She nodded her head in the direction of their family collective. "They woke me."
He sighed, keeping his eyes on her as if he'd forgotten about their audience. "I worried they would. But you should be resting."
Thena let out a soft, almost kittenish sigh as Gil trailed his hand up and down her back, over the linen of the shirt. "I got some sleep."
"You feel better?"
"Much," she tilted her head, which he eagerly cushioned with his other hand to let her nestle her cheek into his palm.
"Um," Sprite cleared her throat, nothing short of disgusted, "what the fuck?"
"Hello," Thena finally looked over the group, greeting them mildly.
"Hello?!" Kingo scoffed, at least able to look at her, unlike Ikaris. "That's what we get after not only hundreds of years, but also you coming out like this?!"
Thena looked down at herself, and the shirt of Gilgamesh's billowing around her thighs in the midday breeze. She blinked at her brother's fluster. "I was asleep."
Kingo shook his head, waving his hands around wildly.
Gil shrugged, "this is all she'll sleep in."
"Gross," Sprite grumbled as she kicked a little dirt with her shoe.
Sersi rolled her eyes. Five minutes together and her family was just as insufferable as she remembered. She walked over, elbowing Ikaris on her way. "Will you get a hold of yourself? I have dresses shorter than that shirt is on her."
Kingo snapped a finger at her, "that does not make me feel better."
Sersi just shook her head, leaning forward to hug her sister in greeting. She ran a hand along the braid sitting over Thena's shoulder. "This is new."
"Not to us."
Sersi just smiled as Gil's hand found Thena's waist again, eager to pull her back to him. It certainly answered the question of when Thena had learned to braid hair--she hadn't. Or maybe she had, but it was not her who had done it this time. "You can catch us up, then."
The family filtered into the house behind Sersi. Sprite didn't even look at their hosts as she walked by. Karun seemed to bewildered to look at anything. Ikaris and Kingo both glared at them, but Thena didn't mind her brothers or their annoyances.
Gil pressed his lips to her temple. "You sure you feel up to this? That was a hell of a fight."
"And I believe we may have more waiting," she sighed, her hand also running up and down his back as their family sat themselves around the table. She looked up at him. "I'll get dressed. Keep an eye on them."
He smiled, kissing her cheek, "it'll be hard with you looking like this."
