The purpose of university...
I never thought about the fact that some people only go to uni to actually get a job... I spent 7 years at university, doing undergrad and postgrad studies, and next week is probably my last week as a student, but I never did it for the diplomas. I did it because it was interesting and I didn't feel ready to be an active member of society yet. Is that weird ?
I have a few plans for the future, one of them being that if I would ever win the lottery I would spend my life as a university student. I wouldn't care about graduating though, I am just interested in LEARNING. Learning about literature, learning languages, learning theories... I would study astronomy, languages, I would even try dietetics and psychology even if I didn't follow a medical cursus and it would take me years to catch up and be qualified to register as a med student. I would love to travel and study contemporary phenomena like video games and TV series. Yeaaah, I would love to write a dissertation about Buffy or the Legend of Zelda...
I find it sad to think that someone would think that you only need universities to have a job and earn money. All the more since I'm really only qualified since my last 2 years of postgraduate studies, I wouldn't have been able to get a good job with only my English licence and my French Master, at least not in teaching.
Do/did you guys go to uni because it inspires you or because it's a necessity ?

Normally we'd take the time to link each individual item but we're out of spoons for the day. We liked putting this look together, even if the choker kept vanishing into the neck of Kess's simself.

SystemSims presents... Kessendra Autumn
Kessendra's sim avatar is going to be a work in progress, as in the inner-world, she presents herself as elven. She is never happy when it's her turn to cook, so I thought this screenshot was rather fitting.

Kess is the one that keeps us balanced when the emotions become too much to handle; the caregiver of children, our own and others'; the elven empath. She's also the vegetarian of the collective, which is probably why cooking isn't her specialty.

Today we're taking a little time to work on our sim selves. Our DID system has many alters, but these four are the main that front the most. (For those that are confused, this conversation is about my actual living situation, not just on Sims; we are using Sims4 to create our self portraits, or as close as we can get.)
Kessendra, or Kess, presents herself as Elven, and typically takes on the responsibilities involving self-care. Her craft is sewing, and she makes wicked awesome dice bags.
Tizzy presents himself as a satyr, and doesn't front all that often, as he is a male alter in a female body, but he loves to cook and is into the more extreme sports. He swears he will take us snowboarding some day, but he is seriously the only one interested. The rest of us... not so much. His craft is cooking, and recently he has picked up making jams!
Morrigan presents herself as a demon, misunderstood for a long time as the persecutor when she was really doing everything she could to keep the body safe. She has chosen to keep the self-image because she feels it reminds herself and the rest of us that a demon can care. Her craft is chainmail, both armor and jewelry.
Phoenix presents herself as a flaming fuck-off bird when she's mad or wants to be left alone, but for the most part she holds the image of a terran. She is the host of our system, fronting the most. Her craft is mostly digital work, and things made from that like pendants and vinyl work with her Cricut.
There are others in our system, our collective of chaos, our Craftastrophe (that's our shop name). Glad to meet y'all.
