Reaction to reader abstracting
A/n: the first one I do of them is the most depressing thing
Tumblr media
Pomni: She’s already not doing great. So to you, the only thing holding her down while being her abstract is fucking bad. I mean it would be either way (unless the abstract free theory is right.) She probably would isolate herself for at least a week. She would also be very hesitant to befriend more people.
Jax: One of the few times he is very open with his emotions. Kinda hard not to be when your partner might as well as died. Afterward, he might try to joke around. Claiming he didn’t care as much as he did. But there's a noticeable decline in his mood. The main thing is that he doesn’t play as many pranks on people :/.
Ragatha: Might abstract herself. She is clearly not doing as great as she's leading on. This might be her breaking point. If not she’s not as there as she usually is. Can’t bring herself to be the shoulder people lean on anymore.
Gangle: Girl just collapses. Mainly out of sadness but also fear. She is very fragile (both emotionally and physically.) And your existence helped her be more confident. Even when you weren’t there it helped overall. But now you won’t ever be there. And you're such a threatening being now. She wouldn’t even be able to run. Just watch in horror as you leave her.
Zooble: They don’t even comprehend what's happening at first (understandably.) Listen as much as they love you they book it. They would kinda prefer not to die. But after you are trapped in the floor they are a wreck. Barely keeping themselves together (I like to headcanon their body parts stability is related to their mental stability.)
Kinger: You know how Ragtha might abstract? Yeah no, he definitely does. He’s gone through the death of a loved one once. It was his wife no less. If he doesn’t just go insane right there he does because he refuses to leave your side. He’s with you till the end.
Caine: Well fuck. This is the worst possible thing to happen. Whether people abstract or not is one of the few things he has control over. He doesn’t want to but he’s forced to put you in the cellar. Things on the outside seem normal but inside it’s really not.
Bottom line? They all miss you very much :(
A/n: I hope I wrote them okay for the first time writing (mainly Jac and Caine lol)

I saw a theory video and some comments on said theory video that suggested that what the main characters were turned into might have something to do with their past traumas and flaws, the things that they need to work through. I love this theory, not only because it just kinda ties it all together, makes their designs make sense, but also because it could be considered another form of torture: making it so that they can’t even look in the mirror without being reminded of something terrible.
Like I mentioned in my post about their names, I initially assumed Caine is the one who chose their forms and names, but I kinda wonder if that's actually true or not.
Here are what the video, comments, and I think their forms might relate to (theories made by other people unless stated otherwise):
Pomni: She’s a jester because people saw her as just a clown, a joke.
Ragatha: She was so kind, caring, and generous while expecting nothing in return that people just took advantage of her without thinking of/caring about how she felt. Adding onto this, I wonder if maybe she was treated like a plaything in other ways, too…
Gangle: Someone said that maybe she has a tendency to hide behind a “mask” – like, pretend that she’s happy when she’s not. Personally, I dunno. First off, I think that would probably be more Ragatha’s problem. Second, her emotions seem pretty genuine to me. Like, in her introductory short, I don’t think she was sad until Jax broke her happy mask. I think maybe instead, she might have a "bipolar" (for lack of a better term) type of thing going on. Meaning, her emotions are often on extreme ends of the spectrum, and they can change in the blink of an eye.
Jax: He was seen as small and weak, just like a bunny. I think this could also tie in to him being a jerk. After all, people often act like that because they’re desperate to feel power and control in a life that doesn’t seem to be giving them any of that.
Kinger: I dunno… Maybe he was expected to be a leader when he really didn’t want to be? I remember seeing someone somewhere (I forgot where) speculate that Kinger is supposed to be sort of a “manager” to the other prisoners, but I think if Caine placed him in that position, he wouldn’t exactly be able to fulfill Caine’s expectations. I mean, just look at him.
Zooble: Identity crisis. What’s interesting about this theory is that someone asked the creators via Twitter (meaning I can’t access it, unfortunately) if Zooble was nonbinary. The creators replied with something like “Not even Zooble knows what they are”. I find this so interesting because they could have simply said “Yes, they are nonbinary”, but they specifically chose to say that Zooble doesn’t know. So, I think there’s much more to it than they/them pronouns.
