Author note: omg I can't believe I finally got the balls to start posting my writing RAAAHHH! This is for Isa, aka @metallicaislife, one of my favorite blogs! Jewel anon is finally revealed lol. I did use the wiki page on the tour for the order of where they played so it makes a bit of sense. Now, on with the story~

I knew you'd end up looking into my shirt drawer once I left for tour, so I figured I would leave you a little surprise. I knew you'd miss me too much that you would just HAVE to wear one of my shirts to bed ;)

Alright, I'll stop being a jackass now. You told me how much you love letters so I figured I'd write some for you while I'm on the road. As I'm writing this, I haven't even left yet and I already miss you so much. This is gonna suck mega balls, I know it.

Try and get some sleep and take care of yourself while I'm gone, My Star. I'll try and see you whenever I can and I'll call as often as possible.

i dont know if there's even a ppop presence on tumblr but i do also want to promote ALAMAT, a 6-member idol boy group from the Philippines. Its members comprise of Taneo, Mo, Jao, Tomas, R-ji, and Alas. They debuted in 2021, and their creative direction centers on championing the Filipino identity and culture through their music.

KASMALA, the inverted Tagalog word for "strong" (malakas), is the MV that really did numbers on social media iirc. The video direction focused on the "human zoo" in the St. Louis' World Fair of 1904 (which included Filipinos specifically Igorots), and a general theme of anti-Filipino racism by white people (who are represented as ominous figures literally dressed in all white)

personal opinion: the music video is great but i personally think they have better songs, music-wise. and i'm going to give you an example of that by introducing you to my ALL-TIME FAVORITE ALAMAT SONG!!!

ILY ILY, a transliteration of "Ili-Ili Tulog Anay", incorporates the melody and lyrics of the Ilonggo lullaby it derives its title from. The MV and lyrics both work together to portray the experience of being an OFW/having an OFW parent. OFWs, or overseas Filipino workers, refer to Filipinos who go abroad in search of jobs that have better pay, so that they can remit money back to their families in the Philippines.

personal opinion: this is their best song THIS IS THEIR BEST SONG EVER OF ALL TIME and lyca gairanod is such a perfect singer for this. her ethereal crooning really gave me chills the first time i heard it UGH

DAYANG, the term for the wife of a Datu, is one of their most earworming songs ever. It's a gorgeous love song and what I would recommend to newbies if they want to get into alamat <3

personal opinion: The MV is kinda ass because it's just a super long extended ad for DITO PH (in terms of story and also bc they really missed out on doing a vid that drew more on culture esp bc dayang is a historical noble title and they used tausug words and designs for the graphics an the dance itself already incorporated pangasik dance which is also from the tausug people LIKEEE?? they've always promoted other cultures of the philippines i know they can do it but because of CAPITALISM--). But the song bangs so severely, as a pop enjoyer this is peak pop for me.

DAGUNDONG, a song basically recounting the colonial history of the Philippines from Spain to America, is just so fucking good you should watch/listen to it rn. There's EN subs don't worry you won't miss out on the context. This is colonial rage it's so satisfying I still remember where I was when they dropped this.

personal opinion: FOREVER OBSESSED WITH HOW THEY SAY "dahil puso mandirigma di papakutsa di papapugon" you guys have no idea how much i sing that line to myself sooo satisfying. Instant earworm this song i swear.

MAHARANI, a Sanskrit term for the wife of a Maharaja (translated as "great queen"), heavily features singkil, a Maranao dance which uses bamboo poles like tinikling does. The song also uses SEAsian instruments like kanun, gamelan, and gangsa. Also BINI's Jhoanna plays one of the main characters here!!!

personal opinion: this is their most pop-sounding song, which i think is slightly carried by the video i'm sorryyy. it's catchy though!! and i looove the part somewhere halfway where alas starts his verse, singing it in a more spoken-word way

also ppop idols are just really funny. there's no concept of an idol image so they just tweet shit. alamat jao gave out his genshin UID after a fan tweeted about having co-oped with him in genshin, and then after that he started answering questions with the hashtag "#canceljao" making a lot of magiliws (alamat fans) confused, and then he posted a classic iphone notes apology like this 😭

i'll do a bini version after this my girls deserve more international hype. they occupy a more girlcrush pop genre but they're just as chaotic as alamat if not even more 😭 there are entire THREADS on twitter of them just being hilarious jdhfkshgf i love them so much

As someone who's been in and out of the 1D fandom for more than a decade but still cannot escape the clutches of this goddamn ship, it's really nice to have a resource for discovering new (and old) fic now that all my fandom friends have slowly trickled over into new fandoms and I no longer have anyone to rec me new things (my most trusted fic friend has now completely converted to F1 fandom...the betrayal...)

You were at Dylan’s show? How was it?

It was a good show - it lasted only 1h10 minutes which felt short. The venue was very nice, good sound and the lights production was really cool. The crowd was good, mostly young women but some couples and some parents (and a random middle-aged guy who came solo who was in front of me).

She was really excited to play and she has a lot of energy on stage. There's only a bassist and a drummer (and her on the guitar sometimes) - so she 's using backing tracks for some of the songs (the band doesn't do back vocals). On the first song it felt like the backing track was over taking her mic and I was like are you kidding? can she not sing?! but it was adjusted later (and maybe she was a bit more stressed on the first song).

She did a brand new song, and like her latest single (The Alibi) it's way more pop. Not guitar-driven at all. It was... different. So it's interesting to see if she's going the pop route (pulling a Harry as I called it!). The Alibi live was really good tho, it's catchy. The rest was pretty rock and banging.

She did a cover of Out of the Woods by TS with just her on the guitar and imo it was awful. Like I think people enjoyed it since they like to OG version but it was just... missing something? Also to me it's really weird to be covering TS when she's touring herself at the moment. The other cover was Unholy - but rock - and at the beginning I was very sceptical but it ended up being really good.

She was quite chatty but sometimes I didn't get what she was saying. In terms of stage presence, she's really good because you couldn't tell she was nervous (I think it was her biggest venue ever). It did feel a bit like a performance at times - and reminded me of Harry's first tour (and the drapping in pride flag + her HS song added to that). But then I'm thinking - it is a performance so maybe I should give her some slack (it's just the whole rock aesthetics/ persona from her IG is annoying me so much).

All in all, very happy I went to see her (even if it took me 90 minutes to go back home cuz apparently I can't take the bus in London lol). I would see her again when she has new material and/or in a bigger venue. This morning I had a song stuck in my head so I listened to her live album again. But in the future I wonder if in the middle of the day I'll be like hey I feel like listening to Dylan? Her songs are quite catchy from the melody but I find the lyrics a bit simple/ not memorable (or too easy).

I went to discover her live and have a good time and I did get that. I also was a bit 'analytical' with the show - and I find myself doing that most of the time now that I know more about touring.

As I posted, it also makes me miss Louis and AM gigs because I realize they are truly one of a kind. Louies are SO loud we never realize when we're at the show, but yeah you don't get that level of screams at other shows.

So if you have the chance to see her in the future, def do it's the tickets are affordable and you wanna have a good rock night out!

I'll be watching her career development!

Hello Marte! Hope you enjoyed your holidays surrounded by your loved ones and had some nice time off!

I was bit away having family time myself and so wasn’t catching much from the latest drama/madness around Louis’ stunt but what got me wondering was how come his sisters are fully into it while Louis was away from camera most of the time - is there any explanation for it? Also I have no doubt H was (or maybe still is?) with them especially after that video from restaurant and so while I find it kinda like it’s a sure thing that they are spending as much time together as they can celebrating Xmas+Louis’ birthday, I’m also wondering how H must feel when he knows the kid is also there and eventho it’s not Louis who’s stunting first hand but he probably let his sisters do the “dirty” job (or are they doing it for their own fame and buzz on IG?) - you wrote in the past how much H hate bg and so what is your opinion to that now, does he get used to it and knows why Louis is bringing the kid for Xmas 3rd time in a row? Or is it like an exchange like the kid at Tomlinson’s in exchange for them being together during this time so nobody would question anything? Also last question - what is your opinion on that photo with the H mug Lottie (I think it was her but might be wrong) posted….was that like some larriebaiting or H was really there and Lottie “oopsie” forgot to put the mug away?

Sorry for so many questions but I’m really trying to understand what this madness was and how to feel about it and if it’s normal by now or what?

I haven't been paying attention much, because like you, i've been busy. I also don't really care much to be honest. It's a stunt, we've seen it before. It's nothing new. I'm not missing anything. Copy x 3 literally.

I think it's easier on Louis if his sisters help. Jay used to pull her weight in the stunts and now the sisters have taken over that role. It's also easier on the fandom the less L is seen directly interacting with F. It's more organic looking if it's filmed and posted by his influencer sisters too. It also leads people to think L is protecting F's privacy. Makes it look more real (lol).

I think the sisters help with stunts, but they also hint at Larry at the same time to get attention and kudos. If it was all stunts with them they would be (even more) disliked they already are. It's to maintain a balance between stunts vs. Larry. We've seen that mug before, so idk...

In the past, Christmas hasn't been one of the holidays or time off work where H and L have been able to spend much time together. In 2013 during Haylor they were apart over both Christmas and New Years as far as i recall. When they've been together before it's usually L going to Holmes Chapel and not the other way around. I'm not sure the H mug says anything about the wearabouts of H. He might have been there or not. I think F is only there to get some pictures and videos in and then he leaves. 15 minutes tops. I'll not be surprised if it's made to look like it just happened, but was filmed a couple of days beforehand. So a staged celebration and then a real one at Christmas without F.

I do think H hate bg, like L does, because he feels somewhat responsible for it. I don't think he hates F though. So if he's ever been around him, he'd treat him like any other kid. No ill will. I'm not sure he ever have been around him though.

Seeing stuff about the new album makes my stomach flutter in a bad way. I don't really know why. It could be that I don't want them to have a new album without Charlie or without Charlie on all the tracks. I thought that list that said (with Watt) were the tracks that Charlie played on and they just forgot the s on his name and I was like 'that's it?'. And then I'm afraid some of the songs are going to be about Charlie and it'll be really sad. Or maybe its just the idea that they will be promoting a new album without Charlie there to stand silently in the background. Its almost like I want to avoid any news about it because it makes me sad rather than happy to hear Charlie on new songs.

Then you post that Mick clip and that is the closest I've heard Mick get to losing it (with the exception of maybe the St. Louis show) and now I'm all bummed. And I keep telling myself its ridiculous. One, I don't even know Charlie and two, he was 80! He had a good life, a happy life and if he was still with us the loss of Shirley would have devastated him (as I'm sure his passing did not help with her health at all). I don't know. Maybe I'm just PMS-ing. lol Maybe I just need to go look at my favorite Charlie pics again.

To be honest, I’ve felt the same way through most of this. I think a lot about how many years Keith spent insisting that Charlie was the Stones and that they could never go on without him, and, while I fully understand why they’ve ended up making the choices they have (evidently with Charlie’s blessing) it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Especially when it provokes all the commentary (which I stand by calling musically ignorant) about how Charlie was old and tired and broken down and they sound so much better and more energetic with Steve. (I’ll refrain from going chapter and verse again about fundamental differences between styles of drumming and why his cymbal work and his chemistry with Mick in particular doesn’t even touch Charlie’s). Keith sort of unintentionally predicted the future in 2013:

As far as the new album, yeah. I don’t really feel I’m looking forward to it so much as holding my breath in anticipation and anxiety to see how much Charlie will be on it and how much will be about him. It’s hard to accept that this is the last we’ll ever hear of him, at least until they sell their catalogue/someone decides it’s time to start putting out collections of unreleased songs and first attempts. It’s also kind of disappointing that they’ve been working on this album since 2012/3, but, because of various issues, including personal ones, it wasn’t until Charlie died that they found the urgency to finish it. And because of that he’s missing from half, or possibly more. At the end of the day that’s not really anyone’s fault, just a sad fact of being human and flawed with limited time.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being sad, either. 80 is a very good number, and Charlie lived a wonderful, fulfilling life full of love and kindness, but he also had something left to give and his death cut that short. But, although I suspect Shirley’s passing had a lot to do with losing him, by the same token I doubt he would have survived more than a handful of months if she had gone first. He just wasn’t made to live without her. So maybe that was for the best, at least for him?

Either way, happy Charlie pictures are always good therapy.

Harry taps his fingernail on the side of his wine glass as he stares down the human in front of him. He’s existed for a few millennium and should be used to humans throwing themselves onto him—for multiple reasons, but they rarely stay as long as this one.

I will randomly think about this fic and how much I love it. I love how it packs a punch in only 666 words. I actually wrote this in one sitting. It was like as soon as I got the idea, the words flew out of my fingertips-- which only never happens.

On Your Left (11.8k)

“Get up! It's Disneyland week!” Louis shouts to his two friends from the end of their bed. It's six in the morning and Louis has been awake for a while trying to kill time before an appropriate hour to wake up his travel companions.

“What time is it?” Liam groggily asks. He pulls the covers from his eyes and squints up to Louis.

“ … six.”

“The fuck, Lou?”

“I'm sorry! The dining hall opens soon and the rope drop is at eight. Plus, Zayn is going to take for-fucking-ever to get ready.”

“Don't drag me into this,” Zayn grumbles. He pulls the covers tighter over his head.

"How long have you been awake?” Liam asks. He halfway sits up in bed so as to not bother Zayn.

“… three-thirty.”

“Louis! You're going to crash by noon today.” Liam falls back down on the bed.

“I won't! The spirit of Walt Disney will keep me awake!”

This is my most recent fic! This really started out as a way for me to pretend I was at Disneyland because I missed it lol. I also saw a tiktok of a woman meeting Captain America and he offered her his elbow to "go on patrol" and, of course, my mind went to "ooh larry"!

Louis meets the man in the center of the room, feeling every eye on him.

“Mr. H,” he whispers.

The man smiles brightly and laughs as if he can’t believe his eyes. “It’s you,” he says breathlessly. “I didn’t think I would see you again.”

“Nor I you, especially under these circumstances.”

“Even so,” Mr H says, his eyes bouncing from Louis’ eyes to his lips. “Will you do me a great honor and join me in leading the first … um…”

“Dance?”

Mr. H laughs and nods. “Yes, that’s the one.”

Louis bites his lips and doesn’t hesitate before whispering, “Yes.”

Mr. H beams and reaches for Louis’ hand. Sparks fly at the touch and a zing of excitement shoots through Louis’ body. His face heats up as he’s afraid his scent would give away his feelings towards the other man.

Continuing my love of Disney, I love the 2015 remake of Cinderella with Lily James and Richard Madden and used it as the based of this fic. But! This actually started out as an omega verse fic because I saw a gif post of the OG cinderella movie that talked about the prince seeing Cinderella and knowing at first glance she was the one destined to be his bride.

Breakable Heaven (44.5k)

“What do you think?” Louis gets captured by Harry’s green eyes, unable to look away or even take a breath.

“I think you’re the most magnificent creature I’ve ever met.”

“You must not have met many creatures then.”

Harry’s eyes glance downward to Louis’ lips and his tongue darts out to wet his own. “None like you.”

I love greek mythology and the story of hades/persephone has always interested me. I think this one took me the longest to write (from April until around October I think). I'm really proud of how this one turned out, and the response I've gotten from this was so overwhelming, especially when it was first posted.

Scent Partner (4.4k)

The name of the company was horrible: Scent Partner. Whoever was on the marketing team should be fired immediately for green-lighting that name. But the instructions were simple.

Alphas wear a shirt for three days and nights. The shirt gets sent to omegas nearing their heats to pick the alpha who smells the best to them. The company notifies the alpha and gives them the opportunity to say no. If both parties agree, they meet at a heat room for the omega’s heat. Everything is safe and consensual.

I'm really proud of this one because it was the first fic I wote last year that wasn't attached to a fic fest or challenge or anything else like that. I struggle sometimes to write fics outside of those things, and I'm really happy with this one. Also, it was fun figuring out the logistics of this fic!

it is a little sad to delete fics but i usually delete old ways that have embarrassingly bad writing or fics from fandoms i'm not active in anymore so i tend not to miss then too much 😅 very occasionally i go the orphan route so they're still on the archive!

it's admittedly quite a dialogue heavy chapter because it's Niall and reader figuring out what's going and having a conversation about it and that's all i can really say without spoiling it all. it's an important chapter but it was a little boring to write because i felt like nothing was happening 😂 and knowing i've got two readers invested has totally made my day and i just woke up 🥺🫶

my cat is the biggest spoiled brat in the world but we love her 😂 we don't know what kind of cat she is but i'm pretty sure she's a tabby and Egyptian mau mix. she's literally gorgeous and i will send you pictures if you remind me lol. she also happens to be the most talkative cat ever born...she will sit outside my door and just meow over and over until i open it.

i LOVE dialogue chapters !! 98% of the time i’m coming up with a chapter, it starts with the dialogue and everything gets built around it. dialogue is where i connect with stories tbh, like describing the space for example, doesn’t do anything for me because i’ll probably envision it the way i want to 😅 but dialogue is where it’s pure and it’s where it’s AT !! you really get a feel for the characters there. apparently you’ve caught me at a very chatty time I APOLOGIZE ! 😂 yes there’s two of us heavily invested, we’ve literally chatted about it on snapchat 😂

i’d love photos !! i have no idea what that mix would look like but you mentioned egyptian and i imagine her being very cute !! how old is she ? i love the attachment level 😂

It's not embarrassing anon, don't worry! This was one of the first things I googled when I became a larrie, I guarantee you lol I'm not a specialist and I don't work with this, this is simply what I learned over the years (and with goolge lol), it can be quite complex though so I just tried to make it very very simple without adding too many layers, okay? Record labels basically “own” the artists, so if you’re an artist who got offered a contract with a big record label, like Sony, they will basically make the most out of you in order for you to be more successful and profitable. If you’re a new artist, they’ll see the potential in you and they will develop you as an artist. They will set up plans and goals for you, like how many albums/singles are you going to release, in what particular time frame, what kind of music they want you to record, and stuff like that. And then they will basically loan you a shitload of money and make everything happen. From the conception and recording of the songs to promotion, campaigns, distribution, licensing, everything. And you will, of course, pay them back plus a percentage of your record sales. Roughly, around half of all the money you make goes for the record label. Most labels are considered controlling because they put their artists in a very vulnerable position with their contracts, they have too much “power” to make them make it or break it, and since their job is to make you succeed they definitely make it in a way where is most convenient to them. New artists are the ones who suffer the most, they don’t really have much bargain power or anything to lose when they first sign with big labels, Syco is one of the most well-known abusive and controlling labels in the industry because a lot of their artists came from talent shows like the xfactor. If you’re interested you can check here the kind of stuff Simon used to put on his contracts. Syco was a label that belonged to Sony, Simon Cowell had a 50/50 partnership with them. Last year Simon walked away from Syco, now everything that belonged to Syco is now 100% Sony’s.

1D = signed to Syco in the UK and Columbia Records (also owned by Sony) in the US.

Louis = signed to Syco for his entire solo career up until last year, now he is an independent artist with a partnership with BMG (it’s unclear the extent of this partnership though). He was signed Arista in the US but I imagine he also parted ways with them?!

Harry = Columbia Records

Management Companies are responsible for the more practical part of the business, they will represent the artist, set up more specific and day to day goals, they will coordinate the marketing and strategies and also negotiate with producers and label executives. They’re the ones who will follow you everywhere taking care of the logistics, planning and booking of everything. Managers are also responsible for a great part of a marketing plan, promotion and branding, they can *highly advise* you on what you should be doing in order to help you to achieve the goals set by the label. Management operates under the contracts of the record label, so they can control you and your image, a lot of managements are extremely abusive with their clients. What happened with One Direction was that since (again) they came from the xfactor, they basically had no independence to decide anything, Modest would decide everything for them.

1D = Modest management. Basically all artists from Syco were also signed with Modest. One Direction is officially on a hiatus, therefore there is no management at the moment.

How I Outline

@haztobegood and @lululawrence tagged me to share my outlining process - thank you! I find it so interesting seeing how other people work, but also I feel like we're all interpreting the question differently, which is funny. Or at least I am. I don't ever have just 1 WIP I'm working on, and most of the stuff I write is shorter and needs less outlining anyway, so I'm doing this more as a general writing process/planning type thing?

I don’t have a standard ‘this is how I always do it’. I prefer to ride the wave of inspiration and just start writing - get down as much as I can before that first rush of an idea ebbs away. (Also I legitimately tell myself the story, so I have actual sentences of description and dialogue, and if I don’t put them down I’ll lose them.)

If I don’t have time to write, then I’ll jot down just a brief idea or outline. That can range from literally ‘Ace Lou’ (I think that’s my shortest ‘idea’ I have on my list currently) to a short paragraph:

Fairytale Ziam - Very loosely based on Rapunzel(/Shrek), with Liam as the princess in the tower, Niall as the friendly knight rescuer, Louis as the less friendly knight rescuer, Harry as the Royal Advisor and Zayn as the King with anxiety who is never seen by his people.

(Yes I am a little annoyed that I missed the fairy tale fest sign-ups, but also, I don’t need another fic with a deadline so maybe it’s for the best)

Sometimes I’ll write a couple of paragraphs if the fic is more thought out, or sometimes I’ll include some snippets of dialogue. Very occasionally I’ll write a checklist of scenes, but I’m not often that organised, and to be honest, most of what I write is short enough that it’s not really necessary.

But guys, what I’m most proud of? This:

I have a Trello board! I’ve only been using it since October, but I find it so much easier than starting a new Google doc when the idea might be just that and not get any further (I start a doc when I actually start writing properly). Also because I always have this amount of stuff bubbling away and I can’t keep all that in my head/organise my Google docs enough for it to make sense.

Far left is what I’m meant to be working on currently (see my big bang at the top, overdue according to my own schedule), 'second tier' is stuff that’s got a fair amount written, or I’m really excited about, but isn’t a priority or close to being completed, 'backburner' is stuff that may never happen (it makes me sad, and I might have to rescue those bottom two) and fourth is where all the ideas and prompts that I haven’t started writing go (25 things on that list at the moment..! Hit me up if you ever need a prompt, lol). Far right (not pictured) is where I move stuff across to when I’ve posted it.

I can add due dates if anything has a deadline and easily see at a glance what I’m meant to be working on. Revolutionary. I love it. I only have a 1D board set up at the moment but I fully intend to use this process to sort out my thicket bush of half-finished WIPs in the Endeavour and Merlin fandoms at some point.

the first few times he saw you he would simply admire you from a distance

and then he realised how creepy that was and decided to actually go up and talk to you

on the inside he was quite nervous, but on the outside he conveyed an air of confidence that you liked

so of course you gave him your number

and soon you were hanging out all the time

you quickly realise that hendery is...something lol

but not it a bad way

you never know what sort of shit you and hendery are going to get into, he's so unpredictable

he confessed to you first

let's be honest, he developed a crush on you really quick

but he was still nervous to admit his feelings for you, even though it was obvious you liked him back

one of the only times you've seen him so shy and nervous lol

he bought you a bouquet of flowers and took you out to lunch and confessed to you there

he was really worried you'd turn him down so he was kinda surprised when you said yes to him being your boyfriend

he had always been his crazy self around you anyway

but he became more cuddly and affectionate towards you which was cute

makes you question both the world and your sanity at random times

he's actually really smart though so his 3am questions are both entertaining and convincing

feels the need to fill in silence with his own voice all the time

even if you're cuddling with him

can go like 2 mins without talking

and then suddenly his mouth is by your ear and he's asking you whether you believe in a specific conspiracy theory

it's kind of soothing though

just lying in hendery's arms, listening to him argue his points about something while you slowly doze off

he was really keen to introduce you to the other members of wayv

because you're an important part of his life and so are they

luckily they all accepted you really quickly

and for once hendery is the one being teased because he's in a relationship

but hendery doesn't care because hell yeah! he is whipped for you! he isn't embarrassed at all

wayv eventually stops with the teasing when they realise they're not going to get a reaction out of hendery

and they don't even blink an eye when you come over to the dorms

also yangyang specifically really likes you because you humour his teasing and jokes

and since you're dating hendery you're basically an older sister to yangyang

hendery LOVES to flirt with you

sometimes he says really greasy pick up lines to you

other times he's sooo romantic

he will also tell you how much he loves you anywhere

literally praises for days

he especially loves flirting with you in front of the rest of wayv

he's so shameless lol

sometimes the other members can't even stand being in the same room as you and hendery because he's so whipped for you

and it's strange for them to see him flirting nonstop lmaoo

and he absolutely loves it when you flirt back

like it makes his heart race so fast

but your flirting also just boosts his ego and confidence

i just feel like he'd be a really good (but cheesy) flirter

and when you flirt back he's like "aww that's cute you're trying" but he loves being praised too

i can't see hendery getting jealous at all

if wayv is jokingly hitting on you he'd probably join in (unless you were uncomfortable ofc) because he loves praising you and making you blush

he usually doesn't interfere either unless you really feel uncomfortable because he knows you won't flirt back

but you never would because you love hendery too much to ever lose him

when he's away homeboy misses you so much he has no idea what to do with himself

constantly moans to wayv how much he misses you

rings you every night after he's finished his schedule to tell you about his day and listen to yours

usually you're the one listening to hendery talk but it's okay because you like to listen to him and he makes sure to ask you if he's boring you (which he never is)

there's no specific time he texts you during the day

he's not really the type to send good morning/good night texts unless you were already texting

however he randomly sends you pictures of his pets, louis, leon, and bella lol

and we're talking super zoomed in photos or him holding their ears/tails/paws in a funny position

basically 90% of his social media is you/selfies with you

he already posts selfies heaps so he doesn't mind adding you into the mix

as we've previously discussed he's not worried about showing you off

so he's not on that "i can't post my partner on insta" bullshit

it may seem sweet that hendery posts pics of you heaps but be warned

he does not care if you are pulling an embarrassing face in the pictures

in fact that makes him want to post it even more lol

you're constantly on his instagram stories too

he has a habit of randomly photoshopping his and your faces onto other people and then posting that??

don't ask me why but he finds it hilarious and totally normal to do that, so he does

he also likes leaving funny comments on your own posts

and he definitely sends your own posts to you in a text saying something like "I JUST DROPPED MY KIMCHI YOU LOOK SO GORGEOUS"

hendery prefers to talk to you in chinese (cantonese/mandarin)

but he'll also learn english or korean for you since he has the basics down and friends to help him practice

he's so in love with you that he probably says it after like a month of dating

so you're a little bit shocked but you can tell he really means it

and he'd be kind of shy about it because he knows it's a bit soon to be saying stuff like that

but he really wants you to know how he feels about you

because he's never felt this way about anyone and his love and affection for you is literally bursting from him

i honestly don't know much about hendery

except he's an absolute sweetie and would 110% be the best boyfriend ever

if i could choose anyone out of wayv to be my boyfriend i'd definitely choose hendery

because i know my feelings are gonna be validated and i'm going to feel loved 24/7 and also peeing myself with laughter

I have a lot of thoughts about the Slaters

namely, I've been wonderin why the Fairfield Survivors got thrown off the boat in Death Toll

in this panel of The Sacrifice comic, Francis confirms the fates of three of the rescue vehicles:

"Louis, I hate to be the one to break this to ya, but we been heading to the safe zone four times now. Helicopter: crashed. Plane: crashed. Boat: kicked us out and left us to die."

the chopper from No Mercy was confirmed crashed in Crash Course, and as for the plane from Dead Air, it was pretty easy to guess (and would have been confirmed in the cut campaign Dam It).

but the part about the boat? that's the Slaters' boat from Death Toll. this is the first time we learn this information.

so...why? what happened?

(more under the cut, ended up writing wayyyy more than I expected over these past few days and don't wanna clog people's dashes lol)

so. let's take a quick dive into the last chapter of Death Toll, to see what we can discern about the Slaters from their dialogue.

the rescue vehicle in Death Toll is a civilian boat, Saint Lidia II, owned by John and Amanda Slater, a married couple. Amanda is never heard in-game, but John's reactions to her can be heard over the radio.

the Slaters are explicitly looking for "anyone out there with firearms". John later adds that "once you get on this boat? Your job is keeping our asses alive". it appears that their motivation for saving the Survivors is selfish from the get-go.

this is undoubtedly true in Amanda's case, however, some of John's lines betray a more selfless attitude. he will berate Amanda for not "think[ing] about the little guy". he will ask, "So what, then? We leave 'em to die? I can't do that, Amanda." whilst Amanda is thinking purely of their own survival, John still feels compassionate towards his fellow survivors. despite this, he says that "I don't want our first act of kindness to be our last", acknowledging the conflict between his compassion and his self-preservation.

so. these are the Survivor's saviours in Death Toll. a conflicted married couple looking for bodyguards, offering to take the Survivors upriver to a military safe zone in exchange for protection.

as for why they get thrown off the boat...well, the easiest explanation would be Amanda.

but, stay with me here, because I think it's a little more complicated than that.

this boat? fulla tension. there's the obvious tension between the Slaters, who we've established seem to fight and disagree regularly. then there's the inevitable tension between them and the Survivors. I reckon Louis, with his generally positive and friendly attitude, wouldn't have much of a problem with them, might even attempt some friendly conversation or something. however, he's about the only one.

the comic fully establishes Bill as caring about nobody except the Fairfield Survivors - the most obvious evidence of this being the words he lives and dies by, "we look after our own". he isn't particularly interested in other people, unless they can help the group out. and he'd likely recognise the unstable and conditional nature of their rescue. while I'm sure he'd try and keep the peace, in any reasonable disagreement or fight Bill's likely to take his friends' side, and if anyone's getting thrown off the boat Bill is going with them. this goes for the whole group, to be honest; I don't think they'd want to split up at this point.

Francis hates boats, hates water, and can't swim, so (and I'm getting a little speculate-y here) would probably be in an even sourer mood than usual on the journey. being as abrasive as he is, plus this additional stress, it's fully possible he could piss off the Slaters enough to get himself (or all of them) thrown off the boat.

as for Zoey? well, I don't imagine a married couple who constantly argues is gonna sit well with her, considering her backstory. similarly to Francis, the situation they're in would make her far more stressed, making it more likely for her to lash out.

Amanda didn't want to save the Survivors in the first place, so while I think that John wouldn't throw them off the boat without reason, I reckon she could persuade him to throw them off if they 'caused trouble' - and they would get into an argument with her far easier than they would with John.

in short: yeah, I can see them getting thrown off the boat by the Slaters after some huge fight or disagreement. I think that's a reasonable interpretation of canon, and definitely an interesting concept.

...however, I do wonder if this tension would really be enough to destabilise their mutual need, after everything they went through to come together.

which is why I'm going to bring up The Last Stand!

I gotta quickly address something before this segment: yeah, I'm totally aware this campaign isn't canon. this evidence works with the fact that it exists in an 'alternate timeline'. also, I am missing a few citations for this section - if anyone can provide them I'd really appreciate it, but just a disclaimer that I currently can't prove some of the things the wiki claims members of the Last Stand Community Update Team have said. here and here are the wiki pages where I got this information. in short - the above explanation is simpler and more canon compliant, the conclusion I draw at the end of this post is backed by shakier evidence but I believe is more interesting, and you can make of all that what you will.

allegedly, members of the Last Stand Community Update Team confirmed a strongly-suspected fan theory about The Last Stand: that it branches off from Death Toll in some way, in a non-canon alternative timeline. as well as this, they allegedly confirmed that in this alternative timeline, the Survivors still end up in Newburg for Dead Air. even without the confirmation, this remains a solid fan theory, due to the constant references to Riverside and re-use of many of Death Toll's assets.

who rescues the Survivors in The Last Stand? John Slater. no Amanda - just John. despite her lack of voice actress, if she was still present John would give some indication of this at some point. it can be speculated that whatever happened to her contributed to the lack of rescue at the boathouse that forced the Survivors to take an alternative route. either way, he ends up at the lighthouse when the Survivors call for rescue, alone, and picks them up.

and then later...throws them off the boat. into Newburg.

what reason would John have to do that? without Amanda, surely he wouldn't have that push, as he wanted to rescue the Survivors for multiple reasons in the first place. without his constant arguments with Amanda, Zoey wouldn't be nearly as stressed. and between the three of them I'm sure the other Fairfield Survivors would stop Francis from pissing John off enough to get them thrown off the boat. in short, less Amanda = less tension, and no reason for the Survivors getting chucked off the boat.

...right?

I'd like to remind you that a symptom of the Infection is paranoia.

what if, in both The Last Stand and Death Toll, John and Amanda are infected by the Survivors on the way to the military safe zone? after all, the virus is confirmed to occasionally be airborne, and I doubt two civilians have completely effective, sustained protection against that. likely the only reason they hadn't already been Infected is because they got out on the water early on in the pandemic, and hadn't come into contact with anyone else since. it's unlikely that one of them is immune, and even more unlikely that they're both immune (especially considering those with XX chromosomes may be genetically less likely to be carriers). wouldn't Francis have mentioned it if their rescuers turned or were obviously Infected? yes, but it's possible that the airborne strain works slower as well, meaning that the Survivors are thrown off of the boat after the symptoms kick in but before the Slaters fully turn. even Church Guy had at least an hour from being Infected to turning, and he was bitten. Newburg isn't too far from where the Survivors are rescued in Death Toll anyway (the burning city in the background of the finale is Newburg), so the Survivors clearly didn't last long on the boat anyway. as a result, the Survivors wouldn't realise it was the Infection intensifying the Slaters' paranoia - they'd just think the Slaters were being dicks. Francis also explicitly mentions that they were "left to die", implying negativity or even hostility from the Slaters as the Survivors were being thrown off.

so yeah. that's why I think they got thrown off of the boat in Death Toll - a combination of the intense tension between the two parties, and the Slaters falling victim to Infection-induced paranoia. but an explanation minus the Infection is equally as plausible. it all depends on what you find most interesting, I suppose, and both feel like they fit pretty well into the world.

lord this is a long chunk o text. I know most fandoms prefer art and fanfic over this sorta thing, so please let me know in replies or something if you're interested in more stuff like this. also if any of this makes sense because I like to ramble.

So... talking about Mr. O, we did get footage of Louis watching the game yesterday. While Louke Stans were more than happy, I would like to point out to this mysterious, tall, muscular and BALD certified hottie who seemed to be sitting in front of Louis and is in the background of L's selfie with Charlie. Hmmmmm 🔎🧐 THE PLOT THICKENS.

Louis was on his best whore behavior, but who could blame him??? He was surrounded by loud, intoxicated men admiring the muscular bodies of men running around, competing against each other in a totally straight manner. What a feeling, again! So whatever Luke said that made Louis laugh so much, I chose to believe he was trying to impress Mr. Bald Guy (who doesn't look that much impressed sadly 😔 keep trying Louis!)

Anyways, back to football! We have a bit of a break before the semi-finals. England will face Denmark at Wembley on Wednesday. Unless Charlie shares that video his took yesterday in the pub, we will probably have to wait to see if Louis appears in the wild on Tuesday to watch IT-ESP.
