An imperfect, but still interesting ending to a rather good show
I don't consider the ending to be perfect by any means, but I think I'm far more ok with the ending than some people are. My mind is seeing this with the thought of it being some chaotic tragedy thriller.
I think it's primarily bc most (but not all!) of the things that people are frustrated with don't bother me as much. I'm ok with New and White dying. Am I upset? Oh yeah. Especially with White. That was hard to watch because I could see where it was going and I did not like it. He did not deserve to die.
At the same time, him surviving is the most obvious choice? It's satisfying. The good people live. That's how it should be. But you know who was good and died? Non. So in a way this just parallels the tragedy of Non dying. In a typical story White would live, but I guess they didn't want this to be a typical story and I respect that.
New dying and having Phee, Jin, and Tee "survive" means his revenge failed. Frustrating for the revenge enthusiasts. On that side I was never for or against it. I'm just here for the thrill of the ride, and a thrill it was. So him dying is kind of a "well that's an interesting choice" for me @ the writers. He did take people down with him in the process, so thats a positive. Tragic brothers I guess. Though New is far less innocent.
However, was it all really a failure? The ending directly states there's a strong possibility that they never actually survived for real. They don't remember escaping. So just like Non's script, nobody escapes. So at this point, it doesn't matter who "lives". They're all victims of the narrative here.
Also with the open ending.... Yeah I'm actually 100% fine with having an open ending. It's not the way I saw an open ending be portrayed (and honestly I got scared when I saw the time skip), but ok, I guess I can work with it. It leaves a lot of questions, which... isn't necessarily a bad thing, for me. Some may want closure, but I'm ok with not really knowing what happened to them.
Now for the people who survived... Tee I'm ironically the most ok with cause I predicted he'd live. For the sake of him being haunted by his regret. I originally thought it'd be more Non dying regret since all the emotions would resurface. But him stabbing his own bf to death... yeah that works ig. That's close. Probably still plagued with Non regret too, but I get White would be at the forefront of his mind.
Phee and Jin... So if this was a typical bl they'd be alive purely for shipping sake so they'd have an endgame ship. But DFF is not a typical bl, it's barely a true bl at all. They're questionably survivors. So is it about them being endgame??? I'm not sure. Is it about them bonding over realizing how they both hurt non and so they get to be aware of non haunting them. Maybe idk. Not sure what to think about them living honestly. I kinda put them as a 50/50 on surviving.
I get the frustration though. Half of me is sad my favs died. The other half is happy at seeing chaos. The two sides are fighting and I have decided to choose that enjoyed it more.

just an assortment of random thoughts i haven't yet expressed on here:
aside from the fact that idk why they felt the need to name the village, them naming the village gives the impression that it's just one village. rather then, you know, all that's left from the southern water tribe
also, it's much larger. and there are other teenagers in it.
my bf had to pause and yell for five minutes about comedic timing because of the scene with sokka and the toddlers. he was right of course but it still hurt
the joke wouldn't have landed anyway because they're not even toddlers
why does everyone take sokka seriously in this show. does his arc mean nothing to you (i know the answer is yes)
this isn't katara i'm not going to dwell on that. it's simply an entirely separate character. there's not even a point in trying to analyze this. another win for misogyny
another thing that made my partner endlessly angry was how katara simply cant waterbend in the first scene, then successfully breaks the fucking iceberg without even being angry or anything, then goes back to not being able to bend.
so many men explain bending to katara in this. im not going to dwell on it there's no point
sokka and the ideal of masculinity get along just fine. he is in fact the ideal of masculinity. not like that was a core theme of his original character or anything
something to be said at how desperately they're trying to make all the characters as likeable as they can. i could smell these 40 year old writers sweat through my screen and i didn't like it
it's also not working because they have no idea who these characters are or what made them good characters
ozai is stupid
i'm actually going to argue that every change they made here was for the worst. all of them. zuko being conscious and talking to aang? bad. the crew being the 41st division? bad. twink jee? bad.
the thing about the 41st division was that zuko didn't manage to save them. they did die. for a show that wants to be "darker" you sure missed some of the more tragic elements of the original
speaking of which, the only moments that actually made me feel something were zuko's scenes (and sometimes iroh's). dallas liu you're a legend and an icon
katara actively killed kya ok yeah sure this makes sense
the spirit world has a thing for sokka. sokka in particular. it's funny. one might even argue that it's narratively significant. you know what never mind
they're not planning ahead At All. they took some of the most essential moments from later seasons and just threw them at us in season one. the later episodes are not going to make sense. i hope they don't get to make them regardless.
why are they going back to omashu??? sure within the internal logic of the show it makes sense, but narratively, why???? you already did the secret tunnel. mai and ty lee were already introduced. what's left of season 2's omashu episode? doesn't matter i hope they don't make it
i cannot stress enough how nothing in season 2 is going to make sense. azula is already here. zuko has already had a ton of character development. even ozai himself wasn't supposed to be here. season 1's villain is zhao!!! he's the only one we see on screen, he's the only one the characters interact with!!! it's zuko and it's zhao and that's it!!!! you're not supposed to have the whole backstory!!!! you're not supposed to know the rest of them!!! that's what makes seasons 2 and 3 work!!!!! is this just going to be 3 seasons of the same characters fighting each other???
ozai's strategy doesn't work. if you send all your forces to the north who is going to attack omashu? are you implying this was made easier because omashu's army was fighting with the north? they weren't. we saw it we were there. are you implying conquering omashu would have been impossible on a different day because the nwt would have helped them? that literally make no sense, we know it wouldn't happen. all you did was cut your military in half.

because I'm bored and due to the lack of content from the tour & on Aleksi's twitch (didn't he say he filmed material worth of at least 4 bonus videos? or does my memory fail me 🤔), I made a compilation / list of all the cute Olli/Allu moments from Aleksi's twitch streams, (because what else would I be doing with my time off 🤡) because I for one didn't expect the streams to be such a goldmine for Olli/Allu content right from the beginning 🤲 I mean, I knew they were special to each other, but to find out they're this special... 🥺💕
(and yeeeeesssss I knoooow we've been over all of these so many times already, but unfortunately I'm still thinking about these moments alright, so bear with me will you 😇 at least I'm putting it behind a read-more for y'all's scrolling pleasure, which I couldn't have done in @sparfloxacin's askbox where I originally wanted to dump all this 🤧)
already on the first stream we had Aleksi texting Olli about his bass tracks being played on the stream and Olli answering immediately (because of course he answers his bf immediately <3) and Olli telling Aleksi how good his stream looks (because of course he went to look at it immediately <3) and communicating with the stream / the viewers via Aleksi by asking if they wanted a bass tutorial (because of course he'd want to contribute to his bf's new hobby <3) and then later Aleksi making a duet with said tutorial (I'm still not over how cute that was 😭)
Aleksi for some reason answering a question about Olli's gag reflex?? of all the questions he could pick from the chat, this is the once he chooses to comment on?? 👁️👄👁️ (fair enough, he probably just saw Olli's name and started reading the comment before he could help it because Olliiiiiiii 🥰💕💞)

Aleksi texting Olli about merch and looking sad bored when he didn't answer, but once he did, the biggest smile spread on Aleksi's face 🥹 (and then he immediately changed the subject because he probably realised he let his crush show a little too much 😭), and wasn't this the one where Olli gave him a call mid-stream? because I guess Olli didn't have anything better to do than discuss merch ideas with his bf and that's just what they do apparently, just spontanously call each other whenever aaaaaaaa boyfrieeeeeeeendssss 💞💖💕💗
Aleksi talking about Olli's socks that "somehow" ended up in his suitcase? uh-huh yeah sure, how to say I'm fucking my bandmate without saying I'm fucking my bandmate 😌
then there was the spooky stream which I'm also still not over, tragically 😩 I'm just so weak about the fact Olli was Aleksi's first option to ask about ghost stories for his stream in the dead of night, and that Olli really had nothing else to do but join in his bf's spooky shenaningans and putting actual effort in it too (in general I'm trying soooooo hard not to overthink the fact they both chose to be texting each other about silly stuff rather than, idk, sleeping next to their girlfriends or whatever, but I guess this is completely normal behaviour for them and should not be over-analyzed)
not to mention how happy Aleksi was about Olli replying to his texts in the middle of the night, just HOW in love could they be?!? 😭
the bonus video about the remix Aleksi made in which he used Olli's guitar loop and had also named the project file after Olli 💖 (he totally didn't listen to that guitar loop over and over again thinking about Olli and how much he loves him and maybe drinking some red wine and missing him a lot and perhaps even crying a little 😭)
the amount of Olli included in that mini vlog 🥰 because they just can't stay too apart from each other <3
just in general name-dropping Olli so so often 🥺💞
did I forget something crucial? 🤔 in any case, even without shippy glasses on I dare you to argue they aren't a little bit special to each other, because how many times had Aleksi mentioned / interacted with Olli on these streams in comparison to all his other bandmates, INCLUDING the ones that live in the same city as him and with whom he thus gets to spend time even off-tour / when they're not actively making music/recording? yeah, that's right 😌

Okay, Tenth Doctor Comics Just All Really Like Turlough
Okay, maybe not "all", but Turlough is referenced in 10th Doctor comics a lot for a past companion who hasn't been referenced on television since he left.
Outside of the regular DWM comics, Doctor comic miniseries throughout the last fifteen years or so have also been produced by IDW and Titan Comics. Each had their own 10th Doctor miniseries. In Titan's case, it was well after the fact. 12 was the most recent Doctor when the comics were produced.
Starting with IDW, we have a short from one of their annuals: To Sleep Perchance to Scream. I've already posted about it, though it was a while ago. 10 has a nightmare about not being able to save his companions and several of them appear, his subconscious cycling from Sarah Jane, to Adric, Turlough, Susan, Astrid (from Voyage of the Damned), Kamelion, and Turlough again.
Adric, Astrid, and Kamelion actually did die, so 10's guilt haunting his nightmares makes sense. Since he believes he killed all the Time Lords, it would make sense if he also believed Susan was dead and it was his fault. But, Sarah Jane and Turlough are fine. Sarah Jane appears in the new series. The Doctor knows she's fine.
My best guess is that because Sarah Jane was the first classic companion to appear in the new series and had her own spin-off. People who've only seen the new series know who Sarah Jane is.
That doesn't explain Turlough, however. And he gets a lot of emphasis...
This continues in IDW's 10th Doctor miniseries, where much Drama is caused by a fake diary that the villain wants us to think is Turlough's. 10 actually goes to Trion to ask Turlough about it. The comic doesn't fucking show it.
I'm not sure what order these comics go in, but 10 at some point learned that Turlough, like Sarah Jane, is alive and well.
Then we get to the Titan Comics. The last two of the series, Vortex Butterflies and The Good Companion have companions as a sort of reoccurring theme. Sarah Jane actually appears in Vortex Butterflies, and many more are referenced.
In Vortex Butterflies:
I love that every 8th Doctor timeline is apparently canon here. But also, Turlough is basically but on the same level as Sarah Jane and Donna.
The Good Companion:
If you're wondering what Clara and Bill are doing in a 10th Doctor comic, 12 plays a big role in this grand finale, so his companions get a mention too.
Also, Sarah Jane is referenced just as much, if not more than, Turlough, but I'm not treating it like a big deal, because, as I said before, Sarah Jane is prominent in the new series. She's no longer the only classic companion to appear in it, but when these comics were published, she basically was.
So, it's not weird that Sarah Jane is so prominent in these. Turlough, however...
Also it's now weird that they never reference Tegan or Ace since they're the other two who got to come back onscreen, but that was years after these comics, so they didn't know.
Anyway, I still have this headcanon that 10, so inspired by his 5th self, is really nostalgic for 5's companions and Turlough is one he traveled with only as 5. He was the first onscreen 5 companion to have been something resembling invited into the TARDIS. (He asked to come along and 5 seemed to think it'd already been settled.). He was also the first 5 companion to get an exit that wasn't at least somewhat tragic. Adric died. Nyssa chose to stay behind somewhere and they parted on good terms, but that somewhere was a space leper colony that they wouldn't have gone to in the first place if it weren't for the Black Guardian. Tegan was basically traumatized by how violent the show was getting and 5 was devastated. Turlough didn't want to leave when he did, but he got to go home. In hindsight, after Adric and Tegan, and to a lesser extent Nyssa, who was actually given a sadder goodbye by BF so maybe her too, Turlough was the first companion that 5 probably didn't feel like he'd failed in some way.
So, 10 remembers Turlough as special, despite the show having basically forgotten about him.

Obviously without saying who they are because it would be too spoilerly, do you have any characters that at one point you considered killing off (like how you killed off Davos) but ultimately changed your mind? Soz if this has been asked before!
Hi there anon! Yeah, several characters had their arcs change from initial plan to final draft, and oops I wrote a lot about it xD
The specifics of the upcoming culmination of Jaime and Cersei's arcs have shifted a little over time, though remaining mostly the same in essentials. Buttons and Ser Pounce have always been safe, because they're based on my and my bf's cats.
At one point I considered an epilogue or prologue POV of a little bird killing Varys, which goes with one the TWQ themes being the importance of overlooked people, especially smallfolk, but I just couldn't make it work. When I discarded the idea, I straight up didn't have a plan for what to do with Varys, until I landed on the short and sweet concept of Cersei finally catching onto him and offing him.
I also changed my plans for Sandor Clegane. Early on, I toyed with the idea of him remaining with Cersei throughout Part IV, then being sent to kill Sansa with Ser Lyn Corbray early in Part V. Sandor would have turned on Ser Lyn, with both of them dying near to Sansa's camp before being found. The general concept was of a bad person/collaborator being able to make a good choice, in the end, even if he didn't get rewarded for it. Dying in a noble way would not redeem him, because one act cannot wipe out thousands of bad ones, but at the same time, it still matters. Much as I liked the idea, TWQ is already so crowded, and once I sent Sandor off to the Westerlands in Part III, I just didn't bother to bring him back. The choices we make and the importance of having the freedom to make them is still a huge theme in TWQ, as is exploring what redemption means, but I ended up exploring those concepts in other ways.
Shireen is incredibly sad and doomed in canon, and she was also going to die here. I ended up changing my mind, because 1) she almost ALWAYS dies in fics unless they're fluffy, and the poor girl deserves a life for once, and 2) my version of Stannis ended up being tragic and misguided, but not horrible enough to actually go through with burning Shireen. He flinched at the last second, and died in her place.
Myrcella and Tommen were originally supposed to live. At one point I considered Myrcella running away with Trystane, with her golden shroud being a wedding veil, and Myrcella being only metaphorically "dead" to the enraged Cersei, who disowned her. Ditto Tommen, who would have given up his crown in defiance of Cersei and then become a holy brother. I like the kids! I wanted them to survive, to defy the valonqar prophecy.
But. As the story went on, I reconsidered. The valonqar prophecy is central to Cersei, whose obsession with power prevents her from seeing that the way to avoid the prophecy could have been by giving up power. If her children didn't have golden crowns, perhaps they would not have golden shrouds, etc. Cersei's incestuous affair with Jaime was always going to doom herself and her children; they were born on a fraying tightrope, and their fall was inevitable. Their fate had to lie in Cersei's hands, because she sees her children as extensions of herself.
Letting Myrcella escape just because she's innocent and I wanted to spare her felt like a cop out. Further, given her and Trystane's youth and inexperience, a successful escape felt very implausible, and with feudal politics, there was no way in HELL that Team Aegon would let them marry. In ACOK, Cersei was willing to kill herself (and Tommen, in the show) rather than be taken captive and executed by Stannis. The more I thought about it, the more it felt right that Cersei might try to "spare" Myrcella similarly (while also trying to take out Aegon in the process). As for Tommen... well. Cersei's desire for power is so destructive that she (accidentally) destroys her last child, whom she loves, rather than allow him to surrender power and live in obscurity.
Lastly, the deaths of Myrcella and Tommen were necessary not just for Cersei's arc, but for Olyvar and Sansa's. There is no "nice" regime change, no bloodless invasion where the prior royal family gets to retire to a nice quiet little life because the new rulers are soooo good and pure and merciful. No, Olyvar and Sansa didn't personally kill either child, but their actions still led directly to their deaths, a mirror to the canon deaths of Rhaenys and Aegon and a parallel to the TWQ sacrifice of the decoys Jonquil and Gawaen.
There is always a cost, a price paid in innocent blood. Sansa saved Elia, and Elia saved her kids, but the decoys still died. Elia didn't intend for them to die, of course, but their deaths were a result of Elia's decisions, regardless of her good intentions. Good people can be selfish, good people can make mistakes. The "less important" kids died so that Rhaenys and Aegon could live, and Elia bears the blame and guilt for that, and for the subsequent death of Ashara Dayne. But awful as it is, Elia would still make that choice again, because the lives of HER kids matter to her more than the lives of Jonquil, Gawaen, or Ashara.

I was wondering, do you have a ranking for Kotone ships? I assume Shinjiham is number 1, but I'm curious since you mentioned you liked them all
HMMMM maybe? I mean like I pretty much like all kotone ships since I'm biased and I like her althoughhh honestly some ships I just see more on platonic side but I salute anyone that ships her with a rare pair (provided its just not something entirely weird or borderline illegal lol)
Anyway, here's pretty much my ranking and thoughts for each ships lol:
1) Shinjiham - First of all, god Atlus doesnt FUCK AROUND with his SL route and it's so out of their fucking mind for Atlus to not let the girlies write for the romances in other persona ever again cuz WHAT THE FUCK???? They really fucking cook with his and Ryoji's SL its fucking sweet yet so tragic I just cant fucking take it anymoreeee 😭😭😭 and it fucking hurts me that even when you ended up not dating him, you can clearly see just how in love he is with Kotone like fuck man it hurtss
I am just such a sucker for the broody bf x cheery gf trope but they had me in my tits when they laced it with angst it had me bawling by the end of it. I really appreciate how in femc's route we finally get to see his true character like god before P3R we really only know him as that mean looking guy with a tragic broody past and he tries to make things right before its too late but we dont also see him trying to be better other than tiny mentions of it so when he is gone we dont feel bad other but P3P hooo boyyy shits fucked me up I miss him I miss my wife and even when I get to save him, even when he finally gains the reason to survive and have meaning to live, when the person that gives him that reasoning is gone, it fucking hits me like a truck man and that truck decides to reverse and run me over again. Absolutely spectacular shipping 11/10 dont fucking do that ever again Atlus I have inherited hypertension from my dad
2) Akiham - This is actually my initial otp before I blasted and fried my brain with foolmoon content. I was actually surprised to see this side of Aki where instead of him looking like he gets thing under control and cool all the time, he is just so clueless socially and every rank of him had me go "Holy shit he's autistic he's just like me frrrrr" like I didnt expect him to have awful social cues like me hskskssksk I also love how really cute the entire rank is like this boy is 18 and never dated anyone yet he is so sweet and thoughtful I almost forgot he probably learned this from the seventeen magazine in his room lmfaoo I love them they're the most tamed yet cute pair but also bittersweet and sad thinking that he lost everyone that he loves even after he proclaimed he will protect her ugh im in painnn
3) Theoham - I love how silly the entire route is! Its fun and relaxed and oh god what is up with everyone with white hair has autism in this game??? His lines are fucking bonkers it had me in tears and I cant even believe this man also manage to make me feel things about exposing one's hand after seeing it gloved for so long. Again Atlus please let the girlies cook again for the new persona i am begging you
4) Hamugis - idk if it was Atlus intention or not to make her pan but god I love this so much! Her entire route is her adjusting to being human and gaining human emotion gradually and I just really think its so beautiful when she said she doesnt even care if Kotone's a girl or a man she will still love her (Im sure she really meant it to be platonic and she pretty much mixed romantic and platonic but also that confession at the roof doesnt help at all I genuinely think she's in love with femc) and towards the end when she cried I can hear how human she is briefly like oh god I cant believe Atlus invented yuri
5) Yukaham - they're besties and she mentioned she wants a bf before okay whatever BUT I just refuse to believe she's into men honestly and she probably just wants a bf because thats what she believes girls should be (like obsessing over boys and such) and shes a girly girl so she should like boys, right?
Im not forcing anyone my HC at all so just ignore this if you want. Im writing this because the worm in my brain tells me to do it and i am also projecting myself here but like I just like the idea of Yukari feels conflicted about her sexuality because she's a girly girl and her liking girls doesnt fit the status as a girly girl but when she meets Kotone and she is feminine and likes girls stuff too but also a tomboy and doesnt really care much about the identity of being a girly girl and finds herself enamored towards her, she admits to her one day that she's having conflicted feelings about her and the other girls she finds oddly attracted to and Kotone's probably like "You should try to kiss me and see if you feel anything about it" and AKXHEIQPAUSQPAJQL oh god the thought of Yukari not knowing she's a lesbian and struggling to accept her identity as a lesbian is just so AAAAAAA i need more Yukaham content maybe I should draw them together
6) Mitsuham - I totally understand people's vision with Mitsuham. Actually at this point, you guys can see how Kotone brings impact to everyone in the team and towards the end of the game, everyone either finds a meaning to live or finally able to open up to each other but anyway shhh lets ignore the overall grim lore of this game and just focus on Mitsuru as a person instead. I really love the idea that Kotone introduce a lot of new things to Mitsuru since despite how rich and influential she can be, due to the responsibility and burden she has to hold at a very young age, she didnt get to experience what life is as a normal teenage girl so I just love the thought of Kotone teaches her what it feels to be a normal teenage girl like and gives her a glimpse of what it feels if she wasn't a Kirijo in the first place. Again, just a HC but like I think it would be so fun of Kotone and Mitsuru just sneaks out at night after she convinces her to forget her responsibility for a moment and loiters around town until it's the dark hour and Mitsu just freaks out because she was too distracted by having fun and being distracted by her duty and she was like I cant afford being normal, not in this world and not when she bears the name of Kirijo and oh god did I accidentally turn this into angst???? ANYWAYS yes I understand Mitsuham
7) Ryoham - Okay I have to admit, as much as bittersweet and tragic their whole relationship is (like the fuck as going on in Atlus' HQ when they wrote "Please touch me. Make sure I exist." Like ????) I'm just not into Ryoji much because of a personal reason but also like I love it when people draw them in an alternate universe where they meet again like I really believe in another life, they really do would fall for each other again ;w;
8) Juntone - Honestly I just see them as platonic but I saw this one Juntone shipper on twt before and I cant stop thinking of them whenever I have to think of this pair. Like okay shh imagine if Kotone isnt dead in the end but both of them still lost Chidori and Shinji, I know they both understands the pain but like if lets say they find confort in each other and down the line they do fall in love, I just think its really beautiful. Maybe not immediately but when years later theyre reunited and open up about their grief and still having a hard time to move on, I know they would clung on to each other just to feel absolutely alright because nobody can understand the circumstances they fall into.
Anyway, that's pretty much my ranking. I really do love and understand why people would love her with other pairing like I am all game but the ones I am pretty much very obsessed with is Shinjiham and Akiham while the others are more of an afterthought to me.

I can't even figure out whose character/POV I was most into in that fic. it's got to be a tie between micah and linda but something was so REAL about angella and her depiction is so true to what she was like in the spop show
thank you! angella is a complicated figure tbh, like she loses her temper and yells at her child (who yells back, but can you blame her) and shes quite cold to Adora at first but reasonably so, and she's also usually so calm and composed when her anger hasn't risen. idk she's got layers and i usually prefer to honestly "watch her reactions from afar" rather than be in her POV, but she had to be a part of the interlude in both ways.
(sidenote, but part of her Whole Deal in the show is obviously the loss and trauma of Micah's death and the war as a whole, so that's dialed back in most modern AUs, but in the back of my head i was like "oh, to emulate it somewhat her parents had a tragic death in this AU" but that's not something that'll ever appear in text XD)
Angella and glimmer still fight, but micah is also very good at diffusing the situation, adora just lowkey panicked the first time she saw it thinking she was back in a home Like That again, only this one was better at putting on a front. she gets uneasy every time they fight until pretty much the end of senior year. like it takes her two years to really be comfortable, and even then it can still hit her.
well i almost wrote three scenes from micah's POV before remembering to spread things out more so i guess him by default LOL. listen i just love his Soft Dad Vibes in this au (and canon, but he doesn't have the same trauma in this au he has in canon) and i don't get to play with him a lot.
That said, I really liked writing Linda and Rose's POVs and just slip in mentions of how they think of each other to flesh out that dynamic. It's something I can pretty much do whatever I want with since they aren't in the show.
yall really just love a milf huh 😂 honestly when i was coming up with linda and rose's personalities i was like "rose is going to be soft like scorpia, but like turn it up to 110%. maybe she even cries over her houseplant when it dies" (even if scorpia's generally a softie, she did try to kill people with no remorse on multiple occasions lol) and "linda is going to be where scorpia gets her goofy, loyal, sweet of heart and dumb of ass side". they're their own people, but i built them out in reverse from scorpia because they are the ones who raised her and thus shaped her.
and of course they're head over heels for each other, so as far as rose is concerned linda's hugs can cure absolutely anything, and linda is absolutely smitten with how sweet and kind rose is and thinks she could solve world peace. and of course they both love scorpia to no end.
unfortunately bow isn't really getting a lot of airtime in this fic because while he is around, he isn't around as much as Everyone Else who has been seen so far because he doesn't live with any of them (and doesn't sleep over nearly as often as catra does). the focus of that interlude was very much family, so their friendship didn't show up much. he just didn't end up getting a lot of scenes in the fic because there's not many bfs scenes in the fic, usually just catra/adora or one of them with a family member.
(all that being said, bow and adora actually have a very similar place in Glimmer's family, where they are both a part of it largely due to their connection with glimmer, but of course bow also has a family of his own. Angella and Micah would take them both in and fight tooth and nail for them in a heartbeat, but they don't really see either of them as their children, even if they're in the family. Angella is still :eyes emoji: hoping for Bow to be her son-in-law. micah is too, of course, but he's a little more chill about it 😂 He also has more paternal instincts towards Adora than Angella does, but that's because they bonded quickly while Adora and Angella did slowly. Their dynamic is a bit like what they had in slas at first tbh, but that was years past by the start of the fic).
honestly i'd like to play with bow more in this verse, but so far i haven't had any scenes i really thought of centering on him/his dynamic with the others. i still need another scene or two at the end of chapter four though, so ill think about it. no promises tho, because i already have some other rough ideas.
i didn't put bow in the character tags because i knew he wasn't going to have enough scenes to justify it. i usually need a character to appear for some nebulous percentage of the fic before i tag them, which is why a lot of my fics which have an ensemble cast only tag catra and adora because there just aren't enough scenes with the others to justify it. conversely i might have a short oneshot where they all speak a decent amount, so i tag them all even though overall they get less lines than they do in a long form au for which they aren't tagged.
hm. HM. well, it won't be part of this fic, ill say that much, because i know how i want to end this and im doing it dammit XD however, i'll keep it in mind

Okay, so, this song! Oh my goodness, it is so THEM! Although it's not my favourite style (/genre) of music, it really got me in my feels. I was a lil sappy mess, sitting in a blanket poncho/hoodie thing (I was given a cheaper version of an oodie as a v-day gift), getting all emotional because of Them.
The lyrics you've already pointed out really shone through for me. But I got sooooo emo over the "I've waited all my life for you" lyric!!!! I don't know if it's because I'm working on a Dong Sik project at the moment (👀) or something, but this song really made me think of him. It feels like these would be the thoughts he would think in an idealistic post-canon world, one where he is more at peace and is sooo desperate to have Joo Won in his life (in a very permanent way).
This song does feel desperate and I mean that as a compliment. Loving someone else, despite your history and reservations, can leave one feeling very desperate and ultimately, vulnerable. Especially if you're feeling resolute to have that person in your life. idk.... it just feels so Them. I feel like they're both so desperate for the other, even if they don't know how to articulate that into words. (but oh boy, don't they say it in a language only they speak??????)

meet Galactic. cyborg space man who i was once obsessed with, and decided to redesign because his character concept is still so perfect to me. be as nice or mean to him as you want-

[fair warning - a LOT more info. like. i released my inner obsessive and damn near wrote an entire backstory for this man and his bf (who will be drawn later dont worry)]
~ uses pronouns he/him but doesn't really have a fixed biological gender
~ stays up for weeks on end, sometimes exhausting himself to the point of randomly passing out, bc the doofus doesn't understand the importance of breaks
~ likes working on robots, and actually has a boyfriend who is a ghost in a robot body [danse, aka galactic's bf, tragically died, and met galactic as a spirit, both giving galactic an idea for a totally new and difficult project AND making him question everything he knew as far as reality went]
~ likes to play music, and actually used to be in a band. he has a unique voice and was the lead singer
~ those things floating around his head act sorta like ears. he uses them to hear, because with his head being a glass ball, it's kinda hard to, normally
~ yes, his head does actually have space in it. it's sorta like a snow globe and/or a wormhole. and if his head broke open, and it leaked out, it'd be a sort of sticky, tarry substance. basically would temporarily seal up any cracks that form on his head, like how a wound on a human would scab up
~ he doesn't mind people. in fact, he gets excited when people recognize him from his band days, or when they ask him questions involving his research. escpecially when people ask about his research
~ he acts like he's emotionless, as to not try to seem too simple as a person, but he gets genuinely excited when people come to him with questions involving robots, science, music, etc. he really is passionate about the things he loves, and could talk about it for hours on end
~ is actually really good with kids. he and danse built had two robot children, and are debating whether or not they want more. and as far as galactic [age 119] and danse [age 117] know, they're immortal, so it's not like they wouldn't have time for it

So! Things got a bit saucy between Yazzar and Minthara! But then took a turn for the tragic, and honestly, I kind of want to write fanfiction about it.
Basically, while he finds Lae'zel's ruthlessness and brutality attractive, and Astarion entertaining, Yazzar has yet to really form any deep bond with them. They're still necessities more than anything while dealing with the Worm problem. But something about Minthara, even though he only knew her for a couple days... when he peered into her mind, saw her fears, shared a vulnerable moment with her... he felt something. He wanted her to be with him, to stay with him. He wanted to be hers, in more ways than just sexually. And he thought, maybe for him, she would turn against the Absolute just as she'd turned against Lolth, and they could be free together. But she wouldn't. And in the end, as it so often is for the drow, it was kill or be killed. And for the first time, he felt sad about that. And he HATES that.
Then my bf asked me to go for a walk with him so I had some time to think about what I want to do with Yazzar going forward, cause this feels like a pivotal moment for him. I don't think it's gonna cause a shift in alignment or anything, if anything he wants to hurt people more. But I think while before he was just focused on getting the tadpole out of his head and the Absolute was just a footnote in that quest, he now actively wants to take on the Absolute and destroy whatever it really is. He wants vengeance. It's too bad the tenets of vengeance still involve helping people, that would be a cool reason to multiclass.

fuuuuuck I'm actually legit upset at how the author treated sukyun god fucking damn (rape mention)
like you get this guy who's been pressured his whole life to be perfect and that affected him in such a way that he gets anxious if he doesn't have his clock beeping at Every moment for him to go do something. he needs praise or hell think he's absolutely worthless. everyone thinks he's simply perfect specially his boyfriend who at one point explicitly says that, which ends up pressuring him even more and when they break up bc he was "too perfect" he fucking breaks down and can't fucjing take care of himself and his place is a trash dump but outside his house he still needs to keep the perfect facade and his ex boyfriend meets him again and sees how messed up and not put together he actually is and instead of being disappointed bc that's sukyuns greatest fear hes just finds it endearing and like they eventually get back together and he slowly starts to not control his life so much he stops using his watch and meets his boyfriend for longer and tries new food and gets to be spontaneous and just actually do whatever and do things he wanted to but couldn't and we'd get to see this man heal and maybe start getting along with his step brother bc both of them have been treated badly by their father in different ways and each hold a lot of grudges against the other bc of that but they're not kids anymore and they both grow from this and realize they have more in common than they think. and then maybe his work gets hectic and we have Jun come into scene and he's nervous bc hey who's this guy he's really close to my bf and like it's ok to be a little jealous and stuff but I feel like what the author couldve done was not focusing on his jealousy and possessiveness but instead on his insecurities of not being good enough for woo in and maybe yeah we get some intrusive thoughts which only reinforce to us the fact that he needs help and who knows after woo in tells him about how him and Jun are just family for him and his own tragic backstory he'll open up about his own and hey maybe he'll get some help and woo in will be by his side
and instead of a fucking rape scene we could get him snapping or relapsing and lashing out at wooin without hurting him. like fr I'm so mad that they showed his intrusive thoughts and he was clearly uncomfortable and scared and hated that he thought those things and then he just goes and acts on them. like come ON. there are so many different ways to have handled that scene without the rape. and I'm not saying they should talk in ooc ways like no, I mean he can lash out and scream and be mad all he wants!!! the thing is: his possessiveness and jealousy aren't healthy and the story should've shown us that in a less violent way (bc again, he's not a bad guy to be doing atrocious things like this the only other sexual assaulter was kwoni and the assault scene was very explicitly negative) . if he doesn't want to hurt woo in then he shouldn't have!!! lock him out of the house kick him out don't let him in throw him out!!! don't fucking rape the man you supposedly love!!! what I seriously don't understand is if that rape scene was NOT romanticized, then what the fuck is going on??? is woo in gonna end up with the man who raped him??? so there's no way it WASN'T romanticized. the whole "he couldn't control himself" bs we see all the time in shitty stories. the important point here is that he's not supposed to be a bad person. but how am I supposed to believe that now???? fr his whole character is ruined after this there's no turning back this was literally one of the worst writing decisions I have ever seen (I say this bc this webtoon is fr one of my favorites and I wasn't expecting something like this when yoonseol and jungsoos arcs exist within the same media!!!!!! aaaaaaasgrghegehdg)
he actually reminds me a little of seo-an from the golden palace although their circumstances are a little different (and seo-an isn't a rapist) like idk sukyun could take a leave off work and try to heal from all this fr that man needs professional help. I really thought the main point of his arc would be "he needs professional help" but instead hes just so flat. he's so fucking flat it's ridiculous.

yes his name is orange like the fruit and his hair is pink yes it's intentional 💗
so he first started as just a blank slate w some friends for ocs in a group called fruit salad and theyre all named after fruits, its grown a lot since then and so has orange
fruit salad is basically just like a group of these outcast kinda ppl that gathered together to be gay and do crimes, very hedonistic with no real heirarchy or structure other than saying they're in the group
in early stages when i made him, orange was pretty chameleon-esque, changing his fashion and personality to fit any situation, not getting attached to anyone or anything. also super flirty and horny bc why the hell not, i can make any ocs i want
he didn't get a ton of development until starting around? august 2020? when i started writing him w friends more, shipping him w friend's ocs and everything, figuring out his tragic backstory™️ and all that
he has 2 'main' bfs, strawberry and uno, both made by my friend @masterwizardsylthfarn
strawbs and uno respectively. strawberry is a very unethical bunny boy doctor and uno is a once-dead-but-now-not-really-dead-mostly assassin. basically he died once, but he's fine now. don't worry about it. (uno is also the older sibling of my oc two, bc we thought it'd be funny)
their rships started as p much fuckbuddies with orange, and development and feelings happened between each other and eventually all 3 of them
since being with them, orange's personality and perception of himself have solidified a lot. he used to be really fluid in identity, expression, attitude, everything, but he's gotten a lot more comfortable and almost kinda sorta settled down with them, even if he still has emotional blocks and can't say the love word
i also have ships with orange w my friend nova's ocs hayato and pierrot, with my own ocs including peach, venus (both of those rships being in the past for them), basically any other members of fruit salad since they almost all mess around w each other tbh, and i have uhhh multiple aus w orange with different ships and stuff with friends
overall hes been infecting my brain for a couple years and has grown a lot and i love this terrible troubled man

Kristoph wears his smile like he wears his suit: with a handsomely deceptive ease. Truly, he’d prefer to be in his office, doing research, or perhaps keeping an eye on his targets… but alas, networking is a must. Especially when you have things to hide, you want people to like and trust you. Even if he likes none of the people at what is proving to be a rather boring event.
Well, perhaps there is one.
During a lull in the socialization, he glances over at you with a glass of red wine in hand, humming lightly under his breath as he appreciates the way your new suit compliments you—he’d chosen it well. He lets you catch him staring, calculated and in control of the situation.
“You’re looking particularly handsome tonight.”
Your face flushes, eyes averting toward the gleaming badge on his lapel. “Ah, well, thank you. It’s all thanks to you, really, with this generous gift.”
“Oh, it was nothing.” He leans closer to you, voice dropping to a low purr. “It was as much for myself as it is for you, my love.”
His eyes crinkle slightly at the double-meaning as he pulls back, pleased by the flush that seems to creep up to your ears. It’s almost endearing how easy you are to fluster in casual situations, compared to your competent courtroom persona.
Almost.
“Bruder! I didn’t know you were going to be here… and your freund, too.”
The corner of Kristoph’s lip twitches at the sound of his brother’s voice disrupting the pleasant moment, but he smooths out his smile as he adjusts his blazer. Yet when he turns around, he notices him looking at you with that pitiable look. One-sided adoration… how tragic.
Ah, yes, but that was also part of the reason he chose you, wasn’t it?
Unable to bite back the smirk from tugging at his lips, he raises the wine glass to them as he lets you give his brother a small wave. He lets the awkwardness sit for a moment, reveling in the delicious tension it provides. Carefully controlled, just as he’d helped make you aware of his brother’s feelings only after you’d begun dating.
You feel bad, guilty, even. It’s written all over your face. Is it always like this at the prosecutor’s office when your paths cross? Curious. Still, he can’t help but wonder if you would’ve been at this event with his brother had he not decided to develop this little contingency plan.
“But of course, Klavier.” He lowers his drink, smile relaxing as his tone grows tighter. “I was under the impression that you had practice tonight, though? I’m pleased to see that you have the correct priorities this evening.”
He wears his aggression more subtly, carefully stitched in with the thread of backhanded compliments and veiled disappointment.
Klavier’s smile falters as he looks away, hand coming up to touch his hair. “Ja… well, practice was cancelled due to a couple of our other members catching a stomach bug.”
“Ah, is that so?” he asks, eyes closed in one of his signature frigid, displeased smiles. “Still, I am glad you were able to make it.”
“…And I’m glad you’re here tonight, too,” you add, although he notes that your smile is still slightly strained.
Ah, such a genuine expression of kindness. Truly, you were too kind and far too trusting. Not that he’s going to complain about either of those traits.
His brother perks back up with that, a smile returning to his face as he plays with his hair. “And I’m glad to be here, too. It’ll be sehr gut to spend some quality time with the two of you this evening.”
“Perhaps later.” Kristoph places his hand on the small of your back. “For now, my partner and I have some other individuals to make sure we visit with before the evening is done.”
“R-Right, of course.”
You let out a small sigh of relief as he guides you away from a rather dejected Klavier, off to chat with some other up and coming defense attorney he spotted across the room.
Casting a glance over your shoulder to make sure you’re out of earshot, you give him a small smile. “It seems I have to thank you yet again, Kris.”
“It was my pleasure. I’m sure the awkwardness will subside in due time… with some distance, of course.”
“I hope you’re right.”
He raises his brows at you, expression slipping into a playful smile. “Oh, I always am. I believe I recently made that abundantly clear in court.”
You roll your eyes at his call back to the recent case he’d managed to turn around from right under your nose, but let out a light chuckle. “Point taken.”
There is no ‘later’ that evening, as the two of you talk with other prominent lawyers at the gilded social event.

not at all nonnie, not at all. First, have you read ATOM? I beg of you to read it if you have not.
Second, have you seen the excessive use of the PA since october 25? i believe a pic and/or video has been posted of him about 23 times in just about 4 weeks. That is up from 0 in the 5 months that preceded it. w is only required to be held out as the fake bf if cc is on.
Did you watch the recent interview c did? first it is brilliant so you should watch it. and then he said this;
It is unfortunate that for some people you want to apply that phrase “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” to the mental side of things too. halloween when they set up the perfect SM riot. They started with the release of pics with CC in the background, proving to the haters that they in fact our friends and then 2 weeks later, AF posted a pic that included C and PBB but no D.
they are absolutely still going strong and i would say pay attention to the details, but at this point, you don’t even really need to look that close, it is incredibly blatant.
