Redacted Headcannons Shaw pack & Solaire Clan (again)
William’s maker forced him to turn the exact same way Alexis forced Sam, except William and his maker were in bed together when that happened
Angel works as a manager of some sorts to a modeling agency
Babe inherited their biological mother’s company after her death, so babe became the CEO of the company, but they eventually stepped down to be one of the executives/managers (idk) in the company instead
Alexis’s current favorite song is “vampire empire” by Big Thief
Lovely has 6 sisters
When Marie first was befriending William, she wanted him, he was just too perfect of a man, and super kind, I like to imagine she was in the first weeks of pregnancy and William was so kind to her and such a gentleman
Alexis did everything she could to get Marie to back off of William cause she knew Marie wanted him, and Marie eventually backed off after realizing that William will only see her as a friend and he will never love her or care for her the way he does for Alexis since she is his progeny and she’s more important
Amanda was in love with David, but extremely insecure at that time, so when David first brought Angel to a pack meeting to meet the fam, Amanda got extremely jealous to the point where she judged Angel really bad
Christian was in love with Darlin. He was always trying to reach out to them but Darlin was so estranged with the pack that they didn’t bother letting him close or even having a deep conversation with him at all. He never told them he loved them though and because of the way they were so guarded, he assumed it was rejection.
Amanda knew about Christian loving Darlin and always teased him about the rejections. Christian knew about Amanda loving David and when Angel came in the picture, he teased her back about how David loves someone else. Amanda would complain about Angel to Christian like this “what do they even look like” “I bet they must be beautiful” “ but they can’t be Mr/miss universe or something” and when she meets Angel : “ omg of course they’re blonde and pretty, ughhh what do I do now? How do I compete?” “I have to find something lacking in them so I can go warn David” “Christian, come, let’s stalk them for a bit to see what shady lies they might be making” and then Christian is like “wtf? How desperate are you? Like damn.” And that’s how they got closer and started fucking and started falling for each other while simultaneously healing each other, and the great results are that Amanda is no longer insecure.
Treasure is the eldest child
Lovely has never had a job, they always either lived under the care of their parents, ex-husband, and now Vincent

FUCKING BITCH
YOUR A TEENAGER IN THE SHAW PACK AND BRINGING YOUR PARTNER TO A PACK MEETING FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!
For reason, your partner in powered but not in a rival pack, clan, ect.
Requested by @frog-0n-a-l0g <3
Also, I want gonna post this till tmr but I changed my mind, i dislike not having constant posts.
David: is kind and greets them, tells them to tell him is anyone messes with them, ect. But also silently watches them almost creepily....
Asher: you know that scene in the first My Big Fat Greek Wedding? Where Toulas brother meets Ian and is like "I'll kill you, I'm joking! No really, no one will find your body. Just kidding! Totally... joking..." that's Asher. Super kind, but will threaten your partner lightly.
Milo: is with Asher when he threatens your partner. Also nice, but his nice is weirdly unsettling... like yeah he pats your partner on the back and puts his hand on their shoulder... but it's weirdly stiff and threatening. But pretty supportive.
Tank: sits of to the side with Sam. Is silently judging your partners character, but is surprisingly supportive, understands how awkward it is to bring a partner to a pack meeting. Unlike David or asher who had human partners, Tank and Milo have powered partners and it feels like a weird amount of silent pressure. Will be the first to hide their body tho.
Marie: surprisingly doesn't say much. She smacks milo and asher upside the head for being menacing assholes, but she does care. She obviously was with Milo's dad for a while and understands a toxic relationship. So, she's less threatening and more observant on how you and your partner act, how they treat you, how you treat them, so make sure you are in a healthy relationship, even if it's not a forever relationship.

BACKGROUND - triggers for abuse, alcoholism and drug abuse
sade was born as the love child of the son of a famous record producer and a wannabe singer. their affair started with her mother wanting to form a relationship with her father because of his connections with the music industry, but she quickly fell for him, despite the fact that he already had a son and was involved with another woman. her father viewed her mother as a passing fling, nothing more nothing less, and that pissed her mother off. when she fell pregnant with sade, she wanted her father to have nothing to do with her. despite him offering financial help and wanting to see the child that they created together, her mother pushed him away and refused to let him have any contact with sade.
her mother's singing career never took off, so she took up an everyday job as a crossing guard while sade was growing up. they struggled quite a bit, her mother having to take care of her all on her own due to her stubbornness and refusal to accept help from her father. from a young age, sade always asked her mother about the man who helped create her, and she was always given a story about how her father was a deadbeat, horrible man that wanted nothing to do with her and refused to be apart of her life. and like the naive child that she was, she believed her mother.
it didn't take long for her mother's disdain and bitterness towards her ex lover to turn towards sade. her mother had always been a heavy drinker, due to her own demons in her past, however her drinking became even worse after having sade. when she wasn't intoxicated, they had a decent dynamic and relationship. but the big issue was that her mother rarely wasn't intoxicated, and when she was under the influence of alcohol, her true colors shone bright and true. by the time sade was eight years old, she had learned how to avoid her mother during her drinking binges. but even then, it was difficult for her to avoid the abuse, both physical and mental, that her mother put her through whenever she was drunk and going through one of her dark moods, which happened more often than sade likes to dwell on.
the straw that broke the camel's back came about when sade was eleven years old. her mother got a boyfriend who was heavily involved in drugs and alcohol, and got her mother involved in substance abuse as well. if her home life was bad before, it became absolute hell after that. not only did she had to endure her mother, but her mother's boyfriend as well, whom her mother never protected her from. just when life seemed darker than ever, sade was finally granted some grace for once in her life. one of her teachers, whom she still keeps in contact with to this day, contacted CPS, who immediately had sade removed from her childhood home and was placed into the system. it didn't take long for them to track down her birth father, and she was placed into his care full time.
sade was surprised, to say the least, that her father wanted her in the first place. he had to sit an eleven year old sade down and tell her the truth; that it was her mother that had kept her away from him all these years. in fact, he had consistently tried to make contact with her for her entire life, only to be intercepted by her mother. the conversation evoked a multitude of feelings within sade. on one hand, she wanted to hate her mother; but she knew that she never could. sade was a soft hearted and sensitive soul without a hateful bone in her body. despite the negative choices her mother made and the treatment she endured from her, she could never bring herself to hate her. she treated her horribly, but, as few and far between as they were, they had their good moments; the times when her mother was sober and they would sing together, and her mother would tell her that she was destined for great things, as any mother would.
going from being flat broke and struggling with her mother in a tiny, two bedroom apartment in queens, to living in one of the nicest homes in manhattan was a huge culture shock to sade. the homes that she had only seen in passing had become an everyday part of her life. she had access to more money than she could fathom, and she'd be a liar if she tried to say that her preteen self didn't fall into it head first.
she was placed in the best performing arts school in the city, due to both her musical ability and her father's name, and quickly formed friendships with the other children there. due to her naive nature and kind heart, it was easy for her to be swept up in the wrong crowd. she was a good kid with a good heart, but just like her mother, she was very susceptible to dabbling in different things that she definitely shouldn't have as a teen. her friends had been expert partiers since their early teen years, some of them as early as preteens, and they were all too eager for fresh meat to introduce to their lifestyle.
by the time sade was sixteen, she was a hard partier - still is. parties every weekend, hanging out with friends late into the night during the week to drink and dabble in drugs here and there. she couldn't understand why drinking had turned her mother into such a monster when she felt so joyful, confident and loved whenever she was drunk. her father didn't approve of her new friend group, one of the only things she ever butted heads with her father about, and still until this day. but sade disregarded his worry over her, and continued hanging out with them.
after graduating from high school, sade decided to forgo college in favor of pursuing a career in music. from a young age, music had become her safe haven. whenever she was held up in her room as a child, hiding from her mother's wrath, she would listen to music that would help her escape. instead of talking about her problems, she would write them all out in the form of songs and poetry. music ran through her blood, and she wanted to lean into it, dedicate her life to it. it was one of the things that granted her true happiness in life.
she knew that cracking into the music industry would be a tough feat, which was why she didn't hesitate to use her father's name to cut through the red tape. she knew, and knows, that she's very privileged in that regard, and is very grateful for the leg up that she had in the industry because she wouldn't be where she is now without it. with her first album released the year she turned eighteen, she found almost instant success and wants to keep rising as an artist and honing her craft.
despite being happy with how things are in her music career, a part of her still wishes she had a better relationship with her mother. she's kept in contact with her on and off over the years, against her father's judgement, and their relationship is still as tumultuous as ever. but she refuses to stop trying, even when it seems like her mother wants nothing more than for sade to fail in life; just like she seemingly did.
PERSONALITY BREAKDOWN
as a kind hearted girl at her core, sade can be quite naive and impressionable. she likes to see the good in everyone and thinks that most people in the world are capable of turning over a new leaf and becoming better. she's always willing to give people second, third, sometimes even fourth chances, which has bitten her in the ass more often than not, but she refuses to think the worst of anyone until they break her trust multiple times - and even then, she can't really bring herself to hate most people.
she considers herself a social butterfly and a real girls' girl. it's not unusual to see her in the middle of a group of women, or praising and supporting women. she's become known as a friend collector in the industry, charming people and building friendships with them. it's not uncommon for her to be mentioned in passing by other celebrities as someone who joined them at a party, supported them, or was just a good friend to them. it's become an ongoing online joke that she knows everyone; which isn't too far off the mark.
as sweet as she is, sade can be absolutely stubborn, headstrong and set in her ways when it comes to something that she wants to do. when she has a goal in mind, she does anything she can to reach it, and won't allow anyone to stand in her way.
WANTED CONNECTION IDEAS
platonic soulmate - that one person that sade considers to be her platonic better half. a kindred spirit that she can rely on and really connects with on a deeper level. more than a best friend, more like a sibling.
squad (3 to 4 muses) - a tight knit circle of friends that sade leans on in her time of need, and always shows up for in their times of need. well known in the celebrity world for how close they are.
antagonist - the one person that can really get under her skin. they can make the sweet girl turn into a raging bitch and they always butt heads with one another.
music in me - a collaborator when it comes to music. someone she bounces her ideas off of, comes to for their opinions on tracks she's working on, and is the first person that she plays music for when she's finished with songs.
ex(es) - sade's a lover girl at heart, and has had flings and relationships alike. most of which ended on friendly terms, but a few had nasty fallouts.
party friends - the people that encourage sade's vices and indulges in her partying tendencies. always at the scene of the crime after a late night out drinking and dabbling in substances.
friend(s) with benefits (any gender / non gender conforming) - the few people that sade can hit up whenever she's in the mood for a little bit of fun.
childhood friend - a friend that's been there throughout her life and knows pretty much everything about what she's been through growing up. someone that's been constant and consistent for the majority of her life and will always hold a special place in her heart.
social media fueled enemy - whether it be because they're both in the music industry or whatever, their fans have somehow pitted them against each other and have formed conspiracies and theories about how much they hate each other; despite them actually being friends or not even knowing each other that well at all.

Bishop Henry Beard Delany (February 5, 1858 - April 14, 1928) is known for his contributions to architecture and for being the first African American bishop elected in North Carolina and the second in the US. He was born in Saint Mary’s, Georgia to enslaved parents, Thomas Delany, a ship and house carpenter, and Sarah, a house servant. He grew up in Fernandina, Florida where he received his earliest formal education. He and his brothers learned brick-laying and plastering trades from their father. He entered Saint Augustine’s School, where he studied theology. He joined the college faculty in 1908. He married Nannie James, another St. Augustine’s faculty member. The couple had ten children including Sarah Louise and Annie Elizabeth who became famous with their 1993 joint autobiography Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters’ First 100 Years. His son Hubert Thomas Delany became one of the first appointed African-American judges in New York City. His youngest son, Samuel, was the father of prominent science fiction author, critic, and educator Samuel R. Delany, Jr.
He joined Raleigh’s Ambrose Episcopal Church and was ordained a deacon of the church. He was ordained as a priest. He became an Archdeacon in 1908 and Bishop in 1918.
He became active in the promotion of education among North Carolina’s African American population. He visited Episcopal, Baptist, Methodist, and AME congregations throughout the state, helping them organize schools for African Americans. He was one of the few education advocates who worked to bring educational opportunities to African American prisoners. Shaw University awarded him an honorary D.Div.
Although not formally trained as an architect, he designed Saint Augustine’s Chapel in 1895. This chapel is the only surviving nineteenth-century building on the campus. He helped in the design of Saint Agnes Hospital on St. Augustine’s campus in 1909, the only African American-owned hospital in North Carolina and the only one available to African Americans in Eastern North Carolina. Although not the main designer, he was the on-site architect and construction supervisor. He was an amateur astronomer. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

In 1874 there were three breeds of spaniel; a quarter of a century later, there were ten. The overall number of terriers, in both the sporting and nonsporting divisions, rose from eleven to fifteen, including the newly accepted Airedale, Clydesdale, and Yorkshire breeds. The designation of all these terriers in one sense recognized the variations of the pre-breed era, but there was a crucial difference: then, the variants formed a continuous series; in the post-breed era, the variants were separated and segmented.
In one sense, all breeds were new, owing to the novelty of the concept and its material productions. Considerable rhetorical effort was required to create breed standards, and it took a lot of work to produce conforming, uniform, and discrete breed populations. Some breeds were regarded as genuinely new and without history; these were often called “manufactures.” Novelty was sometimes an advantage. Vero Shaw argued that many established breeds had “been the subject of acrimonious and narrow-minded disputes and petty quarrels,” whereas new breeds could be judged simply on their merits.

Marie Charlotte Carmichael Stopes  founder of first modern birth control clinic, was born in Edinburgh on October 15th 1880.
At first, Stopes was home-schooled, but from 1892 to 1894 she attended St George’s School for Girls in Edinburgh, her studies  Her studies of paleobiology took her to universities in London, England and Munich, Germany, then returning to England, she became the first female member of the science faculty at the University of Manchester.  She was a very well-educated woman; she was a woman who advocated for eugenics and the women’s rights movements.
Marie Stopes was a palaeobotanist who became the United Kingdom’s greatest advocate for birth control after the 1918 publication of her book Married Love. Trained in biology and geology, she had her doctorate by the time she was 24 years old, when she became Manchester University’s first female lecturer in science.
Marie studied and did field work in Japan and Canada, but after the annulment of her first marriage, she set out to educate women on sex in marriage. The book Married Love was a controversial bestseller (banned in the United States); she followed it with Wise Parenthood that same year.
She and her second husband opened a clinic in London in 1921 to provide birth control and health care — but not abortions — to married women. After 1935, Stopes stopped publishing scientific articles and focused on her fame as an author and advocate for birth control.
It wasn’t all good for Stopes in some ways was a flawed character, she was known to be a crazed fan of eugenics, in favor of sterilizing “inferior” members of society, a certain 20th century dictator and war mongered had the same idea in his nazi doctrination.According to one source  "Marie was an elitist, an idealist, interested in creating a society in which only the best and beautiful should survive”  Stopes's enthusiasm for eugenics and race improvement was in line with many intellectuals and public figures of the time.
Marie Stopes International was founded nearly 20 years after her death and provides contraception and abortion services around the world to this day.
Stopes was even remembered in a playground rhyme:
Jeanie, Jeanie, full of hopes, Read a book by Marie Stopes, But, to judge from her condition, She must have read the wrong edition.
Stopes was acquainted with many literary figures of the day. She had long-standing correspondences with George Bernard Shaw and Aylmer Maude, and argued with H. G. Wells. Noël Coward wrote a poem about her, and she edited Lord Alfred Douglas' letters. She unsuccessfully petitioned Neville Chamberlain to arrange for Douglas to receive a civil list pension; the petition was signed by Arthur Quiller-Couch, John Gielgud, Evelyn Waugh and Virginia Woolf, among others.[70] The general secretary of the Poetry Society, Muriel Spark, had an altercation with Stopes; according to Mark Bostridge, Spark "found herself lamenting that Stopes's mother had not been better informed on [birth control]
Stopes died on 2nd October 1958, aged 77, from breast cancer at her home in Dorking, Surrey.

Obsessed with reading
I've been reading a lot of True Crime, Extreme Horror, eBooks recently, I've already about 5 eBooks already.
I have read: No one rides for free-Judith Sonnet This book was bleak, brutal and depressing to read, but it was inspired by Wes Craven's film Last House on the left which is a "rape-revenge" film, the book was inspired by those types of films.
Channel X-Matt Shaw (Good story it was unique but I didn't like the sexual abuse of two children, the victim shaming of a woman that is a fictional domestic violence victim, her character is murdered) In my opinion it would still be a good book minus the scenes of sexual abuse of two male children and the scenes with the domestic violence victim being victim shamed, victimized and murdered. I liked how unhinged & unpredictable the characters in the book were, due to the subtle, subliminal influence of Channel X. The characters in the book, they were expressing their repressed rage/anger and enacting their darkest fantasies.
Satanic Panic-(True Crime Stories of real life stories murders and abuse) Lisa Marie Fuqua Not all the crimes/murders were SAtanic and some people mentioned in the book are a "self-proclaimed Satanist" that owned the Satanic Bible which is Atheistic Satanism! This doesn't necessarily make them a Satanist, it's just premeditated murder & Devil-Worship for kicks, attention, because they are attention-seeking, morons and edgelords.
Ritual KIllers-Jaime Malton, Aiden Galway Ritualistic crimes/murders that aren't always Satanic or evil just because it may have ritualistic/occult aspects, witchcraft isn't evil your intention and will is though.
Eaten by Evil-Ash Ericmore Did not finish due to the fictional peadophile character, it was making me feel physically sick to read it 🤢
I wrote a review for the eBooks I have read on Goodreads.
I don't understand why Peadophilia, incest, predatory, creepy, exploitative creeps that are specifically a fictional peadophile is so prevalent in Extreme Horror or Splatterpunk books.
I'm not judging authors for write about, or attacking them for what they write about/attacking their ego, or judging them as a person/as a writer for creating and writing about the worst, most despicable, disgusting characters that hurt kids or animals (but that specifically is fucking sick) 🤢
Why do people want to write about that type of fictional person & why do people want to read about that as well?

Headcanon - When you suddenly hold his hand
Original title: 当你突然握住他的手
Original author: 池离子
[ VICTOR ]
You’re sitting on the sofa while Victor’s next to you, looking through documents.
Peering at Victor, you watch as he pores over the documents very seriously - so seriously that he doesn't even notice you staring at him. Carefully admiring him from head to toe, your eyes finally land on Victor’s hand.
His hand is much larger than yours. Looking at your own small and petite hands, you find them adorable and a perfect match for Victor’s well-defined hands. Reaching out, you place your hand atop the hand that he’s using to hold the documents.
He turns to glance at you, realising that you’re staring at his hand. In response, he swaps the documents to his other hand, freeing the hand that’s held by you.
“You’ve already had one pudding tonight. There isn’t a second one."
You swat his hand angrily.
"What? In your eyes, is everything I do linked to pudding?”
He’s taken aback slightly, but eventually returns his gaze to the document.
You spread his hand flat, then put your own hand on it. One big and one small - a good fit. You can feel the warmth of his palm. This hand held yours at the dance, held your waist in the ski resort, and wiped cream from the corner of your mouth. Thinking about it, you unfurl your hand before clutching Victor’s tightly.
Victor’s eyes never leave the document, but he returns your grip with equal force.
Your hand is delicate and small. His thumb strokes the back of your hand, and the ticklish sensation makes you stifle your laughter. Despite wanting to pull your hand away, he doesn't let you go. Instead, he tightens his grip, as though fearing that you’d pull your hand away from his.
"Don’t move.”
“In this lifetime... you can’t leave.”
-
[ GAVIN ]
Gavin is watching TV with you, the both of you huddled in a corner of the sofa, squished into a small ball. Your head is resting on his shoulder, and your hands are on your kneecaps. A faint light has been purposefully left on in the room to prevent it from being in complete darkness, and also to set the ambience.
Your gaze shifts from the boring advertisement to Gavin, and see that his hand is on his leg.
You’re suddenly struck with a mischievous idea.
You place your small and delicate hand on the back of Gavin’s. Noticing your action, he lowers his head slightly and asks if something’s wrong.
Ignoring him, you continue playing with his hand, feeling the rough callouses on it from years of wielding a gun. After giving them careful touches, you burrow your own hand underneath Gavin’s. With this, your hand makes direct contact with his leg.
Gavin doesn’t say a word. You can sense that he’s gradually tightening his grip on your hand. He’s exerting pressure, but is in control to ensure that he isn’t grasping your hand too tightly. He wraps your small hand in his large palm. His heartbeat seems to be following his palm, sending you a steady stream of signals.
Lifting your head to look at him, you find that his eyes are fixed on the TV, and his ears have turned crimson.
Using your free hand, you reach out to touch his ear. It’s terribly hot.
“Gavin, your ears are so red and warm...”
Gavin turns to face you.
“Cough. That’s because... you lighted the fire...”
-
[ LUCIEN ]
You’ve come to Lucien’s laboratory to pick him up from work. By this time, Lucien should have already hung up his white coat, and should be sitting on his office chair, grinning as you rush in with snacks you bought along the way. But today, when you rush in with the egg tart you purchased, the white lab coat is still on Lucien. He sits before the laptop, holding some documents while perusing through them.
"You’re here? Sorry, there was a little issue at work today. I'm currently looking for the cause of it. You might have to wait a while. I'll be done as soon as possible.”
You nod, placing the egg tart on his table. Shifting a chair over, you sit beside him.
Lucien always smells good, you think to yourself. There’s always a cool and fragrant scent on him, but you’ve never seen him spraying cologne. The flowers at home don’t have this scent either. Giving him a careful whiff, you can’t guess what it is.
You haven’t seen Lucien in an entire day! Right now, you really need a Lucien-recharge, so you stand up to move behind him. Wrapping your arms around his neck, you bury your face in his white coat, one hand hanging loosely in front of his chest. He isn’t too surprised, nor is he caught off guard. After all, you’ve used this trick many times, and he’s grown used to it.
Inhaling Lucien’s scent deeply, you find that he’s really nice to smell. Lucien seems to be tickled by your breath. He chuckles lightly while giving the arm in front of him a gentle pet. You grab his hand.
"Lulu... how much longer will you take?”
He grips your hand tightly, as though he’s giving you a response.
“Ten minutes. Just wait for a little longer. I’ll be done soon, okay?”
With this, he brings your hand to his lips, giving the back of your hand a gentle kiss.
This action flusters you so much that you want to find a hole to burrow into. Although you hurriedly attempt to withdraw your hand, Lucien’s stronger than you, and he clasps your hand tightly, giving it another firm kiss.
As though succumbing to fate, you slump against his neck, putting your arms around his neck.
Even though you can’t see your own expression, your face has already started to feel warm, and your ears are probably red to their tips as well.
"You must be feeling shy. Let me see...” After saying this, he turns his head.
“Don’t look!" You mumble, burying your face in the shoulder of his white coat.
-
[ KIRO ]
The two of you have just finished a game, and are slumped on two beanbags next to each other, surrounded by potato chips and soda. Kiro tosses the controller to the side, then leans against you coquettishly.
"Miss Chips is too good at playing! I can't beat her at all! I’m not playing anymore! It’s so embarrassing!”
You rub the golden head that has leaned over. His hair is so soft. For a moment, you even feel like you’re petting a large golden retriever.
You glance at the controller which has been thrown onto the carpet. Eyes shifting upwards, you see a pair of hands that you’re highly envious of.
He’s a celebrity, so of course it’s very important to have a pair of nice-looking hands. Kiro has taken off his ring. Originally, his hands are thin, long and pale, and the part where he often wears the ring is even more tender. You look at your own hands. As compared to Kiro’s, you probably aren’t even considered a female.
Brimming with jealousy, you slowly stroke the back of his hand. The delicateness of Kiro’s hand is just like yours.
"Miss Chips..."
You hear him calling you like this, but you have no intention of responding. You simply rely on your courage to continue. You put your hand in his palm and look at him, anticipating his next move.
Kiro is fascinated by the huge watery eyes you’re giving him, and immediately grabs your hand.
"I knew it... You’re just as hungry as I am, aren’t you? Let's find something to eat! There’s never enough snacks!”
"?"
He gets up quickly and grips your hand tightly, trying to pull you up too.
"What do you want to eat? I'll make it for you!"
You look up at him as he radiates with light, and release a chuckle.
"Okay, okay!”
Borrowing his strength, you stand up as well. The two of you walk to the kitchen while grinning and swinging each others’ hands like little children.
-
[ SHAW ]
It's too hot. Surviving the summer is going to be difficult.
The air conditioner at home is broken, and you’re still sweating despite wearing a blouse. Shaw steps out of the kitchen with a large glass of iced cola in his hand. Judging by the volume, it’s clear that he mixed Cola and Sprite again.
He sits next to you, gulping it down, and you watch as water vapour surrounds and the glass. it must have been chilled. You’re going crazy from the heat, so you unfurl your hand in front of him, indicating that he had better give you a sip of the iced cola.
Instead, this ignorant man put his hand on yours. Not only is there no cola to drink, but it’s also warm.
"Stinky Brother, I asked you to give me a sip, not your hand." You swat his hand away, moving forward to snatch the cola in his other hand.
"Hey hey hey Mary Sue, be careful. I mixed two soft drinks in this. Don't spill it on me..."
Shaw knows that you genuinely can’t stand the heat, so he doesn’t tease you this time. Instead, he obediently places the cup in the palm of your hand. The wall of the cup is icy cold, and it’s so comfortable that you want to stick your face against it.
You take a small sip, and the cooling sensation fills your mouth, and your mood becomes exponentially better. Filled with a sudden impulse, you reach out, grabbing Shaw’s hand tightly.
You expected Shaw to respond by returning your grip.
But Shaw is Shaw, and he’s always testing your patience.
"Oh? Auntie, you maintain your skin pretty well for someone who has reached middle-age... tsk tsk tsk.” He speaks, lifting your hand up and scrutinising it.
"You brat. I’m right here, so you better cleanse your mouth...”
With the cola in one hand, you try to retract the other.
Not caring that it’s warm, Shaw grasps your hand tightly, uttering a casual apology. On account of the cola, you decide not to hold a grudge against him.
"Mary Sue, save me some. Don't drink it all." Shaw leans over, and the only thing separating your faces is the glass.
“Also, let’s head out later. Your hand’s really empty... I need to get you some jewellery... Do you like rings?”

scandalous star: gary cooper -an analysis
“I don’t like to see exaggerated airs and exploding egos in people who are already established. No player ever rises to prominence solely on talent. They’re molded by forces other than themselves. They should remember this – and at least twice a week drop to their knees and thank Providence for elevating them from cow ranches, dime store ribbon counters and bookkeeping desks. ” - Gary Cooper
He didn’t say much, but when he did, it carried a lot of weight. He was the archetypal hero of the Old West; the quintessential masculine ideal of the stoic and “strong silent type” that most Taurus men are. But for famously laconic Gary Cooper, his good looks and earnest, haunted eyes for decades made him the quintessential lonely American of motion pictures. He was a more equanimous, human protagonist versus boisterous, bigger-than-life Hollywood supermen. He was renowned for his quiet, understated acting style and his individualistic, emotionally restrained, but at times intense screen persona, which was particularly well suited to the many Westerns he made. He was a man’s man...as well as a ladies’ man. Cooper became a hero to many, even as he developed a reputation as one of the most notorious philanderers in Hollywood. Privately a debonair ladykiller with a taste for high society, he crafted an image as just the opposite from his prototype cowboy image he materfully portrayed on the silver screen. He was insatiable, before and during his marriage. How did he reconcile his moral righteousness onscreen (Taurus sun) with his philandering offscreen (Sagittarius moon)? That was the work of the fixers, gossip magazines, and the studio system at large, which ensured that Cooper was never caught, never denounced, and held up as a paragon of American values.
Tumblr media
Gary Cooper, according to astrotheme, was a Taurus sun and Sagittarius moon. He was born Frank James Cooper in Helena, Montana, the second son of an English farmer from Bedfordshire, who later became an American lawyer and judge, Charles Henry Cooper (1865-1946), and Kent-born Alice (née Brazier) Cooper (1873-1967). As a child, he met a freed slave woman named Mary Fields, otherwise known as Stagecoach Mary, and so awed by her was she that he later wrote an account of his memories of her in Ebony magazine. His mother hoped for their two sons to receive a better education than that available in Montana and arranged for the boys to attend Dunstable Grammar School in Bedfordshire, England between 1910 and 1913. Upon the outbreak of World War I, Cooper’s mother brought her sons home and enrolled them in a Bozeman, Montana, high school. Upon graduation, he eventually matriculated at Grinnell College in Grinnell, IA, where he attempted to nurture a passion for drawing - until a serious car accident ended his college days in the summer of 1920. He would recover from his severely injured hip through an odd but painful therapy, horseback riding.
When his father retired from the bench and moved his mother to Los Angeles, Cooper gave up agriculture classes to try his hand as a Hollywood extra. Cooper played an extra in a handful of silent films before arriving on the set of The Winning of Barbara Worth in 1926. The actor cast as the second male lead didn’t show, and someone shoved Cooper into the part. He appeared with Clara Bow (who soon became one of his conquests) in her star-making film It, but it was his appearance in another Bow vehicle Wings, released later that same year, truly launched his career. He plays a World War I flying cadet, and although his screentime was still relatively short, there was one scene — an extended close-up shot, the light streaming in from outside — in which he looked gorgeous. In 1929, he filmed The Wolf Song with Lupe Vélez. He soon had an affair with Velez, who purportedly claimed that Cooper “has the biggest organ in Hollywood but not the ass to push it in well.” For more on their relationship, read my star analysis on Lupe.
Cooper filmed The Virginian — his first real “talkie,” and the film was a major hit and cemented the foundation of Cooper’s image. His ability to project elements of his own personality onto the characters he portrayed, to appear natural and authentic in his roles, and to underplay and deliver restrained performances calibrated for the camera and the screen helped make him a cinematic success, often lauded by those he worked with. However, his good looks and charisma made him a success with women, whether he worked with them or not. Over the next few years, Cooper was paired with the most gorgeous and promising female stars in Hollywood —with Carole Lombard in I Take This Woman (whom he slept with), Claudette Colbert in His Woman (whom he allegedly slept with), Marlene Dietrich in Morocco and Desire (who he famously slept with more than once), and Joan Blondell in Make Me a Star (who he allegedly slept with). In 1932, Cooper and his Paramount “rival,” Cary Grant, were cast against Tallulah Bankhead in Devil and the Deep (1932). Like Lupe Velez, Bankhead was a loose cannon, with most famous quote being:
“The only reason I went to Hollywood was to fuck that divine Gary Cooper.”
Amidst all his public and private action, Cooper began courting Veronica “Rocky” Balfe, a starlet who went by the stage name of Sandra Shaw. She was also best known as the blonde dropped by King Kong. The two were wed in late 1933. Balfe retired from the screen to become a wife and mother, with her giving birth to their only child, Maria, in 1937. Cooper portrayed a new type of hero—a champion of the common man—in films like Mr. Deeds Goes To Washington and 1941′s Sergeant York (which won him his first of two Best Actor Oscars). Cooper met Ernest Hemingway at Sun Valley in October 1940 and they were friends for the rest of his life. He co-starred with Ingrid Bergman (with whom he had a year-long affair with) in a the film adaptation of Hemingway’s For Whom the Bell Tolls. He kept starring in more films and bedding his female co-stars until he got more than he bargained for when he made The Fountainhead. Naturally, the 47-year-old Cooper had an affair with his co-star, the 21-year-old Patricia Neal. However, this time things got crazy: Neal wound up pregnant with Cooper’s child. He insisted she have an abortion. When Cooper’s long-suffering wife found out about the relationship, she sent a telegram demanding he end it. This didn’t work; he also confessed that he was in love with Neal, and continued to see her. Cooper and his wife legally separated in May of 1951. Cooper’s daughter Maria, by then in her early teens, famously spat on Neal in public. Neal later claimed that Cooper hit her after she went on a date with Kirk Douglas. Neal ended their relationship in late December 1951. Amid all this drama, Cooper starred in what is now regarded as his defining role: the beleaguered sheriff in High Noon, which won him his second Best Actor Oscar. In later life, he became involved in a relationship with the costume designer Irene, and was, according to Irene, "the only man she ever loved".
Maybe all his previous actions had an affect on him because Cooper converted to Catholicism in 1958, and reconciled with his wife and daughter. Also, he began starring in films that centered around searching for redemption, such as Friendly Persuasion (1956) and Man of the West (1958). In 1960, Cooper fell ill with prostate cancer, which quickly spread to his colon, lungs, and bones; he died of it shortly after his 60th birthday in 1961. A year after his death, Irene committed suicide by jumping from the 11th floor of the Knickerbocker Hotel, after telling Doris Day of her grief over Cooper's death. Regardless of his philandering, regardless of the arduous work of his studio’s publicity departments, there was something plaintive, almost childlike, maybe even innocent about Cooper, so he can easily be forgiven his sins. He acted out what mattered to millions of people, and that act made him a star beyond measure.
Next, I’ll focus on his former paramour Lupe Velez’s arch nemesis. A woman who happened to be wife of MGM art director Cedric Gibbons (Gary Cooper’s wife Rocky’s uncle). She was another pioneer of Mexican cinema who was arguably the first Latina to successfully crossover to Anglo audiences: Leo Dolores del Río.

Overall personality snapshot: He was torn between an instinct to roam free and a determination to find security and make a solid, lasting contribution to the world. As he repeatedly changed horses in search of both ultimate certainties and high-spirited adventure at the same time, he could find himself deeply divided and uncertain. He sought to earth the fire from heaven and put it to work, but he found all too often that it would not let him rest. In his search for stability and security, he became a farmer and was immediately confronted with the changing seasons. He embraced the solid certainties of geology and are hit by an earthquake. He liked to feel the solid earth move. He sought certitude and permanence, yet his endless inquiries constantly confounded yesterday’s certainties. When he got his own uncertainties together (by accepting he wanted the best of both the changing and the unchanging worlds), he could have been a brilliant teacher, conversationalist, counselor, entertainer, wit, creative artist or entrepreneur – in fact he could have been anything he wanted. Once focused, he could be a human dynamo, and wonderfully humorous, witty and entertaining with it. As he discovered, his quest for solid material certainties did not make a happy bedfellow for his yearning for excitement and larger religious and spiritual understanding. In one way or another, be it through philosophy and the spiritual quest or through writing, music or art, he needed to put together and formulate a total vision of the universe which is based on unassailable facts yet satisfying to his idealism.
Constantly seeking, he was a natural agnostic, applying the criteria of science to counter woolly speculations, yet at the same time highly skeptical of the limited and statistical pronouncements of unthinking science. The danger, if he did not marry these elements within him, is that he would swing from one to the other and undermine the virtues of both. A restless changing of jobs, careers, partners, visions or aspirations left him drunk with his own spinning. When he deliberately tried to remain sober and commonsensical, it seemed to make matters worse for there was something of the gambler in him. This all-or-nothing streak can temporarily overcome your natural caution and enable you to burn your bridges (though you will usually ensure there is something tucked away for a rainy day). He felt an impulsive need to do things on a grand scale, to live with commitment, to feast on the world, and to understand what it was to be alive in all possible ways. He seemed to be called both to explore the reaches of the imagination and to build secure foundations. He brought far-reaching visions into manifestation, and these visions injected his conservative desire for stability and security with flair and colour. His vision of tomorrow and the larger world gave spice to any project he undertook. He saw endless possibilities and wanted to make them real. In this he could be the natural entrepreneur who saw economic opportunities at every turn, an inspiring counselor and teacher, and a stimulating companion whatever he did.
His well-shaped body displayed a warm attractiveness and ripeness. In his later years, he may have needed to watch the tendency to gain weight too easily. His strong broad shoulders supported a very large neck size. His most outstanding feature was his eyes and his gentle smile and voice. He was big-boned. He enjoyed dressing well, preferring soft colours. He was practical, steady and patient, but he could  be inflexible in his views. One thing he did have was plenty of common sense and good powers of concentration, although he tended to think that purely abstract thought was a waste of time. His thought processes weren’t as quick as others, but his decisions were made with a lot of thought behind them. He also had the welcome ability to bring people together. He needed to be able to show his originality and independence in any job for complete satisfaction. His work should also satisfy his scientific bent and humanitarian leanings. He needed scope for his inventiveness, because he was able to bring a fresh view to any job. Ideally, his work should permit him to express the idealistic side to him character and allow him to help as many people as possible. He could be extremely efficient in the way that he tried to get maximum result out of minimum effort. He didn’t like extravagance and waste. He was a thoughtful and resourceful person, who was well-informed on many subjects. Success came gradually and as a result of hard work. Success and growth, for him, were expressed by material and financial achievements, bringing status and prestige.Worldly success was well within his reach, because he possessed all the necessary talents to gain power, influence and status. He was practical, determined and patient. When there were hitches in his plans, he simply worked around them. He knew where he was heading to, and had already figured out the best way to use his talents to reach his goals.
Although he could be fairly pessimistic about life in general, it didn’t put him off aiming for the top. He could be very single-minded about reaching his goals, and was prepared to put his career interests above his personal happiness. He was extremely aware of his own worth. He was prepared to work beyond the call of duty. His strong sense of ambition gave him a certain rigidity, arrogance and selfishness in the eyes of others. He belonged to a generation with fiery enthusiasm for new and innovative ideas and concepts. Rejecting the past and its mistakes, he sought new ideals and people to believe in. As a member of this generation, he felt restless and adventurous, and was attracted towards foreign people, places and cultures. As a member of the Gemini Neptune generation, his restless mind pushed him to explore new intellectual fields. He loved communication and the occult and was likely also fascinated by metaphysical phenomena and astrology. As a Gemini Plutonian, he was mentally restless and willing to examine and change old doctrines, ideas and ways of thinking. As a member of this generation, he showed an enormous amount of mental vitality, originality and perception. Traditional customs and taboos were examined and rejected for newer and more original ways of doing things. As opportunities with education expanded, he questioned more and learned more. As a member of this generation, having more than one occupation at a time would not have been unusual to him.
Love/sex life: His sexuality was a wonderful combination of sensuality and basic laziness. He let himself be carried along by his pleasure-seeking instincts, greeting every new experience with fresh eagerness and then slowly draining from that encounter all the joy it has to offer. This passive, easy-going approach to sex not only made for good technique, it also conceals the egocentric strength and stubbornness that was at the core of his erotic nature. People don’t realize that beneath all that luxurious hedonism he was always the person in control. He was a conservative lover for whom appearances were always important. There may have been occasions when his sensuality lured him into indiscretions but he was quick to cover his tracks and hide the evidence. The quiet practicality of his sexual nature served as a handy antidote for his Martian braggadocio. He knew that he was the best there is but he was willing to sit back and let the world find out the good news on its own. In his youth Cooper was endorsed by several female “experts” of the time (such as Clara Bow, Marlene Dietrich and Tallulah Bankhead) as Hollywood’s sexiest man. His soft spoken and manly sex appeal projected just as well on the screen. After marrying at age 32, Cooper’s sex life became somewhat more sedate though he never lost his ability to attract women.
minor asteroids and points:
North Node: Scorpio
Lilith: Scorpio
Vertex: Libra
Fortune: Capricorn
East Point: Taurus
His North Node in Scorpio dictated that he needed to be careful not to let the more emotional side of his personality overwhelm him. Instead, he should have set out to consciously develop his more practical abilities. His Lilith in Scorpio ensured that he was dangerously attracted to those women who seduced and conquered on a daily basis; who liked life intense and was judged for her sexuality and general vibe and learned early on how to deflect moral judgments. His type of women may have been tried in the court of public opinion but no way were they going to show up for the sentencing. His Vertex in Libra, 6th house dictated that he llonged for a union of souls that was based on a model of pure peace and justice. Images come to mind of a mythical life on Venus, the planet of love, where there is never a discordant beat between lovers, but rather, continual harmony even if played in the minor chords. Physical lust was certainly a necessary aspect of two beings eternally intertwined, but the platonic component far outweighed it in importance for him. He had an attitude of duty, obligation and sacrifice when it came to heartfelt interactions. The negative side was the tendency to become hypochondriacal or martyristic to get the love he so desperately wanted. There was a need for others to appreciate the sincerity of his intentions, to the daily tasks he executed in a conscientious and caring way and for others to know that his actions, no matter how routine they may seem, were based on devoted love. His Part of Fortune in Capricorn and Part of Spirit in Cancer dictated that his destiny lay in creating practical and long-lasting achievements. Success came through hard work, determination, responsibility and perseverance. Fulfillment came from observing his progress through life and seeing it take a form and structure that will outlive him. His soul’s purpose guided him towards building security in his life, both emotional and material. He felt spiritual connections and the spark of the divine within his home and family. East Point in Taurus dictated that he was more likely to identify with the need for pleasure (including the potential of liking himself) and comfort.
elemental dominance:
earth
fire
He was a practical, reliable man and could provide structure and protection. He was oriented toward practical experience and thought in terms of doing rather than thinking, feeling, or imagining. Could be materialistic, unimaginative, and resistant to change. But at his best, he provided the practical resources, analysis, and leadership to make dreams come true. He was dynamic and passionate, with strong leadership ability. He generated enormous warmth and vibrancy. He was exciting to be around, because he was genuinely enthusiastic and usually friendly. However, he could either be harnessed into helpful energy or flame up and cause destruction. Ultimately, he chose the latter. Confident and opinionated, he was fond of declarative statements such as “I will do this” or “It’s this way.” When out of control—usually because he was bored, or hadn’t been acknowledged—he was bossy, demanding, and even tyrannical. But at his best, his confidence and vision inspired others to conquer new territory in the world, in society, and in themselves.
modality dominance:
fixed
He liked the challenge of managing existing routines with ever more efficiency, rather than starting new enterprises or finding new ways of doing things. He likely had trouble delegating duties and had a very hard time seeing other points of view; he tried to implement the human need to create stability and order in the wake of change.
house dominants:
12th
9th
8th
He had great interest in the unconscious, and indulged in a lot of hidden and secret affairs. His life was defined by seclusion and escapism. He had a certain mysticism and hidden sensitivity, as well as an intense need for privacy. Traveling, whether physically across the globe, on a mental plane or expanding through study was a major theme in his life. He was not only concerned with learning facts, but also wanted to understand the connections formed between them and the philosophies and concepts they stood for. His conscience, as well as foreign travel, people and places was also of paramount importance in his life. He loved the totality of the human experience and embraced the whole cycle of human life, including birth, sex and death. His darker side, and the complexes and emotions that he preferred to keep hidden, even from himself was a theme throughout his life. His ability to undergo deep personal transformations and spiritual regeneration was also highlighted.
planet dominants:
Venus
Saturn
Sun
He was romantic, attractive and valued beauty, had an artistic instinct, and was sociable. He had an easy ability to create close personal relationships, for better or worse, and to form business partnerships. He believed in the fact that lessons in life were sometimes harsh, that structure and foundation was a great issue in his life, and he had to be taught through through experience what he needed in order to grow. He paid attention to limitations he had and had to learn the rules of the game in this physical reality. He tended to have a practical, prudent outlook. He also likely held rigid beliefs. He had vitality and creativity, as well as a strong ego and was authoritarian and powerful. He likely had strong leadership qualities, he definitely knew who he was, and he had tremendous will. He met challenges and believed in expanding his life.
sign dominants:
Taurus
Sagittarius
Capricorn
His stubbornness and determination kept his around for the long haul on any project or endeavour. He was incredibly patient, singular in his pursuit of goals, and determined to attain what he wanted. Although he lacked versatility, he compensated for it by enduring whatever he had to in order to get what he wanted. He enjoyed being surrounded by nice things. He liked fine art and music, and may have had considerable musical ability. He also had a talent for working with his hands—gardening, woodworking, and sculpting. He sought the truth, expressed it as he saw it—and didn’t care if anyone else agreed with him. He saw the large picture of any issue and couldn’t be bothered with the mundane details. He was always outspoken and likely couldn’t understand why other people weren’t as candid. After all, what was there to hide? He loved his freedom and chafed at any restrictions. He was a serious-minded person who often seemed aloof and tightly in control of his emotions and her personal domain. Even as a youngster, there was a mature air about him, as if he was born with a profound core that few outsiders ever see. He was easily impressed by outward signs of success, but was interested less in money than in the power that money represents. He was a true worker—industrious, efficient, and disciplined. His innate common sense gave her the ability to plan ahead and to work out practical ways of approaching goals. More often than not, he succeeded at whatever he set out to do. He possessed a quiet dignity that was unmistakable.
Read more about him under the cut.
Actor Gary Cooper was born on May 7, 1901, in Helena, Montana. Spanning from the silent film era to the early 1960s, Academy Award-winning actor Gary Cooper built much of his career by playing strong, manly, distinctly American roles. The son of English parents who had settled in Montana, he was educated in England for a time. He also studied at Grinnell College in Iowa before heading to Los Angeles to work as an illustrator. When he had a hard time finding a job, Cooper worked as a film extra and landed some small parts. After his appearance in
The Winning of Barbara Worth
(1926), a western, Cooper's career began to take off. He starred opposite silent movie star Clara Bow in Children of Divorce (1927). Cooper also earned praise as the ranch foreman in
The Virginian
(1929), one of his early films with sound. Throughout the 1930s, he turned in a number of strong performances in such films as A Farewell to Arms (1934) with Helen Hayes and Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936) directed by Frank Capra. Cooper received an Academy Award nomination for his work on the film. Cooper continued to excel on the big screen, tackling several real-life dramas. In Sergeant York (1941), the played a World War I hero and sharpshooter, which was based on the life story of Alvin York. Cooper earned a Best Actor Academy Award for his portrayal of York.
The next year, Cooper played one of baseball's greats, Lou Gehrig, in The Pride of the Yankees (1942). Again, he scored another Best Actor Academy Award nomination. Appearing in a film adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's For Whom the Bell Tolls,  Cooper starred opposite Ingrid Bergman in a drama set during the Spanish Civil War. This role garnered him a third Academy Award nomination. In 1952, Cooper took on what is known considered his signature role as Will Kane in High Noon. He appeared as a lawman who must face a deadly foe without any help from his own townspeople. The film won four Academy Awards, including a Best Actor win for Cooper. In addition to his excellent on-screen performances, Cooper became  known for his alleged romances with several of his leading ladies, including Clara Bow and Patricia Neal. The affair with Neal, his co-star in 1949's The Fountainhead, reportedly occurred during his  marriage to socialite Veronica Balfe with whom he had a daughter. Their marriage seemed to survive the scandal. By the late 1950s, Cooper's health was in decline. He made a few more films, such as Man of the West (1958), before dying of cancer on May 13, 1961. (x)

It really feels like if Bob hadn't asked for time off Bellamy would still be alive not that I'm blaming Bob at all but because I get the sense that whenever mains say they want time off Jason gets really bitter and thinks if they don't make the 100 their number 1 priority they have to suffer for it, Shaw and Kane are probably good examples of that which in turn caused Abby's bad ending and Raven's messy story. Marie has insinuated Jason is a dictator, his way or the highway and we are seeing the result of that.
hmm. i don’t like to judge people until i have enough evidence to do so, but it seems to me his comments after the fact about bellamy’s death and his disrespect to the character and lack of respect for bob do seem to be confirming the theories.
I do not regret watching 6 seasons. I do not regret saying bellarke was canon. I still think Bellarke was canon for 6 seasons. That was a love story. The very CHANGE in the story in season 7 and how both Bellamy and Clarke were erased and minimized and turned into villains, and were no longer the driving force or heroes and the forced “best friend” title, again and again to “remind us” that it wasn’t romantic, after being shown in s6 that it was, and how Clarke’s part in the show was made nonsensical by the absence of Bellamy, and how we lost all the hooks that the story hung on, like “together,” and “the head and the heart” and “be the good guys” and “love is not a weakness,” means that SEASON 7 IS A DIFFERENT STORY. Same show, different story. Different protagonists. Different themes. Different mood.
In all the shifts of story for 6 years, those things all stayed the same, but in the end, he gave us a different story with OOC characters who forgot their entire journey.
The only thing I regret is trusting JR and defending him. Y’all were right. I was hoping his ego would serve the story, but it did not.
And I want to say that I was never delusional. YOU were never delusional. We did NOT misinterpret. When you paid attention to canon, the story was Bellarke.
And we know that’s true because in season 7 IT WAS NOT BELLARKE. And you can see the difference. I thought at first they were just finishing up the other storylines, which was acceptable. I thought they were giving the last season an ensemble instead of heroes, which is acceptable though not ideal. But as soon as Bellamy came back on the stage, you could tell that the story had changed. Love was no longer the center of the story. The head and the heart was gone.
OH. MY GOD. THERE WAS NO LEVER.
Was there a lever? Where was Clarke’s lever?
WTF?
What story was this?

MY THREE SONS at 60!
September 29, 1960
Tumblr media
“My Three Sons” was a situation comedy produced at Desilu Studios. It premiered on ABC TV on September 29, 1960 and finished its first run on April 13, 1972, with 380 episodes making it the second-longest running live-action sitcom in TV history after “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriett” (1952-66).
Tumblr media
Seasons 1 through 5 were aired in black and white on CBS.  In 1965 it moved to CBS when ABC declined to underwrite the costs of airing in color.  The series was initially filmed at Desilu Studios in Hollywood, but at the start of the 1967–68 season, the cast and crew began filming the series at the CBS Studio Center in Studio City, California due to Lucille Ball’s sale of Desilu to Gulf + Western, which owned Paramount Pictures. The sale also affected the filming location of another family sitcom, “Family Affair.”
Incredibly, “My Three Sons” ran concurrently through both “The Lucy Show” and “Here’s Lucy.” Both Steve Douglas and Lucy Carmichael (and later Carter), where single parents raising children.
Tumblr media
September 16, 1965 was a big night for CBS airing the very first episode of “My Three Sons” after moving from ABC titled “The First Marriage”. It was also the first episode of the series broadcast in color, something “The Lucy Show” did three days earlier with “Lucy at Marineland” (TLS S4;E1). The premise of the series is a widowed father (Steven Douglas) raising his three boys with help of his extended family.  Initially, the three sons were Chip, Robbie, and Mike, but in 1967 Mike was written out and replaced by Ernie, whom Steve adopted.  The extended family at first consisted of Bub, Steve’s father-in-law and the boys’ maternal grandfather, but in 1964, that character was replaced by Uncle Charley, Steve’s uncle and Bub’s brother.
Tumblr media
The leading role was played by film star Fred MacMurray, who the series was built around - including his hectic schedule. To suit MacMurray, scenes would be shot out of sequence and even alone on a soundstage and later edited to create a complete episode.  This was not MacMurray’s first time at Desilu. In 1958 he played himself on the “Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour” in “Lucy Hunts Uranium” set in the Nevada desert outside Las Vegas. He was joined by his second wife, actress June Haver. MacMurray (1908-91) appeared in over 100 films in his career but is perhaps best remembered for the film Double Indemnity (1944), which Lucy references in this episode. MacMurray’s name was first mentioned by Ethel in 1953 in “The Black Eye” (ILL S2;E20) when flowers arrive for Lucy mistakenly signed “Eternally yours, Fred.”
Although Lucille Ball was their landlord (and ultimate boss) she never acted on the show, but many of the actors who appeared on Lucille Ball’s sitcoms did appear on “My Three Sons”.
Tumblr media
From 1960 to 1965, MacMurray was joined by William Frawley as Bub O’Casey, the family’s live-in maternal grandfather. Of course, Frawley came to fame on “I Love Lucy” as the crusty landlord Fred Mertz. Frawley had worked with MacMurray in the 1935 film, Car 99. When Frawley had to leave  the show due to ill-health (and it was too costly to insure him) he was replaced by another Desilu alumni, William Demarest, as Uncle Charley. Like his previous co-star, Vivian Vance, Frawley was not especially fond of Demarest personally or as an actor. Demarest had, however, done three films with Lucille Ball. Frawley kept watching “My Three Sons” on his TV set bitterly. He never really got over being replaced by Demarest. On March 3, 1966, Frawley died of a heart attack.
Tumblr media
For Christmas 1959, Frawley and Demarest both appeared with Lucy and Desi in “The Desilu Revue” (above with “December Bride’s” Spring Byington). At the time, Demarest was working on the Desilu lot appearing in NBC’s “Love and Marriage.”
Tumblr media
On “My Three Sons” two of  Steve Douglas’ boys had been seen on “The Lucy Show”: Don Grady (Robbie Douglas) had played Chris Carmichael’s friend Bill and Barry Livingston (Ernie Douglas) had played Mr. Mooney’s son Arnold. Ted Eccles, who assumed the role of Arnold Mooney when Barry Livingston was busy on “My Three Sons,” also did an episode.
Tumblr media
The children of “The Lucy Show,” Ralph Hart (who played Viv Bagley’s son Sherman), Jimmy Garrett (Jerry Carmichael), and Candy Moore (Lucy Carmichael’s daughter Chris) were also on episodes of "My Three Sons.”

On November 22, 1977, ABC TV (and Dick Clark Productions) brought together a reunion of two of television's favorite sitcoms "The Partridge Family" and "My Three Sons." Hosted by Shirley Jones and Fred MacMurray this would be the only time that the surviving cast members would get together to celebrate the series which included clips, a song from David Cassidy, and an update of what each cast member was doing in 1977.
