OkAY SO.

Take this as a kind of poll.

Since I'm really seriously taking in consideration to coming back and writing as much as possible, (because I miss it and because I do want to leave something out there that I made, plus giving my contributions to the fandoms I am in, AND plus feeling all the nostalgia in seeing all of my friends writing and writing) I would like to know something from you... so please, just stop by a few seconds and answer this for me?

It regards my writing style.

I ALWAYS have written every story/one shots and etc by using the third person. Let me give you an example (this is from an oneshot I wrote last year during October about Eivor):

"She opened her mouth, a mere attempt to break that heavy and deafening silence, but the words died on her parted lips, slightly frowning her eyebrows: she hoped, silently prayed that their gazes, at last, might cross and meet, unite. But she could clearly see a thick veil of worry and confusion clouding his mind and obscuring his own deep-set eyes."

But lately, as I have been reading some one shots, I have noticed that most of them (if not ALL of them) are written by... uhmmm UGH I suck at this, but well, they were written like:

"You woke up in the middle of the night. You yawned..." etc etc...

And well, I started to wonder if I should start to write by using this kind of style?? Because maybe it makes the reader feel, I guess, more included, somehow? It makes the reader visualise themselves better in the context, with their favourite character?

Since I have started writing I always have written using the third person point of view (if that makes sense) so I can have more space in describing BOTH the feeling of the reader and the favourite character and everything else (because I LOVE describing the environments and the feelings, emotions and even the slightest and less important object HAAHAHAHAH). And also because it gives me more of those classic books vibes, you know??

But as I said, I feel like people tend to """"ignore"""" my works and everything else JUST because of the way I write?? Because maybe they don't feel included in the one shot, because they find it hard to visualise themselves since of the writing style being in the third person? Because they get annoyed? Bored? Because in that way, perhaps, they don't feel like they are THEMSELVES?

I know I shouldn't change my writing style, because I mean...that's what makes me, me, right? That's what makes my writing """"unique""""" and recognisable to the others I suppose. But still.

So what I want to ask you all is: which one do you prefer when you read a reader insert? What does make you FEEL like YOU YOURSELF are in the one shot? Which one of the writing style makes you visualise yourself in x situation with x character better?
