Hero For Hire pt 4
Summary. Reader stumbles on a website that specializes in getting rid of ex boyfriends with the help of a‘ fake boyfriend’ Pro Hero. She agrees and Hawks shows up to do the job. But Reader is starting to fall for her fake boyfriend.
Hawks was pacing around his Agency office holding the feather he had given you ; it was almost wilted now and missing quills . It looked like it was squeezed as if a struggle happened. As soon as he found the feather he went home leaving the mission to other Pros . What happened? Were you okay?
Tokoyami knocked lightly and opened the door quietly which was difficuly because it had this dreadful squeak that made Dark Shadow tingle all over . “I'd wish you got that fixed.” Tokoyami said, closing the door behind him with Dark Shadow peering over his shoulder shaking all over.
Hawks looked over and instead of a snarky sarcastic comment he said ‘“sorry, i'll get it fixed soon' ' he looked tired, defeated. And Tokoyami noticed.
“Keigo..?”
“I think y/n was kidnapped ..” he handed over the feather and flew to his desk to sit down, hands in his curly hair.
Dark Shadow creeped over Tokoyamis shoulder examining the feather while Fumi talked. “I told you that little extra cash business was dangerous”
“I know.”
“And i told you that you should be careful when picking clients with crazy exes”
“ ...i love her.”
Dark Shadow covered Tokoyamis mouth before he could speak and spoke instead . “Keigo !! In love?!??”
Tokoyami gave Dark Shadow the side eye and he crept behind his shoulder again. Tokoyami rolled his eyes and made his way to the desk to sit down, elbows on his knees rubbing his hands together. “Are you sure about that? Keigo?” He asked, looking up at the Number Two Hero.
“Yes, she's different.. i don't know how to explain it.”
“You told me she never asked for anything.”
“That's correct.”
“Maybe that's why..”
Hawks laid his head on the desk whining.
Tokoyami rolled his eyes. “I'll help you, only because I want them to be safe. Cmon, lets scope out her job”
Hawks looked up with tired eyes, he had bags under them too, “thanks Toko.”
The two left for your work asking your boss all kinds of questions, he had not seen you and you were not the type to call out or do a no show. Tokoyami was inspecting the store while Dark Shadow was hiding from mirrors. Hawks was still talking to the boss.
“She said you had a mission whenever I asked about you.”
“Oh yea. Thats true but uhm.. she hired me to be her boyfriend to scare her ex away .”
The man laughed tapping Keigos shoulder. “Dont tell me you were doing that because you were bored with hero work.”
“No no. Well.. and i wanted to help people, make life a little easier for everyone.”
“Aww how sweet, but now that you mention it, i have not seen the guy since she went missing”
Keigo tilted his head and Tokoyami came out of the store with a new hoodie on .
“Couldint resist?” Keigo asked him .
Tokoyami gave Dark Shadow a look and pointed to him. “His idea, he said I'm too cold, my body is a perfect natural temperature.
“Tokoyami i dont think that's what Dark Shadow means…”

After Hawks gathered up some information on your ex he decided to do some stake outs near his home, it was not far from the countryside, just out of the city pretty much . He waited, and waited, till finally the man left his house , he looked to be on edge and checking over his shoulder a lot . Hawks crouched down on the roof of a building watching him get in his car and drive off into the city. He waited just a couple more minutes before falling off the roof into a gentle glide down behind the mans home.
Everything was locked from the inside with some kind of special lock , it was no trouble though. A feather slipped under the back door unlocking it and Hawks crept in closing it quietly. He was in the kitchen and everything was off. The windows did indeed have a special lock on them along with the front door, some kind of combination lock.. He walked into the living room sending out some feathers upstairs . “Y/n? Y/n..” he called , wandering the house. All his feathers came back with nothing and Hawks was getting worried now.
“Mmf..!!!”
“Y/n?!?”
He rushed down the stairs stopping in the living room to see a basement door with a combination lock. “Y/n!!” He banged on the door.
“Mmfff…!!!!”
Hawks moved back and kicked the door in smashing it right in the middle, as soon as he did though the mans car pulled up to the driveway . Hawks rushed down to the basement seeing you gagged and tied up to a chair. He grabbed you, hugging tight, letting out a large sigh of relief. His feathers cut the ropes around you and he removed the gag and held your face.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt? Y/n.. “
You hugged him tight, crying quietly trying to explain. “He.. took me.. i .. i was here all .. night and day..”
“I know , i know.”
“Dont leave me..”
Hawks pulled your face to his kissing you for a minute. “Never, i'm never leaving you again.”
The front door clicked and Hawks pulled you to his chest scanning the room, no other way out. He pulled a feather sword to his front holding you with one arm to his chest.

Another superhero with awesome powers! If I had to choose to be a superhero, Luke Cage is in my top two.
He's like superman except he can't fly. Just as well, I think superman thinks he's better than everyone else because he can fly. That's probably why he's such a goodie-two-shoes.

Hero For Hire
He showed up at your work of all places to ask for you to take him back. The fire on your face was more than enough to excuse yourself and take this Ex outside.
“Please? I miss you. I wont do it again”
“No! Just leave me alone! Why would i go back to you? You are a awful person”
“Baby cmon . You dont mean that.”
“Leave or ill make you leave.”
The anger on his face sent a chill down your back but you stood your ground. Never again. He did leave though, muttering under his breath. You sighed leaning on the building collecting yourself. This needs to stop. You went back inside and apologized to your boss before returning to work.
As soon as you clocked out you went home to search the internet for a solution. You stumbled upon a Hero for Hire link and clicked it.
‘Tired of a clingy ex? Need to get rid of them? Hire me! Ill pretend to be your boyfriend so they get lost!’ You rolled your eyes at this website , thats too good to be true .. but .. whats the hurt in it? You sent a email and went to bed.
Hawks phone lit up and he looked at it landing on a roof to read it.
‘If this is real i have a ex problem , he wont leave me alone i need to shake him off . Heres my number and address. I dont care what Hero you guys send me , i just want this dude to leave me alone.’
His wings fluttered while he looked at the starry sky.

You woke up to a few texts from your ex and a email from the website.
‘Of course we are real. Sounds like a real problem. Just let me know where i can meet you and what time .’
You rubbed your eyes reading it a few times before replying with your work information. With a yawn you got ready for work , thinking about what hero you would get.
Your work was ex free in the morning thankfully since you did not have the energy to deal with him. It didint help that it was a clothes store you worked at , he always lingered around. But by the 4th hour of work sure enough he came in to ‘look at clothes’ . You shook your head leaning on the counter watching the door. Waiting for a Pro to step though.
Your ex dropped some clothes on the counter making your gaze travel to him in a glaring way. He tried to talk to you while you rang up the clothes.
“So i think i know where we went wrong y/n”
“Oh yeah?”
“Yes i got angry to easy.”
You rolled your eyes shoving the clothes in the bag pushing it to him. “Ok have a nice day.”
“Y/n..”
“Have a nice day”
“No. I need to talk to you. And your gonna listen.”
“Is she now? Thats no way to talk to my lovely dove.”
You both looked up and you fell onto the desk. It was Hawks. God damn Hawks. That website was real. Hoo.lee.fuck . He strolled over going behind the desk to pull you to him kissing your cheek. “Hi little dove. Can you take your lunch?” Your ex clicked his teeth stomping off but not before looking back making a fist.
You didint know what to say , apparently your boss did not care that he was behind the counter either. You looked at him and he agreed to you taking your lunch now , laughing a bit and waving his hand to hurry you out.
Hawks brought you to the next door cafe ordering you a coffee and sitting at a table . He sipped his coco and placed a paper in front of you. “First, wanna apologize for kissing without permission. Ill knock off 10 bucks for that. Just seemed like the right thing to do.”
You gripped the hot coffee reading the paper as best you could, eyes jumping all over it for key words.
‘Hero For Hire.

You looked up and Hawks with a raised eyebrow. He was sipping his coffee looking smug as fuck. “Made it myself.” Gloated the Hero. You rolled your eyes at him .
“I think a week should be enough. Dont worry about the kiss i think it really pissed him off so thats good for me.”
He set his coffee down handing you a pen from his coat to sign the paper. “Great! Lets get to work, little Dove.”

And to work he did. Hawks hung around your job every single day , if he wasint sitting on the roof eating he was in the store holding up clothes for you to see and ask you to try on.
“Hawks im working”
“Y/n boss can she try this on?”
“Oh goodness of course!”
Eye roll but this time with a giggle.
Your ex stopped showing up too but that didint mean he didint follow you around on your dates with the Pro. He brought you to the movies, introduced you to other Pros, treated you to dinner. It was all really nice, you had never been treated this way and... it made your stomach get butterflies .
Not once did your ex approach you, not with Hawks holding you so close to him or holding your hand. He gave you little cheek kisses and picked you up in his arms taking off into the sky to really lose the damn guy.
On the 6th day your ex had pretty much got the picture abd left you alone . You were so relieved you invited Hawks to your home to treat him to dinner which he agreed to hapily . You asked him if you could cuddle him and he picked you up sitting on the couch with you holding his food for him.
He told you all about his side job and how fun it was ,but the love made it complicated, he had to break alotta hearts. You laid your head on his chest thinking about it , and if you should tell him or not.
