Chapter 9 - Life Day
Kaesoka family AU
summary: Ahsoka, Kaeden and their shipmates celebrate Life Day. Which is a lot harder with kids running around trying to help.
Word count: 3.3k
Warnings: none! It's pure fluff!
A/N: A Life Day chapter in March?! Yes, it was supposed to be for the holidays but it's late so \ (ツ) /
I'd like the winter to come back. Spring means grass and that means allergies and That means I can't do my college work. I also don't like the heat, my preferred temperature range is like 40 to 66 with wind cause I hate getting too hot.
Anyway, enjoy the fluffy out of season gays.
Kaesoka Family AU Masterpost

Kaeden pulled her hair over her shoulder, keeping it out of her teething baby’s grasp. Padmé grunted and wiggled unhappily in her baby carrier.
She sighed and tried to ignore the little kicks to her back as she rolled the maij leh (Togruti: meat leaf) Ahsoka had managed to acquire on her last supply run.
The thin, soft chewy fungus was an ideal teething toy, at least until they got their hands on a proper teething toy. Due to the Empire's xenophobia, many species had taken their more odd products off the galactic market, they didn't have the fuel to spend on a trip all the way out to Shili for a chew toy.
She dipped her finger in the sticky paste that came with it and applied a generous portion to the end to hold the little roll together.
Her baby fussed more as she went to the table and set her down. Padmé gave her a huffy glare and snorted at her.
“Oh calm down, I'm done.” Kaeden told her, handing off the teething treat to her daughter.
Padmé eagerly took it and started chewing happily on the faux meat.
Her teething was just about to enter the phase where it would start hurting and the maij leh would do less for her. They needed to get a teething toy soon.
She sat with Padmé and waited for everyone else to get up, she had always been an early riser. Padmé took after her in that way.
She biologically took after Ahsoka, she behaved and had many more Togruta traits than human ones, her digestive system for example was similar to Ahsoka’s, though at the moment it looked like it could digest things outside of a carnivorous diet. They obviously hadn't tried anything too risky yet, they didn't want a sick baby on their hands. The only thing that gave away that she was a hybrid was the fluffy hair covering her back lek, and some of that hair was blue. With the Empire's attitude towards human hybrids, it was probably for the best.
Zevra said from experience that hybrids were widely variable in which traits they took from each parent, usually the more useful ones were selected. The majority of human hybrids would inherit the more alien features, there were exceptions that looked more human, but because the alien features were more useful, the very basic human traits frequently got overridden.
For hybrids between aliens, it was a lot more variable, but tended to follow along the same lines of trying to select the best traits for survival.
Some hybrids would look exactly like one parent just with their other's skin coloring.
Padmé was definitely one that took after her alien parent.
Luckily, that made her easier for medicines and vaccines once she got old enough for them.
Padmé kicked her little feet as she gummed the maij leh. Right on cue, something fell a few seconds later with a crack that rang out through the ship. It sounded like glass.
Kaeden sighed and picked Padmé back up to go check what her daughter had managed to knock over this time, with the broom and dust pan.
Her budding Force powers were definitely strong.
She came upon a broken glass cup that had been left out and subjected to Padmé’s untrained power. She cleaned it without much trouble and dropped the shards into the trash compactor.
Padmé started making her hungry noise, so she sat down to feed her.
Togrutas stayed on breastfeeding for a bit longer than humans, it was uncommon to start weaning at six months, unless there was no one to feed them, but their diet should stay more milk than not until over a year old. Teething chews didn't count as part of weaning. Kaeden was thankful that Togruta instinct told babies to stop biting around the time they developed teeth, it would have been a very painful process otherwise.
She settled in and waited for either Ahsoka to wake up or for Zebra and Rinu to come back.
The couple and their family were supposed to be back this morning with everything necessary for a proper Life Day celebration.
Zevra celebrated the Wookiee holiday the same way it was celebrated on Kashyyyk due to her upbringing under a kind old Wookiee, Gweersuw. They had taken her from a shitty orphanage on her birth planet and taken her in as their own cub.
Zevra had spent more of her life with the old Wookiee than she hadn't, the woman was practically a Wookiee herself. She was raised on Kashyyyk before the war and was well versed in shyriiwook. She'd even planned to take Kanbi back with her before her life took a turn for the worse.
Kaeden didn't know all the details but by the end of it, Kanbi was dead and Zevra had two infants and a freshly traumatized son.
Zevra hadn't seen or heard a thing from Gweersuw since shortly after meeting Rinu.
Sadly, it was looking unlikely that Zevra would ever see Gweersuw again.
The Empire's treatment of the Wookiees and the subjugation of Kashyyyk was a pretty bad sign.
The proximity alert went off, she pulled up the security feed, Rinu and Zevra were back.
A few minutes later, Xan was running through the halls to tell her all about what they were doing. The little boy loved to tell anyone who would listen about his day.
He jumped onto the bench next to her, practically shaking with excitement.
“Aunt Kay! We got a tree! A real tree! We've never had a Life Day tree before! Isn't it the best?!” The young boy exclaimed loudly.
“That does sound awesome.” She agreed.
Raada didn't have many trees, the moon had been mainly grasslands and rocky out-crops. The idea of having a tree in her home was a strange one to Kaeden.
“Yes, and it'll be more awesome if you watch your siblings while we set it up.” Zevra said suddenly grabbing her son by his waist and lightly tossing him over her shoulder.
The boy giggled gleefully, trying to squirm out of his mother's grip. Zevra dropped a box onto the table.
“That's for you and your trouble makers.” She said with a wink.
“Thanks…?” Kaeden said.
The Tholothian headed off to the main room of their new base, which probably wasn't the intended application of that space, it was just the biggest room they had cleaned up and remodeled so far, serving as a play and family room for now.
Kaeden got up with the box and headed back to her room to wake Ahsoka if she wasn't up already.
Seriously, how much sleep does a Togruta need? She shook her head, sighing affectionately.
Luckily for Ahsoka, she was awake when Kaeden got there.
“Well, well, well, look who's finally up.” She said, leaning against the door frame.
“Shut up.” Ahsoka groaned.
Kaeden chuckled, walking in and dropping the package on their bed.
“Early gift from Zevra, she says it's for my trouble makers.” She smirked.
Ahsoka rubbed her face with an annoyed sigh. Kaeden set the package on their bed, sitting down to plant a kiss on Ahsoka's cheek.
“Wanna see what she got us?” she asked, resting her head on Ahsoka's shoulder.
Ahsoka opened the box. Three ice blue sweaters with white snowflake patterns on the front and matching blue sweatpants.
“She got us matching life day sweaters!” Kaeden laughed while Ahsoka cringed.
"Please no, the last time I tried that; Anakin and Obi-Wan ended up fighting the whole night and back to the temple!" She groaned.
"They were really that bad?" Kaeden asked through her chuckling.
"The. Worst." Ahsoka nodded seriously.
"If they were that awful, then we can't do worse." Kaeden winked and nudged Ahsoka.
The Togruta chuckled then stopped for a second, wincing as Padmé chomped onto her hand while aiming for one of her lekku.
"Looks like the little joy is also a little pain." Ahsoka joked.
"Oh if she's anything like you she'll be a bigger pain when she's a teenager." Kaeden teased.
Ahsoka rolled her eyes. Kaeden laughed.
"So, should we help set up?" She asked.
"Yeah, they’ll need all the help they can get." Ahsoka agreed.
XXX
Setting up for a proper Life Day celebration was definitely a challenge with and eager to help and more eager to please six year old, a pair of well meaning toddlers and a Force sensitive baby who didn't know what was going on and kept dropping things.
Luckily, Padmé couldn't get anything too high of the ground, she'd only reach about an inch before she'd give up and look for something more entertaining.
It was chaos.
Ahsoka loved every bit of it.
It reminded her of the chaotic parties Anakin threw for the 501st.
She was currently hanging up lights in the main room with the Force because no one else could reach. Padmé was sat in the couch, distracted by Aatoo. The yellow and green Tooka was sitting above her with his tail dangling down in front of her face. Padmé giggled and tried to grab it, the tail retracted just out of reach then came back down. He brushed his tail through the fuzzy hair on her head and ruffled it up.
Padmé reached above her to grab the tail but ended up falling back. In a flash, Aaato was behind her and keeping her from falling. Padmé giggled and hugged him.
Ahsoka felt the joy her daughter had as she sent it out through the Force. She was a little beacon of light.
"Ahsoka, Padmé's cute and all but your in the way." Rinu said with a very noticeable tease in her voice.
Ahsoka blushed as she moved out of the way. Zevra came from one of the makeshift storage rooms, stopping Rinu as she passed.
“Have you seen the Life Day Orb? It's not where I put it.” She said.
Ahsoka glanced around for the orb, missing Rinu’s response. She heard Aatoo’s collar jingle, glancing at her daughter revealed the Tooka was suddenly gone from the scene. Padmé was gleefully babbling, crawling towards the Life Day Tree in the corner of the room.
“Zevra, I think your cat stole it.” Ahsoka said, spotting the yellow feline hidden in the tree.
Aatoo hissed and yowled at her ratting him out.
“You little shit!” Zevra exclaimed, fishing her Tooka out of the tree.
The mischievous feline had the orb clutched in his paws, he hissed at Zevra, tail lashing wildly, when she took the orb from him.
“Cats.” Zevra rolled her eyes.
XXX
Their Life Day was spent celebrating, exchanging gifts, eating and telling stories.
Miara had been able to stop by, bringing Artoo with her. The little devil had pestered Bail until he let him visit them for the holiday. She also came with Iolanthe, a Mikkian pilot friend of hers.
Kaeden didn't pay much attention to the story Miara and Iolanthe were currently telling all the kids who could pay attention, basically everyone but Padmé, she was content to sit back and enjoy the relatively peaceful atmosphere.
She kept an eye on Padmé of course, watching her eagerly crawl after Aatoo, who was sitting on Artoo to make the little game more interesting.
She pulled her loose hair up into a half-hearted bun, just to get it off her back. She felt Ahsoka's warm hands on hers.
“Mind if I take care of that?” Ahsoka offered, settling in next to her.
"Not at all." Kaeden smiled to herself and leaned into Ahsoka.
Her wife was braiding her hair back if the rhythm of gentle tugs was anything to go by. She left out the smaller braids by her face that Xan had done earlier.
“I have something for you, it's an old Togruta custom I'd like to share with you.” Ahsoka said almost nervously.
“Why Soka, are you nervous?” She teased, casting a cheeky glance at her wife.
Ahsoka scowled with a noticable tinge in her cheeks. She grumpily made her face forward again.
Her wife mumbled to herself as she wove something into her braids. Kaeden held back a snicker.
Ahsoka tied off her hair with a huff, Kaeden leaned back and kissed her cheek.
“It's cute when you're huffy.” She said.
She blushed and pushed her face away. Kaeden giggled and grabbed her around her waist, pulling her wife closer, resting her head on her shoulder. Ahsoka purred, loudly much to her embarrassment.
“Kaeden!” Ahsoka squealed, her face turning a deep blood orange.
“It's cute that you purr.” Kaeden told her.
“It's embarrassing!” Ahsoka exclaimed.
“And cute.” Kaeden kissed her cheek.
The Togruta shut up for a few minutes, stewing in flustered embarrassment.
Kaeden played with the end of her braid, Ahsoka had intertwined a dark orange ribbon woven from material she'd never seen before into her hair. Glancing back at her moody wife, she saw that Ahsoka had a similar ribbon tied around her left montral.
“What are these?” She asked.
“It's this Togruta custom, apparently you make a ribbon from this hard to gather material, it's kind of like a silk I guess? I don't know it was hard to find for a decent price, but you make a ribbon with it and then you weave it or tie it to the headdress of loved ones. I don't know exactly what the reason is but it also asks the Shili gods for protection, specifically this one called Grut Daaark (Togruti: hunter moon), I think she's pretty important, but these ribbons are supposed to be for affection and protection.” Ahsoka rambled, it was cute to see her so interested in something.
“Thank you, it's very pretty.” She thanked her wife with a kiss on the cheek.
“Would you like me to get yours?” She asked, gesturing to the other ribbon in her wife's lap.
With her permission, she took Ahsoka's headdress off and wove the ribbon around the front of it, leaving a long tail on either side.
“Can you sit in front of me?” She requested.
Ahsoka shot her a confused glance as she moved to sit in front of her. Kaeden set the headdress back in its place, she took the long ribbon tails and wrapped them around Ahsoka's back montral, tying it off right enough to be secure but not restricting.
“There, now we match.” Kaeden said, leaning over Ahsoka's shoulder.
“Thanks Kay.” Ahsoka gave her a quick kiss.
Kaeden glanced down at the other ribbon in Ahsoka's hands.
“Is that one for Padmé?” She asked.
“Yeah, but it's not recommended to give to babies until they're a bit older. They try to rip it off. Or eat it.” She said.
“That's a smart call.” Kaeden hummed.
Right as she said that, Artoo came back over to them with Padmé on his head. Aatoo must have made a break for it.
The astromech tilted forward, dropping the infant into Ahsoka's lap.
Before they could process what was happening, the droid's camera flashed and he snapped a picture of them. He let out the droid equivalent of a chuckle at whatever the picture looked like. Kaeden rubbed her eyes, glaring at the little metal devil.
Padmé clapped her hands gleefully at the droid’s prank.
A few embers suddenly sparked out of her clapping hands.
She stopped with a curious coo, examining her hands.
Kaeden stared in shock as her daughter clapped her little hands again.
A small red flame spurted from her clapped hands.
Padmé giggled and went to clap again, Kaeden quickly grabbed her daughter's hands to stop that from happening again. Her baby looked up at her with a peek baby confused face.
“Um, what was that?” Miara's voice had her noticing everyone staring at them.
“Pyrokinesis?” Ahsoka offered nervously.
“That's a thing?” Kaeden whispered.
“It's not super common, it's one of those things you kind of have to be born with to use, or really, really extensive training.” Ahsoka explained.
“Is she gonna burn the place down?” Rinu asked, looking understandably concerned.
“Nah, this old place is definitely fire proofed.” Zevra told her.
“I don't think she can make much more than sparks right now.” Ahsoka assessed.
“So it should be okay?” Kaeden wondered.
“Yes. I think so.” she nodded.
“That's good enough for me.” Miara shrugged and went back to the game she was playing with Iolanthe and the kids.
"Are you going to be trouble for mommy?" Ahsoka asked, wiggling their daughter's little hands.
Padmé made spit bubbles and nodded.
"Are you going to be adorable while you do it?" Kaeden cooed, tickling under her chin.
Padmé nodded again then, with a suspiciously naughty Ahsoka like smile, tried to clap.
Ahsoka caught her hands, earning the ire of their baby.
XXX
Gweersuw glanced up at the hooded stranger who entered her cave. She hadn't expected any company, sad, it was Life Day, Life Day wasn't meant to be spent alone, it was meant to be spent with family.
And in an interesting twist of fate, family was here.
Perhaps a sign from the Force, she wasn't Force sensitive herself, but she understood it well enough. She was no Lohgarra, but she had been around for a while, her time taught her much about the workings of the Force.
Considering a dead man stood before her, it really did work in mysterious ways.
“As relieved as I am that you are alive, I would have preferred to meet at a better time.” She scolded in her native language.
The Jedi nodded, observing her sparse dwelling.
“It appears that you are preparing to flee.” He commented.
The Wookiee crossed her arms and growled, “yes, I am going to find my cub and any others of my kind who have escaped. My home world is in trouble.”
The Jedi gave her another nod.
“Your cub has a rebellious spirit, from what you have told me. I am certain she has found a way to survive and protect her family.” The Jedi said.
Gweersuw frowned, she'd known this Jedi for a long time, since he and his master visited the home world. She knew when he was something on his mind.
“Spit it out, I know when you have a plan.” She growled assertively.
“Perhaps in your search for you cub, you could help me find a safe place to lay low. There are a few things I am set on accomplishing before I even think about getting killed by the Empire." He said.
Gweersuw sighed.
“Fine, you may join me. Just don't attract the hounds.” She said gruffly.
“Thank you for your kindness, Gweersuw.” The Jedi said bowing his head in thanks.
Gwerrsuw's hard, annoyed expression softened as the Jedi's hood slipped off and exposed his injuries.
Burns and scorch marks covered his face. He was missing some of his skull near the crown of his head in the back and looked like he had patched together a breathing mask with whatever he could find and likely somehow got illegal, rudimentary cybernetics to make up for the damage.
He looked nothing like the way he used too physically, a good thing since that would mean he was less recognizable, but Gwerrsuw could see and practically feel his spirit.
It was much like it had been when this Jedi was a mere padawan in the beginnings of his training. Just as committed to justice and equality and just as caring and understanding, yet a thousand times more wounded and broken.
It didn't take a Jedi to see how hurt a being was, all it took was experience and knowledge.
And the wounded Jedi in front of her was broken in so many ways.
Gwerrsuw smiled as the Jedi sat down, remembering when he came to her as a young Padawan for help with cuts and bruises, or a cracked mask.
"You are hurt, young one. Let old Gweersuw heal you."

I wonder who that Jedi could be 🤔

A blaze fed by the strength and determination of rebellious spirits.
Or, Ahsoka and Kaeden have a Force sensitive baby through combined nightsister Force fuckery. And they've got to raise a baby while being some of the first in a dangerous rebellion and protect from being sensed or taken by the Empire and having no idea what they are doing because Ahsoka is like, 20 and Jedi didn't teach her how to actually raise a baby of her own, how to take care of one? Yeah, totally, but not what to do if it's yours, and Kaeden is 19 and didn't have time to learn how to care for a baby, she was taking care of her sister. They have some older ship/crew/fulcrum spy cell mates to help them. And Morai.

Uncle Organa
Summary: Bail Organa visits the Fulcrum cell, mostly to appease the tiny metal devil that's been hounding him to go see the baby.
Word count: 2.4k
Warnings: just brief mention of pregnancy
A/N: E. K. Johnston's description of Artoo as a little metal devil is something I will never let go. There is some iffy space/planet asteroid stuff in this that I don't really explain but, this is a story where Ahsoka and Kaeden have a kid with the force so, I assume your disbelief is already suspended. I'm weird and I do things that I think are cool so it's better if you just roll with the weirdness.

________________________________________________________________________________
To say she was surprised to learn that Bail Organa would be visiting was an understatement, Ahsoka had panicked.
Everything was in decent order when the Senator arrived, but she was still nervous. She blamed her wild hormones for the panic as Rinu was greeting the Senator. She took comfort in Kaeden's presence next to her and the baby sitting between them, currently trying to eat her hand with her toothless mouth.
A loud, cheerful series of beeps reached her and she craned her neck to see Artoo speeding down the hall. The astromech rolled to a stop in front of her and beeped an excited greeting. His photoreceptor landed on Padmé sitting between them and he gave the equivalent of a droid chuckle. Ahsoka rolled her eyes at his childish behavior.
"Artoo!" She greeted the droid.
It was good to see the little guy, even if he poked fun at her private activities. Artoo beeped happily in response.
"Now she can finally talk to the real one." Zevra commented.
Ahsoka glared at her. So what if she missed the guy? It wasn't her fault he wormed his way into her heart.
"How've you been, little guy?" She asked.
Artoo told her how boring senate shit was and that he missed going on missions and being with Anakin and something about C-3PO not being the same and more annoying in recent years.
"I know, I miss him too." She patted his dome head gently.
He gave a sad whirl, then returned his attention to Padmé, immediately cheering up.
"You think she's cute? I suppose she's kinda cute." Ahsoka shrugged.
Artoo gave her a gentle zap for that. He beeped eagerly about how she was cuter than a Tooka kitten.
"Don't let the Aatoo hear you say that." Ahsoka warned.
As if the critter had been summoned, Aatoo suddenly materialized out of nowhere and hissed at Artoo. Artoo beeped aggressively at the Tooka and scared him off. Ahsoka sighed, course Artoo would pick a fight with a Tooka.
"Should I check the bed for Tooka droppings tonight?" Kaeden asked.
"I would." Ahsoka said.
The senator cleared his throat and Artoo did a droid equivalent of an eyeroll. Ahsoka hadn't even noticed the senator had entered.
"Senator Organa." She tried to stand up to greet the man, but he motioned for her to sit.
"I'm not here on business. Your friend has been pestering me to visit you since we got the message." Bail explained.
"Oh, good."
Ahsoka immediately slouched into the couch and was glad she hadn't felt like putting on more than a sweater and sweatpants. She would rather be comfortable right now.
"How are you holding up after, all that?" Bail asked with a general gesture towards Ahsoka, Kaeden and Padmé sitting between them, still chewing her hands.
"Well, whatever that was is way worse than I thought any pregnancy would be, and my dumb ass decided to go do it alone. I would not recommend it." Ahsoka groaned.
"Are you doing better now?" Bail asked.
Ahsoka raised a skeptical eyebrow.
"You said you weren't here on business." Kaeden said.
"Not incredibly important business." Bail admitted.
Ahsoka tossed her head back and groaned loudly. Kaeden gave her a quick kiss and offered to get her something to drink, offering caf to the senator. She had already hit her caf limit for the day, she wasn't supposed to have too much caf while breastfeeding.
Once Kaeden was off to the kitchen, Padmé finally noticed that there was a new person here and made cute little grabby hands at him. Ahsoka chuckled and picked up her daughter. She glanced at Bail and held Padmé out to him.
"Wanna hold her?"
XXX
Kaeden didn't bat an eye when she saw Padmé calmly sitting in Bail's arms. Her daughter was remarkably okay with unfamiliar people holding her, as of now anyway, it's not like she'd left their little base.
She handed a hot chocolate to Ahsoka and caf to the senator then took her seat next to her wife. Ahsoka leaned into her and she put an arm around her shoulders.
"I know I told you I wasn't here on business," Bail paused at Ahsoka's audible groan, "but there is something I figured best to talk with you about in person."
"Is there trouble?" Kaeden asked.
"No, it's nothing dangerous." Bail assured.
Padmé grabbed the edge of his cape and tugged on it gleefully. Bail took it in stride, he had a lot of experience with this. According to Artoo, he had given speeches and meetings with his daughter in his arms playing with his clothes or bottlefeeding her.
The little metal devil had even showed them some of the recordings.
"What I came here to tell you is that your shipmates' request has been granted, but I worry if you will have enough space for all of them." Bail said.
Kaeden glanced at Ahsoka, she sat up slightly, immediately more attentive. Zevra and Rinu had planned to make arrangements for their children to live with them. The kids were a joy and a help to have around, Xan was eager to learn and please, he was a great student for any subject. The issue of space was obvious.
There was only Rinu and Zevra's room, Ahsoka's, and now Kaeden's, overly crowded room, and Kaeden's former room which was part kids room, part storage. The ship was cramped too, with little opportunity for play or space to run around. With three kids, and soon to be a fourth, running around, they were gonna need a bigger space too.
And in Kaeden's own personal opinion, something that let her grow plants would be nice. She missed growing plants, she wanted to show Padmé how.
"Yes, we always knew we'd need more space." Ahsoka said.
Her wife leveled an even stare at the senator
"You already have something planned, don't you?" She guessed.
Who cared if it was Force shit, Kaeden loved watching Ahsoka guess what people were thinking. The little smirk on her face was absolutely everything.
Bail wasn't caught off guard by the question, he must've been used to it.
"Yes, fortunately, I was able to contact an old ally who has just what you need. She has several bases and storehouses stashed all over the outer rim, I haven't even heard of some of these systems, her family has been doing this for thousands of years, and she was more than willing to help." Bail said.
He motioned to Artoo, the little droid projected a hologram of three separate locations considered optimal for their cell.
"She selected three she thought would be best, but supplied a short list of others that you could use as well. You just need to alert her so she knows not to go there." Bail explained.
Kaeden gave the three locations a quick glance, there was one that caught her interest. It was based in a rather large asteroid, which had somehow in a process she had no hope of understanding, been made to have an atmosphere around it, it was a weak type one, but it meant the base couldn't be jeopardized by internal failings.
It was essentially an incredibly small, hollow planet, since the base ran through the insides of the space rock. What really piqued Kaeden's interest was the presence of plant life on the surface. It was only classified as an asteroid due to its size, which was already pretty big for an asteroid.
How this happened, again Kaeden was clueless, but she really liked that one. It would be like having a mini world of their own that, given it's extremely isolated location, would be completely unknown to the Empire, it was the perfect size for their group and maybe a few more, leaving them still with plenty of space.
We could raise our daughter on a 'planet' instead of old and rickety ships, we wouldn't need to constantly move around, we could have a home.
That base was stability.
"This is certainly a generous offer, who did you get this from?" Ahsoka asked.
Kaeden glanced away from the hologram back to the senator. He shifted from foot to foot.
"She requested not to be named, but I've done work with her before, she's incredibly reliable and hates the Empire with a passion, personally, I'd rather not get on her bad side." Bail then dawned a thoughtful expression.
"You may know of her actually, though I'm sure she'll be happy to introduce herself eventually. For now, her anonymity keeps her and her family safe, which I'm sure you understand." He said.
Kaeden looked at Padmé, still playing with the Senator's cape, and smiled. She understood now more than ever the desire to protect one's own. She didn't even need to look at Ahsoka to know her wife was feeling the same.
"We'll discuss it with Zevra and Rinu later." Ahsoka said.
Bail nodded.
"Now, onto less serious matters, my wife and I have a daughter of our own a few years older than yours, if you ever need anything, we want you to know that we will happily provide it." Bail said with a warm smile.
Kaeden got a funny feeling Ahsoka was about to say something dumb, and tapped her shoulder lightly. Ahsoka cocked her head to indicate she was listening. She leaned in close.
"Don't even think about it." She warned.
XXX
Padmé liked the stranger.
She didn't know why.
She just did.
He just felt good.
He felt warm and bright and happy and good.
He also felt… sleepy and uncomfortable under it all.
But it wasn't a bad sort of feeling.
She didn't feel any of the badness from him.
That was good.
She didn't like the badness.
It was cold and dark and lonely and empty and cold.
She didn't like cold.
Cold meant the badness, and there was too much of that for her liking.
She really didn't like the badness.
It made her feel sad.
She didn't like to feel sad, it made her cry.
She did not like the badness at all.
She liked the brightness more.
It was warm and bright and close and full and soft and gentle and peaceful and good. Very good.
The brightness felt like she was inside a star, she didn't know what a star was but that word felt right for the brightness.
The brightness liked it.
It told her it was like a star, bringing light and life and goodness and balance to everything around it and reaching far out.
The brightness told her many things, so many she figured she should not know them naturally, but who was she to argue with the brightness? It knew much more than she did.
So she laid back and listened to the calm voice of the brightness as she napped and played and ate and slept. It was always telling her something.
She did not know why the brightness had such an interest in her, but she did not care either. It could do what it wanted, it was the brightness and it was everywhere.
She could feel it everywhere, and that felt good. She could rely on it, cause it would be there even when she didn't need it.
She could sense a different brightness in everyone around her; everyone had some brightness in them, and they were all distinct. It was how she had learned how to tell them apart.
The biggest brightness was in her mom, but her brightness felt odd, it was dimmer than it should be. The brightness never told her why her mother was like that, only saying that she would learn soon enough. It didn't make sense to her.
The brightness was good, and it felt good, why hide it.
Padmé could feel her own unique brightness within herself, it was more like her mother's, but it was different, very different, she could tell that without being told.
But it didn't matter, she had all she needed with the brightness, her friends and her mothers. She didn't need anything else.
And she liked that.
XXX
Kaeden set Padmé down in her hanging cradle and gently swayed the basket back and forth for her. Behind her, Ahsoka, Rinu and Zevra were finalizing their decision
"So it's official, that's the one we want?" Ahsoka asked the two older women.
"Yes, even without all the benefits it has, who doesn't want to live on their own personal mini planet?" Zevra said enthusiastically.
The asteroid base had been picked as the best option, much to Kaeden's delight. A full review showed that it wasn't too far from some place with adequate medical care, but it also had its own fully equipped medical wing, with operating rooms and the like. The center of the base was a massive plain of nutrient rich dirt and rock with some rock formations scattered throughout it. She could grow whatever she wanted there.
It was self sufficient and had been fine without maintenance for centuries.
It was easily the best option.
"Alright, I'll let Bail know." Ahsoka said.
She moved to leave the room, but Zevra stopped her.
"I'll let him know, you go get some sleep." Zevra instructed sternly.
Ahsoka frowned at the woman and was clearly thinking about arguing, until Rinu stood beside her wife and gave her that look. Kaeden could only describe it as a sort of mom stare. Rinu was very good at it.
It was easy to forget that the Tholothian and Mirialan were older than them, and could tell them what to do every once and a while. The pair was usually right.
Ahsoka grumbled and muttered under her breath before giving her reluctantly permission for Zevra to report back in her place. Zevra gave her a friendly pat on the shoulder as she passed. Rinu bid them goodnight and left behind her wife.
Kaeden stifled a laugh at Ahsoka's grumpy expression, she was just like an upset Tooka sometimes.
"Are you grumpy?" She asked when Ahsoka slid into bed next to her.
Her wife huffed and crossed her arms. She's grumpy today.
Kaeden wrapped her arms around Ahsoka's torso and pulled her close, she rested her head on her shoulder and hummed softly.
"I like it when you aren't busy before bed." She said, kissing Ahsoka's cheek.
Ahsoka cracked, her tension and grumpiness melted away. She still didn't say anything, she must've been tired.
"Let's get to bed, Soka." Kaeden said.
She got Padmé from the hanging cradle and pulled the gate down on her crib. She set Padmé down and watched with a smile as she immediately gravitated towards her favorite blanket.
Ahsoka was already under the covers and half asleep once Kaeden got in next to her.
"Sweet dreams Soka." She whispered, turning out the lights.
________________________________________________________________________________
Force fuckery bullshit pregnancies are the worst thing ever, -1000/10 would not recommend - Ahsoka Tano, circa 16 BBY
Bail, and Breha, are just the first of Padmé's many, many aunts and uncles.
That asteroid planet thing is about twice the size of the Ceres asteroid btw.
Though Ahsoka and Kaeden are nominally adults, they still act like teenagers sometimes, thus Rinu and Zevra must parent their boss, don't get me wrong Ahsoka is very good at the fulcrum/spy/leading a rebel cell thing, but she is not the best at making sure she eats or sleeps.
Just so you know the contact is not Barriss! Definitely not Barriss and I am not trying to mess with you, it's not Barriss! She has a completely different role in the story😊!
That being said, this story is part of a larger story that spans a couple of fics and I kinda gotta work things out more with the one set earlier in the timeline, cause it impacts what happens here, it'll all work out and eventually you shall see all the stories unite! I've got a bunch of different but connected stories set in the same alternate universe which I fondly call "force fuckery bullshit spawned babies universe", there are a few of those guys running around, Padmé is just the newest.
For now updates might be a bit slower with this, sorry.
I kinda liked doing the universe galaxy from Padmé's lil baby perspective and the simple way she understands all these different complex things.
Happy pride month🌈
I hope you all have a good day, whatever that is for you!

Adjusting
Summary: Ahsoka and Kaeden adjust to their duties in the early rebellion and their month old daughter while Ahsoka grapples with the fallout of her pregnancy.
Word count: 2k
Warnings: Post partum cramps, post partum depression, pain, blood, menstrual blood. Breast feeding and lactation are mentioned. And lots of lovey dovey fluff!
A/N: All of the post partum stuff waited a bit to hit and last longer than they should for a normal pregnancy for reasons. I did do my research on the topic back when I wrote this, so I know what happens after pregnancy. It's not pretty. Most of this chapter comes from Kaeden's perspective.

________________________________________________________________________________
Kaeden turned the alarm off before it could wake Ahsoka. It was feeding time for Padmé.
She picked the tiny infant up out of her bedside crib and gently roused her. The soft glow of night vision eyes told her the little girl was awake.
"Morning sweetie, it's feeding time." She whispered softly.
Padmé yawned and nuzzled into her warm mother. Kaeden patted her back and went to the feeding chair. She found a cradle hold most comfortable for feeding. Ahsoka prefered a laying down position which was easier on her, especially for night feedings.
She lifted up the flap of her nursing shirt and let her daughter latch on.
It was the weirdest thing, while Ahsoka had been gone, Kaeden had noticed her own body acting as though it were pregnant or expecting. She never developed any baby bump or those parts of a pseudo pregnancy. She'd done a few scans on herself to see what was going on and the results told her that her body just decided it needed to prepare for lactation.
To say she was confused, was saying the least. She'd been completely dumbfounded by the whole experience and decided to consult the translated copies of the nightsister books in Ahsoka's possession, since that was how they found out exactly what was going on in the first place. A part her wife had missed the first look was that this sort of pregnancy affected all partners, while one would carry and do the normal pregnancy stuff, except faster, and the others would have their body think it was having a baby that they needed milk for.
So, in an alarming turn of events, Kaeden, although she hadn't been pregnant, was producing milk for their daughter. She'd told Ahsoka, and they shared the feeding duties. She knew Ahsoka was grateful for the breaks, her cramps would sometimes get worse when feeding.
It was an adjustment for both of them, to say the least, they tried making a feeding schedule but ended up settling on whoever was closest or most awake or most rested to take the next feeding.
Their whole situation was a big adjustment.
Kaeden looked down at Padmé, she was slowing down. Kaeden rocked gently, easing her daughter back to sleep.
It wasn't a situation she'd change for anything, well, she'd definitely convince Ahsoka to give birth here instead of whatever frozen backwater she went to if she had the chance.
She glanced over at Ahsoka's sleeping form. Unfortunately, Ahsoka had to deal with postnatal cramps, she could see the discomfort on her wife's face from here.
I'll go get her a pain relief pill. She left their room quietly with Padmé.
XXX
Ahsoka woke up with a powerful and painful cramp, she groaned and waited for it to pass. Her Jedi training surprisingly came in handy for this, it helped her focus on other things and ignore the pain.
However, her focus landed on the cold wetness on her sheets.
She was leaking, again.
She rolled over to get out of bed and change her shirt and maybe get the extra sheet she'd been sleeping with since returning. But then another cramp hit her and she decided to stay put.
Very quickly, she noticed the absence of warmth in her bed. Kaeden was gone.
Maybe she caught it before me and-! The alarm went off, so Padmé needed a feeding. Odd, it felt like more than two hours she'd been asleep.
Ahsoka begrudgingly hauled herself out of bed, then she noticed Padmé was gone too. Kaeden must be feeding her. Ahsoka realised.
She was content with that and settled back down into bed.
The door opened quietly, the mattress dipped, Kaeden's warm hand brushed her shoulder.
"Soka, I've got you a pain relief." Kaeden whispered.
Ahsoka rolled over and took the pill from her wife. Kaeden was holding Padmé, her hunch had been correct.
"You feed Padmé?" She asked in a soft murmur.
"Yep, she's fed, I'll take the next feeding too." Kaeden told her.
"M'kay." Ahsoka was too tired to argue with her wife right now.
Keaden leaned over and planted a few small kisses on her cheek.
"Get some rest, Soka, you deserve it." Kaeden whispered.
Ahsoka drifted back to sleep with the comforting sound of her wife's steady heartbeat.
XXX
Kaeden heard something break, then shouting and cursing from the kitchen. She popped her head around the corner to see what had happened.
Ahsoka was standing in the kitchen with half a broken bowl on the counter, the other half was on the floor with the splattered batter mixture. Her face was flushed and she was sniffling. She looked up to Kaeden and offered a weak smile.
"Hi Kay." She gave a little wave, then she started crying.
"Oh Soka, what's wrong? What happened?" Kaeden strode across the kitchen and let Ahsoka cry into her.
She didn't speak for a while, Kaeden was content to stay with her in silence.
"Fuck. Kaeden, I'm so tired." Ahsoka muttered.
"How can I help you?" Kaeden asked.
Ahsoka frowned.
"I don't know, I just- there's so much going on with the baby and the bleeding and the hormones flying all over the place and all the postnatal stuff that decided it could wait till I was back to start showing up and and, just everything! I feel like I'm drowning!" Ahsoka shouted.
Padmé, who was seated in her carrier, the only thing they had that would be easy to carry around everywhere, at the table, suddenly woke up. Her face scrunched up and she started crying.
"Fuck." Ahsoka groaned
Kaeden left her wife briefly and went to sooth the bawling infant. She lifted Padmé out of the carrier, cradling her in her arms close to her chest and rocking back and forth lightly.
She could see Ahsoka watching her from the corner of her eye, she knew Ahsoka was already feeling guilty for waking their daughter up.
"'m sorry Kay." Ahsoka murmured.
"It's fine, we'll clean it up and Padmé will be back to sleep in no time. It's not your fault." Kaeden told her wife, pressing a gentle kiss onto her cheek.
Truthfully, she doubted that the shouting had woken Padmé up, since the infant had slept through the breaking bowl. She assumed it was a response to Ahsoka's emotions more than anything else, the little one was Force sensitive.
"Don't worry Soka, we'll get the hang of this in no time." She said, hoping to encourage Ahsoka.
Ahsoka just gave her an unconvinced nod. She'd have to get better at convincing her.
XXX
Kaeden heard water running and sloshing in the fresher as she finished drying out her hair from her shower. Padmé cooed sleepily, it was almost time for bed, for both of them. Managing a ship, rebel duties and a newborn was beyond exhausting. She was so grateful for Zevra and Rinu and all the desperately needed help they gave. She smiled down at her daughter, patting her fuzzy head before knocking on the fresher door.
"Soka? You in there?" Kaeden asked.
She got a soft sound of conformation. Kaeden slipped in and shut the door softly. She could smell blood, and didn't even need to look to know where it was coming from.
Ahsoka's postnatal cramps were certainly a bitch.
A bloody fucking bitch.
Ahsoka was laying in the tub with her head resting against the edge, the water was tainted red. Instead of gently reminding Ahsoka that she shouldn't lay in the tub while her cervix was still somewhat dilated, as she probably should have, Kaeden just sat down next to the tub. She knew Ahsoka had just wanted to lay down and not be standing.
Ahsoka was tired, so tired. Her bright eyes were dulled with exhaustion, she had big bags under her eyes. She hardly registered Kaeden's presence, only glancing at her a few times.
"I'll feed Padmé and get her to bed if you want a few more minutes, Soka." Kaeden whispered.
Ahsoka didn't offer much of a response, only giving a small nod of acknowledgement. Kaeden left as quietly as she could manage. She settled in the rocking chair and let Padmé feed, rocking occasionally to lull the infant to sleep.
Padmé yawned a few times, Kaeden burped her, and waited for her to fall asleep. She set Padmé down in her crib, swaddled in the purple star blanket that was undoubtedly her favorite, then went back to the fresher to check on Ahsoka.
Her wife was still sitting there in the slightly bloody water. Dull, tired eyes glanced over at her, Kaeden smiled a bit.
"Soka, I think it's time to sleep, you look really tired." Kaeden said softly.
Ahsoka sighed and slowly sat up, Kaeden turned the water on low so she could help Ahsoka rinse off. She gently poured warm water over Ahsoka until the tint of red was washed away. She retrieved a chilled pad for Ahsoka and helped her dry off. It was fine if Ahsoka was tired, too tired to properly take care of herself at the end of a long day, Kaeden didn't mind doing it for her.
Suddenly, Ahsoka spoke.
"… I'm sorry Kay…"
Kaeden shot her wife a confused stare.
"Whatever for?" She asked.
"I'm sorry I can't do anything, I feel like I've hardly done anything since I got back and you have been doing everything I should be doing. I feel so disorganized and scattered, I can hardly focus long enough to get anything done, I'm just worrying about everything for no reason and I'm so stupid tired all the time. I can't do anything and half the time I'm hardly even here, I'm always thinking and worrying and tired and it doesn't make any sense!" Ahsoka erupted, quickly wincing at the accidental shouting.
"I'm sorry that you have to do everything for me. I'm trying. I'm really, really trying. I don't know what's wrong with me." Ahsoka murmured.
Kaeden took a second to gather her words. She had never been the greatest with words, in her own opinion.
"Soka, there's nothing wrong with any of that, it's normal to be tired and have anxiety like you do after giving birth, it's all normal." She said.
"And I don't mind having to take care of you, I like taking care of you. You were always running around, working yourself into the ground and trying to take care of everyone else before, you never let me take care of you." Kaeden took one of Ahsoka's hands in hers.
"You don't need to apologize, I really don't mind, and you just went through one of the weirdest pregnancies ever, it would be wrong of me to be upset with you for the fallout of that, especially when I wasn't affected the same way as you were. You don't need to worry Ahsoka, I wouldn't stop loving you if you annoyed me for a bit." Kaeden leaned forwards and pressed a small kiss onto Ahsoka's forehead.
"I love you, and I love everything that comes with you, good and bad, I can find a way to love it all. I'll always be here when you need me, you'll never chase me away." Kaeden murmured, her lips brushing against Ahsoka's skin.
"C'mon, let's go to bed."
She helped Ahsoka out of the tub and into a pair of fresh clothes. She did mean everything she had said, she loved everything about Ahsoka, from her protective worry to her inspiring courage and everything else in between. While some things did frustrate her, like Ahsoka's stubbornness, it wasn't that much of a problem and she loved that stubbornness too.
She led Ahsoka to bed and laid down with her, once she got Padmé's crib attached to the bed so the baby could roll over to them if she wished. She wrapped her arms around Ahsoka and murmured soft, encouraging words between gentle kisses, as Ahsoka had done with her right after Raada. Well, not the kissing.
"Don't worry Soka, we'll get the hang of this, it'll just take time, but we'll get there." Kaeden whispered.
Ahsoka nodded and mumbled something, she was already half asleep. Kaeden smiled at her sleeping wife.
"I love you Soka, sleep tight." She gave Ahsoka a final kiss before letting herself go to sleep.
________________________________________________________________________________
Poor Ahsoka, she's going through some rough times. Good thing she has Kaeden! And Zevra and Rinu. Also Bail definitely gave her a good maternity leave, but Ahsoka can't sit still and is doing stuff anyway.
Also Kaeden and Ahsoka shifted from calling each other girlfriend and partner to wife because, they've got a kid now so why not?
I think next chapter I'm gonna have Bail visit to lend the Fulcrums Artoo and see the baby! It's probably gonna be a bit of a shorter chapter, like how this was.
I hope you all have a good day, whatever that is for you!

Tumblr media
Kaesoka Child AU link here.
Zevra is the Tholothian woman on the right, Rinu is the Mirialan woman on the left, the Tholothian/Mirialan hybrid boy in the middle is Zevra's oldest kid, Xan, the hybrid girl Xan is holding is Keriss(the one who looks like she's seeing something suspicious), and the little boy being held by Rinu is Vylo(the one looking at the cat). The Tooka is Aatoo(pronounce it like achoo).
Zevra and Rinu are both 26, Xan is 6, and Keriss and Vylo are twins and two and a half. The kids are Zevra's and not biologically Rinu's, Zevra had the kids with her ex husband, some (also purple) Mirialan dude, he died before the twins were born. Aatoo was a gift from him to Xan btw.
After that Zevra got stuck in an abusive situation, while she was still pregnant, went from partner death to abusive relationship real fast. She got out of the situation but it left some scars on her and Xan, the twins don't remember it.
Zevra and Rinu met during the final year of the clone wars, both worked for their respective planets governments as some form of special agent to keep their planets as out of the war as possible. They hit it off and eventually got married, then Empire, and they, specifically Rinu cause she knows something she shouldn't(that's how she lost her arm) were targeted and had to go into hiding.
They got involved with the rebellion, since they went to Aldaraan as refugees but they're both good at getting information and getting into places without getting caught. When Ahsoka joined the rebellion, they became part of her cell, which primarily deals with information.
They help Ahsoka with her fulcrum stuff when they can and keep the place from falling apart cause the other half of their cell is two sapphic in love traumatized goofs, one has minimal life skills. And while they are also two sapphic in love traumatized goofs, they are functional sapphic in love traumatized goofs that can adult.
So they're basically the parents and in charge when there's no missions. Ahsoka and Kaeden don't mind, both had to grow up too quick and like having parental figures again.
This has been a project that's taken me a long time to complete, from the paper sketch to this has taken almost a year.
Tumblr media
It's mostly taken this long because it was largely a project I had on the back burner since more fun/interesting/less complicated projects or ideas came up and I did those first, I've worked on this in patches and it would just just sitting around in various phases cause it is a big project, 6 characters! ibis paint usual doesn't handle my projects with two characters very well, granted those are usually characters with more going on and therefore more layers but still. So whenever some other project needed to be restored cause it crashed and I didn't want to sit around waiting during the day, I'd pop on over to this and try to work on it.
When I finished the coloring I just left it waiting to be shaded cause I was too busy with other projects I felt were more important.
You can definitely tell I rushed it in some areas, specifically the kids clothing all being the same colors cause I just wanted it to be done and the premise of this picture is that they are getting a family photo so some matching I guess?
I really just had to commit myself to getting it done and now that it is done, I feel very good about it, this thing has been haughting me for almost a year with my lack of motivation to finish it, it feels good to have it done.
Tomorrow is Halloween! Yay! I hope it's a fun, safe night for everyone!
I hope you all have a good day, whatever that is for you.

Moving
Summary: Ahsoka, Kaeden and their shipmates move into a new, more permanent base in a hidden sector of space, moving turns out to be a more difficult task with a six year old, two toddlers and a baby.
Word count: 1.9k
Warnings:
A/N: moving shenanigans and wlw couples with kids. And a lot of this is Kaeden and Ahsoka calling each other "wife". I'm not sorry, I had so much fun writing this.
Kaesoka Child AU link here.
________________________________________________________________________________
"Kay! Do you have any tape?! I'm out!" Kaeden heard her wife's voice call out from the kitchen.
She looked down at the roll of tape she had, it was out too. She did a quick glance of the room, no tape. I could've sworn I'd brought some with me.
"I don't have any! I'll go check with Zevra and Rinu!" She called back.
The couple were probably in their room packing their things. Their little cell, if one could call three spies, a medic and the four kids they had a rebel cell, were being moved to a new operating location. They were moving to a new base, hopefully it was an upgrade with more space.
She poked her head in the room, the Tholothian and Mirilian were looking for something.
"You have any tape?" She asked.
"That's what we're looking for." Zevra said, exasperated.
"We ran out and I asked Xan to get some more." Rinu said.
"Soka and me are out too." Kaeden sighed.
"Wait a second, where are the kids? I haven't seen any of them in a while." She asked once she realized that none of the kids were in the room.
Zevra's eyes widened and she shoved past Kaeden out the door.
"Shit!" She cursed as she ran down the halls.
Kaeden peeked out the door after her. She knew Zevra was very protective over her children, but she assumed she'd have reacted the same way if she didn't know Padmé was with Ahsoka. She glanced back to Rinu for an explanation.
"The kids like playing with sticky things, they've probably gotten the tape." She informed her.
"Oh."
XXX
Kaeden gently pulled a crumpled ball of tape away from Padmé. She was given a confused look before Padmé started sucking her thumb. It was her turn to watch Padmé. Ahsoka was moving their boxes and crates into the shuttle, a task that was a little too dangerous for their baby.
She gently bounced Padmé, eliciting a happy squeal from her daughter. She heard a commotion from the docking bay of their ship, moving sure was a hassle with so many little helpers around.
"Suppose we go and help them, Padmé?" She asked as she got up.
Padmé giggled and cheered, she liked to move, she was a very active little baby.
Kaeden peeked into the docking bay and saw that Xan had knocked the transport dolly over. She shook her head and shifted Padmé to one arm so she could help clean the mess.
XXX
"Kay, do you think we have everything?" Ahsoka asked.
Kaeden rested a gentle hand on her wife's shoulder, she relaxed with the touch.
"We've gone through everything in the shuttle three times, and we've checked every room for anything left. We have everything." She reassured her anxious wife.
Ahsoka took several deep breaths and looked at her with a hint of embarrassment in her face.
"You'd think a former army commander would be less nervous about a simple move, right?" She said in a half hearted attempt at a joke.
"I expected nothing less from you, Soka. You always need to be prepared for everything." Kaeden said with an affectionate roll of her eyes.
"Oh, shut up." Ahsoka huffed in faux anger.
Kaeden pulled her closer and gave her a small kiss.
Padmé squeaked happily from her carrier. The infant girl liked when her mothers were together, everything felt right and the light from her mothers brightened. She liked the light she could feel in both of them, it was always full of warmth and safety.
"Ahsoka! Kaeden! We're ready if you are!" Rinu said through the speakers.
Kaeden glanced around at the empty base, then Ahsoka and smiled.
"Ready Soka?" She held her hand out.
Ahsoka took her hand and squeezed. Through the nervousness, Kaeden could see a glimmer of excitement in her wife's eyes.
"Ready."
XXX
Kaeden set her hand on Ahsoka's bouncing knee. Padmé didn't like the sporadic, nervous bouncing and was voicing her displeasure with her Togruta mother.
"It's all going to be fine, Ahsoka. Everything will be fine." Kaeden reassured her again.
"I know, I just can't stop myself from worrying." Ahsoka sighed and looked down into the happy gray and blue eyes of their daughter.
There was such intelegence behind those eyes, especially for an infant of less than a year. But this silent intelegence was one Ahsoka had seen in other Force sensitive infants, she supposed she had too as an infant. That tugged at an old bother in her mind of when she was an infant, and her own mother, what she remembered of her.
"What is it?" Kaeden asked, picking up on her troubles.
"I'm just thinking." Ahsoka was thankful for Kaeden's intuition, she didn't have to get deep into things anymore, simple responses that could easily be filled in.
"Thinking about your mother again?" Kaeden inferred.
"Yeah, I wonder where she is now, if she ever had any other kids, what her life is like now. Just the usual thoughts." Ahsoka said.
"Well, maybe we can take a trip to Shili and get an answer to some of those questions?" Kaeden suggested with a smile.
Ahsoka shot her a shocked look.
"It's been so long, do you think she'll even recognize me?" She asked.
Her mother had given her to the Jedi, though it didn't usual mean an uncaring parent, she was forever bothered by the fact that it could have been the case with her. In those moments she would think back to meeting Master Plo, when the slaver had tried to take her... she remembered her mother being hesitant about the false Jedi, and she remembered her mother trusting her instincts that Master Plo was good and, her mother's face seeing her off, the sad happiness.
Her mother had loved her, and hadn't given her up because she didn't care. She had been given to the Jedi so that she would be safe, and so that no one like the Zygerrian tried to take her again. That close call must have given her mother a fright, Ahsoka looked down to Padmé, chewing on her blanket with her toothless mouth. She could understand that reasoning now more than ever.
"I know she will, if she doesn't know just by looking at you then all you have to do is tell her your name, she gave it to you." Kaeden told her.
She wrapped one arm around Ahsoka's shoulders and ruffled Padmé's short fuzzy hair with the other.
"We'd both recognize Padmé, even if we haven't her in seventeen years." Kaeden said.
Ahsoka smiled at her wife's reasoning, she was right. If they ever made a trip to Shili, and she saw her mother again, she would be recognized.
Kaeden suddenly let out a gasp. Ahsoka looked away from Padmé to check on her. It was just Morai.
The convor had decided to make Kaeden's head her temporary nest. Her silent, unexpected approach must've startled Kaeden.
"Soka, your bird almost gave me a heart attack." Kaeden told her.
Though her wife's face was straight, Ahsoka couldn't take her seriously with Morai flapping her wings and twisting her head upside down.
Padmé giggled and made grabby hands towards Morai. She silently fluttered over and landed on Ahsoka's arm. The convor hung her tail over Padmé's face, swishing it as Padmé tried to bite it.
Kaeden laughed at the little game, the sound of her laughter mixing with Morai's soft coos and Padmé's giggling was enough for Ahsoka to let her guard down.
Everything would be okay. Yeah. It would be okay.
XXX
Ahsoka stepped off the ship into her cell's new base.
It was an old, but still extremely well functioning base, they hadn't found who made it, best bet was Mandalorians, built into a large asteroid in the middle of a massive asteroid belt. It was in the Outer Rim near wild space so it was a near perfect base for a smaller group of operatives. Senator Organa had suggested this one to them personally.
"This place is in surprisingly nice for not being used in a thousand years." Zevra commented as she came off the ship with several bags and boxes in her arms.
Maker, that woman was strong.
"Mom! Ahsoka! Kaeden! Come look! Mama found the coolest thing ever!" Xan shouted, running up to grab her hand and pulling her across the hangar.
Ahsoka let the young boy pull her along, giving Kaeden a helpless smile as she passed by. Her wife merely laughed and followed her.
The metal beneath her feet changed to carpet, then some type of wood flooring, and back to metal. About five minutes later, Xan skidded to a stop and pressed his face against a thick wall of glass.
"Isn't it cool? Mama says we can put new stuff in the unplanted and dead areas! We can make a whole world in our backyard!" Xan cheered.
Ahsoka felt a twinge of pity for the kid who'd spent his whole life either in a pacted city or on small space ships. The wide open space in front of them with dying and further back, surviving greenery, was probably the biggest this kid had ever been able to live in.
Ahsoka felt more confident in the new base seeing the 'garden' it came with. The indoor outdoor space was truly huge, and it was constructed to replicate the average type one atmosphere, so most flora, and fauna too, could thrive in it.
It would be fun to plant and grow in there. Ahsoka had developed a fascination with growing things, seeing them thrive and grow. She didn't know where it started but it was just fun now.
She was glad the rebellion didn't need her much right now, she could be with her wife and daughter. She could make sure they stayed safe too.
"That will be great to grow in." Kaeden commented.
Her wife frowned, Ahsoka knew what would come next.
"That soil could probably use a nutrient boost, and beneficial bacteria to add, and new soil added in to freshen it up…" Kaeden's voice dulled out as Ahsoka got lost in her.
The animated movements, the light in her brown eyes, that smile on her face. Kaeden's passion and knowledge on plants and soil and what exactly an area of land needed to be conducive to growing. It was amazing to Ahsoka, and she loved seeing it in action.
She loved everything Kaeden did, she made everything amazing, she could do anything if she really wanted to, she was so strong and kind and wonderful. No wonder she fell in love with her.
Ahsoka took Kaeden's hand and pulled her into a kiss, startling her into stopping her plant rant. A shame, but Ahsoka could get another one later.
Kaeden chuckled, breaking the kiss and resting her forehead against Ahsoka's. She smiled, admiration and affection in those beautiful brown eyes.
"Was I talking too much, Soka?" She asked teasingly.
"You could talk forever and I'd never get tired of your voice." Ahsoka cupped her wife's face and kissed her again.
She could kiss Kaeden forever.
Padmé laughed and giggled around her thumb, which she'd been sucking on. She could feel the strong feelings between her mothers, flowing into and out of each other in a harmonic dance of energy in the Force.
________________________________________________________________________________
I just realized that at this point in the timeline, Ahsoka and Kaeden are both still under 20, and they have a baby(and very little idea of what they are doing, they're better than when they started at least). They are lucky they have Zevra and Rinu with them, teaching them the ways of space lesbian young parents. Zevra and Rinu are both 26.
I do plan on getting Ahsoka's mom involved in this au eventually and a trip to Shili so that'll be fun. Also, I'm gonna put this AU on ao3 soon.
I hope you all have a good day, whatever that is for you.
VJS out!.

________________________________________________________________________________
Ahsoka picked up the unmarked box that wasn't one of theirs. It wasn't terribly heavy and didn't look dangerous. She cut it open with one of Rinu's small vibro blades that were being used as box openers.
She found a letter sitting atop a crinkly paper covering. It had the ancient seal of the Alderaanian royal family on the envelope. Organa must've sent it.
She opened the letter.
'Fulcrum, we do hope that you and your cell are making yourselves at home in your new location, and we know that your daughter will be a year old in a few months, if she's anything like ours, this is where the fun begins. Inside the package is a collection of resources we found very useful and helpful with our own daughter. We hope your little one likes them as much as ours did!'
Ahsoka smiled at the letter, the Organas had been especially understanding when it came to her cell's younglings. I wonder if we can ever bring Padmé around to see their daughter. Ahsoka briefly entertained the idea of proposing a playdate, but let it go. Even though Bail had suggested it when he learned of Ahsoka's successful pregnancy, Ahsoka was too busy and didn't think her daughter would fit in too well with a palace setting at the time.
Now she knew Padmé would stick out like a sore thumb, not even as a Force sensitive but just as a hybrid, and admittedly, her five month old daughter had already proven herself to be a little wild.
Ahsoka set the letter aside to be stored, and began to sort through the box. Padmé giggled from her little play spot next to her. It was a pair of boxes tilted on their sides that Xan had decorated with shiny ribbons that hung from the tops. Padmé also had a ball she was playing with. Her little face was currently squished into the rubbery surface.
"Having fun Tazi Ghya?" She asked.
Padmé babbled in response with a happy squeal.
Ahsoka went back to sorting for the next couple minutes, until Kaeden came in to take what she had sorted to where it belonged. They had finally gotten the whole place cleaned to livable, child safe standards two days ago, it wasn't anything too bad but centuries of disuse would leave a mark.
"What have we got here?" Kaeden prompted, peering over her shoulder.
"Some baby stuff from the Organas." Ahsoka responded.
"That was nice of them." Kaeden mused.
Padmé's ball smacked against the box she was playing near with a rubbery slap. Ahsoka glanced over to check on her daughter, she was making her adorable yet slightly destructive grabby hands at the ball. She was also wiggling her legs a lot.
"I'll get it." Kaeden said, rising to get the toy.
"Don't." Ahsoka pulled her back down.
She narrowed her eyes at her daughter, something told her that Padmé could handle this situation herself.
"I wanna see what she'll do." She said to her confused wife.
Padmé made her grabby hands, the ball wobbled but didn't move any closer. She glared adorable at the ball that was not listening to her. She kicked her legs and got them underneath her.
Then she pushed up and crawled over to the ball like it was nothing. A strange sense of relief flooded Ahsoka, despite all the weirdness of her birth, Padmé looked to be developing normally.
"She just crawled! She's crawling already?! I didn't know babies could crawl that fast!" Kaeden gasped.
"Togrutas start to crawl at around four or five months, she's right on schedule." Ahsoka said.
Kaeden cast her a relieved look. With the way her pregnancy had gone, they'd had the same worry about their daughter's development.
XXX
Padmé didn't crawl much, she often had to be motivated to move and even then couldn't be bothered. She was perfectly content to be picked up and carried around, it was less effort that way. She was very smart for being five months old.
She only crawled if she really wanted to get something.
Like right now, she was trying to get to the snack table. Her front teeth had started to come in, her fangs had developed a bit earlier than normal. With her new teeth came the urge to use them and her carnivorous instincts were driving her to practice "hunting". Her little one’s hunting activities were another reason to get her a chew toy soon, so far her teething had only activated her urge to hunt, it wasn't hurting or giving her the urge to chew on everything just yet.
So she was trying to steal Keriss's food while the older girl wasn't looking.
Ahsoka kept a lazy eye on her daughter, ready to intervene in case her "hunt" was successful. Padmé could bite stuff, she couldn't chew, and she was still breastfeeding.
The other kids knew Padmé wasn't allowed to eat food and not to give any to her. Vylo and Keriss, being toddlers often forgot or dropped food, Xan was constantly watching out for any stray food that Padmé might snatch. Her budding Force powers made keeping her out of things a very interesting challenge.
Padmé crawled to the table and sat there, staring up at the plate half off the table. Her little face scrunched up with focus and the plate tipped that bit it needed to topple down. She giggled gleefully and clapped her hands, then scooted towards her "kill".
Ahsoka (gently) Force pulled her daughter over to her before she could get her little hands on it.
Padmé wriggled until she could give her that adorable little baby scowl.
“Oh don't give me that look.” She scolded.
Padmé grunted and snorted in her direction. Ahsoka rolled her eyes, she was so fussy sometimes.
“You know you can't eat that, you don't have your back teeth yet.” She said.
Padmé whined and flopped around her arms dramatically.
“You're such a little drama queen.” Ahsoka sighed.
XXX
Ahsoka glanced up as Xan peeked into the room she was working on.
“Need some help?” She prompted the young boy.
“Uh, Padmé is biting stuff again.” Xan told her.
“Has my package gotten here yet?” She asked with a sigh.
“Don't think so.” He shook his head.
“Alright, I'll handle it.” She said.
In the last check-in with command, she had made the request for a Togruta teething toy, and was told that it might be a while.
In absence of anything suitable, Padmé had begun to chew on anything she could get her hands on and really liked to chew the ends of her lekku, as most teething Togruta did. The ends of their lekku didn't have many pain receptors to compensate for the behavior, it was good to encourage chewing lekku instead of something possibly dangerous, of course they weren't supposed to let it happen for the whole of the teething process.
Ahsoka peered into the still being put together playroom and sure enough, Padmé was happily chewing on some toy that definitely wasn't hers.
“Padmé.” She sighed.
The five month old baby looked over at her and smiled around her “prey”, proudly showing off her “kill”.
It was instinct to hunt and gift, the gifting was a bit of a show off behavior to prove that she was strong. She couldn't just tell Padmé to stop, as she understood it was bad to discourage these instincts, they had a reason to exist. It would probably negatively impact her if she wasn't receptive, and she would eventually grow out of the show off behavior anyway, but it was a little irritating when she didn't have anything that she could let Padmé keep.
Ahsoka leaned over and let her lekku hang down, immediately Padmé forgot about the toy and reached for her lekku with her little baby hands. She picked up her daughter and let her grab onto one of her lekku, hardly noticing when.
“It's all good now kids.” Ahsoka called.
She took Padmé with her back to the room she was working in.
This was just another thing she had to get used to.

King's Tide Spoilers below⬇
The Collector is now my favorite, he finally did what I've been asking for since Hollow Mind, he made Belos feel a lot of pain.
Belos went splat!
I've watched Belos go splat so many times, it feels so good!
On the topic of Belos, he 1000000% said Caleb and you will not convince me otherwise.
I love the Collector's design, they are cute and terrifying so you know, every child ever. I love his little hat and want one. Kid just looks comfy.
The Palisman noticing everyone is hangry was so cute and the Palisman cuddle was adorable!
Kikimora redemption happened I think.
Fuck Belos and his goopy remains!
Holy fuck that's a lot more Golden Guards than I thought there'd be, Belos killed his brother so many times! I'm glad Hunter didn't see it, the boy's dealing with enough.
The Collector was so happy to see King, it was really kinda cute. I love how everyone is scared of the Collector, especially after what he did to Belos.
Hunter's little squeak was really funny and also sad cause he has more problems to deal with now.
Gus got the Luz and Hunter treatment, I guarantee he saw all that shit and is now fucked up.
The episode gave more Hunter Gus brother content! That's good.
Seeing Hunter so worried for Darius hurt.
I wish we got to know more about Darius and Eberwolf's relationship, cause if Eberwolf died there wouldn't have been enough time to get their replacement but Darius really cares about his gremlin friend.
I hope that Eberwolf, Raine and Darius are okay, the rest of the coven heads can die, I'd be fine with that.
I wonder what game King will come up with to keep the Collector entertained.
King's sacrifice for Luz and him calling her hos big sister broke me, and Luz opening the door trying to get back was so sad.
All those kids are seperated from their families and they have no idea what has happened to them. Amity and Hunter probably think their dads are dead.
I saw that little Anne cameo, it was funny.
The Belos goop closing the door scared the shit out of me. So I guess he isn't fully deas.
Bad because Belos kinda lives, good cause I get to see him die again! Yay!
I hope all the Palisman are with the kids, they all need their emotional support pets.
I'm excited for season 3 to come out in... a year at most maybe?
I'm still gonna do owl house stuff and also get back to more Star Wars stuff cause that new show has a baby Ahsoka and nothing will stop me from drawing a bunch of baby Sokas! I'll probably be finishing up some of my wips for my Kaesoka child AU, and other Star Wars wips and some stuff for June!
Alright have a nice day everyone!

Kaesoka Family AU chapter 7
Summary: Ahsoka's cell moves to a new base
Word count: 2.9k
Warnings: mentions of past child abuse, implied child abuse, moving anxiety, mostly fluff!
A/N: Ahsoka Series is amazing and gives me so many fun ideas for when this story gets to that point. It will be so fun! For me😈
Ahsoka Series has imbued me with gay inspiration and I am going to capitalize on the good fuzzy sapphic feels it gives me.

Their little cell, if one could call three spies, a medic and the four kids they had a rebel cell, were moving to a new, much more child friendly operating location. It had taken them two months to work out all the kinks and now they were finally, officially able to move in.
Of course they had to pack everything first, which was proving to be more of a hassle than it looked like.
"The kids like playing with sticky things, they've probably gotten the tape." Rinu informed her.
"Oh. Right."
XXX
Kaeden gently pulled a crumpled ball of tape away from Padmé. She was given a confused look before Padmé started sucking her thumb. It was her turn to watch Padmé. Ahsoka was moving their boxes and crates into the shuttle, a task that was a little too dangerous for their daughter.
Kaeden could only imagine the trouble she'd get into when she started crawling.
Kaeden peeked into the docking bay and saw that Xan had knocked the transport dolly over.
Xan noticed her and looked up with fearful eyes.
"I'm sorry! I'll clean it up!" He blurted, immediately rushing to clean up the mess he had accidentally made.
Inadvertently, he was spreading his own blood in his panic. He must've cut himself on something.
Padmé fussed, an extra obvious sign that Xan was freaking out. Kaeden knelt down to his level and let her hand hover over his shoulder, she didn't actually touch him, it was triggering.
"Xan, are you alright?" She asked softly, trying her best to mimic what Zevra did when her son panicked.
The startled youth blinked at her, seafoam green eyes giving away so much more than he wanted to. He blinked again and plastered on a smile.
"I'm fine." He lied.
He was a pretty good liar for a six year old.
"Xan, you are bleeding." Kaeden pointed out.
Xan looked down at his hands, dozens of tiny cuts criss crossed his dusty mauve skin. His body trembled.
"I made a mess." He stated bluntly.
"Aren't you mad at me?" He asked.
If Kaeden ever found the bastard who fucked this kid up so much, she'd strangle him.
"Of course not. I'm worried that you are hurt." She said.
"Just like your moms would be." She added when he looked unconvinced.
He visibly brightened at the mention of his mothers. Kaeden sat back, satisfied with her results.
"This can get cleaned up later, how about we go get your hands looked at." She said, offering her free hand for him to hold.
He grinned and nodded, eagerly taking her hand with a tight vice grip. Kaeden stood and let the kid cling as close to her as he wanted.
"Think Auntie Soka will be mad?" He asked quietly.
"Of course not." Kaeden told him as they headed for the med bay.
And hey, if a few of the scratches mysteriously vanished by the time they got there, and Padmé was zonked out, who was she to mention it?
XXX
"Kay, do you think we have everything?" Ahsoka asked.
Kaeden rested a gentle hand on her wife's shoulder, she visibly relaxed with the touch.
Padmé didn't like the sporadic, nervous bouncing and was currently voicing her displeasure with her Togruta mother.
"It's all going to be fine, Ahsoka. Everything will be fine." Kaeden reassured her again.
"I know, I just can't stop myself from worrying." Ahsoka sighed and looked down into the happy gray blue and brown eyes of their daughter.
"I'm just thinking." Ahsoka was thankful for Kaeden's intuition, she didn't have to get deep into things anymore, just give simple responses that could easily be filled in.
Ahsoka shot her an alarmed glance.
"It's been so long, do you think she'll even recognize me?" She asked.
Her mother had given her to the Jedi, though it didn't usually mean an uncaring parent, she was forever bothered by the fact that it could have been the case with her.
Yeah. It will be okay.
XXX
Ahsoka stepped off the ship into her cell's new base.
It was an old, but still extremely well functioning base, an anonymous contact of Bail's had offered it, and a few other locations, to his effort, as well as from what Ahsoka gathered, helping in other ways like secret funds and shit like that.
It was certainly nice to have such a well connected, funded ally.
The base was built into a large asteroid that for all intents and purposes, was basically a dwarf planet. It had its own atmosphere and oxygen, both clear signs of a lot of work and altering being done on the rock to make it like that.
It was self sufficient, didn't need maintenance and was in a rather isolated part of the galaxy that nothing had been recorded in, just a couple of young stars and young planets too underdeveloped to be exploited. The perfect base.
Most of the actual structure of it was inside the asteroid, cleverly carved into the rock to be as inconspicuous as possible.
"Damn, this place is pretty clean for being out of use for so long." Zevra commented as she stepped out with an armload of supplies.
The Wookiee raised woman was strong as hell.
Her kids tumbled out into the docking bay and stared around in wide eyed wonder.
"This place is huge!" Xan exclaimed.
Ahsoka chuckled as the six year old ran across the hangar as fast as he could. This was handily the biggest place the kid had ever been able to call home before.
"Can I go explore?!" Xan asked, shouting from the other side of the hangar.
"Sure! Take Keriss and Vylo with you!" Zevra shouted back.
Ahsoka shot the older woman a quizzical glance as the trio of siblings cheered and raced off into the base.
"Are you sure you want them to run around alone? I can go with them and-" she stopped when Zevra put her hand up.
"They'll be fine, there's nothing else here, and all the offshoot halls are closed. They'll stay out from underfoot." She said confidently.
I suppose she knows her kids. Ahsoka thought. She went back to the ship to help unload everything. Kaeden was waiting for her at the ramp with Padmé strapped into a carrier.
XXX
Ahsoka smoothed the last of her blankets out over her bed in the ship, the temporary sleeping situation would help them keep everything organized as they got settled in. Their main goal for today had been unloading all the boxes and crates. They had finished that and were getting ready for dinner, having decided to take care of the whole move in little steps.
The base's kitchen, which was bigger and better equipped to handle so many different things than any other Ahsoka had seen, except for the Jedi Temple, was theoretically perfectly fine to use, but given it hadn't been cleaned in centuries, they aired on the side of caution and would be eating from the ship.
From the smell of it, Zevra was cooking, having held a position as a chef before, Zevra did most of the cooking. Rinu was far better at baking anyway, and while Kaeden could do both, she regularly stated Zevra's was better. She usually helped out, as she was now.
Ahsoka herself couldn't cook to save her life, she didn't really have to since she could eat raw meat and be fine.
She heard the tell tale thump of Xan rushing up the steps. The child raced past her and into the kitchen area, the kids weren't allowed to actually go into the kitchen, for obvious reasons.
"Mom! Aunt Soka! Aunt Kay! Mama found the coolest thing ever! You've gotta see it!" The boy chirped excitedly.
He turned to her with a wide smile on his very dirty face. He was covered with soil and mud.
Zevra peered over at her son and let out a laugh.
"Looks like they found the backyard." She chuckled.
Ahsoka nodded and laughed with her and let the young boy drag her away to show her instead of Zevra. She briefly overheard Kaeden asking Zevra to follow, then her footsteps closing in. Xan beamed when he saw her and he gave a happy little jump.
The metal of the hangar gave way to Wroshyr wood flooring as they entered the corridor from the hangar to the main connective hall that encircled the 'backyard'.
About five minutes of running later, it was a really long hallway, Xan skidded to a stop and cheered.
A wide curved window of thick transparisteel let the sunlight shine on the polished floor. There was a door leading out to the left, opening into the backyard.
Said backyard was more of a central yard or courtyard, it lay at the center of the base and the whole thing was built around it. Most hallways lead to it one way or another.
"Isn't it the coolest thing ever! I can't even see across it! It's huge!" Xan cheered.
Ahsoka felt a twinge of pity for the kid who had spent his whole life in packed cities or compact space ships. He'd never seen any real nature or wildlife in his life. She couldn't wait till he saw the surface of the dwarf planet, there was life on it, imported and adapted to the environment of the dwarf planet. The "backyard" was a more controlled environment that they could plant whatever they wanted in. There was some preexisting flora so they weren't building off of nothing.
Kaeden will have fun here.
One of Ahsoka's favorite things was Kaeden's plant hobby, she was so dedicated to growing and providing the best environment for all her plants, she was a massive plant nerd and it was absolutely adorable.
I'm glad the rebellion doesn't need me right now. Ahsoka thought. It may have been a tad selfish, but she just wanted to be with her wife and daughter for as long as she could.
"That is impressive. Who built this again? I'd like to pick their brains on how they came up with this." Kaeden said, gazing into the backyard.
"I'm pretty sure the original architect is dead," Kaeden pouted in her direction, "but I'm sure you could ask for blueprints or schematics from the owner, they don't seem like the type to throw stuff out." Ahsoka finished.
Kaeden grinned and turned back to examining the backyard. She could see the gears turning in her wife's mind as she surveyed the soil.
"That soil could probably use a nutrient boost, and beneficial bacteria to add, and new soil added in to freshen it up…" Kaeden's voice dulled out as Ahsoka got lost in her.
The animated movements, the light in her rich brown eyes, that smile on her face.
Padmé laughed and giggled around her blanket, she had a habit of chewing on it.
