#I love them so much purely because of the comedic potential

Jetko is the funniest fucking ship because like you have other ships like zutara or zukka and it’s like “blue/red dynamics enemy to friends to lovers” or something like that. Or you have other ships like kataang and sukka and they’re just pure true love couples. Meanwhile jetko is in the background with the two trash boys setting things on fire and actively making each other the worst versions of themselves and that’s just how it’s meant to be.

The news about Tanchico does confirm that when Rafe said a closer adaptation of TSR, he really meant a close adaptation, because that was definitely the easiest storyline to shift to another city that would appear again later on if he wanted to combine storylines (Perrin's plotline could only happen in the Two Rivers, and Rand's plotline can only happen in the Aiel Waste).
So I think a reread of TSR is in my future, lol, so I can refresh myself on the story beats.
Tanchico means Egeanin, I would guess. Otherwise you'd move their story closer to everyone else's action. So the show likely plans to keep the pressure on re: the Seanchan.
It does make going to White Tower feel even less likely (and I already had the likelihood of it pretty low) because that would be a LOT of ping-ponging for Elayne and Nynaeve, to go from the west coast to the middle of the continent and then back over to the west coast in the space of something like two or three episodes purely dedicated to traveling around. At least for Egwene, the White Tower is kinda 'on the way' to the Waste. The White Tower is definitely NOT on the way to Tanchico from Falme, lol.
The biggest question that I have is how long we'll get before the characters split up into their various plotlines and if any of them come back together again at the end of the season. From what else Rafe said at NYCC, it sounds like they are not dipping very far into TFoH at all, because he talked about focusing on a single book this season. There will definitely be things from books 1-3 in there, because we know Elaida, etc. have been cast and need some kind of introduction, but the main focus will be book 4.
A pretty good chunk of TSR does take place before anyone goes to the Waste, so I wonder how much of that we'll get. I do expect us to get the official final breakup of Rand & Egwene, though I doubt it will be comedic like it is in the books. I feel like they shouldn't rush right into Rand & Elayne afterwards (which is a major reason that I do hope they're planning to reunite Elayne & Nynaeve with Rand's side of the storyline at the end of the season, because that gives some space in between the breakup and then Rand and Elayne having serious emotions about each other), and Rand & Aviendha are built for a slow-burn. Plus I would expect Lan and Nynaeve to get some time together (their only time together in s2 was Nynaeve's vision in the third archway) before they split up (for the rest of the season?).
If Doman is the one who carries Elayne & Nynaeve to Tanchico, then that's the set-up for him to meet Egeanin there. Then Elayne and Nynaeve could potentially take a Sea Folk raker at the end of the season to reunite with Rand's half of the cast? But that really depends on how quickly Rand's side of the story is moving.
I definitely don't remember all the plot beats of Nynaeve & Elayne's side of TSR, so that reread is in order, yeah. But their TFoH plotline of having Nynaeve and Elayne just wandering the continent for most of s4 because Nynaeve can't remember the word 'Salidar' would feel like such a random & pointless sidequest especially since Rand & Elayne and Nynaeve & Lan still need a lot more weight in their romances at this point (and I'm saying that as someone who likes a lot of their circus arc in TFoH).
Even with knowing that they'll be following TSR more closely, I am definitely expecting a lot of surprises in s3. They did a really good job in putting in some elements in this season that I was not expecting but that I really loved (having Mat be the one to give Rand the wound in his side was so galaxy-brained of them; and having Elayne be the one to heal it really tied together her original meeting with Rand into the different way that the show has introduced her).

I’m gonna jump on the train. I just think it’ll be hilarious to have a gn!r be a gentle giant, and everyone trusts them with their lives except for Sam 😭.
Sam: you’re tall, crazy fast and strong. You’re always fucking hot.
Tara: HEY!
Sam: I MEANT BODY HEAT, TARA! It’s suspicious. I know what you are…
R: *just a confused lil (gigantic) guy* what am I?
*everyone at the same time*
Tara: my love (a simp)
Mindy and Chad: a werewolf!
Sam: ghostface!
*everyone is hella confused now*
Mindy: I though you were trying to quote twilight and wanted the lines to fit R….
Chad: same
Tara: *covering her face*
Sam: uhhh…
R: does this mean you don’t like me? 🥺
Everyone would immediately want to give Sam a bonk. Cause how dare she make R feel bad!? They’re literally just a lil guy. They all know R would protect them with their life. I just know Sam would feel hella guilty after seeing a pout.
(I’m running on caffeine and spite rn 🫡)
-🤠
No because that sweet baby would just be over there cleaning, or making snacks, bringing everyone drinks while they're talking over all their Ghostface theories, and Sam is just watching them the whole time like "🤨 hmmmm." And the worst part? Sam is NOT afraid to call them out and the poor thing is over there looking like a kicked puppy because "I thought you liked me? But I made cookies 🥺"
Listen, I'm obsessed with just a pure, sweet, gentle giant that Sam just can't stop being suspicious of, it's got so much comedic potential
(Bruh you and me BOTH 🫡)

I love the idea of Shadow actually being just a massive dork so much. "But it's OOC!" The person in the back cries, and I silence them - because Shadow being a dork is FUN DAMNIT. Like you'd obviously never guess from the outside - he's cold, emotionally repressed, and always trying to keep up his intimidating persona.
But then someone gets close enough to peel back those layers and reveal the absolute dork underneath it all - he has a dream of wanting to open up a cat orphanage, he volunteers at soup kitchens, he loves flower arranging, he keeps a dark wardrobe that he barely wears purely for aesthetic purposes, he writes poetry, and he likes the chao in space movies and even featured in one. I don't like to consider the Twitter Takeovers full proof canon but these are all things legit out of Shadow's mouth and I think its adorable and I think he deserves to be a lil' softie sometimes. I love the idea that when his walls break down - he's actually a pretty goofy little thing. Which leads me into his approach to romance...
While I love aromatic headcanons for Shadow - I also love the complete opposite approach of making Shadow a complete hopeless romantic. He's so extra and dorky that he sets up fancy candle lit dinners, scatters rose petals, and hires a personal violinist just for a single date, and he'd definitely recite romantic poems to Sonic. Meanwhile Sonic is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum - romance? Psssht, he doesn't know what that means. He's perfectly content to chill with Shadow by a chilidog stand, that's totally cool.
I adore the comedic potential of this concept and how it's yet another way to make the two hedgehogs opposites.

anyway, here are my qsmp election thoughts:
-I think q!Cellbit/Forever are the most qualified in terms of adequate game knowledge, desire to drive forward the lore, community support, and passion for the position. HOWEVER as a viewer it is the most boring choice. I enjoy qsmp for the serious lore AND the goofy funny stuff, and I think that insaneduo are a little too serious for it to be an interesting outcome. I also think that while being president might motivate their charcters in an interesting way, the aftermath of losing the presidency might be even more interesting and could start a q!Forever villain arc which I personally would enjoy a lot
-q!Baghera would be a good choice for her heart and passion, and it would be a good move for her character, but I think she fundamentally lacks the presence needed to convince people to vote for her. If she was able to take more control over the debates and presented her points with more confidence she would be a more formidable opponent
-q!Etoiles would be an extremely good pick due to his knowledge of the land itself and the mods. He is also extremely charismatic and everyone seems to love him, despite him not being overly interactive with the others on the island. But, like q!Baghera, he lacks a presence necessary to be president, and because he is generally more comfortable on the sidelines I don't see him pulling the necessary votes
-q!Mike, q!Felps, and q!BBH would be good choices if not for the other candidates who are such powerhouses. These three simply fall into the background. I think they work more as counsel members/those in the presidential cabinet because they work well as sources of knowledge/power/etc., just not as leaders themselves
-ElQuackity would be the choice that I think presents the most narrative opportunity, but I think it is something that has been seen before (the bad intentioned candidate wins, usually by unfair means, leaving the rest of the characters in a state of despair but motivating them to fight back against a common enemy). Further, he hasn't presented much in the debates other than defending himself (though I feel this is mostly because the federation is using him as a pawn and they have programmed him with as little information as necessary, leaving his presidential promises vague). If the story is going as people expect, he will win no matter what, but I would also love to see q!Quackity somehow come back/regain control and stop things before it all goes to hell (because it will 100% go to hell if ElQuackity is elected)
-Gegg is by far (and I do not say this lightly) the best choice for president. I know it sounds wild, but Gegg is the candidate that presented the most level-headed and dogmatically coherent arguments in the debate, all of which actually would help the island from a lore prespective. His based views with his slimy goopy exterior makes him the best choice that is a perfect balance of serious lore potential and silliness. Of course he won't win because he is fucking Gegg (unless we get a full Geggolution and he can speak bc there is no way they are electing a president who has to write on signs), but I think he genuinely has the votes and the overall love by those on the island
-Now we come to q!Foolish. I know he seems like the purely silly candidate, and most of how he has approached the election has been from a strictly comedic relief standpoint, BUT I think he is the best candidate to win with a real chance of doing so. I think narratively it presents a perfect opportunity for q!Foolish to go full villain if he wanted, or to generally develop as a character as he takes on responsibility. He is on the server a ton, everyone loves him, and he has one of the strongest members as his partner. Not only that, he is generally knowledgeable about the game and the land, he knows about and is involved in the lore, and he is first and foremost creatively wired. He will offer the silliness that the qsmp needs while having those closest to him (like q!BBH and q!Cellbit) who are very lore-focused and can push him in certain directions to make lore decisions. The only fault I find is that q!Foolish is an english speaker, and I would love if another culture/language was represented in such a position, but it isn't a deal breaker for me. Truly I think electing q!Foolish would be the most narratively interesting choice while also allowing for the qsmp to stay silly, which is one of the largest appeals and what many creators who are more lore-focused come to the server for

something else to say about House of Anubis’ Season 3 + Touchstone of Ra
something i never liked about s3 was their choice to make Victor into a sinner. the thing about Victor is that while he’s greedy— he’s not evil. he does care about the well-being of the kids when it comes to life and death. he was afraid of Alfie dying in S1, afraid for all of them in S2 after Alfie was plunged into nothingness.
but then in S3B, when he’s made a sinner it’s just pure evil no-conscience Victor and it sucks. he’s not the same Victor we know— and i know that’s the whole point. im not gonna lie, seeing Patricia, Fabian, and Alfie become sinners was fun because it was like the longest running remaining Sibuna members got taken and now the two newbies are left. though again, i still liked it because S3 started with an Eddie and KT partnership and it ended that same way, with them together fighting as a duo.
but i would’ve been much happier if Victor hadn’t been taken as a sinner, make someone else like Benji or whoever instead.
why? lets gets into Touchstone of Ra real quick. the thing about that movie is that Victor— for the first time in HOA history is on Sibuna’s side. and not at the end, from like the middle of the movie. it makes it much more interesting because the dynamic changes, we could’ve seen Victor reacting to how they work and asking “These are the kids that pull one over on me time and time again?” as well as recognizing the potential in them, like Fabian with the hieroglyphs and everything.
instead, the movie is rushed and we get three newbies that are- in my opinion- seriously some of the laziest add-in’s of all time. the weird guy that’s kinda gross to add in that comedic effect, the smart asian girl, the vapid blonde with money and clothes. they really didn’t pull any brain muscles on them, huh?
i assume the whole point of them, and Eddie ‘initiating’ them as Sibuna recruits for the next year was their attempt at a possible sequel series somehow. and it clearly failed. but it’s still not even that fun, because a lot of the movie brings in these new kids while instead we could’ve had Jerome and Joy involved in the final mystery seeing as they were big parts of the first two. especially because we added in Mara at the last second. and then it’s just another new awkward dynamic trying to catch her up to speed as well as having Fabian be in a weird intellectual rivalry with her when she shows him up and i get it, Fabian’s used to being the brains of the operation and in comes the girl who beat him for valedictorian and she’s got a lot of answers so yeah, it’s a bit envious of him. could you blame him?
i resonate with Mara sometimes but rewatching the entire show, the girl keeps doing messed up stuff every season (well S2 isn’t terrible) but she messed with Mick during the goth girl phase, almost got a teacher fired because she was jealous, the entire Jerome revenge in S3 (while i sympathized with the first bits, the fake-love-Joy-thing was low for her) and then here you have the movie, she’s the newest member whom they never even fully indicted (even the babies get a quickie initiation ritual from Eddie).
so i guess this is to say that Mara got gradually worse (s2 didnt do much so she gets a pass there)
but oh yeah, the Victor thing. i would’ve MUCH preferred it if Victor had ended up helping Sibuna in idk mid-S3B. like he figured out that ritual went wrong, Robert’s evil, shit’s fucked. and he realizes what he’s planning on doing, releasing Ammut. so, he accidentally finds himself aligned with the kids. it would’ve been so nice to see

PJSK ships i like!! (wonder how many of these would get me tracked down and murdered on Twitter but it's like half 3 as i'm typing this so anxiety has clocked out for the night since i'm too tired to care and i have no fear right now)
Anhane!!! the only ship i 100% definitely ship romantically the rest here i see in a QPR type of way
Mizuenaaaaa i ADORE their dynamic with the banter, yet also clear trust they have in each other it's just. such a good pairing and their voices are amazing together too
most Rui relationships cause he deserves all the besties ever but mainly i love Emurui, Mizurui, Ruinene and lately been. extremely normal about Shizurui. yes. a very very rare pair. i am so very normal about themmmmmm. Pandemonium Chapter 6 i love
Shizuairi is cute i've been liking both characters much much more lately so have payed more attention to themmm
i feel like pretty much all ships within L/n like?? work??? they're all just SO cute, underrated unit fr. polyneed shippers i get you
i started liking Emunene after Close Game Offline event
Kohane and Toya are very sweet to me, wish they had more interactions beyond the main story but Sega just seems to hate the M/F friendships in VBS
Shizukasa is really cute with the childhood friends thing, especially that one chapter in Pandemonium
White Day Trio are the FUNNIEST dynamic ever. especially Mizuki and Akito. besties-frenemies fr
Mizuruian. another Kamikou trio i love. also another one with comedic potential- a hall monitor having to deal with her bestie who's skipping 90% of the time and her bestie's bestie who causes chaos for her on the daily
i don't like. ship them cause i haven't ever seen them interact but i CLEARLY want them to since i've mentioned them in like three posts before. Sega i am begging pretty pretty please let Ena and Rui meeeeeet please this is purely because they're my two faves i am unashamedly biased. i need to see what Shinonome #1 thinks of Rui- has she heard gossip from Mizuki and her brother?? does she have a preconceived idea of Mr Kamishiro in her head?? will that be completely confirmed or thrown out the window upon actually meeting him??? i (Leo/)NEED to know

[Review]七天七夜
Tumblr media
Title: 七天七夜 Seven Days, Seven Nights
Author: 春风遥
Length: 165 chapters + 6 extras
Tag: Unlimited flow, supernatural, comedy
Summary [taken from novelupdates]:
‘Seven Days, Seven Nights’. Initially, he had thought it was forbidden due to explicit rated contents (er*tica). In order to survive, he behaved so unrestrained he was basically flying. Later — I’ve already flown out of the sky and only now you tell me it’s an ‘unlimited flow’ horror novel?!
Novel | Novel [translated]
Comments *contains spoilers**
There was a rumored book called ‘Seven Days, Seven Nights’ that was banned for allegedly explicit content. Strangely, despite how viral it was, no one had actually read the book. Except perhaps Su Er (MC)’s deskmate. One day, said deskmate went missing, leaving him with nothing but a mysterious taser. Upon touching the taser, he was transported into the world of Seven Days, Seven Nights. Turns out this wasn’t an erotica novel, but a series of games. The mechanics of the games were simple: each game had a ghost boss and a host that oversaw the rules of the games, and players had a maximum of seven days, seven nights to complete the game. Follow along as MC flew through the games with flying colors, much to the horror of the game bosses and hosts.
Main highlights of the novel include:
The MC. I freaking love the MC. He can best be described by the words: 浪 and 贱, just someone full of chaotic energy. He wasn’t afraid of being cringe and his approach to each game was basically taking the unconventional route and finding loopholes in the rules. Where other players shied away from the bosses and hosts, he married or adopted them. And when none of these worked, he opted to destroy the games. At one point the hosts became so afraid of MC that they developed an insurance package to cover the risks of MC ruining the game lol.
Due to MC’s unconventional ways of handling the games, the novel was highly entertaining, despite all of its shortcomings. Despite being an unlimited flow novel, the story was light-hearted. Sure, players do still die, but in terms of the overall tone and plot outcomes, it stayed pretty comedic throughout. So if you want to try out an unlimited flow story that doesn’t require too much brain power, I’ll say this might be an entertaining read.
Aside from the MC, I also enjoyed reading about the different hosts. Unlike game NPCs, they were all so full of personalities and had their own methods of maintaining the rules of the games and dealing (or failing to) with MC’s antics. Their exasperation, frustration, and pure despair were fun to read about. My fave would have to be Mr. Chinese Rose. He seemed like such a stern host but was a big softie, adopting the numerous little mud people that MC created~
Things I don’t like
Now as much as I found the novel entertaining, there was also a lot to nitpick about. One thing that irked me was the writing style. The scenes tended to jump from one to the next without being fully elaborated on, making for a disjointed reading experience. There were many moments where I went “wait, how did we get here from the previous scene??”. That said, it got easier to read later on, though I’m unsure if it was because the writing got better or that I got used to the writing.
Of all the unlimited novels, this one has a weaker worldbuilding. Most of the games didn’t have a very coherent setting and were composed of random horror elements. In one game you might have parasitic invasion, ghosts, taoists, buddhist monks, and mummies all put together. It’s just very random and the full potential of the game mechanics were not explored. For example, all players have spiritual, martial, and seductive points. But beyond the initial mention in the story, these points barely played a role in the latter parts.
Also as a heads-up, if you are entering into this for romance, there is practically none lol. Generally I’m used to romance being a more subtle and secondary element in unlimited flow stories. But this novel barely had any romantic plot points and ML didn’t have a prominent role other than being a conveniently strong teammate for MC.

Fic Recs: Avatar: The Last Airbender
i rewatched this series when it came out on netflix and i fell in love with it all over again. so many amazing fic writers have taken inspiration from it, so here are some of my favourites!
first rule of earth kingdom fight club… by ohmygodwhy
zuko, his stubborn inability to die, and finding himself thru getting his ass kicked
this series is a collection of amazing fics all about zuko surviving the siege of the north and joining earth rumble despite not being an earth bender. it’s the perfect mix of hilarious and serious, and i love it so much
a crack in the glass (eye) by carthaginian_berries
Okay, so maybe Sokka’s noticed that Zuko’s left eye doesn’t really move that much. That’s fine. It’s fine, because it’s damaged, and probably injured terribly by some incredibly unlucky accident, and it doesn’t even have an eyelid, so like — Sokka can work with this. Maybe it just doesn’t have any functioning nerves anymore. Sometimes, eyes just don’t move; it’s all perfectly normal, a regular day, just like Zuko strolling into the Western Air Temple to volunteer himself as Aang’s firebending teacher/prisoner/Not A Friend. Walking in on said firebending teacher/prisoner/Not A Friend polishing an entire entirely-detached eyeball? Not so fine. or: zuko has a glass eye. toph is fully ready to exploit the fact.
very very amusing fic about toph, zuko and sokka terrorising the rest of the gaang. the scenarios and pranks made are hilarious and i love this fic so much
Wait for It by mindbending
Prince Zuko is born with eyes of pure gold, the surest sign of a strong inner flame. Prince Zuko is born unlucky. He has no fire to speak of. No spark of potential. (Until swords start bending to his will.)
loving this metalbending take on zuko. all of the ideas are so interesting and the characterisation is on point. plus, you gotta love the zuko & toph friendship
Embers by Vathara
Dragon's fire is not so easily extinguished; when Zuko rediscovers a lost firebending technique, shifting flames can shift the world...
could not have a fic rec list without including this masterpiece. the worldbuilding in this is so unique and intriguing, and you can’t help but get attached to the new characters as the story goes on. the amount of research and real world ties this fic has is also outstanding. this fic is over 700k, but i can promise you that it is so enthralling you won’t regret it
Getting Busy in Ba Sing Se by vixxer
Sokka holds up four fingers and pokes him with them. “Four months is still not a lot of time. Weren’t you traveling the earth kingdom for most of it?” “I could’ve met a lot of people while traveling,” Zuko responds defensively. “Really getting around the earth kingdom, huh,” Sokka says with a wink.
beware for general teenage humour and an inordinate amount of dick jokes. i really like this fic because it emphasises the youth of the characters whilst keeping a very lighthearted and comedic tone.
Boomerangs and Rainbows by mindbending
At Sokka’s behest, the Gaang skips rescuing Zuko during the Siege at the North Pole. Instead they leave him, unconscious, buried in the snow. In completely unrelated news, Sokka’s haunted by a ghost now.
a zukka fic with a very creative concept and outstanding writing. do not be put off by the major character death tag, as the guy in question still hangs around regardless. plus, i like how the fic also gives the other characters their time to shine, instead of simply focusing on the main pairing
Spirits Help Us, There’s Two of Them by hopepunk
Sokka and Zuko are both weird guys. Fortunately, they're the same kind of weird as each other.
another zukka fic that definitely deserves the clown-to-clown communication tag. the whole thing is wildly absurd and yet still sweet, and the other character’s bafflement towards their craziness is hilarious!

Lets spread awareness around the fandom. Thoughts on Hevor ?
Finally, someone around asking the real important questions uwu
I think I said everything I could say about it? Hella underrated in my humble opinion. I understand that Trevor doesn't interact with Hector much in the game proper, but c'mon, all the ingredients for a solid enemies-to-rivals-to-friends-to-lovers/defrosting ice king arc are there!
First of all, I will be remiss if I don't point out the amazing tension between them during their first fight :P
Tumblr media
My good man was very much enjoying whipping the silver haired pretty boy into submission :P and he's so damn sassy, "wow you're supposed to be the scary Devil Forgemaster I heard so much about? lol. lmao even." between him and isaac being a bitch in the first cutscene, poor hec getting bullied by his bfs :(
But then he accepts that Hector really is on his side and he had misjudged him before (and in Japanese this is the moment they both switch from kisama to omae, love when it does that), and he decides to whip him into submission again test his strength to deem if he's worth of helping him, you know much like he did with his friends in CV3! And this time Hector is a good match for him, and that's when Trevor turns... weirdly passionate. Like, I'm not the only one who thinks he sounds just a little too concerned, am I? Even more so in Japanese??
and then isaac stabs/molests him because how dare he touch his hector and we never see him again :D
Well, anyway. We're left to imagine what happens after the events of CoD, and we know that Trevor was left in Julia's care after being stabbed so Hector is bound to see him one last time at the very least, talk with him. Sure, maybe Hector decides that he's done with a life of fighting and he never sees Trevor again, but he could also become an ally of his as a way to make up for his mistakes.
As for their dynamic, you have Hector on one side who is relatively the only sane man and Tired of Everyone's Shit (especially now that he's not Cursed lol), and on the other you have the King of Slaying, Trevor who is very well aware of how charismatic he is and he's not afraid of showing off :P at least think of the comedic potential. A bit more seriously, in a hypothetical rewriting of CoD, the two might bump into each other more often, and we might learn that Trevor knew about the atrocities Hector committed under Dracula's name, maybe even saw him and Isaac personally, and that's why he didn't give him the benefit of the doubt unlike he did with, say, Alucard; and Hector could swear that he really regrets what he's done and he will do anything to atone for his sins, and maybe he'd help Trevor during their travels, and the two could learn to actually trust each other and see each other's best parts, Trevor's pure heart and Hector's more noble side. Also, they were both shunned from society due to their powers, but Hector could admire Trevor for never feeling resentment and immediately jumping to help the same people who hated him, while Trevor might sympathize with Hector and commend him for eventually finding the strenght to break free from Dracula's influence.
also yeah insert kinky jokes here one has a whip and the other goes around wearing chains and tight leather pants do i really have to spell out the obvious here
In short, you do have to kind of write a whole fanfiction by yourself, unlike say Isaactor where the proof that Isaac wanted Hector is all but text :P but I think they have potential! Either as different people growing closer, or simply as rivals with plenty of UST :P

I will start this ship meme off with a bang: Midoriya Izuku x Yagi Toshinori ;3
"Hey, Elo, do you ship the thing you've written like 300k words about?" 😏
Ship It? Yes. (Although less fervently than in years past.)
What made you ship it? -- Literally the hair eating scene lmao. But also like... The way they animate Izuku's eyes when he looks at All Might, especially in the opening themes? Come on. He's just overflowing with pure adoration (built on old hero worship, but grown stronger), while All Might is staking all his hopes on Izuku. It's like... the starting premise of the entire series.
What are your favorite things about the ship? -- The mutual dependence on each other; the enthusiasm they have together; the way Izuku still loves him even in his weak form, no hesitation. The way that they're intensely important to each other. From a fic perspective, they have such an intense vibe and so much potential; the hurt/comfort potential inherent to their "problematicness"; the potential for "us against the world"; the constant moral dilemma of wanting to be good moral people while desiring something that could be seen as harmful; the future-fic potential of All Might wanting to stay in Izuku's life but not wanting to "drag him down"; just... all the dynamic, full of love and hope and guilt. ...I may not have been actively into this ship for years but I could go on lol
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? -- the shippers are pretty split in what kind of things they like, but as for me, don't fucking come near me with daddy kink 😂 don't. Go ahead and lean into the student/teacher, or the mentor/trainee, or the boss/underling, or whatever, but 🚫🚫🚫no daddy kink🚫🚫🚫 lmao. Also while I'm fine with underage stuff, I don't like to get kinky about it. It's like, yeah okay they're into each other *despite* the age difference, but not because of it. They can feel guilty, or even neutral about their feelings and actions, but I don't like them being creepy about it (unless for comedic purposes, in which case anything goes).
Thanks for the ask, Angel! It's nice to think about them again lol.

Ccan u talk abt tatsurinne their dynamic seems like it'd ve funny
i can!! honestly i havent thought abt it as much as himeniki bc like . (<- mainly the himeniki guy) (<- also himeniki interact more than tatsurinne do obviously) but i do really like them !!!
first of all the Bit Factor to it. you know im committed to the bit and i think there is great comedic potential to be foudn in this ship . i want rinne to be caught off guard by how much of a freak tatsumi is. rinne goes in thinking hes like a kinda weird Good Pure Christian Boy™ and then gets utterly blindsided . rinne tries to be teasing expecting annoyance in response but tatsumi just goes along with it so easily. also can you iamgine himerus reaction?? itd be great
but on a more serious note its ujst . something about tatsumis unconditional forgiveness and rinne's self villainization . smth smth tatsumi isnt a saint and rinne isnt a demon . and at their cores they are both people who care deeply about idols and tried to incite change because of that love!! twirls hair theyre sooooo revolutionary martyrs LOL
also theyre both anticapitalist kings 🦀🦀🦀 go get it gayboys !!

Thoughts on the 6th ep of Hypmic Rhyme Anima+. Spoilers beware
Season 1 | Ep.1 | Ep.2 | Ep.3 | Ep.4 | Ep. 5
LMFAOOO they look so unimpressed i love it!! even ramuda looks so serious wwww Fling Posse's nail in the coffin of gentaro just straight up reading during the gag and Dice just falling asleep is pure gold
the rivalry is so strong i adore MDC, their comedic potential is off the charts
Ooooo flashback!
eyyy his life is not fair jacket is beautiful its such a hack
awww they're right softies huh.
i assume the narrative will be that they are hypnotized into doing TBH's will or they were unsatisfied with something so bad that they defected
EYYY squirt gun lmfaoooooo
dude his nicotine withdrawal is gonna just get worse www
look at jyuto being a baddass and only reading through skimming
LMFAO they're acting like tourists going to famous places and sightseeing their fill
oh my god they're FP fans and cosplayers
I'm getting second hand embarrassment from them www for once i agree with ramuda they're kinda annoying
LMFAO Bustedddddddddd
oooohhh so they don't have to be directly there to hypnotize people, interesting and opens up a lot more possibilities with who is possibly under their influence
OH FUCK HE'S ONE OF THE CLONES????
Ramuda angst is always top tier, the existentialism!
OH damnnnn if he is someone who isn't a fake, that would be ruthless.
and here comes the TBH crew
Theres some seriously supernatural stuff going on. or is it because FakePosse have been brainwashed so much that its another illusion that only they are seeing
OH DAMNNNNN clone battle and ofc ramuda is the loser. he don't got much more candy and is on borrowed time
eh i think The Loneliness, Tears, and Hope of a Puppet did it better with their depictions of their trio dynamic. also because this takes place between season 2 and 3, its unclear for anime onlys if Gentaro and Dice know that Ramuda is a clone
Generally i do think that the voice dramas have much better writing than the rushed pacing of the anime
the paper is full of the character 愛 which is the character that Rabuta uses in his name
that gentaro animation of him floating up onto the banister looks a little janky ngl
Dice's 777 underwear wwwww
casual threats is beautiful i adore the stupid MCD and Naughty Busters bickering, they're just kids no matter what amaguni says. they're silly children
OH FUCK THAT WAS SICK, sasara just casually rebuffing samatoki's threat while kuko throws in his own religious. For those who don't know nenbutsu is basically like prayer but its for the intent of being mindful of Buddha, hence the name. to outsiders it sounds more like punishment tbh
oooo flashyyy still makes me wonder if they're all under like some sort of mass hypnosis. TBH crew has only appeared that way twice and all in this episode
gods i miss FP's silly fashion sense. very summery jazz ED with the sax as the main instrument and latin beats. i like the chill trendy vibes going on with it

Goblin anon is back again. This time not ADA Chuuya AU (although it's ADA Chuuya adjacent) but have my brain rot.
Kunikida and Dazai don't get paid as much as they probably should, especially for Dazai who used to have a luxurious lifestyle. They're both scrambling to get finances in order.
(mainly Kunikida is, but Dazai recently acquired a cat, because one of the self help books that Chuuya forced on him said that having another living being to take care of will help him mentally, which it is but it's also a strain on his money situation)
So Kunikida and Dazai get married, purely for the tax benefits. It's great for Dazai's wallet (Mickey the cat is getting treated like a king).
Chuuya is still pissed.
Goblin anon this is HILARIOUS, it’s such a good premise—the comedic potential alsksjdjfj everything from Dazai jokingly referring to Kunikida as his husband to Chuuya and Kunikida getting increasingly irritated over this
I also love Dazai having a cat because Dazai has so much cat energy already I can only imagine them causing utter chaos and also catnapping together a lot

Heh, such a thing to read when I'm planning to be flying in just a handful of days, and will be at the airport hours before my flight. Not that I'd particularly enjoy being in this position - it's one of those ace things - but still, the idea of being brainwashed to be sweet and doing what I'm told is always fun. I do hope Heather enjoys sex more than I do, though. It's quite an abuse of authority, regardless, but a hot one! 8/10 spirals

Jack and Diane are back! And I think for pure comedic lines, this has my favourite of any of the stories yet - “Quite sure. No Opera Ghost, of either the Pratchett or Webber variety.” Maybe that's just because I have a major soft spot for Phantom of the Opera (and do enjoy using Music of the Night to sing a partner into trance), but still. Jukebox outdoes himself here, even as I would hate to be in Diane's position. The suggestion itself? Brilliant! Her awareness that its her own subconscious? Sublime. Doing it in public, *at an opera*? That's just beyond the pale, Jack. But despite that, I love the chemistry between these two, making this an easy 10/10 spirals.

This is a good sci-fi story, but it hits just enough of things I dislike that I feel unable to give it a fair rating. If you like alien planets and parasitic (or potentially symbiotic) control, you'll probably get more out of this than I do. 3/10 spirals for hitting a bunch of not-quite-squicks.

This squicked me out too much to even finish it. If y'all like students controlling their teachers, take a look, though!

This one's a little sweetly romantic, if you squint. I do wonder what Zoe and the others look like, outside of spring cleaning time, and how Martine interacts with all of them. But I appreciate the deep dive into the "how" of the control, seeing the cascade of effects of each bit of control, and how Martine handles it. It hits a number of sweet spots for me, though the lack of consent in play makes me enjoy it slightly less than some others. 8/10 spirals.

heh, I'm glad to see Chasity getting some comeuppance for how much she talked over Paula's objections, but maybe not quite this way. I do hope Paula's participation in this whole thing is consensual, but I somehow doubt that. It's an interesting story that focuses less on the control and more on how Paula is effected by it day-to-day, but what we do see of her control and the conditioning process are satisfying. 7/10 spirals.

This story is a bit hard to follow, for exactly the reasons that Justine highlights as she writes, but all the same, it's interesting. I'm not entirely sure that I *like* it - it's a good experiment in storytelling format, but between the challenge to follow it and just how much sex is intertwined through it all, it doesn't go much past "interesting" for me. Someone who likes the sort of "brainwashed sextoy babbling about her enslavement" narration may enjoy this, though. 6/10 spirals.

Oh hey! Penelope from "The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades"! This is fun, and also relatable AF as a gal who has a degree in science. Mad science isn't *my* interest, of course - I'm far too neutral good for mad science - but I still relate to her anger and frustration at the gatekeeping, and more power to her. The mind control here isn't even all that mean, really, though also a little too sudden for my preferences. Mostly I just like the story. 7/10 spirals.

This is an interesting description of a mind control power. And I'm impressed by the ... not control, exactly, but precision of how he uses it. I dunno if it's really *erotic,* really, but it's a good story of control and power, and the consequences of using that power without caution. 8/10 spirals

None of this is how neurons or the brain work. AT ALL. I know we don't actually see the explanation of how the effect is caused, but even what IS shared doesn't pass my BS detector. Having said that, it's an interesting premise, for sure. I'm fairly sure just boosting intelligence wouldn't cause the sort of effect that the increased interest in books brings - after all, social conditioning has its effects just as strongly as academic pursuits. But it's fun to see the change and the questioning of social norms, even if it's so far out of the realm of realistic for me not to even consider it sci-fi. It's pure science *fantasy.* 7/10 spirals.

Top five fairy tales you'd like to retell, please?
Since I've already answered the Top 5, I'll give you the remainder of the top 10. (Which is less about which fairy tales I find most interesting, and more about particular retellings that I have in mind).
6. The Princess and the Pea. This fairy tale's premise offers so much dramatic potential: A stranger shows up on a stormy night claiming to be a princess and her hosts must determine her true identity. The trouble is that the method is so comedic that it's difficult to stay true to the fairy tale without going pure parody, but I have a couple of ideas that hold my interest.
7. Little Red Riding Hood. I'm not too fond of the original tale, but I do have one idea for a retelling that I like, because instead of making it a romance like most retellings do, it focuses on the virtue development and coming-of-age portion of the story, and I've got it near the top of my list of future projects.
8. Beauty and the Beast. Generally, I'm bored by retellings of this tale. There are too many of them, and it's difficult to make a retelling interesting when the story is built upon solving a mystery that everyone knows the answer to. But my sci-fi retelling retains a hold on my imagination, and I'd like to write it someday.
9. Puss in Boots. I love a good con man story, and I still want to finish my Jeeves-and-Wooster-style retelling of this fairy tale.
10. Snow White. This fairy tale is difficult to retell (it's very plot-heavy, and it's tough to build suspense when everyone knows the mystery), but I do have an idea to retell this with Tolkien-style dwarves and elves, stealing very Tolkien-esque themes to make this about an elven princess hiding among dwarves, and getting rescued from the realm of the dead by a human prince. Probably too derivative to really work, but the idea keeps hanging around.
