As it goes with every new brainrot I have, it’s time for Kirby crossover again :)
Kirby in one piece! With one piece’s strong focus on dreams and found family, I thought it would fit for Kirby to be a pirate that dreams of sailing to the stars and beyond. Not that this is very achievable by normal means, but we know that it’s at least possible with Eneru and the Skypiea arc :D
More notes in the read more!
Kirby has the devil fruit power of the copy-copy fruit! A paramecia activated by contact and only able to copy one fruit at a time. It can copy logias and paramecias with no problems, though actual ability using the fruit’s powers is up to Kirby to practice and figure out. Zoans can only be copied to partial transformations and cannot be awakened. Kirby doesn’t have much of a mind for haki but has a lot of latent conquerer’s haki that he doesn’t realize— it’s one of the reasons he’s able to make friends so effortlessly.
Meta Knight in this AU is a retired marine, between Captain and Rear Admiral level. He has a bat model zoan fruit that allows him to grow wings, and is a skilled swordsman. He’s retired from the marines but acts a his own separate party that is neither revolutionary, marine, nor pirate, keeping his own fleet known as the Meta-Knights. Their actions are similar to pirates despite not flying a Jolly Roger. They claim territory to protect and occasionally fight other pirate crews, and they claim no allegiance to the world government. They simply go where they are needed. Meta Knight will sometimes sail with Kirby on his small ship, the Popstar, just to keep Kirby out of trouble and make sure the ship is well stocked and well-maintained and able to be seaworthy.
Dedede is the king to one of the small countries that isn’t represented at the Reverie. That means he has a lot more freedom to do his own thing, including setting sail while taking a crew of Dees with him and leaving the country in the hands of some administrative Dees. Dedede splits his time between exploring and sailing and returning home to run his country, with the help of his trusty second in command, Bandanna Dee. Dedede has a penguin model Zoan fruit, and Bandanna doesn’t have any devil fruit but is proficient in coating their spear in haki. They’re the designated save-the-fruit-user-from-drowning person when they’re on deck.
Kirby’s crew changes because a lot of the people he recruits tend to have their own responsibilities. His crew is also full of people he’s beaten. It’s not uncommon for Kirby to sail alone, though he gets into more scrapes than usual with bad weather and rough waves. It can hardly be called a pirate crew, but Kirby has collected all the most heinous criminals under his banner and as such, the world government treats it as a threat.

Seven(ish) Sentence Sunday ✍️
It’s Sunday for me so here’s a small eight sentence tease of a snippet from the ladder truck bombing from Rival Firefighters 🚒 (I’m pretty sure it’s eight sentences … I don’t want to recount so we’re going with eight).
Gosh I really really really want to share everything I’ve written for the bombing because your girl needs validation, but I don’t want to share everything haha. The struggle is real 😅
Prev snippet here.
Collateral damage.
Freddie says the words with a shrug like he’s not talking about a fucking life and the fury burning inside Eddie grows hotter. This guy doesn’t give a shit about the people he’s hurt, so blinded by his stupid quest for revenge. Eddie isn’t aware his hands are clenched and shaking, nails digging into the skin of his palms, until there’s a hand on his wrist and Hen’s voice is drifting into his ear, soft and gentle like a trickling stream.
“I know you’re angry, I am too,” she slides her hand down from his wrist to slowly pry his hand open, “but Buck needs us to be calm and in control of ourselves right now, okay Eddie?” Her hand slips into his and she squeezes gently. Eddie can feel the stickiness of blood between their palms from his fingernails. “Trust Bobby, he hasn’t let us down so far, I don’t think he’s planning on starting today.”

A long, long time ago I got asked about Akari’s pokemon team. I had answered it, but since then I’ve changed a lot of the Pokémon on her team, and wanted to make a proper post for it ^^
@tjs-stuffs has put in lots of thought and meaning into their own pokemon teams for their AUs, as well as analyze NPCs’ pokemon teams to see what it says about their trainers, and I thought that was really cool so I wanted to try that too when reconstructing Akari’s team!
long analyzation about each member below!
—————
EMBER ♀ | LVL 48 QUILAVA
HARDY NATURE
Akari’s starter Pokémon. I thought a fire-type would work well with an outgoing personality, and it would be a useful starter to have in the wild — makes camping easier with usefulness in cooking and staying warm.
And with Hisuian Typhlosion’s entries saying it’s speculated to guide lost souls, I believe it’s especially fitting for Akari since she was put there to really help out a very lost Jubilife Village and show them Pokémon aren’t creatures to be afraid of. And in my stories especially, I frequently stress that Akari is “guiding” Ingo out of this lost, empty state and will eventually be the reason why he gets back home.
—————
KITE ♂ | LVL 36 DRIFLOON
IMPISH NATURE
Akari caught this Pokémon out in the fieldlands while doing her initial trial for Cyllene.
Lots of drifloon and drifblim’s entries talk about the Pokémon’s relation to lost people, more frequently children. And how with those who go missing, no one knows where they went. Sometimes also relates to lost souls. Akari is certainly a “lost soul” who was plucked suddenly from her time, and no one knows what happened to her or where she went.
—————
JELLY ♀ | LVL 41 MANTYKE
JOLLY NATURE
Akari caught this Pokémon in the coastlands when she saw she couldn’t avoid swimming anymore, and needed help as someone who couldn’t swim.
Mantyke is one of the very few pokemon (if not the only one, IIRC) who evolves through a symbiotic relationship with another Pokémon, remoraid. I thought it would attribute well to Akari, since so much of what she’s doing in Hisui is based on symbiotic relationships.
She is doing what Arceus asked of her, and in return Arceus assists her where it can. She stays in Jubilife Village, but only if she does hard work and is helpful to Kamado and the Galaxy Team in return.
And in my fics especially, her and Ingo have a symbiotic relationship, both helping the other out in many ways (that are emotionally healthier and less forced than what she’s got with Arceus and the Galaxy Team).
—————
TRINKET ♀ | LVL 39 CHINGLING
CAREFUL NATURE
Akari caught this Pokémon in the highlands when she spotted its unusual and pretty colors.
Chingling are said to be based off Suzu bells, which can be used for Shinto Shrines — worshipping places for various deities, and were around in Japan during the Meiji Era.
As someone doing what was asked of them by Arceus, a diety that is greatly respected and revered in the region (although they’re largely unknown to be what everyone calls Almighty Sinnoh until the end of the story), I thought it would be a good fit for Akari.
—————
FREIGHT ♂ | LVL 40 SHIELDON
BRAVE NATURE
Akari caught this Pokémon within a space-time distortion in the highlands. She asked Ingo to help her name this one.
Shieldon and Bastiodon are described to be very strong Pókemon, yet they prefer avoiding conflict — they’re also impenetrable with their hard heads, but are weak to attacks from behind. And as ancient Pokémon from the past, the ones that show up in Hisui are obviously displaced.
I think a lot of these fit Akari well. She’s also very formidable in battle but isn’t really someone who often goes looking for fights (in the aggressive sense, at least). The sturdy face but weaker backside also seems to fit how I write Akari; she puts on a tough “I’m fine” front a lot, even if she’s not, and is sometimes reluctant to share her struggles. And finally, the most obvious — she’s just as displaced as these fossil Pokémon.
—————
POM-POM ♂ | LVL 45 RUFFLET
LONELY NATURE
Akari caught this Pokémon in the icelands (specifically during the events of HFBE, she finds it without its parents).
Many of Rufflet’s dex entries describe it as Pokémon that will fight stronger opponents more out of recklessness than bravery, and Braviary’s dex entries describe it as a Pokémon that will bravely fight for its friends to protect them, even if they themselves are hurt.
I felt like this fit how I write Akari pretty well. Sometimes she’s reckless, yes, but she will take on whatever comes after herself or her friends, and will keep pushing. (Such as frequently claiming to fight Arceus to get Ingo home with her if she has to — she will follow through with this if she must!!)

Your Potential.
Ok now for the lore, came up with most of this just thinking one night about the arrow:
The Requiem Arrow:
it can be activated just by simply cutting yourself with it or stabbing yourself with it (as we see done with Giorno.). However, there are a couple complications in doing this, it could work, you could get a requiem stand but it may result in your stand rejecting & acting against you, if you're not mentally strong enough to control it (Polnareff, prime example), if it doesn't work depending on how you use the arrow on yourself, like if you stabbed yourself, you could just die & that would be the end. Anyway, I was thinking about fugio & insecurities in their own selves & how that can bleed into their relationship, Giorno becoming mildly obsessed with strength & weakness. GER is like, no doubt, one of the most damn OP stands in Jojo, so it's not like he has to worry too much about himself, but he worries obsessively about his remaining loved ones not being able to protect themselves or he won't be there to protect them. As he believes he failed to do in Golden Wind, and this is especially protected onto fugo... SO i imagined like a big scene where Giorno pulls fugo in close & he's doting on him per usual, he tells Fugo how much he loves him and how much he wants him to be well & all, as he's talking to him he slowly pulls the arrow from his back and then stabs Fugo with the Arrow.
Giorno thinks he’s helping fugo "realize his potential", they're becoming "stronger together", Polpo with his test awakened Purple Haze in Fugo; and now Giorno wants to bring out something better.
The great thing about giving your hero an insane powerup is that you can make them addicted & dependant on them.
Some more food for thought:
Everything Giorno does is because it's what HE thinks is just & right, it's repeated over and over again that he fights for the dream he believes is just. But this, to him, is the first time he's done something out of love' he loves fugo, doesn't really care if what he's doing is the most 'just' way, he loves him and he wants him to be strong with him, even at the cost of what he thinks will be just a little pain, a little inconvenience. It’s for the overall good.
TLDR; giorno stabs fugo with the arrow in the name of love, whether Fugo survives it or not is…. Up to you?
Also, the fact that fugo was being held by Giorno, somewhere he feels safe & comforted, he feels loved in his arms. And when you get stabbed with the arrow, what manifests is what you desire most in that moment and… Heh hehe hehe.

I think what the biggest kick in the teeth is with the watcher announcement- at least for me- is knowing that they are NOT Netflix OR Hulu. they do not have enough content to hold an entire streaming service on their back. I get why they’re doing it and that just worries me more. They’re trying to make more money to support their growing company but they just aren’t Dropout, Netflix, or Hulu. With the big buck streaming services, they have enough content beyond their original series to keep people watching (ignoring the fact that most big boy services have needed to switch gears in their monetization to keep going) but watcher does not have that. in order for this change to work even remotely on their end, they’d need to kick into high gear and make more content. Like fast. Someone else pointed out that they’ve got a “two episode per month” schedule and that absolutely will not work for a streaming service. and of course everything I’ve mentioned is on their end, not even taking into consideration how many people are very visibly angry by this. What happens when they don’t have enough people sign up?
what a kick in the pants.
