Poetry Month 2024!!
April is nearly upon us once again, and that means it’s time to get ready for poetry month!! Just as in years past I’m planning to write and share a poem every day, and I could use your help. Send me an ask (or a dm on discord) with a fandom, a character or pairing, and a word or phrase. I’ll mix it all up, throw it in the oven, and see what comes out!

something i really respect about brennan and izzy is that they’ve never just like. announced something. their engagement was “announced” in the middle of a zoom adventuring party in the midst of a different bit, everyone just kinda found out about their wedding through social media, and now their baby has been announced in the intro of a patreon exclusive talkback podcast through a bit that is basically indecipherable to those who have never heard it. despite being people who got their start within online community they are not beholden to sharing All Life News to them immediately and that rocks so hard.

The seasons change, and the sun will rise again.
Wow, just wow. @somerandomdudelmao, your series was incredible. I only found your comic in July and I didn’t become an active tumblr user/follower till September, but I’m so glad I got to watch this project come to a close. The ROTTMNT fandom wouldn’t be the same without you and your comic. You’ve inspired so many people, including me, and I just want to say thank you, Cass. Thank you for making my year a little bit brighter. Thank you for reigniting my love of art. Thank you for creating. Thank you for existing.
You’re no longer just some random dude lmao. You’re the creature who fixed the apocalypse, the creature who brought together thousands of people and built a family. A family of turtles and fans.
In honor of C.A.S I wanted to color and animate the final panel of the comic. Im still learning color theory and digital art but you’ve inspired me to improve, and what better way to start than with the end? It was a beautiful ending, so perfectly paced and full of a peaceful hope twinged with a bittersweet sadness. Your comic might be done, but this turtle family will live on forever.

Sleepovers with April are the best! ...and normally accidental-
omg also i binge read dandy's "i may be invisible, but i still look good" and the reference is random but i needed it cause it was funny in the fic and references are my data collection-
#she just got a little overwhelmed with the crowd#i have put so much thought into past april if you want to hear#when she was younger she was really quirky but got out casted because of that like normal#so when she found the turtles she was like “better not eff this up” because she really wanted them to like her#and put on a really “cool” front so she was more calm in the beginning of their relationship#but let me tell you when she started coming out of her shell the boys were pleasantly shocked#they still loved her right away though#both parties were instantly obsessed with each other#so in this she just needed a battery recharge#most of the time she just supervises their shenanigans and is a really bad influence XD#rottmnt#rottmnt donnie#rottmnt april#april oniel#turtle tots#banana pancakes duo#autistic donnie

do you agree that donnie and april are (platonic) soulmates? yes or no?
(i say yes)
Platonically, it’s hard for me to say that she’s not soulmates with all of the turtles because I mean look at them:
They all love her so much and she compliments all of their personalities and quirks while still being her own adrenaline junky, sassy, and headstrong self. She’s funny like Leo to the point where she’s dropping one liners and puns in the middle of battle (and upset when Leo gives that part of himself up in Insane in the Mama Train), she’s got Raph ability keep the boys in line (at least sort of lol) while having his quick to leap into action and never give up attitude, and she’s charismatic, bubbly, and encourages being emotionally open like Mikey.
However, I also believe it’s no coincidence that her and Donnie have complimentary color schemes. I think they work so well together because in a way I think Donnie is the most “human”. He wants to go to school/college. He appears to want to fit in somewhere in the human world the most out of his brothers. April is a bit of an outcast herself and doesn’t really appear to have many friends before the turtles show up. They sort of meet each other in the middle of their crazy worlds.

Dead boy detectives really encapsulates what television should be. Gay, camp, questionable quality special effects. Truly the best show I have seen in so long that I also had fun watching. I need both the theme song on Spotify and season 2.
