"When It's ALL About The 💵Benjamins💵...Black People Are Expendable!"
#FBI: When we arbitrarily choose to remain silent about ANY matter involving serious offenses that are committed against another human being-- especially the systemic, racist crimes committed against marginalized people of color--which is the case in this matter, such as; Attempted Murder, Depraved Indifference To Human Life, Stalking, Medical Malpractice, Legal Malpractice, Theft, Various Forms Of Harassment, Hate Crime, Acts Of Terrorism, Fraud, Death Threats, And Other Unspecified Crimes...we are intentionally allowing ourselves to become complicit in our thought process, in our abject failure to take action, and in the intentional silence of our words that hold great power to affect change.
#FBI: First, I'm giving thanks to God for His mercy, love, strength, and grace. And, for divinely ordering the steps of a magnificent, compassionate, and supportive group of people to arrive with some incredible intel and other invaluable resources to provide assistance during this volatile time. Thank you all for using the power of your words--the strength of your voice--to impact a positive change in this serious matter that has a significant impact on the lives of others.
#FBI: But sadly, there're entirely too many people who are gleefully participating in this demoralizing, odious, repugnant, and hateful type of behavior for a few ill-gained dollars. I think I get it...your silence and/or complicity is for sale--and you're willing to do ANYTHING for a dollar, even if your job entails killing, destroying, or sabotaging the lives of other people--which means YOU have chosen to become criminals for hire. And, some people have decided to chase the 💵benjamins💵 by participating in the senseless murders and/or attempted murders of Black people and/or against their own race and family for hire. "Folks, if your family members or friends are involved in THIS saga: Do a Forrest Gump on them, and RUN very fast in the opposite direction...NEVER to look back!"
#FBI: Figuratively speaking, every person that's complict in these horrific crimes--regardless of your national orgin--you're guilty of pulling a Derek Chauvin on another Black man, by intentionally pressing your knee on his neck with brute force, and blocking the blood flow to his carotid artery with the malicious intent to kill him as dead as a doorknob. And, this is a stern message to everyone involved--and there are so many of you--take your knee off this Black man's neck, because he can't breathe, and you're intentionally trying to kill him with ALLEGED immunity!
#FBI: Folks, this is a factual, horrifying tale regarding Bruce W. Conner [Email: [email protected]], a former 9-year North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] governmental employee. He was an exemplary employee who was the reining employee of the year, prior to his abrupt termination in October 2021 that resulted from the insidious, deceitful, and heinous actions of his treating doctors, the cruelty he endured following his job-related accidents, and his subsequent life-altering, bodily injuries.
#FBI: Bruce was involved in TWO job-related, traffic accidents, approximately a week apart [he was NOT at fault]. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, ONE ACCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE HE WAS UTILIZING THE COMPANY'S VEHICLE TO PROVIDE POSITIVE PROTECTION TO TWO CARROLLTON POLICE OFFICERS WHO WERE STANDING, EXPOSED IN HARM'S WAY, ON THE NTTA'S DANGEROUS TOLLWAY. However, Dallas Fire & Rescue responded to the accidents, but they patently failed to transport him to a hospital to ascertain if he had incurred any internal injuries.
#FBI: As a direct result of those accidents, he sustained the following injuries; blunt chest trauma, serious head trauma, serious neck trauma, partial collapse of both lungs, (3) stomach herniations, lesions on the liver, (8) severely herniated discs in the back, and a displaced/fractured rib. However, despite Medical City Dallas Hospital's personnel having physical possession of his CT lab report, which revealed the serious medical implications of the above listed injuries, the only injury that was documented by hospital's treating doctor was...a fractured rib. UNBELIEVABLE!😡
#FBI: To cut to the chase, many horrific crimes have been committed--including the attempted murder of Bruce--in an unrelenting, highly organized, criminal conspiracy to mitigate their gross negligence and to minimize the extent of their financial responsibility of his extremely costly injuries. In doing so, I'm alleging that approximately [TEN] Dallas, Texas doctors knowingly, intentionally, and recklessly falsified Bruce's medical records for profit; I'm alleging that several Dallas, Texas police officers knowingly, intentionally, and recklessly falsified Bruce's accident reports for profit; and, I'm also alleging that many other medical professionals knowingly, intentionally, and recklessly failed to provide Bruce with the required medical treatment for profit [mind you, both Workers' Compensation insurance and UnitedHealthcare insurance was ALLEGEDLY at play in this matter]. However, their nefarious plot was discovered by Bruce's wife, which lead to numerous individuals engaging in many overt acts of organized crime against her and her seriously injured husband, Bruce. Also, pertinent information relevant to this matter is being sent to some of you via other means.
#FBI: One doesn't have to be a brain surgeon, rocket scientist, or mechanical engineer to understand this evidentiary fact: The Dallas, Texas doctors and police officers involved in the above matter have intentionally committed a series of heinous crimes for profit against this Black family. "FOLKS, IF YOU LIVE IN DALLAS, TEXAS AND IS A BLACK PERSON...YOU SHOULD BE VERY, VERY AFRAID TO BECOME ILL OR INJURED, BECAUSE [SOME] DOCTORS ARE EAGERLY WILLING TO KILL PEOPLE--WITH ANTICIPATION OF IMMUNITY--JUST TO CHASE THE 💵BENJAMINS💵!" Inquiring Minds Wanna Know: Shouldn't people--regardless of their social status--who commit crimes be wearing a pair of metal bracelets and/or spending time in a miniscule cage with metal bars for doors?🤔
#FBI: News Flash: If you're Black or Hispanic, and you're participating in the criminality of this saga, you're truly failing to understand the real gravity of your actions! Do you fail to understand that this is a Black person's trials and tribulations today, but tomorrow it maybe YOU, or your loved ones fighting for their lives? "Boo-boo, don't be nobody's fool, because, do you really fail to understand that this level of systemic RACISM and HATE don't love nobody that look like you, NOT even YOU?" Please understand your role: YOU are just the hired help that is willing to do someone's dirty work so they can keep their hands sparkling clean! And, you're allowing hateful, racist people pay you to behave like their obedient dogs [yes, actual dogs, Black monkeys, and other Black racist stereotypes are being used to actively promote racism in this ongoing saga].
#FBI: News Flash Black People: The real subliminal message that's being promoted is: ALL Black people are Black monkeys, other races of people can sic dogs on Black people with impunity, Black people should die like a diseased dog [without receiving proper medical treatment], Black people should gladly hate other Black people, Black people should beat other Black people down when they're in the midst of their turbulent storms, and Black people should openly display abject contempt towards their own race. Do you fail to realize that everything that you do, is a direct reflection of what's already inside you? How can Black people ever expect to rise up, when entirely too many other Black people have become comfortable pulling each other down? This ordeal epitomizes the quintessential crabs-in-a-barrel-mentality!
#FBI: Just consider this for a moment. Once again, some people in Dallas, Texas thought so little of an esteemed, long-termed member of Congress--a Black woman--by failing to provide her with proper treatment that resulted in her dying with extreme indignity. As a Black person living in Dallas, Texas what do you think will happen to you when you're seriously ill or injured? Sadly, when it's ALL about the 💵benjamins💵, Black people are definitely expendable.

Death of Tyre Nichols revives calls in Congress for policing reforms
Protesters rally against the fatal police assault of Tyre Nichols, outside of the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center in Detroit, Michigan, on January 27, 2023. - The US city of Memphis released January 27, 2023 graphic video footage depicting the fatal police assault of a 29-year-old Black man, as cities nationwide braced for a night of protests against police brutality. Five Memphis officers, also all Black, were charged with second-degree murder in the beating of Tyre Nichols, who died in hospital on January 10 three days after being stopped on suspicion of reckless driving. After officials in Memphis released graphic footage Friday depicting the death of Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old Black man, at the hands of police, members of Congress said Sunday they need to revive their effort to pass substantial police reforms.
The five officers involved in the deadly encounter were charged with murder, kidnapping, assault and other charges on Thursday. All five officers were dismissed from the police department, and the specialized policing unit they were a part of was disbanded Saturday.
Police reform talks fell apart in Congress in 2021 after lawmakers failed to strike a bipartisan deal. Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Dick Durbin, D-Ill., said Sunday that while passing those reforms would be "the right starting point," it is ultimately "not enough."
Durbin said that while he knows law enforcement officers risk their lives for Americans every day, many of these same officers are engaging in "horrible conduct" that needs to be changed for the better.
"What we saw on the streets of Memphis was just inhumane, horrible," he told ABC's "This Week." "I don't know what created this rage in these police officers that they would congratulate themselves for beating a man to death. But that is literally what happened."
Durbin added that he would not rule out a federal investigation into the entire Memphis Police Department following Nichols' death.
Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said he thinks that while there is reform that can happen, no amount of legislature could account for the "evil" and "lack of respect for human life" that he saw in the footage. He said he does not believe those five officers represent the vast majority of law enforcement.
"We'll look at what we think makes sense to help this, to make sure they have the proper training, but no amount of training is going to change what we saw in that video," Jordan told NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday.
Some policing reforms were already in place in Memphis at the time of Nichols' death, including a requirement for officers to de-escalate situations where they saw others using excessive force. Ben Crump, the attorney representing Nichols' family, said Sunday he thinks the culture of policing is to blame, as it has normalized the use of extreme force.
"Just as much those officers are responsible for the death of Tyre Nichols, so is the implicit bias police culture that exists in America," Crump told ABC's "This Week."
Crump said he thinks this culture will only begin to change if federal police reforms are implemented. Without them, he said, "We're going to continue to see these hashtags proliferate."
While reforms and training can have an impact, another effective deterrent to this behavior is when officers around the country see what will happen to them if they engage in this kind of violence, said Jason Armstrong, former Ferguson, Missouri, police chief. Armstrong led the Ferguson police force after it was overhauled following the fatal shooting of Michael Brown in 2014.
Armstrong said since the five officers were fired and charged, officers are seeing that this behavior is not going to be tolerated. He said for some officers, it doesn't matter if they are wearing body cameras or if there are witnesses, they are still going to resort to violence and that culture is what needs to be rooted out.
"Unfortunately, violence is what was natural for these individuals in this instance," Armstrong told ABC's "This Week" Sunday. "And that's where we have to do a better job as law enforcement leaders, is identifying these individuals that are inside our organizations and our police departments and getting them out of the profession before something like this happens."

Sage X3 Pricing, Reviews & Features
Sage X3 Pricing, Reviews & Features
When ascertaining cost-savings, it is important to identify key areas and winnow out extraneous data to ensure the results are accurate. Forrester’s research included customer interviews and other fact-finding, but was not an exhaustive assessment of the situation. Nevertheless, the benefits derived after implementing Sage X3 were noticeable and found in many areas of the company’s operations. Sage X3 helps the average business to improve efficiencies, automate workflows and alerts, and much more. Research shows that a mid-size company in the business of manufacturing, distribution and services can receive a net present value benefit of US $1.7 million and an ROI of 177%. Sage X3 provides your entire team with the information they need to make faster and more strategic decisions.
It offers strong functionality for production, supply chain management and project management (for field services, repairs, etc.). The platform lets users gain insight into business performance and cost at every stage of the pipeline. Tangerine also offers its Nectari business intelligence software, an analytics and data management solution also branded as Sage Enterprise Intelligence .
“It’s a post-modern vision of componentized solutions where you can mix and match task-specific-apps to build your own system,” said Anderson. Coffee Briefing-September 13, 2022-ThinkData partners with Google; Apple Pay surpasses Mastercard to process over $6 trillion in a year; Instagram to cut back on... Using the approval delegation feature, you have the ability to temporarily swap an approver for another approver for a period of time set by you so that invoices and purchase orders can continue on their approval workflow.
NetSuite, on the other hand, has strong native functionality in this area. Jeff Jedras is a technology journalist with IT World Canada and a member of the IT Business team. He began his career in technology journalism in the late 1990s, covering the Ottawa technology sector for Silicon Valley North and the Ottawa Business Journal. He later covered the technology scene in Vancouver before joining IT World Canada in Toronto in 2005, covering enterprise IT for ComputerWorld Canada and the channel for Computer Dealer News. His writing has also appeared in the Vancouver Sun & the Ottawa Citizen. Sage AP Automation integration supports the latest two versions of Sage 500, which is in line with Sage’s own support policy.
For those uncertain of where X3 fits into the grand scheme of things at Sage, the company’s president Blair Crump explained that it typically serves organizations with 200 – 2,000 employees that have complex needs. For companies like that, it provides a lot of value; he cited a 2016 Forrester Total Economic Impact study stating that the return on investment for X3 customers is 177 per cent, with payback in just over five months. With keynotes and breakout sessions delivered by Sage leaders, customers, and partners, the event is designed to provide the Sage X3 community with the tools to help them grow their business with Sage. For small companies that have simple processes and want simple software to match, QuickBooks (plus some add-ons) could work well until you need ERP. But if what you’re looking for is ERP software that connects your entire business in one place, QuickBooks simply won’t do the trick.
Forrester Consulting conducted the Total Economic Impact of Sage X3 in order to study and examine the potential return on investment organizations may realize by deploying Sage X3. Sage X3 increases usability, productivity, and adoptability of your business management solution by providing highly-personalized access to relevant data across departments and job roles. She said that there’s been good success in the grower market, as well as in other process manufacturing. Next up will be food and beverage, which is big in the U.S. but underserved here. The big move this year is towards a platform approach developing and enabling an ecosystem of products and services around X3, said Rob Sinfield, vice-president product for Sage X3. More than a dozen ecosystem partners exhibited at the event, including Canadian firms QBuild, Prophix, and True Sky. Regardless of the ERP software you choose, it’s not uncommon to do some level of customization to accommodate specific business processes.
NetSuite has a much bigger ecosystem of add-on solutions and integrations that can extend the core ERP functionality. While there are add-ons for Business ByDesign, the options are fewer, which could limit the functionality you have access to. As a public cloud solution, NetSuite automatically releases new versions a couple of times a year. With SAP Business One, you can choose when you want to upgrade your system. You’ll have more flexibility in the timing of upgrades, but it’s also easy to fall behind if you choose to skip a few new versions.
The integrations with Sage 50, Sage 100, Sage X3, and Intacct all require third-party software, and the prices for those integrations differs by publisher. Sage X3 empowers you to prioritize, track, and manage all aspects of your production leading to improved planning, scheduling, and costing. Sage X3 delivers robust single and multi-level bill of materials management to ensure the highest levels of product consistency, quality, and collaboration. Sage X3 covers financial, personnel, cost and budget accounting, commitments, and fixed assets. In addition, it easily handles transfers from one country to another, and between subsidiaries and your headquarters. Personalizes screens to improve access to critical data and daily tasks through visual process maps.

The former Minneapolis Police officer who held down George Floyd's legs during his fatal restraint pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter Wednesday as part of a plea deal, attorneys said.
Thomas Lane, 39, was one of three former officers to face charges of aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter and aiding and abetting second-degree unintentional murder related to Floyd's death in May 2020.
In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to dismiss the murder charge, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison's office said. State and defense attorneys jointly recommended to the court a sentence of 36 months, according to his office.
"I am pleased Thomas Lane has accepted responsibility for his role in Floyd's death," Ellison said. "His acknowledgment he did something wrong is an important step toward healing the wounds of the Floyd family, our community, and the nation. While accountability is not justice, this is a significant moment in this case and a necessary resolution on our continued journey to justice."
Defense attorney Earl Gray said Lane agreed to plead guilty because he faced a mandatory 12-year sentence if he were to be convicted of the murder charge.
"My client did not want to risk losing the murder case so he decided to plead guilty to manslaughter with a 3-year sentence, to be released in 2 years, and the murder case dismissed," Gray said. "The sentence will be concurrent with his federal sentence and he will serve his time in a federal institution. He has a newborn baby and did not want to risk not being part of the child's life."
Lane is scheduled to be sentenced on September 21 on the state charge, according to the court.
He was among three former officers already convicted in a federal court in February of violating Floyd's civil rights. A sentencing date has not been set in that case.
In a statement, Floyd family attorneys Ben Crump, Antonio Romanucci and Jeff Storms praised the guilty plea but said there was still more to be done.
"Today's guilty plea by former officer Thomas Lane brings the Floyd family another step towards closure for the horrific and historic murder of George Floyd," they said. "While today is a step in the right direction, we only need to look to the recent and tragic killing of Amir Locke to understand that the City of Minneapolis has a long journey ahead to regain the trust of its citizenry."
In early February, a Minneapolis Police officer fatally shot Locke, a 22-year-old Black man, within a few seconds of entering his apartment after Locke emerged from a couch with a handgun and raised it toward an officer, prosecutors said. The officer and others on the Minneapolis SWAT team were there serving a warrant in a homicide investigation.
Ellison and Hennepin County Attorney Michael Freeman last month declined to file charges against any officers involved in the shooting.
What Lane did during the Floyd's arrest
Former officers Lane, Tou Thao and J. Alexander Kueng faced state and federal charges for their actions – or lack thereof – as their colleague Derek Chauvin pressed his knee into the neck and back of Floyd, who was handcuffed and lying on his stomach, for over nine minutes.
During the arrest, Lane held down Floyd's legs, Kueng held down Floyd's torso, and Thao stood nearby and kept a crowd of upset bystanders back. Harrowing video taken by a bystander showed Floyd, a 46-year-old Black man, desperately pleading for them to let him breathe and calling for his mother before he lost consciousness and died.
Outrage over the incident led to an international protest movement against the ways that police treat Black citizens. All four officers were fired and charged after Floyd's death.
Lane, Thou and Kueng had pleaded not guilty to the state charges and rejected a plea deal with prosecutors last month, the attorney general's office said. Thao and Kueng are still expected to face state trial next month.
Chauvin was convicted in state court last year of murder in Floyd's death and was sentenced to more than 22 years in prison. As part of a plea agreement, Chauvin pleaded guilty in December to federal civil rights charges related to Floyd's death and the restraint of a teenager in a separate incident.
In the federal trial, Lane testified that he was on his fourth day on the job, while Chauvin had worked for the department for over 18 years. Lane twice asked Chauvin to reposition Floyd during the restraint but was denied both times, according to his testimony and body camera footage.
The first time, Lane asked Chauvin whether they should put Floyd's legs up, as they are taught in the academy. "No, we're good," Chauvin said, according to Lane's testimony.
Lane then said he asked Chauvin whether they should roll Floyd on his side. "No, we're good like this," Chauvin responded, according to Lane's testimony.
At Chauvin's state trial, a series of medical experts testified that Floyd died of "positional asphyxia," or the inability to sufficiently breathe due to his prone position and the pressure on his back.
An ambulance eventually arrived and first responders lifted Floyd, who was limp at that point, into the vehicle. Lane joined them in the ambulance and did CPR on Floyd.

Y'all remember that episode in season 1 where the stinger bit was abed dancing and being like "am I crumping? am I crumping? how about now?" to troy who demonstrates and then they both stop when jeff walks in like "what are u doing" and they say "crumping" and he says "no you're not" and then fucking dances with them to show them how it's done?
And then of course y'all remember Remedial Chaos Theory in season 3, which ends with Jeff leaving to get the pizza and he returns to EVERYBODY dancing to Roxanne and is like "see what happens when I leave you alone?" and just stands by watching all his friends dance like no one is watching while he eats some pizza?
These are two very different Jeffs, right? And the characterization implications break my heart. What insecurity did he succumb to in those two years? What wall did he put up in secret while it seemed his other walls were coming down?

#5yrsago Mary Blair and the World's Fair: Rolly Crump describes the birth of "it's a small world"
Tumblr media
Yesterday, I posted about the publication of More Cute Stories, Volume 4: 1964/65 New York World's Fair, an audio memoir of Disney Imagineer Rolly Crump. I've been listening to it today, and enjoying it immensely. I wrote to Bamboo Forest, the publishers, and secured permission to share a couple of MP3s from the collection with you.
The first clip is Crump's hilarious tale of the trip to NYC on the private Disney plane to set up the World's Fair pavilions. The Disney plane was dry, and when they stopped to  refuel in Texas, an enterprising art director ran out and secured vodka and gin for the remainder of the journey, which apparently turned quite hilarious.
But the best is in part two, in which Crump describes his working relationship with the legendary Mary Blair, who came out of retirement to work on the Small World pavilion for the Fair. I love Blair's work -- everything from her Golden Books to her surreal, hyper-modernist version of Alice in Wonderland, but I knew nearly nothing about her as a person. Crump's lively narration brings Blair into focus as a charming polymath who designed her own clothes, drank martinis for lunch, and squired a wide-eyed kid from California around Manhattan with the self-assurance of a brilliant artist at the end of a long and storied career.
Many thanks again to Jeff and Bamboo Forest for permission to share these.

Ban on knocking
# violence
On Monday afternoon, a Minneapolis City Council committee held a hearing on the bomb ban following the death of Amir Locke, who was shot and killed in his apartment by a Minneapolis police officer while enforcing a bomb ban on Wednesday. As legislative negotiations continued, law enforcement and criminal justice experts, as well as Rock family activists and lawyers, provided the City Council with research and perspectives on the effects and harms of the bomb ban. Rachel Moran, a lawyer and criminal justice professor, told the hearing that no-knock orders allow police to enter someone's home without knocking, sometimes without even announcing their presence. If authorized by a judge, the police can also enter outside the 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. window, which is normally restricted by a normal search warrant. Moran cited a New York Times investigation that found that at least 81 civilians and 13 law enforcement officers were killed -- and many more seriously injured -- in "non-knock" and "quick-knock" attacks in the United States between 2010 and 2016. "They're dangerous for residents and police," Moran said. Civil rights lawyers Ben Kropp, Antonio Romanucci and Jeff Storms, who represent members of the Rock family, blasted the policies of local lawmakers, which Storm called "half-measures." "This is an epic policy failure, and failed policies killed Amirlock," Mr. Crump said. Romanucci added that "no-knock" orders are "one of the most intrusive forms of government our community can experience. They can lead to unnecessary death and psychological trauma." Moran, Crump and Storms said the policy change on "no-knock" warrants did not have a major impact. More: Travis McMichael Withdraws Plea in Federal Murder Case of Ahmed Aberry Minneapolis Police Department updated its policy in November 2020 to limit "No knocking" search warrants to "urgent" cases. Minneapolis police must declare their presence and purpose before entering a home, unless announcing a police presence would pose an imminent threat. In these cases, supervisors may authorize officers to enter without informing them. Supervisors must provide evidence to support the decision before it can be signed and approved by a judge. "This is about proactive policymaking and instilling accountability," Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said in a statement announcing the policy in November. "We can't prevent every tragedy, but we can limit the likelihood of an adverse outcome. This new no-knock policy will set common expectations for our communities and set clear and objective standards within the department." That month, Mr. Moran said, the city reported that it was issuing an average of about 139 "no blasting" warrants a year. In the first 10 months after the so-called ban was issued, the city reported that it had filed 90 "no-knock" orders, according to Moran. "It's important to implore everybody that half of these measures really leave cities across the country with nowhere to go," Storms said. "It is important for the city not only to address the immediate problem, but also to take the time to think about how to prevent the next violation of civil rights, not just in relation to the bomb ban, but in other areas of policy practice and training." In response to Rock's death, Frey issued an injunction late Friday suspending the no-knock order. "No matter what information comes to light, it will not change the fact that Amir Locke's life was cut short," Frey said in a statement. "To ensure the safety of the public and officers, I am suspending the request and execution of such warrants in Minneapolis until a new policy is in place." However, if it is determined that there is an imminent threat of harm to individuals or the public, an officer may enforce a blasting ban under a suspension order. In these cases, according to the mayor, the chief must approve an arrest warrant. Frey will speak with the experts who helped craft Breonna's law to review and recommend revisions to the department's policy. The law, enacted in louisville, Kentucky, in 2020, banned no-knock orders after the shooting death of Brenna Taylor. More: Breonna Taylor Case: Law Passed in Breonna No-knock Order At a news conference Friday about Locke's death, Minneapolis Acting Police Chief Amelia Hoffman said, "A no-knock and a knock search warrant was obtained...... So that the SWAT team can assess the situation and make the best decision." Locke's case. Body camera footage released Thursday showed officers before executing a no-knock warrant when they encountered Lock, 22, who had been sleeping under a blanket on a couch in the apartment targeted by the warrant. Less than 10 seconds after police entered the room, he was seen holding a gun and starting to sit up, still covered with a blanket. When the officer sees the gun, hoffman said, "that's one of those moments where the officer has to make a split-second decision to evaluate the situation and determine if he feels there is a clear threat." Locke was not named in the arrest warrant, according to family attorney Ben Kropp at a news conference. The warrant was executed on behalf of Sao Paulo police, who are looking for a murder suspect. The Hennepin County medical examiner ruled Locke's death a homicide. More: More than a year after George Floyd was killed, Congress can't agree on police reform The officer who shot Locke was identified by police as Mark Hanneman. As a matter of policy, he has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation into the incident. It was not immediately clear whether Mr. Hannemann had legal representation. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison will work with the Hennepin County Attorney's office to review Locke's death, the office said in a news release Friday. Locke's killing sparked protests demanding justice for his killing. Hundreds of demonstrators chanted: "Who will bring down the revolution? We fall the revolution!" And "No Justice, No Peace," headed for the police district on Saturday. A caravan also pulled up at what ABC affiliate KSTP reported could be Hoffman's home. Protesters got out of cars in front of their homes, chanting and banging drums.

“Bosko and the Rebirth of Tiki” (2018, 32 min. Dir. Kurt Mattila) This documentary portrait of Bosko Hrnjak. follows the artist through his childhood in Los Angeles, education at Art Center College of Design and his unsung, pioneering work as the first individual to revive the lost art of carving Tikis, sculpting Tiki ceramics and building the first proper home Tiki bar. Much of what Polynesian Pop devotees take for granted today began with Hrnjak 30 years ago in Escondido. Based on extensive interviews with Hrnjak and his wife and collaborator Truus de Groot, the film contains further commentary from fellow Polynesian Pop luminaries such as Jeff “Beachbum” Berry and Sven Kirsten.
“The Whimsical Imagineer” (2018, 29 min. Dir. Ken Kebow) When Rolly Crump interviewed for an animation job at Disney back in the 1950s, he was told he had “the worst portfolio of anyone ever hired at Disney Animation Studio,” but it turned out he was one of the best hires the company ever made. Working with Walt Disney himself, as well as the original group of Disney Imagineers, Rolly went on to create some of Disneyland's most beloved attractions, including the Haunted Mansion, the Enchanted Tiki Room and It's a Small World. The recipient of numerous awards and accolades, this documentary takes viewers on an informative and entertaining journey with Rolly himself, as well as Disney legend Bob Gurr, Rolly's son and Imagineer Chris Crump and a number of others who worked with Rolly over the years to help create “the happiest place on earth!”
Discussion between films with documentary subjects Bosko Hrnjak and Rolly Crump (via Skype), moderated by King Kukulele.Tickets: $15 General, $12 Cinematheque Members. No vouchers.

#5yrsago Imagineer Rolly Crump on the 1964 NY World's Fair: audio memoir
Tumblr media
Jeff writes in with wonderful news:  the release of Disney Legend Rolly Crump's More Cute Stories, Volume 4: 1964/65 New York World's Fair. This high-quality recording includes sixty minutes of all new stories about Rolly's involvement with the legendary 'Billion-Dollar Fair'. It is available on CD and as a digital download.
The Imagineers, those men and women who helped Walt Disney bring his creations to life, have achieved legendary status among theme park enthusiasts. And now, on the 50th anniversary of the 1964/65 New York World's Fair, one of the most beloved Imagineers, Rolly Crump, sits down to ruminate on his time working on the attractions Disney built for the historic multinational exhibition. Rolly personally had a hand in creating, installing, and maintaining the Tower of the Four Winds, Progressland, Ford's Magic Skyway, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, and it's a small world. From tender tales of touring New York City with his idol, Mary Blair, to scandalous stories of speeding cars and drunken Imagineers, Rolly tells us what it was really like to work on the 'Billion-Dollar Fair'.
Jeff Heimbuch, who co-authored Rolly's biography, It's Kind of a Cute Story, also recorded More Cute Stories Volume 4. 'Though I never had the chance to see it for myself,'said Jeff, 'the 1964/65 New York World's Fair has always fascinated me. Not only because of its cultural significance, but also for its ties to Walt Disney. Hearing Rolly talk about his time working on the projects for the Fair, along with what life was like at the Fair itself, is a real treat. I'll never look at it the same way again.'
