I will, nor should any Jewish person live in fear, will not be intimidated. As American Neo Nazis are planning a “day of hate” this weekend on shabbat. As Neo Nazis protested the opening of Parade, a Broadway musical about Leo Frank, a Southern Jewish man who was innocently convicted of murdering a young girl. He then was lynched by a mob of angry antisemitic men. Nazis who shout and taunt words of racism, antisemtism at people that seem Jewish. Some of those Nazis carry DeSantis Country Flags. It is clear antisemitism and hate is not on the rise. It’s here. It’s here in America. Our history has antisemitism in its past, and in our present but more blatant, and dangerous than before. Any discrimination, acts of terror, and acts of antisemitism should never be accepted. The Jewish community have been targets of discrimination throughout centuries, this is nothing new sadly. My parents fled the former Soviet Union, where they were discriminated against because of their Jewish identities. They came to the U.S. in search for a society in which they could live freely from antisemitism. A generation later, the same hate has reared its head. Today marks the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Cable Street. On Sunday October 4th 1936, the British Union of Facists, a virulently antisemitic political group led by Oswald Mosley were due to march through the East End of London, which at the time had a large Jewish population. The marchers were to be 'protected' by the Metropolitan Police. As word of the march got out, around 20,000 protestors (including many Jews) turned out and blocked the route with virtually anything they could lay their hands on. A running battle ensued between those wishing to stop the march and the 7,000 police sent to escort and protect the marchers. 150 counter-demonstrators were arrested and another 175 injured (including women and children). Mosley and his blackshirts were forced to retreat. Today, a rally will be held in the East End to mark the day when Britain's Jews (and many others) stood up to Mosley's antisemitic thugs. Now for the bit that beggars belief - two of those speaking at today's rally will be none other than Jeremy Corbyn and Apsana Begum - and no, we are not making this up. It's simply vile.

Though I see both sides, this is the tribal part of religion, and it was very important to my husband. The comments are upsetting. I struggled with it myself and we struck a compromise - unfortunately criminalizing this makes Jews and Muslims into "criminals". Criminals that "torture babies" - That is a huge problem. This law needs modification. It is a dramatic over simplification to equate religious male circumcision to female circumcision. Not the same. Not at all. This argument could easily be applied to people that make the choice to vaccinate a child, or any and every surgery and risk taken. "Wait to they are old enough for consent." I support jews and Muslims that choose to not circumcise. And I support those that do. I respect religious freedom, and I firmly deny the claim that circumcision is torture.
