After questioning it, Fujimoto sets fire to his own creation

Witch, cremation, CSM wannabe... what if the work we love was burning?

You might think that the shortness of this chapter means that it doesn't say much, but the opposite is true - it's overflowing with richness and coherence.

The first thing that impressed me was the mastery of the action, particularly Quanxi's attitude during this very scene

The fact that Quanxi bit Fumiko was nothing more than a way of controlling her future pain; she had perfectly understood that she was going to lose her legs as a result of the fall, just as she couldn't bite herself.

I also like the way we understand how extremely fast her regeneration capacity is, in just a few seconds her leg is healed, and the fake chainsaw men don't even have time to get any closer before their heads are flying.

Apart from the action, the chapter is also very rich in dialogue

I'd like to come back to Barem's characterisation of Nayuta as not only a witch but also an ex-Makima.

First of all, it makes sense in terms of the scenario, because if Nayuta were to die, there'd be no more locks, and the public hunters' dilemma would also fall by the wayside.

But we can dig even deeper, whether in the character of Barem or that of Nayuta.

It's not insignificant that the flame-throwing weapon is the one who starts the witch-hunt, just as it's not insignificant that it's Barem who says it, given that he's a character we can describe as religious.

I think Barem is the weapon with the most resentment towards his instrumentalisation, he also sees Nayuta as a threat because she was a former mistress of the weapons.

But above all, why is the control demon closer to a witch than a demon?

Obviously, when we think of witches, we all think of witch-hunting, but let's take the reasoning to its logical conclusion: why hunt witches? The witch is the symbol of what must be eradicated, of a close link with evil, but above all a pretext for the powers that be to eliminate women who represent a form of power.

Calling Makima a witch is consistent, but at the same time it differs in a few respects: she wasn't driven out by the government, she was deliberately put in place by it. But calling Nayuta a witch instead of a demon is consistent, because she's a demon who, despite her desire for control, blends in with humans.

Nayuta sticks to her role as a little girl, whether it's her interest in school or her focus on her family with Denji.

Makima also had a real desire to integrate, despite the fact that her only response to socialisation was domination.

But she remains a witch, not because she is persecuted, but because she persecutes.

It's not a question of demonising Nayuta, but of not presenting her as a cute, nice girl. I don't understand how some people think that the antagonist of part 1 could have been magically diluted by the power of love. Nayuta is no longer a tool, but she's still a demon exerting a form of control over Denji in his isolation.

Nayuta isn't Machiavellian and she thinks that by preventing Denji from seeing Asa, for example, she's protecting him. What's more, Denji deliberately isolates himself and thinks that Nayuta is the only one who will accept him. While he was psyching himself out over his wet dog smell after Asa's rejection, Nayuta, who claims to love the smell, only confirms this point of view.

Once again, the control demon's objective is always the pursuit of happiness for both of them, just as it was for Makima with Pochita or Nayuta with Denji. The control demon's obsession with Chainsaw Man is what marks the continuity between Makima and Nayuta.

Nayuta's character may not be fundamentally different from Makima's, she's just marked by a more infantile control that's more demonstrative and noisy than adult control, which is colder and more insidious.

That's why I'm changing the premise, I think Nayuta is still Makima, but she's simply changed environment.

When Barem pretends he's heard Chainsaw Man, I don't think it's as absurd as it sounds, he's the one who's most piercing about Denji in each of his interactions, he's insisting on something that Denji isn't admitting to himself.

Whether it's his desire to become Chainsaw Man again in spite of Nayuta, or the fact that Denji also likes to have fans by presenting himself as one, I think that without saying that Denji wants his little sister dead, he thinks she's a witch...

Witch and not demon, Nayuta is not the threat of an enemy, of a demon that CSM should eliminate, but she is not a human little sister, she is dangerous in her need to control her brother.

I adore Nayuta, so I don't want people to think that I hold her responsible for everything, but I see a kind of taboo in the way some fans refuse to see her as anything other than the idyllic little sister

CSM is grey, each positive facet will have a negative facet. Denji's relationship with his little sister is full of contradictory desires that also need to be pointed out.

I think this chapter just points out the taboos, for example by calling Denji a CSM wannabe, I think that's a part of the character that's often overlooked.

CSM is part of Denji's identity, but it's as much a role he's taken on as a mask he hides behind.

To avoid facing up to his own existential difficulties, Denji hides behind Chainsaw Man, convinced that the only way to love him is to discover that he is Chainsaw Man, as if it wasn't possible to simply love the boy.

Just as the only time Denji expressly confesses his feelings is when he's Chainsaw Man. Denji has never spoken of his grief as a human again, just as he has never come to terms with his dream of having sex.

Chainsaw Man is the semblance of confidence that allows Denji to be himself. Didn't you notice how silent and passive he was as a human in the last arc?

Fujimoto questioned one thing throughout part 2: what is Chainsaw Man? Is he the hero that a whole generation of people are fans of, Yoru's enemy, Pochita, that impostor, Denji's identity or... isn't he more all those moments when Denji is himself?

Yoshida had wondered whether CSM would eat the demon of death, and Denji's answer to that question is to go and help Asa without a mask, just by encouraging her. Having just identified the great king of terror as the demon of death, the way to eradicate him also lies in Denji finding solutions not just in Chainsaw Man but in himself and in relying on others. Denji must come to terms with who he is and his isolation.

By setting up a protagonist who, like the former protagonist, experiences repeated bereavements, Fujimoto questions the outcome of grief. Hiding behind Chainsaw Man, isolating himself with Nayuta, is a form of withdrawal. The demon of death is already present in the way Asa and Denji tend to cope with the death of their loved ones.

That's why this work is a first break. The only way to eradicate these fake Chainsaw Man is through cremation, as this prevents them from using their blood to live again. This explains the immortality of the weapons, following the same logic: human blood constantly feeds a demonic heart capable of regenerating itself.

Denji's first response is to burn. Whether it's to emancipate himself from Chainsaw Man, by burning as a simple wannabe of himself, because Denji fantasises about an identity of which he is not the only possessor.

But cremation is just as much a response as escaping the witches - the isolation imposed by the demon of control - but cremation is also a stage in mourning.

When we see the coffin of a loved one being lowered into the crematorium, it's an unheard-of act of violence, but it also symbolises the fact that there's no turning back, that it's a violent impetus to move forward.

The person who has all the answers to all these facets of grief is none other than Power. Denji must also reclaim his identity as a co-contractor with the blood demon, just as he must reconnect with the painful memory to make the demon his "Buddy" again, but above all, Denji has two little sisters, so he mustn't isolate himself with just one. Blood is the key to regeneration, and she is the key to moving forward.

Fujimoto showed in the last arc how "Chainsaw Man" wasn't a satisfactory answer for his protagonist, so now he's setting fire to what has been established as a bad lead.

Fujimoto burns down all the taboos, all the biases we had about the characters but also the ones they have about themselves.

If Chainsaw Man is to continue as a work of art, the title must be crossed out.

The question is, what will replace it?

Ok guys bear with me let's imagine that CSM takes place like two decades later, now let's imagine the characters have social media. Here's how I think that would go.

Power has a viral instagram account where she only posts pictures of Meowy cause everyone loves cats, so she has like thousands of followers. She doesn't interact with anyone besides that. Sometimes she leaves comments on pictures of other cats saying "your cat is fucling ugly. Mine is much better"

She also has a twitter account. Or, well, many twitter accounts. She's banned from it almost weekly and Aki keeps having to make her new accounts. Everytime he makes another one he begs her not to threaten to kill anyone. She does it anyway.

Aki used social media as an old lady, as in he only uses it to see the news and recipes. When he was a bit younger, however, he had tumblr

Denji has Instagram and tik tok cause he heard there's a lot of pretty women in those places. He only uses instagram to stare at women and see cute pictures of dogs. He somehow ended up in the lesbian thirsty trap side of tik tok. He's not exactly complaining.

He has a chainsaw man fan account on twitter. He doesn't use twitter for anything else as the discourse makes his head hurt.

Angel has pinterest, which he uses to mindless look at aesthetic food pictures and weird memes all day. He sometimes sends said memes to Aki. Aki is worried

Kobeni has a twitter account which she uses like a diary and overshares way too much and a tik tok account where she posts little dances. She's a great dancer, but she's always crying in her videos cause that's how being perceived makes her feel

Yoshida has a twitter account where he wins discourses by either being right in an annoying way or sending people their exact address. He also makes sure Denji doesn't reveal his identity is his chainsaw man fan account

Asa DEFINITELY has a tumblr account (one of us one of us) where she trauma dumps and posts about her hiperfixations and special interests. (Don't we all)

Makima has a twitter account and she's actually really famous. Y'know, cause she's the average twitter user.

Movie Night- CSM

What your fav is choosing for movie night!- Power, Kobeni, Reze, Asa/Yoru, Quanxi(+the gfs), Makima, and Himeno

a/n: first post that i am making from a computer waaaahhh, sorry if it’s bad lol I watched some movies today and i wanted to share what I think some of the characters from CSM would watch! I hope you guys enjoy, also trying to branch out writing some of the characters so there's a bit more in this one i think. Also all movies choosen are just ones that i think they would watch, these are also mostly movies I’ve watched! some of these movie choices suck/are probs overused

POWER:

Power has a very versatile list of movies that she wants to watch every single time

Getting to watch a movie dates are most likely her reward from you for bathing or being good

Power’s pick of a good movie are mostly likely horror movies. The more gorey the better, the more blood shown the better as well.

Always laughing at the horrific scenes

Doesn’t like horror movies where the people have to go through elaborate puzzles to live. Power finds those boring and way to long. (Definitely not disliking Saw)

Power’s go to movie is Texas Chainsaw Massacre! It reminds her of Denji and she likes taking notes of what’s going on then asking Denji if he’s able to do the things that were in the movie.

While watching the movie, Power is really invested! Finds the movies very interesting. Holds Meowy up to see the screen while asking Meowy questions.

“Meowy, don’t you think the movie is interesting? Oh wow! Look at him chopping up that human! Weaklings! I would never be killed in such a way.”

KOBENI:

Kobeni likes movies that have a nice storyline and cute characters!

When she’s able to, Kobeni always choosen a movie that makes her feeling happy! She’s most likely choosing a Studio Ghibli film or a popular romance film!

Howl’s Moving castle is one of Kobeni’s favorite movies to watch on her days off. She likes to be able to be in her pajamas while laying either on the couch or on the bed cuddling with you. Maybe even having a snack or two nearby.

She loves pointing out detail in the scene as well as repeating some of the lines that she knows by heart, though she’ll get embarrassed if you tease her about it.

Kobeni especially loves it when you remember little facts that she tells you about the movie!

“uhh, I know it’s not in the movie, but Sophie.. Sophie actually has powers in novel! I really think they could’ve added it in the movie but I suppose it makes the movie storyline move better. AH! Sorry, I was rambling!”

Kobeni’s favorite character is Turnip Head! She finds Turnip Head helping Sophie along in her adventures adorable!

REZE:

Action Movies with a bit of romance!

While it might be a bit cheesy, Reze likes movies that have both action and some romance. She think it’s nice that throughout all the violence that occurs that the main character and their love interest can still fall in love.

Her top movie of this kinda of movie is Divergent.

She likes the main character and finds the storyline exciting and interesting.

Definitely read the book series and liked it just as much, maybe even better than movie itself.

Likes explaining niche details in the movie, maybe slightly spoiling the movie/book itself.

“So in this scene, you can see that she’s about to get a tattoo, but your gonna wanna notice the kind of tattoo it is! This will be important for later in the movie and- Heyy (y/nn) are ya listening?”

definitely looks up the actors to see what other movies/shows they’re apart of

Reze also nit picks certain parts of the movie and how they differ from the book

ASA/Yoru

Asa doesn’t really watch movies. I see her watching more documentaries than movies.

Likes watching documentaries with you on different topics from oceanic life to ancient greece life.

Doesn’t really talk during these moments you both are watching, but will pause to discuss part of it with you or to correct the speaker about how the information they said was slightly incorrect. (mostly does that during oceanic documentaries)

“I disagree with what they said. While yes you can eat starfish, you have to be careful. A large handful of starfish are poisonous and it’s dangerous to eat them. You can differentiate between them though but that would involve you having to do your own research about such a topic. I don’t see you having to eat those anytime soon, plus if you did-”

Asa is always proud when you praise her for knowing so much. Even offering to teach you a bit more as a study date!

Yoru doesn’t really watch movies or anything but does also like documentaries. Specifically, about weaponry or even wars.

Watching the weaponry documentaries provides her with more ideas for weapons. Likes to also watch the clips of the weapons being made.

War documentaries are a bit different with Yoru though. She oddly proud of them and wishes for you to praise her for them, going so far as to slightly nudge you to hopefully prompt you to compliment such awful events.

“Y’know, I’m the one who cause all of that. Such memorable events came from me! It’s shame that nobody else seems to remember them, ah! But you can boast about how your dating someone so powerful if you wish.”

You might have to explain why those aren’t boastful events even if she pouts.

QUANXI(+the gfs):

Quanxi doesn’t choose what movie is being watched. She usually lets you and the other girls choose.

However, it isn’t unusually for her to be a tie breaker for a movie. Depending on the movie and her mood, she’ll choose whichever she feels more like watching.

These can range from a horror movie (Cosmo’s choice being Halloween) to mystery movies (Pingsti choice being Where the Crawdads Sing)

Quanxi usually chooses the movie of whoever she hasn’t been paying more attention to.

A cuddle pile always occurs during the movies in which almost everyone falls asleep.

Snacks are also always present during these movie nights too. A whole buffet of choices

Quanxi most likely feeds one of the girls and the rest then all ask to be fed there choice of snack

“Eveyone got to eat there snack right? Oh (y/n), c’mere, you got a little somethin’ on your mouth.”

This leads to movie getting completely forgot, sometimes it’s a wonder why a movie night is even held.

MAKIMA:

While a bit of a mystery, one thing that’s for certain about Makima is her love for films.

Makima loves having movies night, especially when you choose then film. She likes to know the reasoning behind your choice.

Are you sad or mad? Perhaps in a mood for laughs? Romantic movies perhaps you wish for something to happen throughout the movie?

Whatever the reason is, Makima enjoys watching you pick movies.

Makima usually chooses films that might make no sense or that have an artsy way of videography. Though she usually doesn’t say anything or show much emotion during the film

Makima doesn’t really have a favorite film. She likes ones that can make her feel emotions that she might not normally.

A film I believe Makima might genuinely like is Titanic. While an old movie and probably over used movie, it still has a nice storyline and pretty visuals.

“This movie is quite interesting. Were you interested in the romantic aspect of the film or perhaps the tragedy that was the boat sinking? Truly an interesting event, yes?”

Whatever the movie choice is, Makima is sure to even slightly enjoy even if it isn’t something she likes or usually watches.

HIMENO:

On the days that Himeno isn’t working or out drinking with her friends in the division, Himeno enjoys watching movies all day in her pajamas while eating either take out or whatever she has in her house with you.

She always welcome a nice laugh, so comedy movies are definitely her favorites.

Himeno especially likes movies that feature Adam Sandler

Whether that be Grown Ups or Hotel Transylvania, she doesn’t mind.

Loves quote random lines even if the lines are cringey.

Will probably watch any/all comedy movies the she can get her hands on. As long as she can get a good laugh she’s fine with it!

Definitely calls you to tell you that she bought five new movies that you both just have to watch right that moment.

“ Okay so before you come home, head to the convivence store near our place and buy an assload of snacks, OH! And drinks, can’t forget those, No need to grab any beer, i think there’s already some in the fridge. See you at home, ‘kay?”

Overall, Himeno is probably chill with whatever kind of movie you want to watch, but prefers things with comedy or atleast a comedic relief.

"you no longer have sole control over chainsaw man". do you think fujimoto could be talking about csm as a brand? i wonder if he would Fire Punchs it. like, follow through to such an extreme that he makes csm wholly unpleasant as a brand.

it's 2:30 am here so forgive me 1) if my answer isn't concise or structured or clear 2) for not providing screenshots/panels to actually illustrate my points. but thank you so much for the ask, i was actually writing about this v question in my chapter 133 analysis post that i didn't manage to save, which led me to feel depressed at the idea of rewriting it, so this is a really good like. jumping point for my larger thoughts on the matter.

so chainsaw man is a brand, yes. it's also so much more. when i talk about chainsaw man in this post (or most of my posts really), please assume that i'm not actually referring to individual characters, whether denji or pochita. you see, chainsaw man has never been an actual person, or even a persona/identity. chainsaw man is an idea, a concept that humans and devils project onto. chainsaw man is simultaneously to different people: a weapon, a messiah, a devil that needs to be put down, a scapegoat, a hero, a midwife to devils in hell, a cute plushie model, an ideal boyfriend, the only person who could ever understand makima, a foreign plot, a political talking point--i could go on forever.

so really, denji has never had control over chainsaw man, bc chainsaw man is nothing more than a mirror to others' hopes and fears! and similarly, pochita never had control over chainsaw man either! think about how people talk about chainsaw man through all of part 1: hero of hell, chaotic force, god, monster, the only person makima could be equal with. then think about how 1) makima literally fought pochita herself, and then said he could never be chainsaw man because he did not fit the idea she had in her head 2) pochita quite literally tells denji that all he wanted was a hug, which everyone took as attacks.

and yes, this 200% fits with fire punch and other works by fujimoto that deal with identity, with public perception, with the "real self" vs your myth/image/reputation, with the question of if there is such a thing as a "real self" especially as the lines begin to blur and you don't know who you are anymore. other works of his that explore these ideas are goodbye eri (self explanatory really), nayuta of the end (kenji's inability to understand his sister's intentions and the world seeing her as nothing but a monster and threat), and to a certain extent That Genderbend Oneshot (dealing explicitly with gendered perceptions).

now to answer specific parts of your question:

do you think fujimoto could be talking about csm as a brand?

fujimoto has been clear about chainsaw man being a brand even in part 1. makima releases the info about chainsaw man defeating the gun devil, and immediately people start making chainsaw man tshirts and posters and buying chainsaws. by the time of part 2 there's merch of him on every corner, fanclubs and gameshows and sandwiches and plushies.

like, follow through to such an extreme that he makes csm wholly unpleasant as a brand.

so you know what else is omnipresent in part 2, long before chapter 133? people thinking that chainsaw man is a danger and a monstrosity and a devil that should be put down. asa expresses contempt about him in her very first chapter, some of the people interviewed in chapter 103 flat out say they think he's dangerous and needs to die (some more aggressively than others). and now we're introduced to the true scale of what's going on--a spectrum that ranges from fanatic devotees to passive consumers all the way to anti-chainsaw man protestors.... which very likely includes that one preacher. just in this chapter we've seen violence erupt between the two extremes of that spectrum! and it's likely that it's going to get worse and worse.

now i'm not saying that a world war might possibly erupt just around chainsaw man and nothing else--i'm saying it might be the spark for other longer simmering tensions: the cold war between multiple countries who were using devils as weapons long before part 1, devils becoming bolder in their attacks on humans, the horseman family conflict, a crumbling social order based on propaganda/fascist structures/absurd poverty, etc etc. add to that the fact that we now know that devils can not only take human forms, but that hybrids are relatively common (see reze, quanxi, the weapon hybrids in general, etc) and that denji himself presents as a human. fujimoto is very inspired by devilman. you know what happens in devilman? humans figure out there are devils wearing human skin around them, panic, and start indiscriminately murdering each other.

and..... the prophecy. "mars will reign" is v commonly accepted to mean that yoru, the fucking war devil, is going to see a drastic increase in power. so yeah there's gonna be war. people are going to turn on chainsaw man more and more. people are going to cling to him more and more. one thing is sure--very few might ever actually see him as denji.

i wonder if he would Fire Punchs it.

i've said it before but one of my favourite things about fujimoto is how he has specific ideas/concepts that he keeps iterating and building upon, learning from experience every time until he makes something he can be wholly proud of. fire punch was his first serialized work, it was a mess in many ways and it's clear that he recognized that and was unsatisfied about it. so even in part 1, you can already see that fujimoto was tinkering with some of his fire punch concepts and trying to execute them in a better way. but from what we have of part 2 so far.... i think fire punch was indeed the prototype, just like the sisters oneshot was the prototype of look back. part 2 has so many more parallels to fire punch than part 1 did, its nge and devilman inspirations are that much more obvious, and some of the characters are flat out plucked right out of fire punch, and just given a makeover and additional depth (coughs coughs sun and iseumi coughs). and yes, it's the fucking end of the world that's coming too.

i don't think he's gonna follow fire punch 1:1--again, fire punch was his first try at a serialized series and its plot is a mess. i've seen people complain about part 2's pacing (the biweekly breaks and the fact that folks aren't bingeing but waiting doesn't help) and call the plot nonsensical but to me it feels a lot more deliberate and thought out than part 1 AND fire punch. like he's setting up puzzle pieces that seem out of place on first glance, and then they start adding up and you see the shape of it--the SCALE of it. in any case, chainsaw man and fire punch do have key thematic and artistic differences, and their themes/ideas do not align 1:1 either. however it's pretty obvious that in some ways, chainsaw man is becoming an answer to some of the questions fire punch asked but never followed through.

.. i'm going to be honest. I GENUINELY FORGET AKI EXISTS SOMETIMES. like my brain just goes "uhhh remember denji and power's big bro" and im like "OH". if you remember my akutagawa bingo, i think you can see a pattern which can only be described as "i am so sorry but i just cannot make myself care about brooding dark-haired anime boys" 😭😭 (dan heng from hsr is one of the few exceptions) idk i really do think his story was sad but i'm also kinda like. i was too focused on other things when i read and watched csm JSKDSLASLSL. "what things" well.. let's talk about the next character on our list.

feel free to shoot me or stab me for this. but yes, THIS WOMAN IS ACTUALLY MY FAV CSM CHARACTER 😭 (along with kobeni and asa) i just love evil women! and i love well-written evil women! and i have so much to say about her. i genuinely love the way she was written and she's a very realistic character, but i am not a fan of how the csm fandom just. doesn't care about her character at all and cares only about her crimes and i'm not even talking about her basically destroying the whole world and killing SO MANY PEOPLE, i'm talking about her relationship with denji. which is, OF COURSE, bad and extremely toxic and unhealthy, especially considering that denji is a minor. however, i think seeing that as her only "personality trait" is so.. it just doesn't sit right with me. like i would be okay with people talking about everything she's done and analyzing it and going "yeah she's still a bad person even if she's well-written and deep" but i am NOT okay with people going "yeah she's a groomer and also she killed my faves :(" like. i don't know. if you don't want to interact with such "problematic" content just don't read it? though i'm gonna be honest i'm pretty sure most csm fans are very young and from what i heard, a lot of them haven't even read/watched any "dark" content before csm. me picking "they are innocent if u ignore their various crimes" is obv a joke, i definitely agree that makima is a terrible person, but also. i can't deny that she's pretty <3 and also the fact that she just needed a hug breaks my heart every time i think about it. i actually have a plushie of her too! one of the best purchases i've ever made, she stares at me with her big ol' yellow eyes and i do everything she says. thank you for motivating me to do my hw, queen.

but enough talking about my faves. honestly.. i don't really care about isagi? which actually makes me very sad bc i found him very relatable at first but then i kinda got bored? like i can't even describe his personality, i can only say "uhhh he's friendly with other guys unless he's playing football and also. uh. he likes football"? and ig that can also be very fun and i'm usually a huge fan of characters that usually act nice but also have a very rude and mean side, but isagi is just. idk, i don't really find him that interesting and those moments when he's like, busy analyzing everything and coming up with strategies.. honestly, i just skipped them JSDKSLSLS. I WANTED MORE ACTION OKAY. i think his relationship with bachira is cute though!

BACK TO MY FAVES. i would bite kaiser's head off if i ever got the chance but he's also one of my fav characters. yeah. he's so cool, i love his design sm, i need to look like him. i want to get into his head and figure out what's wrong with him. i want to squeeze him and crush him and tear him apart, but i also love him so much. tbh i don't know anything about the new chapters, but i'd love to learn more about him, it's like, at the same time, i want him to have a backstory that's a little bit (or maybe VERY) sad, but i also kinda want him to be like that just bc he can (even though i'm pretty sure it was implied that he does have a reason for acting like that). and yes, i love his relationship dynamic with ness. yeah.

reo. another fave of mine. though i actually didn't like him that much when i first saw him, but. i knew deep down that a purple boy will become one of my faves. love this gay disaster of a man, everything that happened between him and nagi was more entertaining than every single romance movie that i've ever watched. i want him to get better and realize that he's capable of doing great things without him. i also want him to become even more dependent on him for angst reasons. it's hard. and i honestly both love and hate that moment when he decides to return to nagi right after he finally started to get some character development, because YES I WANT HIM TO GROW AND I WANT HIS PERSONALITY TO BE SOMETHING OTHER THAN "if i spend at least one day w/o nagi i will die", but also it's very realistic and as someone who was in MULTIPLE (platonic) relationships that were exactly like his relationship with nagi.. that moment was very painful. in a good way. and again, i wanna look like him.

my relationship with mikoto is very hard to explain bc it's like. in theory, i'd love to learn more about him. i'd love to stan him. but also.. i'm not a fan of how the fandom pretty much makes his DID his only personality trait? maybe i'm just on the wrong side of the fandom, but i rarely see any posts about his other traits? again, i'd love to learn more bc i have a feeling that we have a lot in common, but. but yeah. i'm a huge fan of his minigram version though <3 so silly. so squishy. so funny. (honestly, me being salty that almost all convos about mikoto usually discuss his DID is so funny to me now that after three therapy sessions i've found out that i'm most likely a system SJHSJDKDLSL like bro THAT IS YOU) about "i would push them down the stairs" i mean it in a silly playful way :) like i want him to fall down and scream in a very cartoony and funny way.

Ella and I had a discussion about the latest CSM chapter and some speculations related to the warnings/rules Denji had mentioned. The first two could be related to common courtesy, but somehow I couldn't help but think that there could be something deeper/hidden in those rules... And the "thief" thing could be a subconscious manifestation from the control devil that it feels threatened that their "dog" could be taken away.

(I'm trying to make this as vague as I can to not spoil too much lol)

Of course OF COURSE! Ever since I started reading this manga, I never once again let those tiny hints slip through my head. I definitely feel like there's some deeper meaning of those 3 rules he mentioned.

The first two might look like a common courtesy, which is true. But! If they are really just a common thing, he shouldn't have felt the need to warn Asa about it, right? Because it's something people should already know. So, just like you said, I also think there are hidden "something" beneath those rules. What if!!! They keep something inside those other apartments room? This is the control devil we talk about! (ngl she still gives me chill sometimes, despite her cute figure 😭)

And I swear, something not so pleasant settled inside my guts when I saw this panel! (The parallel!!!!!)

But I also hope Nayuta wouldn't be the next Makima though, like please let her have a sincere and genuine feeling (preferably familial) towards Denji! All I want is for him to have a normal, leisure life with those he values 😭🙏🏻

And there's things that still remain a question for me, for example, Angel devil once said that if a devil died in hell, they'd reborn in this world. Which mean, the control devil is already died in hell right? So there's definitely "someone" who's stronger than control devil? Though I'm not really sure how long the time skip was before the control devil reborn. It felt like, really in a flash then BOOM we got Nayuta!

I hope it'd be explained later!
