can't decide if I want to be a gynecologist or if I want to marry one
#If I marry one we can open a practice together and she can oversee cesarean sections#and that guarantees I can prescribe medicine in any US state without needing to get approval from a man nor from any physician#Whom I have no way of vetting the level of work they've done to unlearn a male medical bias or to be pro woman in their practice#And /I/ don't have to go to med school and learn science that is primarily based around the male body for 5 years#despite my goal profession(s) being centered entirely around female health & biology. And /i/ don't have to pay for med school#but on the other hand. I COULD become a gynecologist and then#I could do exactly the same job I want to do as a nurse + I am a fucking Doctor + a woman in STEM + I get the same benefit of being able#to write prescriptions as I would if I married an OB/gyn and there's no barriers depending on the state I work in#+ I can perform cesarean sections and I don't have to leave my patients safety in the hands of the nearest hospital surgeon#In the event of an EMERGENCY. like if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself and all that#and also I make hella bank as a doctor like I make some hardcore moolah#Money is a good idea most of the time in my opinion#But at the same time like. Do /I/ wanna be in charge of cutting a woman open? Uhhhhhhhh#I mean. I smoke weed yall. and I watch children cartoons all day. XD He then headed off to bed while Smiler finished up their turbine repairs and raided the resultant junk piles for parts --
-->And then, I spotted some catchable fireflies near the side of the house! :D I've been waiting for these to spawn for AGES! I promptly had Smiler grab them, which put three of the little glowy buggers in their inventory. Nice -- finally, Smiler can start making Sadness Alleviation Lotions to add to their stores of herbalism potions in the store! Always good to have more product. :) With that sorted, Smiler proceeded to the robot workbench to make chatterbots, because need more product THERE too. Alice returned from her hunt and went to hang out with them for a while as she ate her steak...
-->But uh-oh, what's this on the front porch? Seems a visiting old lady (who I suspected of being a sneaky vampire) was being menaced by a particularly angry specter! Fortunately, Alice had a nice painting in her inventory that she could present to the angry blob. . .and even more fortunately, said angry blob liked it, departing from the premises and paying Alice back in another forbidden candy jar! I know you don't usually like sweets, Alice, but I think you'd better accept these ones. XD
-->With that, all that remained was for Alice to head upstairs, lick herself clean, change back to herself, and head to bed to join Victor while Smiler continued making bots and mechanisms (watched over by Shadow)...but the amazing bed meant that the pair were soon up again. Spotting that the phonograph in the living room was broken, I had Victor repair it (the traditional way -- I clicked on the option by accident, but then was like, "Well, he DOES like Handiness") while Alice emptied out the storage in the litter boxes, then both of them joined Smiler in the crafting barn -- Victor to experiment with potion brewing, Alice to use the bulk processor at home to make some sugar for future canning purposes. Keeping busy, as they always do!
And with that, this episode comes to an end! Next time -- it's the day before Harvestfest, and Victor has a magical trip to make...

for those wondering i ended up going with an AT2040 and a scarlett audio interface which I'll be using going forward as the quality im seeing from it is stellar for the price
#i promise i did read through the recommendations but the at2040 doesnt need phantom power which is better for my setup#and the ease of use made it very easy. maybe if i ever have the moolah and time to swap again ill check out some of the other mics#PLUS the boom arm that came witj my yeti fit the 2040 sooo i am so happeys new toy new toy
