hey! do you consider yourself a furry? if so, do you enjoy being in the community? if not, what label do you use, and why? (been wanting to ask this for a while:))
Sure, I don't mind being called a furry. My art certainly qualifies as furry art and my characters are furry characters. But I've never been that connected or active in the furry fandom in general. There's a lot of core experiences that I'm missing: I don't have a fursona, I don't own a fursuit and I've never been to a furry con. My online circles are very furry-centric but I don't think any of my irl friends consider themselves furries, despite our shared tastes and interests.

Okay I'm on more of my Scavengers Reign bullshit. Let's talk about Fiona, specifically the vision!Fiona that the Hollow uses to communicate with Kamen, and the thoughtful detail the show puts in her evolution from episode to episode, and her eyes in particular.
At the very beginning when Kamen first encounters the Hollow, she is hazy, pulled from real memories, and then very simply adapted into a scene. I get the impression that the simple feel-good/motivation vibe is what happens for the simpler creatures the Hollow is usually manipulating in a symbiotic survival relationship. Notably, her eyes are visible through her glasses. The tone is warm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next, Fiona is clear, in full color, and conveying more complex ideas while appearing in the real environment. She gives directions but is still friendly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But then we start to get shots where light reflects on her glasses and just partially obscures her eyes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Periodically we see a variety of real memories where Fiona is herself (albeit memories selected by the Hollow to convey certain ideas), but the evolution of the conjured Fiona has a trajectory. As the mutual corruption continues between Kamen and the Hollow, with the "hallucination" version of Fiona we see her eyes less and less.
As she gradually becomes less recognizably Fiona and more Other, an arbiter of the Hollow's desires and a refraction of Kamen's own guilt and self-hatred, her glasses are always opaque with reflection. After all, it's not Fiona looking at Kamen, it's (partly) Kamen looking at himself. And a well-earned dose of anime glasses drama, of course.
By the end, her affect is cold, and we don't see her eyes through her glasses at all, even from an angle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her message, too, is pointed: "Your brain is poison. You've always known that. Remember?"
But underneath the cruelty is something I think the real Fiona and Kamen agree on: "It's time for you to come out of hiding and accept that. Look at yourself."
Kamen can't keep hiding in the Hollow, hiding from his guilt and pain and utter despair. He has to face it. And he tumbles out into space in his vision, hurtling towards the planet and Consequences. And out in the real world, we see a symbol of that illusion finally breaking in the real Fiona's glasses, emphasizing the reality of her death:
Tumblr media
The Hollow continues his rampage - there is too much momentum to their feedback loop now to just stop without outside help - but Kamen at least is no longer deceiving himself.

Update. — 27th June 2023.
Tumblr media
Happy Pride Month 🌈 to those who have been celebrating. Much love to you all.
It's been a while since a progress update which isn't great from me, but now I'm posting one with a much neater and more professional look. My thoughts are that I'll post these at least once a month so readers are always kept in the loop as I feel like I've kept you all in the dark recently about what’s been going on. Anywhoo…
Firstly, I finished my undergraduate degree! My results that came out confirmed that I'll be graduating. I’m graduating with a 1st which is the highest degree classification that can be awarded in the UK — so, this writer is kinda smart and will be throwing a grad cap in the air — so that's kind of a huge personal accomplishment!
But more importantly, in interactive fiction terms anyway, I finished chapter 10! It's done. She's a chunky chapter that's full of loads of... stuff and drama! There's so much going on in the chapter: angst, comfort, a new character, found family — so you're in for a ride, to say the least.
I made a few changes too. The reader can choose/input their own pronouns, your mc can choose whether or not they wear glasses, there are new graphics for those that play with a black background (shown below!), alongside some editorial stuff — new choices etc. It's now with the beta readers.
Tumblr media
On top of chapter 10, there's also Tumblr stuff that will be made available. I've had a cool, chapter 10 sneak peek edit in my drafts that I'll be posting tomorrow. I hit a follower milestone, so when the public update is out I'll be doing a follower giveaway.
Soo, as an overview: in eight months I wrote a 10k word dissertation, bagged a degree, got accepted to do a master's degree, and finished writing a 73k word chapter. So, whilst I hate that this update has been a long time coming, a lot of academic stuff happened in my life which made a lot of things hectic.
I really appreciate you being patient with me. I know it's not easy or fun waiting for wip updates, but there is a Golden one on the horizon and I hope it will be worth the wait.

As the sun set, you and Serena walked alongside one another. The New York air was cold, you certainly didn't miss the unrelenting weather of New York. Serena's arm looped into yours as you walked, enjoying each other's company.
"Look, don't take what Blair said to heart. She's just hurt that you left without saying anything." You began as you looked up at the taller blonde.
She looked like she was debating something in her head before she spoke up. "I know, I'm not worried. I'm talking to her tonight and hopefully it'll be the end of this whole Blair thing. I just want everything to be back the way it was."
"Me too. But it will be, I'm sure Blair will find a way to look past this whole thing." You reassured Serena as you two walked the streets, your face cold to the touch because of the temperature.
"So, what's going on with you and your family?" Serena questioned as she changed the focus back to you.
You took a moment to gather your thoughts, the weight of Serena's question settling heavily. "Well, where do I even begin?" you muttered, a wry smile playing at the corners of your lips.
"It's... complicated," you began, choosing your words carefully. "My dad just told me this morning that him and his wife are having a new baby."
"Oh, wow." Serena's eyes widen in shock as she stared down at me. "How long have they even been married?"
"Like, a year." You chuckled, looking up at the blonde's empathetic gaze. "It's been tough to watch it happen. I missed you, a lot. It hurt me too that... you just left without a word."
Serena's gaze softened as she heard your words. You were always the understanding one but it looked like this time, she really did hurt you. "It wasn't because of you or Blair." She began, her expression gulity as she continued to speak. "I had to escape, Y/N. My parents, Blair, just New York. It was beginning to weigh on me. And now I'm back and I have to..." She paused as she looked back at me.
"What? It's okay, you can tell me." You spoke softly as she sighed. She was debating whether or not telling you was the best idea before she realized that it was just you, maybe the most trustworthy person she knows - or maybe in the whole Upper East-Side.
Serena exhaled before she continued. "Eric... He attempted."
She didn't have to continue or give you more context for you to understand. Your jaw slightly slacked as she spoke. Eric? The sweetest boy ever and her little brother?
"I still don't even know why." Serena began as she scoffed. "I feel like a shitty sister. I didn't even know he was feeling like this, Y/N. And when I found out, it was... too late. I didn't see the signs, or maybe I just didn't want to."
You couldn't even imagine the guilt Serena felt as she spoke. "I'm so sorry, Serena," you murmured, your heart aching for your friend as she shared her pain with you.
Serena let out a shaky breath, her gaze meeting yours as she silently conveyed her gratitude. "I just... I needed to get away, to clear my head," she continued, her voice barely above a whisper. "But now, being back here, it's like everything's come rushing back. And I don't know how to handle it."
"I know how you feel." You responded, a faint smile on your face as Serena stopped before pulling you into a tight, unexpected hug. You hugged for a few more moments before Serena began to pull away, sniffling.
"You have no idea how relieving it is to hear you say that, Y/N/N. At least I have you on my side, right?" Her voice broke slightly as her lips curved into a sad smile.
Tears welled up in your eyes as you returned Serena's embrace, the weight of her words sinking deep into your heart. "Always, Serena," you whispered, your voice choked with tears. "You'll always have me."
Serena nodded, a glimmer of hope flickering in her blue eyes as she wiped away a stray tear. "Thank you, Y/N," she whispered, her voice filled with gratitude.
"No need to thank me," you replied, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze. "That's what friends are for."
──౨ৎ──
Music played through a speaker as you curled your hair in the middle of Blair's huge room. You two were getting ready for the Kiss on the Lips party and you weren't gonna lie, you were excited. One thing you definitely missed were the Manhattan parties, they were always so fun and entertaining, something you were craving right about now.
And you needed a distraction from the impending drama of your family, of course.
The up-beat music filled the spacious room, adding to the excitement in the air ss you curled your hair. You stole glances at Blair, who was applying her makeup in front of the vanity.
"You excited for tonight?" Blair asked, her gaze meeting yours through the mirror.
"Yeah, I missed these parties. Parisians definitely don't party like we do." You smirked as Blair laughed. "And you're looking extra stunning tonight, Blair," you commented, admiring her reflection in the mirror.
Blair flashed you a grateful smile, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Thanks, Y/N. You're not looking too bad yourself," she replied, her tone teasing as she turned to give you a playful wink.
You began trying to tie your hair back but kept failing. An annoyed scoff left your mouth before Blair turned her attention back to you, getting up from her vanity to come and join you. "Need help?"
You looked up at your best friend, a smile enveloping on your lips as you nodded. "Yes, please." You let out a laugh as she joined you, grabbing your hair and beginning to tie it up.
"So you're telling me you spent six months in Paris and still don't know how to put your hair in a good half-up half-down style?" Blair teased as you laughed again.
Blair's playful banter eased the tension that had been building within you, and you couldn't help but chuckle at her teasing remark.
"Hey, I was too busy soaking up the culture to worry about perfecting my hair tying skills," you retorted, a grin spreading across your face as Blair arranged your hair into a effortless half-up half-down style.
When you two were kids, Serena, Blair and you had something you were very good at. For Serena, it was her fashion sense and for Blair, it was her amazing hair skills. And for you, it was makeup. So when you would all get ready, Blair would always help you with your hair and Serena would help you with your outfit, and in return you would help them with their makeup, that's the way it's always been.
Well, except now.
Blair smirked, her fingers deftly weaving your locks into a half-up half-down style. "Well, lucky for you, you've got me to help you out," she replied with a wink, her confidence evident.
"Is Nate coming with us in the limo?" You asked, trying to act nonchalant as Blair helped you with your hair.
She paused before continuing. "Yeah, he is. And speaking of Nate, um... I actually needed to talk to you about something."
Your heart began racing as Blair finished your hair, moving to take a seat next to you. "You kissed Nate."
Your heart dropped as Blair spoke, feeling instantly guilty. "Blair, I promise that I was-"
"Drunk and confused, I know. Nate told me, don't worry." She had a smile on her lips as she continued to gaze back at you. As you observed her expression more, she didn't seem angry at all. "It doesn't matter because you both were drunk. And you're my real best friend."
"Blair, I promise you that it was just a peck. And it was no feelings whatsoever." You couldn't stop the lies from leaving your mouth as Blair nodded.
"Nate told me," she repeated. "Listen, you've been there for me since we were kids. And you didn't leave me like Serena did. Plus, I know you and I know you'd never do anything to hurt me. So let tonight mark the day we just leave all this drama in the past?"
You were surprised at Blair's maturity and the genuine forgiveness she extended toward you.. Despite the guilt gnawing at you, her words brought a sense of relief, knowing that she trusted you enough to let go of the incident with Nate.
"Yeah, of course," you replied, a sense of gratitude washing over you. "Thank you, Blair. I really appreciate it."
"Nate is your best friend, too. I don't want you to feel like you need to cut him out of your life, okay?" Blair's voice softened as she turned back to face you, her eyes filled with genuine concern.
"It's not that easy, Blair. And plus, I wouldn't want to make you feel uncomfortable." You tried to make up an excuse but Blair's gaze was unrelenting as she shook her head.
"One kiss won't ruin a whole friendship." She scoffed as she silented you quickly. "Don't think of it as for Nate, do it for me. He needs you, Y/N."
He needs you, that echoed in your mind for a few seconds as you tried to think of a way to respond. She was right; Nate had been there for you through thick and thin, just as you had been for him. But the memory of that kiss, however brief and inconsequential it seemed, still gnawed at you.
"I know you're looking out for both of us, Blair," you finally replied, meeting her gaze with sincerity. "And I appreciate that. I'll try to... be there for Nate, for you."
Blair's expression softened, a hint of relief flickering in her eyes. "Thank you, Y/N. That means a lot to me."
"And one more thing." Blair spoke as she got up, beginning to walk to her vanity. "Serena is not to be trusted. You're the only real person I know right now and... I just want to tell you because you're far too forgiving to be friends with a person like Serena. She doesn't want what's best for you."
You felt a knot form in your stomach as Blair's words sank in. Serena had always been a source of comfort for you and Blair. You thought that Serena had fixed this whole mess earlier. Blair's warning cast a shadow of doubt over your perception of her.
"What do you mean?" you asked, your voice tinged with concern as you followed Blair to her vanity, unable to shake off the feeling of unease. "Blair, she's our best friend. You can't just cut her out-"
"She's not our best friend anymore. Just trust me, okay?" Blair turned to face you, her expression angry as she met your gaze. "And I don't want to see you get hurt."
You nodded slowly, absorbing Blair's warning with a mix of concern and uncertainty.
"But let's just focus on tonight, alright?" She began applying lip gloss as you watched her.
You were suddenly regretting coming back to the train-wreck that is the Upper-East Side drama.
──౨ৎ──
You all stepped out of the limo, the music from the party pulsating through the night air, adding to the excitement coursing through your veins. The Kiss on the Lips party was in full swing, the sound of laughter and chatter filling the air as you made your way towards the entrance.
As you stepped onto the sidewalk, you couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement coursing through you, mingled with a touch of anxiousness because of the conversation you'd had with Blair, roughly an hour ago.
Blair linked her arm with yours, a reassuring gesture as she flashed you a confident smile. "Ready to have some fun?"
You returned her smile with a nod, determined to put aside any lingering doubts or worries for the night. "Absolutely. Let's make it a night to remember."
But before you two could walk away, Blair's eyes lingered to behind you as she rose her eyebrows. "Actually, you have someone you need to talk to."
You turned your head and your eyes fell on Nate. You rolled your eyes as you turned back at Blair. "Not now, Blair. I just want to get drunk and-"
"Now, Y/N." She gave you a strict look and before you could protest, she called over Nate. You silently cursed her as he came over to the two of you. You didn't know why she was so persistent on you making up with Nate.
Blair's insistence left you feeling slightly annoyed, but you knew there was no arguing with her when she had that determined look in her eyes. With a sigh, you turned your attention to Nate as he approached, his expression a mix of uncertainty and anticipation.
"Hey, guys." Nate greeted you, a nervous smile playing on his lips. His eyes shifted to Blair as she gave him a nod.
You sighed inwardly, getting yourself ready to the inevitable conversation. "Hey, Nate. What's up?"
Blair glanced between the two of you, a hint of satisfaction in her expression before she excused herself, disappearing into the crowd with Kati and Isabel.
"I, uh... wanted to talk to you," Nate began, his gaze shifting between you and the ground. "Let's go somewhere more quiet."
"Sure," you replied, following Nate's lead as he guided you to a quieter corner of the room, away from everyone else.
Nate took a deep breath, his expression serious yet tinged with uncertainty. "Look, Y/N, I know things have been weird between us since... you know."
"Yeah," you replied softly, the memory of that drunken kiss still fresh in your mind despite your efforts to push it aside.
"I still meant what I said." Nate spoke softly and before you could protest, he continued. "I meant that I really do love you. I still do. But this morning, you were right. You are Blair's best friend and I can't pit you two against each other."
Your heart skipped a beat at Nate's confession, his words stirring a mix of emotions within you. You struggled to find the right response, caught between the weight of his words and the loyalty you felt towards Blair.
"But none of this matters without you, Y/N. When you left, I've never felt more alone." Nate let out a sigh as he gazed at you, almost adoringly. "I had no one to go to. Chuck doesn't understand like you do and it was the longest and worst six months of my life. I don't ever wanna lose you again, and if that means pushing aside my obvious feelings for you... then so be it."
"Nate, I..." You faltered, the words catching in your throat as you searched for the right response. His sincerity was palpable, his eyes pleading with you to understand the depth of his feelings. "I don't know what to say."
"I don't need you to." Nate offered you a small smile, his gaze unwavering as he reached out to gently grasp your hand. "I didn't know how to say it before. But I needed you to know, Y/N. You mean everything to me."
The warmth of his touch sent a shiver down your spine, a flood of conflicting emotions washing over you. You knew the implications of his confession, the potential fallout it could have on with everyone. But in that moment, all you could focus on was the connection between you and Nate, the bond that had endured through the years.
"I missed you too, Nate," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. "And I don't want to lose you either."
Nate's grin widened, a sense of relief washing over his features as he squeezed your hand in return. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
You slowly pulled your hand out of his grip as you sighed. "Then we need to just stay friends, okay?"
Nate's smile mirrored yours, a sense of relief evident in his expression. "Agreed," he said, extending a hand towards you. "Friends?"
"Friends," you affirmed, clasping his hand firmly in yours. "Now let's put everything in the past and get absolutely shit-faced tonight."
Nate chuckled, a genuine laugh escaping his lips as he nodded in agreement. "Sounds like a plan."
The venue was crowded as you and Nate walked back in. Decorative lights adorned the walls, casting a colorful glow throughout the room and adding to the atmosphere. You quickly found Blair again and she pulled you closer to her.
"Did you guys talk it out?" Blair inquired, her voice barely audible over the music as she gave you a small smile.
You nodded, a sense of relief flooding through you as you glanced at Nate standing beside you. "Yeah, we did. Everything's sorted now."
Blair's smile widened at your response, a hint of satisfaction gleaming in her eyes. "Great! Kati, go get us some drinks," she instructed, turning to her friend with a commanding tone. Kati, always eager to please Blair, nodded and quickly disappeared into the crowd, her figure weaving effortlessly through the crowd.
After a few drinks, you and Blair danced as Lady Gaga played through the speakers. You threw your head back as you moved your body, unaware of the eyes watching you and Blair as you let go of all the worries. With each sway of your hips and toss of your hair, you felt the weight of the world lifting off your shoulders.
You laughed, watching Blair dance so freely. In that moment, as you laughed and danced alongside Blair, you felt a sense of pure joy wash over you. Nothing else mattered but the music, the laughter and the excitement of being with your closest friend after so long.
But of course this was Manhattan, that kind of excitement could only last so long without an interruption. Blair's gaze moved behind you and as you turned, you saw Serena walking through the crowd with a familiar looking man.
"What's Serena doing here?" Blair's bitter voice was heard over the music as she made her way over there. Nate scoffed as he followed her, pulling her arm to stop.
"Are you really gonna kick her out of the party?" Nate looked down at his girlfriend, annoyance evident on his face.
Blair scoffed as she met his gaze with a tinge of hurt. "Did you invite her?"
You stood in between them, confusion clear in your expression. What did you miss? You knew that Blair was mad at Serena, but what the hell did it have to do with Serena? "Guys, what the hell happened?"
Nate and Blair shared a look before she pulled her arm out of Nate's grip. His gaze seemed like pleading and hers seemed nothing short of livid. "What you missed was Nate sleeping with Serena at the Shepherd wedding."
Your heart dropped as you looked back at Nate. And with that, Blair walked away from the two of you, attempting to go find Serena. He did what?
Nate sleeping with Serena? It felt like a betrayal, not just to Blair, but to you as well. How could he do something like that, especially knowing the history between Blair and Serena, and the close bond you all shared?
You scoffed, giving Nate no room to speak. Pushing past Nate and the crowd, desperate to escape the suffocating atmosphere of the party. You needed time to process everything, to figure out where to go from here. But one thing was for sure: things would never be the same again.
As you ran out of the venue, you could hear Nate trailing close behind you.
Ignoring Nate's calls behind you, you quickened your pace, the weight of betrayal heavy on your shoulders. The cold night air hit you as you burst out of the venue, your breaths coming in ragged gasps as you tried to make sense of the chaos inside your mind.
"Nate, just leave me alone," you called out, not bothering to turn back as you continued down the street, your heart pounding in your chest.
But Nate didn't give up, his footsteps echoing behind you as he caught up. "Y/N, please, just let me explain," he pleaded, his voice laced with desperation.
He finally grabbed your arm, making you stop as you whirled around to face him, your eyes flashing with anger and hurt. "Explain what, Nate? How could you do that?" You scoffed before continuing. "You slept with my best friend the same night you told me you loved me. How could you do that? And I'm not even gonna talk about Blair, cause I'm sure you already know."
"I was hurt, Y/N. I-I told you I loved you and you just ignored me, like it's some meaningless word." Nate's voice cracked with emotion as he spoke, his eyes pleading for understanding.
"But I was hurting too. I felt like you didn't care about me the way I cared about you, and I let that cloud my judgment. I made a terrible mistake, one that I regret every single day since it happened."
His words cut through your anger, stirring up a whirlwind of conflicting emotions within you. You wanted to be angry, to lash out at him for betraying so many people with one action. But you also couldn't ignore the pain in his voice, the genuine remorse in his eyes.
You sighed as you looked down at the floor. You pulled your arm out of his grasp, your gaze softening as you looked at him. "I need time, Nate. I don't think we can... we can just go back to how it was now."
Nate's expression fell, disappointment evident in his eyes as he took a step back, nodding in understanding. "I get it," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.
With that, he turned and walked away, leaving you standing alone on the sidewalk, lost in a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. As you watched him disappear into the night, you couldn't help but wonder if forgiveness was possible after such a betrayal.

“What the hell is happening now?!”
Effie held the drunken victor back from hurling a chair towards their only working television. While she was not made an account by the anonymous people that have kidnapped the children, the former escort was still highly upset, like the rest of them were, when all of their voted scores have all been outright denied.
In order to score Tribute zero-zero-one, please make sure to input the serial number first.
Now, you don’t have to manually apply this for District Three is already assigned to unlock the security pass so that everyone can be allowed to vote—
“They’re asking us for a passcode…” Peeta said tiredly, looking at the screen with silent glowering contempt. "It was easier when they would just announce it on television."
"Yeah? Well, I have a feeling they're not exactly making it easy on purpose."
Haymitch spat, backing away from the broadcast of a struggling seventeen-year-old Capitol child, who by any means, did not possess the same level of skill as Careers when it came to using a sundry of knives and spears.
It was pathetic watching the teenager even make an attempt on his part. But what else could the boy do, really?
"...what happens if he doesn't get a score?" Katniss grimly brought up beside Peeta, her knee bouncing in trepidation for the potential consequence if they're unable to rate him on time.
Her sharp, ashen seam-like eyes scanned the countdown needed for all the Districts to give their votes. It ran for 60 seconds at least, but now it's down to 40.
"It won't come to that," Peeta tried to assure her, looping an arm around to pull her close by the shoulder so he could plant a comforting kiss on the side of her forehead. "They all need scores, Katniss. I doubt the people behind this won't give them any—"
"But it's up to us to give them something!"

Unlike its predecessor, the tributes are chosen at random despite their age, sex, and societal status." The voice chuckled over the last line, as if disbelieving any of the kids from the Capitol were beyond poorer than the high middle-class citizens. "…of course, tributes who refuse to participate within the rules of the game will have their shock collars activated. Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the first ever Royale Capitol Games, with it also being the Fourth Quarter Quell from the discontinued series of the Hunger Games." The announcer laughs, unaware of the sheer number of Capitol parents that have fainted from the live announcement. They were giddy for a while at having to recite the dreaded line, along with a sickening twist added by the end. "And may the odds ever grant you their favors."   Pairings; Heavenscoin with a side of Hayffie & Everlark.

[GetToKnowMe(me)]::Start()
Tagger: @hexenjagd // Oh you~ Name: TK! Pronouns: He/They Most Active Muses? -- Mary, both here and in FFXIV -- "URIEL", an OC that I can best describe as 'What if John Carpenter's The Thing was a psychic emotional vampire and was trying to figure out human coexistence on a whim. -- Tsengel Malaguld, my FFXIV main who is a big loving himbo as a facade for a calculating lizardman terminator.
RP PET PEEVES: Oh you aren't ready for this list. Where to begin?
God-Modding is the old adage. When someone can't let anyone give them consequences for their actions. Whether it's saying heinous stuff, assaulting other RPers and then refusing to acknowledge attempts to settle the score, etc. etc. People who refuse to take what they dish out. Most recently this was someone who "avoided all the guards trying to tie her down because she assaulted a man in public because she's really flexible". If it comes down to two people not knowing how to solve a scuffle, please roll. That's wat luck and the dice are for.
People who refuse to engage in what's going on group-wise and then complain that there's nothing to do. This is very particularly targeted to some people outside of the RPC here but I wanted to throttle you. 'I'm not engaged in [Group Activity]', well I apologize but 20 other people were. You are not giving me critique or constructive criticism by saying 'I'm bored.'
Oh, my god, people who just enter a chat to say 'I'm bored.' as though they're expecting people to spoon-feed them with interaction.
Loops back to the god-modding point but "I'm too powerful for you, so I'm gonna no-sell anything you do to express the difference in our power levels." like, dude, get hit, at least give the person you're fighting the pleasure of seeing their blow push you in the dirt a bit. Have a reaction rather than "haha no *punches back with anime*". >// Multiversal RP is fun until the Anime character wants to fight.
"I am strictly into [x] so if you're anything other than something I wanna fuck then I'm going to be extremely hostile to you and casually and vocally espouse how much everything other than [x] is awful and will cite it often as a reason why I refuse to engage in any RP in this public area.' >// Unfortunately, this has happened multiple times, much to the detriment of peoples' safety and comfort in public spaces I've been in. Moderators have refused to step in, and the behavior has been allowed. ://///
"My Character is Vocally Racist." You suck. You chose to pretend like that's a character trait. You're choosing to make every minority who's experienced that shit IRL to see it again in the middle of their feel-good hobby. 'It's realistic' and you're the one choosing to bring that realism into a space for people to enjoy. Costs you zero cents not to make your characters straight up bigots.
That's all I got for now, but I could keep going, I'm sure. Sorry to just splurge all over main; I've had some baaaaad RP drama go down in the last few months in other mediums/RPCs.
LEVEL OF RP EXPERIENCE: Hah. Haha. Been RPing for 16 years about now. Started back in SPORE while coming up with little stories for my creations, and RPing out diplomatic relations with other people, to going to the JoeyRay's Bar forums for StarCraft 2 where I actually picked up proper narrative RP. Then I went to DeviantArt, RP'd in the chatrooms and learned sauciness (way too young, but oh well), and then was brought over to Tumblr by my ex who showed me @axemurderercreighton back in the day. And I've stuck here, through UNDERTALE, through Skype, through Discord, through playing FFXIV. Always back to here as a casual place to RP.
FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT? Angst is the most reliable, but I know I write good smut and it lets me play out fantasies. Fluff is fun, but in moderation. Too much of it and you grow stagnant. Angst brings with it conflict, and conflict drives stories onwards. Smut is the victory lap, and if that also helps serve conflict, then fuck yeah, two-for-one!
PLOTS OR MEMES? Give me a skeleton of a plot an we'll fill in everything in between. I prefer spontaneity to a firm constellation of everything that will happen for years down the line. Improv is the spice of life. Memes facilitate the funniest stuff that's happened in RP, but you wouldn't get there without plotting and having relationships with others. So... cop-out answer, but both.
LONG OR SHORT REPLIES? I err on the long side. But at the barest minimum... - Respond to what your partner has given you to work with (usually matches their length pretty well). - Offer insight into my characrer's thoughts or feelings or give them a general action to help immerse in the setting/scene. - Give my partners something to reply/respond to.
However long that all takes is how long my replies will tend to be.
TIME TO WRITE? Whenever I can. When I'm at work I'll steal Discord replies, when I'm waiting for bad lights I'll type and respond. When I'm in the bathroom -- you get the idea. Discord is my preferred method because I can respond without having to have icons or formatting or what have you. It's easier to just throw random ideas like darts on a board, and I get more clear notifications when someone's responded to me.
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE? For better or for worse, I put a lot of my anxious thoughts and my paranoia into Mary. I put a lot of how she overthinks based on my own ideations, and in a way... all of that is merged with a lot of how my wife acts. Almost any time I write Mary and you feel the love that I put into her actions, it's because I'm basing that on things I've seen and experienced intimately. She always had this role in my mind of 'cold woman who is accidentally adorable' but -- it took seeing someone who I found absolutely adorable to find the life-inspiration and information to properly convey that and bring it to life in a way that was natural and earnest.
.........God that was so much I'm so sorry for splurging. Tagging: @yellowfingcr @urbanumviolentium @bidotheuncanny @theblackwarden @tinyredrose (to surprise some of you whenever you get back, ehehe)
Thanks again to Cat for @ing me. It's been fun!

Send ☠️ for something that will result in a instant unfollow from you
🐶 - People who write FOR me what my character thinks or feels or how they perceive someone or a situation around them. I hate, hate, hate with a passion when someone writes Vahalia being 'intimidated' by someone else or portrays her as anything other than what she is. The fact that anyone pushes my character into that sense of 'feeling' essentially robs me of being able to react how she typically would and I'm then forced to acknowledge that she's feeling something. Especially for someone who should know my character, they'd know that Vahalia isn't someone who is easily intimidated by anyone or anything; if at all. Of course, all the stated above is just an example. In addition to what I just mentioned, I hate it when people lull you into collaborations and stories and they hype you up for things only for them to disappear or just be no-shows for months at a time with no warning. I despise the choice of refusing to communicate with people you're looping into stories and ideas. Bit by bit it wears them down and if it happens again and again, people will start to reach out less and less due to poor experiences. I myself have been one of these people but I've been trying to work myself out of that rut and move on without putting too much stock in the disappointments. Those ideas and stories that just kinda fall through the cracks. Some measures of consistency and dedication are important to me. If people cannot meet me halfway and show a fraction of the same energy into a project, I lose interest pretty quickly and tend to just release myself from people who are proving to have zero investment. I've been told that because of such things like that, I have high expectations. Sure, they might be high expectations but they can't be too high if I still have wonderful friends that write with me and have been doing so for years, or the fact that I have wonderful stories between myself and others to be proud of is telling. I've learned that it's not fair to have high standards or expectations of others who don't hold themselves to that same level of expectation, I just move on now from things and people who no longer serve as a healthy place to be.
☠️ - An insta unfollow is generally things like too much OOC posting to IC blogs. I personally keep my OOC blog separate from my IC one just so I don't clutter my RP stuff. I will typically follow whoever, whenever and I have a habit of giving as well as receiving so I will follow back people who are within the same community or sphere as me. People who post overtly graphic stuff (I have a kiddo that I don't want to see popping in and catching a glimpse of certain content) are ones I might unfollow. Anything that comes off as questionable content such as Lala-lewding, anything having to do with minors, anything that comes off hateful, racist, misogynistic, etc etc. The list goes on. However, another thing I'll always clock out from 100% is people who constantly post OOC drama to their blogs. I'm not here for drama and to spread hate, I'm here to write, meet new people, and just have fun. I've found myself unfollowing a lot of people from Twitter in the FF14 community/fandom because of their hate-trains consistently chugging through my dash.

Not taekookers being insecure again because of some teasing between two friends. If you consider that dating, then I'm definitely dating a lot of my friends without me knowing lmao
Honestly, I like reading your asks cuz I agree with a lot of your takes on things, but it gets borderline annoying seeing taekookers and their insecure asses, either about taennie stuff or jikook.
Like, jungkook is just living his best life right now. His song gained success, and he felt the fandoms' love. That happiness shows in his vlives more often, he's grateful and wants to establish a small side of carelessness when it comes to his actions with fans so he's more confortable showing his //naked// body, bantering with his friend, flirting with army....just having fun overall. I honestly like to see it, but I know he's supportive behind the scenes of his boyfie. Like tae must be working days and nights as we speak, what jungkook can do is show support privately, which im sure he does, and that in no way means not having fun by himself.
If anything, Jikook only prove actually, day after day, that they are out of loop with each other's life. Hanging out sometimes sure, but not keeping up constantly with each other's day to day schedule, which is something you do with instinctively with your partner.
And the pic ? From what I've seen, it could just be a pic of how "bad" jimin looked at that moment, which is why he didn't want to go live with jk.
Just be happy he's happy guys, stop with the overthinking and live laugh love yourself lmao.
Hi @sissaf !
Yeah, I know. I was surprised by the amount of asks in my inbox this morning. And when I actually saw the live... I was really like: This? This is what's worrying you all? But, there's always going to be fans unsure about the whole. Most come here for reassurance, and some come here to.. make a point apparently. I don't mind explaining how I understand things, but I can see how to convinced Tkkrs... it gets tiresome. It's basically creating drama over nothing. The most weird to me is people actually announcing that they're now into Jkk... like okay... bye.. enjoy... see you back in a few when something Tkk happens probably.
I still have about twenty asks in my inbox now, and I'm expecting Jkkrs to join in at some point as well 😂. Yesterday it was Tannie... today it's Jkk apparently.

Thai QL Favorites Tag Game
Tagged by both @mineonmain and @dribs-and-drabbles Thank you!
Credit: this game was created by @thatgirl4815 as Thai BL Favorites Tag Game.
Favorite Thai QL: Bad Buddy is still tops, although it is starting to be that there are stronger and stronger ones that maybe at some point it will be like choosing from favorite children haha. BBS is a great relational story line, but I am excited about the more plotty ones happening, especially with fantasy or sci-fi plots and have high hopes others will continue to rot my brain. (looking at you Be My Favorite)
Favorite Pairing: I really feel like this is gonna get boring if I keep talking about Pat and Pran so I'm gonna also say Ink/Pa - I love their dynamic, I was so excited they would be a ship. I also am pretty certain Pisaeng and Kawi will be on this list - for reasons you can find in my screaming all over my blog right now, but since it isn't over yet I guess only time will tell. I would also say Akk and Theo. I wouldn't equally say Cher and Gun, but Force and Book do what they do well. Their shows are very unserious, but we all need some of that in our lives and they are the best at giving it.
Most underrated actor: Until now, I would have definitely said Gawin Caskey. He was never given a lead role and more than anything was doing OSTs (although his voice is beautiful so that's a great way to use him, but shouldn't be the only way). Last year when he was in both Not Me and Enchante at the same time it was like "Why the hell hasn't he gotten a lead?" Seems clear now that he maybe hadn't been the most comfortable with all that being a lead entails, but he is out there doing it now and my boy is so good. I'm so happy for him. I hope this means he'll get more opportunities later.
Favorite Character: It isn't going to be original, but yeah, it's Pat and followed oh so closely by Pran. They're great characters brought to life by great actors. Pran feels a little closer to my own tendencies and so perhaps that is why I get all heart eyes for Pat too. He's just so heart on his sleeve when he stops being oblivious and you gotta love someone who loves openly, honestly without holding back.
Favorite Side Character: This one is tough because I love a ton of side characters, but surprisingly Wai keeps popping into my head. I think Wai clearly is a complicated character, but he does have a nice growth arc, let's go of his stubborn pride, which he seems pretty attached to, and comes around to caring about the engineering guys at the end. I'm sure that it's Jimmy that really sells it, but I have always had positive feels for Wai despite him pissing me off during the series lol. Obviously I love Ink and Pa, and yes, Korn. Pearmai is amazing in Be My Favorite and I love every scene she is in. Max too. I love Max so much, he could never get enough screen time. I've gotta stop or I'll just keep listing them.
Favorite scene in a QL: Ok, this is serious spoilers for Triage so if you don't want to read any, then don't keep going - but honestly I *loved* that the vision Tin had of Tol earlier in the series was actually Tol flipped into the loop. It was such a fun time loop variation and I really enjoy fun time travel paradoxes and scenes where you understand it better from a different angle. Like I say below, underrated.
Favorite line in a QL: This is impossible, but what came to mind first was the scene is ep 11 part 4 of BBS where Pat and Pran have an exchange but Pat's lines are: "Thank you. For trying to make a silly guy like me happy...You never leave me. You fight alongside me. That makes me feel very happy." Again, Pat just telling how he feels in the moment and I love that so very much. And Pran barely says anything with words, but Nanon is king of the sparkly eyes and he says it all in return.
Most Anticipated QL (& why): Only Friends. I love all the actors. It's gonna be a hot mess of drama and all of them in the roles clearly are going to have fun doing it. And Cherry Magic because I want to see how they adapt it and after seeing Tay and New non-DBK roles I think they'll be great in it.
Healthiest relationship in a QL: Pat and Pran are the great communicators who know each other enough to give and take when it's needed and isn't that what we all hope to be able to do?
Most toxic relationship in a QL: I...feel like I have to plead the fifth on this. the ship I would put here is very popular and I think their whole dynamic is problematic and can't really even think about them without feeling annoyed so yeah, I have one that stands out over the others for me but I'll leave it at that. there's definitely plenty though. the healthy relationships are not always the majority.
Guilty pleasure series: Hmm, probably Together with Me. There was so many problems with that show and the plot was terrible in many ways, but Max and Tul were so convincing as the best friends who turned lovers and couldn't get out of their own way. I loved them in that. I also mostly liked Big Dragon which is another problematic start but worked for me. My rule apparently is if you are gonna hook up and be messed up, you both gotta be equally under influences.
Most underrated series: Well, this could change depending on how Be My Favorite ends and is finally received (I think it might not get the noise it deserves, it doesn't seem like it is at this point) but Triage is definitely what I'd say is most underrated one that has finished. It's plot is fun and the holes are lamp shaded and the actors obviously have great chemistry and the theme is that trying matters and I need those kinds of messages in my life, pretty much all the time.
I'm not sure who has been tagged before but how about @galauvant @lurkingteapot @dimplesandfierceeyes @sunshinedobi @kornswasianguyswag @dragonsareawesome123 @dontbesoevil
but no pressure, only if you want to :)

"Looks like I was right, those are feds."
You pointed to the two people walking into the station in suits, "we're going to be here for a while, aren't we?"
You nodded, "sorry Juicy, it's probably going to be a few hours at least."
Two hours later, Unser came out, "the feds have been in with ATF all this time, no news yet."
Everyone had started to leave, Jax turning to Kip, "Sack, stay with my mum and y/n."
He nodded, "thanks bro."
Jax looped his arm around your body and pulled you into a hug, you placed a hand on his cheek and leaned in to kiss him. "I'll head back to the Clubhouse with Gem then go to your place and keep packing, I love you."
He smiled, "I love you too. Be safe and call me if you see anything strange."
The scene inside the station was pathetic, Stahl was sitting on one of the chairs with her head in her hands. Unser invited her into one of the private rooms to talk, he told her about what happened to Gemma, Stahl surprisingly reacted with sympathy.
"Ethan Zobelle is an FBI infomat, for three years now. He can tie the dirty deads of his organisation to the rich and mighty, judges, clergymen, a few senators, as well as all the white power shot callers. He's a goldmine, he keeps going while the feds fatten their case."
Unser shook his head, "no wonder this guy struts around like he's untouchable."
Stahl put a hand on his chest, "and the wheels of justice keep turning, don't they."
Unser told them what was going on, they didn't have enough to hold Weston and you were right about Zobelle, he couldn't be touched because he was working with the feds.
"Get to Otto, have him send word up the ranks, get us protected inside again and stops any backlash when we drop Weston." Jax nodded and slapped Clay on the shoulder, getting up to head to the prison.
"Hey, Weston's mine."
Tig smiled, "I know. Jax." He pointed to Zobelle coming out of the station, they watched as he turned down police protection and heard The Calaveras MC pull up. Jax left after staring the man down, riding away just as Clay started to talk to the others.
"Holy shit, talk about protecting their investment." They followed the car and the bikes through Charming. They were all sitting outside the cigar shop, waiting for Zobelle to come out. Jax drove up, having given the word to Otto.
"Is Weston out?"
Unser nodded, "I sent one of my men with him, he's at Sanwa CPS seeing his kids."
Jax nodded, "I'll catch him family services."
Opie tapped Jax on the back, "let's go brother." Sam followed and Chibs chimed in, "and me." The four of them left, leaving Clay and the others to deal with Zobelle.
Salazar crossed the street, being stopped by the cops in the middle of the road. They frisked him and Clay handed his gun to Tig, the two meeting between two patrol cars.
"I don't know what the drama's all about ese, I'm just buying a few cigars."
Clay shook his head, "we've got no beef with The Calaveras and our truce with the Mayans means you're being disrespectful by helping this Nazi asshole out. You need to buy cigars some place else."
Salazar grinned, "we're just picking up a friend, we won't be here long."
Clay got closer, "your friend hurt my Club, my town and my family, you've got no idea who you crawled into bed with."
Salazar looked towards the other Sons, "send your crew home Clay, let me do what I've got to do or we can turn Mainstreet into el Día de los Muertos."
He walked away, returning to his men, "why didn't you tell him Zobelle's a rat?"
Clay took another puff, "because he'd kill him and that's mine." They left soon after and while Salazar insisted they leave, Zobelle was unwilling to go without his daughter.
****
Jax, Opie, Sam and Chibs were waiting outside the CPS building for Weston, to their upset, he came out with one of his children before heading off to the tattoo parlour on the outer edge of charming.
"So they gave Weston a supervised visit with his kid, one of Unser's cops is watching. Little Cliffy couldn't go, he's on a psych eval."
Jax shook his head, "go figure."
Sam and Opie returned, having left the van to see what was going on inside the store. "Weston, his kid, two inkers, two customers and the cop."
Jax nodded, "is Freddy a friend?"
Opie's response was quick, "I think so, I'll call, get Weston away from his kid."
The call didn't last long, then they were going inside. Weston was shocked when he saw them, putting a protective hand on his little boy, "it's ok Dooky." Chibs put the shotgun behind his back and Jax tilted his head in bearly contained rage.
"Get rid of him." The conversation was quick, Jax felt a pang of sadness for the little boy, he could only imagine what you would say.
"You're doing him a service Jackson, no child chooses hate. He will be happier without his father."
"He never sees this." Jax nodded and Weston sat down, he waited until Weston met his eye to fire the silenced gun.
Bap bap bap bap bap bap
You were right, killing a man when you had to was as easy as breathing.
They returned to a warm welcome, Clay hugging Jax hard followed by a round of drinks. "Where's my mum?"
Jax was looking around for her face in the crowd, "her and y/n are out getting supplies, Sack's with them."
****
You helped Gemma out to the car, packing the bags as she looked over the fresh food, then something caught her eye. You stopped Gemma in her tracks, putting a hand up, "don't be stupid Gem, the ATF is all over them. What do you think will happen to you if you do anything to her."
It didn't matter, she must have seen red because she was pushing was aside and walking up to the blonde. You ran after her, but mercifully, Hale appeared out of nowhere, meeting your eye and doing his best to stop the situation.
"I know you turned down our help but you need to leave the area now for your own safety."
Polly gave a nasty smile and turned her head a fraction to you and Gemma, speaking out enough for you to hear, "it's fine, deputy, my daddy and I will be leaving soon."
The look on her face and the tone of her voice sent you off, stomping up to her in hopes that Gemma would have a moment to collect herself, "listen here, you little gender traitor. I don't give two shits what Gemma does to you, as far as I'm concerned, you deserve a bullet between your eyes but I won't have Gemma going to prison on your behalf so I'd listen to the good deputy or I'll be the one to open you from navel to nose."
Something about your approach must have frightened her because she pointed her softening gaze at Hale, "she just.."
Hale cut her off, "you started it miss, it's time for you to go."
Hale waited until she got into her car and you gently pushed Gemma into yours, "we're going home now, this is over Gem, don't let her ruin more of your life. If whatever you're planning goes sideways, ATF will place the blame on you."
You drove off and she got progressively madder as you got to the Clubhouse, when you pulled into the lot, she started, "my husband, my son and their brothers are out risking thier lives for me, I needed to do that."
You put a hand on her shoulder, "no you didn't. I know it feels like you do but killing her isn't going to undo what was done to you. Plus, wouldn't you rather she die in front of her dear old dad? None of them are rapists Gemma but I'm sure some of them can think of a pretty fucked up send off. She deserved to go just as frightened as you were."
A look of resolve came over her face, "you're right, I guess I just wanted to feel like I did something. Take my grandson home, I love you y/n."
You smiled, "you did do something Gem, you kept everyone together when shit was falling apart, that's far more pride worthy then taking out that poor excuse for a human."
****
Edmond Hayes waited for Stahl to show up, hiding a gun in the vent. She turned up soon after, trying to pull the same nonsense as always, "you're going to get me and my da killed."
She shook her head, "I'm your only chance now Edmond, you need to listen to me."
He wasn't having it, striking her and trying to run. He ran into the room with the gun and pulled it out, poking his head out of the doorway to see where she was, he didn't see her and he made his way to the door.
"Drop the gun and turn around." He didn't listen, raising the gun to fire. Stahl did what she had to.
****
Polly looked around at the scene, her boyfriend was dead, "turn around." It was Stahl, she took her gun and with a deep breath, faced the woman.
Bang
Stahl shot her once in the chest, killing her instantly, then there was a noise at the door, Cameron Hayes had come for his son. Stahl put herself together, acting upset and ran to open the door.
"Cameron you can't go in there, please." He pushed past her and found Edmond on the floor, dead, raising his gun to Stahl, she met him with her own. "It was the Sons, I saw them leave on their bikes before I got here." He slammed his hand into the table.
"Shit."
****
Zobelle was done waiting, he asked some of Salazar's men to stay in case his daughter showed up and left, being met but the Sons at the door. Even in the spring sun, the air felt cold as the bikes turned over. At the same time, the guys were pulling out of T-M, ready to meet the other Sons along the road.
They followed the car up the highway, when the moment arose, the van stopped and some of the men got out to fire a hailstorm of bullets at the car while Salazar fled.
Zobelle got out, running to the nearest gas station, it was the perfect cover, there was no way the Sons would be able to do anything with all the school children around.
****
"That should be the last of it Kip, he's not taking any furniture so after these boxes Jax will be all packed."
You phoned Jax, "hey, I didn't want to bother you with this, nothing's wrong."
You could still hear his worry over the phone, "what's going on?" Kip was in the bathroom collecting Abel's diapers.
"It's Gemma, I think she needs a bit of reassurance before she does something stupid. I managed to cool her down but if those scumbags stay in town much longer, she's going to go… fuck."
"Y/n, y/n." Hayes hung up the phone, the only thing you could see was the gun in your face. He shoved you down onto the dining chair and pointed the gun at Half Sack.
"What do you want?" He didn't speak, "whatever you think we did, it wasn't us."
He wasn't listening, "the Sons killed my Eddy, I think killing an old lady might even the score."
Half Sack, stepped forward and Hayes raised the gun, "don't get brave boyo." He sat when given the direction and Hayes made his way over to the now crying Abel.
"Don't fucking touch my child."
He smiled softly and picked up a knife, bringing it close to Abel, "a son for a son." Kip moved quickly, getting the blade buried into his abdomen. He gasped but hit the ground alive.
Hayes picked up Abel, rocking him until he stopped crying, "I know things must be hard for you now but please let me help him." He pointed the knife at Kip, signalling for you to help. You took a teatowel off the bench and pressed it to the wound, Half Sack letting out a pained moan, "it's not that bad, I need you to keep pressure on this, ok?" He nodded and you replaced your hands with his and you stood up.
"Can you put Abel down, please? Hurting him won't bring your little boy back." He didn't care what you said, hitting you over the head with the gun and walking out with Abel. You weren't stunned long enough for him to leave, crouching down, pulling out your gun and firing at him.
Expect the blow to the head gave you double vision and the shot went wide, grazing his side instead of ending up in his spine. He turned and fired at you, the bullet bouncing off the door frame before you felt a stinging heat in your ribs.
The air was knocked out of you and by the time you could breathe again, he was gone. There was no way you could after him, and you put your hope in Jax coming back with enough time to cut him off.
"You still with me Kip?" He groaned behind you but you had another problem, the pressure in your chest was making it hard to breathe. You could feel the bullet between your ribs so it hadn't done much damage, the pain only meant one thing, a tension pneumothorax.
Just as you dragged yourself back to the kitchen with the first aid kit, Jax and Chibs arrived, "y/n, Darlin."
His heart stopped when he saw you, "I'm fine Teller. Hayes got Abel, by the boat keys in his pocket he's going to the docks. I winged him, if you go now, you might catch up."
It took him a few seconds but he left, yelling at Chibs to stay behind. "How much of those medical textbooks I gave you have you read?" He was kneeling by Half Sack trying to stop the bleeding.
"Enough, what do you need." You had put all the tools out on the table and pulled a bottle of iodine from the bag, pouring it over your ribs and the medical equipment.
"I need you to walk me through how you'd place a chest tube for someone bleeding into their chest." He froze, "now Chibs, I'm going to die if you don't start talking."
XXXXXXXXXX
It blurred out of his mouth so fast you couldn't keep up but you already knew what to do, biting into a towel, you took the scalpel and sliced your side, cutting through the layers of your chest wall until there was a gush of blood. The relief was immediate when you shoved the tube into the cut, sliding down onto the floor as the pressure eased.
XXXXXXXXXXX
"You gonna pass out on me Telford?"
He grunted, "that was hardcore." Kip was fading in and out of consciousness, you could hear the sirens in the distance, "I think that's the ambulance now, I called them when I went to get the first aid kit."
He swallowed and looked from you to Kip, "tell me Jax will get there in time."
He didn't meet your eyes, "Jax will get there in time."
****
Jax was speeding so fast that if he came off now, he would die, but he didn't care, he had to get to his son. He had called the others as he was leaving and they met him on the highway, the sound of their bikes filling the air.
He stopped when Opie went through the barbed wire, his hands shaking with fear and rage. He could see Hayes's car becoming more and more unstable on the road before there was the horrible noise of metal meeting metal.
Hayes had crashed into a guardrail at the dock, as he stumbled out, he had the baby carrier in his hand. Jax's hands were shaking too much to get off a good shot so he settled for running full speed after Hayes but just as he gained ground, Hayes was gone.
Before the utter hopelessness set in, he heard Sam yell, "JAX, JAX." When he turned around, Sam was holding your son, having taken him out of the car unharmed, Hayes must have taken him out of the car seat and run off with it in hopes of distracting them.
After the relief hit him like a train, a wave of realisation punched him in the face. When he left you, you were bleeding. He raced home, only to be greeted by Chibs covered in blood, shaken up and looking lost. The cops were there, and Hale was taping off the house. Jax was holding onto Abel, the fear still present, he felt like if he ever put him down again, he would be taken again.
"What happened?"
Chibs shook his head, "they're both on their way to the hospital. Y/n was awake and talking when they left but Half Sack wasn't looking good. It was rough Jacky Boy, like the middle of a war zone rough. Your old lady's one strong woman."
Hale approached Jax, "do you know what happened?"
Jax was in shock, "can we talk about this later?"
Hale nodded, "of course, I'm sure you want to be spending your time at the hospital."
"I can go inside? I need to pack a few things for Abel before I leave."
Hale looked around and nodded, "yeah, I'll have to walk you through. Just a fair warning Jax, it's a mess."
Jax took a deep breath and stepped under the crime scene tape, what met him first was the smell of wet iron. There was blood everywhere, as he walked to the bathroom, he could see streaks of red on the wall, clearly made by your smaller hands. He looked down at the carpet, a long line of blood was down the hallway and back.
He shoved diapers into the bag and left, unable to stomach the sight much longer. When he left the house, Sam put a warm hand on his shoulder, "I'll drive you to the hospital, she's going to be fine Jax, trust me."
Jax's leg bounced all the way there, he would turn to look at Abel in the backseat every few minutes. "Can you calm the fuck down, if she was awake when they left, it's not that bad." The words didn't even register.
Jax slowed down as they pulled up to St Thomas, feeling a terrible sense of fear that made him want to crawl under his bed like a child. He ran inside, Sam following closely with Abel in his arms.
He went up to the front desk and waited for someone to talk to him, he was standing there numb when a nurse gestured for him to sit down. "You girlfriend is in surgery, it's looking good and she should be out in about half an hour. Your friend, on the other hand, is touch and go, he's lost a lot of blood and the knife knicked his liver. We'll keep you updated, in the meantime, I can take you to a quiet waiting room so you can wait for your partner."
Jax waited, pacing back and forth, the others arrived with Gemma, Ima and Lyla in tow soon after he did, waiting with him. He went from holding Abel and glaring at anyone who got too close to handing him to Sam and going outside to smoke.
Around forty minutes after they arrived, the nurse came to get him, "Dr l/n is resting now, you can come and sit with her. Everything went well and other than a few new scars she'll be fine. However, she needs to rest, there was some blood loss so she's going to feel weak for a little while."
She took a deep breath, "Mr Epps is still in surgery and will likely need a long hospital stay, but we will keep you updated." Jax followed the nurse into the room, other than the IV in your arm and the oxygen mask on your face, he would have thought you were sleeping.
He pulled up a chair, sat down, grabbed you hand and waited for you to wake up while Sam called all your friends.
"Billy's one of her emergency contacts so he already knows, Derek will be here soon and Billy's flying in from New York now. She's going to be fine Jax, this isn't even in the top ten worst things she's been through."
****
"When is she going to wake up?"
Sam shook his head, "dude, it's been an hour. You heard the nurse, she needs rest." Gemma had taken Abel home under an armed escort, Hale had yet to stop by, which Jax was grateful for.
"I need coffee, are you good for me to leave?"
Jax nodded, "I'll get you one too, you look like you need it." While he waited for Sam, Derek showed up.
"You doing ok?"
Jax shrugged and Derek sat down next to him, "she's going to be fine, this is nothing."
Jax nodded softly, "people keep telling me that."
"I know how you're feeling."
Jax raised his eyebrows, "really, how could you know that?"
Derek took a deep breath, "I met my wife Penelope in Afghanistan, she was a civilian technical analyst. Walking into that tent that day was like nothing else I've ever experienced, it was like the whole world stopped spinning." Jax knew what he was talking about.
"Of course, y/n knew, she smiled and said it looked like I had been bewitched. Every moment with her was a breath of fresh air, no matter what happened outside the wire, if I could see her face, life was good." Derek continued.
"I asked her out when I left the Marines, and of course she said yes. Then she started working for Anvil, but she's kind and soft and started to use our servers to help people solve their lost ones cold cases and she was shot by a perp. My whole world ended when I got the call."
"I prayed for the first time in decades, but Penelope woke up and we're fine. Trust me when I say this, y/n is the toughest motherfucker I've ever met, it's going to take a lot more than a graze to the ribs to take her down."
Jax took a deep breath, "I can't lose her, she's my everything."
Derek smiled and put a hand on his shoulder, "she's your God given solace."
Jax had never had his feelings be put into better words.
****
"Ow, fuck." Jax lifted his head, there had been a parade of people in and out for the last two hours, he was tired and wanted nothing more than to hear your voice.
He put his hand on yours as you went to pull the mask off your face, his hand moved to your shoulder and pressed firmly as you gained awareness and went to sit up.
"Abel?"
The look of terror on your face made his chest hurt, "is home safe with mum."
He saw you visibly relax, "Kip?"
Jax took a deep breath, "got out of surgery around an hour ago, he's lost part of his liver so he's going to be here a while."
You waved your hand over to the cup of water on the side table and Jax picked it up, holding it while you drank from the straw. "I really need to brush my teeth. When I can get out of here?"
Jax was taken aback, "what?"
You rolled your eyes, "when can I get out of here?"
He shook his head, "I'll go get the nurse."
He returned seconds later with a man in scrubs, "when can I leave? I'll AMA if I have to"
The nurse shook his head, "the earliest? Three days."
You shook your head, "two max."
He shrugged, "looking at your medical records, I can see a long list of AMAs so I'll take it. Can I get you something to eat?"
You nodded, "pudding would be nice please, it's the only edible thing in this place."
He came back soon after with the pudding, "thank you."
Jax watched your every move, "I'm sorry."
You shook your head, "why are you apologising? I'm fine, Abel's fine and Kip's going to pull through. All's well that ends well."
Jax was sure he couldn't get more surprised, "how are you so calm about this?"
You shrugged, "because I've been shot, blown up, burnt, drowned, tortured and beaten a thousand times before, I'm in an American hospital with great health insurance, this is nothing."
Jax chuckled, "holy shit woman, you're something else."
You nodded and leaned over to kiss him on the cheek, "do you want me to get Gemma to bring Abel?"
You shook your head, "eww, no, hospital germs. He's only eight months old, he can't fight off what's floating around these halls. We're all more likely to die for a hospital-related infection than this shit."
Jax laughed, "you're sure you're ok?"
You nodded, "fine, what do you want me to say to the cops?"
*****
Hale and Stahl came into your room once you were totally awake, "we need to speak to you alone."
You shook your head, "if my family isn't here my lawyer will need to be."
Hale turned to Stahl, "she's just been shot and almost lost her child, I don't see the harm in letting someone stay with her."
Stahl shrugged, "fine, but no one affiliated with the Club."
You smiled, "Jackson, beloved, can you go Billy please?" Billy had only arrived half an hour before and had only stopped in for a few seconds before following your request to start looking for Hayes.
Jax shuttered, poor Stahl had no idea what was about to hit her. Jax got up and came back with Billy a minute later, he still looked perfect despite the stress he was under.
"Thank you Jax, we'll call you back in once she's given her statement."
Billy baulked, "it's not really your choice who sits in this room."
His face became hard, "unless your insinuating that Jax is abusing my best friend and that's why she can't be honest."
The air turned cold, and Stahl felt a cold chill up her spine, "not at all sir, we just need to make sure no one can call her statement into question."
Billy sat down in Jax's chair, his eyes landing on Stahl, "what do you remember?"
You glared at her, "I don't think you remember the last time we had a conversation more than two minutes long, but I refuse to talk to you without my lawyer, I'll give my statement to Hale, you can sit in the corner if you must be present."
She sulked away and Hale sat on the other side of the bed, "start for the beginning."
"Kip and I were packing the last of Jax's stuff so he could move in with me. A man with a thick Irish accent entered the home talking about the Sons killing his kid, we went to kill me but Abel distracted him. In trying to protect Abel and me, Kip was stabbed, I went to take Abel from this man and he struck me with his gun." You tilted your head to show to small bruise on your temple.
"I had terrible double vision so when I went to shoot him in hopes of disabling him to save my child, the shot missed and went through his side. He turned around and fired, the bullet grazed the door frame, fragmented and a shard entered my rib cage." You reached over and took another drink.
"It became clear to me with my combat experience that I was at risk of developing a punctured lung so prepared to place a temporary chest tube to alleviate the pressure, I call the ambulance for Kip and me and got ready to do what I need to do." Hale didn't open his mouth and Billy was staring so nastily at Stahl that she wouldn't dare speak.
"I didn't call the cops for fear they would try to force a statement by using withholding care which has happened many times to others before. Just as I was getting ready, Jax and Philip came in, having heard the start of the altercation over the phone. I told them what had happened and that I saw a boat key on the man's hip and they left." Billy was recording the whole time so he could make sure everyone's statements lined up.
"Jax left, I instructed Philip to help Kip and I placed the chest tube in my chest. After that my memory gets spotty, I imagine from blood loss and shock, but I remember telling the paramedics my blood type and the last time I ate. Before you ask, the gun is mine and is registered."
Hale spoke for the first time, "what exactly did he say to you."
You rubbed your face, "the Sons killed my Eddie, then, maybe killing an old lady will even the score, when Kip went to help he said don't get brave boyo and then the last thing he said was a son for a son."
Stahl shifted in her chair, "I don't know who that man was or what he was doing in Jax's house but whoever did kill his son was almost responsible for two deaths and the kidnapping of my child. Let's hope I never find out who because I will spend the rest of my life making sure they rot behind bars."
You knew it was Stahl, you could tell by the way she was acting, "is that all David?"
He nodded, "thank you, we'll leave you to rest."
They left and Billy snarled, "what a bitch."
You slapped his chest, "you know how I feel about that word William."
He pressed his eyes closed, "I know, sorry. I'll go download the guys so they keep the story straight."
"Thank you."
Billy left and Jax came back in soon after, "how did it go?"
You shrugged, "Hale bought it, but Stahl might want to watch out for tall building, I've never seen Billy hate someone so fast."
Jax laughed, "your friends are really scary."
"I know right, you should see Aden in action, he makes Happy look like Santa."
Jax shuddered, "I don't think I want to."
"Can you help me up, please. I really need to pee."
Jax laughed and offered his hand "sure Darlin, let me get the nurse first."

i Miss DoTENBori
i really do. i know it's gotten cleaned up a lot from when i first got to Osaka in 2004, it's grimy charm brushed and burnished off, but it still had that undertone of scuzziness that said it could all come back if the city took the day off upkeep.
Also, i needed a TEN for the title. Sue me.
youtube
We talked about this one the Friday before last, and i still like it for it's frenetic crufting. Maybe not the most polished version of the theme that i've played, but it's got a lot of heart to it.
youtube
The precursor to Rescuing the Monster's Child that we reviewed last month. It's mostly a gallery to showcase that bigass monster, but at least some work got put in that department, which is more than you can say for most galleries. The monster itself is, well, i mean, it doesn't do much; i think at this point in LBP, folx were still working out how to get large contraptions to reliably stand up and manage limited movement. It's still impressive, and cute in its own way, and i could appreciate it. i'm pretty sure there was an intended flow to this level that i completely fucked up by going further back in layer than what would have been possible in LBP1. Ope.
youtube
This is an earlier level by the kid who did Hello Autumn! a few entries up, and it's definitely the weaker of the two in my books. It's got swimming, and it's quite rare that i find LBP swimming to be all that enjoyable as a traversal mechanic. The cameras tend to be overly pulled back, and it just feels slow moving all-around. Like Hello Autumn, it's overburdened wiv prizes, so that was going to make it a hard sell wiv me as well. It still has that charm of a level the creator really enjoyed making, tho'; and i can enjoy it on that level at least. Some creators can really bring that feeling to the front in their work.
youtube
It will always feel a little wild to me to think LBP generates its own intracommunity drama. i mean, on one level, any group of people larger than two members is going to pick up some drama over its lifespan, but it's still, like... it's LittleBigPlanet. But there was a contest, and our own wonderful chronos453 won it, and some folx got really cheesed off. chronos showed me a few of the comments from the time (i was blissfully ignorant of it, as i usually am until years after the fact), and this level here got put forward by a number of them as the level that really should have won. So, thought i, let's have a look. It's not bad. Like, i love the look of it. Well executed sticker panel visual presentation can be very slick looking. Usually when, as we see here, it's the exclusive or at least primary element in play (another great example is in chrono's Demo series, or the menus in his Tower Defense level. Gods and fish, those menus are actual fire). The problems creep in in the game itself. It's exceptionally ok. Like, i think it'd work really well as an early mobile game (that is not a dig, mobile games got shittier and shittier the more companies realized they could be turned into money engines that looked like games, as opposed to games that might happen to generate money, if you ask me). You've got a keep ship moving until you take enough damage and die gameplay loop that is, at least, easy to get into. i found it a little too simple to engage my interest more than a few tries, and it really wasn't something i would find myself going back to wivout need. And it's a shame, because you can tell a lot of work went into putting it together. i have no doubt that Gilinator was quite serious about the project, and put in the hours; but this is a good level, not a winning level.
youtube
Here's the winning level. Honestly, despite one significant flaw, it's one of the best, if not the best survival challenges i've played in 15years of LittleBigPlanet. Elegant, stylish presentation. Gameplay that requires the player to be active and paying attention throughout. Quick to get into, and quick to restart when you've messed up (a point crhonos mentioned being a particular focus in his design of the level). Like, people complained that that was too much of an homage, and not original enough; and i would invite them to go back to the survival challenge in the Metal Gear dlc pack and tell me if this is not an improvement on that in every department. You could argue, and fairly, if this should have been first place; there's always room for that kind of conversation. You cannot argue in good faith that this isn't a top-notch level. However, i did mention a significant flaw. It is not in anything that the level does wrong, or a failing on the part of chronos as a creator. It's the simple fact that, maybe not for everyone but at least for me, using the Paintinator really starts to hurt after a while. i wonder about the susceptibility of people to RSIs. Like, it can't be a 100% thing, or else they'd be more well designed for. There are millions of folx working cash registers that i imagine come home fine after work, but when i was a kid my friend up the block's mum wound up needing multiple surgeries to try and fix up her fucked up wrist after a couple years of "help make the ends meet" work at JC Penny's. i bring it up because, like, Mm must have playtested the Paintinator. Even if it was a dlc and not, like, the main game, they would have had a team working on it. And then QA after. Did no one say "hey, ummm... my wrist kinda felt like it was on fire after the Metal Gear Rex fight"? And maybe they didn't, or maybe it was just one or two folx who complained, and that was deemed an acceptable risk by legal. Maybe i'm just one of the lucky ones i kind of hate that.
youtube
This level was... it was definitely a lot. Not, necessarily a bad a lot, just a lot. i really enjoyed the extremely "this is not a real place, but we'll treat it like a real place" cartoon environment vibe; like it manages to pull that off pretty well. i like that there were a couple of spots where you've got mechanical movement and interactions mixed in wiv behind-the-scenes logic, i'll always have a soft spot for those. The end feels like it could have used a little bit more wrap up, and i will almost always prefer a scoreboard to an adventure board, but that was all ok. But... for all that is good and holy, why did the creator put that arm-y enemy where it was, and why was it set up how it was? Like, that bit just kills any momentum the level has. It's such a pain in the arse to get over the arm, because it's kinda-sorta tracking you, and then the bounce pad puts you onto a wall jump that, if you're not careful, will throw you right back into the spikes on the arm. i was not a fan of that bit, i can tell you what.
youtube
Once again i have gotten to my Halloween content well after Halloween. It one of the dangers of doing things in advance. You'll record a bunch, and then only later when you're actually setting up the editing and uploads do you realize you've already set for videos all the way up to, like, a week after some upcoming event. This one was a fun little one. Great presentation, very charming, smooth gameplay. i don't know if it's strong enough to make me want to come back to, but definitely glad i ran into it this year.
youtube
Talked about this a little bit back, but it's still really good.
youtube
What do you even say about Ramp? The first. The best. Picked up Level of the Day yesterday (i am half convinced because i, in a roundabout way, reminded StevenI that it existed). Ramp is an honest hoot, and i found myself just laughing in delight. Thought, how haven't i archived this one yet? Why wasn't it the first LBsA episode? i mean, i know the reason it wasn't the first is i'd wanted that slot to go to chronos, but Ramp should have been number two by all rights.
youtube
i think First was EightWonder-'s first published in the actual release? 'cause Ramp was first-first. Still, this one's a great example of early-early LBP1 platforming, and i had a real good time wiv it. It's a little confusing in its pathing at times, and it's definitely super-kludgy, but it has such a "having a good time" vibe to it that it's hard not to love it. i appreciate it when folx get all srs biz in their creations (i don't necessarily mean that the tone is serious, just that they've clearly taken creation seriously), but i do love it when you see these levels that are, like, let's just have fun and throw everything at the wall and see what we end up wiv. As long as the result is sufficiently level as to be playable, it's always at least a little bit of a good time.
----------------------------------------------------------------
So that's the that for this set. Pretty good spread all in all, no real clunkers. i'm sorry for being late, again, but thing's have been life-shaped. Dealing wiv a lot of little health stuff. Mostly headaches and a lot of exhaustion. Nothing that has me, like, "maybe i should go to a clinic" kind of thing, but it's really got me worn down.
A quick reminder that @soupum is running a LBP stream for Palestine at twitch.tv/soupum . Drop on by and give him some love!

Moulin Rouge Discotrain AU (part twenty four)
Summary: (Post-game canon) The Conductor and DJ Grooves agree to finally work on a movie together. They come up with 'Moulin Rouge', a musical drama filled with romance. Over time the two directors grow closer and discover that maybe they don't hate each other as much.

Warnings: Conductor's repressed trauma about his wife's death
Author's notes: I feel bad for putting Conductor through this. But it had to happen. But I also bring more of Conductor's theatre club so maybe you guys can forgive me for doing this to him? Plus, you get to see more of his love with his wife when they were younger. That's good, right?
Conductor bolted the door shut to his room on the Owl Express before running over to his bed.
He crouched down, pulling out his projector and screen from under the bed, taking a few minutes to set them up before slotting the tape in.
Tumblr media
"Conductor! Where are you?" Badge asked loudly, the camera shaking where the cat was running down a hall with it in hand.
"We're in here!" Emily shouted.
Badge turned off into a room where the other three of them were.
Emily stared intensely at her laptop before turning back to the sewing in her lap.
A younger Conductor flipped through a script under a tent made of a few chairs and a blanket.
And there, beside him, was Scarlett, scanning the script along with him.
Tumblr media
Conductor drew a shaky breath, pausing the tape reel.
The phone in the room buzzed and he reluctantly answered it.
"Yes?"
"It's Empress. Grooves says you're hiding somewhere on the train."
Conductor put the phone back on its stand, sitting back down and playing the tape further.
Tumblr media
"I'm so excited to do Phantom this year!" Badge said, sitting down to make a triangle between the four of them.
The camera subtly tilted over to Conductor and Scarlett.
Scarlett brushed a wing through the feathers at the side of Conductor's face and he leaned into the touch.
"You two will be great as Phantom and Christine," Emily added. Conductor jumped, feathers ruffling as he pulled away from Scarlett's touch.
"Peck off," Conductor grouched.
The camera swung to look at Emily.
The cat had a needle sticking out the side of her mouth, staring scrutinously at her stitching.
"Why did I ever let you convince me to make you a coat?" Emily questioned, slightly muffled around the needle. "You better wear this all the time."
"He will. He always freezes," Scarlett teased, the camera moving back to face her and Conductor.
"Shut up," Conductor chuckled, burying his face in her neck.
Tumblr media
Conductor sniffed as he paused it, his emotions threatening to overwhelm him.
He gripped tightly to his dark coat, pulling it tighter around himself as he shivered.
They'd been right.
He wore it all the time because he was cold.
He hit play again.
Tumblr media
Conductor was holding the camera this time.
The shot was much steadier than the previous ones as Scarlett sang, dancing around a practice room.
Emily and Badge walked up on her sides.
"One week later, I'm writing a letter nightly, now my life gets better every letter that you write me," Scarlett sang, her years of playing Eliza evident. "Laughing at my sister because she wants to form a harem."
"I'm just saying, if you really loved me you would share him," Emily purred.
"Ha!" Badge and Scarlett exclaimed.
The camera shifted as it was put down on a table and Conductor crossed the room to stand parallel to the bench his friends then sat down at.
"Two weeks later, in the living room stressin'. My father, stone faced, as you're asking for his blessing. I'm dying inside as you wine and dine, and I'm trying not to cry cause there's nothing that I can do," Scarlett continued to sing.
"My father makes his way across the room to you. I panic for a second thinking we're through. Then he shakes your hand and says be true. And you turn back to me, smiling - I'm helpless!"
Conductor strode across the room, looping his arms around Scarlett's waist.
She laughed as he picked her up and spun her, the two of them forgetting about their practice.
"Lovebirds, you're never gonna get this year's show done if you keep interrupting practice," Emily complained, hitting pause on the music track they had playing.
"I know the entire thing back to back. Yer just upset I got recast as Alexander again," Conductor argued, setting Scarlett back down. "And Scarlett has only ever played Eliza, she's got this. If anythin', she's the best of anyone here."
"Doesn't mean you can slack off and be romantic. Badge has never played Peggy before," Emily growled.
"Badge remembers the script too. And even if they didn't, then I'm sure that one of those badges might help them out," Conductor spat.
Tumblr media
"That's when it went downhill," Conductor whispered, pausing the video again.
The Express let out a whine as the wood of the floor creaked.
"Is that why you hate Hamilton?" The phone buzzed with static as the train spoke.
"It might be," Conductor breathed.
"You loved it before Emily died."
"I did, didn't I?"
He hit play again.
Tumblr media
The camera sat on a table while Conductor grinned giddily at Badge.
"Guess what?" Conductor asked.
"What?" Badge asked, always curious about things that went on.
"She said yes!" Conductor exclaimed.
Badge shrieked delightedly, flinging themself at him.
"Finally! Peck, I've waited so long!" Badge squealed, clinging to the owl.
"Will you be the best man?"
"Of course!"
Tumblr media
He paused.
"I didn't even know it was filmin' then."
"Badge loved to record things," The Express reminded.
Conductor looked up as someone knocked on the door to his room.
"Go away!" Conductor shouted.
"Please can I come in?" Grooves asked quietly.
"No!" He looked over at the phone on the wall. "Don't you dare."
The door clicked as it unlocked and Grooves opened it.
"Fine, I'll buy cheap coal for the next month," Conductor told the train.
Grooves sat down on the floor with Conductor, pulling the owl into a hug.
"Can you explain it?" Grooves asked softly, resting his head atop Conductor's.
"I don't want to."
"That's fine. I'll wait until you're ready."
"I miss her."
"I know."
"She was so talented. I got her to star in a couple of my movies before she- before she-"
"You don't have to say it," Grooves said, hugging Conductor closer to him.
"Scarlett was such a talented owl. The best actress I've ever met," Conductor started. "She was so kind when I first met her. I was scared of makin' friends back then. But she helped me. And it took a few years but I fell for her. And a few years later we were together."
"It was stupid of me to think it'd last. She'd been sick for years. We knew it was coming. But Roxie was so young and I didn't know what to do," Conductor continued.
"I sent her to boarding school and focused on my movies. It's my fault we're not close. I've tried to make it up but I can't. I can't."
Grooves hugged him tighter as Conductor repeated it.
"I can't."

Not a request!!! Just a thought;
But will you ever consider writing a full on one-shot of the self aware enstars au? I’ve been reading some of your discussions about it and it’s low-key interesting …I love your work as well so I’m interested in reading your interpretations on it! Because in a lot of yandere stories, it mostly relies on dialogue to tell us all about the character and plot of the story. There’s also physical descriptions of actions which is made very clear cut and just generally straightforward that it is a yandere story. Which I feel like it’s easy to lose interest on such stories because you can usually predict how it’ll go. There’s also the entire POV thing, wether it be 3rd, 1st, or 2nd, I feel like you could use each of these perspectives to throw the readers in a loop. Wether it be being vague to the point everyone is always switching the blame, red herrings with false implications, etc. And I think it’s kinda hard to feel the scary aspect of a yandere story when it’s clearly in front of you. There’s not a lot of room for interpretations for it. I usually like reading a story that’s more “show don’t tell” vibe when it comes to yandere, because as a reader you also feel unnerved not knowing the characters…but they know you, don’t they? But you don’t have to know that yet, don’t lose you head over it silly…It really starts to make you question intentions, second guess, and having to re read each paragraph to find any foreshadowing. Hell, maybe you start to go crazy as well.
Which is why I like the idea of a self aware au, you’d probably just find yourself outright denying everything. That the game is iffy and is worth deleting (aka more complications) or you’d full on always blame the lag or a bug. But specifically self aware au where the mc gets transported into their world, it’d be 100% more harder, considering having to adapt in a new world and slowly realising your entire existence. I feel like it can slowly spiral to an unhinged mc that’s just succumbing to their reality, losing their marbles while at it, and bunch of dudes go crazy for them.
But what do you think of how the mc/reader would react? In a self aware au setting, I think there’s many possibilities and each oprutunity can lead up to some spicy drama lol…
Ps. I love your work! You’ve really worked hard and I hope it continues to pay off! Hope you have a great day <3
First of all, thank you for the very thorough ask, I love seeing what you guys think about certain aspects!
To answer your question, I'd definitely be up for one day writing a one-shot centered around the idea of the yandere self-aware au! All it comes down to is me suddenly getting a good idea on what I could write. The way I go about writing scenarios vs headcanons or rambles is pretty different
For headcanons it's usually good enough to simply start with certain ideas and then it kind of develops from there because I get more ideas as I'm writing and the structure of headcanons or rambles allows me to simply add on any ideas I just had without disrupting the "flow" too much
With scenarios, I usually like to plan out most of what happens beforehand. So I have a certain idea and the steps of what needs to happen in order and at what conclusion I want to end it all on. I can still improvise some of the dialogue or smaller parts but usually I have an outline I need to follow so it all makes sense because it's like an actual story you read from beginning to end that needs to follow a single flowing narrative
It's a lot more work and I need a better idea of what I want to write about, which is why it's usually rarer for me to post a scenario, it just takes a lot of time compared to headcanons.
What I mean to say is that I'm open to the idea of writing a one-shot for the Au, I'm just waiting for the day where an idea suddenly appears in my head and I know exactly what to write. So it may take a while to get to that point but it's definitely not out of the question!
I'm also a fan of "show, don't tell" and subtle foreshadowing and I like trying to incorporate some of that into my writing, though I don't know if I always succeed at that. I particularly throwing in a line and repeating it in the end where it has a different meaning djdjd The "unknown" parts are what keeps me on my toes as I read a yandere story. Of course, having read a lot of these stories over the years you start to get a certain feeling for tropes that might appear so I'm genuinely impressed when something manages to surprise me. I love the slow realization of all the hints the author dropped in the beginning and that it didn't just come out of the blue.
The reader being unaware of what is actually happening, only being able to guess is really interesting and you're right when you say that a self-aware au lends itself well to that!
I feel like no matter how much I think about this kind of AU and how suspicious it would be for a new line to appear or something of the like, irl I would never realize something like that would be happening to be honest djdjdj Like I would sit there and be like " I guess they added a new campaign :)" or think it was some sort of glitch. Knowing of the tropes in writing would not help be in actually realizing the problem if I were in that exact same situation, so I can't blame the readers in these scenarios that only think the app is acting up or something. We as the actual readers might be aware that it's yandere related but no one would actually believe that if they were in the same situation
So yes, the game starts glitching and ominous things happen and yet the player is not aware at all. You just know something is happening but you don't know *what*
But really, imagine something like that happening to you and you're suddenly in the enstars world, you would be so disoriented and scares as hell💀 Like, how would you even get out of there?? How did you get there in the first place?? What is going on??
You'd be so stressed that you'd have an even harder time picking up on any unhealthy behaviors from the characters, too distracted by the fact that you're somehow talking to a living, breathing game character.
Like
Mika: "Oh I'm so so glad to see you! I don't deserve to be in your presence but I would do absolutely anything for you! Just say the word and I will get rid of anyone that bothers you because I love you so much!!"
You: Is that Mika Kagehira from the hit mobile-game Ensemble Stars! Music and Basic, available in the appstore and Google play as well as in qooapp? Oh my god
Like, you're just in utter disbelief that any of this is happening while all the characters go bonkers because you're finally with them. I can definitely see you slowly losing your mind because it's all so surreal and you don't know what to do or who to trust

Expecting Jimin and JK to be glued at the hip at all time more than we do see from the glimpses we get (which says a lot) is laughable, not to mention really unhealthy, especially among their ot7 group routine who are all close as family. They have their parents, friends, their own work commitments and contract. It makes no sense for them not to want some time apart if they are togethet or even just Bff's. Especially when Jimin's solo turn is coming up and he might want to see how things are looking and how it's being done first hand. Some people here sounds like they have no real idea of how adult relationship looks like (and completly ignore the fact they aren't out or had the messy risky year they had) or pretending to be worried to stir drama tbh. Unless we start to sense some bad blood and resentment between them which I see none, there's no reason to start create fake bad scenarios or dramas for them like "how could he not attend his beau event!?!?" when they themselves don't seem to care and clearly keep enjoying being around each other for reasons of their own. Having their own thing while keep spending time together might be the thing that keeps them steady and giddy for a decade now and helps them control the crazy hate they recieve. Whatever they chose to do seems to be working great so people should really stop with the whole "they don't like eo anymore" loop, it's been years.
I agree completely with everything you've said, especially worrying about not seeing them Always Together now (which, admittedly, used to be a Thing specific to Jikookery). They are in the later half of their twenties and starting a whole new career chapter; it just makes sense they'd have individual stuff going on, and it's a good thing.
I can't speak for my Nonies, but I think where I was getting caught up this spring was... so, I'm like toddler Army right now, right? I started watching Jimin dance compilations in December and then DEVOURED Jikook clips all through the holidays and January. So I got the impression that Jikookery happened constantly, because I had 8+ years of content instantly at my fingertips.
Then there was the Great Jimin Drought of Early 2022. And I was convinced there had been a bad break up and he was off nursing his wounds alone or something (I didn't know anything about the insurance premiums/mail situation or that his info was leaked online--that didn't hit the news until late April). When Jimin did appear in a few things, like on the walnut Vlive or photoshoots, he seemed so quiet and his energy was muted, compared to what I'd perceived as his normal giggly self.
So then I started wondering what had changed. He'd been through serious illness, and JK and the others never really mentioned it (Tae did post a lovely photo online and answered some WeVerse questions, praise Jesus). So I looked back at content and I started to see that round about when COVID hit, Jimin would mostly be the one reaching out to JK and JK would accept him but often not initiate. The vibes felt off. I wondered if they'd had an amicable breakup at some point. (I'm sure Memories 2021 is about to blow that theory to smithereens and I am HERE FOR IT.)
Now, there were some cute moments in Seoul concert but also some major awkwardness too. I began to really worry that Jimin wasn't loved as much as he loved. Like, the behind the scenes Grammy video had some cute Vmin moments but barely any interaction between Jikook at all. Vibes were just different than what I'd expected. But then the Vegas concert was off the chain with Jikookery, my good lord. So I was like "naw, they are still stupid in love, it's fine."
But then they came home together and we had the Second Great Jimin Drought of Mid-2022. Right around the time the supposed scandal hit--his OST was coming out and within hours on the same day, news was blowing up about his "apartment seizure." Jimin was MIA for weeks. He never said a word about that issue or his OST. Neither did any of his members.
Plus his OST got no official playlist, a shortened first-day release, wasn't listed on the K-pop charts, wasn't played on the radio until fans requested it--hell, he didn't even have an official Spotify account for the first three days so folks had to HUNT for his song. He didn't mention his OST until the WeVerse article came out in summer and he did that radio spot just recently with Sungwoon. I realize With You is a YamYam production, not Hybe, but all of the members have hyped-up non-Hybe content before, especially on their own social media. So this complete radio silence had me super confused.
And then on Proof, he was the only member who didn't have his own demo track (Tony Montana is cool and all but it is not the same). So I had to suspect that the reason Jimin seemed so withdrawn this year is that someone at the company was doing him dirty and none of his members really had his back, at least not publicly. (I had no evidence of this, my mind just went there as a possible reason.)
What worried me most is that throughout early 2022--through the mail tampering, the info doxxing, the apartment seizure, COVID, appendicitis, and whatnot--I didn't see an ounce of support from Jungkook, his (supposed) lover. Jungkook would come on insta or Live and not even say Jimin's NAME for months. A true departure from the typical Jikookery I had just binge-watched. He was still super attentive and affectionate with all his other members but acted like he'd never met Jimin in his life. (And Jimin did the same--even when Joon mentioned Jungkook working out, Jimin went quiet and then changed the topic.) Had he not been seen with Jimin on White Day, I would have assumed JK had abandoned him during his troubles. (Again, no evidence, my mind just went there. I am human. Thoughts come without invitation, sometimes, and take up residence.)
Follow that up with so MUCH Jimin on his Insta (keep being jealous, we hugged, he is mine!) and hanging out every night after the concert, sitting off alone together at restaurants and working out together late at night, and I got whiplash. Does JK only acknowledge Jimin when abroad? When not in work mode? When high off a performance?
Thank GOD for blogs like Stormblessed and Kanmom51 and ParkParkJeon who meticulously archive things and give rational discussions and balanced perspectives. Even still, it took me quite a while to accept what older Army kept telling me: long stretches with a lack of interaction is normal for them, they are fine, don't expect them to be loud all the time when together, remember they are in the closet and under constantly scrutiny, etc. etc. etc.
I'm one of those people who loves data. You cannot give me enough data. I will take all the evidence in the world and recalibrate my opinions with each new sliver. But that really lends itself to a propensity to overthink and over analyze. As you said, it becomes a perpetual loop, and it isn't productive. So now I eagerly wait for new content, but, I try not to freak out if I'm not getting much of ANY content. That's not a sign that something is wrong, not with Jikook anyway.
I've decided in the end that what I need as a Jimin and BTS fan is to see Jimin and BTS happy and thriving. If Jimin is getting himself loved up by Jungkook in addition to that, bonus, that brings me such joy. But it's also not my business and I wouldn't want for them to endure the fallout that comes with being outed. So I just try really hard to walk that line between being curious/excited, and being obtrusive/demanding, you know?
And I will say: the gentle way Jungkook chose to rest his hand overtop Jimin's while they both giggled alone in the dark at the back of Hobi's party? I can dine out on that for weeks. They seem good. I'm good. :-)

BL ~ Drama Asks
Awwww. @gunsatthaphan happened to tag little old me?! Doreen you sweetie pie pumpkin!! You're too cuuute. 😭 I love these little tag games, although I'm not the best with expressing myself. Let's give it a go~!
1. If you had to watch one drama forever what would it be? Oh dear goodness. If it were on a loop, I'm unsure I could handle most things, but if it's the only drama I'm allowed to watch for the foreseeable future... Maybe Not Me? I think there's just something equally wholesome and real but also action-y enough to hold my attention in the long term.

2. If you could change the ending of a drama which one would it be? Gaya Sa Pelikula's is one of those dramas where I loved the story, as it was believable but gosh do I wish they could at the very least give an extended ending or second season... I honestly think it ended well enough... but to believe that 'oh time has passed, everything is okay all of a sudden and they are together maybe?'... I dunno about that. I would have preferred it to end where both parties split up and it was left to the imagination or a second season... That's all.
3. Name your favorite drama and tell who your favorite character was. Ooooh. Favourite drama. I can't point at one and go AHA that was my all-time favourite. But I really do genuinely love Semantic Error in one of those kitschy 'Well aww... That was kinda cute'. Soft drama ways... It's something I could show to someone that's not necessarily ready or willing to go through how toxic some Thai or Taiwanese dramas can get. Let's just say it's safe to show random friends so I quite like it. If we're just talking about something I love for the sake of the actors / characters / etc... Maybe Why R U? But I think I'm just a low-key hoe for Zee's characters and that was a classic for me. Pfft. Who knows.
4. Name a drama you dropped within the first few episodes ~ we all have at least one! I never like dropping a series, I usually at least give it a solid go, but something more recent I have just yet to return to would be La Cuisine... I'm not even entirely sure why... It just felt a bit slow to me? I would always be down for someone to tell me just give it another go, but for the time being I've been on the fence. Another show I just had to stop for a prolonged period of time was 'The Tuxedo'. I did eventually find it in myself to see it through but gosh that series felt like a crash and burn... I could not find a likeable character trait for most of the cast... Insert deep sigh here.
5. Name a popular drama you've never watched and why? Honestly? I feel like I'm calling myself out here but I've never actually watched 'My Engineer'. I've seen Perth do a sort of skim over his portions of the show but I never gave it a proper watch. I just need someone to shove it at my face I suppose. I want to want to see it but I feel like the excitement train had already passed and there is no foreseeable second season...
6. Name a drama you regret watching. Oh gosh, I feel like this is a rough question... I suppose 'Enchante'' would be up there... I don't think I would have gotten through that one without a friend watching with me. I'm not the biggest fan of the reverse harem concept, especially when every character has some 'hidden reason' to be a scumbag leading one character on. Something just doesn't sit right with me in that series. There were cute moments from time to time but under a lot of painful plot I just didn't find enjoyable? I don't know... It's just not my cuppa. Oh and perhaps 'Color Rush 2'... I just have no idea what was going on with that entire plot. I also feel like scrapping Hwall's character entirely was a bad move. I think they should have just stopped at the first season if I'm going to be completely honest.
7. Name a drama you thought you’d never watch but did and did you end up liking it? One that comes to mind is 'Blueming'. I kept hearing about it but I don't generally 'reach' for K-BLs. I more often than not wind up liking them so I don't know why I find myself so hesitant. All of that being said, I really did love that series. It was soft and had some lovely little scenes that I found quite memorable. I dunno. I'm a sucker for cute. What can I say.
8. Name a pairing you want to see? Oooh... see, I really don't think I could answer this in all honesty. I don't find myself actively shipping out characters or actors that are not already in fictional relationships. So I'm sorry but I will have to skip over this one.

9. Name a pairing you didn’t think had chemistry? I genuinely hate saying this, but please give the BillySeng pair another shot *outside* of 'Secret Crush On You'... I was struggling with this series. It was a hot mess. I do not enjoy stalking behaviour shown as a cutesy trait. No. For that reason I think I just could not get behind this pairing. Maybe in another drama I could give it a shot but under these circumstances, it's a no-go for me.
10. Name a pairing you have seen in another drama that you like? I know it's recent and all over but gosh I really did love Bible and Build as VegasPete in KinnPorsche. That was the most toxic ride but jeez did they have on screen chemistry. I would love to see them do something a bit more soft in the future... Especially under a different company... (I do not like the things I've read regarding the entire cast's treatment...) But yeah. I quite enjoy them as actors! Please pass them some fluff next time though? I'm sure Bible can do fluff if you give him the chance. Build has fluffy bunny written all over him already so that wouldn't be too hard. 😊
You absolute sweetie pie pumpkin, thank you for the tag. This was a hoot~ I don't often do these, but I do love hearing everyone else's opinions. 😊 I would love to see these wonderful nuggets take a crack at this in their free time if they so choose~ But don't feel pressured to!! Just would love to see! If anyone else happens to come across this as well, please feel free to give it a go and let me know!

fandom ask for 80s Who, please! (Or all of DW if you like, I just like to break it down for these asks bc otherwise it gets overwhelming)
Ok, 80s...that's the tail end of Four up through Seven. (I have trouble with dates.)
Favorite character: Five.
Least Favorite character: Adric. He feels like a little kid tagging along trying to be part of the big kids' games, and (idk if this was a deliberate choice or just the actor's natural voice) he has a whiny/pushy tone of voice that grates on me even when I otherwise like his role in the story.
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Four/Romana. Um...hm, I don't really ship a lot of people. Delta and Billy were fun, in a ridiculous sort of way?
Character I find most attractive: I'm not usually attracted by physical appearance, but personality-wise, Five.
Character I would marry: As much as I love Five, I'd have to go with Nyssa. Everyone else (including lots of side characters) has way too much chaotic space-hobo energy for a stable relationship.
Character I would be best friends with: Nyssa again. She's got a calm intelligence that I both admire and relate to. She'd be good company.
a random thought: I want the new show to do a follow-up episode to Battlefield where the Doctor first takes the role of Merlin to close the loop on Seven's shenanigans.
An unpopular opinion: I'm glad Adric died. Not in a "he got what's coming" way, but in a "that was a good narrative choice" way. It actually made me like him a lot more retrospectively. He always seemed like more of a problem than a solution, but ending his arc with a noble self-sacrifice made him feel valuable to the team just in time for them to lose him, which was unexpectedly poignant (and opened the door for plenty of drama and character growth for the survivors too).
My Canon OTP: Well...kind of canon? Assumed by most people to be canon even if never officially confirmed? Four/Romana.
My Non-canon OTP: I would have loved to see Romana stick around. Her no-nonsense force of personality would have been an interesting contrast with Five's calmer take on things, and she and Six would have been a freaking badass power couple. They would have argued and snarked at each other nonstop at high volume and freaked out the other companions until they realized that was their version of flirting. Then they'd suddenly switch gears to perfect unison back and forth one-liners that come within an inch of insulting the villain to death. Dang it I have to write a fic about them now.
Most Badass Character: Five. Everyone seems to remember his sweet/cute/bumbling moments, but he was unstoppable when he wanted to be. I mean: Androzani, enough said.
Most Epic Villain: In concept if not quite in execution, the Great Vampires. I'm also rather fond of the Mara. And an honorable mention has to go to the Black Guardian and the surprisingly cool-looking bird on his head.
Pairing I am not a fan of: Five with any of his space-kids. Just no. Of all TARDIS teams, this is the one that most deserves to be called "fam." I can't say I'm a fan of Nyssa/Tegan either; I love their friendship and it kind of bothers me how often people interpret really close friendship as romance.
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Well, Six kind of goes without saying. Mel never really got the development she deserved, either.
Favourite Friendship: Nyssa and Tegan. I also really like the development of the Doctor and Turlough dynamic, one of the rare situations where they really develop a Doctor and companion friendship instead of it just -- happening.
Character I most identify with: probably Nyssa.
Character I wish I could be: Um...none of them, really. I'm a homebody who likes to play it safe. I don't want to run off and see the universe, I don't want a life of adrenaline and danger, and no offense to the Doctor, but I don't want to be part of anything that would bring him to town.
