Just an observation here but why is that the only people we’ve seen on lmk turn into a full out demon are in the past? I’m talking about Ao Lie and Kui Mulang. They turned into fully physical beings. Everyone else has a spirit demon form that hangs over their shoulders.

those mk & lloyd parallels got HANDS, any new thoughts on that or their interactions? (maybe save this ask till after the special, cuz uh... something occurs)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i hear you and i see you ok 😭😭 its just that these past 2 weeks have been incredibly busy for me and also lack of motivation 🫠
but i just got covid so perfect excuse to finally think about this 😭 problem is that i mightve forgotten alot about lmk at this point so bear with me 💀
i think this mightve been mentioned in like previous posts but lloyd and mk just training and like talking about life would be very special to meeeee!! id love to see how our 2 protags of east asian inspired lego shows would interact!! idk they could go get therapy together because they are both very messed up theyd ask each other to seek help and then say nooo im fiiinee, bonding over secretive mentors me thinks like why do they do they keep secrets all the time!!! like idk id love a swap au between these 2 they r very interesting to me.. also both of them getting betrayed suckss. they could learn somthing from each other like lloyd is more wise in like the master wu sorta way and i think mk could teach him to let loose a little.. also they can both go apeshit mode hehehehehe i think ive already mentioned this in like another ask
..
i think red son would remind lloyd alot of him when he was younger like idk they try so hard to be evil but they got that goodness in them yk 😔😔
i think that applies to kai in the hotheaded sense like hes grown so much since he was 15 and i think hed want to help red son in the way he helped wyldfyre as well
..
lloyd: so yeah my great grandma is like a dragon..??
nya: and i turned into a dragon once!!
mei: thats sooooo cool my great great great great great great thousand times great grandpa was a dragon too!! do you guys wanna see my dragon!!!!
*lloyd and nya expecting some tiny dragon like riyu or chompy*
and then mei whips out her totally cool kickass dragon and they are both in awe like teach me how to do that!!!!
..
im pretty sure sandy is the builder of the time right?? there are so many builder characters in ninjago like pixal, jay, nya, sora, zane and i think they could probably geek out about it hehe
zane probably also knows about jttw since he knows like everything about everything yk i think he would listen to tang talk about it zane's sweet like thattt and tang can finally talk to someone who knows the full story 😭
..
one time someone asked about morro and macaque and like i still dont really know how to answer that like theyve both died ig thats cool 😭 shared trauma on dying lol, and also they were both like evil at one point and i guess reflecting back on it theyve both been like what was it all really for
..
ive said this before and ill say it again jay, mk, mei and maybe wyldfyre would totally go do some dumb shit together and get in trouble together 😭
..
and thats all i have maybe i'll think up something in the future? who knows!

Drink/monster headcanons for the lmk characters.
@crowboss-whore hey look what I made
MK- MK is a simple guy. He loves sweet drinks with enough sugar in them to give the average guy a cavity. Fruit punch, soda-pop, caprisuns. He drinks them all. He also drinks a lot of energy drinks to try to stay awake throughout the day. With all of his training, partying with Mei, and work, poor boy is running on 3 hours of sleep. As for monsters, he loves mango Loco and sunrise, he's a fruity guy what can I say. He doesn't like the lemonade one, saying it's too sour for his (sugary) tastes
Mei- big big energy drink fan. She drinks a fair amount of tea, but mostly sticks to energy drinks. She and Tang both get together and drink tea and energy drinks in the mornings, talking about whatever they want. If you think MK is bad when it comes to energy drinks, Mei is so much worse. She'll chug a bang ten minutes before she goes to bed and then be shocked when she's not tired. As far as monsters go, she loves white dragon tea and pipeline punch.
Absolutely the type to make battery acid out of the monsters she drinks, and often does. She once stayed up for 3 days straight because she drank so much caffine, and then passed out for a full day.
Red son- his favourite drink is Mexican hot chocolate but you'll never hear him say it. Whenever he's asked, he says he just drinks water, but Mk and Mei both know the truth. He also really likes warm milk, or any sort of calming, warm drink. He doesn't care for most teas, but he is a fan of the tea sandy makes.
He doesn't actually care for energy drinks! Caffeine gives him anxiety, so he tends to stay away from them. He'll have a sip of whatever Mei and Mk are drinking though. Once he took a drink of Mei's battery acid and the man was FLOORED. He had to sit down for a little bit to process all the sugar he just had. Super wary whenever Mei offers him a drink of something because of it.
Sun Wukong- HATES CARBONATED DRINKS, this is the hill I'll die on. He absolutely let's all of his carbonated drinks go flat to drink them afterwards. Everyone hates him for it. He loves peach anything though. Peach tea? He loves it. Peach juice? His favourite. Pea h pop? Again, he'll let it go flat but he loves it.
MK once gave him a peach monster and wukong almost choked on it because it was carbonated. He loves the rehabs, and his favourite is the peach tea one, no one's surprise. He's a big fan of white peach calpico, and has it stocked up at his house. He also had a bunch of sparkling water at his house. You know, the kinds that taste like static? He'll open them, let them go flat, and then drink them. He says they taste great. I will let you do what you please with this information.
Macaque- This man. This man is a menace, he might even be worse than Mei. He lives off of caffine is constantly downing five hour energies. He once filled up a 32oz cup with only five hour energies and chugged it. For reference, it would have around 16/17 five hour energies in it, and around 3,200mg of caffine. He doesn't remember the next two days. He also loves monsters, he says his favoufite is the black (cherry) but he's a LIAR. his favourites are the peach and he goes to great lengths to hide it. He does really like the black (cherry) and drinks it a lot because it's on brand for him.
Aside from his caffeine addiction he says he doesn't have, he's a big fan of soda-pop! He likes the way carbonation feels. Big fan of Dr pepper. Big fan. He'll drink basically whatever he can get his hands on, but he hates those aloe Vera drinks. Hates them. Especially the ones with chunks in them. He thinks they're gross and slimey and would rather die than drink one.
Tang- Caffine runs through his blood. He drinks so many monsters every day. He knows everyone by their taste alone, and is especially fond of pipeline punch. Started drinking the peach monster after he found out Wukong liked it. He rivals only Macaque in his caffine consumption. The two regularly text each other about new energy drinks they enjoy, and recommend other drinks to each other.
He drinks a fair amount of tea, and acknowledges that he shouldn't drink so much caffeine, so he's trying to stop. Sandy makes him lots of teas, and some of his favourites are herbal teas and black teas. He adds honey to his tea! It helps with his throat since he does so much talking, telling Mk stories about the monkey King.
Pigsy- He's an old man, alright? He likes his teas, and he's fine with that! He and Sandy both get together to share teas with each other, and try the new tea sandy makes! He's not a big fan of caffeine anymore, and knows the stress it can put on your body so he does his best to make sure Mk doesn't drink too much caffeine.
Sandy- To no ones surprise, Sandy drinks a lot of tea! Caffine and carbonation hurt his stomach, so he tends to stay away from most pop and emergy drinks. He's the one who tries his best to get everyone else to drink water and not drink 3 monsters on an empty stomach (mei).
Nezha- nezha drinks a lot of tea! Tye celestial realm doesn't have a whole lot of modern drinks, so he's used to drinking tea. However. When he got some downtime with Mk and Mei? They introduced him to Boba and energy drinks and all sorts of other modern food and beverages. He is now hooked on energy drinks and drinks over a thousand milligrams of caffine a day. It doesn't even affect him that much. He just likes the carbonation.
He's a big fan of ramune! His favourite flavours are the ginseng and yuzu ramune. He also drinks a lot of energy drinks, like Bang, monster, redbull. He's the king of mixing several energy drinks with a five hour energy and chugging it. Absolute heathen.

LMK Heirs AU
P much it’s an AU built around my off-on hatred for Guanyin and how the pilgrims handled Red Son in JTTW (which iirc there were in-world consequences for but I’m too attached to Red to not want to give him a better fate than getting stabbed and taken away from his parents)
Tl;dr of it is that after the Journey was a success, everyone (the Demon Bull family, Ao Lie’s family, the pilgrims, and Wukong’s troop from FFM + Macaque) all live happily in Tianlong Palace. The heirs (Red, LXJ, QXT) live out peaceful lives with everything they could ever ask for.
Not S3 or S4 compliant since me & my friends wrote this pre S3’s CN release
There are some other changes for some chars.
Macaque
He didn’t die!!!!!
When he went to confront SWK + the Pilgrims, he didn’t get murdered after being stopped at the Buddha’s Monastery and instead Guanyin gave him some cursed Bling
Said cursed Bling, by SWK’s request, only activates if Macaque tries to attack him and even then he’ll only go boneless
After that he was sent back to FFM to protect Wukong’s troop
Once the pilgrimage was done and the palace everyone lives at got established (Tianlong Palace), Guanyin named his as SWK’s guardian and said that if he protects SWK for a full five centuries then he’ll be free of his Bling
He’s salty ofc but he isn’t really mad-mad at SWK abt the whole ‘you abandoned me for this?’ thing because it got explained to him civilly
Mei / Long Xiaojiao
Born waaaaaaaay earlier to match the others
More dragon than human for this AU, so dragon tale and horns and all that good stuff. It also means she’s marginally more powerful than she was in S1 and S2 but not quite S3’s True Samadhi Fire power up
Because she’s closer in lineage to Ao Lie (WHO IS SO BABEY???), she’s Ao Xiaojiao (but still Mei otherwise, 100% named by Ao Lie)
More natural direction + utilization of dragon powers w/o the sword, trained by Ao Lie & his brothers
MK / Qi Xiaotian
Not really sure why he’s here actually, I never thought that far??? I know there’s something abt him being a baby stone Monkie in S4 so maybe that??
Like Mei/Xiaojiao, he’s Sun Xiaotian :muscle: and also has a more innate connection with the Monkey King powers (but no staff, RJB is still w SWK)
MONKIE TAIL
Miscellaneous
the Pilgrims have a mix of like Tang, Pigsy, & Sandy’s personality and OSP’s representation of them
Red Son/Hong Hai’er has the True Fire still because S3 wasn’t out back when I wrote this but it also might be split? Acc to a personal headcanon of mine + my close friend, he and Mei have the Positive and Negatively True Fire respectively which connects them On A Different Level
Plot is essentially that the Pilgrims get antsy staying for too long & go Journeying To The West for a while, DBK + PIF are handling an issue on the east coast, and Mei’s parents are visiting Lie’s family. While the palace is left to MK, Mei, and Red (and a reluctant bodyguard Macaque), shit gets real while they’re away (like corrupt ‘ministers’ and wrongly imprisoned monkey men, etc)

I just decided to post here some illustrations for chapter 1.3 from my Wattpad fanfiction, because DeviantArt don't want to promote them :(
Tumblr media
Not noticing anybody and anything around, Satomo was rushing through the whole of Kyoto. It was reported that his wife's wellbeing had worsened during giving birth, and he was in a hurry to the hospital to be with his beloved in the hour of need. He reached the hospital, wanted to walk in the ward but he wasn't allowed to come in. The conclusion was obvious — something really serious was happening. Satomo decided to stay in the hospital anyway, hewas very worried about his wife. Listening to the doctors' talks and Yuki's lament, he spent several hours in the corridor. He was about to fall asleep when the door opened and the most dreadful words were said:
"We did everything that we could but... She passed away".
Tumblr media
A few years had passed. Mei Yamasaki decided to send her already 16-year-old son to martial arts courses, so that he would be not only an assistant, but also a defender. By that time, Keigo managed to get pets: Koko the chicken, that was supposed to be put in a soup, but the guy took pity on her because he fed her, and the squirrel Squeak, that simply kept up with him while walking in the park. Zed became a laughingstock in his first classes because of his clumsiness and too gentle nature. And not anyone, but Kira – the student with the highest rank among all the students of those courses – stood up for him.
Tumblr media
After reading the letter, Takeo found out the incredible truth that he wanted to share with his sister. The only thing to do was to find her first. The last time he saw Kira was at the moment of adoption by the ninjutsu master. Takeo started going around all the martial arts clubs in the city, but he could only find his sister when she was walking down the street with Zed. Seeing the guy with the tattoos, Keigo exclaimed in fright:
"Yakuza! W-w-what does he w-w-want-t from us?" And Kira came up to him and asked:
— Takeo? You?
— I finally found you, sis. — he said that and showed her his birthmark in the shape of a dragon that was curling around his left hand (Kira had the same one but on the right hand). — Do you remember how our father once didn't come to visit us? So, he explained everything here.
Tumblr media
Z: "Hi, Kira. I was passing by your mother's grave. It turns out she looks so much like you."
K: "Thank you. Dad told me that too when we went to visit her for the first time."
Z: "And how is he doing?"
K: "It's the same. He is glad that my brother and I decided to stay with him and hates his job as a fish cutter. A prosthetic little finger made out of iron knuckles and adhesive tape is ready for Takeo."
Z: "Heh, I'm sorry for your dad. If all I was doing was cutting fish, I would also wish to get out of there as soon as possible XD. I'm glad for my brother, this is better than nothing after all. But I'm very sad without you. I dream of visiting you someday."
K: "Oh, that's so sweet. I miss you too".
Tumblr media
But Kira looked even more unusual when she decided to demonstrate her chimera shape. Her hands were covered with purple scales, claws were instead of nails, whiskers grew above her cheeks and two big growths emerged from her temples. It turned out that she was not just a dragon, but an electric one. I realised that after I touched Kira and saw that my bangs stood on end.

About the current (last?) arc of AnY and going full circle
Sorry if some fans already mentioned those ideas but I’ve been rereading the current arc, because it’s been quite long and the pace has its flaws sometimes, so I wanted to broaden my perspective on the story.
First of all, as an introduction can I just say that I’m, as always, impressed by Hak’s character. He had so much cliché and shallow potential when the story started (I really used to roll my eyes at him), but he became one of my absolute favorite by how deep and strong-hearted he actually is, once he allows people behind the walls he built around him. Anyway, my love for his character & development knows no boundary. I had to say this, ok. I’ll explain why later in the post. Moving on.
A conflict of generation
If there is one thing I love about Kusanagi-sensei, it’s the feminine touch she adds to her writing. For example, when she naturally addressed periods during the Xing arc and it fit perfectly, because that’s just how her writing goes. In this arc, it shows through the initial bold move to tell us readers about the past through the thoughts and words of a character we’ve never met, that is to say, Yonhi, Yuhon’s wife and Suwon’s mother.
Tumblr media
And yet, it made absolute sense, because Yonhi was the reason behind the cataclysm that eventually led to Yuhon killing priests, as well as the falling-out between him and his younger brother, Il. All along, Yonhi was the silent but pained witness to this feud, watching as the ego of two brothers destroyed everything when none of the two backed down, leading to first Kashi’s death, then Yuhon’s murder and finally Suwon’s coup.
So, in a way, even if I think Suwon makes a far better king than Yuhon or Il, his circumstances kinda precede the logical decision to get Il out of the picture before he completely annihilated his own kingdom in poverty and war, because there is too much resentment and hatred that fueled Suwon while growing up, even if we readers know that his motivations are primarily about saving Kouka from war against the Kai Empire.
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely despise both Yuhon and Il but, unfortunately for Suwon, Yona growing up sheltered and mostly unaware of the horrible truth highlights her own decisions throughout the series to be completely selfless and wanting to own up to her father’s misjudgement, rather than trying to get back at Suwon, effectively breaking the cycle of hatred amongst the royal family.
Why the Wind Tribe kept on supporting Il when everyone else could notice that he was betting on his daughter as the reincarnation of King Hiryuu to save his country is beyond me (Mundok plz explain). Not that Yuhon was better, preaching wars, and I’m glad that Il eventually reconciled with Yonhi, telling him that he would accept Suwon’s judgement but...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...I can’t forgive him for his words.
Like Yonhi, I’d rather he would have hoped that his conflict with his brother did not reach his children than entertaining it the way he did.
Tumblr media
Hopefully though, now that Yona read Yonhi’s memoirs, she will work towards achieving that goal. Not that I have any doubt, since she never really managed to hate Suwon.
Speaking of the past generation, reading the latest chapters I couldn’t help but wonder about Yona's sad dream... could it be that she inherited Kashi’s gift? Kashi did say that she had these prophetic visions since very young which doesn’t seem to be Yona’s case, but I’ll keep the idea in mind, because it’s interesting. I mean, from Yonhi’s memoirs, it seems that Kashi envisioned that the child she would have would be Hiryuu’s reincarnation (whoever the father was going to be), so Yona inheriting the same prophetic gift from her mother would make sense.
Tumblr media
What an ironic parallel to Suwon inheriting the Crimson Illness from Yonhi if that’s the case, am I right?
Yona as Kouka’s next Queen
And by that I do not mean Keishuk’s plan to marry her to Suwon, because of her popularity with Kouka’s people. Obviously, the story always was to conclude in Yona getting her throne back and that’s even easier to imagine with Suwon’s disabling illness, but becoming a ruler is tough work and Yona had no real experience acting as a leader for an entire country.
She didn’t know much before her father’s murder and, even after she became a runaway with Hak and the rest of the HHB, she finely dealt with crises affecting some parts of the kingdom but never the whole kingdom at once, like it’s doomed to happen with the war against the Kai Empire.
Tumblr media
So I really appreciated her stepping up when Suwon couldn’t, because that’s definitely good training and we see the results in the latest chapters:
Tumblr media
To be fair, I always thought that Keishuk would be the biggest thorn in Yona’s side during this arc but, as many characters have said in this arc, he’s rather clever and honest about what he intends to achieve, which is why it’s not in his interests to get in the way of Yona if they share a similar goal.
Looking forward to her facing even greater challenges. Good luck, Yona. <3
War against the Kai Empire: there is strength in unity
The Kai Empire has been depicted as the story’s big bad for a long while now and the common goal for which Yona’s faction and Suwon’s allies could unite, but I’m glad to get more specifics and new characters to explore that part of the plot.
Namely, Mei and Vall. With Chagol, they seem like the perfect foil trio to Suwon, Yona and Hak, except that Chagol seems like a real thorn in the other two’s backs, when a strong bond still ties our main trio in spite of the sad circumstances of the beginning. I particularly love the mirroring reflection between Mei and Yona...
Tumblr media
&
Tumblr media
...except that Mei is not at odds with one kingdom but with two and that she also deals with the Crimson Illness. :/
Now that war has started, the big threat that South Kai represents will obviously be dealt with, but Kouka kingdom will need more than its five tribes to win this. That’s where I’m sure we all expect to see old “enemies” come back, namely Xing Kingdom, since Kouren signed a military agreement with Suwon, thanks to Yona and Tao. I would bet that this won’t be enough either, but Xing are the only known allies that Kouka kingdom has.
There is another “enemy” we know from the previous arc though, who have strong feelings against the Kai Empire, specifically about rulers treating their women badly and they are...
Tumblr media
...Ying Kuelbo and the Tully tribe.
The big difference between Xing Kingdom and the Tully tribe is that Suwon never met or dealt directly with Kuelbo the way he did with Kouren and Tao. The Tully tribe lost and Kuelbo ran away, betrayed and having to find a new way to take on the Kai Empire. That’s why I think the Tully tribe would eventually make for a good ally in this war: it showed good promises when Yuran and Yona got along and I think Yona understood where Kuelbo was coming from, especially now that Mei is with them and can probably tell them in details about Chagol.
Tumblr media
Not saying this will happen soon, but since there is someone who met and fought against Kuelbo, probably gaining his respect, if this person was to seek the Tully tribe to make them Kouka Kingdom’s ally on Yona’s guidance, I think Kuelbo would give it a thought. That’s right, I’m talking about Hak, who’s currently on his way with Yoon to the Earth Tribe to fetch a drug that will not be able to save neither Suwon nor Mei, thanks Zeno for spoiling us.
That’s what I meant when I said that Hak slowly became one of my favorite characters throughout the story. While the Sky Tribe seems to be taking bets on who between Yona and Suwon will eventually sit for good on that throne, there is a good chance that Hak will be one of the key players when it comes to winning that war against South Kai. Not that we should expect any less from the Thunder Beast. <3
To be very honest though, I expected this arc to be very tough for his character, because the truth behind Il’s death and Suwon’s coup would never be easily understandable to him (Yona’s own words, not mine):
Tumblr media
Yet, surprisingly he was able to at least listen and, no matter if he will ever understand Suwon’s choice or not, he decided to trust in Yona’s decision to back Suwon in the rising political issues.
In general, I love how Hak is the least bound by the past before Suwon’s coup. He did respect Il as his king, but he did not protect Yona in the beginning for anyone else’s sake but her own. Just like Kashi once asked him to always protect Yona (which is sweet since she could see the future) but, considering he never even thought about her words once in the story, it’s likely he doesn’t remember that at all, making the choice to be by Yona’s side defined as solely his own.
It’s this strength of his that eventually led him to say recently that he would go fetch that drug with Yoon, knowing that it was for Suwon’s sake (surprising Suwon himself), just like he will definitely fight for Kouka Kingdom, not because Yona wants him to but because it’s clearly his own desire (see ch211 where he let Yun go alone so that he could help the Earth Tribe fight):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All that makes Hak the wildest card of every agency in the plot, not simply because he’s strong and reliable and the biggest worry of the Sky Tribe, but because...
Tumblr media
...Yona and the four dragons will never give him up.
Through Hak, Yona will be able to assert her political weight and he will be there for her, like he always was, making it impossible for their little group to lose. What a power move, I love it.
I think I should stop there because I already rambled so much. Looking forward to the rest of the arc, it’s going to be a wild ride!!

The Smell of Plum Blossom Tea Ch 18
Summary: Just like a butterfly wing, a single act of kindness can change the course of the future, it certainly did for MK as a black furred monkey put out a hand towards him.
Rating: Teen and up
Chapter 18: Spiders, Demons, and People, Oh My!
“Just one more hour-”
“No, I’m putting my foot down you workaholic, you are shutting down and enjoying this festival with the rest of us,” Tang firmly said with arms crossed.
“But-”
“No.”
“It just-”
“Nope.”
“Sweetheart-”
“Love you too, but no.”
“Just give it up Pigsy, you know he’s not gonna budge,” Macaque called out as Wukong, in his human disguise snickered beside him.
“Shut it,” he barked back.
Tang decided to pull out the big guns as he clasped his hands together and said with wide eyes “If you don’t get your ass out of there and enjoy the festival, I will make sure you sleep on the couch for a week.”
“…fine!” He threw up his hands as everyone else cheered.
“Took you guys long enough,” Mei snorted.
“Just remember kids, threatening the couch is always a good way to get your partner in control,” the historian said with a wink.
“Don’t tell them that!” The pig demon shouted out.
“Then maybe you shouldn’t have opened on a holiday!”
“I can’t help it!”
“I know you can’t sweetheart, but this is why I’m here to remind you,” he said as he gave a kiss to his partner when he closed down.
“Awww, aren’t you both sweet,” Wukong teased.
“Can it!” Pigsy embarrassedly yelled.
“Doesn’t mean it’s not true,” he grinned to Wukong. No one besides those that already met him, knew that the monkey in disguise was the Monkey King and not just some dude called Wukong. Cause if they did, then the whole world would have shortly known by Tang fanboy screeches.
“Now that Pigsy has finally given in,” MK grinned as he ducked a rolling pin to the head, “we can finally meet up with everyone else!” He cheered as his bright purple sash, which was tied securely around his bright red changshan pants, flew behind him as Mei, who wore something similar to MK, but with a green dragon art wrapped around her shirt, charged after him.
“Man they sure are excited,” Sandy chuckled as Tang and Pigsy also followed the two children.
“Is he always like that,” Wukong asked as both monkeys slowly trailed behind them, easily knowing where the group was at all times.
“In a nutshell, this isn’t even his first time trying to work on Lunar New Year,” the other simian commented.
“I can scarcely believe it,” he muttered under his breath, not that it stopped the black monkey from hearing, as he forced himself out of his memories. “Also, have I mentioned that I’m loving the hairdo.” He smirked as he grabbed one of the two long strands from the monkey twin buns he was sporting.
“Blame Emerald, she wanted the both of us to match for some reason,” he rolled his eyes as he adjusted his bright red qipao adorned with flowers.
“I certainly will,” he teased. He was in a changshan as well, but in bright yellow that had clouds littered all around the front and he too had a sash tied around his waist, but in red. “Thanks for letting me borrow your sash by the way.”
“You would think that in your multitudes of outfits, you would have a red sash somewhere tucked in there. It’s even your favorite color,” he fondly huffed.
“I’m just as surprised as you are, I could have sworn I had one,” he lied with a smile on his face. Of course, he has red sashes, that’s his signature look, but he’s not gonna say that he wanted a piece of his friend’s clothing outright.
“Sure,” he rolled his eyes. “Well, we better catch up to them before they blow up the fireworks again.”
“Fireworks? You mean the one used during the parade?”
“Nope, I mean the ones they accidentally cause sometimes when they’re bored together,” he deadpanned as Wukong started to burst out laughing. “Not funny dumbass, there’s a reason there are now fire extinguishers at every other street lamp this time around.” He began to pick up the pace as he jumped onto a rooftop.
“Now I really have to know the full story!” He quaffed as he followed right behind.
“Not from me you're not, I swear I still have myokymia every time I think about it.”
“Man, I had almost forgotten just how good food stalls are,” Wukong said with his face stuffed with buns.
“Rethinking the shut in life,” Mac joked as he bounced the youngest of Yanyu siblings, Yuzu, in his arms.
“Oh yeah,” he eagerly nodded.
“We’ll just sit here and stuff your face, I need to hand Yu Yu back to one of her siblings,” he said as he went over to the group.
And that is precisely what he did as he continued his eating as he gazed upon the crowd of people and demons all enjoying the festival. He could see children running all around as they waved their puppet zodiac animals in the air, some couples were holding close to each other as they ventured from stall to stall, he could even see some mother, father, or guardian holding their child on their shoulders to get a better look.
“I should have come out here sooner,” he mused as he fiddled with the skewer stick in his mouth. “Really is nice out.”
“It really is, especially when the fireworks start,” he stopped when Mei finally announced her presence and sat next to him. He knew she was there and watching him, but he decided it was best if she made the first move.
“Well, how do you do on this fine night, little Miss. Stalker,” though that doesn’t mean he won’t still tease the hell out of her. He may be wary of her, but she is still vastly a child compared to him.
“Could be better, but since you're here I’ll guess I’ll settle,” she shot back and sat next to him.
“Ha, I could almost laugh, moon cake?” He held out a tray filled with mooncakes to the girl, who nodded in thanks as she took one. “They’re not as good as Moonshine, but they are pretty good.”
“The only cooks that can ever rival Pops is the chef that cooked for me when I was young and Pigsy.”
“If you say so,” he shrugged as he finished off the tray. “So what brings you around here.”
“Other than the festival?”
“Oh, that was a given, I mean here, with me as of this moment in time. I thought you still didn’t like me.”
“Still don’t,” she automatically said, “buttttt not as much as before.”
This made Wukong pause in his snacking as he looked towards Mei, “Oh? What changed? Was it witnessing my badassery? Beholding my awesomeness in all its glory? Or was it-”
“None of the above,” she promptly stopped him before he could get any more cringier, “You make Pops happy.”
“Oh,” he has to say that he was both not surprised, but still taken aback by her comment. “That's it?”
“Well, and you have stuck by his side when that creepy ass fucker showed up, so bonus points for that.”
“You should have seen Dad's face when you went absolute ham on his ass,” MK interjected as he latched onto Mei's back. “When he wasn’t all disgusted with the creep from hell, he was grinning the entire time. Especially when you landed those blows on him.”
“He was,” he couldn't help but perk up.
“Ugh, you both have it so bad for each other,” Mei said as MK nodded.
“What?!” He nervously said as he shot a look towards Macaque, who was talking to both Sandy and Yanyu, “I don’t have a-”
“You always try to go near him and cuddle a lot of time, all the affectionate nicknames, the goo goo eyes, jealousy towards Shun and your quick deflection of any mention of Dad boyfriend, stealing Dad clothing even though you had some of your own, I can go all day,” MK smirked as he listed off all the obvious ways the Sage monkey had a crush on the Doctor monkey.
“Don’t lie to us, it's so obvious,” Mei shared the same look.
It looked for a second that Wukong was going to rebuttal, but he sighed in defeat. “Is it really that obvious?”
“To everyone but Dad,” he chuckled and patted the monkey on the back.
“Greeatttt,” he groaned and put his face in his hands. “That’s just peachy.”
“Don’t worry, you won’t get too much grief over it, well at least not from us. I don’t know about the rest,” she shrugged.
“Really?” He peeks through the cracks of his hands.
“The two of us have been keeping an eye on you,” she gestured to both her and MK.
“MK, you too,” the Monkey King held a mock wounded look.
“Sorry, but I have to look out for dear ol Dad,” he scratched the back of his neck. “And to be fair, a part of me really didn’t want him to date anyone anytime soon after Shun and I didn’t know how the both of you would be like after the whole fight and everything.”
“Oh,” was all he could utter.
“But I can say that I don’t think I have ever seen Dad so happy than when he’s around you.”
“Now that’s a lie,” Wukong interjected, “You should see the way he lights up when he’s with you guys, his tail always swishes behind him when you're with him.”
“Ladies ladies, we’re all pretty,” Mei butted in before the two boys could go on to fight over the stupidest thing. “But at the end of the day, you make Pops happy so maybe you're not so bad and I guess you wouldn't be so bad as a partner.”
“It would definitely be weird,” MK couldn’t stop the images from intruding in his head.
“Thanks,” he couldn’t stop himself fondly rolling his eyes, but he paused when the implications hit him, “Wait? Did I just get your approval to court Macaque?”
“Court, who even says court these days?” The dragon successor says to herself.
“Red,” said the monkey's successor, “But yeah, you did. Though when it does happen, I’ll just let future me worry about that.”
“Thanks for the boost of confidence and approval, but those aren’t really necessary, I doubt Mac sees me as nothing more than a friend,” he gave a sad smile.
Both teenagers exchanged a look at the sheer stupidity of the monkey before MK sighed and stepped forward. “Well, I never thought I would be ever giving love advice to the Legendary Monkey King when mine is none existent.”
“Your Portay clone on the other hand is a huge flirt,” Mei called out.
“I still don’t know how that works!” He yelled back, he still can’t believe that his own clone would flirt with both of his crushes when he doesn’t even have the guts to say anything. He turned his attention back to the Monkey, “But what I can say is that you should tell him that you love him before it’s too late.”
“Kid, thank you for trying to encourage me, but I’m not going to do it,” he ruffled his child’s hair, “I don’t want to ruin what we managed to scrounge back together.”
“Dude, Pops still consider you his friend even after your big ass fight that went down in history,” Wukong’s eyes slightly widen at Mei’s words.
“Wha-”
“So, if you think that telling him would lead him to ditch you when not even physically fighting would? Then there is something seriously wrong with your head,” she bluntly finished.
The disguised monkey stayed quiet for a few more moments before grabbing both of their heads this time and fiercely ruffling it.
“Hey!”
“Not again! I just did it!”
“I’ll think about it,” he smiled down at both of them then scoped them in his arms as he walked towards Macaque. “Hey Moonlight! I saw this shooting game a few stalls back, I bet I can beat your ass on it!”
“Try me,” he smirked as he waved bye to the group and eyed the two squirming kids in his arms. “We’re they acting up?”
“Nah, just decided they needed a better view.”
“Your ass is not a better view!” Mei yelled out.
“Being upside down technically counts as a worse view,” MK shouted as well.
“What are you talking about it’s an amazing view!” He teased.
“No, it’s not!”
The black furred simian let out a laugh, “Keep them like this, Gods know it would be easier to keep an eye on them from doing anything stupid.”
“Aye Aye captain!” He mocks saluted as he held them steady and began to walk towards the stand together.
“Put us down!”
“Stop this is really humiliating!”
“Do you hear anything?”
“Nope, just little kids complaining.”
“We’re not kids!”
Everyone cheered as the parade was starting and they all gathered around in hopes to get a better look at all the different floats, with an extra cheer for their own zodiac.
“They sure are excited about the floats,” Wukong chuckled as he watched his student, Mei, and a bunch of other children stand on Sandy’s shoulder to get a better view.
“You should have seen the other year, they almost got onto the float,” he smiled as the two of them sat on a rooftop a little ways away.
“I can believe it…thanks for dragging my ass out here,” he slightly nudged him. “I really have forgotten just how amazing the festival is and spending time with people can be on this day.”
“Anytime Peaches, and if you want you can join us next year, though it won’t be in the city, but rather in the forest. We’ll be just eating round the table and lighting up lanterns with the whole forest, unfortunately not as exciting as the festival here,” he said.
“I would be more than happy to join in,” he instantly said. “I haven’t lit up a lantern in years and besides, anything with you guys is nothing less than fun.”
“Well I’ll make sure to let comet know to bring your ass around then,” he smirked as he looked up in time to see the first firework go off. At moments like these, he’s glad to have durable headphones, it was pure torture back then with ears like his.
“Yeah!” The disguised Monkey King stood up and cheered before sitting back down. “Fireworks are awesome no matter when.”
“I give it a 6/10, now lanterns on the other hand,” he said as he leaned against his friend.
“Don’t disrespect my lights like that,” he lightly shoved him before wrapping an arm around him and putting his head on his as the two of them watched the lights explode.
Everything was truly beautiful at this moment in time.
Unfortunately, the moment couldn’t last as the fireworks were cut short and before either one of them could comment on it, they heard screams and a voice that dominated.
“This is the Year of the Spiders!”
Neither monkey needed them to exchange looks before they both rushed to the scene and saw hundreds of robotic spiders spread all across, chasing and capturing people as they went.
“Shit Mind control!” Macaque cussed as he saw their eyes glow green when the spiders managed to snag someone.
“How in the fuck is the Spider Queen able to do that?!” Wukong muttered to himself as he already dropped his disguise and began to attack any spiders in his way.
“I don’t know, but I think something like that will have the answers,” he pointed to a large spider robot emerging from the ground. “At least Daiyu gonna have a real good time with this.”
“Damn, it’s like Bull King all over again.”
“I’m sorry what,” the black monkey blurted out. He heard the Bull became huge, but he thought it was an exaggeration, so he shook his head. “More on that later, I can already guess you're going to the spider robot of doom.”
“You know it,” he cracked his knuckles.
“You do that, I’ll try to find everyone else and destroy as many of these fuckers as I can,” he emphasized by breaking a few of the spiders on the humans and demons back. He summoned some clones and began to spread them out, “You better not get captured or mind controlled, I don’t feel like kicking your ass right now.”
“Trust me I won’t,” he cockily smirked as he summoned his cloud. “Be careful out there,” he yelled out as he flew off.
“I’m going to laugh in his face if he gets captured, now to find my kiddos and everyone else before I lose it” he muttered as his tail wrapped around the spider that tried to surprise attack him from behind and crushed it into pieces.
“Red!” Mei and MK rushed over to the fallen demon who had crashed land on their ship.
“That was a nasty fall you took there,” she continued as the both of them helped him up.
“What are you doing here?” MK asked once he was up.
“Escaping the Spider menace!” He hissed out to cover up the fact that his face was involuntarily heating up at his crushes arms holding him, “that Spider freak captured my father and she was going to do the same to me.”
“Shit she even captured the Bull King,” the Pig demon said.
“Yes, but luckily I know a way to cure the atrocious mind control that she had enslaved everyone in.”
“You do!” They all hopefully said.
“Yes, but I’ll need your help seeing that my own ride is currently,” he looked over towards the broken parts, “unavailable.”
“If it means saving them then count us in,” MK said determinately.
“But where are we going?” Sandy asked.
“The one place where we can only get the supplies,” he pointed upwards as everyone slowly realized what he meant.
“Space,” well almost everyone.
“No noodle brain! The Celestial Realm!” He loves him, but he can be a bit of an airhead at times.
“Fbiwbfowdjosbd The Celestial Realm! The home of heavenly deities and immortal beings!” Tang tried to go forward but was held back by his partner.
“Down Tang, down.”
“Yes,” he said unfazed, “so will you help me.”
They all exchanged looks with each other before MK stepped forward with a confident grin. “Guys, let’s help a demon steal from the Celestial Realm.”
“Macaque is so gonna laugh at me for this,” Wukong groaned as he tried to break free of the web. “So, so hard.”
“Seems there are things that even you can’t handle,” Spider Queen mocked as she stepped back into the room filled with tied up demons all being drained, some of them more tired than others.
“Can it little caterpillar!” Minsheng yelled out, they too were captured after they got surrounded. They're not as strong a fighter as everyone else, so it was needless to say they were hopelessly outgunned. “No one wants to hear you bitch! Seriously, I don’t know how Daiyu can even stand that voice!”
“You got that right!”
“I would rather die now than listen any longer!”
“Seriously just shut up!”
All the demons shouted out as they mouthed back to the Spider Queen.
“QUIET!” She yelled out in rage, “ Especially about that vulture. Lest you forget, you are all my prisoners now, you are nothing short of a battery for my darling. It’s best to remember that for the rest of your miserable lifespan.”
“I mean they're not wrong,” Wukong smirked, “You are getting really annoying.”
“I, unfortunately, can’t help but agree,” Bull King rolled his eyes at the supposed ‘Queen’ rage. “Your voice is grating enough that I wish to rip my horns from my head and seal them in my ears, but I know it wouldn’t be enough.”
“Why I outta-”
“And besides, you do know that this is not gonna work right?” Minsheng said.
“Now what are you blabbering on about now?” The spider demon was getting sick of this backtalk from these whelps.
“This plan, yeah it’s not gonna work.”
“Oh, now why is that? I suppose you mean of Monkey King protege and their needless efforts,” she smirked as she crawled up to him and leaned in close. “Well, I can assure you that those children are not prepared for my little spiders that are close behind ready to strike when they're down.” She backed up with that same malevolent smirk and was about to turn away when he spoke once more.
“Oh, I wasn’t talking about them.”
“What?” She turned back around, “Then who in the hell are you referring to?”
BOOOM! BOOOOM! BOOOOM!
A series of crashes and explosions all happened simultaneously from the outside as it only subsided for a mere moment before continuing once more.
BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOOOOM!!
“What in the hell!” She cried out as she caught herself on the wall.
“That, that is who I am talking about,” the rabbit demon said as the spider raced towards the monitor. She pulls up the screen to see a sight that even frightens some of the captured demons. Because there on center screen was a tall malevolent violent monkey with eyes that glow bright purple as it took down some of the larger spiders that have sprouted out. But what they all noticed is that the titanic demon looked pissed as he screamed.
“WHERE THE HELL ARE MY KIDS!”
“What the sweet hell is that!?” She screeched out at the sight.
“Congratulations! You have completely pissed off one enraged papa!” Minsheng smiled at her horror. “Now he will happily introduce you to your execution if you don’t do as he says.”
“What?!”
“Hah, not even I would trifle so lightly when it comes to the Six Eared demon and his claims,” the Bull King laughed loudly at her foolish actions.
Some of the demons were even nodding in agreement.
“You're telling me.”
“Even we know not to fuck with him.”
“Oof, you're really gonna get it now,” Yin laughed.
“Better hope you have some blessing saved up somewhere in that shriveled up place you got a soul,” Jin snorted, “cause you're gonna need it!”
Wukong was staring at the monstrous form of his crush in all of his crush with a slight blush and said with a happy sigh, “Oh you’re so fucking screwed now.”
“That’s Macaque!?” She shrieked as she turned and couldn’t help but give a silent gulp as each and every demon looked at her, whether they were exhausted or not, with a malicious grin.
“You're done Spider Bitch,” Minsheng gleefully said.
She didn’t say anything else as she scurried out of there and went to look for the little girl.
“Bye Bye little spider,” they called out as the door closed behind them leaving them with only the sound of mechanical parts churning and the sizzling noise of their energies being drained remaining.
“Of course you would be infatuated with the Six Eared doctor,” Bull King couldn’t help but sigh, breaking the silence.
“Oh come on, even you!” Wukong shouted back, thus putting the room in a burst of laughter as the demons, whether civilians, criminals, or anywhere in between, began to gossip like middle aged wives at the market when they spotted an old friend.
“Oooo, is that so?”
“Of course you would go after doc, he is quite the catch.”
“Tell me everything!”
“Spill the tea!”
“Now that is something I wouldn’t have guessed.”
“If you have lived as long as I have, you would have long guessed that this was a long time coming.”
“I’m surprised that it wasn’t sooner.”
“Please someone just kill me,” he groaned as the chattering just continued. “Death would be kinder at this point.”
“Sorry, but fresh out of deaths today,” Sheng laughed.
“And didn’t you get yourself like four times immortal?” Yin asked.
“Five, remember the Yama book situation,” Jin said.
“Oh right, I keep forgetting.”
“I regret that so much,” he groaned even louder, it didn’t help that even the Bull King was laughing at his misery. “So, so much.”
Somewhere high in the sky
“What the hell is that!” Pigsy pointed out the giant transparent demon.
They all looked in shock as Tang said, “Please don’t tell me that the Spider Queen made an ally!” He groaned.
While the three adults began to panic at the new situation that popped up, three people, two humans, and one demon smiled widely.
“DAD/POPS/UNCLE!” MK, Mei, and Red all yelled out as they witnessed the scene.
“SAY WHAT!” The three other adults spun towards them in shock.
“Wait,” Sandy squinted his eyes, “Now I may be getting old, but is that giant demon Macaque?”
“What/Excuse me,” both Pig and historian deadpanned.
“ It is! And he’s kicking butt!” MK cheered as the titan stomped on a hoard of spiders.
“Kick that spider ass!” Mei yelled out with a savage grin as the monkey tail threw a giant spider down and obliterated it.
“Of course this would be nothing less than what he can do,” Red smirked at the chaos that was firmly putting the wretched spiders in place.
If anyone was paying close attention, they would have seen both titan and monkey ears twitch. They didn’t move from their position, but a sigh of relief did emerge.
“Found em,” Ahmed asked after he crushed a spider in his jaw.
“Yeah, I don’t know how the fuck they got out of my radius of hearing so quickly, but I found them,” Macaque, who was puppeting his larger version, smiled.
“That’s one worry crossed off.”
“You're telling me, now all we have left is to finish off this shit,” the monkey growled as the lion kept a close watch on his back. While it wasn’t difficult to control his larger version for a short time frame, it was difficult trying to maintain both forms and making sure that there would be no excessive collateral damage. He may be angry, but even he doesn’t want to hurt any innocent people, so it was shortly decided before he began his shadow puppet that the lion would keep guard while the rest helped everyone else. He can even hear Daiyu manically laughing off in the background where there’s the most spiders and can hear the slaughtering of mechanical parts.
Back on the ship, the others were slowly freaking out.
“I thought he was a doctor?!” Tang exclaimed as he watched the monkey decimate the eight legged cretins.
“I thought so too!” Pigsy was just as confused as his partner.
“Dad was a fighter long before he was a doctor, he just doesn’t do it as often anymore. I mean he used to have sparred with the monkey king a lot,” the teenage boy explained.
“You mean to tell me this is him going easy?” The pig demon could feel his eye twitch.
“Yup!”
“I hate to see him at his peak,” the historian muttered, then he paused, “wait, he knows the monkey king?!”
“Uhhhhhh.” MK just realized what he had admitted and slowly began to back away.
“Oooo, you fucked up now,” Mei chortled while sporting a large grin.
It took a minute for it to fully sink in, but once it did, boy did Tang straighten up with his eyes blown wide as if he had just been electrocuted. “No way! No way! Is he the fucking Six Eared Macaque from the Journey to the west?!”
“Say what?!” Pigsy exclaimed.
“Maybe?!”
“Is that a question or an answer!” Tang demanded as he stalked closer to him.
“Yes!” He was officially freaked out.
“Oh this is funny,” Red grinned.
“Right,” Mei happily agreed.
“Are you saying that he is the legendary deity that managed to help so many lives, but he is also the enemy of the great monkey king and I am just now learning that I’ve been hanging out with that same legend and dneirbowdubeodosbsudbksd!” The book loving man's mind has been blown as his words have long passed him.
“Great, you broke my partner.”
“I’m sorry!”
“Wait are you just now figuring that out,” Sandy blinked, “I thought it was obvious.”
“You knew!” Everyone on the ship snapped towards the giant in shock.
“Yes? It’s not like he was trying to hide it,” he pointed out.
“He really wasn’t,” the biker woman was on the floor dying of laughter at that.
“Hey look scary, creepy, too many legged spiders in need of decimating right ahead!” MK diverted the attention back to the city ahead. “Talk later!
“Oh ho ho, believe me, there will be many, many talks ahead,” Tang hissed and stomped his way to the front of the ship.
“Welp that’s going to be Dad's problem right there,” he said.
“Gonna pin the blame on dear old Pops,” Mei snorted.
“Yup! This is payback for the needless anxiety this caused me,” the monkey's successor eye twitch.
“HA!”
She may be outnumbered and her pawns may have been taken out, but she will not back down after all.
“All of you together can’t beat me! I am the Queen of Spiders!” Spider Queen declared in hysteria as she took a step forward towards the monkey brat.
“Oh yeah,” they all turned to see the Monkey King casually walking down the wall as he picked up the staff and with a spin he declared, “Well I’m the King,” and with that statement, he freed his student.
He bent down and helped pick him back up with a sheepish grin, “Well you already know I’m not too hot on some things, apparently spiders are one of them too.” Then they all stood tall against the Spider Queen as if daring her to try to make the next move.
“Well if I can’t have this world, then no one can!” She cried out as she slung herself up to the Spider mech. l and started it up once more as the ground began to violently shake. “I’ll level this whole city!”
Right when she did that though, both student and mentor jumped up in the air.
“It’s now or never!” Wukong cried out as MK grabbed hold of the staff.
“Right!” The two began to spin and spin and spin even faster until they were a golden pinwheel of light.
“Here comes Monkey Kid!” Right after that last work, Wukong flung MK forward as the student shouted out facing the enemy head on and the proud mentor whispered as he watched his kid take that final strike.
The machine broke as everything shut down at that moment in, but before MK could feel proud, he had noticed that he was currently free falling.
“Shit!” He yelled out and quickly looked around to find any sort of platform he could get a hold of.
“I got you!” He felt his collar then his body quickly stop free falling as quickly as Wukong in bird form was holding him up.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t quite fast enough to fly far away enough from the incoming explosion in his small form, but luckily there was another as he quickly grabbed the both of them in his hands and jumped far away enough. Just in time as everything explodes.
BOOOOOM!
The machine shattered in millions of parts that it was spread far and wide throughout the city, finally bringing the Spider Queen's short, but deadly, reign to an end.
“Whew, thanks-DAD!” MK exclaimed as he finally noticed that he was in the hands of his father's titan form.
“Great catch Moonbeam!” Wukong beamed up when he got out of bird form.
The Monkey titan didn’t say a word as examined their bruised, injured, and bartered form and with a worried purr, he gently stood up and began to walk back to the group with them still cradled in his hands.
“Anddd I don’t think he is letting us go any time soon,” the student said as he slumped down, only to wince at his bruises.
“Nope,” Monkey King replied as he tried to relax, but both the memories and the wounds made it very hard to do so, it also didn’t help that there was a familiar smell in the air.
Their form eventually made its way to the rest of the group as they all stared up at the lumbering giant that towered over them all.
“I feel like I should be more frightened,” Tang mused as he stared up at the ominous titan with a glowing eye staring back at them.
“I don’t blame you,” Pigsy huffed as he had to stop him from instinctively standing in front of the group, even though the giant monkey was an ally.
“Just be glad he’s on our side,” Sandy smiled up.
“You're telling me,” Red nodded as he rubbed his hands from stopping the explosion alongside his father.
Bull King said nothing as he stared up at the titan.
“Hey guys!” MK shouted as he waved at them.
“Liking the view from up there!” Mei shouted back.
“It’s pretty nice! I never knew laying down on a giant monkey’s hand would feel good until now!”
“Maybe I’ll give you a ride on my war form then,” Wukong joked as he climbed up and sat on the titan's shoulder.
“Wait what?” Though he wasn’t able to ask anymore as the violent hand slowly came down and in front of the group.
“A ride! Count me in!” The dragon girl hopped in first as Sandy followed close behind.
“This might as well happen,” the pig demon sighed as he supported his partner's weight on him and sat down next to the others. But that didn't stop Tang from going starry eyed over the Monkey King and Macaque titan form.
“I’m not going,” Bull King growled when the hand still stood in front of both him and his son.
Red promptly halted in his step when he said that and looked almost longingly to his friends as he put his foot down.
The Bull demon saw his heir's morose expression and only took a moment before he sighed, “You may go if you wish…son.”
The Bull prince's eyes sparkled at his words and he lit up with glee as he rushed over to the rest of the group, getting one arm hugs from both his friends. Yet, the hand still hasn’t ascended.
“Nice teeth,” Mei commented as the Prince settled down and she noticed her other friend teeth.
“Huh?” MK saw her wordlessly take out her phone and show him his new sharpen teeth, his eyes sparkled with glee. “This is so cool! Hey Red, we match!”
“Indeed we do,” he gave a slight grin, “but mine are much more deadlier.”
“Give me a couple days to get used to this and we can find out,” he grinned back.
Before Red could shoot back a growl was heard.
“I said, I’m not going,” he emphasized his words and glared at the giant.
Giant Macaque only raised his brow as he used his free hand to pluck the Bull King firmly, but gently held him as he continued his way.
“Unhand me you insufferable cretin!” He yelled out as he tried to break free, but with him still being wounded and drained of his energy, the struggle was barely even noticeable.
“And you say I’m headstrong,” Monkey King snorted at the demon struggles.
“Oh I am so keeping this,” Mei smirked as she took so many photos.
“Send me that,” Pigsy and MK said.
“Will do!”
They were only put down when they finally reached their destination, which was Pigsy Noodle shop, and standing in front of the doors was a lion supporting a tired looking monkey.
“Thank fuck you all are alright,” he sighed as he released the titan puppet when everyone was off and he should probably be glad that Ahmed was supporting his sorry ass as he would have fallen straight down from the abrupt disperse of energy.
“Are you okay,” Wukong worriedly asked as he noticed his moon tired form and how the lion was helping him.
“Will be, but for now everyone gets your sorry asses inside so I can patch you up,” he pointed to some of the clones inside already holding materials in hand.
“I’ll help-” MK began to say, only to be stopped by his stare “-after I heal up,” he quickly added.
“Nice save,” Mei whispered as both of them and Red went inside.
“You and I are gonna have a long talk Mr. Six Eared Macaque,” Tang almost growled.
“Wasn’t really trying to hide it,” he smirked as the historian raised both his hands in exasperation.
“And that’s what’s pissing me off, ‘it came along the way,’ you weren’t even trying,” he huffed as he marched inside, but not before giving a stink eye to the lion. “And I bet you knew as well.”
“Guilty as charged,” he had to hold back his laughter as his friend gave another strangled yell.
“You're gonna have one hell of a lecture from him,” Pigsy smirked as he nudged the monkey.
“I have already accepted my fate,” he shrugged.
“Good call, also don’t really care about your past and whatnot, you have already shown me that you're a pretty decent demon no matter what history may say.”
“Thanks,” he gave a small smile.
The pig demon patted his shoulder and went inside as well. Macaque looked towards the blue giant who just smiled.
“I already knew.”
“And this is what makes you the smart one,” he smirked as the therapist gave a hearty laugh.
“You need help,” Wukong cautiously asked once more as he stepped forward.
“I am not doing shit except letting my clones do the bandaging and healing, I need to sit my ass down,” he grumbled before giving a slight smile, “but thanks for worrying about me dumbass.”
“Always,” he smiled back.
“Now go sit your ass inside before I make you,” he deadpanned.
“I mean I don’t really need it, you know I heal pretty-”
“I can easily tell that both you and Bull along over there had your energy drained,” Monkey King paled.
“Ah…so you know.”
“Oh I know,” he tail swished angrily behind him, “and I also know just how fucking dangerous energy transfers are when they’re not done properly! And I already know that it wasn’t really Spider Queen's main concern now is it?”
“Ummm,” he nervously hummed.
“Now, get your ass in there or else,” his eyes flickered.
“Aye Aye!” He quickly walked in and escaped the eyes of doom.
“So it seems that there is more to the story,” Tang muttered as he watched the interactions as a salve got put on his leg. “It seems that the two immortal monkeys aren’t enemies.”
“Oh there is a lot more,” MK wished he could rub his forehead, but his hands were currently occupied by the clone wrapping his hand. “So much more.”
No one could say anything else before they heard the Demon Bull speak.
“I’m not going in,” Bull King huffed, “I’m not so fragile that I need to worry about such items.”
“You know what no,” Bull demon raised his eyebrow at the doctor's tone. “I’m not even gonna argue with you, your ass is going in there and you are going to sit down and you are going to get checked over.”
“You dare speak to me like that!”
“Frankly I don’t care!” He barked out as he broke free of Ahmed’s hold and marched up to the larger demon. “I have long since run out of fucks to give and I simply don’t fucking care! I am already spread thin with clones all around making medicine, helping out at the hospital, checking for survivors, and other shit! I was spread thin when I made my Puppet Titan to obliterate the fucking spiders. I am so spread thin that even my own self control is waning as we fucking speak that it’s taking all in me not to just make your stupid ass go unconscious, just so I won’t have to fucking hear you! So. Go. In. The. Noodles. Shop!”
“You don’t have the power to stop me,” he growled and took a step forward, not even acknowledging the lion demon piercing eyes nor the monkey Sage's own ominous stare.
“If you don’t get your ass inside I will call Queen Iron Fan and tell her about your stupidity about your health,” he bluntly stated.
“You wouldn’t dare,” he took a step back in fear.
“Try me bitch.”
“…fine,” he let out a final huff and lumbered inside.
Mei whistled as the clone was getting some derbies out of her back, “Dannnggg, just one word of the mother and he just comes.”
“Mother does worry about our safety when she’s gone,” Red nodded.
“For good reason.”
“Okay!” Macaque said loudly as he plopped himself right next to Wukong, “While you guys are getting bandaged, how about you all tell me what the hell happened both inside the ship and how the hell did you get that antidote because I know the smell of immortal peaches from a mile away and that antidote had that in spades.”
“So that’s why the whole city smells like that,” the brown furred monkey eyes widened, “I thought I was going crazy.
“What is the point in that?” Bull King questioningly asked.
“Well, I thought that it would be better if we all figured out how not only she managed to get her hands on mind control potion that potent, but how almost all the demons, including you two, one of the strongest ones in the world, got captured by the Spider Queen.” He emphasized, it literally makes no sense how she was able to do that. Sure she may be strong with access to her minions that do her dirty work at times, but she’s not that strong to manage to take down so many villains, and she doesn’t have the connections to find a potion of that kind of caliber.”
“That is a fair point,” the Bull demon reluctantly agreed.
“Great! Now talk.”
“She caught the staff?” MK blurted out as he popped up from Mei's shoulder.
“I know! Caught me by surprise too,” Wukong huffed at his student surprise.
“To be fair, Lady Iron Fan did the same with me, but she had some sort of metal glove.”
“But not with pure energy,” Red leaned back into Mei side, “it took me countless centuries to find all the supplies to make that glove and the Spider Queen only used her energy, something is not adding up.”
“Ain’t that the truth,” she nodded as she subtly brought her two crushes, which she will happily keep to herself until both of them are comfortable, back to her. She could very much appreciate the fact that they both had very warm and comfortable bodies that she will happily take advantage of.
“So that’s where Minsheng was,” Ahmed hummed, “the others were worried about them.”
“He really did tell her off, but I saw him escape with the rest after they broke free,” the monkey explained.
“That’s one worry off then.”
“Son, how did you know the incantation and the symbol to enter the Celestial Realm?” Bull King asked when they got to the part where they were about to enter the realm.
“Umm well you see,” he nervously chuckled, “there are so many ways you can get inside the realm other than the main entrance and it’s not like it was hard to actually find another way once you know what the main one looks like. But don’t worry, I haven’t stepped foot inside the realm until today, so they shouldn’t know that it was me who entered!”
“To be honest I never knew that there were other ways you can get inside,” Wukong admitted, “Nice job.”
“Indeed, show me how exactly you managed this feat when we get home,” the giant Bull said. It is no easy task to accomplish something that no one else has done before, he didn’t acknowledge the pit of warm pride he felt.
“Yes father!” He excitedly said, not noticing that his two friends were eyeing the Bull King with disdain.
“Wait hold up, how the hell did you manage to sneak into the Celestial Realm almost undetected?” He questioned when his son finished telling them how they escaped the holy realm.
“Well there was like nobody there, the only real problem we encountered was the spiders, two lion statues that came to life, and perhaps my crippling anxiety,” he shrugged.
“Well get to that last bit later, but what do you mean no one?! You went to the Heavenly Orchard, Lao Tzu alchemy lab, the fucking Jade Emperor Throne Room! What the hell did you mean no one was there?!” His eyes twitch as he gets shrugs from almost everyone, he says almost as now Red son is realizing that what he said is true and is slightly paling at what that could mean. Even Wukong and Bull King are looking at the group in absolute confusion.
“That does raise a concerning question,” BK rumbled. “The Celestial Realm is never without the deities inside, especially the Jade Emperor himself. So if all the deities were gone on the same day then there must have been a deadly matter that needed to be taken care of…but everyone gone? That still makes no sense.”
“You're telling me, it wasn’t even that easy for me to cause havoc when I was up there. I had to disguise myself as so many people just to make it out to the courtyard,” Wukong nodded.
“It just doesn’t make sense on why-” he stopped himself as he looked towards the other monkey and then his son and a thought occurred. “No, that couldn’t be, hey flicker do they still have that Spirit detecting thing for when you enter the realm.”
“Indeed they still do,” he faces palmed as he completely had forgotten that they had been specially made after people, deities, and demons tried to break their way into the realm one too many times.
Macaque couldn’t stop his smile from growing as he finally realized what happened and he burst out into laughter. “No way! No fucking way! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!”
“Huh?” Everyone echoed as they watch the monkey burst out almost out of nowhere.
“Umm Dad?” He tried to call out, but he was too busy laughing.
“Pops? You good?” She tried, absolutely nothing in reply.
“Mango, moonlight, my other half,” Wukong grabbed him by the shoulder, which did make him pause, but still was sporting a wide grin. “What the hell did you figure out?”
“Srk, okay holy shit this is just way too funny,” he choked out and continued. “The reason why no one was there was because they sensed MK spirit energy and the staff, both of which had been imbued with your energy. I mean, I know that after sensing your energy was coiled around mine a few weeks ago, they did not want a second round with Wukong in any way shape, or form, especially his successor, so they just fucked off and left!”
Dead silence overtook the small restaurant as everyone's eyes slowly turned to the Monkey Sage, who was sporting both a cheeky and a sheepish grin.
“I feel like I should probably apologize to them one day.”
“The sad thing is that it sounds about right,” Red sighed. While he doesn't visit the celestial realm, he knows enough to know that many deities, including the Jade Emperor, would rather just up and leave than deal with Sun Wukong after what he last did no matter how many centuries may have passed. He does have to admit that out of everything he did, this may have been one of his biggest feats yet. “What is my life right now?”
“Let’s just continue,” Pigsy said as he was holding back his partner from asking so many questions.
“Evil laughter?”
“Shut up.”
“It was fun!”
“And highly entertaining.”
“Shut up!”
“And that’s all of it,” MK finished off.
“Crazy as usual, but that still doesn’t explain how she was able to do what she did,” he leaned back. Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw Wukong stiffen, but he kept that to himself. He will get it out of that monkey when they're alone.
“I heard the whispers again,” everyone's eyes whipped towards Bull King, but only Red son and Macaque knew what he was talking about.
“You mean the same ones that controlled you back then,” the doctor hissed out.
“Indeed.”
“You met Lady Bone Demon?!” Wukong blurted out but immediately regretted that as everyone's eyes were locked on him.
“You know that vile cretin!” Bull King growled.
“Wait Bone Demon! As in the same one you met in the Journey to the West! That one!” Tang wanted to lean forward, but both Pigsy and Sandy were holding him back.
Wukong said nothing as he gripped his fists under the table.
“Monkey King?” MK worriedly asked at the monkey's still expression.
“Sunbeam,” the monkey blinked at his friend's hand on his and looked up to see his concerned look, “what happened?”
“…okay,” he entwined his finger with his and looked at the group. “I met her on the ship.” He then began to explain his experience with the demon on the ship and the restaurant was silent as he talked.
“So,” Macaque broke the silence, “it seems that we were right on the idea that this was no ordinary spirit.”
“You’ve been investigating this?!” Wukong asked as everyone barring the Bull family and Ahmed looked in shock.
“Of course I have, Bull King got possessed and no one found that at all suspicious? I mean that’s why Queen Iron Fan is currently not even in the city right now, she is meeting some people over some enchanted artifacts and spells that will help. But now that we know who exactly we're dealing with, I think we can narrow that down by a lot. So, you’ll update her,” he said towards the Bull family.
“Already doing so,” Red’s son said as his eyes were glowing red.
“Good, now anything else you tell us?” He looked back to his dumbstruck friend.
“Just that I…encountered her a few times before and that there was a reason she was buried so deep underground,” he sighed as he rubbed his thumb on the black fur. “What she wants the most is to make herself known to the world and she wants to accomplish this by conquering the world, so she’ll be after me first and my powers.”
“And we will be ready,” MK determinedly said. “We know that she is alive and that she is probably planning something, but whatever it is, we'll be one step ahead of her.”
“You got that right, I mean who would ever expect this,” she gestured towards the room filled with people, demons, and immortals, “Wukong lives in isolation so in no way will he be interacting with mortals, supposed enemies with Pops and Bull family.”
“That part is still true,” Bull King grumbled.
“Mostly, but even then you can tolerate him and that is what she won’t be expecting!”
“But there still is the problem that we don’t know what she is planning after her plan failed,” Tang pointed out.
“Was it her plan at all?” They all turned to face Pigsy.
“What do you mean?” MK asked.
“Well, it just seems that with the whole spider theme going on, it was more of the Spider Queen plan and the Bone chick tagging along at the end, you know, like that one person in a group project. I always hated that guy, stupid Hans,” he growled.
“You…do make a point,” Red eyes flickered once he finished his talk. “And mother also said that she will be going to the highlands next after she’s finished dealing with the…unruly elves.”
“That’s one way to say it,” Bull King nodded.
“But since the plan with the Spider Queen failed, where would she go next?” Mei asked.
“We’ll hold on,” everyone looked to Sandy now as the giant looked at Wukong and Bull King, “You said that she was following the Spider Queen, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Indeed.”
“Well I may have only met the Spider Queen once, but it’s easily recognizable that she has a superiority complex that hinges more towards the self importance side, and judging by how you describe the Bone demon, she is very tactile and manipulative to use this to her advantage. So we already know it was Spider Queen's plan first, but it was the Bone demon who most likely approached her first as you said that the Queen was more hostile towards the other. But, even when the plan failed, I think that she will still stick with the Spider Queen as she is not only one of the strongest in the city, but maybe has the resources she needs at the moment,” he finished and took a sip of his tea.
“Holy shit,” Mei whispered out as MK nodded.
“Knew you were smart, but man you were hiding it in their big guy,” Pigsy smirked.
“Oh well just a guess based on what I know about their personality and actions,” he sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck.
“A well educated one it is,” Bull King said, “What is your profession?”
“I’m a therapist.”
“That makes sense,” he nodded.
“But for now, how about we hold this off until tomorrow,” Ahmed said as he looked at everyone’s bandaged bodies and drooping eyes, “I think we all deserve some shut eye.”
“But-”
“Their invasion just failed and they won’t be staring back up any time soon,” he cut MK off, “this can wait until tomorrow, where our minds would be fresher and perhaps our bodies a little lighter.”
“Agreed,” Macaque nodded.
“…okay,” MK gave in.
“Good, now everyone upstairs,” most of them began to trudge back up, the doctor eyed the Bull family, “I assume you have the teleportation spell?”
“Yep, prepped and ready,” Red confirmed.
“Then have a safe trip back,” and with final goodbyes, the Bull family left the restaurant, and with a flash, they were gone. Macaque watched them leave and promptly grabbed hold of the back of Wukong collar “And where do you think you're going?”
“Back to the mountain?” He questioned.
“No you're not, you're staying here.”
“Look Mac I really don’t feel like talking more about her,” he sighed once he knew everyone else was gone.
“And that is fine, but you are not leaving my sight anytime soon, now come on,” he pulled him up, “there is a hoard of blankets and pillows calling our names. So just relax, you are safe.”
It didn’t impact the monkey until he felt the warm coil of violet energy gently brush against his vigilant golden aura, did he finally settled down, and his nerves slowly relaxed and the next thing he knows is he is sitting on the rooftop surrounded by blankets and pillows and he is currently snuggled on Macaque shoulder as he hums softly and felt his soft hands groom his fur.
“Sleep Sunshine, we can deal with it all tomorrow,” he whispered and tucked him further underneath his chin.
He wished he could thank him for doing this, for watching over him during his blackout, for keeping him calm, but the words eluded him, and instead, he cuddled further into the hold. He stiffed when he heard soft footsteps approach, but relaxed at the familiar energy of both of his kids approaching him.
“Mind if we join,” MK asked as he took in the sight.
“Would you be up for that Sunspot?” Mac looked down.
Wukong didn’t say anything once more and just wordlessly nodded.
“Alright, you both can join, but right to bed.” He firmly told them both.
“Oh don’t worry, even my bones feel tired,” Mei said as she cuddled next to the black furred monkey and MK softly laid next to the brown furred simian.
Then there’s was silence once more as only the bustling from the streets could be heard as people reunited with each other once again, the whistle of winds, the steady breathing of the small group, and the soft humming of a six eared monkey lullabying them further and further into a deep sleep. And as Wukong listened, felt, and saw everything, only one thought was left as he closed his eyes for a long slumber.
He really loved his family.
As to why Mac didn’t get captured? Easy, he doesn’t have the same kind of cocky ego that both BK and Wukong shared. He actually likes to think before he acts.
Also, hey yeah remember how I said my longest chapter was like two chapters ago, welll I made a freakin new one and guess what? IT’S OVER 9000!! Like holy shit I need to sleep, but damn am I proud of how long I can make these XD

Welp. Here's the first chapter of that Tang fic I was talking about. Hopefully the characters aren't too out of character for this first chapter. They will be for sure in the future though. No content warnings yet but if that changes I'll make sure to add them. There's going to be lots of pairings in this one but I don't really know any of the ship names so if people want to call them out as they appear I'll add them to the tags.

Chapter Two
Scattered Cicadas - Chapter One: The Cycle
Tang seems to be stuck in a strange cycle. Might as well make the most of it.
-------------
Tang was certain by now that whatever was happening wasn’t a time loop. The starting points of each new cycle were too inconsistent, as were their endings. After nearly three dozen of these strange restarts and only a third of them beginning on the day MK received the Monkey King’s staff, the scholar was fairly confident in his conclusion.
“Alright, let’s see what this timeline has in store for us,” the man said as he stared at his reflection in the full-length mirror next to his dresser. He had started this little exercise around the seventeenth reset or so after noticing something else that only added more evidence against his original time loop theory.
“My name is Tang. I work at the public library.” So far nothing out of the ordinary. “I share an apartment with my good friend Pigsy.” Ah, the first and most common change he had noticed throughout this strange experience. And it was a change. He was fairly certain he had his own place originally. “While I am not in a romantic relationship with Pigsy, I harbor a small crush on him.”
Tang continued listing things about his current life as they came to him. He had discovered the various discrepancies compared to his original time fairly early on. So far the differences had been relatively minor. Demon Bull King being freed in the Winter instead of Spring. Mei’s family being descended from a blue dragon instead of green. Sandy’s ship being filled with therapy ferrets instead of cats.
The scholar was at first thrown by the changes, and had gone through some rather embarrassing freakouts the first few times. Luckily he discovered early on that while he never personally experienced the events of these worlds or timelines, if he focused enough, the memories of them would appear. Thus his new little routine he did at the beginning of a new cycle. He found looking at himself in the mirror seemed to speed up the recollection.
“It has been roughly two weeks since Demon Bull King has been freed and MK received the Monkey King’s glaive, thus becoming his successor.” Now that was interesting. This was the first time the Monkey King’s signature weapon was different.
It was all these changes to the world and the new memories that matched them that had squashed the initial time loop theory. In all his reading of both fiction and historical events, Tang had never heard of time travel that worked this way. His second theory, that he was somehow trapped in the Calabash by Jin and Yin, was also quickly discarded. He had the displeasure of experiencing its effects first hand several cycles back and it certainly did not implant new memories into his head.
Tang finished up the recap of his new memories and paused. Nope, nothing else it seemed. With a shrug he finished preparing for work. Hopefully it would be a slow day so he could get a bit more research done into what might be happening. Perhaps this was a celestial punishment as opposed to a demonic curse? He hoped that wasn’t the case but he wouldn’t be a scholar if he dismissed any avenue of investigation just because he disliked it.
Locking the apartment behind him, Tang made his way to the nearest bus stop with a spring in his step. While the situation was certainly less than ideal, the thought of some thorough research was always something he looked forward to.
------------
Tang slowly stirred the noodles in his bowl, his brow furrowed in distraction. One of his favorite reference books for ancient mystical history at the library had been changed. Well, to be more accurate, it was different in this timeline. The author was the same, but the contents were certainly not.
Why had it not ever occurred to the librarian that if the current history around him could change, that ancient history could as well? If that was the case, then how could he trust whatever lead he might find to be actually helpful to his situation? What if the knowledge he needed didn’t exist in the timeline he was currently in? What if it only existed in his original timeline?
With a despondent sigh, Tang continued to swirl around his untouched noodles, his negative thoughts seeming to spiral in the same circular loop.
“Oi! Earth to Tang!”
Tang jumped, almost spilling his bowl as he jerked at Pigsy’s shout. He looked up to see the pig demon across the counter with his arms crossed and a scowl on his face.
“If you’re going to be a freeloader you might as well appreciate the food I worked hard on,” the chef scolded without any real heat in his tone. “Something eating you?”
“Uh, y-yes I suppose you could say that,” Tang stammered. Pigsy raised an eyebrow and Tang flushed. The lack of confidence he normally projected had certainly been noticed by Pigsy.
“Well spit it out then. Don’t have all night.” Despite the gruffness of his words, Tang could pick out the small bits of concern in the chef’s tone.
“Well, I seem to have hit a stumbling block in one of my research projects,” Tang explained as he pushed his glasses back up and began to relax. While Pigsy always acted angry at Tang for the mooching of noodles, the pig demon, across every timeline so far, never forced the scholar to pay and was always a great listener. “I’ve come across some evidence that many of the historical texts I’m looking into might be presented differently to the events that actually transpired.”
“Isn’t that how most of history is like though?” Pigsy leaned against the counter, his scowl replaced with a puzzled frown. “Didn’t you say something last month about how history books were mostly the writers' biases or something?”
Tang blinked at that. He did somewhat recall the conversation as he focused on it, but hadn’t thought Pigsy had been paying enough attention to his rant at the time.
“Yes I suppose that is true,” the scholar conceded.
“What do you normally do when you come across these changes?”
“I keep looking for a more accurate version of the text or form an educated guess based on all the evidence I gather.”
“Then what’s the problem? If you already know how to solve the issue then there’s no reason dwelling on it. Just keep going until it's fixed,” Pigsy said bluntly.
Tang just stared at the chef for a moment. Was it really just that simple? A smile slowly spread across his face as he realized that, yes, yes it could be. Even if the knowledge in this timeline was different, that didn’t make it useless. Knowledge was power, and who knew what tiny pieces he could find to fit together into a workable solution. Leave it to Pigsy’s pragmatic outlook to cut straight to the problem and efficiently solve it.
“Thanks Pigsy,” Tang said, smiling sincerely.
“Yeah, no problem.” Pigsy waved his hand in dismissal and, was that a blush Tang saw? “Now eat your noodles before they get cold.” The pig demon quickly moved off to help a new customer that had walked in, leaving Tang to his bowl.
As he ate the delicious noodles, Tang watched Pigsy as he worked.
He had always admired his friend, even in his original timeline. What he was unsure of were the romantic feelings he had for the pig. Outside of sharing an apartment together, the relationship status between the pair was the second most common change he experienced. The first time he had woken up in the same bed as Pigsy had resulted in one of his earliest embarrassing freak outs that had resulted in a few hurt feelings for a while.
While Tang could see how these feelings could have blossomed, he couldn’t quite remember if he had felt this way in his original time. He had simply gone with the flow the many times they were romantically involved and if he was honest, they had been some of the most pleasant moments he could remember since this whole timeline jumping mess had started.
He studied the chef as he gracefully moved about his kitchen, chopping vegetables and rolling dough. The pig demon had a gruff exterior, but obviously cared about those around him a lot. He was steady and sensible, always scolding someone for doing something stupid but always there with straightforward advice if asked. He made sure that no one would ever be hungry while he was around and woe be it unto any customer who insulted his family within his earshot.
Pigsy, as if sensing the eyes on him, looked up and met Tang’s gaze. He gave the scholar a brief smile before returning to the broth he had been stirring.
As a warmth filled his chest that didn't have to do with the noodles, Tang made a decision that he was sure Pigsy would have approved of. It didn’t really matter what their relationship was. Platonic or romantic, Tang loved Pigsy for being Pigsy and always would. If these alternate worlds seemed set on making them more than friends, well then who was he to complain.
Drinking the remaining broth in his bowl, Tang grinned as he decided to act on Pigsy’s advice. This version of him had a crush on the chef and he already knew the solution for fixing that.
“Hey Pigsy! You free for a date this Friday?”
His grin grew wider as Pigsy dropped his ladle into the pot of broth and whirled around and began stammering. Behind him, the scholar heard Mei crow in victory and began demanding that MK ‘pay up’.
These strange jumps in time were certainly a less than ideal situation, but Tang decided to not worry too much about them. He knew it was only a matter of time until a solution presented itself. While he waited for that to happen, who would blame him for trying to enjoy himself in the meantime?
----------------
First chapter done wooo! Now the following chapters won't be in a strict chronological order as Tang jumps around, but some events do come before others. As for what's going on... You'll just have to wait and see~ See you in chapter two!

Spider-Webbed- Chapter 1/3
Summary: A mysterious new racing rival asks Xiaojiao out and Red Son suspects that she’s a spy for the Spider Queen
Notes: This is the idea based off Tourist Trapped that I mentioned a few days ago. There’s Spicynoodleshipping (new boyfriends) and Zoisiteshipping, created by @pechachaos. @ninja-knox-ur-sox-off, since you showed interest...
-_-
The race today wasn’t as big as the Great Wall Race, but there was still a massive crowd. “Do you want to wear the hat?” Tang asked as he and Xiaotian walked up to the seating. The younger shook his head at the sight of the green dragon hat. “Fair enough.” The scholar placed the hat on his head.
“Qi Xiaotian! Mr. Tang!” The two stopped at the voices. Mr. and Mrs. Long were walking up together, wide smiles bright on their faces. Xiaotian couldn’t help but snuggle into the hug he was scooped in by his bestie’s mother. “Are you two here to support Xiaojiao?”
“Like always, Mr. Long.” Tang said, shaking the man’s hand. “It’s good to see you here!”
“Well, we don’t understand all…” Mr. Long gestured to everything. “This. But we do want to support Xiaojiao.” Mrs. Long nodded, finally releasing Xiaotian. The boy smiled before rising on his tippy toes to look around. “Xiaotian, my boy? Are you looking for something?”
“I invited someone.” Xiaotian admitted, his smile fading as he fell back down to his feet. “But it looks like-” A throat cleared and his smile returned. “Red!”
Red Son stood there, looking a little confused and flustered. Xiaotian bounded up, hugging his boyfriend and ignoring the little flames that came off his hair. A moment later, he shot back, cheeks warming. They didn’t look at each other before the mortal gathered his courage. “I was worried you wouldn’t make it.”
“I...was doing something.” Red pulled a tablet out of his pocket. “I had a drone install spy cameras in the Spider Queen’s base.” He pressed a button and the tablet turned on to reveal a feed of the webby lair. “Now we have a live feed of what they’re doing!”
“That’s so cool! What have you found?”
“Well, apparently some new person is joining them...”
(Neither of the boys noticed Mrs. Long lean over, eyeing how the demon flushed at the praise. “Have they just started dating?” she whispered. Tang held up two fingers. “Well, they’re doing better than you and your partner were.”) Before Tang could muster a snarky response, an announcement came over the loudspeakers to ask people to take their seats. “I guess that’s for us!”
The group took their seats. Xiaotian settled next to Red's side. After a moment, his boyfriend wrapped an arm around his shoulders to pull him close. Heat formed in their faces when their sides pressed together. (They ignored the Longs and Tang's coos.)
The racers took their positions as the commentators listed out the course and the racers. There was an excited roar when Long Xiaojiao, house favorite, was introduced. Tang, very used to this at this point, was the loudest. Xiaotian was close behind.
Then it was time.
"On your marks!" The racers finished last minute position shifts. "Get set!" Engines turned over. Everyone held their breath…
"GO!"
The racers took off.
The white and emerald green of Xiaojiao led the way.
The race went like normal, the commentators listing out the upcoming turns and who was out. There were cheers every time Xiaojiao's position was confirmed. A close call with a wall and another racer made the crowd go wild.
"No!"
Xiaotian snapped out of his excitement to glance over. At the sudden noise increase, Red had startled and dropped his tablet. It had slipped through the gaps in the seating. The two winced when there was an audible crack.
"We can get it when the race is-"
"Looks like we have a last minute entry!"
Everyone looked up at the screen. It replayed a purple and black motorcycle crossing the starting line. When it switched over to the live feed, it revealed that the new racer was in hot pursuit of Xiaojiao. "It looks like- who is that?!" There was some muffled whispering. As it continued, the new racer managed to drive up so they and Xiaojiao were neck to neck. "Well, whoever that is, they're neck in neck with Long!"
The two racers were in a hot game of mock tag, zooming in front of and behind each other. Xiaotian gripped Red as they watched. The finish line was coming up…
Xiaojiao cut in front.
The new racer zoomed up.
The two glanced at each other.
The finish line was engulfed in a cloud of dust and wind.
Xiaotian released Red to instead help steady Tang. Red, used to his mother's powers with wind, and the Longs, who were dragons, stayed still. Everyone else was holding on for dear life.
Finally, the wind died down. The dust cleared.
And the mysterious new racer had crossed first.
Gasps and whispers rolled through the crowd before people started clapping. None of Xiaojiao's family did. Xiaotian made eye contact with his friend when she pulled off her helmet. The same question was in her eyes.
Who is that?
-_-
Xiaojiao wanted to be left alone. That was understood. The Longs said their goodbyes before heading to their car. The boys promised to meet her at the shop.
Red and Xiaotian managed to collect the former's tablet. The casing was bent and the screen was slightly shattered. But Red claimed it was still usable. Now he and Xiaotian sat at a booth, Tang eating noodles at the bar, and Red poked and prodded his tablet.
That was where everyone was.
When Xiaojiao finally came back to the noodle shop, it wasn’t how anybody expected.
She was happily humming as she skipped into the shop. Skipped. Tang, eating his sixth bowl of noodles, Red, who was smacking his spy tablet, and Xiaotian, who was watching Red smack his tablet with some minor concern, stared as she twirled before finally coming to a stop. Tang was the first to speak. “Uh...Mei? Honey? Are you feeling alright?”
“Just peachy!”
“Are you sure? You usually aren’t so…” Tang made a gesture of her cheerful self. “Happy after a loss. You’re glum for a day before getting back into practice.”
Xiaojiao stared before shrugging. “Alright, I guess it’s time to spill the beans.” Pulling out her phone, she typed out something. The sound of a can falling over played before she grinned. “I have a date!”
Red stared. “...You were gone for half an hour. You have a date?!”
Xiaojiao shrugged again, her smile fading. “Yeah! I ended up talking with someone and they seemed nice and they like motorcycles and video games. What’s the harm?” Red held up his tablet and gestured to the screen. Between the glitching and static, the image of one of the spider goons trying to do the worm was playing. Xiaojiao raised a brow in confusion. “I see.”
He glanced over and yelped at the sight. “I mean, it’s-”
The sound of a motorcycle cut off whatever Red was going to say next. Xiaojiao gasped happily. “She’s here!”
She ran outside and Red seized the opportunity to turn the tablet off. “I have a bad feeling about this.”
“It’s just a date.” Xiaotian said, leaning into him. The demon stiffened before awkwardly wrapping his arm around his shoulders. His frown didn't fade. “What’s the harm?”
Red’s expression did not get better when Xiaojiao came in with “Hey, family…” She was escorting a familiar purple-clad rider inside. “Say hello to my new girlfriend!”
The rider took off her helmet, revealing messy dark hair and several piercings. Her smile was sharp as green green eyes took in the establishment. The bad feeling grew worse. “What’s up?” she said, flashing them a finger gun.
Tang had clearly recognized who this was. His voice was gritted as he managed out “Hello.”
Xiaotian was much more friendly as he waved. “Hi.” Red glared, ignoring the elbow to the gut that his boyfriend gave him. “So, is this your date?”
“Yep!” Xiaojiao said, leaning into her new ‘girlfriend’ like Xiaotian was doing to Red. “She came up and we started talking. She’s really cool.”
“Not as cool as you, pretty girl.” Then she wrapped an arm around Xiaojiao’s shoulder and squeezed her, seemingly not noticing the girl flush. “It’s nice to meet you, everyone. I’m Spin.”
Red raised a brow. “Is that your full name?”
“Eh, you could say it’s a nickname.” Spin shrugged, sounding cool and unbothered. “Anyway,” she said as she turned her attention back to Xiaojiao. “We should head out before the cafe gets too crowded.” She dropped her arm to instead hold Xiaojiao’s hand. Spin gave a nod to the trio before walking away.
“Don’t wait up!” Xiaojiao yelled before disappearing as well. There was a moment of silence before a motorcycle started up. It zoomed away with the dragon girl’s cheer echoing behind it.
The three of them stared at the doorway.
“I have a bad feeling about this.” Red finally voiced.
-_-
The next afternoon, Red and Xiaotian were hanging out in the latter’s room. The demon, sitting on the bed, was still having trouble with his broken tablet and growled as he flicked it again. The image managed to clear for a moment before dissolving back into static. Red dropped it with a groan. “Uh, maybe you should hook that up to a new tablet?” Xiaotian suggested, looking up from his desk from where he was drawing.
“I can’t. All my spares are back in the palace my mother’s staying in and she’s still in a mood.” Said mood was why she wasn’t with her son and her husband. All Red had said was that his parents had argued and she had stormed off to one of their spare homes. “And I don’t know whether or not Father’s told her about...us.”
‘Us’ was something DBK seemed to be ignoring for the time being. All of Xiaotian’s guardians had given their approval but DBK hadn’t said a word. Which was fine. Really. Red returned his attention to the tablet, picking it up and giving it another smack. There was a screech before someone started speaking, the words breaking in and out. “Finally!” he said.
“Where is-told that she would be here-where is she?”
“My apologies, my Queen- busy.”
“BUSY!?”
“Yes-she said she was visiting- motorcycle race.”
Red froze, staring at the screen. He didn’t notice as the audio died. “Did you hear that?!” he said, whirling onto his boyfriend. “He said the new person was visiting the motorcycle race yesterday!”
Xiaotian raised a brow. “...yeah? What about it?”
“Think about it! Who else randomly showed up at the motorcycle race?!” The delivery boy opened his mouth but before he could say a word, the demon continued. “Spin! She has to be the new agent!” He started pacing, going over the idea. “I mean she has the same purple scheme as everyone else in the Spider Queen’s clan, it’s easy for them to disguise themselves…” He whirled around to shake his boyfriend. “Xiaojiao!”
“Xiaojiao?!”
“She must be using Xiaojiao to gather intel on you!”
“Okay, okay, okay,” Xiaotian gently pried Red’s hands off his shoulders. “Maybe she’s not? I mean, lots of people wear purple and like motorcycle races. It could be a coincidence.” The demon stared and he held up his hands. “I’m not saying you’re crazy. I’m saying that you gotta have evidence. Otherwise, people will think you’re crazy.”
Red took a deep breath in and a deep breath out. “Evidence. Right. I’ll go do that.” He ran to the door, paused, and walked back to Xiaotian. He pressed a kiss to his forehead. “Uh, thanks. For the advice.”
He returned to walking out, not noticing the mortal flush, touching where he had kissed him.

Smoke, Flasks, and Unfinished Tasks: Chapter 7
AO3 Link!
Chapter 1 Link!, Chapter 2 Link!, Chapter 3 Link!, Chapter 4 Link!, Chapter 5 Link! Chapter 6 Link!
Summary: We return to the world outside the Calabash and someone regrets their life choices.
Warnings: Mild accidental self inflicted violence, after effects of the smoke from the last chapter.
Author’s note: A bit shorter than I intended since I was unhappy with how the additions to this chapter flowed and I rewrote them entirely, there are no spoilers for the special (I had removed or edited them into something unrelated) but there will be some allusions to it in the coming chapters.
Chapter 7: Real Feeling Illusion
Mei let out a yell of surprise as she felt cold metal settle into her hands, something that should be familiar but felt brand new despite that.
Her eyes snapped open to green, green and more green, every shade surrounding her as she stared into the gazes of her ancestors. The same judgemental gazes that she had already faced once before.
"Wh-what?"
The only thing that answered her were the glowers and whispers of the dragons above her, sneering, chastising, questioning.
“This has already happened... I’ve already done this...”
----------
"Monkey King!?"
Red Son gasped, eyes opening to a sight he wished to never see again.
"Come to take me? Find me?"
His breathing quickened, shaking his head as he took a step back.
"I will not let that simian abomination triumph again!"
This couldn't be happening again, it had to be a trick of the Calabash. Red Son had to believe it was as he watched his father scream over the screens showing MK and his friends coming closer and heard the whispers of the White Bone Spirit on the wind.
----------
"Hey, kid? You paying attention?"
The voice calling him made MK's blood run cold as his eyes snapped open, a far too familiar derelict dojo greeting his vision. And one very familiar, amused, dark furred monkey.
"No..." MK breathed quietly, holding his staff tighter. "No no, this isn't possible. It can't do this can it?"
"What's wrong?" Macaque asked, spinning a training staff in his hand with an easy friendly smile, practiced he now knew. Practiced to trick him, trap him, get what he wants out of him. It went softer, faker, kinder, and it hurt. "You look like you've seen a ghost."
----------
The air within the Bull Family's current abode was tense, Wukong's words weighing it down heavily. No one dared do more than breathe until the Demon Bull King or Princess Iron Fan reacted first.
While Iron Fan's face had fallen into disbelief and some form of concern, DBK's face was nearly unreadable. Eyes closed, arms crossed, the most emotion showing was the faintest furrowing of his brow.
"Darling?" PIF said softly, running her hand down his face in a soft display of affection that felt odd to watch for the group on the ground.
"I will assist you," DBK offered suddenly, turning to his wife with a soft rumble. "What wi-"
"I am helping," she answered instantaneously, features hardening as she turned back toward Wukong and the rest of the group.
"I should have assumed as much," DBK chuckled out, smiling softly for a split second before his features hardened once again. "I know my son, if you cannot find him then he is either hiding himself and his-" he growled deeply, spitting out the next word like poison. "-friends on purpose, which I doubt he could do for long with you searching of all people, or someone has made the mistake of angering the wrong family."
"Unfortunately we have no reason to assume it is anything but the later now," Wukong said, tone noticeably more relaxed but still more even and businesslike than normal. "This is what we know so far..."
Pigsy breathed out a sigh of relief, albeit the smallest possible any living being could manage, as Wukong began to explain to Red Son's parents in great detail exactly what they had done and what they had learned so far. There was something... off about it, however.
DBK was too calm. Almost... solemnly so. Now, normally he wouldn't be surprised if Iron Fan had been around to keep him calm, but she was hardly doing anything but sitting on his shoulder and talking to him in a hushed voice. Pigsy didn't know him all that well but every single time he had interacted with him, and from some stories from Wukong's younger days, he had always had a temper that put Red Son's fiery one to shame.
"Pigsy?" Tang said softly, laying a hand on his shoulder for a moment before frowning and squeezing it gently. "What's on your mind?"
"Somethin' ain't right here," he said with a shake of his head. "Somethin' really ain't right. Wukong can tell too, look at his tail. It's all puffed up on the back. Those two are hiding somethin' from us.” He turned to Sandy, who silently nodded in agreement.
Tang hummed softly, his grip on the pig demon’s shoulder tightening past gentle reassurance to a grounding firmness. “I trust your judgement, Pigsy. Let’s hope we can trust Wukong’s too, ok?”
Pigsy nodded himself, reaching up to grasp the scholar’s hand in a firm grip as they watched on from the sidelines still, waiting for anything to happen now. They didn’t have to wait too much longer before a gust of wind rushed past them and lifted PIF of her husband’s shoulder, setting her on the ground to the side of the two men.
“I will see what I can do with the equipment Red Son has left behind,” she said firmly, standing tall and looking all the more like a leader to an army than anything else at the moment. “While the Bull Clones will not likely be of any help, he left enough that should at least prove somewhat useful for a more delicate mission.” She frowned for a moment, looking up at her husband. “And... tell them. It might help.”
DBK startled, looking down at his wife with wide eyes. Now that was a look Pigsy had never seen on his face before. “Are you sure?”
“You and I both know that is the sole reason we need to find our son,” she said, frown deepening for just a moment before she wiped all expression from her face and allowed the wind to carry her off deeper into their hideout.
Now everyone was just confused, looking at the hulking demon lord as he scowled and ran a hand down his face. He turned to look at the group, taking them all in before focusing on Wukong again with a growl deep in his throat. “I had hoped we could convince him to return of his own accord and you would not find out about this,” he said with a deeper growl, scowling down at the Monkey King before sighing and seeming to relax ever so slightly. “But now... it has been so long I am doubting that is even possible now.”
“What are you talking about?” Wukong asked with a raised brow, fur bristling more noticeable as he tensed. “We knew you had been trying to get him to come back to your side.”
“Do you know why he left?” DBK continued, scowling even deeper than before. “Did you ever wonder why he chose to go to you?”
“...No,” Wukong admitted after a while, dropping his arms down to his sides. “I wanted to say that yeah we did, and no that doesn’t matter, but he’s never exactly been open about what made him come to Flower Fruit Mountain that day. Why?” He narrowed his gaze, watching the larger demon closely. “Wait... wait, you don’t mean-”
“Oh yes,” DBK said flatly, the sound of his teeth gritting together reverberating through the room and making everyone wince. “Ever since the Lunar New Year festival, Wukong. And it backfired spectacularly.”
----------
“Let!” Thunk. “Me!” Thunk, a cough. “OUT!” Thunk. “AGH!” Crack. “FUCK!”
Jin let out a screech of pain as he felt something in his hand give way, a knuckle or maybe a full finger bone. It didn’t matter either way, in only a few seconds it had fixed itself just as painfully as it had broken and left him with a fully intact hand for the third time.
“You’re one sick fox lady, you know that?” He yelled into the air, scowling even more as he changed tactics to attempting to kick himself out of containment. Trapped in what appeared to be the same little room he had left Yin in when he last saw him.
He may have the appearance of the Monkey King at the moment, and it may have given him access to some of his powers because of that, but physically he knew he was still Jin. The Gold Horned Demon. Not Sun Wukong, The Handsome Monkey King and The Great Sage Equal to Heaven. The Calabash itself knew this, could only go so far in the illusion, and not having breakable bones was apparently outside of the abilities of his and his brother’s device. Though he knew he was not actually being hurt, physically, everything that happened here was an illusion.
A very real feeling illusion. Unlike... unlike what could be happening to Yin...
At the thoughts of his brother in possible peril, Jin sighed, stopping his assault on the door to sit down on the makeshift cot they had been relegated to. He felt his tail (still a new and odd sensation to know he had one that moved of its own accord) drop down beside him, looking as deflated as he felt.
What if Princess Jade Face was hurting Yin? What if she had already hurt him? Was she using the new smoke on him as well or the sleeping smoke? His mind rushed through thought after thought of what she could do to hurt his brother while he wasn’t there to protect him... not that he had been doing a good job of it in the first place, all this being his fault in the first place.
He coughed again, throat aching from the after effects on whatever the new smoke was. His eyes burned and his head swam in lightheaded weightlessness. He wondered if it was supposed to hurt like this or if it was the combination of smokes, wondered if the trio trapped alongside him was feeling this or none or even worse. He wondered if they were safe.
“Safe?” He asked himself with a scowl. “Don’t tell me you’re actually giving a damn about those three outside of surviving yourself, me.”
He didn’t want to think about it, didn’t want to wonder what that meant. The only people he worried about were his brother first and then himself. And he would get the hell out of here, broken hands or legs or not.

TES V OC Thingie
[Got tagged by @jessaryss ! ]
Pause your game! Wherever your OC is in their game currently, tell me about their story so far.
✧✧✧ General
Current Level: 56
Name: Jeer-Tei Perdes
Name Meaning: Literally got it from a name generator lol. But lore wise it was a name gifted to them in honor of an Argonian who served beside Tei’s mother during the Great War
Pronouns: They/Them
Age: Early 30s where they are story wise???
Race(s): Argonian
Place of Origin: Hammerfell
Pick A Theme Song For Them: oof that's tough... From a Crowded Wound or maybe even Firstwake? If you really played around w personal interpretation/the lyrics that is haha
✧✧✧ Locations
Where Did You Begin Their Game?: Argonian Assemblage, Windhelm (Alternative Start)
Where Are They Currently In Your Game?: Whiterun
What Are They Doing There?: Just finished attending a party held in their honor (Post Blood of Kings)
Homes?: Breezehome, Proudspire, Lakeview & Autmnwatch
# of Locations Discovered?: 274
Dungeons Cleared: 104
Misc. Quests Completed: 87
Favorite Areas and/or Locations: Falkreath / Lakewview Manor. Both areas are where Tei heads off to in order to collect their thoughts/feel some sense of calm.
✧✧✧ Main Quest
Are They Dragonborn / Do They Know It At This Point?: Yes & yes
How Do They Feel About Being Dragonborn: It's...complicated, being thrust into the role of savior by gods of the Cult, which in turn are followed by the folk who see you lesser than them. Tei already has a dislike towards the Divines, this doesn't really help lol
Main Quests Completed: 21
Where Are They In The Main Story Line: Alduin's dead, currently trying to ignore the Civil War as long as they can before the Empire forces its hand into forcing them to join their ranks
Dragon Souls Absorbed: In total overall? 147. The amount currently stored in Tei? 45
Words of Power Learned: 64
Shouts Mastered: 21
Favorite Shout: Firebreath / Dragonrend
✧✧✧ Combat
Most Used Weapon(s): Daedric war axe OR Dragonbone battle axe. Tei technically has both on them at all times during adventuring, alongside a shield, so which they used depends on the situation/which they grab fastest.
Combat Style: Two/One-handed tank. Main tactic is to rush in, cause as much damage/chaos as possible to shake up the opponent, & clean up what the ranged attackers of the party (usually Rumarin, Inigo and/or Lucien) weren't able to deal with.
Armor Type / Level In It: HEAVY ARMOR BABYYYYY (Level 100 + 35 extra points via enchantments)
# of Training Sessions: 99 in-game, lore wise its a lot of self-teaching/keeping their skills learned from Hammerfell sharp. Some of these are magic but lore-wise this doesn't happen cus Tei is not a magic user, save for shouts. I just did those in-game for exp OR so I can help Lucien raise his magic skills :'D
Who Taught Them?: In-game?? Fuuuck so many npcs. Lore-wise? They learned this from their schooling in Hammerfell, going off the canon-lore that it's p much expected for everyone to have a grasp on combat & weaponry! Though they did learn a few things from Kaidan & Anum-La.
Favorite Enemy Type: Dragons! Despite the fact Tei does not have the best magic resistance, it's one hell of a challenge they love to meet.
Least Favorite Enemy Type: Automatons, because of a bad experience with them as a child. Also Undead, because they were raised not to disturb them & it just feels so wrong having to fight them/go into tombs.
People Killed: 945
Animals Killed: 749 (Hunterborn makes hunting fun lol)
Undead Killed: 766
Automatons Killed: 105
Daedra Killed: 136
✧✧✧ Magic
Favorite School(s): None, actually. Destruction is okay though....they guess
Most Used Spell(s): Firebreath or Dragon Aspect. Tei doesn't consider shouts spells though. It's totally different guys shut up they ain't no smelly mage gods
Spells Learned: 9 in-game, mainly due to the spells you're kinda forced to learn for some quests/the ones you automatically know
Items Enchanted: 19 (Tei technically doesn't enchant, and wont next playthrough for sure I wont give in this time >:[ )
College of Winterhold Quests Completed: 8
Where Are They At In The Questline?: Main quest is done bcus i dont like seeing unfinished quests in my journal lmao. Tei's involvement is completely different from canon though in my take. Moreso was hired as a guard for the expedition & was, unwillingly, dragged into the rest of the mess. Is not offered the Archmage position, that went straight to Tolfdir.
Opinions on Magical Guilds (Arcane University, Winterhold, Psijics, Synod, Radiant Dark, etc.): As they get older, they tolerate the guild & magic users more n more, BUT, Tei grew up in an environment that frowns upon the practice of magic, & it shows. They mainly mistrust necromancers/illusionists & still hold onto that belief that reliance on magic, especially for combat, is a weakness.
Bold words for someone with shit magic resistance.
✧✧✧ Crime
Current Gold: 10,640
How Did They Acquire Their Gold?: Odd jobs, selling a lot of the items they made/harvested from smithing & hunting (jewelers are their go-to hirers bcus Tei is great at getting things like ivory), Dwemer ruin diving (they refuse to loot the tombs), also yknow....being part of the Dark Brotherhood helps
Largest Bounty On Their Head: 11,240
For...?: Unfortunately they did not stand down when they were being falsely accused of murder in Markarth. First time Tei called down dragons (Sahrotaar, specifically, Tei managed to get command of Miraak's dragons post-Dragonborn) to absolutely smite some fools.
Current Bounty: None! They're good at not getting caught/threatening and/or bribing guards. :)
Locks Picked: 15 i think?
Jail Time: 1, Cidhna Mine
Jail Escapes: 1, teamed up w the Forsworn lol
Murders: 28
Assaults: 307....In their defense people keep getting in their way during dragon attacks
Items Stolen: 37, most of them from the nobles of Windhelm
Thieves Guild Quests Completed: N/A (wont be doing this storyline unless i cant find a mod that'll let me get the shouts locked behind it)
Dark Brotherhood Quests Completed: 20
Where Are They At In Those Questlines?: DB is completed main arc wise!
✧✧✧ Relationships
Relationship Status: Married to two lovely fellas
Current Companions: atm? none
Housecarls: Lydia & Rayya
Friends (outside of party): Zora Fair-Child, Inigo, Lucien, Anum-La, Morndas, Aela the Huntress, Nazir, Babette, Scouts-Many-Marshes, Isobel, Madesi
Children: Khash, Chases-Starlight, Ram-Ku. (going of where Tei is now - Otero & Mei come around later on in Tei's story!)
Romantic Interest(s): Kaidan & Rumarin.
Sexual Orientation:
GAY
✧✧✧ Religion
Pantheon: Yokudan, with a hint of Hircine worship in there
Patron Deity(ies): From the Yokudan pantheon: Tei mainly views HoonDing as their main patron, but also prays to/pays respect to Satakal.
They are also Hircine's champion.
Daedric Quests Completed: 3 (Hircine, Vile, Dagon - the last Tei didn't really help, moreso pissed off)
Aedric Quests Completed: 1 if you count the whole Alduin thing I guess?
How Devout Are They?: Tei is rather devout, esp to their Yokudan patrons, praying or making offerings daily. They aren't the type to really push it in your face though, but have no issues answering questions one might have.
How Do They Feel About Talos Worship?: Deep down they acknowledge & admit trying to ban worship is terrible, but....Tei also lets their bias/experience with Windhelm, the Stormcloaks & especially Ulfric kinda cloud over this. If the Nords want their old ways so damn much, why fight for a divine from the Imperial Cult? Why not go back to the actual old ways? No, this isn't about worship, not to the men leading this so-called rebellion, they just needed something other than their racist bullshit to fool the common man into throwing their lives away for the nobles sitting comfortable in their thrones.
Also during their whole thing of getting into their role of dragonborn, they get a bonus 'fuck this dude actually' towards Talos, Ysmir, whatever the fuck he calls himself. (tldr; it sucks but good luck hearing Tei say that fully)
✧✧✧ Politics
Gray-Mane or Battle-Born?: Neither, ask them again they will punch you for the love of Ruptga they get asked that every time they enter Whiterun.
Stormcloaks or Imperials?: Also neither, Tei hates em both n think they can all choke. Unfortunately they were forced to join the latter due to, yknow, calling dragons & causing massive damage in Imperial territories during isolated fits of rage and the group being more aggressive in wanting something in return for "letting it slide"....oops
Opinion on the Thalmor?: Oh absolutely despises them, they loudly complained having to work with them during the CW & would go out their way to disrupt their plans/piss them off. Sneaking was an option they did not take during the Embassy quest, if it helps paint the picture.
Opinion Of Ulfric Stormcloak?: Tei doens't say they hate people often...but they sure as hell hate Ulfric. Again, their experience in Windhelm added to this heavily, how both the Dunmer & Argonians were treated like shit, with no help whatsoever from the Jarl or guards when the local Nords targeted them. It's still up in the air if I keep this for Tei's story, but I have it where they knew Chases-Starlight's parents, who were killed. When Tei went up & demanded justice/an investigation, only to be brushed off because it "wasn't a priority," it completely destroyed what little empathy or hope they had left for Windhelm as a whole.
Opinion of The Empire?: Cowards too weak to continue fighting back against the Thalmor, in their opinion, & holds these views they grew up with even when being strong-armed into aiding them. If anything they're at least attempting to use their influence to hint towards a rebellion against the Thalmor, but the Empire could also full-on dissolve & they could give less of a shit.
Civil War Quests Completed: 0
✧✧✧ Personal
How Are They Doing? Need Some Juice? A Nap? A Hug?: The whole event of Blood of Kings has fucked with their head, to say the least. It's the starting point of Tei's eventual spiral. So uh...yeah they're not sure how they're doing everything they knew about reality was kinda challenged & they don't rlly have anyone to talk to about it so its cool, its fine, its all good.
A nap is probably needed, not sure about a hug theough they're super flinchy rn
Days Past In Game: 196
Hours of Sleep: 846
Food Items Consumed: 1833
How Many Playthroughs Have You Done With This Character: Tei actually is an older character from the 360 days so uh...maybe 5 at most? This playthrough & their S:EC one coming up when the mod releases being the main ones focusing on their story
Overall How's Your Level Of Fun: Alright I would say! I just been stepping away from Skyrim more often lately to avoid burning out from it
Must Have Mods To Play This Character (for story or other reasons): Ordinator, Wintersun Faiths, Immersive Armors, Sarcastic Player Dialogue, 3DNPC, Inigo, Lucien Flavius, Kaidan 2, Khash the Argonian, Alternative Start, Leviathan Animations, Beast Race Body Paints, Beast HHBB, Apocalypse Magic, Deadly Dragons, Growl: Werewolf Overhaul, Pronouns, uhhh....idk what else without actually listing my current modlist lmao
----
And that's it for Tei! Anyone who wants to do this go on ahead!

Touma pouting at his lovers
“WAH! IT’S NOT FAIR AT ALL!!!”
Rintaro pulled his nose out of the book he was buried in and gave him a questioning look. “What’s wrong, love?” he asked, putting his reading away and wrapping his arms around the other. “What’s got you all worked up this time?”
“It’s Ren! He’s been spoiling Ise too much and now Ise won’t pay attention to me!” Touma complained.
“I’m sure that’s not the case,” Rintaro stated with a hum, pressing kisses at the other’s neck. “Ise loves his Tou-chan very much, of course.”
“But... today I was trying to get Ise to sit with me at my desk, but he just ignored me! And when Ren came over he was so excited...” the author was now fully pouting, in spite of Rintaro’s ministrations. “And he doesn’t act like that with you or Kento and Mei...”
“What about us?” The door swung open and Kento and Mei walked in, their arms full of groceries. “What’s going on?” Mei asked.
“Ah, it seems someone hasn’t gotten enough attention from the baby,” Rintaro told them, going over to help them put away the shopping. “He’s jealous of Ren, of all people.”
“Ren? Why Ren?” Kento gaped at him.
Touma lagged behind him, but he took a bag from Mei and started sorting the items to put away in the cupboards. “It’s just... Ise seems excited whenever he’s around and not so much with me....” Touma said with a sad tone.
“Oh Touma, you silly goose,” Mei sighed, shaking her head. Touma sputtered in offense. “You really think Ise is gonna trade you for the little gremlin? Where did you get such a stupid idea?”
“That’s what I was telling him,” Rintaro pointed out. “Well, not the bit about Ren as a gremlin... but the general gist is the same.”
“Touma, if anything between the four of us you’re the favorite,” Kento said. “You’re the only one he hasn’t zapped at all, you know. And he’s zapped everyone, even Ren. Plus, he’s the least fussy when you’re the one putting him to bed.”
“Wait, really? I didn’t notice...” Touma said. “Does he really...?”
As if on cue, Ise stepped into the kitchen, having sensed the return of his parents. Even though Mei and Kento were the ones who left, the little dragon bounded up to his Tou-chan first, nipping at his heels and jumping up and down, his way of saying “I want cuddles!”
“Alright, alright.” Touma put what he was doing down and wrapped his arms around Ise. “Up we go!” Ise laughed as he lifted him up, holding him close to his chest.
Touma felt his worries fade away as Ise cooed, rubbing his head against Touma’s neck. How could he have ever thought that he’d lose Ise to Ren, or to anyone? (And it wasn’t like Ren was stealing Ise anyway, he just liked to dote on his “nephew”, just like they did.)
“See? You haven’t anything to worry about, Ise is- wait, what’s that, Touma?” Kento pointed to his neck area.
“What do you mean- Rintaro!” Touma exclaimed when he spotted his reflection off the mirror above the kitchen sink. “You already gave me a hickey?!”
“Ah, apologies, I got too excited,” the water swordsman said, not sounding very sorry at all.
“And we have a meeting with the Chief tonight, too.” Mei reminded Touma.
Now Touma’s pout was back in full force. “How am I supposed to look her in the eye with this?!”
“Maybe I should give you one on the other side to match,” Kento teased, leaning over Touma’s neck with a wicked grin.
“Perhaps one on the nape, too? Just to be safe?” Mei asked, pulling down the back of Touma’s shirt as she leaned up.
“No, Kento, Mei! Absolutely not! And not in front of Ise!”
(Needless to say, Touma ended up wearing a turtleneck- and a pout- to the meeting.)

Non-Review: Free Comic Book Day 2021 - The Legend of Korra (Also Featuring Avatar: The Last Airbender)
With all the hype around 'Suki Alone,' it looks to me like most of the fandom missed that an additional Avatar comic with a story from each cartoon's era was just released for Free Comic Book Day. You can read them for yourself on either Dark Horse Digital or Comixology where it's mislabeled as being for ages 17+ (free accounts are required for both), but I'm sure one of the reasons you all love me is because of my willingness to jump in between you and these comics like the deadly bullets they can be. Well, I'm happy to die (metaphorically) for the sake of (a little anonymous internet) love, so I'm doing a full snarky review for each ten-page story. Also, I'm bored, and it's more fun to make fun of mediocre stuff than to praise stuff I like.
It's time for me to review "Free Comic Book Day 2021 - The Legend of Korra (Also Featuring Avatar: The Last Airbender)" or more specifically "The Legend of Korra: Clearing the Air" and "Avatar: The Last Airbender: Matcha Makers."
CLEARING THE AIR
The cover makes this look like a story about Jinora and Ikki having a sibling conflict. That's a lie. The Air Sisters arguing is merely the inciting incident for Tenzin telling a story of his youth. I should note that, as inconsequential as the Air Sisters stuff is, it's actually written very well because it posits Ikki as a victim of circumstance and Jinora as a bully who terrorizes her little sister with threats of getting thrown in jail by Metalbenders for an accident, cementing the characterization from the cartoon. This is not sarcasm. I really do think Jinora is presented by LoK as a Holier Than Thou little snot who just so happened to be naturally gifted with magic spirit-powers, but for some reason the rest of the fandom doesn't agree with me.
Anyway, Tenzin comes in to find the arguing (and Meelo just running amok for the fun of it and so far these characterizations are perfect), and rather than telling Jinora to shut her stupid face, he delivers a tale of his youth about conflict resolution.
So the meat of the story is how, when Tenzin was "a few years older" than Jinora, a pair of vandals got onto Air Temple Island and burned some graffiti into the spinning-panel things that Korra will destroy out of frustration during her Airbending training. Literally, the vandals are depicted as scorching the wood with enough smoke to be seen across a plaza. Tenzin goes after the vandals and they flee across the bay back to Republic City proper (one of the vandals is a Waterbender with a surf-plank). Tenzin pursues, catches them, and attacks them hard enough to smash some dockside crates. They are all then arrested by Metalbenders and dragged before Chief Toph. She's going to let Tenzin go (yay Toph!) and throw the vandals in jail (YAY TOPH!) and makes this face, and this entire comic is worth it:
Tumblr media
However, Aang arrives and instead arranges to forgo the jail-time in favor of an Air Nomad Conflict Resolution Ceremony. This is nice and in-character, but I'm totally with Tenzin that these vandals should have been thrown in jail. They literally burned insulting graffiti into antiques from a genocided culture. But instead, Aang demonstrates conflict resolution by having Tenzin explain why he's hurt and what needs to be done to redress the wrong. And so the vandals help Tenzin scrub the graffiti off the panels with water and rags and mops- how, I don't know, since they were literally burned.
They also do a ceremony thing where they each take turns bending their element into a central space between them to 'clear the air' (GET IT GET IT HA HA IT'S ALMOST LIKE A PUN BUT NOT), so it's a good thing they were all Benders because this is kinda racist. This fixes all the problems and everyone is friends. Yay!
In the present, though, things are not so nice, because Tenzin's kids are still screaming at and provoking each other. Korra comes in with Asami at the end to ask what's going on, and Asami says nothing, so I still think everyone is characterized with perfect consistency with the cartoon.
I made this sound silly, but (aside from the spinny-panels getting cleaned with a little water and elbow-grease, which doesn't matter because Korra will eventually blow them all up anyway), I actually like this one. It has Tenzin demonstrate how much he's always had to work to be the Perfect Air Monk that everyone expects him to be, and Aang acknowledges how this is unfair but that Tenzin will never let him down no matter what. It also has Katara come in at the end (for just one line, boo!) to acknowledge that this was an especially easy little conflict for Tenzin to practice on and he'll eventually face worse. I found it a nice adult moment in a story that's otherwise clearly aimed at 8-year-olds.
The art is good. It's simpler than the LoK cartoon, with flat colors, but it captures the story and has enough liveliness for everyone's character to come across in their look and body-language. The brief action-sequence where Tenzin attacks the vandals is well done, moving quickly but showing the full flow of the fight and every move Tenzin makes.
MATCHA MAKERS
Apparently, "Matcha is finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea leaves, traditionally consumed in East Asia" according to Wikipedia. I had to look that up. I'm curious how many people understood the full reference in the title, especially since these comics are aimed at kids too young to be allowed on the internet.
This is a very simple story about Iroh in his tea-shop in Ba Sing Se. He has an assistant/waitress named Feng, a new character who wears glasses, ruining the hopes and dreams of all the fanfic-writers who were so sure he'd rescue Jin from the Lower Ring. A frequent patron of the tea shop is an elegant, older lady (very clearly Upper Ring material) named Li-Mei, who cannot go a single panel without giving Iroh a HEY BIG BOY look. She is very clearly smitten. Also, I feel the need to clarify that she knows his name is Iroh, so apparently Ba Sing Se is okay with the Dragon of the West serving tea to their wealthy. I don't say that as a criticism, I'm just noting it.
That night, Iroh meets up with his friends- the Pokemon-style spirits that we saw in Legend of Korra. (I don't know if they're the actual spirits from LoK, or just new spirits in the same style. This is because I would sooner grind matcha into my eyes than rewatch Book Spirits.) He serves them his special blend of tea and talks about how he's totally into Li-Mei but isn't going to pursue it because he's feeling old and doesn't want to take a risk. At this point, I could stop describing the plot because between the title and what I've said so far, I'm sure you could figure out every single plot beat that will follow.
The next day, the spirits trip Feng so that she drops Li-Mei's tea and Iroh needs to bring a replacement, and they've drawn hearts on top of the replacement tea with foam or sugar or milk or whatever. I don't know because I've never bought tea in a place that will even put the bag in the hot water for me. Iroh gets out of the situation without starting any love-affairs and runs into the back to tell the spirits to knock it off, dudes, they're totally embarrassing him! The spirits respond by giving him a flyer for a romantic restaurant. I don't know how they got it, so I can only assume that some Upper Ringer had their mail diverted.
Iroh refuses, so when Li-Mei orders more tea and he brings it to her, the spirits hover just out of her sight and threaten to smash the furniture. I am not making that up. They literally threaten to smash Iroh's furniture unless he asks the lady out. He submits to their tyrannical threats, Li-Mei happily accepts the date, he happily accepts her acceptance, and the story comes to a close. Iroh thanks his spirits friends for opening him up to new experience, but hopes that next time (so I guess Iroh is signing up for Tinder after this?) they won't threaten his shop.
At best, I can describe this story as 'harmless.' But it's been a long week and I just got a bunch more extra work at my day job that I really don't want to do, so I'm going to go ahead and call this story 'dumb.' It's rote, leans towards humor without actually being funny at all, and turns the spirits of the setting into Pokemon. And not even the cool dragon kind.
The art is strangely stiff. The coloring is soft and nice, but the drawings seems more 'assembled' than actually drawn. I swear there are even a few panels that reminded me of 'How I Became Yours' with janky poses, horrifying expressions, and just enough resemblance to the original cartoon to make me think a screenshot was partially traced and then ruined. (I'm not accusing the artist of tracing, BTW. I wouldn't even condemn the artist for tracing if they did. I'm just describing that HIBY feeling I got.) It was so stiff that rather than hear Iroh's dialogue in Mako's rich tones, I instead imagined Greg Baldwin doing a stiff Mako-impression with no naturalism to the delivery.
Tumblr media
This story is definitely worthy of its "Also Featuring" billing. I'd rate it below Gene Yang's Mai and Suki FCBD short stories, but above everything else he wrote for Avatar.
So there you go. Overall, this is very middle-of-the-pack for Avatar FCBD stuff. It's very much of the nature of the 'Team Avatar Tales' stuff, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Iroh story was a leftover from that project. On Free Comic Book Day, you often get what you pay for.

Glory of the Moon
A/N: This is split into four separate parts, and it’s also really long so uh yeah, sorry if the characters act ooc, I’m still trying to figure out who I want to write most of them, and I haven’t done character studies with any of the characters (minus solider:76) so sorry y’all.
This is also a GN reader for all the people that like GN readers, so any pronouns can go for the role of (Y/N) ;), have fun~
This is kind of my own idea, featuring Poly!Mchanzo but Mcree and (Y/N) are werewolves.
Summary: As the recall has been issued, new recruits start to flood into overwatch due to recommendations, from old and new allies. However, the newest recruit seems to have an interest in Hanzo, much to Jesse’s dislike.
Part I | Part II | Part III | Part IV
Tumblr media
“So, what do you think of the new recruit?” Was the first thing that came to Jesse’s ears that morning.
Jesse shrugged.
“Haven’t met ‘em yet.”
“Well, from what Lena tells me, his name is Dallas, and...he’s a werewolf.”
Now that caught Jesse’s attention.
“Another one? Damn, might as well make half of the base off limits during the full moon.”
“Bah! The only thing you and I do according to Hanzo is bother him with belly rubs.”
Jesse snickered.
“Speakin’ of Han, where is he?”
(Y/N) shrugged.
“Not sure, he said he wanted to go and train before people started filling it,” (Y/N) replied. “He says he doesn’t like it when he keeps people waiting.”
A pause.
“Liar.”
“Fine, he said that he doesn’t want Genji to come into the training ground and challenge him to a fight in the middle of the day.”
“That’s what I thought.”
“If you tell him that I told you that he’ll smother me with a pillow.”
“I...Ima tell him.”
“Jesse-mf-Mcree, you better not-”
                                                  ──•~❉+❉~•──
“Well ain’t he a sight.” Jesse muttered, as (Y/N), and him had come to the training grounds, seeing the new recruit.
(Y/N) could tell he was new, he didn’t have a uniform.
This man was dressed in black jeans, ripped jeans of course, (Y/N) smiled.
This man was young, maybe getting into his late 30’s, and with his white t-shirt and his black jacket, he knew this man at least had a fashion sense.
(Y/N) heard tapping of feet fill the air, and based on how fast they moved they knew automatically who it was.
“Heya Han, how you doin’?” Jesse said, beating (Y/N) to greeting the smaller man.
“Well, I was training, but the new recruit came and people filed in.”
“Ah! My friends!” Reinhart’s booming voice yelled. “Come meet the new recruit!”
“Speak of the devil.” Jesse muttered as the crowd parted.
(Y/N) crossed their arms and raised an eyebrow as the man walked over.
And Jesse extended a glance to (Y/N) as the man came into range.
This man was definitely a werewolf.
He practically wreaked of it.
However, (Y/N) couldn’t pinpoint what pack he was from, because he didn’t smell like an omega.
The man grinned at (Y/N).
“Alpha (Y/N)? Is that really you?”
(Y/N) smiled. “In the flesh, and you are?”
“Dallas! Dallas Starmonger! I’m from the western pack in Oregon!” He beamed. “It's an honor to speak to you!”
(Y/N) grinned.
“The western pack? Ain’t y’all-” Jesse began.
“And who is this?” Dallas asked, gesturing to Hanzo.
Hanzo paused.
“Oh, Hanzo Shimada, at your service.”
Dallas watched as the man extended the hand.
“No, the pleasure is all mine.”
And (Y/N) had to stop Mcree from storming over when the man kissed Hanzo’s hand.
Hanzo blinked as Dallas walked by, clicking his teeth and entering the base.
“What the ‘ell was that!” Jesse cried.
“A proper greeting?”
“He kissed yer hand, Han.”
“You do realize that is a form of greeting, Mcree?”
“But-”
(Y/N) shook their head.
“(Y/N), help me out ‘ere!”
“No. I’m gonna go train with Zarya and Mei, see ya.”
“But-but darlin’-!”
“Bye Jesse! Go talk to Dallas or somethin’!”
Hanzo snickered as Jesse crossed his arms and pouted.
“Are you jealous Jesse?”
“No.”
“Jesse, calm yourself, this man is a werewolf, if I am correct, your scent, as well as (Y/N)’s lingers on me, he’ll know to keep away.”
Jesse still pouted as Hanzo gave him a pat on the shoulder and walked into the hall, and turned to go towards the cafeteria.
He stood there for a bit.
Maybe he was just being paranoid.
                                               ──•~❉+❉~•──
“He still hasn’t said hello to me.” Jesse huffed.
(Y/N) shook their head.
“Jesse, he probably didn’t see you.”
“Didn’t see my ass, he looked right at me!” Jesse paused. “Somethin’ about this guy doesn’t feel right.” Another pause. “Jeez, if I had a dollar for everytime I caught that man staring at Han, I’d pay off my own goddamn bounty.”
(Y/N) rolled their eyes. “C’mon Jesse, you and I said that about Hanzo, and now look where we are, we’re all dating.”
“Tsk.” Jesse muttered, rounding the corner.
“And besides, Hanzo is the most observant out of us, if he knows something is up, he’ll know it before we do.”
“I just, I don’t-”
Jesse came to a halt, spying Hanzo and Dallas down the hall.
Hanzo was leaning against a wall, with Dallas hovering over him, the two engaged in casual chatter.
Jesse gestured to the two.
“See?”
“Jesse, be polite.”
“I am being polite!”
“Ah, (Y/N), and...Joel..?” Dallas began as the two walked over.
“It’s Jesse.” Jesse hissed.
“Ah, Jesse right,” Dallas corrected. “So, you  three are the only werewolves here?”
Hanzo raised an eyebrow. “Three?”
“Hanzo ain’t a werewolf,” Jesse muttered, and (Y/N) narrowed their gaze at him, noticing the slight attitude in his tone.
(Y/N) huffed at Jesse who narrowed his gaze even further.
“Ah, he’s a human then?”
“Yep.”
“Hm.” Dallas said. “That’s a good thing to know.”
“And why’s that?”
“Jesse, calm-”
“No no, it's fine,” Dallas said, scratching the back of his neck. “I heard that the new recruits get paired to spar against the older recruits, so I just wanted to know so I can go easy on him-”
“You do not have to go easy on me. I can handle it.” Hanzo replied.
Dallas then grinned.
“Really?”
“Yes.”
“Nice, well, see you guys around, Mrs.Amari still has to show me around!”
As the man ran off, (Y/N) immediately turned to Jesse.
“Jesse, you need to take a chill pill.”
“I’m completely chill darlin’. Completely.” Jesse snapped through gritted teeth.
                                               ──•~❉+❉~•──
Things didn’t get much better between Jesse and Dallas.
But they did between Dallas and Hanzo.
Hanzo found a mutual understanding in Dallas.
Dallas, was raised in a crime family as well, with his father being a member of the mafia.
Unlike Hanzo’s father, Dallas’ was just a member, not the leader.
So he understood the expectations.
Alas, Dallas ran away, not wanting to participate in such violent things, and joined overwatch to help, is what Dallas told him anyways.
He found himself having to speak to Dallas by himself, or with (Y/N) around, since Jesse and Dallas never got along.
This led to...a lot of fights between (Y/N) and Jesse, whenever (Y/N) caught Jesse being rude.
Hanzo sat in the background most of the time when the two fought.
Tempers flared high between the two as of right now, not just because of this new recruit, but  the full moon was tonight.
Which meant Hanzo tried to keep his distance, but again, there was a fight, and he didn’t leave in time.
                                                 ──•~❉+❉~•──
“Jesse what hell were you thinking!” (Y/N) cried as Jesse merely looked at the floor.
“God! Can’t you get your head out of your ass for two seconds and actually try to get along with this guy?”
“He called me an Omega!”
“So what! I get called an Omega too? It isn’t rare, Jesse!”
“He knew that I’d punch him if I said that!”
“He did not Jesse. I bet Dallas is just tired of you being rude to him so he decided to be rude back!”
“Why the hell are you taking his side?”
“I’m not taking anybody’s side Jess’, why would you think I’d do that to you!”
“Then why don’t ya say anythin’!” A pause. “He interrupts me, ignores me, and yet you say nothin’! You’re a goddamn alpha, he’ll listen to you!”
“No he won’t! He’s an alpha too Jess’!”
Jesse let out a groan of frustration.
“And what about Han? Huh, I guess you don’t see him feel ‘im up him do ya?”
“He’s never done that before!”
“Yes he has!” Jesse yelled, his voice getting louder.
Hanzo tensed as the shouting would get louder, and the grip on his book tightened.
Soon, the book slammed shut, causing (Y/N) and Jesse to turn to him.
“Can you two please cease this useless fighting!” Hanzo cried. “It brings us nowhere!”
Silence.
“(Y/N), Jesse isn’t going to like everyone, but Jesse, you must be polite to Dallas, it's unprofessional and he is your team member!”
“Han-”
“No! You are both acting like children, hell, I can’t sit down and have a meal without you two fighting about this man! He is just a man!”
And that was the last straw.
Hanzo marched past the two enraged werewolves, who were still silent.
“I’m going to meditate, do not bother me.”
And the door shut, and frankly, (Y/N) and Jesse swore the door sounded louder than before.
                                                         ──•~❉+❉~•──
It was always calming in the zen garden.
It was built by request of Genji and Zenyatta.
Hanzo was thankful it was late, Genji and Zenyatta tended to meditate during the day.
So as of right now, he was alone.
The calming atmosphere almost always brought some peace to his mind.
Near the fountain, eyes shut.
However, they snapped open as the leaves brushed next to him.
He turned, and spotted Dallas coming out of the bushes.
A water bottle in hand.
And a towel wrapped around his neck.
Dallas paused.
“Oh, heya Hanzo, how are you doing?”
“I am fine, you?”
Dallas frowned.
“I know that look,” He said. “Joel and (Y/N) fought again I’m guessing?”
“Is it that obvious?” A pause. “And his name is Jesse.”
Dallas muttered an apology before sitting down, next to Hanzo.
Hanzo fidgeted.
“What...are you doing here?”
“Oh, I was working out with Reinhart and Junkrat, but I got tired and left early,” He said, placing the bottle down. “God, those two have so much stamina.”
Hanzo shook his head.
“Indeed.”
Silence.
“You...want a sip?”
“What?”
“Of my water.”
“Erm..no thank you.”
“You sure? Dr.Ziegler told me that you tend to meditate for hours, it shouldn’t hurt to drink something small.”
Hanzo thought for a moment, his dragons spoke to him, telling him to go see (Y/N) and Jesse.
He brushed it off and grabbed the water bottle, taking a few gulps.
“See? Isn’t that better?”
Hanzo shook his head.
“I suppose.”
Dallas grinned.
“Doesn’t Winston have some fruit here?”
“This isn’t the greenhouse, Dallas.”
“I know but it doesn’t hurt to look right?”
Hanzo sighed.
“You may look, but I am not.”
“Alright, see ya tomorrow then.”
“Farewell.”
Hanzo shut his eyes yet again.
                                            ──•~❉+❉~•──
After fifteen minutes, Hanzo felt off.
His head was pounding, his arms felt weak.
Slowly, he opened his eyes.
When were the lights this bright.
Hanzo stood up-
He wobbled and fell against the fountain, gripping his head.
His vision was getting more distorted and blurry every time he blinked.
He heard footsteps behind him.
“God, it was easy breaking into this place.” A voice said off in the distance.
“You sure this is the place?”
Hanzo hobbled forward, only to fall to the ground.
“Oh it's the place alright.” He heard Dallas’ voice interrupt.
Through his blurred vision, he saw the faint outline of Dallas, crouching near him.
The corner of his eyes began to turn to black, as he felt himself be lifted from the ground and placed on Dallas’ shoulder.
“Welcome to the Eastern Pack of Spain, Hanzo Shimada.”

*crashes in* random but when you're in the mood- HCs on my Us-verse Class 1A? Particularly Us! Deku, Kacchan, Hitoshi, Monoma and Aizawa meeting the canon Class 1A and/or 1B? Oohhhh or Canon All Might and Canon Izuku realizing that Us!Kacchan is the bearer of OfA? Or just thoughts on meeting a Deku that's a DRAGON (particularly if HTTYD is a famous franchise in canon as well as Us). Or- anything really XD.
Ooooo hell yeah, here we go. I love this AU (LINK) for those curious, it’s an AU wherein Izuku is hit with a quirk while saving katsuki that turns him into- essentially- a Nightfury and it is FANTASTIC.
--Izuku would like to know why it’s always him. Like. Every time.
Kacchan, Hitoshi, Monoma, and Aizawa would ALSO like to have words with whatever is Targeting Izuku, b.c nine times out of ten, they get dragged along WITH him, and some of this stuff is RIDICULOUS
Falling though a dimension portal is not fun.
--Thankfully Izuku can fly, and everyone involved is rather good at adjusting themselves midair for NightFury Flight Acrobatics, and everyone is relatively safe when they glide to the ground (Izuku still isnt fully grown, and handling FOUR people at one time, three larger, hero course fit males, and one full grown pro hero male was NOT as easy as it someday would be.
--But they all land, and no one is dead so NAILED IT.
--And then they see the others.
The other students. The Other Aizawa-sensei. The other Them. Everyone is frozen, staring at each other, both aizawa’s moving in front of their students, and eyeing each other for anything threatening, but the students?
-Izuku, Katsuki, Hitoshi, and Monoma are frozen, staring at the student to the side of the Other Aizawa. The student with green hair and eyes, who sparks like Katsuki does in their world, and they can’t breathe.
--Katsuki almost bursts into tears. That’s Izuku. THATS IZUKU.. THAT’S A HUMAN, GROWING IZUKU WHO DIDN’T SAVE HIM AT THE COST OF HIS HUMAN FORM.
That’s what his best friend, his brother, is supposed to look like
That’s what he would look like, if Katsuki had been faster-
--Hitoshi stares. He’s seen the very rare baby/childhood photos from Before of Izuku. He’d eventually earned the right to be shown them. Seeing Izuku human was...strange. When he scanned over the class in front of him he noticed a few things:
One: He was not present
Two: Monoma was not present
Three: Katsuki was much more...aggressive and angry. He wasn’t...balanced, wasn’t as stable.
Forth: From the sparks coming of Human!Izuku, he was the one who has Toshi’s One for All.
--Aizawa has never been so glad for Nedzu’s stupid code lessons for UA teachers. Now if only he could be certain they held true here, wherever here was.
“It’s a code TL-2377-D.”
Small mercies,  the other him straightens up after a moment where he can see himself flipping through codes. (Time Lapse 2377-Dimensional)
“Forced or Accidental?”
Aizawa growls “Forced.”
--They don’t get much further than that when the air above their heads rips open, and the villain who had forced the dimension hop falls through.
--Izuku lets out a territorial, furious shriek and all the Others flinch at it, but the travelers react to it as they are meant to.
Aizawa turns, body braced, Monoma falls back to his side, hand  out and pressing into Aizawa’s neck, to copy his quirk. Katsuki throws himself up with his explosions, even as Izuku launches himself into the vertical climb that is still just as impressive as always. As soon as Izuku has enough lift and straightens out a bit, Katsuki falls into place on his back, and Hitoshi’s scarf flies upward, caught in a paw, before he hauls himself into his place at Katsuki’s back.
-They are focused and devastating. Monoma and Aizawa have their fair share of fighting too, capture scarf, carefully timed Erasure between the two of them, so that the villain never has more than a small moment of free quirk use.
Afterwards  you are totally right there’s a FLIP OUT when it comes out that Deku is a NIGHTFURY, bc HTTYD IS totally a famous movie set in this verse.
Deku rants about the quirk opportunities, as he is always liable to do, and Izuku rants RIGHT BACK and kacchan and Hitoshi and the others despair bc theres TWO OF THEM, and they’re both at Max Mumble speed but they can understand each other (bc at this point Dragon Izuku has TOTALLY got a high tech voice-corder thing from Mei that  can keep up, and BONUS he will later have vocal recordings of what his ACTUAL VOICE is/was supposed to sound like, you bet he’s gonna use that later)
(On that note, Katsuki has a mental emotional upheaval the first time he hears DEKU”S VOICE- he’d almost forgotten what it sounded like WHEN HAD THAT HAPPENED, when had he FORGOTTEN- b/c he hasnt heard the RIGHT voice, IZUKU’S VOICE since they were children and this is....a lot)
Two Izuku who can BOUNCE IDEAS off each other at light speed with their genius minds able to follow the other’s leaps of logic are TERRIFYING for EVERYONE INVOLVED.
--Katsuki takes this time to have a TALK with his counterpart, b.c he recognizes all the rage, and spite and everything he had come to HATE about his younger self in this teen version of him. He can see it’s improved, but it’s....horrifying to see what he could have been without the things that happened to him, and if he can save THIS version of himself from having to suffer like he did to learn it? He’s going to. Even if he has to beat it into his own skull.
--Hitoshi takes this chance to talk to the OTHER Aizawa, ask if he was mentoring him HERE as well (answer is yes, NICE) and then offer advice. He can’t say THIS him wouldn’t be different, Probably would be, since he didn’t appear to have the support system Hitoshi did, but he can still offer it.
--Monoma takes a moment to chat, and learns very quicky that THIS version of him is still ABSOLUTELY suffering the complex of his younger years, with no Monster Trio to knock him out of it, and welcome him anyway.
He hands out advice on how to handle him, and answers what questions he feels he can, just in case this world is much different than his own. Hopefully SOMEONE can knock him out of it in the trio’s place since he’s not here for Monoma to do it himself.
--Basically everyone takes this as a giant learning opportunity and Izuku gives everyone who’s brave enough to ask a ride on his back, bc he gets it.
Dragon.
NIGHTFURY.
(Look, even though he’s a nightfury now, Izuku still loved the movies and books too, so he can just imagine what these guys feel like in a world where Izuku never got turned into a night fury, and he’s not well known.
Everyone wanted to be hiccup.)
He....also possibly maybe manages to get the Other Aizawa to SLEEP for a while using the power of Full Body Purring.
Shhhh.

blister
blister achieving elysium | read on AO3
It’s been about three months since Galo has seen Lio’s face. Okay, well, not just his face, but the point is that three months is like, way too long.
But Galo gets it. The Burnish need care, and help, and a leader. Where Galo’s shiny, Burnish-Flare fighting tech is a little too much for fighting regular fire, and the Burning Rescue’s original purpose is gone—there’s still work to do. Still fires to put out with his burning soul. For the Burnish, though… everything is gone. It’s a chilling thought.
Every now and then he checks in with Lio; the guy seems to be in a different place whenever Galo calls. One day he’s half around the world, the other Galo catches him glowering at some poor Promepolis official. He’s trying to help the Burnish find family, rebuild, sorting out logistics, fighting the deep-rooted prejudices that Galo suddenly realizes has been everywhere for the past thirty years.
Yeah. Galo gets it.
So he doesn’t expect to see Lio Fotia on the other side of the door when he’s rudely woken up at some ungodly hour.
“Lio!”
“That’s my name,” Lio says dryly, picking at his sleeve.
“You’re here!”
And then Galo’s brain catches up, because the poor thing works really hard and takes some time, you know?
“Holy shit—Lio! You’re here. At my apartment!” He squints. “And it’s like, two in the morning.”
Lio cringes. It’s such a non-Lio movement that Galo pauses, realizing he’s crossed the boundaries of what Remi keeps calling ‘personal space.’ He backs off.
Lio takes a breath. “I…”
And he falters.
Okay, so Lio is being super not-Lio. Okay. The Lio Galo remembers made a fucking dragon out of fire, would have thrown himself into anything to save the Burnish, was quick and confident and sure. He’s not— pale and shivering, eyes low. Suddenly Galo shifts, and the dim light catches on a dark smudge on Lio’s face. Blood.
“You got a little, uh….” Galo blurts, “uh, you’re bleeding!”
Lio cracks a smile. Lio’s bleeding, and he’s smiling.
“I’m well aware,” he says, and his lashes flutter against his cheeks. “I can leave. If I’m… inconveniencing you.”
“Dude,” Galo says, like it’s the most obvious thing in the world. “You’re bleeding. Come in.”
He steps back into his apartment, and Lio follows, right hand clasped around his left wrist. He slips his shoes off and walks quietly behind—ghostlike. The last time Lio was here he’d walked into the place like he owned it, familiarizing himself in the space. He’d made box mac n’ cheese in the kitchen, eating it curled up in front of the news on TV.
They head right into the bathroom, where Galo has a dedicated cabinet full of first-aid kits. Lio sits on the floor with his back to the bathtub, watching warily as Galo pulls out a clear box.
“I’ll take it from here,” he says when Galo cracks his kit open.
Galo frowns.
It’s not like Lio isn’t capable. Lio’s capable of plenty, even without the Promare. He commands a room with his presence; he can draw every eye to him with the same magnitude as he can make them look away. Galo’s seen him stare down every Promepolis official there is, every person who worked on the Parnasuss Project. Galo’s seen him run a soothing hand down a child’s back. He’s seen Lio smile, and it’s kind of one of the coolest things in the world.
But he also remembers back when the mess had only begun—Meis pulling him aside and saying, you gotta help us look out for Boss ‘cause he’s not too good at doing it for himself. And the other one, Guiera; he doesn’t know how to ask for help.
Galo had promised.
“I can help you,” he says. In the fluorescent light he sees Lio. Drawn, tired. There’s bruising forming along his jaw. The blood’s from a cut along his cheek. Galo tries for a smile. “We’re not Galo de Lion for nothing, right?”
Lio sighs. His eyes close for a second—Galo jerks, thinking Lio’s passed out.
But then Lio opens them again, and says, “Alright.”
Before Galo can react, Lio’s twisting. He carefully unzips the jacket, a size too big, and peels it away. Galo throws himself backward when he sees the mottled skin on Lio’s arm. Burns.
“...Lio?”
Lio doesn’t meet his eyes. His breathing is uneven. Slowly Galo scuttles forward on the bathroom floor and takes Lio’s hand, gently straightening his arm to get a closer look.
“Why didn’t,” Galo’s voice doesn’t sound right, “you go to… the hospital, or, or, why didn’t— you’re welcome here, don’t— who?”
Lio shrugs with his uninjured shoulder. “I can’t go anywhere else,” he murmurs, “I trust you.”
Lio’s fingers curl around his. Galo’s shaking, but he doesn’t let go. He’s trained for this. He’s a member of the Burning Rescue—he forces himself to stop shaking and reaches for a towel, throwing it into the tub and running cool water.
“Lio,” Galo says, to the sound of running water, “what… happened?”
Lio bites his lip, glaring angrily at the ground. There. Anger. Galo can work with that.
“Fire doesn’t protect me anymore,” Lio says after a moment. He doesn’t make a sound when Galo pressed the cool compress to his arm. He doesn’t even flinch, but his fingers twitch. “I knew that. But people started figuring that out, too.”
There’s a sort of ugly picture forming in Galo’s mind.
“You’re not a bad guy,” Galo whispers.
“Not everyone sees it that way.” Lio closes his eyes, dropping his head forward against Galo’s shoulder. He’s shivering, so Galo reaches for the jacket on the ground and half-drapes it over Lio’s shoulders.
“So someone…”
His stomach churns like the time he’d challenged Varys to a pizza-eating contest. He can see it. A dark figure grabbing Lio— the dizzying light of a fire catching— Lio, alone, Lio, hurt—
“Did you fight back?”
Lio shakes his head, hair shifting across Galo’s skin. Galo reaches for the antibiotic cream.
“Why… you’re not the type to take a hit lying down.”
Lio huffs a laugh. “So the ex-Mad Burnish terrorist leader attacks an innocent citizen. Then what? My months of work turn to ash. People are scared. What will my people do if I’m arrested? What will they do when the government decides we’re not innocent?”
“You are!”
“It’s hard to believe sometimes,” Lio says.
“I’m gonna punch them.”
Apparently it’s the right thing to say, because Lio laughs. “Idiot,” he says, but the word is fond. “You can’t just punch problems. And they’re not your problems, either.”
“Ah. Nuh-uh. Your problems, my problems,” Galo says. “We’re a team. We share stuff. Sometimes too much stuff, like when Lucia takes shit from the Burning Rescue communal pile of snacks, because wow, she really puts that stuff away— anyway, your problems, my problems.”
He finishes wrapping Lio’s arm. It’ll do for now; maybe later Galo can drag him to a clinic or call in a favor to get it looked at.
“Are you hungry? Aina sent us all home with leftovers yesterday, and did you know that Varys is really good at making cookies? What I’m saying is we’ve got robot cookies. And—”
“No,” Lio says firmly. He lifts his head again, and Galo reaches without thinking with the towel to wipe at the blood on Lio’s face. Lio goes still.
“Sorry,” Galo says.
“I trust you,” Lio repeats. His eyes flicker.
“Sleep,” Galo decides. “Sleep fixes everything.”
“Almost everything,” Lio says. He stands and takes a very convincing step—but Galo grabs him when Lio’s legs give out and he crumples.
“I got you,” Galo tells him, lifting Lio up. Lio weighs, like, nothing. Sure, he can knock a guy in the face as hard as anyone else, but Lio’s also small. He doesn’t eat a couple pizzas on the regular, and it totally shows.
Whatever’s been keeping Lio going just— disappears now. He goes quiet and limp in Galo’s arms. Pain tightens his face. He’s just hurt, and Galo hates it, hates that people can’t see how cool Lio is.
“I’ll be out of here tomorrow morning,” Lio says, curling towards the edge of the bed. He’s surprised Lio doesn’t protest more; he’d slept uncomfortably on the couch the last time he crashed at Galo’s place. But maybe he’s too tired to care now. Galo climbs in after setting him down, their backs pressing together to share a spot of warmth.
“You can stay,” Galo mumbles. “However long you need to. Lio.”
Lio’s silent for so long Galo almost believes he’s fallen asleep.
But finally— “Thank you, Galo Thymos.”
Galo grins. “We’re friends.”
“I tolerate you.”
“That’s a whole lot of tolerating,” Galo says. Lio sighs.
Galo breathes in. It’s reassuring, to feel Lio pressed to his back. He feels like he’s been missing something for a while now, missing that surge of right when he and Lio had piloted together for the first and the last time in perfect synchronicity. When the fire had flowed from them.
“I missed you,” Galo admits. It’s easy to say that with their backs against each other, staring at the distant shapes in the darkness. He doesn’t have to look at Lio’s face, or expect anything. “And I’m glad you… I want to help you.”
“We’re a team, aren’t we?” Lio says, so quietly Galo almost misses it. “I hate being weak.”
Galo wants to roll over, wants to look at Lio’s face, but he thinks no. Lio won’t face him, not like this.
“You’re not.”
“And I’m tired.” He’s talking about a lot more than just tired, Galo knows. Tired of fighting, he thinks, and tired of suffering, and tired of holding things together.
“You’re not alone,” Galo tells him, “you know that?”
Lio hums. It’s enough for Galo to close his eyes, to let his own tiredness wash over him. The warmth between them.
“I’m with you,” Lio says. “Tell me that again—tomorrow.”
Tomorrow, Galo thinks. He reaches back, searching, and Lio takes his hand. Yeah. There will be a tomorrow, for healing, and for waking, and Lio will have him if nothing else.
