Grape gummies, but make it translucent! Neat.

These had a pretty classic soft Japanese grape gummy flavor, though not super sweet. The weird thing—besides the color—was that they had kind of a cooling sensation, like mint or Sichuan pepper! I liked it.

The *extra* weird thing is that it does not say anything about this anywhere on the package or the website, and also my husband didn't notice it. So there's a non-zero chance that I am allergic to these or possibly hallucinating. Okay!

like yes totk is technically much darker than other zelda games, but is there any emotional weight to it? when the plot consists of these out-of-context cutscenes that you can collect in any random order at any point in the game (or not at all) with zero impact on the plot or link himself? somehow the silly toon zelda game managed to make toon king daphnes of hyrule's sacrifice more heart-wrenching than king rauru of hyrule's, and the toon guy was literally a boat for most of the game

I lowkey ship Touga and Utena in a way of tragic one-sided pining, Touga too deep into his own dellusions to come back to the surface but the love was there and genuine, her evil distorted mirror image. But also, it's such a hillarious dynamic: Touga, 17, schoolfamous playboy, entire waiting lines of girls begging for him to just breathe into their direction, trying to seduce the most butch girl at the school, and the best pick-up line he musters up is: "I'm a total normal boy."

I don't usually care that much about grammar, in that it's important to me only if close reading it stands to say interesting things in a story or about a character, or if it's otherwise impacting meaning in some way. Getting up in arms about typos/errors that don't impact anything, meh.

BUT. I USE THIS PHRASE OFTEN ENOUGH NOW IT'S BOTHERING ME. In fact, it bothers me so much I just found out that I finally *do* have the polls feature! (I did not, for a very very very long time, long after it seemed everyone else did.)

-- "captain's meeting" -- possessive, the meeting of the captains. The meeting belongs to the captains. Potential double meaning, in that it could be a meeting for captains, or a meeting called by a captain (within their own division)?

-- captains meeting -- plural. A meeting of multiple captains.

-- captains' meeting -- both possessive and plural. A meeting of multiple captains for multiple captains.

-- Or even Captain's meeting??? Capital C? -- a meeting called by the Captain (Commander), but shortened for ease??

MIT uses "captains meeting." For the National Senior Games, though, it's "captain's meeting." And the Mock Trial Association uses "captains' meeting." All of these are used to describe a meeting for captains, attended by multiple captains.

the midnight diner is like. here are a bunch of people with less than perfect lives. we're going to show you how they go through hardships and sometimes sad bitter or bittersweet endings. and even after their stories are done they will still appear in other people's stories because at the end of the day their lives kept moving despite not being perfect and that's alright. and we're going to make you think about what life and happiness really mean through their stories and you're going to realize that even if things are bad or you don't have what you wished you'd have you can still be happy with the semi-strangers around you that have similar hardships as yours. because the most basic things human use as comfort is food. and little things like a warm meal will mean everything to you when you really need them. and these people will learn to accept what they have even when its not perfect or exactly what they wanted and no matter what's happening in their lives they'll still find themselves coming back to the midnight diner to see familiar faces and chat with the nameless man that fed them when they most needed it. and you're going to cry at the end of every episode

so basically. after watching all twelve hundred whatever episodes of the pokemon anime my final take is that ash has 7384849384 hands and they are ALL for pokemon battling

i know it's not where they're going with the show and it's just second to last episode drama and break up but oh how i wish this little unassuming show about baking would invert our expectations and actually let the couple stay separated but on the good terms giving the message that sometimes love and care isn't enough but is a good starting point and even though relationship didn't end up working out it wasn't unimportant bc it pushed one person to at least begin the change for the better in their life and the other to reevaluate how they interact with others and start to respect themselves more idk idk
