Have a snippet as thanks for being so patient (And I want to feed you guys a bit while I'm still writing)! It means so much to know that I don't have to rush this process or try and rush myself, and while I'm still sorry for taking so long with chapter two, I'm really excited to finish it and put it out there when it's finished!

Hours went by, mindless scrolling through photos and silly texts to other hermits being how he passed the time, attention caught from his device when a loud yawn rang in his ears. The guest! Pocketing the communicator, Scar watched as the blankets shifted around, arms adorned with red and blue bracelets stretching out from under the covers. “Wow, I feel so warm and snuggly.” A slight slur came between his words, legs straightening out too as joints quietly cracked, dark black hair sticking out every which way as he pulled to sit up in the bed. Taurtis was awake, a peaceful smile on his face before hands moved to grab his head, a sharp hiss let out as he hunched forward.

A headache. Taurtis didn’t think Grian would be serious about feeling the travel affect him this much, he thought it was just an exaggeration. But he couldn’t ignore the pounding in his head, groaning and covering his face while falling back to laying down. With the pain banging around he missed the sound of the floor creaking, confused at the sound of rattling in a bottle, whining in complaint when the sink turned on for a moment. “Got a migraine?” This voice was different from Grian’s, the change stirring his brain up a bit more. Bright brown eyes opened to see his surroundings, giving a yawn and rolling over onto his side, looking at the thick white blanket that covered him. Then he looked around the room, hands holding his forehead as he took in the new surroundings. It felt so wrong being in a house that wasn’t his.

The walls were spruce wood, bare and bland apart from the foggy windows and work area, chests lining up on a wall next to it. Moving out from the bed to peek behind it, his eyes caught onto a person wearing a light blue sweater and tan cargo pants. Just what was this guy wearing? The lack of fashion sense and stylish clothes almost made him cringe. Actually no, erase the almost, he was cringing, and must’ve thought it’d be a good idea to let his opinion known. “Dude, I’ve got no clue who you are, but your clothes are trash.” Mumbling through the sentence, it was barely coherent, but not impossible to make out. Scar was ready to give this new friend an extra special greeting to Hermitcraft, but ultimately got stuck in his tracks at the sudden diss to his fit for the day.

I also need to talk about my blorbo (scar. Ofc.) so here's my silly thoughts on these two:

Theyre both aroace and awkward as fuck when it comes to showing affection. Scar loved holding hands. Mumbo does too except he's very weird about it and is always very anxious to initiate any hand holding and doesn't know if it's appropriate in the given moment (he's just like me fr)

Mumbo also struggles with social anxiety. Scar struggles with general anxiety. They're both anxious little fucks.

Scar always feels cold and Mumbo is surprisingly warm so Scar loves cuddling with Mumbo. He's like his own personal heater.

Mumbo is SO aroace and just incredibly socially anxious, like that man does NOT know how to initiate any physical touches and interactions, he just overthinks everything and just makes himself more nervous (pov a friend just hugged him)

Also!! Yes yes yes Mumbo constantly being warm for some reason?? I've been going INSANE over this idea for so long and GAHHHH his hugs are always one of the warmest, so the hermits who are almost always cold like Scar would 100% just seek out hugs from him if they're feeling down

Which I find silly cause I imagine Mumbo just being🧍while cuddling for the first few times that happens because he?? doesn't know??? what to do???? he's the completely oblivious to affection type guy. He gets used to it tho ofc, you kinda have to when 2 of the people closest to you (Scar and Grian) really enjoy cuddles and sleepovers

OKOK. so i’m kinda in the starkid/nerdy prudes must die fandom rn but i know for a fact if i finished adventure time and started watching fiona and cake, that would quite literally become my entire personality for the next 3 months because simon and prismo (and marceline and princess bubblegum and all my other favorite characters) make me insane. but i haven’t done that because well. i’ve gotta write tllr yknow..

anyway, my absolute most favorite pieces of media of all time are undertale and deltarune guys. i cant put in words how much those games mean to me holy shit. as i’m writing this i’m sitting next to my jevil and sans and spamton plushie and they are saying hi. anywayyy yeah i was in the deltarune fandom for a bit it was fun. spamton is silly fucked up creature. jevil is my all time favorite tho

AND THE MAGNUS ARCHIVES… my favorite thing ever fr. y’all. LISTEN TO TMA SERIOUSLY YOU’LL PROBABLY LIKE IT!! it’s a horror podcast and it’s seriously the best fuckinf thing ever it’s so amazing seriously. it’s a bit hard to get into at first because season 1 is less story driven BUT HOLY SHIT. AHHHH ITS SO FUCKING GOOD. jon is one of my favorite blorbos ever and so is michael because he’s a silly distortion guy. just trust me and listen to TMA it will actually change your life.

also i love the amazing world of gumball so fucking much. i wasn’t allowed to watch cartoon network as a kid (idk why??) so i first watched tawog last year and holy shit holy shit it’s my favorite thing ever. rob. ROB!!!! ROB IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE CHARACTER. SO IS MR SMALL. AHHHH!!!! anyway i love tawog i’ve drawn a lot of fanart and even wrote a 60k word fanfiction (about what happens after The Inquisition because that ending fucked me up) that i’ve Never and will probably never show anyone because it’s probably Not that good. but it was sooo Important to me back then. tawog just means so much to me it :))) it changed me as a person. nobody’s a nobody and everybody is weird like you and me.

i also really like hollow knight! i haven’t played it in a while but i was at 111% completion on one of my playthroughs (CURSE YOU PANTHEON 4). i’m also super fucking excited for silksong obviously and i will say this now: WHEN SILKSONG FINALLY RELEASES… i will probably go on hiatus here LMAO. sorry but guys. SILKSONG…. honestly same for new deltarune chapters. the second chapters 3, 4, and 5 release it is sooo over for me. i probably won’t post much here for a few months during that. but that’s fine!! i’ll never abandon tllr but sometimes some things are more important to my silly little brain :3

gravity falls quite literally changed my life in 2018. like i can’t even explain it, but it’s how i was introduced to online fandoms and fanart in general. dipper LITERALLY made me trans (not literally but pretty much). it’s how i started watching other amazing cartoons and series i love, it’s literally what made me get into drawing art and writing and stuff. it’s what made me start making ocs. it literally made me an artist guys. which is how i started writing. without gravity falls and it’s effect it had on me, this account might have never existed?? i’m being super dramatic but wowww. i was so autistic about that silly cartoon

minecraft i love. i’ve been playing minecraft for over a decade and won’t stop because it’s like, probably a special interest of mine? i’ve watch minecraft youtubers forever too, hermitcraft and the life series are my favorite. i’m a huge grian fan too, been watching him since the evo days. anyway if u play minecraft and wanna play with me sometime, feel free to ask!!! :D i love making new friends and playing video games with people!!! let’s make a world together!!!

also i like terraria and stardew valley, and animal crossing new horizons but i haven’t played that in a few years. hmm other games i like are oneshot game, NITW, omori, celeste, cuphead, fnaf (although i’ve only played the first 5 games and am super super behind on the lore), ori, dead cells, untitled goose game (this is for u anon), and probably more i’m forgetting! feel free to recommend me some video games and we can even play together :3

other series i love are the umbrella academy. soooo autistic about this show it’s fucking AMAZING!!!!!! klaus is my favorite character. anyway i also like what we do in the shadows. it made me super autistic about vampires (before i watched this show i kinda thought vampires were cringe IDK WHY I’M SORRYY). the netflix show lucifer made me insane a few years ago and is what probably indirectly inspired me to give Dew wings. i also like our flag means death, breaking bad, moon knight, and camp here in there (another podcast i HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend, will wood made the soundtrack!)

i LOVEEE FINAL SPACE!! avocato has been my pfp on this account forever and now i feel like i can’t ever change it (i don’t want to). final space is seriously amazing!!! but it was cancelled and basically got fucked over by the networks- infinity train style. idk, stuff happened and it was removed from hbo max so there’s not really anywhere to watch it (legally) except for netflix international iirc? but it’s getting removed from that too i think. super fucking sad :( it ended on a huge cliffhanger too BUT there is a graphic novel being made!!!! super excited about that!

other cartoons i like are over the garden wall (dressed up as wirt for halloween last year), the owl house, adventure time, regular show, steven universe, infinity train, bojack horseman, rick and morty, mlp, the midnight gospel, and so much more i’m forgetting. OH anime i like are death note, demon slayer (haven’t caught up yet on the latest seasons tho), and MOB PSYCHO 100!! vampire in the garden on netflix is really amazing as well.

this is sooo long but now i gotta talk about my favorite music artists. WILL WOOD (AND THE TAPEWORMS) IS MY FAVORITEEE. I ALSO LOVEEE JHARIAH!!! AND HARLEY POE!!!!! top three of all time. i also like toby fox obviously, and glass beach (LITERALLY GOING TO SEE THEM IN MARCH AND I AM SOOO EXCITED!!!), mcr, shayfer james, weezer, mitski, lemon demon, set it off, tally hall, gerard way, and probably more i’m forgetting. i also like musicals!! (i was in the spongebob musical earlier this year for school! i was larry the lobster :))

Mumbos the missing scientist because there’s a photo of him crossed out in Take a

Picture, in the most recent art he wasn’t there “because of lore smile”, and there’s a missing scientist and come on be honest with me here. There’s. That’s. Enough evidence. That’s enough proof and if you guys don’t see it that’s not on me. Possibly, Cub and Scar had to ‘make him take a small vacation’, let’s say, because he was investigating the Fungi that follows Cub, because it’s very clear we have no idea what that weird lab was researching. It’s been basically stated word for word “but what were they [the lab] researching?” Multiple times.

We know Grian and Pearl both have character sheets and they’re obviously both important and you know who else have character sheets? YEAH. That's right. CUB AND SCAR.

On Scars character sheet there are images of a burning car (mysterious backstory?) and missing papers (multiple missing PEOPLES papers…like Grian’s CASE with multiple MISSING PEOPLE which the police ABANDONED) and a train in the woods, and in text it’s written “occasionally invites tourists on private tour, there is no private tour, good friends with cub” “has endless pit in backyard (haha boatem hole), wanted in 38 states, 5 countries, +1 micronation” (the reason those are in different quotation marks is because I have no idea whether that’s something or just reference and sillies)l and in Take a Picture, there’s a photo of someone with kind of Scars haircut with an X over it (do I know what this means? Not a clue, and am I grasping at straws here? Some might say so but hey here we are anyway and I WILL figure it out)

On Cubs character sheet there are images of strange crystal, mask, food on a plate that me personally sees as vaguely resembling an actual heart because of veins and some red liquid thing that’s hopefully sauce, fungi on a tree (that would be strange if he was boogeyman because that wasn’t mentioned but also we’re barely skimming the top of Grian’s past from the what I see right now, so that could just be not there rn.), and TATTERED WINGS. Also! In Take a Picture, there’s someone something in the woods with glasses, and tell me a wild guess of who has monster evil undertones, glasses, and a photo of something that “marks they’ve been there” on a tree? Well my friends, that would be, the one and only, no other, than CUB.

On top of this, in Scar (doodles), it says, and I quote, “…when he tells you there’s something in the woods, you can’t help but believe him.” Now let’s look back on what we’ve learned. Scar invites tourists on private tours that don’t exist, Cub is a monster (in the [little] woods) who may or may not eat people, Scar and Cub are good friends, Scar is a criminal that is involved (if not the cause of) multiple missing people things, nobody really knows anything about them, and they’re no doubt very important to the story.

does grian have finger prints? hm... probably. but he probably got really really close to getting them burned off. if not for the potion he'd probably've lost them, that's how bad the acid was burning him and seeping poison into him. tee hee

yknow! i had no idea what to make keralis' power until i wrote the scene. initially the shadow guy wasnt even gonna be keralis, but then i was possesssed, wrote ha-shasha and i knew it had to be. my brother in craft chose his power /silly. i like his power though because to me it makes sense that he'd be a little off putting to look at bc he's had to rebuild his human form so often. he incites an uncanny valley sorta feeling with his eyes especially :) i like to play around with symmetry a lot in gihasm. i wanted to have grian see scar in his most vulnerable (body not cooperating, being taken care of by mumbo in the bathroom, just. things that only people who are tied together would allow each other to see) and then seeing him turn around and take control. Having to see scar move fluidly between those two extremes really humanizes him for grian quite a bit. humans have a lot of dimensions and so does scar. which yknow... leads into the last scene really well... oh my gosh, thank you for reassuring me that the office scene was good! /genuine. i worried a lot about it but i couldn't think of another way to write it. i love making keralis extra silly there. ("mrow") LEAFY!! i think your words are in fact, wording! Heyhey!!! I accidentally found your posts about elevator hitch on old account and then saw that you're into mcyt, sooo.. lemme present to you some of the ideas i had!!

First of all. Dead plate. All the Chaos kitchen streams. Skizz is a perfect Rudy, Tango is such a Vincent, so that leaves us with Manon being Jimmy, obviously. That's pretty much their relationship in the streams!

Then we have Cold Front. Whinnie is soooo Wormman... Silly optimist who was probably a crybaby as a kid. Evil X is Augustine who was so silly as a kid but then grew up and... Well. Let's not get into the whole Jeff the minion thing, how's it's messing with Evil Xisuma's brain...*wink wink*

Tge last but not least, Elevator hitch. I do have two options here. Desert duo with Grian as newbie, or Imp&Skizz. In the first case the Normal guy would be Joe(i was gonna say Mumbo but he's too silly for a normal guy) and for Impulse and Skizz it's definitely Zed
